Creep refers to the phenomenon of plastic strain over long periods of time, which happens at high temperatures. Grade 7 is mechanically and physically equivalent to Grade 2, except with the addition of the interstitial element palladium, making it an alloy. Grade 7 possesses excellent weldability and fabricality, and is the most corrosion resistance of all titanium alloys. In fact, it is most resistant to corrosion in reducing acids. Grade 9 Ti 3Al 2.5V alloy is an alpha-beta alloy that has  improved strength over commercially pure titanium grades. This grade also has excellent corrosion resistance, formability and weldability. Grade 11 is very similar to Grade 1, except for the addition of a tiny bit of palladium to enhance corrosion resistance, making it an alloy. Ti 6AL-4V ELI, or Grade 23, is the higher purity version of Ti 6Al-4V. It can be made into coils, strands, wires or flat wires.

Either way, you made great company for him while he rested. As Older Donnie had previously pointed out, you were stubborn, and took Older Leos instruction to heart. You would barely let Older Donnie get up to use the bathroom, definitely not letting him go to his newly set up lab to work.

It was strange. Older Donnie asked you about problems your Donnie didn't know about yet, and hed accidently talk about memories your Donnie and you hadn't made yet.

Tonight was no different, soft talks, light laughter, and nostalgia. You were helping him get into his bed, and that's when you caught a glimpse of it again. The necklace with the 2 beautiful bands on it.

So!!!! Got a request to determine Donnie’s strength and the journey was an Interesting One.

So let’s start with the most popular

EXHIBIT A: Dumbbell (Insane In The Mama Train)

He pulls it off with ease (relaxed pose, no real effort exerted until he makes the effort of hefting it and throwing it). Going off the size of these dumbbells, they are either 45lbs or 100lbs. This is a big gap! But seeing as the yokai falls over as soon as its removed, we can assume that Donnie is AT MOST tossing a 100lb weight with little to no effort.

UNFORTUNATELY this doesn’t tell us much else since we don’t see the weight hitting anyone/anything other than the traincar door before it teleports away.

So! We must delve further

EXHIBIT B: Donnie’s Equipment

We know Donnie’s tech bō is made from high grade titanium.

TITANIUM IS A LIGHT METAL! Revered for being light weight, flexible, and rust-proof. Used to make medical tools! This make perfect sense as 1) ninjas need maximum mobility and heavy equipment is counter intuitive, 2) melee weapons are supposed to be LIGHT (see reason 1).

However! This does not stop me from calculating the weight of Donnie’s tech bō regardless.

TO DO THAT, i must first calculate the length of his staff (operating under the assumption that both the ninpo staff and the tech bō are the same in size).

BŌ STAFFS ideally are the same height as the wielder. We are going to use this image (cannot find source) as reference, just like i did w Raph (give or take any growth between season 3 finale and movie)

Donnie is 5’3”, and while i’m here, weighs ~140lbs give or take after plastron, muscle mass, and Bones

The average bō staff has a circumference of about 1-1 1/8th of an inch depending on the length. I’m leaning more towards the larger because of the tech bōs gadgetry and hammerspace.

NOW to calculate how heavy a 5’3” metal pole that’s 1 1/8 inch in width of titanium.

Thankfully the internet is Insane and literally has a calculator that calculates this exact thing.

I was able to come to the conclusion that his tech bō probably weighs no more than approximately 1 pound.

Not very heavy!

What about his battle shell?

WELL it depends! For ease, I’m going to calculate it like a backpack.

The average public school backpack is 12-20 lbs full (heavy and 5-20% heavier than a child SHOULD be carrying to avoid back and neck strain).

I’m going to use measurements from this Random Backpack Website I Found and calculate it as a Medium Backpack (larger than standard) with a laptop pouch, and some minor adjustments since his shell covers him from neck to ass (roughly 24 inches, his height is in his legs)

It’s harder to calculate the shell because he has Different kinds and they’re made of different materials.

