Am I the asshole for intentionally starting a fight with a friend of mine so that I can show everyone else how much of an attention seeking bitch she is
My (16 f) friend group is collectively obsessed with playing an obscure online game together, and in order to make it more convenient they made a group chat which they forgot to add me into. I heard about it from a friend who assumed that I was in it and asked to be a part of it because I liked the game as well, she told me she would add me. Later that week I was on a FaceTime call with some of my friends and the group chat was referenced by someone so I pointed out that I still hadn’t been added. The next day I was finally added and everything was normal until my friend (15 f) lets call her Jane said something along the lines of “why is she here” then immediately took me out of the group chat. I couldn’t get in contact with her as she had blocked me so I called my other friend (15 f) lets call her B who was still in the group chat and asked her what was happening. Jane said that she removed me because I kept saying I hated her this was an inside joke that she would participate in and found funny, it was very over the top and obviously a joke and she had never said anything to me about being uncomfortable. B explained this but she wouldn’t listen and kept telling everyone in the group chat lies about how I was a horrible person and that I essentially relentlessly bullied her. I was eventually added back and started to tell everyone that this was a lie, a bunch of people started to take her side, and I got pretty pissed off because no one was listening to me. I started cussing her out and calling her a bitch (she is) and it started getting out of hand because, one everyone was already on her side, and two my phone was pretty broken at that time so their was a lot of miscommunication between me and the group chat. for example one of my friends kept shoving themselves into the argument and not listening to anything I say, so I told her to shut the fuck up and stay out of things she didn’t understand, unfortunately as that text was sending another friend, K asked what was happening and that text sent first so I looked like I had cussed her out for asking a question, before I could explain this I was kicked from the groupchat, I tried to call K but she didn’t answer me and ignored me when I tried to explain myself through text. The next day pretty much the whole friend group was giving me the cold shoulder and not speaking to me, for most people this went away the day after but one of my friends hasn’t looked at me the same since.
We had managed to mainly move past this whole thing until Jane was complaining in a group chat about our chorus teacher (who I love) and I asked her (politely) to stop being negative and not to vent in the group chats. She started going at me and saying how I always start drama and am horrible to her. She brought up the last fight we had had which I thought was really uncalled for and she made it into this whole thing.
She kept constantly causing drama in group chats and getting into fights with people for stupid reasons almost every night. I was tired of people defending her and her constantly trying to turn our friends against me and since some people where already getting annoyed with her I decided to start a fight with her so people would stop talking to her giving her less of a chance to try to ruin my life.
She loved making friend group cast list for random musicals and such that she liked and always put herself as the lead and gave people parts that made them uncomfortable (miss gendering them, giving bigger people fat characters regardless of their personality etc). She had made a mean girls recast where she was Regina (she’s a bitch but she’s not Regina) even though it was a common joke in the friend group that me and two of our friends were the plastics with me as Regina. I had been told by my other friend, L not to bring this up because l, k, and Jane had all recently auditioned for mean girls the musical and only L got in (I would normally listen to this but she wouldn’t let L be happy about getting in and constantly guilt tripped her about it). So naturally I brought it up and got her to start fighting about it, I wanted to have a fight with her were I was more in control of the situation then she was (in earlier fights she would say things she knew would make me mad to get people to see me as in the wrong for being the unreasonable and angry one while she was calm). I kept bringing up that I should be Regina because I am the friend groups resident lesbian in a kind off joking way that I know can really get under peoples skin (I know that this is manipulative but she was manipulating me to get mad and act unreasonable so I decided to do the same and give her a taste of her own medicine) especially since she was the kind off person isn’t exactly homophobic but makes me and some of our other queer friends really uncomfortable with her jokes. She brought up that she had had a crush on a girl once (she had brought this up before as being a joke) to try to make herself out to be queer to win the argument. This made me uncomfortable and when I (and some of my other queer friends) tried to tell her that she just ignored me. I just want to say that I don’t actaully care this much about being Regina I just wanted everyone to see how horrible and attention seeking she is.
Personally I think I am kind of the asshole in a Justified way (I forget what that’s called) but I’m not sure
What are these acronyms?

⚠️AHSOKA FINALE SPOILERS⚠️
Okay so imma talk a bit about this final episode cuz holy shit
So first Ashoka and Sabine are now stranded along with baylan and shin. Holy fuck. They sent Ezra home but now they’re stranded. I have a strong feeling Ahsoka and Sabine are going to grow very close. I genuinely thought they were gonna make it back or Ahsoka was gonna die fighting Morgan but I am glad that did not happen 🤧 I honestly have no predictions for a season 2 rn.
Baylan found statues of what looks to be The Father and The Brother (that’s what I’m going with rn they may not be) No sister but maybe that has something to do with Ahsoka idk. The Father statue also looks to be pointing at a mountain which probably holds the secrets Baylan is searching for.
Shin is going to join up with these samurai raiders. This is going to. Be interesting I feel like she is gonna become one of there leaders like Ezra to the Noti. Not much to say on this cuz it was a very small part of the episode but I did think it was interesting.
I honestly did not expect the whole Morgan becoming a full witch. It was cool to see how they become true nighsisters and how she got The Sword of Talzin. Also her fight with Ahsoka is very cool I’m glad we got that rematch but also Ahsoka is badass for killing Morgan with her own sword.
OKAY so I know there are gonna be a lot of mfs that hate this but SABINE USED THE FORCE. Idk how to feel about this. I think it’s cool and I’m gonna enjoy it and roll with it for now but I will say this. Not every character needs to be a Jedi but this I will say is pretty cool in my opinion ik this will be quite the debate.
I really wish we could have seen more of Baylan this episode especially since I know they are definitely gonna recast him cuz his role clearly isn’t finished. Now that the series is over I will say Ray Stevenson was an amazing actor and deserves so much credit for this role. I’m so sad he never got to see just how much we loved him in this. Rip Ray ❤️
Thrawn trying to get at Ahsoka saying she will become like her master. Ahsoka before this series I believe would have been greatly affected by that statement but after the WBW meeting with Anakin she clearly has so much more confidence in who she is. Very cool to see Ahsoka’s development throughout this series. She has become much more warm and happy it was nice to see her grow.
Also I wonder why Ahsoka says this is where her and Sabine belong? Maybe she is saying it’s like the will of the force that they are here but this is definitely going to be interesting. Now that Thrawn is an immediate danger to The New Republic I believe they will make more of an effort to go get Ahsoka and Sabine but I do think it will be awhile. Though I’m very excited to see how this changes Ahsoka and Sabine as master and apprentice and also to see if they get stronger in the force and stuff especially since those statues of The father and The brother are there. This place clearly has a deep connection to the force.
Chopper instantly knowing it was Ezra 😭❤️ also Hera’s reaction to seeing Ezra again but also now he’s back and Ahsoka and Sabine are gone. These mfs can’t catch a break.
Also then talking about Kanan with huyang 😭 then huyang giving Ezra the one and only replacement to Kanan’s lightsaber. I’m so glad we got some Kanan talk.
Also we got to se MORAI. I was waiting for her to pop up I’m so glad we got to see her since we know she follows Ahsoka wherever she goes even if it’s across the galaxy.
And finally. Holy shit force ghost Anakin. This ain’t WBW Ahsoka’s version of Anakin. This is him. Ahsoka got her final closure with her master. This also may be the last time we see Anakin. If this is the last time we see him I wanna say that Hayden has done such a good job at this character. I genuinely loved watching him on screen.
This is about all I have to say about this episode right now. It was a good finally with one hell of a cliffhanger. I definitely think we are getting a season 2. When? I have no clue imma be honest i have a feeling it’s gonna be a few years but I’ll wait as long as I get more greatness like this series.
This has genuinely become my favorite Star Wars show. Every week had me on the edge of my seat excited for the next episode and I know a lot of others felt the same way. The acting was good. The writing was good. The music was fucking amazing every episode. Great world building, great villains, just overall great storytelling. I’m very excited to see what happens next

