shit if that's the case then it all makes so much sense now wow. like mitchell's vampirism being a metaphor for addiction was kind of obvious but george's lycanthropy being a metaphor for anger issues was not (not to me at least). but it makes sense.
when george "turned" nina, he basically affected her with his anger issues (hence the regret and subsequent strain in their relationship for a while). even when he gets into a relationship with sam, during the pta meeting on the full moon night, he lashes out on her (and molly, who being a child is really badly affected) and feels like a monster.
omg wow wtf this show is incredible why is it so fucking underrated?
hey sorry i just wanted to say that i love how in being human they decided to make the fact that vampires drink blood optional for the vampires instead of making it as though if they did not drink blood they would die and/or lose the eternal youth thing bc then the vampirism works well as a metaphor for addiction/being a social outcast in general/even being lgbt.
same with how lycanthropy (werewolf-ism) isnt glorified and that the werewolf "curse" is just something that happens to the werewolves once in a month and it's painful and does not enhance their abilities or anything in anyway at all.
thank you.

No matter how many times I watch this episode, THIS. MOMENT. just gets me every time. Regardless of how I feel about Henry and his "parenting" skills, this is such a good moment between these two.
Because Shawn has just been through a horrifically traumatic day. In which, among other horrors, he found out that yet another psychopathic serial killer is obsessed with him, meaning everyone he loves is once again in danger. And he has to face his childhood stalker again for the first time since she tried to murder his mother in front of him. And almost lost two people who are very important to him, knowing he'll blame himself for whatever happens to them since they were only targeted to get to him. But, in typical Shawn fashion, he's going to play it all off as no big deal. In another minute, he'll be back to cracking jokes and snarking at Lassie and pretending that he isn't going to have nightmares for the foreseeable future because of this. He's just fine(TM). Like always.
But for this one moment — when everyone is busy elsewhere and he's still reeling from the relief of everyone being okay — the mask slips and he's absolutely not fine. Cue Henry, who's been struggling this whole time between his desire to protect Shawn, and the fact that he can't offer much actual comfort because their dynamic doesn't work that way (mostly through his own fault but anyway). But here's his son, sitting alone on the dock, soaking wet, shivering, and looking absolutely wrecked. Their guards go down and Henry pulls him into a fiercely protective hug. And Shawn, who so badly needs someone to reassure him that everything is going to be okay (even though it's not, since Yin is still out there and will definitely be back for more and they both know it), just melts into that hug. He clings to his dad's reassuring presence and Henry holds onto his son like he'll disappear if he lets go. And you can see how desperately they hold onto each other for just that one brief, heartbreaking moment.
I have some issues with this episode (even though it's overall a work of art and so so beautifully made) for reasons I won't get into, but this scene gets to me every time. This scene is beautiful. Also, extra kudos to Corbin and James for absolutely nailing the emotions, and without using any dialogue to do it.

I love this line because on one hand, yes, Vi isn’t responsible for Jinx’s choices and should absolutely stop blaming herself for how she turned out. But on the other hand, this line isn’t in response to Jinx blaming Vi for what she became or something like that. It’s in response to Jinx calling out Vi for becoming an enforcer and going along with a plan to poison the air in Zaun…aka Vi’s choices.

Della duck’s arc always makes me so emotional because what do you mean this reboot about triplet ducks who go on adventures with their billionaire uncle also manages to not only tell an incredibly poignant story about loss and how it damages families but also a story about motherhood and how hard it really is, especially for a character like Della, who hasn’t even gotten to know her children for the most formative years of their lives.
How she spends 10 years, fighting so fiercely to undo what she’s done, to claw herself out from a moment of reckless abandon. She wasn’t ready to be a mother. In a way, no one really is. But she would have learned. Yet that chance was stolen from her- and she remained suspended, in a sort of limbo for those 10 years. But she holds on to this dream of motherhood, of her children, of making things right for them. That’s all that keeps her going.
And then she returns. And it’s a beautiful, wonderful moment. But it’s also not exactly as she dreamed. In front of her are her kids, yes, but they’re also fully formed individuals who she doesn’t know, with names she didn’t choose, and 10 years of growth she never got to see. She was never going to slot imperceptibly into their lives. She can’t make up for all the time she was gone, not really.
And what a tragic thought that is. Maybe it’s been too long, maybe things are too different, maybe it’s too late for her to ever really be their mother. But it isn’t. It’s not easy, though, either. Della makes mistakes, she struggles to connect with her children, hurts them, in some ways either. But she also loves them, loves them enough to grow, and change. And despite the fact that her absence for all those years can’t be erased- she grows to truly become a mother.

The best part of MAWS is that they made Clark Kent a sweetheart—he’s kind, sensitive and has all around golden retriever vibes❤️It’s been so freakin’ refreshing! He’s the heart of why this show is so well done. I will always root for emotional and sensitive portrayals of men! And I love love how the newest episode showed how aware the creators are—aware of the strength of writing Clark this way. Lois literally said that his heart is what makes him strong. If we can have a man’s super power be his loving, kind heart, then that IS the most “super”man we could ask for. And it’s why I find this version of Superman the most attractive and well done. All the love for this show!!

Ok but like
A big part of supernatural and being a hunter is having a diary right? Like obviously Johns diary is a massive part of the first couple of seasons and appears in later seasons too
But we also know other hunters have them. We see Dean finding Bobbys behind a loose tile on the fireplace in 'The End' and it comes back in season eight and eleven
As well as this the start of Johns diary (published by CW and written by Alex Irvine) opens with John saying that 'I met Fletcher Gable, who gave me this book and said: "wrote everything down"'
And according to s6ep18 'Frontierland' we know that this is a tradition going back to at least the 1800s with Samuel Colt
However, Sam and Dean never do right? We never see them writing in a journal about their cases or anything