I am going to give all of these a base of 66lbs + whatever equipment they have

His Mango shell is probably largely padding with minimal titanium lining

Ice Maker shell is probably heavier. Spider Shell, Drone Shell, are all made w titanium so. Assuming Donnie makes EVERYTHING out of titanium

TECH BŌ: 5’3”, ~1 lb

BATTLE SHELLS:

- Mango: ~66lbs

- Drone: ~150 lbs (including whatever is powering it)

- Ice Maker: ~200 lbs (including ice)

- Spider Shell: ~150lbs

EXHIBIT C: APRIL

WE SEE DONNIE CARRYING/SUPPORTING APRIL A NUMBER OF TIMES. A majority of them i am writing off because he is using his tech to assist.

HE IS just holding her up easily in this shot. After some cursory google searches i determined April O’neil to be ~110lbs soaking wet because she’s 4’8”, petite, and the boys fling her around like she’s made of craft foam.

Conclusion: Donnie can lift/throw a fairly decent 110 pounds, and carry approximately 200lbs

This is a small number after raph’s 20,000 lbs, and i can barely lift an 84lbs dog so I’m not gonna sneeze at it. It does however check out for someone who is physically fit and active (and does backflips and parkour and fights enemies four times his bodyweight)

BUT WAIT!!! PINE!!! WHAT ABOUT…

EXHIBIT D: SUBWAY KRANG (The Movie)

Donnie DOES get bonked pretty hard by a subway car and doesn’t Immediately Die. To determine this I had to calculate the Weight Of A Subway Car and the Breaking Point of Titanium.

Subway car: 82,000lbs empty

119,000lbs full

Because the subway car looks like this

I’m gonna call it full.

Titanium has a tensile strength of 63,000 pounds per square inch.

After determining the size of Donnie’s shell off his body, and how much titanium was used, i cam to the conclusion that…

I CAN’T ACTUALLY CALCULATE it because the shell he was wearing was actually mystic/ninpo made and therefore NOT SOMETHING I CAN CALCULATE! It does explain why Donnie wasn’t Rapidly Dispersed upon being bonked by an INSANE AMOUNT OF FORCE.

This very issue crops up again with the other example of Donnie lifting and slapping down the drill on Shredder in the season finale. That was aided ENTIRELY by ninpo/mystic abilities and therefore incalculable.

My counter to the argument that “their ninpo is gone, it’s not mystic anymore” is that Yes They Could Not Access Their Ninpo, but their ninpo-made weapons were still fully intact, and TECHNICALLY still working, the ability to use them had just been locked away

i also humbly believe that Draxum’s Ooze made the boys’ bones EXTREMELY resilient and capable of absorbing force the same way Captain America’s shield absorbs vibrations — my way of explaining why they sustain little to no injury throughout the series.

That being said, it makes the fact that Donnie couldn’t break open a watermelon AND sprains his ankle pretty badly tripping on a fruit EXTREMELY FUCKING FUNNY TO ME.

TL;DR: Donnie can throw ~110lbs give or take, with a lift/carry of maximum 200lb (maybe a bit more before it hinders his movement speed!)

So this topic has been refreshed in my mind since I went to a rock shop yesterday. For one, everything is way over priced, like low grade 1x1 inch amethyst should not be 30$ and little gemstone bead bracelets should be like 10$, not 25$-70$. I would like to preface this by saying I am getting my degree in geology and have done so much research. But my real qualm is that all these shops literally make up and mislabel rocks all the time and everyone, especially people who use it for their practices, just buy into it. Common things I see being mislabeled or just made up include: -'Blue/turquoise obsidian':

No! That's literally just glass, or at the very least not obsidian. Blue obsidian technically exists but its 1) super rare and expensive and 2) looks almost completely black but has a blue/steelish iridescence. -Literally any color of sardonyx than black/brown/red/white:

This is either dyed or just some other kind of agate. Sardonyx is a combination of Sard (red/brown/orange) and Onyx (black/white). There was only one instance in which I saw anyone say that sardonyx can be green, and it was some dude on Reddit with a picture that had no source or citation. - 'Citrine' Obviously citrine is real but so many people sell fake/heat treated amethyst Fake:

Real citrine tends to be muted yellow and brown, and not very foggy or white. It also has a consistent color throughout. Heat treated amethyst is typically super vibrant in color and bold yellow, gold, or even dark brown. They are inconsistent in color and tend to be darker at the ends, and have white bases. -Aurora/angel aura and titanium quartz