911 season 7 episode 4!! we've arrived!!
the only reason that i understand this long opening section is playing on the bachelor is that i've watched jarvis johnson talk about it before. thank you jarvis johnson.
the i'm taken but he's not scene. buck has a rule. eddie looks confused. hmmm.
fjdkf "hey joey." while watching the previous episode i said buck was bisexual character number 2 this season (after norman) but i may have been wrong. he's number 3, after norman and chimney.
i mean, admittedly i've never seen a single episode of the bachelor firsthand, but it seems to me like they'd LOVE for something like this to happen. nobody got seriously hurt, it's extremely dramatic and big, lots and lots and lots of free press - what could be better for reality tv?
buck is so pumped to be getting the tour!!
"i guess that night was the most fun i'd had since getting struck by lightning." "you need to raise your bar, kid." fjdkfd. lines that could have worked word for word in a katherine hepburn/cary grant screwball comedy.
fjdkfjdkfj he's just using getting struck by lightning as a point of reference! "ah." is the right response, i think, tommy.
he could give buck lessons if he wants!! honestly i could quote every line of this conversation as notable and fun. i'm having a ball watching this actually happen with audio, instead of looping chunks of a few seconds. (not that there's anything wrong with looping chunks of a few seconds. i love looping chunks of a few seconds, looping chunks of a few seconds are tumblr's liveblood.)
tommy has "something" (a person) "that" (who) should be arriving right now, actually. fjdkf. early practice for when eddie ends up crashing their date next episode
also, dear god, eddie's giant truck. forgot about that thing.
fjkdf. this poor man, watching his best friend and unknown crush fly off together. admittedly not into the sunset, but to vegas nonetheless
waffles!!! bobby and athena made it through a cruise on a sinking ship and now there's someone breaking into their home making waffles
harryyy. i was just thinking about him during the last episode!
ohhhh. he didn't just shoot up into the sky, that actually is a harry recast. interesting
okay, so apparently (x) marcanthonee reis was "sort of ready to move on". assuming that's true, fair enough - for anyone, but especially for a kid playing a role on tv.
ravi's "who's tommy?" is totally fair, and then he gets rewarded for his patience in being totally excluded from buck and eddie's weird jealous bff conversation by getting sent down a sewer. rough day, man
"both like watching half-naked men pummel each other" is certainly a set of words. it certainly is.
not for nothing, but is eddie blind, or is he just enjoying winding buck up a little, being at the center of some (as he would probably assume) friendship jealousy? because buck is. not being normal about this. at all.
buck thinking he's getting invited to the bar trivia thing and being asked to babysit.... i fully knew that was coming, but it's painfully awkward either way. also, dear god, eddie has already asked his girlfriend to babysit his kid twice this week. hmmmmm.
the AIR QUOTES. had to replay that three times, it's excellent, i adore this. the way he says it is SO good
the little WIGGLE at the second set of air quotes. GOLD
"get this! [star wars opinion]" jfkdfjk. possibly the funniest 911 has ever been
on his fridge! eddie has a day calendar! underatakeoutmenu
IT'S CIRCLED. WHAT DON'T YOU GET, MADDIE.
maddie's "with a little heart around it?" line is exactly as good as it seemed in all the gifs. wonderful, amazing, life-changing stuff
uh oh, harry in trouble!
yeah. so. the woman on this home break-in call absolutely shot her son, didn't she?
she did. we needed a nod to athena's recast son subplot.
that's athena's cop side coming out when she tells her son in a weird roundabout way that people are going to pee on him in jail. if buck and eddie sounded like a classic screwball, this is more tango & cash.
OH. we ARE getting into the athena-is-a-cop part of it.
oh my darling. you are being SO weird about this (affectionate).
insane amazon prime sponsorship just right in the middle of jealous bisexual weight lifting. what is happening
oh my god. oh boy. oh no
i mean, oh YES, but there's just oodles of secondhand embarassment to go around here. love you though buck, go for it, don't let me stop you
chimney innocently asking what that is buck is heartbrokenly cuddling..... and getting roped into this insane musclebound love triangle. poor chimney, you did nothing wrong.
also though. eddie giggling on the phone and fully and blatantly ignoring buck for that entire scene? there's just so much going on here. everyone's in love with tommy and his cool helicopters.
i was genuinely sort of hoping the athena-breaking-the-news part of this woman-shot-her-son case would remain implied. very sad. only misery here.
buck bullshitting his way into pretending this is totally just his attempt to bond with his future brother-in-law is very funny. nice try, my boy
the face of a chimney realizing he's been tricked :(
chimney calling himself a basketball beard...... chimney is cleverer than he even knows, i think.
i saw the post @redgoldblue reblogged pointing this out, but. yeah. that IS a whole montage that's just a very long top gun reference. playing with the boys!!!
also, in light of that...... buck & eddie's infamous "you can have my back any time" was also a top gun reference. (specifically, a reference to "you can be my wingman any time."/"bullshit. you can be mine.", as in, this right here.) we all agree on that, right? i've never seen anyone mention it, but that might just be because i only really see 911 content when it happens across my dash, so. we do agree? because. buck&eddie first bonding moments related to top gun.... buck&tommy arc starting with top gun basketball..... i'm just saying. i am. just saying.
sitting here open-mouthedly indignant that buck dragged chim along and then doesn't even let him play. chimney deserves better even in the middle of a dramatic understandably self-centered sexuality crisis
he bucked that up!! oh my god
big sister maddie is Good. i like that
a few minutes to go in the episode and there's a knock at buck's door! who might that be? maybe he ordered something else off of amazon prime (which is canonically really quick and convenient and you don't even need to sign anything).
the way tommy says "evannn." is so good
the fact that it's the terrible fake mouth static over the radio that got buck's attention is amazing. meet cute: we fly into a hurricane and you badly pretend your radio isn't working when someone tries to talk sense into us
🌈🎉🌈🎉💖
yes 🥺 he is free 🥺
gifs are good and wonderful but there are some things they just can't possibly do justice due to the limitations of the medium and just. seeing buck's quiet wide-eyed response to tommy kissing him and this Big Revelation he's having is definitely one of those things that need to be watched as a full scene with audio. oh gosh
saturday!
just lovely lovely good very sweet stuff! it's nice. but, like, nice - in a wonderful, good, heartwarming sort of way. god. the distance we've come - incredible.

I would like to present, for your consideration, Stephanie Lauter and Peter Spankoffski from Hatchetfield.
Steph has been confirmed to be canonically pan by her actress, Pete has huge bi vibes (and is sorta implied to be transmasc?)
Hatchetfield is a horror anthology series. So far there are three musicals and eight episodes of a webshow, and everything but the most recent musical is currently available for free on YouTube. Steph and Pete have two major appearances.
The first is in the web episode Abstinence Camp, a Friday the 13th spoof. At the start of the episode, they're both forced to attend a Christian summer camp, an idea that they hate bond over. They've got a bit of banter and hit it off well. Highlights include Steph giving him contraband chocolate bars when the counselors don't care about his lowering blood sugar, Pete agreeing she got the short end of the stick in her situation, and the both of them being generally pretty snarky together.
There's a scene where Steph decides to test the camp's rules (and get some privacy) by showering in the boys' washroom. Pete is the only one there, and his first instinct is to do the respectful thing and let her be in there alone, only staying to finish cleaning when she insists it's okay if he's in there. (They have more banter, she finds out just how hot he is when you actually get a good look at him. He's described as jacked in this scene, but due to a recast, this is most certainly retconned. Still a cute moment between them). It culminates in them deciding to test the ghost story running around the camp that doing anything remotely sexy will get you killed by a spirit living in the woods, but are caught before anything can happen. Between getting into trouble and the audience knowing that there have already been other deaths, it's for the best that Steph plans to make an escape. What's sweet, though, is that she makes a point to get Pete to come too.
Throughout the whole climax of the story they both actively try to protect each other. Pete yells at the Axe-Man to leave Steph alone, she shields him from harm when he accidentally breaks his leg. By the end of the story they're both still alive, and are actively aware they're the only ones who know just how fucked up the camp is. It's implied they keep protecting each other that whole summer.
(If there are any Hatchetfans reading this and you haven't seen NPMD yet, here is your spoiler warning.)
Their most recent appearance is in the newest Musical, Nerdy Prudes Must Die. NPMD is also a slasher spoof, but with a twist: the nerds are in danger and the rebellios and popular "bad kids" are on the killer's good side.
The whole show happens because in this timeline, Steph and Pete meet when she asks to cheat off of his bio test.
Two things to note about that. 1. Despite Steph being the most popular girl and Pete being one of the most unpopular kids in all of Hatchetfield High, she already knows his name. 2. It does not take much convincing for him to agree. They get caught, and are sent to detention. Pete freaks out, not because he got in trouble, but because now he's in with a popular girl (the mayor's daughter, no less) and it's going to get him unwanted attention from the kids that pick on him. They have more banter, like in AC, to the point Pete doesn't know how well it's going until Steph says that he's funny and admits she likes funny guys. This sticks with Pete enough he decides to wear nicer clothes and crack jokes more often, even when just with his friends. They even ask if he's trying to impress someone.
Steph calls him. From a payphone.
For someone who never gave Pete a second thought before, she sure did already know is name AND number. Are we sure you didn't already have an eye on him, Steph?
She asks him to give a proper study session, and he agrees, in part due to his friends telling him that sparks were flying. He ends up singing a whole song about wondering if he's really cool enough to hang out with her.
Pete ends up getting beat up by his biggest bully (Max Jagerman) on the way, and when Steph finds out, she gets VERY righteous. She says she's not going to let Pete put up with bullying anymore and offers to step in (even though Pete doesn't think it will do much). Before they really have a chance to do anything, another student (Grace Chasity) offers up her own revenge plan that inadvertently ends up killing Max. Max ends up coming back as a ghost with a grudge against nerds, since everyone that was there when he died (besides Steph) was an unpopular nerd.
They share a lot of banter up until the first death, when things become more serious by necessity. Still, they both do a pretty bad job of covering up their crushes, and end up having a duet arguing over who has the bigger crush and why a relationship would never work between them the way things are right now (note: Pete says he felt almost seduced by her, Steph admits she's into smart guys and knows he's an intellectual type).
As the show goes on, Steph is actively protecting him like in AC, encouraging him to stay behind her in case something happens.
Steph, Pete, and Grace end up being the last three survivors of the main cast, and strike a deal with beings called The Lords in Black. The Lords will take Max to the afterlife for good if one of the teens gives up what they cherish most. Pete and Steph have a crisis, because now they have to admit to each other that okay maybe they are sorta in love, and have to decide who will die for the other. Pete insists that he do something worthwhile for once and save everybody by being the sacrifice. And Steph, despite her heartbreak, agrees.
LUCKILY Grace prevents that by saving the day in the funniest way possible. Too amazing to spoil (and also because I've barely gone into her subplot this whole time). But Steph and Pete make it out together. And they're grateful for it. And they even get to go to homecoming together.
By then end, they've decided they can make it work and have a song about being able to bring out the best in each other. (Special shoutout to the lyrics "I’m the best of you / And you’re the best of me / And together we are free / To run around" and "Its like you knew me / Before you knew me / Its like you saw me / Before you saw me")
(Hatchetfans, spoilers end here)
In conclusion, stan Lautski
(sorry for putting a whole essay in your inbox, op)
Was given permission to post this*
They seem. So hecking cool honesty love this for them I will also encourage other people to submit them
Propaganda for Stephanie Lauter and Peter Spankoffski from Hatchetfield.

