media i could talk about for hours
Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse (dir. Peter Ramsey, Bob Persichetti, Rodney Rothman) & Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse (dir. Joaquim Dos Santos, Justin K. Thompson, Kemp Powers) You know ther story, after being bit by a radioactive spider, Miles Morales becomes Spider-Man and soon is embroiled in a battle to save the multiverse after he collides with alternate versions of himself. These two movies are easily, in my opinion, some of the greatest feats of animation I've ever seen. With the clear and concrete understanding of the rules of animation, the brilliant animation team, bend and break those rules so perfectly to fit the story and to further foreshadow the storyline. Plus, with an amazing two soundtracks produced by Daniel Pemberton and Metro Boomin, respectively, the movie has this amazing connection with lovers of hip hop and trap music.
Saltburn (dir. by Emerald Fennel) in which wealthy Felix sympathises with his newfound friend's living situation and invites him to spend the summer with him and tragedy soon engulfs the entire family. Okay first of all, that synopsis does not do the movie justice, anyone who's seen Saltburn will back me up on this, but there's truly no combination of words that could even begin to describe the beauty of both the plot and visuals of Saltburn. The story and plot simply unrivals anything else I've seen, the use of music throughout was absolute perfection and iconic. If you've not seen it yet, you really should.
Fleabag (dir. Harry Bradbeer, Tim Kirkby (pilot)) based on the book written by the wonderfully witty Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Fleabag is a series following a woman (known only as Fleabag) with a dry sense of humour navigating life and love in London whilst dealing with the grief of her best friend. The series is nothing short of pure, unbridled brilliance, it is raw and real and honest and so tenderly human. It is one of those shows that left me wishing I could relive watching it for the first time, over and over.
Bojack Horseman (created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg) a show about a humanoid horse, a famous 90s sitcom star, who struggles with substance abuse amidst his desire for a comeback. The series took place over six seasons and follows the growth of Bojack and his friends. Bojack Horseman encouraged me to question several of my own morals while confronting the complexity of people and the complexity of morality. And yet, it does this so simplistically, almost without you really realising it, captivating your attention in a spell. It also targeted many real-world issues without being overwhelming. A truly binge-worthy show.
Someone Great (dir. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson) dumped by her long-term boyfriend, music journalist (played by Gina Rodriguez) recruits her two best friends for one last outrageous adventure before she leaves that chapter of her life for good. Now, I think Someone Great did the perfect job of depicting love, in all its form and stages, in such a visually powerful way. The soundtrack features songs by Lorde, who is a visionary in powerful, emotional, lyrics on both love and heartbreak. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson managed to, in my humble opinion, perfectly encapsulate the feeling of first love (and heartbreak) throughout the movie. Someone Great, is, for this reason, my favourite movie of all time.

