Very true. If you make a resolution, you need to keep it. Otherwise nothing will come to fruition. Commit to one thing at a time. Commiting to doing too many things at once is what halts all of them, and you will never see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Make a resolution. Work on it. Work on it again. ...and again ... and again.... until you achieve (hopefully) the outcome you were looking for - you MAY discover that a different outcome is produced... in which case be happy with that different outcome and go on to a new project... Alternatively, you may discover that the desired outcome is, in fact, not realistic, if this happens, DON'T just give up and commit to something else until you have pursued all the available options and sought ways around what is causing you to be stymied. . . . . .

I certainly don't sit down and plan a book out before I write it. There's a phrase I use called "The Valley Full of Clouds." Writing a novel is as if you are going off on a journey across a valley. The valley is full of mist, but you can see the top of a tree here and the top of another tree over there. And with any luck you can see the other side of the valley. But you cannot see down into the mist. Nevertheless, you head for the first tree.