Oh SHIT I just had a Theory about the next episode of Neverafter
Look. Look. Everyone’s theorizing about time loops, and that’s definitely a possibility. Characters dying was something Brennan talked about as being anticipated, so that or backup characters are absolutely legit for what might happen in episode 4.
But, like... this is a HORROR game. And I’m here at 11pm fighting the urge to binge watch Princess Tutu again, so that might be a factor, but still...
What if instead of having a bunch of new characters, we get the SAME characters being forced into new STORY ROLES?
My theory comes from the following things:
The charisma saves. Charisma’s seen as the “talk good” stat a lot of the time but I also see it as a measure of, like, your sense of self. Your inner resolve. It’s what you use as your saving throw against stuff like possessions, after all! What if they were actually to remember and hold onto your original story as it tries forcing you into something else?
We already have precedent for this as a concept, with the mice from Cinderella describing how fucked up it was for them to be forcibly turned into servants and horses and made to follow the Story.
Jumping off from that, there’s a LOT of potential for uncanny horror as the characters get recast as new fairy tale heroes that are close but not QUITE the same, like Puss in Boots now being Renart the Fox, or Pinnochio finding himself as the Nutcracker Prince and remembering both Geppetto and Herr Drosselmeyer as his dad. And also maybe Timothy winds up with Drosselmeyer’s magic and fancy coach now?
Thought it sucked turning back into a frog, Gerard? How about turning back into the Beast, or the Lindworm?
Other stories like the webcomics Rice Boy and The Property of Hate, where a key bit of their plot is that characters are DETERMINED to keep the story going. Rice Boy was only the most recent in a long line of potential candidates to fulfill a prophecy, and TPoH had a recent revelation that being a hero in that setting is more about being one of the many brave souls sent out to save the day, and failing, before the ACTUAL capital-H Hero who can stop the villain is found.
If Timothy’s book is a powerful magical force like the glass shard, and the glass shard was keeping the fairy godmother alive out of a desire to find Cinderella and get the story resolved “properly...” I mean, we’re only three episodes in, and like the Intrepid Heroes we REALLY don’t know the full extent of what’s happening to this world.
The villain of every D20 campaign is Capitalism, and what’s more Capitalism than repeatedly forcing people past their breaking point, into roles close enough to what they’re capable of but still different enough to cause harm, in order to serve your own evil or misguided ends?

My Reputation’s Never Been Worse
Chapter 14:
Will snuck quietly into Crowley’s office and waited by the door for the older man to acknowledge him.
“You know,” Crowley said casually without lookin up from the paperwork in front of him, “when you first came back, I thought there was something vaguely familiar about your rings. I shrugged it off, figuring it was nothing. That they were the typical type of rings you’d collect after time on a pirate ship. It wasn’t until I was passing by the infirmary and saw a young knight being carried in that I realized where I recognized that insignia from.” Crowley finally looks up and nods to one of the rings on Will right hand.
Will rubbed at the ring, then crossed his arms. “And where would that be?”
“Lord Emmers dead body. Particularly, his battered in face.”
“You said it yourself, these are pretty standard rings for a rouge.”
“Except for one. Captain Nero gifts every crewman who sails under his flag for over a year with a custom made silver ring. The letter of their first name pierced through with a dagger. Lord Emmers face was embossed with a D.”
“I suppose that settles it then. My name is Will, and unless Nero is extremely illiterate, there’d be no reason for me to have a ring like that.”
Crowley shrugs, “That’s true. But you didn’t use your name with Captain Nero did you? You used your father’s. Daniel. Which why your ring was made with the letter D.” His tone left little room for disagreement and Will knew that he was backed into a corner. Because despite his faults, Crowley wasn’t the Ranger Commandant for nothing. He was whip smart, and once he started putting the pieces together, he’d always find the answers he was looking for.
Will rolls he jaw and steps closer to Crowley’s desk. “So what’s your play here Crowley? Blackmail? Another trial with insufficient evidence? You can’t hang a man for having the same fashion taste as a murder. You can’t connect Emmers death to my hands.”
“No, I can’t. Especially once I take that ring and have the blacksmith melt it down and recast it. And the physician has already started treatment on the young knight who happened to bare very similar bruises as the late Lord. In fact, by this point, his face is no doubt heavily bandaged. And those bandages won’t be coming off until the marks are long gone.”
“Why are you doing this? Why let this go?”
“Because I’ve failed you once before Will, and it is the biggest regret of my life. I won’t betray you again.”
Will pursed his lips. “Well. I suppose only time will tell if you mean what you say.”
Crowley nodded in acceptance, understanding that this was as much as he was going to get from Will at the moment. He extended his hand out and Will dropped the ring into Crowley’s open palm. As he slipped the incriminating ring into his pocket, he said, “This wasn’t the only reason I sent Gilan out looking for you. I received word from Eisel.”
“Already?” Will asked in surprise.
“Marie and Hannah didn’t delay. They sent a carrier pigeon the moment they arrived.” Crowley frowned. “They found the knights the king sent in… compromising positions.”
“I told you, Eisel has a corrupting power over men.”
“Marie will do the best she can, but I fear that without clear, physical force to back her up, there won’t be much she can do.”
“Understood. I’ll leave immediately.”
“I’m sending Horace and Gilan with you. Halt too, if you’ll have him.”
“I don’t need their help.” Will said indignantly.
“Perhaps not. But you’ll have it regardless.”
“Crowley-“
He rose his hand to interrupt whatever argument Will was about to make. “My mind is made up Will. You will have backup with you. Anyway, I doubt I could stop them from going with you. Those two would follow you into the Underworld if they could.
“That’s a good thing I suppose. Because that’s exactly where we are going.”
_____________________________________
Will left Crowley’s office and went off in search of Horace and Gilan. His plan was to leave for Eisel as quickly as possible. And without running into Halt. As he rounded the corner, he collided with a solid mass. Looking up, he could hardly believe his eyes.
“Baron Arald.” The name was a ghost on his lips.
“I think we are well past titles son.” The warmth in his words pulled Will in, like a moth to a flame. “It’s been far too long Will.” Arald smiled tenderly at him.
“I know. I’ve been,” Will huffed out an empty laugh, “I’ve been living like wild beast I suppose. Running thought out the countryside like a monster. But it’s not like I had many other options.”
Arald eyes filled with a sadness Will couldn’t understand. “You could have come home my boy. Redmont would have welcomed you back with open arms. You could have found refuge within our walls.” He paused then, “You still can.”
“But, they all must have hated me. They must have taken my alleged betrayal hatred than anyone.” Will said vehemently.
Arald gave Will the most pitying look he had ever seen. “Will, from what I have heard and seen, not a single resident of Redmont thought for even a fleeting moment that you were guilty of treason. Your people stood by you. They still speak of you with such reverence. You are still the pride and joy of Redmont.”
Will felt his stomach drop. His blood chill. His heart stop. “You mean, I could have just, gone home? All these years on the run, living in pain and terror. It was all for nothing? I could have found sanctuary at home?” He took in a shuttering breath. “Oh god, I’m going to be sick.” His knees buckled, but he didn’t crash onto the cold stone floor. Instead, from somewhere beyond the haze of regret and remorse, Will felt a strong pair of arms wrap around his shaking frame. He leaned in instinctively and inhaled the familiar scent of sandalwood and wine. The embrace transported him back to his childhood. Back to scraped knees, and fights with Horace, and nightmares of monsters under the bed. Baron Arald had always been there to hold Will, to wipe away his tears, to comfort him. It had taken years for Will to realize how much of a fatherly role the Baron had served in his life. And now, as Will comes undone in the middle of Castle Araluen, the weight of the past years crashing down onto his shoulders, Arald was there to hold him together once more.
“You always did give the best hugs.” Will murmured against Arlad’s chest once he could finally catch his breath.
“We all have our skills. You can sneak about in silence, I can give magically healing hugs.” He chuckled as he rubbed circles between Will’s shoulders.
Will pulled back and Arald wiped Will’s face dry with the sleeve of his soft, but somewhat garish tunic. “There, no need for anymore tears my boy. Now, why don’t you join Sandra and me in our suites and we can all catch up. I’ll even see if I can’t have some hot chocolate sent up.
And god, had Will ever had such a tempting offer? All he wanted was to let Arald and Sandra coddle him. For them to tell him that it would all be alright, that they still cared for him. But he had people to protect, to avenge, and to defend.
“I can’t. I have to find Horace and Gilan. We need to leave for Eisel immediately.”
“Yes, of course, Halt mentioned the situation there when he summoned me. Absolutely dreadful. If there’s anything I can do to assist-“
“Halt summoned you here?” Will hadn’t even realized he was interrupting, brain stuck on what Arald meant by that.
“Oh, yes. I thought he would have told you.”
“We haven’t exactly talked much.”
“Ah.” And there was more understanding in that single syllable than Will thought fair. “He wrote to me once you returned. He asked me to come and check in on you. I’ve only just arrived, though, there was a terribly boring but important meeting I had to see to.”
“Why did he send for you? Not that I’m complaining, I just, why?”
Baron Arlad’s face soften. “He didn’t say much, you know how stingy he is with explanations, but I believe that he hoped you could find some semblance of comfort in my company.” He looked somewhat bashful, “A reminder of home.”
“He was right.” Will admitted quietly. A reminder of home. More like a reminder of safety. Of peace. Two things Will hadn’t felt for a very long time. But having Arald’s larger than life presence besides him, he felt himself relax into the trust he had always put in the Baron. It also occurred to him that Halt knew exactly what Will needed, even if Will would never have realized it on his own. Because even with five horrible years between them, Halt knew him, better than he knew himself it would appear.

