hello. you left a neon pink post-it with pgs 194-359 due 9/12 in the book, by the way. it is now May 23rd and the library's printer is running out of ink. it jammed and tore my passport application. one of the librarians dutifully blacked out all my information (front and back!) before proceeding to use every unmarred inch as scrap paper.
i think maybe our (plural, inclusive) lives are connected. all of them. i have been thinking a lot about borrowing. about how people move through the world in waves, filling in the same spaces. i have probably stood on the same subway platform as you. we held the same book. all of us stand in the same line at the grocery, at the gas station. how many feet have stood washing dishes in my kitchen?
i hope you are doing well. the pen you used was a nice red, maybe a glitter pen? you have loopy, curling handwriting. i sometimes wonder if it is true that you can tell a personality by the shape of our letters. i'm borrowing my brother's car. he's got scrangly engineer handwriting (you know the one). it's a yellow-orange ford mustang boss. when i got out of the building, some kids were posing with it for a selfie. i felt a little bird grow in me and had to pause and pretend to be busy with my phone to give them more time for their laughing.
i have a habit of asking people what's the last good book you read? the librarian's handwriting on the back of my smeared-and-chewed passport application says the glass house in small undercase. i usually go for fantasy/sci fi, but she was glowing when she suggested it. i found your post-it on page 26, so i really hope you didn't have to read up to 359 in that particular book. i hope you're like me and just have a weird "random piece of trash" "bookmark" that somehow makes it through like, 58 books.
i wish the concept of soul mates was bigger. i wish it was about how my soul and your soul are reading the same work. how i actually put down that book at the same time you did - page 26 was like, all exposition. i wish we were soul mates with every person on the same train. how magical to exist and borrow the same space together. i like the idea that somewhere, someone is using the shirts i donated. i like the idea that every time i see a nice view and say oh gosh look at the view, you (plural, inclusive) said that too.
the kids hollered when i beeped the car. oh dude you set off the alarm, oh shit is she - dude that's her car!! one was extremely polite. "i like your car, Miss. i'm sorry we touched it." i said i wasn't busy, finish up the pictures. i folded your post-it into a paper crane while i waited. i thought about how my brother's a kind person but his handwriting looks angry. i thought about how for an entire year i drove someone to work every day - and i didn't even think to ask for gas money. my handwriting is straight capital letters.
i thought about how i can make a paper crane because i was taught by someone who was taught by someone else.
the kids asked me to rev the engine and you know i did. the way they reacted? you would have thought i brought the sun from the sky and poured it into a waterglass. i went home smiling about it. i later gave your post it-turned-bird to a tiny child on the bus. she put it in her mouth immediately.
how easy, standing in your shadow, casting my own. how our hands pass over each other in the same minor folds. i wonder how many of the same books you and i have read. i wonder how many people have the same favorite six songs or have been in the same restaurant or have attended the same movie premier. the other day i mentioned the Book Mill from a small town in western massachusetts - a lot of people knew of it. i wonder if i've ever passed you - and didn't even notice it.
i hope whatever i leave behind makes you happy. i hope my hands only leave gentle prints. i hope you and i get the same feeling when the sun comes out. soulmates across all of it.

Tumblr media
"Baby, please," you sob, your cheek throbbing in pain.
"Don't 'baby' me, you know this is what happens when you don't do your chores." His smirk is villainous as he stands over you. "Don't be a bitch! Get up and go do what you were supposed to do," he seethes, making you flinch.
You slowly get up off the floor, brushing yourself off as you stand. You feel his eyes on you as you scramble into the kitchen.
You forgot to do the dishes again. You should've known better than to forget; you know he gets like this every time. You don't necessarily blame him, though. He does so much for you, and you can't even remember to do a simple household chore.
You scrub the plates clean, the hot water burning against your skin. His footsteps echo into the room, coming closer to you.
His hands wrap gently around your waist, holding you close. "You know I don't like to hit you, baby. Why can't you just listen?"
"I'm sorry. I'll be better for you," you tell him as you lean back into his touch.
"I know you will be."
~ ~ ~
"One medium Iced Americano!"
You stand from your seat in the coffee shop, making your way towards the counter to grab your drink.
The cafe is crowded, the queue at least 10 deep. You squeeze past people, muttering the occasional "Excuse me" as you pass.
You're disappointed when you get to the counter, seeing your drink nowhere to be found.
"Excuse me," you call out to the barista behind the counter, "What happened to my drink? The Iced Americano?"
"Oh, some guy just took it. It was yours?" she asks distractedly, another cup already in her hand as she pours coffee into it.
"Yea..." you trail off, your eyes scanning the shop for the drink-stealer.
"I'm sorry about that, I'll whip you up another one. What size would you like?"
"Medium, please." The barista nods her head and gets to work. "Thank you so much."
You sit down at a table near the counter to wait. Your mind starts to wander, thinking about all the work you have to catch up on this week. You're an editor for the local newspaper, and your boss decided to dump a bunch of stories on you last minute. While they weren't set to be published for another few weeks, you were incredibly meticulous with your work, so it usually took you longer than necessary to get through them.
You're brought of your thoughts by a boy walking up to your table. "I'm sorry, but I think I accidentally took your drink. My friend ordered a large iced Americano, and I think this is the medium." His cute face is twisted in an apologetic expression.
"That's ok, she's making me a new one. No worries," you reassure him, giving him a soft smile.
"Oh good, sorry again." You expect to him to walk off, your original drink in his hand, but he continues to stand in front of you, his eyes never leaving yours. It's a little uncomfortable, and you're about to get up to avoid the awkward tension when he speaks again.
"Mind if I sit? You look like you could use some company."
You hesitate to answer. If your boyfriend found out you let some random man sit with you, he'd freak out.
"I was actually just about to head out. I have to get back to my boyfriend," you answer, deciding that rejecting his offer was for the best.
"Here you go miss, one medium Iced Americano," says the barista. Her arm is stretched over the counter, your drink in hand.
"Thank you so much," you immediately stand, stepping around the man to grab it.
As you go to step away, the man stops you, "My name's Felix by the way. I've seen you around here before." His eyes twinkle from the dingey lights overhead.
"I'm Y/N," your lips morph into a smile at his kindness.
"I'll see ya around?" there's a questioning twinge to his voice, a hint of hope peaking through.
"Sure. See ya around, Felix." With that, you walk towards the exit, heading back home.
~ ~ ~
"What took you so long?" your boyfriend's voice booms through the house as soon as you open the door.
"Someone else took my drink, so I had to wait for them to make me another," you explain, hopeful that you're calm energy will have the same affect on your boyfriend.
"You think that's a good enough excuse?! For all I know you could've been cheating on me! What am I supposed to think when you're gone for so long?!" he yells, his heavy footsteps approach you quickly from the living room.
"Babe, I promise it was nothing like that," you panic, your eyes darting around the foyer for an escape.
"Next time," he's in front of you now, his face red in anger, "tell me if you'll be longer." His rough hand reaches towards your face, roughly grabbing your jaw between his fingers. You wince, sure it'll leave yet another bruise. "Got it?"
"Yes," you mumble, your jaw stinging from his tight grasp.
"Good." He releases your face and wipes his hands on his pants, like he's disgusted by you.
You hurry off to your bedroom, quietly closing the door behind you.
~ ~ ~
It's been a couple weeks since you've been able to stop by the cafe. Your boyfriend's been stricter since the last coffee incident, not letting you leave the house without him.
"Hi Y/N!" your eyes glance above your computer screen, meeting the happy face of the man you met the last time you came here. What was his name again?
"Hi..." you say, hoping he'll fill in the blank.
"Felix!"
"Oh yea," you chuckle, embarrassed by your forgetfulness, "Sorry, it slipped my mind."
"That's ok!" You're heart warms, his bright and happy personality filling the emptiness of the coffee shop. "May I sit?" He gestures to the chair across from you.
You think on it for a moment. You really need to finish this article, but you guess a little break won't hurt. "Sure."
You didn't know it was possible, but his smile turns brighter at your answer. "Thanks!" He pulls the chair out and sits. It's silent between you for a minute, and you go back to typing away on your computer. "What are you working on?"
"I'm an editor for the newspaper, so I'm just finishing up this story," you reply.
"Oooh, that's cool? Do you like being an editor?"
You and Felix hit it off right away. He asks you more about your job, and you love the way he genuinely seems interested in what you have to say.
You ask him a few questions about himself, too, and you find out he's in a band with his friends.
"That's so cool!" You've finished you're article by this point, and you're nearing the end of your coffee, as well.
His eyes light up as he talks about his friends. They sound like an interesting bunch from all the stories he tells you.
"And then," he stops, letting out an adorable giggle, "he fell right on his ass, in front of everyone!" He laughs again and you join in. Something about Felix's aura just makes you feel so comfortable around him, like you've known him forever.
You both quiet down, and you become a little uncomfortable under his intense gaze. His eyes focus on your chin.
"What happened to your chin?" It's obvious he doesn't mean any harm with his question, pure curiosity taking over his features. However, the attention to your bruises makes you severely uncomfortable, and you instinctually look to flee.
"Oh, it was nothing," you think for a second, trying to come up with an excuse, "I'm just clumsy and hit my chin on my nightstand. No biggie," you tell him distractedly as you hurry to pack up your things.
His eyes widen at your panicked movements. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry," he apologizes, standing up as well.
"It's ok, I actually had to go anyway," you lie, swinging your bag over your shoulder. "I'll see you around." You quickly make your way out of the cafe, not even giving him a chance to say goodbye. He stands there with a slight tilt to his head, watching you rush out of the shop.
~ ~ ~
Weeks go by before Felix has the chance to talk to you again. He waits for you on your usual days at the cafe, hoping to see your familiar figure walk through the door, but you never do.
His eyes light up one particular Monday morning as you walk through the door, the little bell dinging, alerting the employees someone came in.
His smile falters a little upon seeing the man holding your hand. You're expression is stiffer than normal, your lips pursed in a tight line, replacing the bright smile you usually wear.
Felix watches as the man orders for both of you. "One medium iced Americano and a small Hazelnut latte," he says.
The man looks nothing like he thought your boyfriend would look. His eyes are cold and emotionless, practically burning holes in the side of the barista's face. Felix doesn't miss the way he rudely tosses the money onto the counter, not even gracious enough to hand it to the cashier.
Felix's gaze shifts down to your hands, your boyfriend's grip looking unnecessarily tight around your small hand. He notices the way your fingers are white from lack of circulation, and his blood boils.
