i didn't wanna tack this on my last reblog bc its so long and i didnt wanna take away from ranboos speech either but. theres some specific parts my brain has latched on to from that.

first off being bazoingas, them acknowledging how busty their vtuber and people's art of them was hilarious. i love seeing him explore his identity more, i love that he's comfortable enough to do that. it gives me hope and courage to do the same, and i see a lot of myself in ranboo in terms of gender identity and expression. and something about the phrase "young queer kid" and how we helped that queer kid makes my heart sing. like. they were a young queer kid. they were scared at one point. just like me. just like a lot of us. but if he can make it this far, maybe we can too

and although the whole thing is mostly addressing what the community has been doing wrong recently, i melted when he mentioned how much he appreciates us. bAcK iN tHe dAy, before live streaming and especially twitch became so popular, there was always such a big barrier between the content creator and their audience. you knew your favourite CC appreciated you, sure, but you were always aware of that barrier and how it would always be there. now tho, for better or for worse (thafs a different topic that im too migrainey to tackle rn) that barrier has become a little.. transparent? i guess? it's more like glass now. it's still there, and you're still aware of it, but it has become so much easier to make a real connection with your audience as a creator, and vice versa.

seeing ranboo talk about how he has fun with chat and appreciates us.. it makes me happier than i can accurately describe. ranboo always seems genuinely excited to meet fans and is so active in their own community. it's one of the things about them that charmed me when i was first getting into their content, is how much they clearly loved their community.

but it also makes me sad how much he's been having to correct the community lately. i wont pretend im not part of that issue at all, bc im not perfect and ive definitely broken a rule or two or crossed a boundary once, intentional or not.

but ive been stepping away from ranboos content recently. part of it was not being into their new content as much, as im not a huge fan of horror (but that has been steadily changing for me) but a lot of it was the community. ive watched a lot of great fandoms and communities go sour because people cared too much about the wrong things. i don't want that to happen to something/one that has helped me so much.

but i don't want to end this on a bad note. one of my favourite parts of being a boober is the community (and the name). ranboo fans are some of the most creative, supportive, passionate (even if the passion is misplaced) and welcoming people ive met. even though its easy to forget, especially with what's been going on lately, i try to remind myself and others that there are good people in this community. they can be funny and witty and talented and inventive and observant and so many other things!! this community is filled with good people!!

and at the end of the day, we're qll here for more or less the same reason.

we like ranboo. we enjoy his content and his personality. for a lot of us, ranboo has helped us through some dark times, and led us to make some great friends. some of us are here from the old enderian-platonic-husband days and some of us are here from generation loss and some of us are here for the variety horror games and some of us are just here for minecraft content and a million other reasons. ranboo has charmed their way into the jearts of me and many others. some of us consider finding ranboo to be one of the best things to ever happen to us.

ive never been good at wrapping up these things but ig ill end with. remember where we all came from, and why we're all here.

whether you're a long term fan, a new boober, or have stepped away as the content has shifted, we all were impacted in some way, hopefully positive, by this creator. he's helped a lot kf us, whether it's with mental health, starting our own content creation journeys, inspiring us to make art or mess around with how we present ourselves, or just made us laugh with their jokes and offhand comments, we're all here because of ranboo.

and idk about you, but the fact that so many people can and do come together all because of one person.. that's pretty fucking beautiful to me.

Oh man oh man where to begin with this Good one, this topic might make me emotional, Nostalgic, and transparent.

Now, I'll try to articulate as much as possible, cause there's a lot going on with today's society and how we Poc or Bipoc Are seen.

This will not only affect my way or others' views of today's media from the 80s and today's 2000s cause as a person born in the 90s.

i have alot to say on how we come along way from today's media, watching all forms of animation, be it episodic or story-driven shows, of every genre, but theres one topic no one dont want to open about is how we see each other in forms of media so where gonna get donw to the first years of my life and how it effected me

The Raging 80s & 90s (The open space for resolving politics & steppingstone to cultural appreciation.)

This was the pinnacale of golden age animation that trailblazed so many ideas, great shows and driven packed series & francshies, i feel this was a excellent time to see.Which had very provactive engaging storytelling made up for it,

(without the whole lgbt themes getting in the way be it good or bad we'll get to that soon.)

however There were certain times we never had premoninet characters, main main characters if you will, never gained any limelinght or just a magic or Token black being a side piece or disposable best friend without reasonnig leaving the show,

(Disney shows im looking at you with a bomb bastic SIDE EYES later on.)

that are underused to a degree in 80s animation which atsome point were depicted good.

(exception of kid n play show in the 90s being a prominent cast of colorful cast & movie series or fat albert being a first main character howver he has at times can promote harmful stereotypes.)

At the point i feel theres alot of work for todays future animators, creators to have better inclusion and open minded options to appease to other viewrs and true fans of great storytelling to tell for generations

I watched Sole Crusher, I’m annoyed and feel like these are things people arent talking about

- First I’ve seen people talking about Marinette’s “growth” in not judging Zoe from her association but like this ep would have gone very differently had she not met her earlier. 