I hesitate to say this because I, myself, have no hopes at all. Do not take this to mean anything but what I am saying here.
Again: I do not believe, at this point, that Elden or Deborah will return.
The Hollywood Reporter said that they were not on the roll call.
I have never heard of a roll call. My sister, who has worked in TV production for almost 20 years has also never heard of a roll call. She's a second assistant director. She asked several people who she works with, including the showrunner on a show she's on and they also said a roll call is nothing.
My friend who is a Disney+ Star Wars show extra has, indeed, also never heard of a roll call.
The point is, a roll call is probably a call sheet.
And there's a new call sheet every day. A call sheet only indicates what is happening that specific day of production and they are sent out the night before a shooting day. So, somebody not being on a call sheet means nothing except that they are not on set that day, because if the actor is on set, they must be paid. They are not called to set unless they need to film that day.
What the article in THR said, specifically, is that neither Elden nor Deborah was on the roll call. Assuming that means call sheet, it doesn't guarantee they're not on the show. It just means they are not on set that day.
However, I don't know if the source is extrapolating they are not on the show at all or if THR is. The wording was they are not expected to return.
So, you know, for reference, not being on a call sheet means nothing. All it means is "this actor is not filming today"
That being said, I, personally, have no faith and am keeping my expectations underground. I don't think they'll be coming back and honestly, if there's no Foggy, recast or not, I'm not really interested. I think he's too key to the idea of Daredevil to excise.
But, you know, for reference.

what is up with the uk tour?
just a general ask because over the run of their production there have just been so many weird decisions and coincidences - two original principals leaving, the inexplicable shift for Nat Pilk to S/P instead of swing and the absence of a second swing after that, needing replacement principal costumes for Alana and Jen (and a wig for the latter) only 2/3rds of the way through the contract - plus two sets of production photos and their being sent to Korea instead of the Australian cast who are much closer and would not have other tour obligations to worry about. is there any evidence or idea about what was going on during the initial casting & fitting processes, or is it all just dumb luck that so much went off-kilter for them?
- Two original principals leaving were both cited as personal reasons. I don’t know their life, so I don’t really care to speculate more than that.
- With Natalie Pilkington, my guess is they had someone else lined up for one role who had to drop out at the last minute when they couldn’t easily recast. May have been that it was an S/P and they had Natalie Pilkington take over (S/P alt and one swing is logistically more preferable than no alt and two swings). Or it could have been that she have wanted to move on from being a swing to an alt (alts get to perform more with more guaranteed dates and primarily playing two tracks is lower stress) so that was the plan anyway, *and* someone else was planned as swing but has to drop. Someone needing to drop out could have been for any number of reasons - something personal with family or health or getting another contract that they chose to do instead are all fairly common reasons for someone to drop out of a contract between accepting it and starting it.
- Sometimes there might be seemingly unnecessary costume replacements and in that case, yes, sometimes it’s a show preparing for an actor to stick around for another contract and just replacing in advance to minimize wear. But there are so many very normal and mundane reasons for costumes to change beyond that and we see it a fair bit for a wide number of those reasons: Lauren Drew stopped wearing her original Aragon costume about two months into her contract and got an entirely new one. Samantha Pauly got a new skirt over the summer about 2/3 of the way through her 2021-2022 contract, Claudia Kariuki got a new corset almost 2/3 of the way through her 2021-2022 contract, etc. In the case of all the UKT changes, the replacements/alterations were very needed, so they were going to happen irregardless of whether or not people are going to stick around long term. I don’t want to dive too much into why because I want to respect what the actors themselves have said or not said, but (content warning for some discussion of body insecurity) you can read this post from Jen that indicates some of why she needed a new costume, and (content warning for weight loss before/after photos) this one from Chloe explaining the alterations to her costumes. I also posted this and this which give some context for some of why the changes might have happened as well.
I will say that I don’t feel like most of this is particularly out of the ordinary, for Six or for theatre more broadly! Again, actors have to drop out between being cast and the show starting all the time for any number of familial/health/personal/scheduling reasons. We’ve even seen this referenced as happening with other Six casts QUITE a few times. It’s a big part of why they wait until they’re significantly into rehearsals to announce cast to be as sure as they can that nothing will change. New costumes and alterations are made quite a bit, so this isn’t anything significantly out of the norm and again it was out of legitimate necessity. It all reads as totally normal and/or personal reasons rather than issues with the costumes themselves.
Re: South Korea. It’s mostly about longevity. Both Australia and the UK and Ireland Tour have been touring for quite a while. They’ve both gone to basically every venue in their respective countr(y/ies). At a certain point, demand starts to go down because many of the people who will want to see it will have gotten a chance to (same thing happens with every other touring show!).
Australia is wrapping up. They’ve done all the largest Australian cities, sometimes several times over. They only had scheduled tour stops through mid February. Contracts are up and several of the actors are moving on to other shows. If they were to do South Korea they’d basically have their final Aus show, a month off (which would mean they’re not working but would also be a barrier to them moving on to find other shows too), go back to do SK for a few weeks, and then be done. As much as I’d love for it to happen, there’s just not all that much incentive for Six to do that.
UK and Ireland Tour demand has lessened as well, but there’s still definitely enough for them to justify continuing the tour. But they’ve done a lot of the UK stops several times over, so to try to keep the tour sustained and worth the while (aka working most of the time), we’re going to see the UKT start branching out and being scheduled for other, newer stops and locations and/or places they haven’t visited as much (like Holland and Belfast/Dublin, respectively).
So. Aus yes is closer and yes they did initially suggest that Aus might do some shows, but Aus doesn’t really have an argument to continue for another contract especially just for one or maybe two stops. Meanwhile it’s super beneficial for UKT to do it from a business perspective. So….UKT it is.

Thought vomit:
I do wonder about that post of Steve's. We talked so much about how she had never posted photos of his house and how there were apparently photos she had taken that "got sent to a blog"
Then I remember the posts that Dustbin made at the beginning of 2022 that were up for five minutes before being taken down, (later on that reposted sister wedding invite IG story). A post that also included a video from his backyard in LA (I still have the screenrecording somewhere of the video)
If you compare those two situations it implies that Steve had full permission and the ability to leave his post up, while the other clearly did not
I do wonder if they were intended to troll the trio back....
It also gets me wondering about how they would possibly have met and why all of the timelines seem to indicate there was no way for it to have happened prior to NYE2021/22 due to the travel and COVID filming restrictions (lord knows he's violated those before anyway....)
The only public persona link I can make is through Trash to Lucas B (who got advised to get away from her) to Nina D (met at Cannes one year, there's pics out there, I'm not digging them up) then to Scott and onwards etc
Although that doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't also organised through agencies etc and tied into some BS with the Netflix promo of her now cancelled show (I'm pretty sure they'll go full English language, recast the lead with a young American actress) but it would explain an actual person to person connection that's viewable, who knows how good friends any of them are with each other IRL though, these people play pretend for a living after all

CASTINGCALL , he smiled understandingly ⸺ much more than understandingly. it was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it , that you may come across four or five times in life. now starring , lincoln becker.

𝐀𝐂𝐓 𝐈. 𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐄 𝐈. ( tw: undiagnosed illness )
born in chicago, illinois with a past as questionable as his acting abilities according to some film critics who will not be named as they do not deserve further attention. the moral framework of his family was shattered from the time he could recall a first memory. irene, his mother, a waitress and immigrant from greece ( and a contestant on the 1979 miss greece beauty contest ) had whisked him away before he knew his father — a man she would paint as someone of questionable principles and moral rot. the monster under the bed. a man who didn’t want to be a father. the mythical man.
irene’s accounts of her marriage were based on delusions, figments of her imagination, that had ranged from a cheating husband to wildly outlandish beliefs, paranoia and unsettled emotions. instability not only with her past marriage, but with every relationship formed in her life; subsequently lincoln’s as well — the lingering symptom and the very reason he spent years in search of the man who he knew only by way of an unreliable narrator.
a troubled youth acting out against every relocation, reinvented identity, and new ‘ father figure ’ brought home, and there were many, lincoln managed to have himself thrown out of every school in which he was enrolled in. characteristically, to everything done in spite of irene, he was met with various comments about how he was, “ just like his father, ” which built up that fantasy of his father in his head, an idealistic version of the man.
england would be claimed as irene’s utopia. packed bags and an uprooted life for another man, another life and new career, this time lincoln was almost eleven and irene’s utopia lasted six months. at the age of fifteen, he picked up boxing to earn some money; this money making idea however, ended up getting him a broken nose, a scarred lip, and several broken knuckle.
to the dismay of lincoln, and bright idea of irene’s newest boyfriend, he was sent back to the states and enrolled into the military academy at seventeen but later, as was expected, was expelled for insubordination.
𝐀𝐂𝐓 𝐈𝐈. 𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐄 𝐈.
after which, at nineteen, he’d moved to california, where he’d started the search for his father, someone who’d allegedly had some connection to the hollywood scene years ago. to make ends meet, he and his roommate at the time, someone who was trying to build a career in the show business as an actor, used to hold bare-knuckle boxing matches in their apartment. the fights wouldn’t end until someone passed out.
and thus, his exposure to the hollywood scene. a stunt coordinator happened to stumble upon one and within a few months time lincoln was on a film set. stunts eventually turned into the additional extra or small speaking part when needed . . . and eventually acting roles. always action films. his stunt work on a series of action heavy films with the same director as the previous 2008 bond film, quantum of solace, gave him a foot in the door. the rest was fate.
an ill-timed contract error with the previous 007 actor and a studio about to lose millions made way for a controversial pick for the 2012 bond film, skyfall. lincoln’s age at the time rivaled george lazenby in what the studio assumed would follow timothy dalton’s bond timeline, two films, maybe three to finish off the story before another recast. he was polarizing, loved or hated and not just due to his time in england chalked up to age eleven to seventeen but his age and some would say acting abilities.
wasn’t he just a glorified stuntman? his recognition grew and as far as acting goes, he stuck to the suspense and action films, but of course his biggest credit has been bond ( only having done three instead of six because he hadn’t been under contract at the time ) . but despite all of the success found in the film industry, the reason he came hadn’t been fulfilled and he still hasn’t found peace in that. recently, there has been talk that he might return to stunt work alone if no contract is finalized for the role of bond.
inspo : buster keaton , icarus , driver ( 2011 ) , marlon brando , jay gatsby , cliff booth
𝐁𝐄𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐒
he has a book collection despite never reading much, all gifted from various people and he’s never one rejected such a gift.
his imdb has more stunt work compared to acting, the early 2000′s comprised of stunts and a stunt double for a notable actor at the time.
accent wise it leans muddled english or not quite standard american depending on who is asked, but he has a presser accent for anything press related
refused to pick a more marketable name to go by in case his father ever found him
filmography to be edited but most notably from the end of 2003 - 2009 he was primarily credited for stunt work / stunt doubles and minor acting roles.
examples : public enemies ( 2009 ) as pretty boy floyd + stunts , inception ( 2010 ) as eames , warrior ( 2011 ) as tommy conlon , skyfall ( 2012 ) as james bond , gangster squad ( 2013 ) , sin city: a dame to kill for ( 2014 ) as johnny , spectre ( 2015 ) as james bond , no time to die ( 2021 ) as james bond , death on the nile ( 2022 ) simon doyle