Felix manages to catch your wandering gaze, your cheeks heated in embarrassment from the way your boyfriend was treating the staff.
He gives you a small wave, the corners of his lips upturned.
Your eyes widen at his show of friendliness, and you give him the smallest of head shakes. Your expression conveys, "Please don't say anything to me", and his heart clenches at this. Who does this guy think he is?
As much as Felix wants to go up to you and rip his hand from yours, it's clear you don't want him to acknowledge you right now. He knows it is because of the man next to you, and he begins to wonder if those bruises he saw on your chin weeks before weren't from your clumsiness after all.
~ ~ ~
"You never order anything when you're here. Why is that?"
It's a nice, sunny Monday morning, and you and Felix sit in the corner of the cafe.
"I don't actually like coffee much," he chuckles, his face flushing in embarrassment. You raise your eyebrows at that, waiting for him to continue. "I just like the atmosphere here, and now I come for you, too!"
Now it's your turn to blush, a pink shade creeping up your neck. "For me?"
"Yea, I figured we're friends now, and I like to spend time with you." his voice is deep and charming as he speaks, his eyes soft.
Friends aren't something that have come easy to you. Your boyfriend rarely lets you go places by yourself. Work is the main exception, and after some begging a few months prior, he allows you to come to the coffee shop by yourself, too.
Being friends with Felix sounds nice. It's been months since you first met, and most weeks you both sit at the same table, you working on your articles and him doing various other activities. Sometimes he'll bring a book to read, other times he'll just play on his phone until you're finished working.
The silence sits between the two of you as you think, and Felix worries he's made you uncomfortable. "I mean- we don't have to be, like friends, or anything. I just thought-"
You cut off his rambling, a smile gracing your lips, "I'd love to be friends with you Felix."
His shoulders slump in relief, and he gives you a relaxed smile. "Oh good, I was worried I'd scared you off."
"You're practically the nicest person I've ever met. How could you possible scare me off?" you laugh.
"I know I can come off a little strong sometimes, but I'm just a friendly guy, and I like your company," he explains to you, and you can't help but agree with everything he says.
That first day he talked to you he did seem a little overzealous. Now, after hanging out with him numerous times, you know that's just him, and you're ok with that. You love how Felix is able to bring a little sunshine into your life, even if it's only for a few hours every week.
"Well, don't worry about it. I wanna be your friend, too, and I like hanging out with you just as much," you assure him.
"Perfect! As my first duty of being your official friend, I have to ask you to stop lying to me," his voice goes serious, the light in his eyes dimming.
Your breath falters a little at this. "What do you mean?" you try to play it off, taking a swift drink of your coffee. You know he's not stupid; anyone with eyes can see the various bumps and bruises that litter your body.
"All these bruises... nobody's that clumsy, Y/N."
The familiar urge to escape fills your body, and panic bubbles in your throat.
"Felix," you choke out, your gaze lingering on your hands nervously rubbing against your pants. Tears gather in your eyes.
No one has ever confronted you about this. You pushed your family away long ago; it was upon your boyfriend's request, but who were you to tell him no? You've not been close with someone since then. You had friends before, but after so many unanswered texts, they just stopped texting. Stopped calling. Now their contacts sit in your phone as constant reminders of what used to be.
Felix's heart softens as your eyes well with tears, but he stands his ground. If he was going to be your friend, he couldn't let this slide any longer. "No more lies."
"Felix, I can't," the anxiety becomes too much, and you're quick to run out of the cafe, leaving your bag and coffee sitting on the table.
Felix quickly gathers your things and follows you out, earning a few curious glances from the people standing in line.
His eyes find your form, speed-walking down the sidewalk in the normal direction you leave in. "Y/N, please wait!" he calls after you, jogging to catch up.
He only has to run for a few seconds, catching up to you quickly. He reaches out to grab your elbow, and he immediately recoils upon seeing the way you flinch at his touch.
You stop walking, knowing there's no point in running anymore. Your head hangs low, your gaze permanently set on the ground in front of you. You allow Felix to guide you towards a secluded bench, sitting on the side of one of the buildings.
Felix's body immediately kicks into comfort mode upon seeing the tears flowing down your face. He softly sets his arm around your shoulders. You don't flinch, so he takes that as his sign to wrap you up into a hug, pulling you further into his body.
You continue to cry into his shoulder, not sure how else to deal with the emotions that overwhelm you.
"Y/N," he whispers as he rubs your back, "Can you look at me for a second?"
You raise your head from his shoulder, your eyes glossy with unshed tears.
"Please let me help you," he begs, his arms firm around your body.
"Felix, I can't," your sobs return, your arms leaving Felix to cover your face.
"Y/N, you've let him control you long enough."
Your lips wobble, and you don't know what to say. You've dated your boyfriend for years; he's all you know, all you have.
You've listened to his verbal abuse for so long, his words constantly swimming in your head:
"No one else will love you like I do."
"Nobody cares about you."
"Your family and friends left you, but not me. You can trust me."
His physical abuse marks your body. Old scars litter your arms and legs, bruises coloring your jaw and neck. You're always aching, different parts of your body always healing. You know your body needs a break.
"I know you probably feel stuck, like you have no one to go to," Felix continues, hoping that there's room in your cluttered mind for his words to get through to you, "But I'm here now. I'll help you. I won't let him touch you anymore."
Your mind is full of every emotion imaginable.
You know you can trust Felix. The problem isn't whether or not you can trust Felix. After all these months, he's proven to be one of the greatest people you've ever met. He's kind, loving, caring; everything you're boyfriend is not.
No, the problem isn't whether you can trust Felix; he's one of the most trustworthy people you've ever met. You just don't know how.
"Please, Y/N, I can't sit by and continue to watch you walk into the cafe with new bruises every week. I'll help you get out of this mess; you don't have to stay with him anymore."
Felix's pleas swirl around in your mind. The kindness he emits mixes with the words of your boyfriend like oil and water. If Felix was ice, your boyfriend would be fire; the two polar opposites in every way.
"That boyfriend of yours is no good for you," you remember your mom telling you. It was one of the last conversations you had with her before he made you cut all contact with her.
Maybe she was right. Maybe it is time for a change. Felix has always made you feel safe, like you could tell him anything. He could help you.
"It's your call, don't let him think he has power of you. All you have to do is tell me, and it'll be taken care of. I'll take care of you, Y/N."
You sit in silence for a few moments, nothing but the sounds of your sniffles filling the air.
The cold wind whips past your clouded head, bringing you back to reality. You finally gain the courage to look up at him, and his eyes have never looked softer.
"Please help me, Felix," you sob, your hands going to grip his hoodie as you lay your head against his chest. Your ear presses against his heart, the gentle beat soothing you better than words ever could.
"Oh, sweet girl," he whispers, running his hand through your hair. He's holding you so tight now, like he never wants to let you go. "You'll never have to see him again. I've got you now, nobody will hurt you anymore."

hi pretty baby!! I have a very important question for you:
the year is coming to a close and it has brought us many great things (like your sweet sweet stories) and I'm simply dying to know.... if you were to do a 12 fics for 12 months sort of wrap up of your own blog, what would be your 12 most memorable fics of the year? which of your pieces really stood out to you? I'm eager to hear what my friends' proudest works are!
xx
i'm a pretty baby? my stories are sweet? ( /)///(\✿) AHHHHHHHH!
Tumblr media
and that's such a fun thing to do as a way of rounding off the year omg! this requires some thought though, so i hope you don't mind if i take a while to answer
these fics aren't in any particular order but would say that the following are my 12 most memorable fics this year... (i will also include fics from my side blogs as those are my works too hehe~)
DIVORCING ORION BLACK CHAPTER 5
this was the fic that i first posted when i came back from my hiatus so it holds a special place in my heart~
DIVORCING ORION BLACK CHAPTER 6
DIVORCING ORION BLACK CHAPTER 7
i'm including all updates for the DOB series because i honestly think it's my magnum opus and i managed to stay consistent with updates until the end of the year ever since coming back from my hiatus
JAMES POTTER | HOW TO DRESS (nsfw)
this is from my nsfw side blog ; it took me an entire year to write this oneshot for james and it's 16k words long, which makes it the longest fic i have ever written AND it's the first ever NSFW oneshot I've ever written and posted haha! so it represents a big milestone for me
SIRIUS BLACK | BIKER BOY
this was dedicated to one of my dearest moots and close friends here @somewereinthegalaxi / @thebestofoneshots and was a fun little way of showcasing an interest we both share motorbikes, biker boy boyfriends and sirius black (づ> v <)づ♡
REGULUS BACK | HOLD HER PART 2
i've always loved the trope of characters being given insight into their futures somewhat, in fact, a niche of fanfiction i adore reading is based on that e.g marauders watching/reading the harry potter movies/books or harry traveling back in time and interacting with the marauders -- this is my little way of finally dabbling in the trope without writing another fix-it fic atop DOB (ᵕ—ᴗ—)
REMUS LUPIN | ONE NEGRONI
this combined a guilty pleasure of mine, mob boss aus and the marauders, mainly featuring our beloved Remus Lupin -- it just seemed natural making him the mob boss  (˵ ¬ᴗ¬˵) hehe~
JAMES POTTER | GENUINE
i literally couldn't sleep until i wrote this and i'm so happy i did too because you darlings seemed to really enjoy it too! now i have a deep love for the actor james x singer reader trope (๑>◡<๑)
JAMES POTTER | LIKE LOVERS DO
this was sooo self-indulgent ( /)///(\✿) it's a manifestation of my love for james potter and the friends to lovers trope -- this fic is secretly how i want to my relationship with james to blossom in another universe where he's no longer fictional and i have a chance at making him mine!
JAMES POTTER | BOUDOIR PHOTOSHOOT
i've been seeing tiktoks of this on my fyp for a long time and i kept thinking of james every time i saw it, my real life responsibilities kept getting in the way of me writing it until i finally committed writing it even if it meant sleeping super late again (๑˃́ꇴ˂̀๑)
GROUP EFFORT SERIES
this imagines series is from my mcu + misc. side blog and i predict having a lot of fun with it in the future ; i'm writing it from a random thought i had during my hiatus when i got into the mcu fandom, it went along the lines of: i wonder how the avengers would handle babysitting a baby like Jack-Jack from the Incredibles -- i slapped my love for single mother reader tropes on it and this imagines series was made!