Written by BAFTA-winning team Laurence Rickard & Martha Howe-Douglas (Ghosts, Horrible Histories) with Chris McCausland, hilarity and hijinks will commence on production this month at Sky Studios Elstree with the special set to air on Sky and NOW this Christmas.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris McCausland & Lee Mack to star in Sky Original festive special ‘Bad Tidings’ [x]
Rebekah Staton, Sarah Alexander and Ben Crompton join the cast as production commences at Sky Studios Elstree.
Chris McCausland (The Wonders of the World I Can't See) and Lee Mack (Doctor Who, Inside No. 9, Brassic) star in Sky Original ‘Bad Tidings’, a mischievous festive special about two perpetually feuding neighbours in Stockport who become unlikely heroes, saving their street from notorious burglars with wacky booby traps and Great British banter.
Joining the cast alongside McCausland and Mack are Rebekah Staton, Sarah Alexander, Ben Crompton, Emily Coates, Josiah Eloi, Millie Kiss, Tupele Dorgu, Sunil Patel, Susan Kyd and Donna Preston.
‘Bad Tidings’ follows a tradition of successful festive Sky Originals loved by Sky customers and star a wealth of British talent. Last year, ‘The Heist Before Christmas’ starring James Nesbitt, Timothy Spall and Laura Donnelly, was the biggest rating Sky Original of 2023 and followed 2022’s ‘Christmas Carole’ staring Suranne Jones, and 2021’s ‘The Amazing Mr Blunden’ staring Simon Callow, Tamsin Greig and Mark Gatiss.
This year’s Sky Original Christmas special revolves around grumpy home-security expert Neil (Mack) and his neighbour Scott (McCausland), who insists on keeping his Christmas lights illuminated all-year-round. And mixing up their bins, criticising Neil’s project’ car and generally winding him up. Basically, Scott’s a git. He’s also blind and all the other neighbours think he’s great.
When Scott is appointed head of the Neighbourhood Watch, Neil is the only one to question his suitability for the role. Their tit-for-tat argument culminates in Neil triggering a power-cut across the entire street. On Christmas Eve.
Everyone is forced to evacuate, and Neil and Scott are left alone and on guard. But the local crime family decide to rob every house on the street in a single night, and the pair must set aside their differences to defeat them. They’ve got no lights, no cameras, no alarms and one of them is blind. Which might just be an advantage…
Chris McCausland said: “Talk about a back of an envelope idea that has got out of hand, we are now making a Christmas comedy film and it's going to be awesome. I can't wait to get up to some hilarious mayhem with Lee and bring some festive spirit into people's living rooms this Christmas!”
Lee Mack added: “I love Chris McCausland, I love the script and I Iove Christmas. Where do I sign?”
‘Bad Tidings’ is written by Laurence Rickard & Martha Howe-Douglas with Chris McCausland, and is produced by Sky Studios. The film is directed by Tim Kirkby with Adnan Ahmed from Sky Studios producing. Anil Gupta Executive Produces for Sky Studios. NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution handles international sales on behalf of Sky Studios.

Fuck ALL of this total bullshit. So...let me get this straight: A BRIT ran what should be an embarrassing scam, pissed off parents, made small children cry and the film industry immediately gets rolling, to make momey from it. Call me crazy but that HAD to be a whole ass stunt. Fortnite already has a rendition out. Trolls online are already calling it the kids version of the Fyre Festival. They set this up. What a bunch of depraved, Satanic bullshit!

Fortnite is owned by Tim Sweeney, Sony, Chinese company Tencent and Danish Kirkbi. In addition, their mole, Kneon at Clownfish is talking nonstop about this 'gaffe' like it's some big deal. The obvious marker of being a plant is his obsessive hate towards Disney. In addition, you don't hear shit from the companies who now own Dahl's IP about how disgusting this was. But we're getting a stupid HORROR film based on this. One of these days, maybe people will get what Timothy Chalamet is being used for.

Fortnite developer – Epic Games – has confirmed reports about laying off around 16% of its employees, affecting nearly 830 staff members. Epic CEO Tim Sweeney said the company has been working towards reducing costs across the globe, including its transition to “net zero hiring and cutting operating spend on things like marketing and events.” However, Epic has been significantly short of financial sustainability, forcing the company to resort to layoffs in a bid to “stabilize” the finances. ‘Unrealistic’ Metaverse Goals In a staff email shared on the company’s website, Sweeney admitted to spending “way more” money than the firm earned despite initially being optimistic about its ability to power through the transition without trimming the workforce. The exec added that the move of growing Fortnite as a metaverse-inspired ecosystem for creators was “unrealistic” in retrospect. “While Fortnite is starting to grow again, the growth is driven primarily by creator content with significant revenue sharing, and this is a lower margin business than we had when Fortnite Battle Royale took off and began funding our expansion. Success with the creator ecosystem is a great achievement, but it means a major structural change to our economics.” All employees impacted by the job cuts will receive a severance package that includes six months of their base pay. They will also be provided with six months of healthcare coverage paid for by Epic Games in the United States, Canada, and Brazil. In addition to the layoffs, Sweeney revealed the sale of Bandcamp for an undisclosed amount a mere 18 months after acquiring the platform. Music marketing company Songtradr is the new owner of Bandcamp. Delving into Metaverse The North Carolina-based video game development company secured $2 billion in funding for metaverse-related development led by Sony Group Corporation as well as KIRKBI in April 2022. The round pushed its valuation to a whopping $32 billion. Later that year, Epic announced the launch of its first-ever NFT game, dubbed Blankos Block Party, on its Game Store.