I used to be a recast collector when I first came into this hobby, and I really liked chinabjd recasters for their service. They were always nice, asking for eye color, fixing face ups when I asked for changes, and I always left good reviews for them. And then one time they've sent me a doll with a smudged face which probably happened before they packaged it, and when I messaged them to complain, they blocked me on both of their stores. Thanks I guess? Never bought recasts after that again

Life Could Be a Dream - Chapter 2
Live in Living Colour Series Masterlist
Masterlist
Summary: (Y/N) slowly begins to remember their life with “Pietro” before WestView as they move through the decades, but sometimes knowledge is a curse rather than a blessing.
Pairing: Pietro (Peter) Maximoff x Reader
Word Count: 1.3k
Warning: WandaVision Episode 6 spoilers! Read at your own risk!
Author’s Note: Here’s the highly requested second part to Be Okay! You don’t have to read it to understand this story, but it does fill in the gap during the 80s episode and give a little more context into the reader’s mind. Also, the reader’s powers and Halloween costume are highly based off of Starlight from the boys even though I did my best to make it gender neutral, but that’s what I kinda envisioned!
(Not My Gif!)
Your hips swayed as you danced around the kitchen, the sound of The Chords’ “Life Could Be a Dream” filled the room from the record player in the corner your beloved vinyl was spinning on. Chopping pineapple for the jell-o in the bundt mold beside you, you hummed along to the familiar tune as your feet shuffled back and forth on the checkered floor.
A whooshing sound and light breeze behind you tore your attention away from the task at hand. Turning around quickly, you were met with the smiling face of your loving boyfriend, relaxing in a chair with his feet propped up against the kitchen table. His dark jeans were complimented by a letterman jacket adorning his shoulders, his shades of grey complimenting your own and those surrounding the both of you.
“My partner and their impeccable taste in music.” He smirked, arms crossed behind his head.
“My boyfriend and his faster-than-a-bullet superspeed.” You retorted, shuffling over to your man and giving him a playful smack on the leg. “Feet off the table! We’ve gotta eat here in a few hours!”
Pietro whooshed once again, this time with one hand in your waist while the other held yours, finally slowing down enough to gently rock you to the music. Life really could be a dream, and you were experiencing it first-hand.
“What is happening? Where did this come from?!” Agent Woo asked, watching the dancing couple sway as a hexagon framed the image and the words ‘Pietro(Y/N)’ shone across the screen.
“I don’t know! When Wanda recast Pietro an extra broadcast started from inside the hex and this is what the channel’s playing.” Darcy explained, taking a sip of her long awaited coffee as the end credits began to roll. “She must have somehow created another storyline for them.”
“But, wait… Didn’t somebody say that (Y/L/N) went missing before the blip?” Monica commented, pointing at your smiling face on the screen.
“Last I heard was that they got beamed up on that spaceship in New York with Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, but nobody’s seen them since.” Jimmy added, crossing his arms with a furrowed brow.
“Well wherever they were, they’re back in action.”
You woke up with a gasp, shooting straight up as a cold sweat adorned your body. Your nightmare had been something that you couldn’t believe your mind had imagined, it was so real, so dark…
You had been on a strange planet surrounded by shades or orange and red, weirdly dressed people fighting all around you. At the centre of it all was this purple giant, a metallic glove adorning his hand as he fought the group of you away.
Before you knew what you were doing you were rushing towards him, hand raised as a tingling feeling ran down your arm while golden light formed around your hand. But your attack was to no avail as with a clench of his fist the giant had opened a red hole in front of you and you began free falling.
“What? What is it?” Pietro grumbled, slowly waking up at your sudden outburst. He sat up as well, rubbing his hand on your lower back soothingly.
“It was just a dream, babe.” You brushed it off, turning to face Pietro and leaning closer towards him. His eyes still held worry and a bit of disbelief as you played it off, but rather than argue, he just held you close as the two of you laid back down until sleep took it’s hold once more.
“How much longer ‘till he calls?” Darcy whined, spinning in her chair as the boredom of watching reruns overtook her. You and Peter had just finished your ‘80s episode, meaning that the two of you had just reunited with Wanda and Vision.
“Don’t worry, he’ll call.” Monica replied, and as if on cue the name ‘Jimmy Woo’ was flashing upon her phone screen. She was quick to answer and eagerly pressed the device to her ear. “Woo? What’d your guy say?”
“Scott said that (Y/N) hasn’t been seen since they were on a planet called Titan fighting Thanos. Stark apparently told him that they got tossed in some hole he opened and they couldn’t get them back.” Jimmy explained, the sound of a car moving filling the background as he was already on his way back from talking to Lang.
“You don’t think that he sent her to wherever this new Pietro came from, do you?” Monica responded, Darcy shrugging her shoulders in response.
“I mean, it’s well within the realm of possibilities?”
“What are you boys doing?” You called from the bottom of the stairs to where Pietro and the twins were playing some video game on the tv, laughing and shouting as they shot at each other. “Piet, why aren’t you in your costume?”
Your boyfriend finally turned to face you and your Halloween costume had his jaw quite literally dropping. You adorned a white costume with a golden star and accents on the front, meanwhile your cape was white with countless smaller stars decorating it’s entirety.
“Wow! Babe, you look… Wow!” He ogled, speeding over to you as his eyes took in your costumed appearance. He ignored your question, Wanda having to bug her brother once more for him to drag Tommy with him to make their matching Quicksilver costumes, their hair slicked up on the sides in an odd way.
Before you knew it the five of you were making your way down the street bustling with costumed kids. Pietro and Wanda were a couple steps ahead of you with the twins, you making the decision to take a minute to appreciate your domestic life while the siblings caught up.
“Unleash hell, demon spawn!” Pietro yelled as the twins went running off to fill their buckets with candy. You weren’t trying to eavesdrop, however you weren’t very far behind them and neither twin was making any effort to speak quietly.
“Do you remember when we were at the orphanage when mom and dad died?” She asked, the duo stopping to talk to each other in the middle of the busy road. While you didn’t intend to stop yourself, the sudden confusion that struck your mind left you no other choice.
Orphanage? Why would Peter have ever been in an orphanage when both his parents were still alive? Wait, Peter? Where was all this coming from?
Suddenly your life was quite literally flashing before your eyes. Getting your powers, joining the Avengers, falling through the portal to another reality, meeting the X-Men… Oh, and Peter. Your relationship with Peter came back in moments, from your first meeting to the day he kissed you after you almost died on a mission. And how could you ever have forgotten your wedding day?!
“Peter?” You asked out loud. Whether you were calling out to the man who you now remember to be your husband or questioning the memories that you had just regained you weren’t sure.
Your sudden comment caused Peter/Pietro to scoff in disbelief and furrow his brows, meanwhile Wanda’s expression darkened as her eyes glared daggers into your head.
“Did you just call me Peter?” He asked incredulously, but his face quickly softened as he saw the fear in your eyes. You were utterly dumbfounded, How did you get back here? Last thing you remembered was being at the school, then all of a sudden you were living in some sit-com town.
“Why doesn’t he remember me? Wanda, what have you done?” Your voice wavered, your gaze shifting from Peter to Wanda, who would have already murdered you if looks could kill.
“I have no idea what you're talking about.” Her eyes flashed red, meanwhile Peter was standing there as if everything around him was completely normal.
“I think you do. Don’t make me do this, Wanda.” Your eyes began glowing as well. There was no way this would be ending well.