- Chloe’s advice to Zoe does seem to be genuine it does really seem like Chloe thought she was legitimately helping her. Chloe has a very odd and childish world view though this ep also makes her like comically worse than what we saw in season 1 and it’s like blatant to make Zoe look even better by comparison.

- What is up with Sabrina this ep? No seriously. Like up until now Sabrina was Chloe’s friend that she took advantage of but like again to make Chloe just the worst this ep they upped the Sabrina abuse and kinda made it look like she gets off on it. Like that moment she kinda fawns on Zoe for imitating Chloe is super weird. 

- Zoe whole deal is so audience manipulative it like psychically hurts me. Like the shoe thing where she says it’s to write nice things people say to her so she can take it with her but only has one cause she only had one friend. It’s so transparently there to make her sympathetic (we should note that Chloe herself once confessed feeling she has no friends but we arent meant to sympathize) like they could have made the shoes important if she just said “My best fried got them for me, makes me feel like they’re here” Even her whole reason for transferring is to make you feel sorry for her. She got bullied once after she started acting like herself and not what she thought people wanted her to be. It’s not cause she wanted to connect with her mother, it’s not cause she wanted to live in Paris, nope she got bullied and it was so traumatic she moved to another country (Like you can’t tell me there’s only 1 boarding school in New York). 

- Zoe is boring. So like her habit of changing herself to people please is interesting but the ep doesn’t really do anything with it. She says she wants to be an actress but not WHY she wants to as a means to explain why she’s so good at this (something very unneeded in fact doing this and not being interested in acting could be more character building) She then says that people don’t like the real her cause she’s “Different” which I’m hoping is meant to be like “im not what they expect” and not “My personality is just so weird no one gets me” but what we see of her base personality is just the generic “nice” of all the other interchangeable side characters. If I were to do a re-write of her it’d be that she has no sense of self and feels hollow not lonely.

- The Andre stuff. So like I keep seeing how people saying Andre got redeemed in this ep and Zoe is the daughter he should have had but like I think people forget this one kinda important thing ANDRE RAISED CHLOE HIMSELF. Audrey was out of the picture for a long time and Andre was her primary care giver. Chloe is a monster of Andre’s own making because rather than set boundaries and raising her with care he spoiled her giving her everything she wanted and giving in to her every whim cause he either didn’t know what to do or was lazy as a parent. Like a child doesn’t just develop a world view of entitlement and seeing themselves as superior a parent has to nurture that and Andrea did. So no I don’t feel bad about how Chloe treats him cause it’s obvious that it’s his neglectful parenting that brought this. I do feel bad he felt like he couldn’t follow his passions but like had he been the one to raise Zoe it’s very likely she would have turned out just like Chloe. 

- The message of this ep is so muddled it’s like “Be yourself” and also “family is who you love” but these thing don’t really blend like with how the show is structured it’s kinda impossible to do both of these like even if it was over two eps. But they really shoulda just focused on the be yourself thing. 

- Also last thing making Zoe Chloe’s half sister through their mom is like the messiest decision they could have made. Like Andre having an affair and another kid extremely close in age is easy to think of like logistically but you mean to tell me Audrey carried two children so close together sequentially???? But like we all know why it was done, it’s to make Audrey look worse. Zoe could have been Andre’s kid, or Chloe’s cousin and the ep would go the same. They ONLY reason she is Chloe’s half sister through Audrey is to make both of them look worse. It makes Audrey look like a worse mother and wife and it makes Chloe look worse as a person though again we don’t know how Zoe was raised.

The Duffer brothers belittled how wrong it was that Jonathon took photos of Nancy without her consent.

Had written police and everyone being more concerned about Nancy having had sex than they did about a missing kid.

And of course it leads to everyone eventually hating Nancy because she has survivor's guilt over the death of her best friend. The death that she feels responsible for.

Her and Steve's relationship was obviously strained from that but their intent as writers was to make everyone think Steve was too good for her when she was just traumatized and riddled with guilt.

They had a 40 something year old woman flirting with a teenager and it being brushed off as okay because she didn't actually cheat on her husband. Everyone totally looks pass the predatory nature of it.

The amount of people that defend the grossest behavior simply because of how the Duffer brothers have written and presented their story says so much.

LITERALLY WHY DOES NO ONE EVER TALK ABOUT THE FUCKING KAREN OF IT ALL AM I IN THE FUCKING TWILIGHT ZONE

Adam didn't even notice that he stood up until he felt Mira tugging at his shirt gesturing for him to sit down.

“Is the guy at the piano him?” She whispered, pointing to Kai, who began to sing a song matching the tune of the melody he started on the piano.

Reeve scoffed, “no it's one of the really old dudes on the stage.”

Vanessa gasped in awe. “And he sings” She murmured. “You really got yourself a catch there Adam.”

“His nose is a bit big for my taste.” Reeve shrugged. “And he's a red-head he might not look as good as he does on stage.”

Mira smacked his arm. “One, he isn't your soulmate. And two, can we not judge the person that Adams literally destined to be with?” she half-yelled, half-whispered.