This is just some other kind of quartz that they put some chemical coat on to make it look like that, its not naturally occurring. I just see so many people being misinformed online and in stores, and these are like the most common ones. Also I want to say that I don't care that people are BUYING these, it's not necessarily hurting anyone. I hate seeing people gatekeeping rocks or like yelling at inexperienced practitioners for using the wrong kind of rock but then go on to use heat treated amethyst as citrine (which are chemically different). Literally almost every kind of rock in a rock store is quartz, like aventurine, onyx, sardonyx, agate, jasper, etc. Like telling someone they cant use carnelian and they have to use sard instead is dumb because they're literally both quartz. If you only care about the color of the rocks for your practice, then leave it at that. But telling someone they can't use a specific rock because its going to give them like bad vibes is so necessary and just wrong.

My teacher is getting a metal thing in her neck cuz the discs rub together and send bits of stuff in her spine. She say shes getting a possible fusion. What does a fusion do?

A fusion permanently fuses 2 or more of your vertebrae together using medical grade cobalt chrome & titanium. Usually bars and bolts are used but other types of spinal hardware exist too. Some newer spinal hardwares does not fuse the spine and instead replaces the disc between the vertebrae and are called disc arthroplasty. I have one called mobi-C in my cervical spine. It functions similar to a fusion but it also gives me 80% of the range of motion of a normal spine as opposed to like 0%.

Sal is the definition of extreme. He just hates having to hold himself back because he can’t kill hookers ALL the time. He just kinda sticks to mostly hitting and MAYBE light cutting. If he pays well enough then the hookers will most likely just sweep it under the rug and not mind it because duh, money. The pimps on the other hand might be more pissed that Sal injured their money maker, but as long as it isn’t like a broken bone or something it’s probably forgivable. They won’t give him a taste of his own medicine as long as what he does doesn’t put their hookers out of a job for awhile to heal. Sal is called woundfucker for a reason. He loves fucking wounds! Sal used to do football, and in college I imagine he was part of a boxing club (btw He lost his football scholarship cause he injured his knee). That being said, Sals punches HURT. I don’t know why but I know he just does), and at best use miscellaneous items (a baseball bat, his tennis racket, trust me they hurt! His belt. God he gets such a hard on using his Italian leather belt to choke you out. You get the picture.) He loves it when you fight so so he can break you down.

Sal is such a nasty freak. The porn addiction rotted his brain and so he has to watch some extreme stuff to get off. He’s not above exhibition too. Like (especially if you’re his secretary) he’ll bend you over his desk. And depending on who walks in he’ll either tell them to get out or come inside. If it’s one of his friends he ain’t stopping. He likes flexing that at his age he can still get grade A pussy. Unless you’re a guy. If you’re a guy he’s telling whoever’s knocking on the door to wait and then he’s hiding you.

I was handed a checklist of questions to ask Jr. during session one. Things like his name, age, family, hobbies. Y'know, icebreakers.

Bob escorted me to the visitation room I'd be using. He'd called a few more guards over to get everyone else settled, but I was obviously his favorite.

"Nice place you guys have here," I offered, breaking the silence. "I've heard it's the best protected prison in the country."

"Not th' country. The world." Bob scoffed pridefully. "Not even Superman can break down the defenses."

"Really?" Of course I'd heard that one before, but hey, might as well try and get the guards to not hate you, especially with his earlier comments. "How'd that get managed?"

He gave me what was probably a wary side eye, but with his perpetual scowl it seemed more like a glare. Still, he seemed to be in a good mood.

"Lead re'nforced titanium. Tensill and brute strength? Unmatched. 'S not the only stuff, but those're the main bits."

Before I could ask more questions (probably for the better) we made it to the interview room. Bob stopped me outside the door, his hand resting on the handle.

"'Member what I said, how 'e's potentially violent?"

I nodded, now wary.

How could I forget?

"Well, 'e's typically better 'ith other kids than when adults are nearby. Now, because'a that, you're goin' in alone."

He must have seen the apprehension on my face, because he smiled. Still mocking, but it was there.