THE PRINCESS' SEVEN MERCENARIES
after getting into the mcu fandom during my hiatus, i also fell in love with many of Chris Evans' characters and started reading fics about them too, combine that with my love for fairy tale aus, drawing inspiration from a writer with a phenomenal nsfw fairy tale series and you get this snow white au series with seven of my favourite Chris Evans characters (。>\\<)♡
damn... look at this list makes me realise how much i've written this year despite my hiatus -- i need to give myself more credit since half the time i feel like i'm not writing enough omg! thank you so much for prompting me to do this, my love!

"Ingo and Emmet talk after he explains where he was for the last few years"
Hello again! This is a small one shot that I wrote a long time ago and only now edited and cleaned it up so I could post it 😅
The bootleg merch mention comes from a convo that happened at @evtraininguniversity 's tumblr, here's a part of it but there was a lot more talked about at the time!!! Also go read Ev's stuff if you haven't already, she's great!!!
Either way, enjoy!!!
“Ok. Let me see if I got it. You still don’t know exactly how, but you were thrown in the past.”
“Correct.”
“Of another region entirely.”
“Right again.”
“Somehow you lost your memories in the way there.”
“Hm hm.”
“So you lived there, until a random kid brought Arceus to you and he gave you your memory back.”
“Yup.”
“And then, with your memory back, you asked to be sent back here after saying your goodbyes.”
“You are a very good listener, Emmet.”
“Shut the fuck up, this is the most bizarre thing you’ve ever told me and yet I have no better explanation. I could say that the old timey clothes you got in a museum or from reenactors, the destruction to your uniform from living in the wild for years, but how the fuck else would you get those extinct pokémon?”
“Guess you’ll have to believe me, then, asshole.”
“I didn’t say I didn’t want to, but you are talking about fucking Arceus, over here.”
“I guess that is fair, I had the same reaction before seeing the supposed creator with my own eyes.”
“Calling him “supposed” wouldn’t be heresy, then?”
“I fought him and won, I don’t care.”
“You fought him without me?!”
“I knew you would say that, so technically they owe me for the mess they put me through, I didn’t want to go to Hisui but apparently I had to, because technically that had already happened? Something about time paradoxes. Regardless, their influence made sure that no one connected my image in the history books with Subway Boss Ingo, so no one would alert you or try to get me back before I was supposed to return. I didn’t choose any of that, though, so after winning I got them to agree to fight you too, next time we played the Azure Flute in Spear Pillar.”
Emmet punched the air in excitement. He had the look he always did when going through strategies on his head, until a thought made him get back on track.
“Right, so, assuming you really did spend these last three years in ancient Sinnoh,” Ingo huffs in amusement at his brother persistent disbelief, “does that mean you know why they don’t have a rail system?”
That grabs his attention and suddenly he is furious.
“Professor Laventon kept making incredible remarks about trains and how helpful they are, I added my own agreement and yet! The construction corps were so prideful! They didn’t want to look into the system to see if they could adopt it as well! They kept saying that those “metal beasts” could not be safe!” His hands in constant movement, following his rage. “And now, the kid that helped me, told me that they have been starting construction in Jubilife City and that Sinnoh now regrets how long it took to adopt the rail system!”
“Oh, I did hear news of that a few years ago, I had bigger worries then.”
That gave Ingo’s rage pause.
“I’m sorry, Emmet, I wish-“
“Nope! Can’t change the past, it is what it is, do not go down those tracks.”
“Did your therapist tell you that?”
“More like he drilled it into my head.”
“I’m happy to hear it.”
“We can talk about me later. Don’t give me that look, I know I can’t avoid your older brother tendencies forever. But, that is why you want to go back there, then? You want to supervise the construction?”
“I don’t want to go back exactly, I want to give them our expertise on the subject, we might not have started the subway and train systems in Unova but we did expand on it. I also can not say I told you so to Kamado, so I want to do that to the closest descendent of his that I can find.”
“You are such a petty bitch sometimes.”
“Go fuck yourself, Emmet.”
Despite the jabs, that were all friendly at the end of the day, Ingo loved listening to his brother snickering laugh. Oh, how he missed his favorite problem while walking through the vast expanse of Hisui.
"Oh, and before I forget, I did get something in Hisui that reminded me of you." He leaned over the arm of the couch to reach the basket he had brought with him. "Emmet, I want you to meet Impostermet. I hope you two will play nicely."
Emmet left a bark of a laugh, he couldn't believe that, depite being stuck in the past, his brother was still able to find their bootleg merch.
"Impostergo is a part of a set now! I can not believe you, Ingo!"
"Since we're already on the subject, you didn't burn The Blanket, did you?"
"I think Crustle found it in a day he was very mad and it became rags, sadly, you can find my teeth around the house, I use it to clean."
"That's a terrifying sentence Emmet."
"You have no one to blame but yourself. I never told you to buy that fucking monstrosity in the first place."
"Oh, how terrible my brother is, I buy a gift of his likeness to bestow upon him and that's how he thanks me."
"If I wasn't so happy to have you back I would fucking kill you right now."
"As if you ever could, I'm the bigger twin after all."
"We're identical, you fuck!"
And that's how they ended up wrestling on the floor of their living room, Ingo having his brother in a headlock while Emmet kicked and refused to surrender. Eelektross glared at his trainer and his brother's antics, before giving a slight shock to the pile of squirming limbs, making them release each other with pained yelps.
"Eelektross is right, we have far more important things to do."
"Eelektross is always right! He is the best boy! We need to go to a police station and then do a looooot of paperwork to prove you're alive and to get you your job back."
"Maybe I should have stayed in Hisui."
"Oh no, you're not running away from the paperwork!"
"I think I can hear Sneasler calling me, Emmet, I have to go."
"Come back here, Ingo!"
"Well, who arrives first at the station is free from paperwork!"
"You're already at the door, that's not fair! Ingo! Ingo, stop!"
The twins should be thankful that their pokemon were as intelligent as they were, Chandelure stopped the siblings using psychic, while bringing them back to get their pokeballs and properly lock the door, before they actually teared down the streets, throwing quips at each other and laughing until they were red in the face. They tied at the end, as Emmet saw Ingo was about to win, and decided to tackle his brother inside the station, making them end up crossing the threshold at the same time. Ingo could only wheeze as his brother fell on top of him and crushed all of his precious organs, only moving when the depot agents came over, helping them stand up and properly welcoming back the siblings to their home, finally together once more.

Concertina
Writing this story was very therapeutic for me. I hope someone else, cardiophile or otherwise, can get some comfort and reassurance out of it, too.
"I'm not policing what you think and dream," was the lyric I fixated on, though it was only the first verse of the song.  Every explanation of the song "Concertina" I'd read contradicted my own interpretation.  Wasn't it mostly a song about feeling bold enough to be strange, even if it was frightening?  There was applause in the bar when I finished, and made me feel like the risk of a new track selection had paid off.  Tori clapped with the most vigor, as she usually does.
"Girl, who sang that one?" she asked, noting that it was different from my usual selections like Stevie Nicks and Pat Benetar.  I stared at her drink, something with pineapple and gin if I recalled, with this hypnotic red-orange-yellow ombre effect.  Without taking my eyes off of it, I said, "It was a Tori Amos song.  Not a big hit or anything though.  You share a name," I said, lightly touching her shoulder, "You should sing something of hers one night."
"Not if the DJ has anything Taylor," she laughed.  It was fair.  Tori loved to sing Taylor Swift at karaoke, just like how she loved to talk about Gaylor theories, analyze her lyrics, speculate about what her various IG and Tumblr posts might foretell, and scour Stubhub and every other possible site for the least-bankrupting concert tickets.  I was just along for the ride, though I had a couple of her albums at home myself.
"Ok, do something from Lover," I suggested.
"I don't know.  What if all they have is "YNTCD?" she whined, abbreviating Taylor's divisive LGBTQ anthem from 2019, one that I happened to enjoy despite any criticism.
"I know you like it, and maybe I'm being a terrible Swiftie, but isn't she just trying to hijack our trauma and claim it as hers?  *Unless* she is gay but didn't want to say so explicitly in the song.  It's great that she gave so many queer people screen time.  I didn't even know who Billy Porter was until I saw the video.  But then again, why did she make it about resolving her beef with Katy Perry?  That was so random.  Anyway, I'll see what I can do...for you, Elena."  She ran her hand down my arm and then squeezed my hand for a second.  She's drunk, I thought, but I appreciated the affection.  Her hand was soft and it felt right--sensual without the suggestion of something more.  I wouldn't want anything more.
Well, that wasn't entirely true.  I had come to feel at home with Tori over the past year--my first close friend since college who also happened to be queer.  I had lingered longer when hugging her, and since she knew I was asexual, I didn't think she ever took anything the "wrong" way.  At home I had a bright magenta stethoscope that sat on my nightstand, waiting.  But since I'd never told Tori that 1) I loved heart sounds, 2) loved using stethoscopes, and 3) wanted to use one with her, my stethoscope could have been waiting for Godot.  I had strongly considered putting her (the stethoscope--named Alex for my love of Wizards of Waverly Place) in the living room so that Tori could just happen to notice her while we were watching a movie.  But I played the conversation out in my head and felt mortified with every possible script I wrote.  Still, whenever I pictured her wearing the binaurals and listening to my heart, I felt like skipping through a field of daisies.  It just seemed like I was struggling with level one of a video game while ravenously reading walkthroughs of the battle with the final boss I might never meet.  Not that it was a game to me--my love of heart sounds was and always had been one of the most important things in my life.  It kept me sane and grounded, and most of all, it was how I felt close to someone I cared about.
I felt a bit of envy as I watched her throw her arm around the DJ, whose adorable curly head of hair and petite stature brought to mind Jorgeous from one of my favorite shows--Rupaul's Drag Race.  But I wasn't jealous that Not-Jorgeous was enjoying Tori's affection; I wished I could have that sort of magnetism that drew everyone to me and put them immediately at ease.  Trauma had prevented me from being so gregarious.  I watched as four more karaoke singers ran up to Tori, happy to see a familiar face (she was there every week) and get their expected hug.  No, I didn't necessarily want that much attention, I realized--I only wanted the confidence and grace to be completely open with her.
When I heard the first few sharp, synth-laden notes, I knew exactly what song it was.  Tori was deadly serious in her delivery and everyone in the bar turned to gaze at this tall, striking woman who would almost look imposing if her face weren't so soft and kind.  "Combat, I'm ready for combat," she sang, and I was shocked that the DJ would have this track from Taylor's Lover album that we could agree on.  In a moment of accountability that Taylor-haters never acknowledge, the singer tells us she's been "the archer" and "the prey," and feared her propensity for causing hurt as well as her own crippling wounds might make her difficult to live with.  As Tori deftly crescendoed her way into the bridge (I had been given numerous lectures on her distinctive bridges), I felt like my heart beat louder as well.  Suddenly embarrassed, I turned away and stepped onto the bar's patio, my long wrap skirt catching a doorknob in my haste.  I pulled it out and turned to look at the wisteria still bright near sundown and the brick water feature with the goldfish.  There was a couple in the corner deep in conversation, voices so hushed I couldn't make out a single word. That was my last drink, I thought, staring at the crescent moon and the smattering of stars I could see in spite of light pollution.  I felt too much; why didn't alcohol make me numb like it did everyone else?