Adam shushed her, not even paying attention to the conversation, as he was now sitting and almost mesmerized by the show onstage.

“Great, now we lost him.” Reeve sighed, “you guys didn't act like this when you figured out you were soulmates.”

Mira and Vanessa looked at each other. Vanessa spoke up, “it’s probably because we already knew each other. This is like love at first sight or something.”

“What, no.” Adam seemed to have snapped out of his trance. “Soulmates can be platonic. Also we haven't even met him yet! I don't even know his name!”

His friends looked at him incredulously.

“Look, even if we're supposed to be soulmates romantically I want to at least get to know him as a person and a friend before we start anything.” Adam started, “I don't even know if he wants to be in a romantic relationship with me.” He let out a sigh of relief when they finally seemed to get it. “So maybe stop with the teasing?”

They all gave words of affirmation. Agreeing to tone it down a bit.

The song faded out as another one started again. Adam understood that he couldn't just stop the performance and scream for his soulmate. He probably wouldn't appreciate it that much. He hated that he had to wait. His soulmate was right there and he couldn't even get his name.

Benjamin came soon asking for their orders. None of them actually wanting anything asks for breadsticks and water.

Soon the continuation of water and breadsticks gets old and the waiter says they have to order something. They didn't wanna leave and lose the opportunity of meeting Adams soulmate.

Luckily Kai notices the string on his finger being especially thin. Almost invisible. Half panicking that something bad happened to his soulmate and he no longer has their connection he makes a mistake. There are murmurs from the staff because Kais never made a mistake before. A hush overcomes the restaurant.

Kai finally sees the thin string and glances towards where it's pointing. In the dim audience he could faintly see a guy around his age. He awkwardly coughs. “Thank you for being a great audience but uh it seems that the performance has to be cut short.”

He scrambles off stage hearing soft yells from Weirdy and the Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Adam sees this of course, even as they're being pushed and shoved out the door by Benjamin who has had enough of their inconvenience. Mira gives him a thumbs-up, “we’ll distract him, you slip in and meet your soulmate, okay?”

Adam nods, ducking under Benjamins bulky arm and immediately sprinting around tables as Kai maneuvers around people.

Benjamin almost grabs him before Adams friends start making a scene making it the waiters main priority to get these kids out.

The string is practically transparent the closer they get.

Finally they meet, by Kai being elbowed in the stomach by a stranger and slamming into Adam making them topple to the floor.

Kai is immediately up apologizing profusely. Giving his hand for Adam to grab onto to get up. They watch as the string that connected them disappears, remembering that when you come in physical contact with your soulmate your string vanishes.

Silence overcomes them both as Kai is awkwardly crouched with his hand hanging while Adam is on the floor in silent astonishment. The silence is broken when both of them say, “so you're my soulmate.”

First of all, Im not gunna dive into the evaxephon rabbit hole since I firmly believe people can grow and change. He certainly has... but I ain’t nesecarrily sure it’s for the good. 

There’s an incredible abundance of little problems. Like how he says on his patreon that his monthly salary is $3500, and the rest of the money goes towards the game. He has income on top of the $5000 from patreon (but that has reduced to around $4000 since the recent controversies), from twitch, youtube and merch - which he conveniently fails to mention in his big transparency post.

So why isn’t he paying people? He's making a huge surplus; bigger than what’s come from patreon. Surely he can afford to pay a head artist so that his game can look more consistent...? He mentions in that huge patreon post that he doesn’t even need to pay people if they offer to volunteer... and then you see him complain about how volunteers find him dispoable, and how nobody ever sticks around. It’s a little contradictory.

He mentions in his videos how he could use a head programmer, so he isn’t acting as director and producer plus lead programmer.

Ahh wait, he doesnt want to add another programmer after he got rid of the one tinybuild provided; since they improved his code to the point he couldn't understand it (in case you didnt put two and two together, this means yandev is bad at coding. You can find examples of his "spaghetti code" - as professional programmers like to call it - online). 

On top of this, he's stolen a lot of assets for his game (such as yan-chan's bedroom and various textures) from artists who have explicity requested him to maybe not do that.

Artists who have volunteered have expressed their explicit distaste for him for being very difficult to work with, or for him taking their work and then not crediting them or contacting them again.

Im gunna bet a high percentage of his patreon supporters have no clue about the loss of tinybuild or the texture stealing or the lack of crediting, since he conveniently didn’t bother to tell them in his videos.

(And since he's pulling all his assets from so many different sources, the final game won't be consistent in its animations, art, etc.)

And from my own personal experience with him now... he is very rude. Even if someone is an annoying person, these are some choice words!

As you can partly see here, something he complains about often is that little edgy kids are into his game. It doesn't add up, unless you consider how he must get a lot of revenue (if not most of it) from his very young audience, and that's why he keeps them around.

Also, reminiscent of his evaxephon days, he is a bit gross. On his server there was this quote bot that'd give you a random "funny" quote from him, and every single one was about perversions.

For those that don't know, that's his own old twitter... it makes me think he hasnt really changed.