"Here's yer panic button." He handed me a small block, a red button in the middle. "It takes a lil' force ta press, 'n alerts the guard station. There always someone in th' hall here, so you'll get help soon."

He clapped my shoulder, hand moving from the doorknob. "Get to it."

And he left.

Great.

Steeling myself, I entered the room.

Junior was already there, hands cuffed in front of him, feet kicked up onto the table. When I stepped in he grinned, cuffs jangling as he pulled his feet off the only 'true' piece of furniture in the tiny, cold room.

"Hey."

I blinked. "Hey."

He gestured to the chair opposite himself, and I took a seat.

"I heard I'd be getting some company. What'd they call it.. future inmate prevention?"

"I.." I certainly hadn't planned for him to start the conversation, and with his growing smile, I could tell he already knew.

"Oh, come on! I won't bite, I promise! It'd really ruin this whole thing for both of us."

I sighed. "Yeah.. yeah. Sorry. I have a few icebreakers."

He snorted, and I could feel a smile of my own start to form.

"Icebreakers? Is that really appropriate?"

"According to the staff, apparently."

He rolled his eyes. "Fine, fine. Hit me."

"Okay. Number one, what's your name?"

"Cameron Mahkent."

"Okay.." I scribbled it onto my sheet, the chipping graphite being the only sound for a moment. "Okay. Question two - how old are you?"

He hummed quietly. "Seventeen."

"Oh!" I couldn't stop the quiet exclamation. "So you'd be a junior, too."

"Yeah? I'm a December baby."

"So you'd be sixteen at the start of the school year.." I had already put the number down, but if the goal was socialization.. "How long did you go to public school? If at all."

"Off and on until.. sixth grade, I think?" He glanced to my right before focusing back on me. "Then dad pulled me completely for training."

"Oh." I blinked before glancing back to the sheet. "Brings us to question three - what's your family dynamic?"

"Mom.. left. When I was about nine. She was going to take me with her, but dad wouldn't allow it." He shrugged, cuffs clinking again as he shifted in his chair. "He's harsh, but hey, tough love."

I didn't really believe him, but it wasn't my place to ask. Not yet.

Instead, I must have frowned, because he paused.

"He's typically in charge here at Belle Reve. The Capo. He rules the Pen with an iron fist."

"Oh.." My eyes widened. "So does that give you any special privileges compared to the other detainees?"

He laughed this time. Not a scoff or snort, but full-on cackling, like I had told the funniest joke in the world.

"Are you kidding?! I don't get treated any better than anyone else - in fact, if people try to overtake dad as Cappo, they shoot for me first.

I blinked and, almost instinctively, pulled my clipboard up.

"Question four.."

I left about thirty minutes later, scribbling the tail-ends of answers onto my paper. A guard had come through the back to pull Cameron aside, and told me it was time to leave.

When I made it back to the check-in area, most people looked traumatized. Jack started off immediately about Blockbuster - he'd been flanked by two guards the entire time.

Will was even worse. Apparently Cameron's dad - Icicle Senior - had been allowed to have one of his personal guards - Mammoth. There were four guards between them - which is why Bob had been so nice as to leave Cameron and I alone together.

Laine had liked Devastation, and Rachel was okay with Shimmer - didn't like her cultist attitude much, with Will saying Mammoth had been the same.

Olivia had hated Psimon from the get-go, but from what she said, it sounded mutual. I felt more sorry for Psimon than I did for Olive, honestly.

Dan..

"Who did you even pull?"

He flashed me a grin. "Poison Ivy."

"And?"

He held his paper up proudly. "She shared her thoughts."

I glanced over it. "Except for family life."

He shrugged, wincing when Bob grabbed the paper from him. "Oh well."

I handed mine to him as well, and he raised an eyebrow.

"It looks like Casey here is th' only one who got answers for everything - family life, criminal history, childhood. Congrats."

I shrugged, glancing at everyone else.

"Really?"

Olive rolled her eyes. "My guy didn't want to answer anything - just kept asking his own questions."

"And Blockbuster didn't want to talk about ANYTHING before his transformation," Will piped in.

"Devastation didn't actually give me another name for her." Lainey shrugged.

I glanced back in the direction of the visitation hall.

"Huh."
