To Catch A Prince: A look into Ren's capture in Tiger's Quest by Colleen Houck. Spoilers...duh

Ren awoke, the smell of stale sweat and iron permeated his nostrils. He scrunched up his nose in disgust, unable to escape the putrid stench. Blinking slowly, he took in his surroundings. He appeared to be in a cell at the corner of a dimly lit basement. He had been captured....again. Yet, this time it was different. He may be in the hands of Lokesh, but Kelsey was safe. She had to be! His sacrifice would be worthless otherwise.

He looked to the shelves and tables that had lined the room. Every surface covered in tools. He quickly identified an array of weaponry including knives, a mace, swords, a mallet, spears, and a set of hammers. Each item seemed as if it had seen heavy use. He then turned his attention to a wooden beam in the center of the room. It stood at roughly four feet. Heavy metal chain cuffs were attached to the top as well as the base.

Just as he stood on his paws, the door at the other end of the room creaked open. Lokesh stepped over the threshold, grinning feverishly at the tiger. Ren lowered his head and growled, ignorant that the man in front of him was about to put him through hell.

one of the sad parts about Kelsey's story and adventures is she makes no lasting friendships with other women besides Nilima, but even then- Nilima probably has an entire life outside of what Kelsey describes because Kelsey doesn't ever really get to know Nilima.

Cryptid of the Day: Blue Tiger

Description: In 1910, an American missionary spotted a tiger with a blue hue outside of Fuzhou, China. He chronicled the sighting in his 1924 book, Blue Tiger. Another story comes from a US Army soldier in the demilitarized zone of Korea. Despite what online sources say, maltese-colored cats do not exist in nature.

I understand the authors have biases and characters they dislike, but god I wish if they hated a character so bad they’d at least have the decency to kill them off (or do something to get rid of them) instead of retconning and changing their character to show “see! This character is actually bad and evil! You shouldn’t like them!”