He also mentions in that patreon post that he’s comitted to honesty, which sounds ridiculous to me. He knows almost all his audience has only seen his youtube channel, where he’s conveniently forgotted to mention the partnership with tinybuild has ended; and immediately bans anyone in his lowkey dictatorship of a discord server who mentions things like evaxephon or azzman, or if they even very gently criticise his game.

I dont have a screenshot... but I witnessed someone say something critical about the game, and the other members suddenly jumped in like "they didnt mean it!!" And "please don’t ban them they didn’t know!"... it looked almost like an abusive relationship. The server is closed so Im not in there any more... but I was suprised to find out how much borderline stockholm syndrome his current fans have.

He goes on about people cherrypicking very old things he's said and using it against him, but it's too recent and too often. He goes on about twitch cherrypicking which games they want banned simply because they don’t like them... when that’s exactly what yandev does when it comes to facing criticism (something which, every large youtuber has had to do).

I see people saying that if you don’t like something, just ignore it - which is totally true. Here though... he’s sucking up cash from people who don’t realise what’s going on, or who haven’t been given the full picture by him. I don’t think he even wants to work on this game any more, but that’s just speculation!

Digimon frontier ocs?

Randomly started rewatching CactusCasual's great Digimon Frontier critique series. He's leaving youtube soon and making the weird decision to delete his whole account and everything he's ever done. But he's uploaded a bunch of his best stuff to google drive so if people wanna keep.it they can. Still i think its a lil dumb to not just leave the account open even if you're not using it? I dont know anything about why he's quitting the site though so maybe he has his reasons.

ANYWAY this got me thinking again about how Frontier is so goddamn boring and weirdly cliche and badly paced, and like everyone just focuses on "but they changed how digivolution works" and ignores all the actual reasons its bad. Like, kids have fused with digimon in previous seasons too! And haven't we all wished we could be the awesome characters like angemon and etc? A digimonny power rangers henshin thing isnt an inherantly bad idea, it was just executed badly. I dislike it cos it meant we completely lost any sort of digimon and human bonding experience plotline. They gave us two recurring digimon characters but they were just basically a pokedex and the world's least funny comic relief. Gimme a version of the show where the kids actually talk to their "spirit evolutions"! Like maybe they have a digimon partner but its forever stuck in baby form or spirit egg form and cant fight without fusing with a human host? Or just give us a better non-combat digimon pal like bokomon and neemon but like.. Fully developed with their own character arc and relationships with everyone else. Maybe ophanimon could have been around the whole time and been a mentor and parental figure? And we could actually explore her moral ambiguity, cos seriously the show makes her kind of a "ends justify the means" asshole and just NEVER AKNOWLEDGES IT. Wtf was up with that scene where she illusions Cherubimon with a fake dream of him being purified and getting to just go back home and be friends? And then she just backstabs him and we never mention it again. Like seriously even if she couldnt actually cure him that scene at least revealed that he WANTED to be cured and it made him so much more sympathetic! If he can be reasoned with, maybe they could have talked him down and then gone on an adventure together to find an actual cure for him? Also seriously what is up with his entire plot! Cos he just gets 'infected with darkness' cos he 'had darkness in his soul' but its just cos he thought the humanoid digimon were being racist against the beast digimon? And like.. The council was 2/3rds humanoid with him as the only beast representative and since he got infected by evilness they never remotely tried to recruit a new one or listen to what beast digimon have to say. So he was kinda right, yo! Also wtf with the reveal that actually no everything we just said is pointless because his REAL motivation was just blindly obeying ANOTHER humanoid digimon that comes out of nowhere to be the final boss. Also what is up with all the increased sexism in this series!! Its so weirdly worse than even adventure which had the excuse of being "a product of the times" yet still had way better variety of female characters and less bigoted stuff! And frontier came right after tamers which was one of the best series for gender equality and even used the medium of the setting as an opportunity to talk about the subject. Shame they censored that in the dub tho, Renamon talking about how digimon have no biological sex and how she only came to think of herself as a girl when she came to the human world. And rika's family accepting her and inviting her to family girls's night and stuff! Like as a metaphor for transgender issues it really worked to try and explain it to a younger audience in a natural way. And then one season later in frontier we have ONLY ONE GIRL IN THE CAST and wah wah whining about fashion and oh no she cant ever win a fight and her goddamn spirit form is in skimpy lingerie despite her being 12, and the show is always perving on her! And then she loses her powers halfway through the first season without winning a single fight, and has to be the damsel in distress to motivate the dudes in a stupid love triangle. And even when she does get to fight she's only allowed to fight the ONE SINGLE GIRL ON THE VILLAIN TEAM and they have stupid slap fights and "who's the most pretty" and BEACH EPISODE and GAHHHHH

...anyway as you can see i have a lot of reasons why i didnt really like the series. But what i meant to make this post about (BEFORE I GOT DISTRACTED) is that the fundemental concept itself isnt bad, they just wasted all its potential. And its a really good concept for ocs! Make your own digi superhero person and explore the fragmented world doing stuff offscreen during the series! Like they left so much open?? We know that other kids also got on other trains to the digiworld and they all just failed or gave up or got captured by the bad guys. And we know there's a bunch of spirits that the heroes never use because the villains got them again, so its cool to imagine an alt universe where the roles were swapped. What if different kids became the chosen heroes? What if different spirits were corrupted by the villains? What would a good guy Grumblemon be like? What would the kid be like who got that spirit? Would their evolution form be wildly different from grumblemon? Do the villain forms and purified forms look as different as Duskmon and Lowemon did?