SPOILER WARNING: Do not read if you haven’t seen all of Season 1 of “Loki,” currently streaming on Disney Plus.
Ever since “Loki” first premiered in June, Kate Herron, who directed all six episodes of the Marvel Studios series, has had to pretend like she knew far less than she really does. For one, she couldn’t acknowledge that the homages to sci-fi classics like “Blade Runner” and “Brazil” that she’d baked into the elaborate sets for the Time Variance Authority — the cosmic bureaucracy tasked with maintaining the sacred timeline — were “meant to be sinister” rather than just “playful and quirky.”
For another, Herron was delighted to see fans theorizing after the very first episode that Kang the Conqueror — a character already set to appear in the Marvel Studios feature “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” as played by Jonathan Majors — was really pulling the strings of the TVA. But until the finale streamed last Wednesday, she couldn’t even hint that those fans were only half right: Majors does play the mastermind of the TVA, but he’s a variant of Kang referred to as He Who Remains. It’s only after He Who Remains encounters Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and his female variant counterpart Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), and Sylvie plunges a blade into his heart, that the multiverse is reborn, creating the possibility for Kang the Conqueror to emerge.
Again, though: Herron couldn’t acknowledge any of that, even to those closest to her.
“Nothing has prepared me better for working with Marvel than playing tabletop games with my friends,” she says with a laugh. “It definitely taught me how to have a good poker face. You have to hide your hand — and sometimes lie.”
Now, thankfully, all of that is behind her — as is “Loki” itself. Despite receiving widespread acclaim for her assured, ambitious, and visually sumptuous work directing the show, Herron says she has decided not to return for Season 2 of the series.
“I gave it everything — in my soul, in my heart, everything,” she says. “I feel so proud of the work we’ve done. And yeah, I’ll be enjoying Season 2 as a fan.”
She’s quick to sing the praises of everyone she worked with at Marvel, and she says she’s “sure” she’ll work again with the studio. For now, however, she’s ready to take a holiday, and then turn to a project she’s writing herself “that’s really close to my heart that I really want to make.”
“It’s my own decision, but I just feel like my part with ‘Loki’ is finished now and I’m just excited to see where his story goes,” she says.
Before she parts ways for good, however, Herron spoke with Variety about bringing Jonathan Majors into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, what she thought of the shocking revelation about infinity stones and what she would like to see happen in Season 2.
She always knew “Loki” would introduce Kang and the Multiverse…
From the very start, Herron says, she and head writer Michael Waldron knew that their six-episode run of “Loki” would always end with Loki and Sylvie meeting He Who Remains at his citadel, the result of which would cause the creation of the multiverse.
As Episode 6 makes clear, both of these events were massive turning points for the future of the MCU — and Herron still can’t quite believe she got to be the one to make them a reality.
“We were just, like, waiting to be told, ‘Actually, guys, we’ve had a change [of heart],'” Herron says. Instead, Herron says she and “Quantumania” director Peyton Reed participated in casting Majors in the role.
“I was just like, pinch me,” she says. “I can’t believe I was at the table for that, because I know it was such a big decision for them all.”
Herron also decided to have Majors provide the voices for all three “Timekeepers” who are supposedly at the head of the TVA, but are revealed by Sylvie to be nothing more than “mindless androids.”
“We didn’t have someone cast for those voices,” she says. “I remember thinking, well, ‘Wizard of Oz’ is clearly a reference for us. We should have the wizard. It’d be great if it’s Jonathan. So we sent him all the art of the timekeepers. And he just kind of came up with these incredible voices for each of them.”
…but not with a cliffhanger.
The most significant decision of the season, though, may be that it ends with a giant cliffhanger, when Loki discovers he’s in a brand new reality for the TVA in which Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku) don’t even recognize him. But while Herron knew how this season of “Loki” would end, at first, she did not know that there would be any more seasons after it.
“When I started, there wasn’t a discussion of Season 2, exactly,” she says. “It was just that season of ‘Loki.’ As we got deeper into production, everyone was very happy, and obviously there’s so much to explore with Loki. It felt like we should continue the story. So I think the cliffhanger ending came in later in the process.”
Herron says she sprinkled in some hints to viewers that Loki is in a new timeline, like redressing sets to look slightly off, and recasting Eugene Cordero’s TVA receptionist Casey as a hunter headed to the armory in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment. But her favorite bit is that the final line — said by Mobius to Loki — is the same as the first line spoken in the show, by a woman in the Gobi desert, also to Loki: “Who are you?”
“That was kind of the question of the whole first season,” Herron says.
She was just as shocked about the Infinity Stones as everyone else.
In the first episode, Loki discovers to his horror that not only does his magic not work inside the TVA, but Infinity Stones — heretofore believed to be the most powerful objects in the known universe — are just inert rocks there. The revelation sent shockwaves across the Marvel fandom; Herron was right there with them.
“That was in Michael’s script when I first got it to pitch [for the directing job],” she says. “I remember being like, ‘WHAT?! You put me through so much!’ But then I thought, ‘Oh, it’s kind of genius, because it shows how powerful the TVA are. Who are these people? What is this place?'”
Herron especially appreciated how her shock — and the audience’s mirrored Loki’s own as the rug gets pulled out from under him. “I was quite excited by it,” she says. “It really shows you that there’s a new power in the MCU — and it’s not what we we spent the last decade dedicating our lives to.”
She told Kevin Feige she wanted gender parity among her crew.
Prior to “Loki,” Herron’s most high profile job was directing the second half of the first season of the Netflix dramedy “Sex Education.” She got the “Loki” job thanks to a 60-page pitch memo that filled out just about every detail of the world of the show. After hiring her, she says Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige asked her, “What are your terms?”
“This was the first time I was gonna get to hire my heads of department on a television show I worked on,” she says. “I was like, I’d really love [the crew] to be 50/50 across gender.”
Herron says she wasn’t out to fill any jobs on the film with a specific gender. But, she says, “There aren’t enough women in these roles. They’re out there. It’s a lack of opportunity. It’s not a lack of interest.”
She did end up hiring two women for critical roles that are still rarely occupied by women: cinematographer Autumn Durald (“The Sun Is Also a Star”) and composer Natalie Holt (History’s “Knightfall”).
“I felt like she was inside my mind,” Herron says of Durald. “We have the same taste. And I love the way that she talks about light as a character.”
Herron hired Holt unusually early for a composer, after she’d completed editing the first episode during the pandemic shutdown. She knew that the particular sci-fi film noir look of the show that she was developing with Durald needed similarly unique music, and she liked that part of Holt’s pitch was focusing on Loki’s identity as a character.
“Her music then started to inspire how I wanted to shoot other scenes,” Herron says. She’s especially enamored of Holt’s vision for her dynamic and foreboding theme for the TVA.
“She was like, ‘Oh, let’s have that theme be Kang’s’ — well, He Who Remains, I guess, in our show. But I hope that will go on to be Kang’s theme. That was the real fun of it is that you feel like he’s really played a hand now across the whole show, because you realize that music is his music.”
Herron, Durald, and Holt all deliver distinctive and superlative work that’s nothing like the MCU has quite seen before — and nothing quite like anything previously in their careers, either. And that’s entirely the point.
“I think for us, it was about just showing people what we could do and that we could do it at this level,” Herron says.
The episode in which Loki comes out as bisexual was inspired by Alfonso Cuarón and Richard Linklater.
Every episode of “Loki” features multiple extended scenes of two characters just talking to one another, a rarity in a comic book production. Herron says that cutting Episode 1 together during the pandemic lockdown and seeing the scenes between Loki and Mobius (Owen Wilson) play out so well “definitely gave us confidence” to continue that rhythm for the rest of the show.
That was especially true for Episode 3. Written by Bisha K. Ali (who went on to create the upcoming Marvel Studios series “Ms. Marvel”), the episode is essentially an extended meet-cute between Loki and Sylvie as they get to know each other on a planet doomed for total annihilation.
“Bisha’s reference was ‘Before Sunrise’ and ‘Children of Men,'” says Herron. “And it lit my brain on fire. It was kind of weird. It was almost like a bottle episode in the sense that we’re just with the two characters, but obviously, it’s Marvel, right? So they’re bonding in this Apocalypse, which also feels very Loki at the same time.”
That episode is best known for making Marvel Studios history, when Loki casually mentions that he’s had dalliances with both men and women. Herron says that when she first interviewed for the job, she asked if the show was going to acknowledge Loki’s sexuality, which had long been established in the comics as bisexual or pansexual.
“I think everyone wanted to acknowledge it,” she says. “It was just really about giving a care and consideration and doing it in the right way. I think everyone knew it was gonna be quite a big moment. So it was just really about doing it in a way that felt respectful. And honoring it.”
Herron also confirms what many fans had suspected, that she deliberately made the lighting scheme for the scene evoke the blue, purple and red of the bisexual flag. “We knew what we were doing with that scene,” she says with a smile.
She has a lot of ideas for what she’d like to see in Season 2.
Since Herron will be watching Season 2 of “Loki” only “as a fan,” she is also free to wildly speculate as to what she’d most like to see happen — like how, wherever Loki story leads, “we’ve opened the door” for the character to explore his sexuality with men as well as women.
Otherwise? She says she wants to know where Judge Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) goes to when she leaves the TVA in search, she tells Mobius, of “free will.”
“I love her,” Herron says. “Gugu used to always call her an indoor girl, which made me laugh, but she is. She’s in the office, but she used to be this kick-ass Hunter. So I’m like, Okay, well, where’s her path going?”
Herron is also keen to learn more about Hunter B-15’s backstory — since she deliberately decided to hide it in the scene in Episode 4 when Sylvie shows B-15 her repressed memories as a variant.
“I was like, we shouldn’t see her memories,” Herron says. “It’s a character that thought they had power and realizes they have no power. It felt really powerful to at least give her some power in that scenario. The memories are private. They’re hers.” She pauses. “Also as a fan, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, who is she?!'”
“And obviously, you know, Loki and Sylvie?” Herron continues, on a roll. “He’s in a completely different reality. What’s going to happen to him? How will he get back? Or will he get back? And where’s Sylvie? She’s still in the Citadel? And the multiverse of it all. What the hell is going to happen?!”
Herron chuckles at her own excitement. “So I think there’s so many questions to be answered, and so much more road to travel with all our characters,” she says. “You know, I’m really proud that I got to set up Loki’s story here. But there’s so many different aspects of his identity and personality that’s yet to be explored. I’m excited to see where it goes.”