"Hey, did you like it?" I heard her say behind me.  I turned and saw the sheepish grin on her face.
"Oh, it was beautiful!" I exclaimed.  "I was just out here getting some air is all."
"I was thinking about what you said last week."  She came closer and put her arms around me as she said it.  My head landed near her chest, and I could almost hear something if it weren't for her thick jacket.  I let myself fall into her embrace.  "I think it would be exciting, actually.  I want to do it.  I've never done that with anyone before," she continued.
I racked my brain and tried to remember what she could be talking about, slowly recalling that I'd had 3 cocktails and 2 shots last week.  There were a few portions of my last karaoke night that I didn't recall at all.  "Wait, what are you talking about?"
She looked at me, her eyes crinkled a little.  Gently, she pushed my hair out of my face.  "You're such a silly drunk and you don't remember any of it," she said, shaking her head.  "You surprised the hell out of me by talking about having a stethoscope and wanting to listen to my heartbeat.  And that you wanted me to listen to your heartbeat.  And I was speechless because that seemed like such a weird, random thing to say.  But then I thought about it and I'm really curious now.  None of my girlfriends ever wanted to do something like that.  Not that you're my girlfriend, but a friend who happens to be a girl, anyway.  I'm down."
I breathed in sharply.  How could I have said all of that without realizing what I was divulging?  My heart was really pounding then, and as if she read my mind, she placed her hand on my chest.  "Oh!" she squeaked, surprised.  "Am I embarrassing you?  Please don't feel that way!  I guess I should've thought you might've forgotten, like that time you went on for like 10 minutes about whether Drag Race All Stars is rigged like you were the only person in the room and had zero recollection of it the next day."  Without really thinking, I quickly placed my hand over hers, holding it fast to my chest.  Her hand so near my heart felt just right somehow.  I closed my eyes and only opened them when she pulled away to check her phone.
"Our Uber is on its way.  I told them to go to your apartment.  Is that ok?  Mine is a mess and Savannah has her boyfriend over, anyway.  He always brings that cheap, stinky weed.  Plus, we could watch more Babylon 5.  I want to see if the praying mantis thing is a 'legitimate businessman' ha."
The N'Grath reference made me smile.  "That sounds great," I almost slur, grinning like an idiot.
Mollie, my dachshund, is almost wider than she is long, so it's a struggle for her to make it up to the couch to properly greet Tori when she comes over.  This night was no different.  "She doesn't even eat that much," I said for probably the twentieth time.  "It's like she just has the worst possible metabolism, poor babe."  I stroked under her chin.
The DVD was loaded, and with the confidence that only alcohol could summon in me, I'd stealthily transferred Alex from my bedroom to the coffee table in the living room while Tori was in the bathroom.  When she emerged, she smiled all big and plopped back down on the couch.  My voice boomed in my head when I picked up the stethoscope and said, "This is Alex.  She was named for Alex Russo, you know, when I was younger.  Well, not that much younger.  But still.  Yes, I know it was a kids' show," I say shyly, wondering why I can't shut up.
Tori laughed and picked her up, turning the chestpiece around over and over again to switch from diaphragm to bell, hearing that satisfying click each time.  "She doubles as a fidget toy, I see," she said.  "Oh what's that?" I had to follow her gaze because I was staring at her chest (not her breasts--give me some credit) rising and falling and could barely think of anything else.  She picked up a pill bottle from the coffee table, one that I usually put away when someone is over out of an overabundance of caution. But I hadn't realized we were both coming back here tonight.  "Spiro?" she asked.  "I used to take that, like in my 20s when my acne was a lot worse.  What do you take it for?" she asked innocently.
I looked up at her, struck dumb and wordless.  We both stared in silence for a few seconds too long, and that was when it dawned on me.  Elena, she doesn't know, you moron.  You're about to ask her to do something intimate and she doesn't know.  Does it matter?  Maybe, maybe not.  I sighed.  This was not the way I wanted her to find out.  What if she changed her mind, decided I'm not one of her girl friends after all?  What if she declared this some kind of "trick"?  What if she got mad, felt betrayed, and blabbed all over social media?  What if it got out at work?  This wasn't something to play with, I realized, and it made me feel like I was suffocating suddenly, imagining all the worst case scenarios. They flicked through my brain rapidly, like someone pressing the lever on one of those retro viewfinders at lightning speed, taking in all of the little thumbnails in a blur.  I gasped and then deliberately began to breathe in and out very slowly and evenly.  I grabbed the arm of the couch as if I was falling.
"Oh my god, I am so sorry.  You don't have to answer that.  It's none of my business," she insisted apologetically.  I could tell she was uncomfortable.  I had made her uncomfortable.  But it didn't feel like there was any escaping it now.  The mood had changed dramatically, all thanks to my reaction to her question, and as much as I yearned for her to listen to my heart and had pictured it many times in the last few months, it was pounding because I was terrified.  She put Alex down on the couch, where Mollie reached over to lick her eartips, and took my hand.  "What's wrong?" she whispered.
I looked up at her and it felt like someone else's voice when I choked out, "I'm trans."  Her brow furrowed.  When she didn't respond right away, I added, in a whispered rush, "I grew up a boy.  I mean I'm not one.  I never was.  I thought you knew.  That's what the prescription is for."  I exhaled loudly, then realized I'd been staring at the floor and not facing Tori.  She let my hand go, almost in slow-motion, and she looked at my body as though she was seeing it for the first time.  Oh god, I winced.  Please don't look for masculine things.
"I'm such an idiot," she finally said, almost inaudibly.  I stared in horror as she said,  "Why didn't I know?!?"
I felt my mouth go dry.  My voice was hoarse.  "It's not like I wanted everyone to know," I said.  "It's not like I want to lose my job."
"Oh, Elena!" she exclaimed.  "You weren't thinking it would make a difference, were you?"  When I didn't respond, she wrapped her arms tightly around me, and tears flooded my vision.  "You're one of my best friends.  You're my only friend who will go with me to karaoke, for one," she laughed.  "You're the only person besides my mom who listened to me carry on about my undying devotion to Amari, even after the third time she fucking cheated.  Not my finest moment, but that woman had a hold on me."  I inadvertently let out a snort, remembering her beautiful but treacherous ex.
She kept one arm around me and reached again for Alex.  "She's probably got Mollie slobber on her now," I pointed out.
"Ha, I'm not worried about it," Tori said.  I watched her insert the ear tips, thinking she had a 50/50 chance of putting them in correctly, and she managed it.  There was something transformative about her wearing the binaurals, and it dried my tears to see it.  She was only about ten years my senior, but in that moment I felt like the child I was always meant to be--one who was free to play how I wanted, with whatever toys I wanted, and just be who I was without being called names I didn't even understand.  She was the older, wiser one who could really see me.  I was safe.  She unfastened just the top button of my shirt and I looked at her face as I could feel the coolness of the metal circle on my skin.
A minute passed, then another, and they were brief but filled with knowing that she could hear me so well.  "That's so cool," she said softly.  "It was fast at first and now it's slow and steady.  I kind of feel like...I know you in a new way," she smiled and looked at my face before looking back down at the instrument.  I felt so happy I thought I could cry again.  She moved the chestpiece around--left and right and center, then between my breasts.  "It sounds different in different areas," she observed.  "Like, the first sound is louder in some places and the second is louder in others."
"You're listening near a different valve each time," I whispered, thrilled that she heard those nuances that most ordinary people don't seem attuned to.  She nodded, the look on her face one of wonder.  I breathed along with her for another few minutes while she listened, and it felt like the sort of connection I only dreamed of feeling, knowing that most people don't "get" this.  I felt almost reborn, and completely satiated.
When it was my turn to listen, I tried to push past my reservations and self-doubt.  "Is it ok if I put this under your shirt?" I asked tentatively, pointing while holding the chestpiece.
"Girl, yes!" she practically sputtered.  "After all the poking around I just did?  It's only fair," she laughed.
Mollie jumped up to grab and lick my hand as I moved to place the stethoscope on Tori's chest, and we both had to stop what we were doing to laugh.  When I slipped it underneath her blouse, the sound was clear and strong.  She watched my eyes as I breathed in several systoles and diastoles and it made her smile.  First, I listened for the semilunar valves--aortic and pulmonic, then, gaining confidence in what could have been an uncomfortable endeavor, moved downward to listen properly at the atrioventricular valves--tricuspid and mitral.  Tori leaned forward so I could easily access these different auscultation points.  I stayed at each one for awhile, trying to commit this sound to memory in case we never did this again.  When I was finished, she said, "Wow, that was kind of a vulnerable feeling but not in a bad way."
"You sounded so, so beautiful," I told her softly, and was pleased when that display of raw emotions didn't elicit a raised eyebrow.  This wasn't a night I'd forget anytime soon.

Heyy first of i want to say that i really enjoy your writting! I think its incredible! I wanted to ask if you can write a minho x reader with she/her pronouns where the reader and minho meet outside of the glade? like in the scorch trials and when they arrive in save haven they slowly fall for each other? I hope this isnt too complicated 😅
(sorry english Isnt my first language 😬)
I'm loving all the post-tmr requests atm, it lets me add some variation to my writing :))
Though I'm slowing down on the longer pieces because they take so damn long, so this might not be as descriptive- sorry if it's not quite what you wanted.
This took longer than I thought it would to get out because I couldn't settle on a plot, but I think I got there eventually.
IT TAKES TIME

MASTERLIST | MINHO MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: See above. Right Arm Member!Fem!Reader x Minho. Movie based fic for simplicity.
You've been a member of the Right Arm for a while, and things are finally starting to wind down in preparation for moving to the Safe Haven. Which is where you meet Minho. After things go wrong, you focus on helping those remaining, only to be surprisingly reunited with the boy you only met once- but haven't stopped thinking about.
WARNINGS: Inappropriate language, some violence.
Tumblr media
Somehow, you've survived this long.
Despite the odds, you're still here. You never thought it would happen, but now you're surrounded by like-minded people, and the end is in sight.