SO MUCH POTENTIAL!!!

So yeah i wasted so much space here blabbering, so i'll probably make a separate post about my oc ideas lol. But i'd love to see other people's ideas for ocs/reinterpretations/other ways to fix that wasted potential!

So! Digimon frontier oc ideas!

To start off,have an undeveloped idea of someone on the team having Angemon as their spirit evolution. Cos it would have made the transition to such a new series a lot easier if they had some sort of "hey this is for you" to the fans of the previous ones. And angemon is the Adventure digimon that already looks the most like a regular human in a weird mask.

SPEAKING OF WHICH! less regular humans in weird masks! Whats the point of "you turn into a digimon" if you dont turn into a digimon? Like i know the whole gimmick is "humanoid mode and beast mode" but even the beast modes often look like humans in a costume! And there's been so many humanoid digimon before who actually looked like HUMANOID MONSTERS rather than just normal dudes cosplaying! There's literally nothing "monster" about agunimon, he's just a guy in some knight armour. Like the most you can do is charitably assume maybe the horns are his own and not just attatched to the helmet. And its annoying cos the villains have way cooler evolutions! And also double annoying that they always bend the humanoid/beast rule in such transparently self serving ways. Tommy gets two beast forms cos he's meant to be the cute mascot-looking character. Zoey gets two human forms cos she's meant to be grossly sexualized all the time. When kouichi turns from bad to good he loses his interesting looking actually monsterous evolutions and just becomes another dude in an armour. A friggin palette swap of his brother!

Ideas for ocs!

I was thinking of a main girl character who's basically just a "fuk u" to all the stereotypes they did with Zoey. Actually gets a monster lookin beast form and a warrior lookin human form and actually gets to goddamn fight! Maybe her name is Hilda or Hildegarde? And i'm imagining her as a chubby nerdy kid with glasses and curly hair and a super cute oversized sweater kind of fashion sense. And her main spirit form would be this super badass lady knight giant orc thing who can Protec All The Peoples! Maybe earth element or the irony of being light element but she's this big ol monster goblin with just a tiny pair of angel wings on the back, lol! And then her personality is normally super shy and socially anxious, but she actually finds the digimon world kind of freeing? She's a total badass in battle and acts like a big ol powerful protector of all her friends! And she's always super excited aboyt adventuring and gets carried away comparing stuff to her favourite books. And now we must learn everything about this new place!! TO THE DIGI LIBRARY!!! So she's able to be confident and bubbly when it comes to actual adventure stuff, but she's still shy about regular life and anything social. Maybe its her weakness? Like she's scared about going home because she thinks she'll be "just a nobody" again, and lose all the great friends she made here. And also maybe a backstory of her heroic side still existing even before she got magic powers, but in the most tragic way? She managed to fend off a burglar once all on her own, she just snapped and did everything possible to defend her family, even though this was a man three times her size! But instead of being seen as a hero it just made all the neighbours and kids at school spread rumours about her being dangerous. Oh she must be in *a gang* if she knew how to fight like that! Oh its so *dangerous* for a kid that age to have such anger inside! Maybe she's a *scary mentally ill person*! So the whole situation ruined her social status even more and made her retreat even more inside her shell. And this is why the circumstances of the digital world are such a wish fullfillment for her and she's so scared of just waking up and it all being a dream. I think the villains could manipulate her fears, and it could maybe lead to her Skullgreymon Moment?

And then another idea i had was for a trans boy? I just thought this would be a good framework to explore LGBT stuff. He'd maybe be the wind element? And his personality would be very "classic shonen hero" but without the "dumbass" part, instead he's the cynical planner type dude while Hilda is the "i didnt even think, i just wanted to save everyone" type. But he's still super peppy and tries to be the class clown all the time so people will like him, and loves to climb trees and stuff. I think maybe his fighting style would be all about trickery and random chance? If there was such a thing as an element of surprise then he'd have that one! And then his story is that he doesn't have anyone supporting him for who he truly is at home, and he's afraid that his new friends will call him a freak too if they find out. He took the opportunity and cut his hair short as soon as this adventure started, and just introduced himself to everyone as a boy. But he's scared that people will find out he "lied" even though he didnt, he's just been so beaten down with the idea that he's not allowed to be himself and he has to pretend to be everyone else's idea of an ideal cis man or else they'll reject him. So maybe he starts off a bit obsessed with cliche masculinity and has low confidence about himself? And this could reflect in his digivolutions actually changing! He starts off with a really over the top buff warrior dude form, even though his fighting style is entirely about speed and trickery. So he tends to get into trouble with this fake form getting in the way of his ability to fight. And then when everyone accepts him he gets all powered up and changes into a new form! A way less "cliche macho" dude who looks like a stage magician instead and actually synchronizes with his element to become super powerful! And he's all like "oh no i became less manly" but everyone is like "wtf dont let yourself believe you're any less of a man because of dumb stereotypes!" And Also Big Friendship Hugs.

