So I made an update not too long ago about our sweet orange boy Phoebus. He has lymphoma and was doing really poorly last month, but we're trying an alternate chemo to get us some more time with him.

He IS doing better, but his treatment has been expensive. On top of the chemo, he has 6 different medications. We also have to take care of Obi's seizure meds as well.

We're making it work, but it is taxing. SO! I'm doing a full etsy shop sale to hopefully mitigate some of the costs! Everything is 20% off! This covers everything- prints, minis, coloring books, mousepads, etc.

My house caught on fire.

There was a gas leak in the kitchen of my house and it caught fire, we lost all our kitchen stuff and some our living room got burned too. Thankfully our neighbors helped contain the fire, so most of the house is alright.

My mother, my auntie and my grandma got burned, my mom and my auntie went to the hospital, but my grandma was ok. We're still seeing if my mom and auntie will be ok, but it does not seems to be anything life threatening.

I don't know how much we need to help because I am writing this a couple hours later of the fact, but I'll leave donations open and leave commissions open indefinitely for a while if people prefer to go that way.

🕯️How to use your leftover wax🕯️

💨from candles that don't light anymore 💨

Here are a few techniques :

1. BOILING WATER 💦🕯️

Bring water to a boil & pour it in your candle container. I've tested with & without covering, but haven't noticed much of a difference.

Pros: when it solidifies, it gives you a nice slab of wax. It only requires a kettle.

Cons: some candle require to do this process multiple times & there is some wax left in the container that you need to wash out.

2. BAIN MARIE 🛁🫙

Fill a pot with a little bit of water, put a bol on top of it (no plastic). Remove the wax from your candle container as best you can & put it in the bowl. It will slowly melt.

Pros: Allows you to pour the wax in a new container easily. Allows you to add ingredients to your candles while the wax is liquid.

Cons: Requires a pot & a bowl. You can burn yourself. You need to clean the bowl afterwards.

3. MICROWAVE 📺 💡

I don't use this, but I guess it works. You should scrape the inside of your candle to put the wax in a microwave safe bowl. Cook slowly, 10 or 20 seconds at a time. Pour in another container once melted.

Pros: I'm not sure honestly. I guess it's convenient? Efficient?

Cons: Might mess up a bowl. You'll have to clean it. Might take a long time.

Keep me updated if any of you try these for the first time! I hope this helps!

I got to show off my new and improved tip jar at Midlands Comic Con over the weekend and I'm pretty jazzed about it! It matches my table cloth so nicely and I think that It looks super cute ^.^ Tipping isn't really a big thing in the UK but I like to give folks the option just in case they want to support my work without committing to housing a piece of art :)

Hey, Y'all!

Just an update on what I'm up to atm.

I'm still unable to work since having Covid last fall. My fatigue continues but it seems like I keep developing new mystery ailments that are evading diagnosis and don't seem to be affected by medication. I'd like to keep trying to solve them so I can get my life back but, as I'm sure you can imagine, specialists and procedures and medication are expensive, especially for someone who can't work. Which leads me to my next point:

I've just released new art and jewelry in my shop!

I've got handmade jewelry, new curiosities, a new birthday card design, and everything that I previously had, as well! Go check it out!

hey! so i have no idea to go about this, but here goes -- if you're interested in 'tipping' me for any of the graphics i do, or videos i make, or essays i write (or anything else), i have a tip jar here (via ko-fi).

it's a thing i'm opening up while i'm in school again. it's mainly to help me get by each week, since working regularly will be difficult. (my school hours as they are, i only sometimes have evenings and weekends available, and the way my art-making works, i can at least do it virtually anywhere/anytime, so long as i have my laptop.)

for those wondering, i'm studying theatre directing just outside of London, for my MFA, with the hopes of getting my PhD two years from now, and working as a theatre creative and academic here in the UK.

i'm considering opening up commissions for digital art/video editing efforts -- would anyone be interested? definitely negotiable on rates, but if there's a song you're dying to hear set to one of your favorite fandoms, or a rarepair you'd like graphics/gifs of that you'd love to see in the world, consider me!