okay wait here's my star wars sequels 'script doctors' hot take. you actually can't just fix what we were given because the movies do not have any cohesive thematic elements or argument or, like, a thesis that runs throughout the movies in any sort of way. because there's no identifiable element to unify the movies, you can't do a real script doctor because there's no 'spine'/core story to work off of. like you can tie up plot holes or cut boring subplots but that's just polishing up a mess. like, one of the reasons the original triology was so good is because those movies (or at least the first two) are very 'tight' about the story & themes they convey. even the prequels at least have the backbone of Anakin's tragedy to work off of if you're trying to 'fix' them.
so my preferred fix is to just play with entirely new characters (rey, finn & poe) and not try to drag out whatever happened in the OT. they could have largely cut the old trio out and only had their appearances be cameos rather than major contributors to the plot, and then not had the sequels be particularly related to the OT at all, sort of how the Mandalorian draws from established lore/previous movies but isn't reliant on them to tell its own story. kylo ren then would have just been a regular sith antagonist without a tragic backstory and flat redemption arc. however if they wanted to go with a continuation of the skywalker legacy & then also with the theme of 'forging a new future means discarding traditions which no longer work' and the ongoing saga of the original trio failing their direct legacy (kylo ren), then they needed to cut poe.
(this makes me sad, because I really like Poe.)
i think a lot of 'fix-it' solutions to the sequels run into what i call the 'kylo ren problem', which is that if you're continuing the legacy of the OT then it seems obvious you should include a Han-Leia kid, but also if you include that character as an antagonist then clearly they need to be redeemed bc they're the precious main character legacy. you could just make him a protagonist but also everyone associates him with being a villain so much that this seems lackluster, so people focus on trying to fix his redemption.
anyway, i have been running the numbers in my head since the raise of skywalker came out, and if you want to keep the kylo ren element (which I think you do if you're going the route of continuing the original trilogy rather than making up an independent set of films), then i think... i think you have to show his fall on-screen in the first movie, so that you can see him as a potential protagonist and then route for his eventual redemption in the third movie. and if you do that the way i'm about to propose, then poe becomes redundant.
okay, here's what i would propose, if i found myself in some sort of very meta time travel fix-it fic where disney put me in charge of the new star wars movies and demanded i had to have skywalkers so they could milk recasting the original actors: we keep finn and rey essentially as-is, but we make kylo ren the third member of the trio. before anyone loses their shit at me, this would require massive rewrite of his character-- like i'm going to say 'kylo' from here out, but this is essentially a new character and honestly i would have made the leia-han baby a girl but whatever
so we have for movie #1:
finn - honestly i thought about nixing the first order all together, but finn's character concept is the coolest in the entire sequels trilogy. we keep finn breaking through his brain washing when he's sent to massacre a village, but for this movie the big bad authoritarian person/main antagonist is phasma, not kylo ren. finn steals a ship & escapes on his own & crash lands on jakku. maybe we keep the 'map to luke' mcguffin but finn has stolen it himself as a 'fuck you'/'doing what is right rather than what you are told' moment. also this finn is force sensitive and gets to be a jedi later, fuck YOU, movies
rey - rey is still a garbage collecting desert orphan on jakku. she still runs into finn & a trading outpost or whatever that was and offers him help. i think i would lean into her more as a engineering genius and maybe she decodes the mcguffin finn has stolen and is like YOU NEED TO GET THIS TO THE NEW REPUBLIC :D and finn is like: actually i cannot be seen by the new republic? because i don't understand why the first order was pitched as the people in charge that needed a 'rebel' group instead of just like a terrorist organization vs the fragile new democracy set up in the wake of the empire. anyway finn does not want to approach any sort of republic authority because he is secretly a fleeing storm trooper/a reformed terrorist but rey is very gung-ho about finding him a ship
this ends with them trying to find a pilot with a ship to get off-world a la a new hope, and they find kylo ren in a seedy bar. everything about kylo is meant to call back to han solo's swagger except maybe a dark haired woman? please? so the audience is like 'ah yes, the han solo replacement.' kylo is NOT interested in going in to rendezvous with republic authorities for unstated reasons. when rey very conspiratorially reveals the mcguffin kylo makes an incredibly put-upon face and is like well..... indicating he recognizes the right thing to do here but is hesitant to actually go along with it
however the first order shows up and we get that scene of everyone fleeing to the millennium falcon together. the argument over what to do with the mcguffin continues on ship but is interrupted by han and chewie showing up in almost exactly the same way as in TFA, and kylo makes a definite oh SHIT! face and disappears. han meets rey and finn and is like 'YOU'RE not the flyboy who stole my ship??' and the whole confusion with tentacle monsters still happens but THIS time it's resolved by kylo showing up last minute with a lightsaber fight. like it's a very dramatic reveal and han and kylo are mutually like YOU!!!
and the backstory we get is that luke's jedi academy dissolved in some unspecified tragedy* that made him go hermit and also for kylo to become very disillusioned with the whole jedi thing and fuck off with his dad's stolen ship
*i'm not sure what the specifics of this tragedy would be, but i think it must be some sort of outside force wiping out a bunch of luke's students but ALSO involve luke making some sort of bad call so there's an element of guilt/blame
and then i'm less sure what the details of the rest of the movie would be like, but i want hints at a shadow sith figure talking to phasma and also showing kylo being incredibly jaded with his old life and being conflicted about being reunited with his dad. rey can still randomly find anakin's light saber and have her freaky force vision?
so maybe we still have the dramatic show-down on starkiller base, but the plot point are: phasma herself shows up to confront rey & finn. she's accompanied by the shadowy figure implied to be her boss, who reveals a red light saber (and has, like, a cool black robe and mask design for toy marketing reasons). rey gets her first light saber fight while finn engages phasma. MEANWHILE, we keep the plot beat where han dies except this time kylo fails to prevent it. as he has a breakdown over it, the shadowy figure leaves right before finishing rey. finn rushes over to her, takes the light saber, and uses it to defeat phasma.
we get a "aren't you so pathetic?" speech from fake darth vader to kylo, followed by some emotional manipulation, and the scene ends with kylo following the figure.
rey and finn stagger in with chewie to find kylo gone & han dead and they both reach different conclusions but i can't decide which would go for which? and i think maybe kylo leaves his lightsaber behind so BOTH finn and rey have legacy lightsabers; whichever one sympathizes more with kyo keeps his
and then in the NEXT movie we would explore how rey & finn's paths to understanding the force differ, maybe sticking one with luke and one with leia? kylo ren is the antagonist of this film but because we've already seen him functioning as a likable good guy (and while he's a villain in the sequel, we'd also show him holding back from doing 'crosses even MY moral line' thing a few times), his one-movie redemption arc will work better. also i guess we can introduce poe as leia's favored general/ace pilot
i'm not going into more detail because i think i'd have to really think about how rey & finn's backgrounds affect their approach to their paths forward. like maybe have kyloe ren already friends with rey at the beginning of the movie so she's the bright-eyed 'there's still GOOD IN HIM' character? but anyway: there i fixed the kylo ren problem (which i think could also be fixed by just not being obsessed with milking the original trilogy and removing him entirely, but if WE WANT TO KEEP THIS ELEMENT.... there u go)