And then maybe this provides a resolution to both him and Hilda's plots? Like when the story is over they still stay friends in the real world, and having a friend who supports them gives them enough power to withstand all the haters and stay confident in themselves. But itd be kind of a coincidence for all the digidestined to live in the same city lol! So maybe in real life they live at least a few towns away, and they become long distance pals who send letters/emails. Because I LOVE ALL MY LONG DISTANCE PALS!! Also itd make sense to have a Internet Good message in a digimon show, lol.

And then i dunno about the rest of the team yet but i thought itd be good to have a sort of moral divide? Like these are the two who have a shitty home life and dont want to leave the digital world. But then the other half of the group has big reasons to wanna go home. So the villains could play on this difference in goals and make them fight amoungst each other. Just generally make the villains more actually competant, yknow? Oh also if there's a Dark Agunimon on the villains he needs to be EVEN MORE of a boring human in a costume! Cos it sucks that all the villains have better character designs and the show seems to think theyre worse ones. Give me one case of more boring not meaning more heroic!

The Servitors: Chapter one: The Break out

Clawed hands racked down a metal cell wall leaving engravings and causing sparks to light up the darkness the hands owner belonged to. "This is bullshit... its inhumane, Ive got rights ya known" roared a voice from the cell. The cells occupant stood over six feet tall with a muscular build, black leathery skin with red veins, clawed hands and feet just as sharp with fangs and leathery wings petruding from his back. "Will you please shut up Paul? Are you so naïve to think that their just going to come up to the cell and let us out?" questioned a athletic woman with golden blonde hair and stone grey eyes. Paul looked over to the back wall of the cell they had been kept in the fire demon had made multiple tick marks to show the passage of time, to no avail though as he, the blonde half demon witch Beatrice or their partner the ice demon Frostbite even remembered when they'd been captured.

Paul musings were suddenly interrupted by Frank groaning, Frank by stood at about well over seven feet with a door frame body, fair caucasian skin, jet black hair and the looks of a dime store thug. "Whens meal time, im hungry" Frank mumbled aloud to no one at all with the look of a kicked puppy tugging a t his grey prisoners uniform. "Food?" Beatrice quired with a look of annoyance on her face "do you have any idea what these humans have been doing to our kind in here?" Beatrice asked Frank cupping his face like a small child's. Beatrice being the leader their little paranormal trio often had to come up with the plans, strategies and keep her two demon "henchman" in check but these were dire times. Ever since the paranormal who'd been dubbed the "unifying king" by humans and paranormals alike had risen the world had gotten stranger, a whole lot stranger.

Humans had developed newer, larger weapons to kill paranormals with and technologies along with them such as the new cell they'd been staying in. Beatrice couldn't allow herself to wander though despite everything she considered her two henchmen demons her family. "I heard that he goes around punishing humans who attack our kind and punishing our kind who attack humans. Like some dammed hall monitor" Frank said cheerfully with tinge of dread to his friends. "Yeah well the unifying son of a bitch had better shine his all seeing eye on us" Paul sated as he shifted back into his human form of tall muscular black male "Im tired of waiting to die". "Screw that" Beatrice spat "im not waiting for some random miracle to happen before im carted off to get experimented on." Beatrice wasn't stupid even without her paranormal hearing and other senses she'd still have heard the screaming of others of her kind werewolves, vampires, fairies and all the others.

Even other humans who used to hunt down paranormals called "Gargareans" weren't even sparred the indignities of the poking and prodding of their captures. "All I know is im getting us out even if I have to sell my soul to servitude" Beatrice said inwardly to herself and went to sit back on her cell bunk leaning her head up against the molded waxy cell wall and closed here eyes and drifted to sleep dreaming of her heyday in Detroit Michigan and her father Michio Montes. "Hey goldilocks wake up something's going on" Beatrice heard Paul say as her jerked her awake along with the sound of alarms "This had better be important or Im gonna be very upset Paul" Beatrice groaned to her would be second in command and found Frank standing at their cell bars in his black skinned, blue veined demon form with cold air rolling off his tense body as if he were a block of dry ice. "Cant you feel it?" Frank asked his voice sounding like razor blades. Despite the sound of the alarms Beatrice stretched her senses as far as she could and found what Frank had been so tense about, the ground was trembling it was subtle but it was there and it was getting less and less subtle. Paul grinned "At this rate the whole place will be destroyed". "Yeah dumbass and us too" chimed Beatrice as they watched the human scientist and personell scurry like mice trapped in a maze. "Whoever's here has them scarred shitless" Beatrice thought "I wonder what our guest is after".

