Thoroughly Modern Millie / Carol Channing as Muzzy Van Hossmere

This back and skirt of this dress appear to be made up of sequinned panels over a beige foundation. There's a suggestion of a belt, but I believe it's part of the dress. The long necklace does seem to be a separate piece, but it is possibly sewn to the dress to keep it from bouncing around too much as she dances.

hi okay i wanna talk about my feelings on sutton foster outside of her relationship with hugh because ik a lot of u followed me for hugh content but i think it's important u kinda get my like?? history with the BOTH of them

suttons been letting me down recently; i think the worst part of this isn't even that i'm jealous of her (although i am) it's actually that like i wasn't joking when i said i was a big fan of hers growing up. like i mentioned before i would watch her performances constantly. i had a youtube playlist of all my favourite ones and even when i aged out of liking musical theatre i would still go back to her stuff every once in a while because it was a genuine comfort to me and now it just makes me feel sad. ive made jokes about how their relationship feels the same to me as it would if your close friend went out with a guy she knew you liked and i kinda stand by it 😭 idk it's sad to see this person who was a legitimate staple in my early adolescence kind of being a total ass

November: Grey Redux

Thoroughly Modern Millie / Julie Andrews as Millie Dilmount

Although it conveys the 1920s effectively, this dress also has a lot of the 1960s "mod" look about it, from the piping to the chunky pockets to the neck and sleeve shape. This is perhaps not surprising, as the dropped waist came into fashion again in the 1960s.

I never really noticed the green stripe on the dress until I started making screencaps, but it goes with her green bead necklace.