You're sat with Vince and Dr Mary Cooper, along with some random teenagers you rescued from WCKD's Mazes. You know, the usual. The three of you come from very different walks of life.
Mary is an ex-WCKD scientist who used to actually experiment on the kids you've spent the last few months trying to save. You were a Scorch-bound thief who tried to swipe Right Arm gear and got swept into the mayhem. Vince is kind of a mystery- he doesn't really like talking about his life.
When he caught you, you managed to prove yourself useful, and you quickly joined the ranks of the higher end of the Right Arm- despite being considerably younger.
You shuffle on the box you've decided to turn into a seat, looking over Vince's messy plans. It's basically a foreign language to you, but as long as it makes sense when he tells you what to do, you're not really bothered.
He's more stressed than usual, and Mary is running around like a maniac trying to sort out medical supplies before the move.
It's definitely not an easy situation.
But it's nearly over.
"(Y/N)! Vince!" You look over your shoulder, hearing Harriet's familiar voice as she approaches you in the distance- a group of unfamiliar faces behind her.
"Who the fuck are they?" You grumble to your boss. Due to being born and raised in the Scorch, you tend to be more forward and slightly less lenient. Especially towards new people.
"Not a clue."
The group approaches you, and Vince stands first.
Harriet seems pleased, and Sonya is talking to one of the boys, and it doesn't take a genius to be able to tell that they know each other.
Harriet has proved herself beyond useful and you put a lot of faith in her. She's a dedicated leader with sharp wits and a sharper tongue; not to mention she's incredibly intelligent- so why she's brought a group of strangers here without permission is beyond you.
"I thought the Right Arm was supposed to be an army," an Asian boy states, not yet caught on to Vince's presence as he walks towards them, with you reluctantly following.
"Yeah, we were," the group freezes as Vince speaks up. "This is all that's left of us."
You stand behind him, examining each of the group as they blankly stare at Vince. That's until you look at the boy that had previously spoken- who, for some reason, is looking at you.
He's handsome, about the same age as you and is well built. His hair looks suspiciously good for someone who has been through the Scorch. Then again, somehow, the majority of the group seem relatively unscathed.
"Lotta good people died getting us this far," Vince continues as you hold the boys gaze, only breaking eye contact when he looks away, finally cracking under the pressure.
"Who are they?" Vince finally asks.
"They're Immunes," Harriet responds, almost sounding bored. "Caught 'em coming up the mountain."
"You check 'em?" Your ends land on a girl. Her hair is short and she's pretty short- but she's sickly pale and almost a shade of purple. Something is definitely not right.
"I know this guy, Aris," Harriet points to one of the boys, "I trust him."
"Well, I don't. Check 'em-"
"Vince-" he grab his arm, stepping forward and gaining his attention, he looks at you as you point at the girl "-I don't know about you, but she ain't look like a Munie to me."
As if on cue, the girl gasps, her eyes rolling into the back of her head before she collapes. Falling forward, she crashes into the ground, surely conscious.
"Brenda! Brenda!" The elder of the group dives to her side and Vince looks at you.
"What's goin' on?" You shrug, but pull a pistol from its sheath attached to your leg.
The man pulls Brenda up, letting her head fall backwards as he cradles her.
"I'm sorry," she gasps, "I'm sorry."
"What's going on with her?" Vince asks- but you know. You were raised around Cranks. Hell, you were raised by Cranks. The Flare affects people differently; some people could go for months before even showing signs, and others were a couple of hours.
The scavengers and people you surrounded yourself with were picked off by the virus, one by one.
You know what it looks like better than anyone.
"I don't know," the man says. "Brenda, are you alright?"
Vince spots a bandage on Brenda's leg, peeling it away and revealing a bite mark. "Oh shut!" He dives back and your suspicions are confirmed.
You immediately point the gun at her. You're not risking everything for this random girl. Vince does the same. "Crank! We got a Crank!"
"No! No!" The group immediately splits, with one of the teenagers diving in and blocking Vince whilst the man is grabbed by two of your own men, yanking him away.
"Stay back!" Vince yells but the boy doesn't move.
"This just happened, okay? She's not dangerous yet." The boy tries to bargain but you just scoff.
"You shouldn't have brought her here!"
"I know."
"We let Cranks in here now, the Safe Haven doesn't last a week!"
"I understand," the boy continues to argue, but you're more than ready to end this, "Alright, just listen. Please. Please, okay? I told her that you could help."
Brenda is panting on the floor. Her body is limp and gasping. You feel bad for her.
"There's gotta be something you can do."
"Yeah, there is," you step forward, "we can put her out of her misery."
You cock your gun and the still restrained man keeps screaming "no". You suck in a deep breath, preparing yourself to pull the trigger when a familiar voice stops you.
"(Y/N)! That's enough!" Maty shouts from behind you. "Vince; let him go!" She marches over, repeating herself. "Let him go!"
The men do as she says and you lower your gun, even if Vince doesn't do the same. "She's infected, Doc. There's nothing we can do for her."
"No, but he can," Mary looks at the boy that was trying to bargain, making you and Vince exchange puzzled looks. "Hello, Thomas."
Like something out of a comedy skit, the other four teenage boys look at each other. And then, for some reason, look at you for an answer- which you don't have. So, you just shrug, looking at Vince.
Who also just shrugs.
"You know me?" Thomas asks as Vince lowers his gun.
"Interesting. It makes sense they'd put you in the Maze." Mary walks over to the sick girl. "Though, I must admit, I was worried they'd kill you after what you did."
"What I did?" Thomas manages to stammer out.
"The first time we spoke, you said you couldn't take it anymore, watching your friends die, one by one. The last time we spoke, you gave me the coordinates of every WCKD compound, trial and lab."
"He was our source," Vince looks at Thomas in some kind of awe.
"We couldn't have pulled all this off without him. Take her to the tent," Mary instructs the nearest guys, "and get these guys some warm clothes."
She instructs Thomas to follow her, leaving you and Vince with the confused group of teenagers.
He blinks blankly as they wait for a response. He looks at Harriet and Sonya before he looks at you, his mouth opening and closing like a fish.
"Deal with this."
"Wait, what?" Vince immediately turns around, walking away even though you're speaking to him. "Why do I have to deal with this?"
"Because I said so!" He shouts over his shoulder. "Just do it!"
You turn back to the boys, and the remaining girl, swallowing and composing yourself for a second- you're not a people person. You don't deal with people; Vince does.
But since Vince has decided to pussy out, apparently it's now your job.
"Are, uh... are you guys hungry?"
One of them shrugs, he has dark skin and a contagious smile. "Sure, I could eat."
"Alright, follow me, I guess." You turn around, the boys behind you exchanging another round of nervous glances before doing as you say.
You can hear the mumbling behind you, even if Sonya and Harriet have decided to tag along; mainly so they can bond with Aris and catch up. You can hear them explaining some basic things- stuff about Dr Cooper, how things work around here, the departure at first light, etc. Nothing you need to pay attention to, at least.
The boldest of the group becomes apparent pretty fast. "So, you help Vince run this joint?" The Asian boy from before sparks up a conversation, and you squint at him.
"That's right."
"How'd that happen?" You shoot a glare his way. "I mean, you look pretty young- compared to Vince and... uh..."
"Mary?"
"Yep," he clicks his tongue as you remind him of the name. "That's the one. You don't quite fit in with them; a leader, a doctor, and a teenage girl- how'd that happen?"
"What's your name?" You ask, looking at him out of the corner of your eye. He's curious, that's for sure. You might as well learn the name of your interrogator.
"Minho," he states, "and you're (Y/N), right?"
"Hm, well observed," you hum, "can't remember the name of the woman who's saving your friend's life, but you can remember mine?"
This seems to catch him off-guard, and his bold demeanour slips for just a second. "Well, what can I say? It's memorable."
You reach a small table, signalling for them to sit down before you call someone over, instructing them to bring food.
"So, you gonna answer my question or what?"
"Trust Minho to start flirting with the first girl he sees," a boy you're pretty sure you heard someone call Frypan says, earing a sharp kick to the shin from Minho.
You scoff, deciding to ignore the comment as you take your own seat. "I'm a lowlife thief, to answer your question." Minho raises his eyebrow at you, silently pushing you to continue.
"Lived my whole life in the Scorch; everyone- family, friends, you name it -caught the Flare and died. I'm the last man standing. Used to fuck about stealing shit from WCKD, then ended up tryna swipe guns off of these assholes. Obviously, I didn't know it was the Right Arm, but Vince liked my uh... what did he call it? Spark? Whatever, doesn't matter- but that's how I ended up here."
Minho hums. "That's quite the story."
You shrug. "Not really. Ask anyone here; we've all got the same sob-story. Well, not you guys, I guess. Can't imagine what you've all been through."
Somehow, this leads into a brief conversation about the Maze and what the boys have been through, including actual introductions. The only girl, Teresa, has been so quiet you've barely even acknowledged her presence, until she stands up and walks away without saying a word.
The group eats, and eventually, you leave, choosing to let Sonya and Harriet catch up with Aris, and the boys settle down before moving again.
You find Vince, continuing your discussion of plans when he makes a surprising comment.
"You've definitely got his attention."
"What?" You perk your head up, blinking from your seat in the shade. Vince nods his head towards the Gladers, who have decided to take their seats on top of a slight hill. Minho, once again, holds your gaze.
He's not shy. That's for sure.
"See," he scoffs.
"I think you're looking too much into this." You look away, back to your plans. "I've done literally nothing to gain any attention."
"Yeah, well, by the sounds of things, these boys haven't really seen any girls, remember?"
"They literally arrived with two." He glares at you, obviously jokingly, which makes you chuckle. "What does it matter? Have you reached the low point of indulging yourself in teenagers' non-existent love lives?
"Ha-ha," he says dryly, making you genuinely grin at him.
You might not have known Vince long, but him and Mary are the closet you have to family.
Which is probably why what happens next hurts so much.
Teresa's betrayal happened so fast you could barely even process it and the entire thing is kind of a blur in your mind.
WCKD blasted through the remaining Right Arm like it was nothing. They killed Mary and kidnapped Minho, along with several other Immunes.
It was a hard blow.
Vince made the executive decision to leave you in charge of the Safe Haven. After the events of the betrayal, the remainder of the people either decided to help Thomas or retreat to safety. With Mary gone and Vince still leading the rebellion, you're now in charge of the peaceful Safe Haven.
Even if anxiety eats at you every day.
You're left entirely in the dark, waiting every day for Vince and the others to show up.
And every day ends the same; you're still in charge and you're still stressed.