Their cells had been built to withstand their elemental powers so their was no way of getting out at least not so far, so whatever was coming was going to have an audience, them. The sounds of explosions filled the air along with fire and debris as if the entire facility had been hit with napalm or mortier fire. "Hey "B" look over there, whose that?" Paul asked like child at his first magic show meeting a magician for the first time. "Hang on ill take a peek" Beatrice focused her vision down the corridor past the debris, flames and smoke spying a figure. "Who the hell is that?" Beatrice whispered as she could make out a figure in a brown sport coat, white shirt and black dress shoes. The figures face was abscured due to the smoke but Beatrice could make out his fine cuacasian skin, a muscular build underneath his close, dark neck length hair and glowing amethyst eyes. Then she spied his right hand, it was wielding a bronze engraved handle silver blade rapier sword, stained in blood. Beatrice quickly jerked back as the figure turned his attention towards her Paul, and Frank. "Oh shit he's coming this way" Paul said as he fearfully shifted into his leathery black demon form pushing Beatrice behind him for protection.

Beatrice quickly shifted into her demon form as well her skin became leathery black with white veins, clawed hands and leathery wings awaiting what ever came for them. The figures foot steps grew louder and louder with each step until he stopped in the middle of the cell block, he looked around with sadness in his amethyst eyes taking in the scenery before him. The figure spoke with a booming voice so all could hear him "MY FELLOW PARANORMALS AND HUMANS, YOUR IMPRISONMENT IS AT AN END". He then gripped the bronze handle of his silver edged rapier sword causing a bright flash of light to erupt around his body. No longer was the figure garbed in a fine brown sports coat and dress shoes but instead a long sleeved dark leather coat, bronze spualdered short skirted body armor, gauntlets , grieves and a visored helmet. 

"GLORY TO ARDOR, ALL HAIL THE UNIFYING KING" the entire cell block erupted cheers and clanging applause from their cells their messiah had come for them, he'd saved them. Beatrice was not impressed at all she because she Paul, and Frank barred grudges against Ardor Joncour alias The Unifying King from long ago. "Oh please, what a show off" Beatrice leaned against the wall waiting for the crowds roars to die down. The Unfiying King raised his rapier sword silencing the inmates cheers "Though I give you this freedom know this. Those who abuse it will face the most dire of consequences, Do you understand me?"

The Unifying king waited for everyone's response. All at once every paranormal and human in a cell bent a knee kneeling to the Unifying King in thanks and alligence. All but three. The Unifying King turned his helmeted head towards Beatrice, Paul and Frank casting his steely gaze towards them like a spotlight. "Oh you've got to be kidding me" mumbled Beatrice as she noticed all the other paranormals and humans eyeballing daggers into them. Beatrice knew when she was beaten and this was one of those times, thus she bent her knee and kneeled her alligence towards the Unifying King Paul and Frank soon followed. With their mini rebellion thwarted the Unifying King turned his attention towards the facilities ceiling swinging his rapier sword upwards sending a blue wave of energy towards the ceiling crashing it open like a egg shell leaving a gapping upwards hole to the world above. The Unifying King gripped the bronze handel of his rapier sword shifting out of his bronze armor and into his normal clothing erupting a beautiful pair of transparent light construct wings from his back. "Remember my words and live your lives" The Unifying King stated as he spread his wings and the degenerated them extending his hand towards a caged werewolf "guide yourself towards the light my friend, its ok". Cautiously the werewolf opened his cell door and stepped on the floor of the cell block taking the Unifying Kings hand and then walked towards the light and began walking towards light crawling upwards through the tunnel to the surface.

Beatrice watched from her cell and grimaced as every paranormal and human prisoner flooded the cell block floor and scurried towards the light like flies to a bug zapper. "What bunch a of fucking psychophants" Beatrice quickly shifted back into her human form, tied her blonde messy hair into a ponytail and straightened her grey prison uniform as much was allowed and headed towards the Unifying King with Paul and Frank in tow. "So your majesty, what's next? You planning on feeding the poor too?" Beatrice asked the Unifying King rolling her grey eyes while being flanked by her two demons. The Unifying King turned to face Beatrice, Paul and Frank his amethyst gaze piercing into the three. "Ive no intentions of feeding them, they have all the tools they need to survive in the world" The Unifying King shrugged "What can I do for and your friends Beatrice Montes?" The Unifying King asked with genuine curiosity. "ARE YOU SERIOUS???" Beatrice became irate shifting into her demon form swinging punches that could reduce stone walls to dust, the Unifying King dodged them with all the effort of breathing. "You took my father and my whole world from me and you have the nerve to ask me what you can do for me? Beatrice asked through bated breaths shifting between human and demon forms swinging a blow at the Unifying King the he easily caught.