Simon gets called out at the beginning of class to go on a secret mission for the Mage, and even though it has happened before, it seems to irritate me more today. Why does Simon keep allowing the Mage to use him as his pawn?
He is more than a bomb that the Mage can point at one of his many enemies and allow to go off. He’s a person, a boy, and he doesn’t deserve to be treated like this, like he’s expendable. I don’t understand how I am the only one who sees this. Surely, even Penny would be wary of this. But I guess no one is willing to go up against the Mage like that. (Except maybe Fiona.)
One of these days, he is going to get himself killed, and I will not sit idly by and watch that happen. I have to make Simon see that he’s being used, that he doesn’t have to keep doing this. As soon as this class lets out, I take off in search of Simon. Maybe if I’m lucky, I’ll be able to catch up with him before he gets too far away.
He isn’t in our room, but his scent is strong here, which means he was here not long ago. I rush over to the window and look out of it over the grounds to see if I can see him walking away, but he isnt there. I’ll have to cast a spell then.
It works instantly, and I can feel Simon. He’s close. The spell starts to pull me towards him, and I take off out of our room, practically flying down the steps. I’m not sure my feet even touch the ground, but I don’t have time to stop and think about that because I have to reach Simon before it’s too late.
The spell is leading me towards the gates. I’m not sure how I’ll be able to get through with one of the Mage’s gates standing guard, but I will do whatever it takes, including spelling the idiot out of my way if I have to.
I don’t have to worry about that, though, because there’s no one there.
That’s strange, I think. There has been someone standing there every day since eighth year began, so something must have happened if the station has been abandoned.
I slow as I reach the gates to open them, and I take a moment to recast the spell to strengthen. It feels like I’m close to him, but it doesn’t feel like Simon has moved any farther away since I initially cast the spell. If there was a threat this close to the school, you would think that the Mage would have raised some kind of alarm, but he doesn’t even have anyone at the gate. It just goes to show how terrible he is at his job.
I continue to follow the pull of the spell, and it brings me to the road, then across it, then to the woods on the other side.
I can hear some sort of commotion now, and I pick up my pace. I have to help Simon. He probably won’t want it, but that’s too bad. I would die a thousand times over in order to protect him. I will not let him die if there is any way that I can prevent it.
When I reach Simon, there is no sign of the Mage of any of his men. It appears like they abandoned him here to handle this threat on his own. It’s unbelievable.
Simon is being surrounded by dozens of goblins, all of whom are vying for his head. He is doing his best to fight them off with his sword, but it isn’t enough. He’s fighting a losing battle.
One of the goblins has managed to get behind him and has a knife raised over him, ready to attack. Before I even have time to think about it, I have summoned a ball of fire in my hand, and I send it soaring in the goblin’s direction. It makes a contact, and with nothing more than a shriek, the goblin catches fire then disintegrates into ash.
Simon spins around to see what happened, and he’s understandably shocked to see me. “Baz?”
“Watch out!” I shout, rushing forward to cast a spell at a goblin that lunged at Simon as soon as he turned his back.
I keep casting spells and sending fire at the remaining goblins, and once Simon recovers from his shock, he turns to fight with me, swinging his sword wildly about, beheading one gobbling after another. He’s brilliant at it, and I almost wish I could stop and watch him in action.
We fight side by side, killing goblin after goblin, but our efforts seem futile because the goblins just keep coming at us, spilling through the trees on all sides, forcing Simon and I to stand back to back. It doesn’t look like we’re going to make it out of here alive, but we can’t give up.
One of the goblins manages to knock my wand from my hand, and I curse under my breath. I can summon my fire without it, but as the goblins close in on us and I start to grow tired from so much use of magic, I’m not sure how longer I can keep doing it.
The goblins manage to get a few good hits and cuts on us, and the smell of Simon’s blood forces my fangs to push through my gums. I could bite them, but goblins are foul and bitter tasting beings. Plus, it would leave me open to attacks from the others if I got distracted by one of them.
“You should go,” I hear Simon say behind me.
“What?”
“You’re stronger than I am. You’ll be able to make it out of here alive. Just go!”
“I’m not leaving you here! You will never be able to defeat them all on your own.”
He’s quite for a moment, and I hear a demon cry out as Simon stabs at the same time that I shoot some more fire at the ones in front of me. It’s getting harder to summon it; my magic is starting to run low. But I won’t run. I won’t leave Simon behind. I could never live with myself if I left him here to die.
“We just have to keep fighting. Someone will come help us eventually.” I don’t even believe it as I say it.
“Who? No one even knows we’re here.”
“What?! I thought the Mage sent you here.”
“He did, but he said that he had a more pressing matter to attend to. There were only a few goblins at the time, and this is my responsibility. It’s me they’re after. Which is why you should go. It’s not you they want. They’ll probably just let you leave.”
If I make it out of this alive, I am going to murder the Mage.
“I’m not leaving you!” I repeat. I look around for my wand, but I don’t see it. The next flame I summon is barely more than an ember, and it only injures the goblin in front of me, rather than killing it.
“I’m sorry, Baz!” Simon shouts, and the tone in his voice worries me.
“Why are you sorry?” I shout back, whirling around to see what he’s about to do.
That’s when everything goes black.
***
When I come to, all I see is trees.
With a groan, I force myself to sit up. There is a pounding in my head, but most of my other injuries have already started to heal. I look around and am relieved to find that Simon is lying beside,
“What happened?” I asked. “The last thing I remember is you apologizing.”
“I went off,” he says, grimacing like he hates to admit it. “I tried not to because I was worried that you would get hurt. That wouldn’t have been a problem if you had run like I told you.”
“I couldn’t leave you there!” I say, angry because he actually believes that I could just abandon him like that.
“Why not?”
“Because I--.” I cut myself off before I can finish that sentence.
“You…what?”
“Nothing. I just didn’t want you to die, alright?” I look away, but then a thought occurs to me. “Why did you care whether or not you hurt me?”
“If you died because of me, I would have a lot worse problems than a horde of goblins attacking me,” he says, but the blush on his face tells a different story.
He’s right, though. If I had died, Simon would have instantly moved to the top of Fiona’s list, right above the Mage, who is coincidentally now at the top of my own list.
“Look,” Simon says, “none of this matters. We made it out alive. Now, we can go back to trying to kill each other instead of nearly getting killed by other things.”
“I don’t want to kill you,” I mutter under my breath as I push myself to my feet, but somehow, Simon hears me.
“What?”
“It’s nothing.” I start to walk away from him, back in the direction of Watford, but Simon stops me by grabbing my arm and pulling me around to face him.
“Baz…. Why did you come out here? Why did you try to help me fight the goblins when you could have let them kill me and been rid of me for good?”
“Because I don’t want you to die,” I hiss. “I actually care about whether you live or not. Unlike the Mage.”
He makes a face at that last remark but apparently decides to ignore it for now.
We’re standing barely a foot apart, and his hand is still on my arm. I could turn and run from him, but instead, I allow him to pull me closer. Because I’m weak.
“For what it’s worth, I don’t want you to die either.”
My breath catches, and my heart skips a beat. I know that it doesn’t necessarily mean that he likes me, but it’s progress. It’s better than him hating me.
He gives my arm another tug, and we’re so close now that I have to tilt my head down to look at him. He brings a hand up to rest gently on my cheek, and I can’t help the sigh that escapes me at his touch. I lean down until our noses brush but stop there, meeting his eyes. The world seems to have disappeared around us, and it’s just him and me.
Whatever happens next could change things forever. I just wish I knew what he was thinking.
“Can I kiss you?” He asks, and then I know exactly what he’s thinking.
“Yes,” I breathe.
Then he kisses me.
It’s soft yet passionate, fast but gentle. His lips part around mine in a sigh, and it is the best thing that I have felt. I feel like I’m flying for the second time today, and I wonder at how Simon can make me feel like this. Like nothing else in the world matters, which feels so true.
I love Simon. He is the most important thing in my life, and I will never let anything bad happen to him for as long as I can help it. I will keep loving him and protecting him until the day I die.

This post from @crookedcryptid suggesting Dean and Castiel were canonically together from Dean's prayer confession on put a big stupid grin on my face, and then I went off and analyzed every episode that came afterward. So here you go?
Castiel’s in about every other episode from that point. And they are actually separated in the majority of the majority of the episodes, but the way they interact is just loving.
Episode by episode analysis under the cut.
At The Trap, Dean confesses to Castiel in his prayer how he really feels (but not like that at least not in Chuck's censured version that we see) while Eileen and Sam split up bc of Chuck. It's late revealed that Chuck sent Sam Eileen and Sent Cas & Dean to Purgatory so they'd lose hope. (Cas must have defied Chuck's plan yet again by stopping Dean from voicing his feelings bc that's the only explanation I have to make this make any sense. (x) )
After Dean's confession, the next episode immediately separates Cas & Dean but Dean pines after the domestic life like Garth has with his family, an alternative lifestyle Dean once saw as unacceptably evil. (x)
But then next episode Castiel goes and finds Jack and brings him home. Brings him home to Dean who does this. (See gif above that lives rent free in my mind /\)
He holds Jack’s face just like he did Ben’s. He looks into Jack’s eyes, one then the other, as if to verify that it’s really him. Then he looks from Jack to Castiel.
This dad moment. This neck hold and look to Castiel that simultaneously says, “you brought my son home to me” but also screams in Jensen’s headcanon that Dean used to look at Jack and see Lucifer but now he looks at him and sees Cas.
(Tho that shouldn’t be hard since they clearly cast their combined biological child.)
I’m obsessed with it. It haunt my dreams and inhabits my waking brain.
The fact that this is not before ‘The Trap’ but after is so important. They didn’t set it right between them artificially, by Cas bringing Jack home. Instead, they set it right between them and then they got their son back. Otherwise, it is the last piece of the puzzle to patch their relationship. Dean was envious of Garth’s family, and suddenly Dean has his back.
In Galaxy Brain Chuck’s screen shows a view of Dean and Cas sitting super closely huddled together at the kitchen table. (x) Is actually from an earlier episode. There’s also the dadliest dadstiel moment ever, with Castiel letting his god killing, resurrected, super powered, three-year-old win at connect four, which was not in the script, but added by Misha and Sp8. (x) When Sam and Cas disagree on Jack, Cas backs up Jack and Dean supports Cas over Sam. The husbands share a whiskey while reveling in how they brought Jack up right, “I knew it, Dean. When I was with Jack’s mother, she… You know, Kelly just had faith that Jack would be good for the world, and I felt it, too. I knew it. And then, when everything went wrong, and God took him from us… I was lost in a way I’ve never been before. Because I knew the story wasn’t over. I knew Jack wasn’t done. And I was right.” (Even if Dean’s a little too excited about using Jack as a weapon.) (Maybe this line explains what's been up with the Hellers these past 6 months yall.)
This is huge, because Dean was destroyed at the end of last season, imo, bc his idea of Jack was destroyed and he felt the need to cut himself off from all thoughts that he could have that family. (x)
Cas also wordlessly goes into Dean’s backpack in a moment of routine casual intimacy.
Destiny’s Child & Dean calling Cas an idiot for risking his life yet again- not knowing that Cas felt secure in the knowledge that he wouldn't die bc of his deal. Dean was legit scared to lose him again. (oh no my heart). With that extra knowledge Cas had it's exactly the kind of thing Dean would do. Dean's done this exact thing before both when he was, and was not, suicidal. (S13, S6) They get Jack’s soul back, but first the classic “oh no my child has ingested something”.
Last Holiday- No Cas. 😒
Gimme Shelter - Our boys are separated yet again - Castiel talks to Paster Sexy (recast doctor sexy) who says it’s okay to be gay. We get a lot of charming Cas with Jack moments. Something happens in this episode, it happens off-screen and it's something we've basically have never seen in this series. Jack tells Castiel that he expects to die to defeat Chuck and rather than fall into the pattern we've seen every single season, Castiel immediately tells Dean what is going on, immediately tells Dean everything he needs to know to protect Jack.
Drag me Away From You (ugh oh no and they will) - No Cas
Unity - end of the warm wuvy dov.
Dean lets Jack think he isn’t family. Sam discovers that if they let Jack kill Chuck that Billie will kill Eileen, anyone from another dimension or resurrected and Dean. Looks. At. Cas. (x) The fear in his eyes.
By this point Dean is unhinged. He’s back to the beginning of the season when he was afraid that all of this was Chuck’s control rather than a real relationship between them. This should have been an ‘absolution’ moment for Jack, the one Castiel says here that Jack doesn’t need from anyone but himself. The closest we get to confirmation that Cas has learned that lesson himself. (x) Dean was so destroyed after his idea of Jack died that it split up his marriage … I mean…. Dean already chose Jack’s life once, even after Mary. Dean is choosing him over using him as a weapon to kill Chuck is huge considering how spun out Dean was by this point. I’m convinced that without Cas being there Dean would not have stopped, and might have let Jack sacrifice himself, might have shot Sam giving Chuck his ending.
I’m also convinced that Chuck designed The Trap to have Cas die 8 episodes ago. (x) That Dean was never supposed to have this post trap period with him. So that he would be hopeless just like he was in episode 19. That was in the version Chuck wrote back in episode 4. Without Cas, Chuck would have gotten his ending. (x) Woof there is a sentence that hurts in 15x20
18 - skipping this winchester main pain for the mo-
So this all got me thinking about Dean’s face after Cas says he loves him, the little choked up headshake, like maybe that’s just verbal confirmation of something he, on some level, already knew. (x)
I haven’t hit 15 in my rewatch yet and I’m sure I will find new a different things to piss me tf off when I do.
