Meta denied any liability or wrongdoing under the settlement, according to the recently created class-action website. However, the agreement means that U.S. residents who used Facebook between May 24, 2007, and December 22, 2022, can file a monetary claim as long as they do so before August 25, 2023.

So we were (thankfully) able to cover most of the charges that came out on the first and pay our storage units. We have two more loan payments coming out on the 10th but I'm not as worried about those as I am the larger loans I have. I make $1200 a month, and I might be able to get help with the two I just made payments on, but the loan I have to make the first payment for on August 3rd is $550, and that's going to wipe me out and I have to have $1000 saved by August 18th to more into temporary (but more stable) housing.

I probably will continue to pay one of the two smaller loans if I can pay one of them off, or pay the largest loan if I can pay the smaller two off, but either way I want to make payments on them to knock what I owe down/pay them off completely, so any help at all would be utterly amazing. And any help raising the $1000 for housing in August would be much appreciated.

EDIT: You guys. We might have an apartment soon! I got an email Friday afternoon from one of the complexes we were waitlisted at, and they want us to come in and do the move in packet. I need to come up with $75 for the application fees, plus $525 for my mom's current overdraft/Speedy Cash loan payment and $445 for my current overdraft/Speedy Cash loan payment, and I need to knock down at least the two smaller loans, but yeah. I am so excited!

Braah Alrashid and Hibatallah Suleiman are fifth-year medical students at Ahfad University for Women in Sudan. They have been best friends since 2017.

They began their journey at Ahfad Medical School in September 2017. Despite the unstable situation in Sudan — from the Revolution in 2019 through the COVID-19 lockdown and now the ongoing war — they remain dedicated students with two years left to graduate!

On April 15, 2023, when war broke out in Sudan, their lives were shattered and fell apart. They lost everything —  homes, land, loved ones, and most sorrowfully,  dreams. They have been forcibly displaced from state to state, exhausting all family savings, and have now ended up in Egypt.

They once dreamed of becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon and a psychiatrist. Ahfad University has decided to collaborate with the Arab Academy for Science and Technology in Egypt, El-Alamein. Unfortunately, the tuition fees are $4,960 per student, which they cannot afford due to the ongoing financial hardships their families are facing because of the worsening war. They humbly ask for your generous support to help collect the fees before the deadline on September 1.

hi, i'm ri & i'm an autistic nonbinary trans guy-lite-ish person. 4 years ago i moved out to denver from mississippi (where i was born & raised) & immediately had a massive improvement in my quality of life. i was able to access medical & psychiatric care, my career stabilized, people were addressin me with correct terms for the most part, & i was startin to feel like life had finally begun

unfortunately when the lease ran out on our house end of summer last year my roommates decided not to renew, & then the people who were gonna be my new roommates backed out last minute. in a panic i looked for other options but with time runnin short & top surgery approachin i decided to recover at a friend's house & move back to mississippi once my surgeon cleared me to travel cross country so i could regroup somewhere i figured would be less expensive & at least somewhat familiar

that, friends, was a very costly & painful mistake! every single problem that made me wanna move away in the first place has only exacerbated!

i'm comin up on 8 months post top surgery, i have a beard, & i'm still gettin called ma'am/she/her. trump flags & signs still adorn many yards/porches here. hatred & bigotry run rampant in local politics. the other day i didn't even enter one of the convenience stores in the town where i live when i stopped by because they had posted a very thinly veiled racist sign on the door

when i arrived back here i was not even a full month outta surgery & i had a minor complication, so i went to the emergency room cause what else was i sposed to do? applied for charity as i had around $100 to my name at that point, which i THINK? got approved? also applied for mississippi medicaid the same day, which got denied almost outright as i have no children. so i've been uninsured since november & rationin the 3 month supply of my psych/migraine meds i received before leavin colorado for goin on 7 months. never mind bein able to access hrt!

job prospects here are Not Great! i've had to collect unemployment for a while as i cannot for the life of me find a full time job with a livin wage. otherwise i literally cannot make ends meet as the jobs i've held so far down here are payin average 50% or less of what i was makin in denver. even with the part time gigs i've had i have yet to crack 30hr/wk on any kind of regular basis

housin is an absolute shitshow. my lease is up 1 july (got a month extension) & i've been searchin everywhere for an affordable place of my own or at least a good roommate. the more affordable studio/1bd apartments go for around $700 & up, but most have income requirements of 2.5-3x the monthly rent which, considerin previous point abt wages, is near impossible. roommate listins are available but the majority are questionable at best & seekin a live-in bangmaid at worst

with all these considerations i spent the past few weeks feelin worse & worse lookin for somewhere close to the job i currently have. the leases are like 6mo-1y so i was picturin another year down here & how i was gonna survive, let alone thrive. my thoughts got darker & darker. i'd wake up in the mornin & be sad/disappointed i'd survived the night

i snapped a few days ago. said to myself "if i'm destined to struggle wherever i go, i'd rather do it somewhere i actually Wanted to be in the first place" & started applyin for housin in denver. waitin to hear back from my first option & have secured a backup with a friend with a spare room for 6mo in case that falls through

CAR EMERGENCY + NEED TO COME UP WITH RENT!