The Unifying King gripped her wrist causing her to knell in pain. Paul and Frank tried rushing the Unifying King but were pushed back by his immense power shown in domed force field he'd erected. The Unifying King was annoyed and his amethyst eyes showed it "Enough, little girl. You feel ive been unjust towards you?" the Unifying King asked "Your father was a criminal and he threatened countless lives with his madness, so yes I and my allies killed him, Id do so again if I had too". The Unifying King released Beatrice from his grip and helped her to her feet his handsome features softening "Your free to do as you please Beatrice Montes but if you feel I owe you then you and your friends can come to my home and stay there as long as you'd like."  Beatrice was confused. She didn't know what to say. She hated this half angel warlock. She wanted him dead and he'd just offered his home up to them no strings attached what was she going to say? She had to consider her options, she and her cohorts had been imprisoned for at least a decade and had nothing and no one to go too. No where to run, nothing in there names but the clothes on there backs. They could leave and try to start up another criminal empire like her late fathers but to what avail to have it destroyed by either the Unifying king, a government agency, or the army no Beatrice and the had no where to run. Beatrice knew what her answer was and cleared her throat "Ok your majesty I and my friends accept your offer. We will be living with you...for the time being" Beartrice kneeled along with Paul and Frank behind her their hushed crumbles speaking their own discomfort for them. The Unifying King smiled winningly at Beatrice and her friends "Ok then its settled! Gather whatever belongings you possesses and we'll be on our way" The Unifying King generated his blue like construct wings and took off into the sky Beatrice shifted into her demon form and motioned for Paul and Frank to do the same spreading her wings taking off towards new and unknown future.

ok im kinda tired from studying all day and i just watched the latest episode, and ive got some thoughts??? but im not in the best state of mind to articulate everything so imma just do some dot points:

- letting everyone have a go as a superhero: i dont agree with; it sort of trivialises that kind of power and is contradictory to master fu’s own experiences with his carelessness,,, like did you even learn anything from hawkmoth lmao... idk why but this thing upset/made me most uncomfortable, it just seems like a lot of carelessness, but tbh this is also a kids show with a kids audience so i guess you do have to sacrifice some elements of common sense/rational thought and action/general consistency with fu’s decisions for some Cool Heroes and Fun New Powers

- leading on from this, what is our position on how we treat kwamis?? : these are sentient beings, these are actual gods ( i think?? i havent read the comics), who are chained to a miraculous. what is our (by that inclusive, im referring to the characters in the show + the actual audience + producers) actual position on them?? so we respect them as mentors and guides + actual gods, but do we also treat them with the same triviality as the miraculous object itself??? something to give away and lock up at will, something to utilise only in times of need?? and those are only in part rhetorical qqs, im genuinely curious and i wont judge if thats the way things are

- chat noir and rena rouge: y’all can argue that their interactions were strictly platonic but imma fight for this; he was blatantly flirting with her. he kissed her hand, he was *casually* leaning against his baton, leaning in towards her, ok admittedly, i know french culture is a lot more direct and touchy than western culture and i havent down my research lmao but it felt a lot like he was interested??? i mean these are the same stuff he does to ladybug??? and alya (maybe she saw it as just platonic) but she also indulged him even tho shes already in a relationship ??? lol idek maybe its just me, but the first introduction made me feel uncomfortable coz of that (the second interaction was much more platonic tho)

- keeping chat noir out of the loop: ive seen a lot about this already on the tags, and 100% agree. at this point i dont know what to make of the relationship between lb and cn. @the ml producers, whether you wanna sell them as partners or as a duo where ladybug is the Main, ill support, but pls: consistency. i feel like theyve always been presented as a partnership, like two parts of one whole, but this ep kinda went against that? marinette has visited fu many times (implied), he allowed her to choose a hero, he himself explained all that detail about the miraculous’ to her, she left chat noir to fend for himself (without explaining the plan) while she went to find fu. adrien, who took gabriel’s book to learn more himself, didnt even get the chance to learn properly. and i bet that had he been given the opportunity to read, lb wouldve been the first person he went to. partnership = developing together, making decisions together, being transparent and clear w/ each other. i didnt see that today. what i saw was something more akin to batman and robin, hero and sidekick

- development/consistency w/ ladybug and chat noir’s (general) relationship: again, ik this is a kids show, and each episode is meant to be independent of each other, and there isnt a fixed sense of continuity. and this dot point sort of touches on the last 2 as well, but a change in the dynamic had so much potential to progress on ladybug and chat noir’s relationship (there could’ve been conflict, there could’ve been insecurities, there could’ve been distance, esp. following the Glaciator ep). the producers could’ve used this opportunity to see a shift in their general relationship + some solid characterisation (in relation to their partnership/dynamic) and actually lay some solid groundwork beyond the whole lovesquare thing.

- alya in general: ok so a positive: some good characterisation for alya. it was gr8 to see some more insight about her family dynamic, her own interactions w/ her siblings, the type of person she is beyond school and the ladyblog. shes undoubtedly worthy to receive that miraculous; headstrong, focused, learns quickly (thats a bonus). but i gotta agree with some of the posts circulating, marinette, as professional as she can be when she has to, is still ultimately biased. master fu tells her himself to choose someone she trusts (according to the translation i got), and doesnt that entail some subjectivity??? thats not to say that she chose her just bcoz theyre friends because marinette would be blind not to see all these gr8 qualities in her bff. but like ppl are saying, i think alya shouldve been chosen by virtue by the guardian, who knows these miraculous’ more than anyone, knows the sort of characters each miraculous is suited to, instead of marinette randomly selecting one and giving it to her best friend.
