It's official: I'm publishing my first work of fiction, the unhinged novella SKIN & BONES, on 10/22/24 (just in time for Halloween). Pre-order the ebook now!
A mind-bending psychological thriller told in first person by a broken man who submits to a bizarre medical experiment in an effort to redeem himself, and loses his mind in the process.
It's Fight Club meets The Parallax View meets E.R. meets Shutter Island... and utterly unique in its own right. A quick, propulsive, hallucinatory read, rich with supernatural elements and medical suspense, SKIN & BONES takes you on a journey into the labyrinth of one man's fractured psyche.
Skull art by @paul.hollingworth - and it's NOT AI!

Julia’s world is shattered when she finds her best friend’s lifeless body in their local woods the day they planned to meet up there.
Inspired by Gone Girl, The Earth from Mars tells the harrowing story of the small town murder of 16 year old Cole Ebb. Julia, Cole’s best friend, slowly remembers the events that lead up to her death. She recounts the story of their friendship, which clearly held moments of jealousy, betrayal, and love. But could they really best friends if Julia isn’t even willing to tell the full story to anyone? Why would she have anything to hide if she’s as innocent as she claims to be?
Meanwhile, Cole’s boyfriend Mitch works hard to ingratiate himself with Julia and become her ally. Yet he was the one who showed up in the woods right after Julia! Plus, Julia should know he’s a good liar.
The Earth From Mars is a murder mystery that keeps you guessing. As character’ stories are revealed, it becomes increasingly clear that everybody has a secret they’re hiding. One of them might be hiding a killer one.
My debut thriller novel is free on Amazon today only!! Get it now

Started reading Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter. I'm a huge horror nerd, but I tend to read more thriller novels than horror. The horror novels I do read usually fall into less popular subgenres like fantasy- or scifi-horror or social horror or fairytale retellings. I've been straying away from horror for a bit, though, just cause I've been annoyed with other horror nerds that keep insisting books that aren't splatterpunk or extreme horror aren't horror novels.
Splatterpunk is the equivalent of a gorer movie. It's like if the Saw franchise was a novel, and extreme horror is written purely for shock value although it can be pretty political and discuss important societal issues. But there's usually a lot of other fucked up shit mixed in there like excessive abuse, gore, pedophilia, animal violence, and things that would make Two Girls One Cup look G-rated in comparison. Like imagine if The Hills Have Eyes (2006) or A Serbian Film was a book -- that's what extreme horror is.
I've never actually watched A Serbian Film, by the way. I heard that it was banned in a few countries and googled the plot, and I really really wish that I hadn't. Cause that shit is absolutely demented, like what the fuck? The movie had to be edited and censored so that it would be legal to air in the US.
The Hills Have Eyes on the other hand I have seen and I'm very reluctant to ever watch it again. There is a scene in the movie that depicts both animal abuse and rape all at once, so that is extremely triggering. And the first time I watched it I was like sixteen and I had to stop the movie because I'd had an anxiety attack and started crying. It's fucking torture porn. Nowhere near as bad as A Serbian Film, but it still makes the list of the most fucked up movies I've ever watched. Really, though, I kinda want to watch it to see if still triggers me.
Anyway, this is my first time reading Slaughter's work, but it's damn good so far. It's very suspenseful and emotional with a couple of decent what the fuck moments. I'm definitely enjoying it. Hopefully it stays that way.

The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkings. Published on 5th January 2021.
A decent thriller after a while & enjoyed this one. I've to be honest not too many of thrills & suspense like the other best ones i've read before but not bad either.
Jane,a dog walker of an elite neighbourhood,Thronfield Estates, wishes to be one of the women one day, some day. Her past lingering behind her, changed name but not changed habits. She loves to pluck diamond earings, bracelets from the women who'd hardly notice whats gone. There starts a romantic relationship with Eddie Rochester, whose dog she takes for a walk.
But their whirlwind romance soon takes a nose dive when she finds his wife alive upstairs in the panic room. All her dreams come crashing down, but she doesn't scream or sob rather atands tall with her presence of mind intact.
I felt the end was rushed and ambiguous. A little more detai wouldn't have harmed anyone.
Favourite quote : "Mouths were good at lying, but eyes usually told the truth"