Our car died today. Apparently the power steering belt snapped off and one of the things supporting it fell off our car. We already have other repairs that we need done, so we need to raise about $3000 total, with at least $1000 before they can buy parts.

I also have to pay the movers who helped me move storage units $765 after what I already paid, and I'd like to pay them as quickly as possible.

Please spread this far and wide. I can't walk the mile it is to connect to the bus stop to get places so we desperately need to get the car fixed. And we just got rehoused and really don't want to be homeless again.

Hi. I need some help again. (Time-sensitive)

I can confirm that my mom and I escaped our abusive environment and are somewhere safer, but things have gotten rough. My mom is disabled and needs to get her medicine, but she can't afford the copay or an Uber trip to pick it up. I am unemployed and undiagnosed, so I don't have a consistent form of income to help her with this either. I'm really worried about what might happen if she's unable to keep taking her medicine.

The both of us are also running out of food. My mom receives disability aid each month, but almost all of the money was spent on rent, bills, and paying off loans. The remaining amount went towards food, but it's not going to last long enough before she gets her next payment. She's also worried that we may run out of some household essentials.

I'm trying to find ways to get work in a way that I can reasonably handle (remote jobs, graphic design, and/or digital art), but it's going to take me more time than I can afford, and the aid I need right now is time sensitive.

Tomorrow (10/6/2024) is the last day that my mom can pick up her medicine. I need about $45 to help her go get it and also afford the copay. As for food, I believe it will last us a few more days but I'm not sure what's going to happen after that. I may need around $170 to account for both that and household necessities.

Making a new commissions post since things have been getting worse this year, especially this month. For those who don't know, my name is Link, I'm twenty three and since November 2021, my family and I have been homeless. I live with my younger sibling and my father, we all live in a motel and right now, covering just a days rent and even food has been a hassle. Hello. This is a very quick poll, as I don’t have a whole lot of time until Mother gets home and I’ll have to wait until she leaves tomorrow to do this. There is a barber shop near me, and I have the cash to go. I have had multiple panic attacks about my hair length; but people around me desperately want me to keep it long because they find it beautiful. I’ve only ever gotten compliments from other people (that aren’t my family) on my physical appearance, other than my eyes, while having shorter hair, because I feel more confident and happy that way.

I’m shaky, tired, and stressed as I type this but-

Um…I have stayed the extent of the time I’ve been able to stay with the folks I’m currently staying with. I had stayed a few months already. Since mid-May 2023. No one expected me to come and stay this long. They were able to house me longer term. Life just had other plans. They did as they were able. They know my situation. They, nor I, can’t control the systems and all. But I do need to go.

I’ve received 30 days notice. They can extend a week, but no further (thus the 37 days). I’ve put in housing applications, to help with housing, and I’ve checked with other friends that I could possibly stay at, in this state at least. But neither are able to take me in. Which I knew already as they explained their situations and I’m not going to add myself to the mix of their daily lives. I’m grateful for the family I’ve been with and their hospitality. I have run out of options in terms of safe places to stay. I saw it coming a few weeks back I just…

Everything I’ve worried about came flaring up again. I can’t go back to my abusive mom. Nor any of my family, as the majority of them are Christians. I don’t want to live in that atmosphere anymore. The only reason I know the folks I’m in is because of an ex-partner, and their network which…I’m no longer dating due to traumatic reasons. I have reached out to others to see what else I can do immediate-wise.

I don’t…I don’t know what else to do; or where else to go atm within state. It’s bad timing too, just on my part, It’s getting cold. I haven’t located my winter coat. The most I have is my winter boots and sweatpants and sweatshirts as winter clothing; along with other things, which may not even all fit in my one suitcase.

I knew it was coming but…It……I’m…really fucking scared. So I come to y’all. I will…turn off my throne wishlist for now. Without an address to send things to, I can’t receive them without complications. 30 days from now is November 12, 2023; 37 days is November 19, 2023.

I’ll pack starting tomorrow. I…need financial support, encouragement, love, or…miraculously a place I can call my own without a landlord involved. Landlords are already shitty in majority. Very little are truly good folk.

I don’t want to be driven to the dark depths of my mind that put me in where I may take my own life as it’s better than this constant up and down whiplash of lash. I’m not in that state of mind. I would like to keep it that way. I have promises to keep. Promises that keep me alive and would affect many if I don’t keep them.