It's shit, to be honest.
Just over six months pass, and you change a lot. You've gone from the slightly sarcastic nihilistic thief that Vince recruited to a well-respected leader who cares for her people.
"Ma'am!" One of your men bursts into the medical tent where you're cheering up a pregnant lady that you've befriended. Her partner got killed at the battle and you've become close, often helping her in the medical tent.
You look over at him, shock plastered on his face. "They're here."
You don't say anything as you rush out of the tent, the blaring mechanical beating sounds of the Berg come to a halt as you start to sprint across the sand. The doors of the Berg open, and for a second, you're thrilled.
Until you see a bleeding and unconscious Thomas. "What happened?" You ask as you arrive at the Berg.
Definitely not the reunion you wanted.
"He got shot," Vince struggles along with the help of Jorge and some random dude you've never met.
You rush them to the medical tent, enlisting the help of one of your trained doctors, who immediately assembles a small group to prep for surgery.
"You've grown up," you meet Vince at a secluded part of the Safe Haven, his back towards you as he soaks in the ocean in the distance. He doesn't even need to look to know it's you.
"I'm not sure I agree with that," you scoff.
"You have, kid. People have been gushing about you since I got back- you've achieved a lot."
"Still got a lot to learn, though."
"Don't we all?" A silence settles in, the shadows on his face are dark and his hair is much longer.
"What happened, Vince?" He looks at you, almost like he's in physical pain.
He explains everything. The struggles they've all faced that you weren't present to bear witness to and the losses. He explains that Gally is a boy that the Gladers used to know and he helped them into the Last City. Which is where they'd lost Newt and Teresa helped them escape, only to fall victim to the crumbling WCKD tower.
They're safe now, but healing isn't going to be easy.
You spend the next couple of hours letting Vince take over your duties, and showing him around. It's nice to feel the weight be lifted off of your shoulders, but some of the folk you've been tending to seem reluctant for you to pass the torch back.
Once night falls, and Thomas is up walking again, you catch a glimpse of the boys you'd met once. And for some reason, the urge to talk to them comes over to you.
"Well," you say as you approach from behind, "I honestly thought I'd never see you assholes again." You step over a box, using it as a seat.
"Same to you, shuck-face," Minho grins at you and you scoff.
"Yeah, I still don't understand your shitty Maze insults," you drop your head, smiling to yourself before pulling it back up again. "Seriously, it's good to see you guys."
"(Y/N), I'm assuming?" An unfamiliar boy asks and you nod as he holds his hand out for you to shake. "Gally."
"Ah, yes- Vince mentioned you." You take his hand in a firm grip, stiffly shaking.
"All good things, I hope."
"Please, he barely has anything to say at all."
Minho clears his throat, bringing your attention back to him. "Heard you've been running the joint, that true?"
"Aye, well, someone had to," you stretch slightly. "Can't complain, though- this place is full of people willing to do what I say."
"You letting the power get to your head, yet?" You jut your lip out at him and he grins.
The conversation is cut short as you listen to Vince's speech, watching as the boys get up one by one to carve names into the stone.
The boys seem to settle surprisingly fast, and with your status, your moments with them are cut to few and far between.
"Hey," you look up, the voice pulling you out of your daydreams. You normally spend the early mornings in Safe Haven sitting on the sand, letting the water splash at your feet hours before anyone else has woken up. Except this morning, you're apparently not the only early bird.
"Hey," you respond as Minho sits next to you.
"Do you even sleep?" He scoffs. You're normally the last person to go to bed and the first person to rise.
"Eh, depends on the day," you joke, sending a friendly smirk his way.
You sit in a comfortable silence for a while, until you clear your throat.
"I'm sorry about your friend," you say, and he smiles sadly. "I'm sorry about everything you went through. Vince has told me what he knows- Thomas has mentioned pieces, and it sounds horrible but that doesn't compare to the actual thing."
"Yeah, it's kinda weird, yanno? Feels like I've been on survival mode for so long, I don't know what to do with myself now."
"Yeah," you nod along, "I get that."
"What was it like? Living in the Scorch?"
"I'm sure Brenda and Jorge have told you all about it," you stare off into the sea, watching the waves roll over themselves.
"They've told me about their side of things- but Jorge has a whole group of psychos doin' his bidding until klunk hit the fan when we showed up. Haven't really told us anything about the Scorch."
"It was... Hard. Years of contact survival, moving one place to the next when someone got infected. It was just years of damage control that never really worked."
This became a routine. You and Minho would get up early, meet on the beach, and spend your time until the others woke up talking.
It's actually kind of nice.
Turns out, Minho isn't always sarcastic and full of wit; he's actually surprisingly emotionally intelligent and you confide a lot in each other.
You'd be lying if you said you hadn't started to develop feelings for the boy. How could you not?
You'd never had a crush on someone before. You didn't have time in the Scorch and no one stuck around long enough to develop much relationship. But this is different.
You're safe here.
And unbeknownst to you, Minho feels the exact same way.
"What the hell are you doing?"
It'd been weeks now. Minho gushed about you to the Gladers, who made nudging gestures and knowing glances to each other. They'd been pushing him to make an actual move for what felt like forever.
Though, they didn't mean to stand shirtless in the salt water at the crack of dawn.
"Goin' for a swim? What's it look like?"
"Dude, it's like five in the morning- I'm not fucking up my hair this early," you stand with your arms crossed, head tilted.
"Aw, c'mon, you gotta slim it, Captain- you're runnin' round here every day. Just tryna help ya relax."
"I'm plenty relaxes- No! Hey! Don't come near me!" Minho plows through the water, grasping towards you. "No! Minho! I swear to-"
You manages to grab your wrist, yanking you towards him and you shreik as he pulls you in with him. The water consumes you and the taste of salt is overwhelming.
"You prick!" You voice breaks as Minho laughs. He laughs with his whole chest, something you've never heard from him before. Scrambling to your feet, you catch him off-guard as you dive at him.
You both crash back into the water, he's submerged for a second but the water is shallow. He lifts his head, resting on his elbows to push himself up as he smiles at you.
You can't help but laugh as you hover above him, your legs tangled together.
Whilst you're having your fit of laughter, Minho just stares at you. You're the most gorgeous thing he's ever seen- like a Goddess in the flesh.
You look at him properly just as he leans forward. Pressing his lips to yours, you freeze for a second before melting into it, shifting slightly to sit on his lap instead. Your hands coming to his face.
"You know," he mumbles as he pulls away from your face, "I always wanted this. Safety- a place to actually call home. But I never thought I'd have this."
"This?"
He scoffs. "I like you, (Y/N). I don't know what's gonna happen- I just know I wouldn't mind having you with me."
Instead of responding, you kiss him again, deeper this time.
This took me embarrassingly long to do so I do apologise I am running out of new ways to do this. Definitely not my best work but I decided to not make things too complicated since things move fast in the films.
And for this first time ever, you think; maybe things aren't that bad.
Tumblr media
I hope you enjoyed regardless :))

do you have any thoughts on diavolo and donatella's relationship, headcanons or otherwise? hard to say with so little in canon, but it must've been something pretty special if diavolo allowed himself to get close to her (as shortlived as it was...)
I absolutely do. I've talked about Donatella a bit in the past, so I'll link some relevant posts to this one here.
(x) (x)
But I do feel like I have more I can say, which I will put under a cut.
In some sense, I don't consider Donatella fully a character as much as I consider her a vector for the plot to get started. She doesn't have a single speaking line in the manga, she's dead before the story starts, and she's only brought up to elaborate on other characters- namely, Diavolo and Trish. Canonically, she has functionally no agency other than being a former partner to Diavolo and mother to Trish (both relationships we see as close to nothing of as Vento Aureo could possibly manage).
Donatella is, in my opinion, a combination of two common writing tendencies in Jojo: one, its tendency to throw in background female characters to have an unexplored relationship with a male character just so they can have a child, and two, the characterization of Diavolo in particular being full of "throwing in a bunch of things that imply something really interesting about him, but with a complete lack of elaboration that leaves the potential unexplored and intent vague" (as I've said before, that's a thing the series likes to do in general, but I think Diavolo has got it bad).
The most obvious implication with Donatella is the nature of Diavolo's past. As we see him in the series, Diavolo is aggressively paranoid of any and all connection with anybody else, including any knowledge about or contact with him. Him having a girlfriend briefly/one-night-stand(?) in the past suggests that he was once not this way, or maybe not as bad as he is in the present story. The knowledge of Donatella also comes with the knowledge that he used to have an alias he would use for interacting with people before he became the Boss and hid away from society entirely, which adds to this.
However, we already have things to suggest that he displayed odd and paranoid behavior even then; namely, him burying his mother under the floorboards at around the same time. To me, I always thought this suggested blood relations were something that always bothered him, though for what reason back then, I'm not sure. Still, this suggests he was never quite a normal person, making his brief relationship even more of an interesting behavior for him (with the implication that Doppio was the one fronting to the public most of the time, yet Diavolo being the one who had the relationship, making it even more peculiar).
We don't really know how long they dated for and we don't know exactly how Donatella felt about Diavolo after he abandoned her and left her with a child. Similarly, we also don't know how Diavolo felt about her; at most, we know his relationship with her is something that he regrets, and when he goes into tangents about how his past haunts him, he's usually alluding to said relationship with her. We do not know about what Diavolo thinks of Donatella as a person present-day.
Personally, I can't see Diavolo carrying particular sentimental attachment to Donatella in present-day Vento Aureo. By that point, he's too far gone to care about anybody, I think. If anything, he probably ceases to view her as an individual and more as a fragment of his past come back to haunt him. If he does have feelings about her as a person, it is likely contempt and frustration.
I have often seen it portrayed as a plot hole that Diavolo didn't just go ahead and kill her early on to save him the trouble; I actually disagree that this is a plot hole. Killing Donatella, I imagine, would only have caused him more trouble than it's worth. Wouldn't people get weirded out at him ordering for the killing of a seemingly random woman, tempting people to look into it? I imagine the only chance he really could've had to kill her was at the same time he faked his death in his hometown, but we don't know if he could've done that, given she was likely somewhere else in Sardinia at the time and he'd have to rush to flee without people noticing.
It is perhaps a little more character-contradictory that Diavolo was not paranoid about Donatella going to look for him until it was revealed she had his child. To me, I think that Diavolo could've not been concerned about her because he couldn't believe she would particularly remember him for so long after he just dated her for a few weeks; he didn't kill everyone in his hometown, after all, just burnt it down. One of Diavolo's shown traits is that he is utterly unable to understand other people caring for each other, so it makes sense he lacks understanding why Donatella would care about her memory of his younger self.
