So I got to be a surprise participant when @cozymochi did an art trade raffle to celebrate 5k followers (I am STILL blown away!), and that meant I got to draw the lovely Tia, Master Grim's minion and overall cutie pie!

AND Grimmy too, be we love that troublesome weasel in this house! 🧡🧡

I decided to be cute and go with rhyming names for the trade. May I present the fantastic art I got in exchange of my sweet lil kitty, Mia!

Doesn't she look precious? I love this so much!

Anyway 10/10, awesome experience, this whole event was a delight! Thanks again to @cozymochi for giving me such a great depiction of my silly kitten, and for such a good excuse to draw a pretty girl doing a JoJo pose ;-3

Outfit redesign for our twin OCs! ^^ With the Hazbin staff getting their redesigns, thought it was about time the twins get polished up for the premiere too. Tried to add in more of their Victorian era to their dresses and simplify it abit. A flat color pallet will be posted soon

Okay Lindsey Collins is going way too hard for Mia because it sounds less like she’s fangirling and more like she’s getting off.

Tia ends up sounding like a normal type of fangirling.

A lot of A24 films center the motif of women feeling horrified by their own reproductive capacity, or at least the impositions of control society tries to put on their bodies.

There is clearly a parallel going on between the alligator egg and Pearl's miscarriage, but I don't think it's as straightforward as her "rejecting" a nurturing/motherhood role. Pearl talks about feeling like she doesn't have it in her to be a mother, but this isn't just from some abstract blackness in her soul or psychopathy. Because of her own upbringing, she associates motherhood with nothing but bitterness and disappointment. And having only been married a few years in her short life already, Pearl has already learned that the life of a farmer's wife is lonely and unfulfilling.

The imagery of a NEST is a reminder of everything Pearl fears: getting stuck in one location, tethered by responsibility. Specifically that her wishes have a snowball's chance against the greater forces of nature. Her gender - the chastity, passivity, and endless patience that's expected of her - is everything holding her back.

She's between a rock and a hard place, but the time period she was born into hasn't offered her a solution, so everything just feels like it's going to explode.