"Can you keep a secret? So can I."
Alleged last words of Luddite John Woodhead Booth, who did not give away the names of fellow conspirators. Booth, a 19-year-old apprentice tinner, son of the Reverend Booth of Kirkby-Malhamdale at Craven, was wounded in one of his legs, which had apparently been shattered by a musket ball. The post linked below suggests he did not say the words but does not question his courage. Tim Harford claims in an article in the Financial Times that Booth did not object to new machinery per se, but argued it "might be man's blessing instead of his curse if society were differently constituted", which suggests Booth was a very wise 19-year-old.

Epic Games CEO Laughs Off Death Of Metaverse Says 600 Million To Attend Its Wake
Epic Games CEO Laughs Off ‘Death’ Of Metaverse, Says 600 Million To Attend Its ‘Wake’ https://bitcoinist.com/epic-games-ceo-laughs-off-death-of-metaverse/ Video gaming industry giant Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, doesn’t hold back in mocking the claim that the metaverse has become extinct. The billionaire behind Unreal Engine and Fortnite, Sweeney came to Twitter on May 9 to mock PR agency CEO Ed Zitron’s article titled, “RIP Metaverse, we hardly knew ye,” which saw print on Insider earlier this week. According to the article, the “once-buzzy technology… died after being abandoned by the business world.” Zitron believes that Horizon Worlds, Meta’s virtual reality platform, hasn’t lived up to its “grand promise” of becoming the internet of the future. Contrary to Zitron’s claims, Sweeney said that 600 million people use virtual worlds like Fortnite, Minecraft, Roblox, The Sandbox, and VR Chat. Is The Metaverse Dead? Epic Games CEO Doesn’t Believe So The gaming mogul called on supporters to organize an “online wake” so that 600,000,000 monthly active users in Fortnite, Minecraft, Roblox, PUBG Mobile, Sandbox, and VRChat “can mourn” the the metaverse’s passing together in real-time 3D. The metaverse is dead! Let’s organize an online wake so that we 600,000,000 monthly active users in Fortnite, Minecraft, Roblox, PUBG Mobile, Sandbox, and VRChat can mourn its passing together in real-time 3D.https://t.co/tRpFHsdZLw — Tim Sweeney (@TimSweeneyEpic) May 9, 2023 It’s not surprising that the Epic Games big boss would disagree with the story’s central premise, given that most people’s understanding of the metaverse is based on the framework established by Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. It’s not strange that people and businesses could have various ideas about what the metaverse should be and how it should operate. A major declaration about the future of Zuckerberg’s company and the digital landscape was made by the Meta CEO in late 2021. He declared that the name Facebook would be changed to Meta. With this change, Zuckerberg also shifted his focus to the metaverse, which he saw as the future of online interaction. The term “metaverse” is used to describe a virtual reality realm where people can take part in a wide range of activities and interact with one another. The ultimate goal is to make it easier for people to live, work, and travel in virtual realms that feel as real as the real world. Epic Games: $2 Billion Funding For The Metaverse   Epic Games recently announced a $2 billion investment round, with the intention of fast-tracking the company’s ambitions for the metaverse. The LEGO Group’s parent firm, KIRKBI, and the Sony Group each contributed $1 billion. This followed an earlier announcement of a multi-year collaboration between LEGO Group and Epic Games to create a “family-friendly” virtual world. Lego Group CEO Niels Christiansen has teased that additional information about the partnership will be made public soon. Despite spending billions, Meta’s attempts to entice consumers to their version of the metaverse have mainly been unsuccessful. The Sandbox and other blockchain-based virtual worlds have likewise failed to gain widespread user adoption. Zitron’s article also claims that investors have moved on to the next big tech trend, generative AI, by referencing unsuccessful metaverses like Decentraland and Yuga Labs’ Otherside. Epic Games, together with other corporations including Microsoft and Meta, founded the Metaverse Standards Forum in 2022. Metaverse Industry: Nowhere But Up According to projections, the value of the worldwide metaverse market in 2022 was $66 billion. This is projected to rise to $82 billion by 2023, then $937 billion by 2030. Over the forecast period, the market is likely to increase as a result of technological advancements and continuing hardware and software innovation aimed at improving real-time rendering of visuals. -Featured image from WallpaperAccess via Bitcoinist.com https://bitcoinist.com May 10, 2023 at 02:43PM