I have also seen it asked why Donatella did not go looking for Diavolo before she was dying. This is something that's not explained, so I find it a fair plot criticism. Personally, I think the most logical explanation is that she was looking for someone who could take care of Trish after she passed. It sounds like she was left without anybody that could take her daughter if she was gone, and so in desperation, she sent someone to search for Trish's father. This explanation would mean that it's less of a sentimental "I want to see the person I dated so long ago just one more time" thing and more of her last-ditch effort for anybody so Trish wouldn't be left orphaned. (It seems most likely to me that Donatella would have a complicated mix of resentment but also a sense of remaining feeling for Diavolo after he accidentally left her with a child. She doesn't seem to ever speak badly about him, but he did do something terrible to her by abandoning her like that.)
As for how Diavolo and Donatella met and got attached to each other... Honestly, I don't think very much that doesn't go into complete fanfiction-territory. That's something we are given literally nothing about. I like to think that Donatella was something a little special to him, even if she only managed to charm Diavolo for a very short time. It does feed into the tragic nature of Diavolo's character; the idea that he once had the inklings of someone who cared about him and he was/could've been happy with, but his paranoia and greed ultimately overpowered anything else, so any kindling of love was never meant to be.
This is pretty long now so I'll leave it at that haha... but that's how I feel about Donatella, generally. She's probably the background Jojo character I care and think about the most. (And I didn't even get into her relationship with Trish as a mother to her lol...)

WIP game!
rules: make a new post with the names of all the files in your wip folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Tag as many people as you have wips. People send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, then post a little snippet or tell them something about it!
---
I prefer Read-mores just so things are more readable hsdfdsf
Tagged by my friend @hannahbarberra162 thank you!!! Heehee! All but one of the published ones are still on chapter one... I do not write fast :') Honestly, the one person I'm comfortable tagging is the one who tagged me, soo... breaking the rules already lol. Anybody who sees this and wants to, please do! (It's not bc I have problems with anyone, she's just the only one I talk to regularly. I'm kinda new to this lol)
No Rest For the Wicked - Yandere modern serial killer Sabo/Koala x Goth reader. (Literal hurt/comfort. Stalking implied, murder is gonna happen. Was meant to be a one-shot debut of sorts on Halloween, but it got too long...)
You're a goth student at a small university, and someone you thought was your friend lures you into a Carrie-style Halloween prank- But it goes wrong and the bucket they drop cracks your head open. Luckily, the Grad Student Instructor and his partner happen to be there and are awfully eager to help you out.
Galley on 4th - Yandere Modern (but with dfs eventually) Thatch x reader. (Also hurt/comfort. Gonna get increasingly sketchy as time goes on. Stalkng. Maybe smut? Omg nooo hot chef don't intrude on my life and insist on caring for me noooo)
Raising your kid sister all by yourself is hard enough on it's own. But add classes, poverty, and several jobs to juggle and the pressure builds awfully fast. Most employers will drop you on a whim and it's all you can do to stay afloat… So when you somehow manage to land a well-paying position at The Galley on 4th Avenue, a famous, high-end place run by some well renowned Chef- You're desperate to hold things down. Good thing your new Boss is so friendly and understanding, huh?
Birds of a Feather - Marco & OC (entirely platonic. Hurt at the start, comfort, tooth-rotting fluff. Has artwork for it!)
Marco the Phoenix is found by an orphaned harpy child that mistakes him for one of their own kind. It takes less than a day to commit to adoption- he really is taking after his father.
Unpublished:
Bleeding Heart - What was meant to be one fic for my self-insert OC has splintered into several snippets. Born with CAVC, they thought they were lucky to receive corrective surgery as a child, only for that surgery to be botched. They now have to use the blood-blood fruit- a devil fruit with countless horrific urban legends attributed to it- to compensate for their faulty heart by manually managing their blood flow in secret. Very grumpy and easily overwhelmed bc who wouldn't be in their situation? One version they go with the WBP and in another, with the Strawhats.
Untitled Whitey Bay oneshot- sweet, smutty f/f oneshot that ends in reader eloping to a life on the seas. Reader is a lonely, wistful barmaid who dreams of something more exciting than waiting tables in a dingy bar. One day, a striking lady pirate docks on your island, stopping by your bar... and just your luck, the tall, blue-haired woman seems just as interested in you as you are in her.
Untitled Isekai idea- Reader is brought to the world of OP by a devil-fruit reader with portal-related powers. He's a self-proclaimed mad genius but is actually a jackass wannabe-Ceasar who piggybacks off of the works of others- even utilizing his ability to hopefully grab something useful from other realms rather than making shit himself. But it's random most of the time... cue reader.
Untitled dark Thatch oneshot- honestly not sure if I want to post this when it's done. Non/dubcon. Yandere Thatch finds a promising little chef and lays on the charm, but they won't leave with him. Months later, he finds them cowering in the Galley of a Marine ship and assumes they're in bed with the enemy. Unaware that they were forced to work there and too amped up to listen, he steals them away like he wanted to on that damn island. Meaner than what I tend to go for, but ends with him doting on them. Very unsure abt this hfdsfg
Yandere Nami idea
Second set of ASI hcs, but centered around Marco
I want to elaborate on the Crocodile x Selkie reader idea

📂📂 For Hesperos 👀
send 📂 for a random headcanon // accepting!! ily.
post-raids, since he can't leave pandaemonium he has a "cell", but since he's a keywarden and really he's only there as a formality, he has full ability to customize it and it's basically an apartment. it's also pretty close to the entrance to asphodelos. he had to create the furniture for it himself for the most part so its all very.... on theme, lol. hes still committed to being A Dracula. hes inventing being a goth victorian and extremely committed to that vibe, dont worry about it. some of the things were brought from his old apartment, bc he just gave erich the keys and was like 'idk do whatever u want u can keep the place or give it back to management but can i have my books'
he's gone out of his way to be sure he's apologized and explained himself to everyone he harmed in the raids after he got the ultima burned out of him, except the original designer of the vrykolakas because he doesnt know them personally and is too embarrassed to be like "heeeeyyyyyy soooooo i thought itd be really sexy of me if your ghoul you made was actually a vampire and that vampire was me, it was a whole thing, i wanted to homoromantically bite my boss and i was like wow well if thats not the monster to do it and like i WAS right it WOULD have been really sexy of me if it'd worked out but instead i have now just kind of plagarized your art into my body. uh. sorry about that" so any time that researcher or a member of their team visits hesperos makes himself incredibly scarce and makes erich be their guide LOL sorry erichthonios he'll do one of your jobs in the meantime instead.... it's too embarrassing he can't explain himself.... it was already embarrassing enough to have to go "sorry for yelling about how i wanted to fuck your dad and trying to kill you and hurt your feelings about it erich" he cant explain himself a second time to a stranger.

HetaOni Fanmade Ending Thoughts
I have both compliments and criticisms and just want to give my honest thoughts after playing.
I enjoyed the scenes with the nations themselves, such as Italy being trapped in his mind in a perfect simulation and Holy Rome, Prussia, Romano, and the two ancients working together to get him out. I liked the basic idea that Russia's seemingly disturbing phone calls were actually him trying to help, but not saying anything because he could never find the right time. I think the way England got his sight back made enough sense, although I think it'd be even better if he was shown having to deal with the consequences of the sacrifice a bit more, plus maybe America having more moments to react, get upset, and help him out.
What I didn't get into, however, was the explanation for why the events of the game happened. In short, everything with the 2ps. For me, their existence in the game felt very random and not at all organic. I think the plot with them could work in another game, but not HetaOni, because the original game had no build up that would ever make me expect a universe domination scheme with 2ps, plus the themes and styles don't match. It'd be like if you took Coraline and threw in an evil organisation that employed witches to rid the world of children, haha.
I think a backstory/myth just surrounding the lore of that one cursed house would've worked better, something focused more on Ryuuzu and the creatures as mysterious supernatural entities on their own rather than elements of a super ambitious plot. Maybe they can't even be fully explained. I do have ideas, but I feel it'd be better to make a separate post for that.
Moving on to the ending itself, I have mixed feelings. While the nations worked very hard together, I feel like the 2ps just deciding on their own to hand over an escape portal felt a bit...anticlimactic? It sort of removed their agency. I think it would've been better if they acquired an escape route on their own. Either by finding it, defeating a final boss and taking it, or even having to convince the one keeping them trapped to let them go.
Then, when they do leave the mansion, I'm okay with them expecting to lose their memories since that brought about a very sweet scene I felt fit all their growth so far, but then there should be a scene that triggers the memories to come back. That sort of happened with the candy, but it felt unsatisfying how little they remembered, because then it's hard to tell how much their arcs meant in the end. If their memories have to stay gone then I feel like they should at least have a moment expressing how strangely, they all feel a great deal closer to each other and less alone than ever before, maybe in an epilogue scene at the sleepover thing they decide to have.
These are just my opinions. Maybe they'll be taken into consideration for the remake, maybe they won't, but either way, it was interesting to see a continuation of the game. The art was great and made it a lot easier to take serious moments, well, seriously. Also, I don't know if/how much the original dialogue got tweaked, but it felt better than I remember. I'm sure it took a lot of hard work to recreate the game, so congratulations to Cookie for starting the project and seeing it through.

Throwback to the beginnings of my costuming journey. Though this armor has since been retired, mainly due to my unfortunate physical growth, I think back on these times fondly. I like to think the time and care I put into my first build shows, but I may be a touch biased.
Tumblr media
The completion of this armor lead to a great many things in my life. Some of the most fun I've ever had, some of the best friends I've ever made, and some of the coolest opportunities I never thought I'd have.
Tumblr media
In 2016 I was invited to attend a convention in Salt Lake where I met the man himself, big boss Boba Fett, Jeremy Bulloch. While it was a brief (but incredibly cool) opportunity, he wasn't the only hero I got to meet that weekend. While attending a panel for Mark Hamill, I also got a high five from Jason David Frank (RIP). Another man I've loved and respected for as long as I can possibly remember.
Tumblr media
While manning the Star Wars Costuming Clubs booth that same year, along with a new friend, we were blown away by a random surprise visit by Michael Rooker. Though I regret missing this opportunity to get a picture, the conversation we had without a massive group of people interrupting him, is all the memory of the event I need. What a genuinely cool guy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Over the years my armor evolved and grew with me, but continued to open doors I never thought possible. Growing up in the middle of nowhere, no real money to my name, and no opportunities to truly geek out with the people left in my hometown, I never thought that Comic Cons and costume groups would be part of my life. I had followed what the 501st Legion was doing since I was a kid, and was truly blown away when I saw them on tv marching in the Rose Bowl Parade in 2007. Still, I never thought anything like that would exist in Montana. At that point, the Mandalorian Mercs were just starting, so I hadn't even heard of them yet.
