What are you reading now?

Currently I'm reading Entangled Life by Merlin Sheldrake! On my study abroad program I studied fungus with a few other students and we got so into fungi that our TA recommended we check it out, and we decided to make a little reading group out of it. It's a great read so far (though a mycologist I spoke to said, and I quote "Merlin is... okay." (she did not hate on it as strongly as she did other books like Finding the Mother Tree or The Hidden Life of Trees)).

14. Favorite game?

Disco Elysium always and forever but some other current faves are: In Stars and Time, Pentiment, Slay the Princess, and Roadwarden.

21. What is something you have been meaning to try?

Skateboarding!! I've been getting really into the idea of learning how to skateboard so I can get around campus faster and not have to lock up a bike. Also there are so many pretty decks out there...

The question had surprised her, leaving her sitting within her secret hideout quite stunned. Although the Vision Hunt Decree had been ended for some time, Watatsumi Island had been just as busy and productive as ever. The Priestess had problems to deal with left, right and centre. While she was aware that she was an adult, her duty to the island had been sealed from birth, but the restrictions placed upon her only saddened her some days, reducing her energy to do anything down to nothing.

Dating had not been something she thought about often, given her tremendous responsibility and her love for strategy books. Any waking moment she had free, it would be dedicated to learning new ways of defence, offence, preparation for prevention, looking over the methods of perfect execution… the list truly does go on. Although she had such a big passion for that particular novelty, did not mean to say she had not explored romance novels for herself. In actuality, there had been a faint romantic dream she had conjured up in her head for quite some time.

“Well… I do like the idea of staying indoors, hidden from the world with my date,” the mere idea of it made her let out a sigh of relief, her muscles relaxing almost instantly. Staying away from any disturbances, staying in a warm embrace while doing even basic tasks together, such as cooking and cleaning — though, it wouldn’t really count as a proper date. “I have also wanted to explore other nations to find out what provisions they keep in place… I could utilise them for myself.”

MY EXPERIENCE IN THE ROLEPLAYING COMMUNITY* send me a symbol and i'll tell you...

Favorites: Oh god there's so so many.. I don't know if I can choose. Several have been shared with @shxxtteredfantasy I mean Rose and Velvet married and that's adorable! The other ships we have are cute as well. I've also had some really great threads with @ourwinterschnee, @green-x-reaper, @roseicicles, @altruisticandsadistic, @peopleoftheshadows, and @nascentwaves. I can't pick just one, but those are rpers I've had some of my favorite roleplays with.

Worst: There was this one rper... who acted like their writing was really immature, but it was some of the most cringe-worthy stuff I've read. They rped Insane Black Rock Shooter... and their version was... well not good.. They kissed my muse immediately, and then their character started crying and asking for forgiveness when my muse didn't reciprocate?? It didn't help that they only rped in one liners..

Unrelated and not necessarily a rp experience, but there was a male rper who asked me for nudes once... so that was a thing.

It is important to know that for someone like kafka, attachment is not something that is formed easily. (Eg: She held no attachment to her home planet and only finds it a shame that she wasn’t able to see how far it fell thanks to the effects of the stellaron.) 

And when she does get attached, the entanglement between both parties is something unhealthy. Simply put: If you tell her that you would kill for her or that you would die for her, then this is something she expects you to prove. She will drive you to extremes in order to ‘convince’ her that you adore her. The more desperate, obsessive, pitiful and self-destructive you become, the more entertained she is, the more she’ll want to keep you around. 

Inversely: If you hate her with every single shred of your living being, if you are consumed by rage and revenge, if the only way that awful energy can dissipate is by taking her life, she will make sure you chase her to the ends of the earth. Instead of being frightened, it once again entertains her. That obsessiveness is something she will continue to fuel. 

Either way: People who end up in her path will always suffocate themselves struggling in her web. 

The only exception to this, which is very very rare, is if you become someone she is capable of caring for. Someone she sees as an equal. Someone who can provide a source of fun without becoming the source of fun. (Ie: the Stellaron hunters, the trailblazer (I have a theory that they are the first out of the stellaron hunters to have their wish fulfilled but that is smth to expand on eventually)). But even then you can never really be sure if you can genuinely believe her, can you?

Even with four little siblings who are growing kids, she still had plenty of food to go around. She wanted to make sure she was being a good neighbor too, though only the ones she felt comfortable with anyway so far Iris was a pretty nice person in her books.

Top 5 things you love about the RPC

Oh this could be fun. Lemme think.

-I really enjoy interpretations of media, and personally think there isn't a correct answer to the ambiguity presented (Lis is very anti authorial intent). So seeing how different people write the same muse differently, giving them different motivations and interpretations of their traits, really makes me happy.

-I have met a lot of really kind people that have become dear friends in different RPCs. So the way that it develops bonds and friendships.

-Similar to my first point, I really like what people create so seeing original characters always makes me so happy.

-I very much enjoy creative free writing, particularly to relax, so being able to do so in a community is just peaceful and relaxing.

-Making icons is really relaxing and it gives me a good reason to do so.