Tumblr media
By the time I started college, I was made aware of the existence of the MMCC. Sitting in my dorm dreaming that I'd have the money, time, space, skills, etc, to start a build of my own some day. Then one day in 2015, I saw this helmet for sale from Headshot Props, and I knew it was time. I had to make this purchase. I checked my accounts, moved some stuff around, skipped getting groceries for a few weeks, and 2 months later, there it was in all of its glory. Sitting at my doorstep when I got off work, I don't think I had ever been that excited. I took it inside, ripped open the box, knocked off just enough of the sharp edges to put it on without cutting myself, and low and behold... it didn't fit.
Motivation: demolished. Faith: gone.
I was, frustrated, to say the least. I'm the type of person to take setbacks like this extremely personally because of how often it seems like it happens to me. I set it on the shelf and looked at it for a few days. I knew there was nothing I could do about a return because the dimensions were posted, and I measured my head. It should have fit. I didn't take into account the cheeks of the helmet being a tighter spot, and my bigass fivehead just wasn't gonna do it without breaking the helmet. I had to do something though. I sanded the hell out of the inside of the cheeks to the point that you could see light through them, and I could get the helmet on, though it wasn't a pleasant experience. I then took my heat gun, thinking there's no way this will work, heated the resin just enough to push the cheeks out that little bit extra, and I'll be damned. It was just enough. The helmet was still tight, but it fit, and it was back to game on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The course of the next few months brought on a ton of changes. I was lucky enough to be working at a sign shop at the time I began this journey, and that shop had a seemingly endless supply of foamed PVC board and a flatbed CNC machine. I was able to trace out my armor design and just have it cut right there! Barely even had to trim and sand anything! It was amazing! I started learning skills I never even knew I wanted. Using a heat gun to form shapes, learning to paint, kit bashing parts to make in-universe looking props, it just never seemed to end! Halfway through my build, I moved, but I didn't let that move ruin my motivation. In that tote was a pile of loose parts and a helmet. Within a month of moving into my new place, it was wearable. Rough, but wearable. Around Halloween that year, I had met up with some local guys that were also building armor, and we handed out candy at the Zoo! It was amazing, and I had so much fun. Met some of my future best friends that day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Over the years of doing local events, I've been humbled on a few occasions. Mostly from people who joined the group later on that have told me their journey started when they saw me at one event or the other. That's such an incredible feeling and honestly makes all the time, effort, money, stress, blood, and love I've put into this build worth it.
If you've stuck with this post this far, I applaud you. You can probably tell I'm not much of a writer and I'm all over the place with no real conclusion to any of it. I'm really just reminiscing. This weekend I will be parting out this original kit, or at least most of it, in order to help new costumers, new friends, get a foothold in their build, and hopefully motivate them to continue.
If you've ever wanted to build a costume, regardless of what fandom it's for, don't let anyone tell you not to do it. Buy it, build it; piece by piece or all it once, it doesn't matter. Just do it. Solid chance you'll never regret it.

Random thoughts of the day.
Anyone ever have to abandon your accounts because of a hacker? This gal did! Oh well. Been meaning to switch over to my AccordingToPluto brand for a while now and go in a different direction for my social medias, mainly to focus on my original creative works and posting my kittens in as many places I feel comfortable posting to.
I guess another thing that has been on my mind is just how many indie games I have in my backlog. Like, I have two games from the creators of the Anodyne games in my backlog, still need to finish Here Comes Niko, and LOTS of RPGs, like Furquest and Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass, to get around to. And who coulda guessed that Everhood was gonna get a sequel!? That news caught me VERY off-guard, though I definitely am gonna play the shit out of it once it comes out if it lives up to the awesomeness of game one.
Speaking of games, did anyone feel caught off-guard when both Super Mario Wonder and Mario RPG Remake were slated to be released this year? Firstly, a 2D Mario was inevitable, though I could never have guessed the fever dream that we are getting in October! Like, who's first thought for a 2D Mario made by Nintendo in-house would include four playable Yoshis, a friggin' elephant form taken right out of the Shantae series, and the fact that we are in a brand new kingdom that exports friggin' flowers that alter reality itself into a drug trip version of itself. Talk about chaotic, but I like it. Second, how and why is Super Mario RPG getting remade for Switch? I mean, I am damn happy about it, since it is super overlooked by Nintendo themselves lately. However, it seems kinda random at the same time. I literally had to watch both trailers for the aforementioned games over a dozen times just to confirm that I wasn't hallucinating it. Oh yeah, did I mention Peach is getting her own game for the first time in forever and Dark Moon is getting what seems to be a ground-up remake that both release in 2024? As a Mario fan, ya girl is hecka hyped to say the least.
While we're on the topic of Mario games, is anyone so sick of people hating on Color Splash and Origami King for not being like games one and two of the Paper Mario series? Like, I can sorta understand Color Splash's hate due to how similar it is to Sticker Star, but I can see past its comparisons and enjoy it as its own thing. Origami King, on the other hand, I just can't understand the hate. Like, I understand the ring battle system can be irritating, but I can see what they were going for in making the strategy about puzzle-solving rather than basic RPG mechanics given that that is what the current trilogy does best at. Hell, even the Paper Machos kinda follow this sort of thing, as you have to figure out their locations and attack patterns in a sort of puzzle-y sort of way that Zelda does. If I had my way, though, I would reserve the puzzle system exclusively for the boss battles, as that's where the system shines brightest in my opinion. And can we talk about how gorgeous the overworld is!? Like, it is so pretty and well-thought out to be both accessible and rewarding for those that are completionist types. There is something satisfying about filling holes with confetti and finding those origami Toads every which way. A big criticism towards Origami King is the fact that they find the paper focus distracting and the whole origami plot hard to take seriously. My counterpoint is that one should focus on the characters only in the world they are in and take into consideration how and why they fear and do the things they do. Like, imagine if you were a papercraft character in a world of arts and crafts. You would definitely fear being forcibly folded into a shape you can't undo on your own and would DEFINITELY fear something that could damage your paper body easily, like a hole punch or scissors. Likewise, if you were brought to life by origami with full awareness of the art of the fold and the rules that come with it, I can imagine how pissed off I would be if someone seemingly and thoughtlessly scribbled on me. Hell, I'd be pissed off if someone wrote on my three dimensional meat sack of a body without permission. To further defend King Olly and Olivia, Olly was never made aware of his purpose and probably felt lost and confused as hell. Think like an AI left without a dedicated directive. Meanwhile, Olivia was created with very clear motive and such, so of course she would be much clearer headed and positive. Final thought on the game is its soundtrack. OMG, one of my favorite and most listened to OSTs since Everhood found me. Easily in my top three Mario OSTs, right next to the Galaxy duology and Super Paper Mario.
Last thought of the day. Who else thinks that a Venusian colony makes far more sense than a Martian one? Think about it, Mars has a third less gravity, is energy poor, has toxic soil that can leave a crew very ill, and lacks a strong atmosphere to protect herself from the solar wind and cosmic rays. Yeah, Venus has few of these problems, at least if you stay about 34 miles up. The temperatures are hot, but very survivable, the thick atmosphere levels out to 1 bar (one Earth atmosphere at sea level), and the gravity is the closest to Earth's at between 89 and 92% of our blue rock's. Aside from that, fixing Venus for a land colony just takes a series of mirrors to block most of the Sun's rays, which will freeze the atmosphere after a few centuries, and leave us with a pure nitrogen atmosphere about 3 bar thick. After that, we just find a few water rich asteroids and comets to send Venus' way and eventually fertilize it with cyanobacteria to make the air breathable. Any excess CO2 we don't want, we can cut it from the surface and let it accrete into a satellite around Venus for later use, such as fluffing up the Martian atmosphere. The tech needed for this to work is not even that far off. Even if we don't terraform Venus, we can still have large cloud cities with thick, acid resistant material filled with Earth air. I say Earth air, as Venus' atmosphere is so thick that air from our planet actually would allow something to be buoyant in the clouds, kinda like a boat in the ocean. The thick air also would make any repairs much easier to do, as it would make the hole leak at a far slower pace than helium on Earth does. Add in Venus' regular proximity to the Blue Marble being much more common than Mars and you have a recipe for a perfect colony among the Venusian clouds. Of course, having a lunar base already stable on our Moon would definitely speed things along in either case.
That's all I have for today. Take care and be safe.

Hi! 🫧
I'm not sure if you write for Last boss but i'm sending my request in anyways 😖
(I'm sorry this is so long 😕) But my idea is that the reader and last boss were together before the borderlands and when they entered the borderlands they got split apart and didn't think they'd ever see each other again. To have it make sense, the reader becomes friends with Usagi and Arisu and so when they all arrive at the beach, the reader and last boss finally meet each other again and it's a little bit angsty and fluffy between them?
if i write last boss????? that man is babygirl. and i don't mind long requests at all!! thank you for requesting and feedback is always welcome!
"Son! Y/N is here! She brought food for you, isn't it nice? Won't you come out to talk to her?", he heard his mom's muffled voice through the door as he tapped away about a newly discovered endeavor, of a group of hikers that after being lost for months in the woods were found dead after killing each other. He was so caught up that he missed the "I'm sorry, really. You know how he is" "It's fine, don't worry".
You met Samura Takatora in unusual circumstances: you had commented in one of his blog posts talking about world exploration, how people go through the utmost dangerous experiences and processes just to experiment the illusion of freedom, talking about how he couldn't be free if he really wanted to. About how he was restraining himself, about how all people were. Being choked by social norms and expectations. You felt for him. Felt seen. And so you decided to comment on it, and surprisingly he replied and you started to message each other back and forth and, after he told you he lived relatively close, you took it upon yourself to visit him. You weren't as surprised as any other person would, actually, not after talking to him for a while. He told you all about how he lived his life and although you'd thought it was a red flag at first, he got to you and you started to grow even closer when you managed to see him face to face, even hidden behind his long bangs and facial hair. It wasn't a normal relationship by any means. Like a wounded animal, you had to carefully get close to him, otherwise it seemed like you'd scare him away. The first time you held his hand he seemed like he turned into stone, his droopy shoulders almost coming up to his ears. You were his first partner, after all. Most of the time you just sat in silence in his stuffy room while he tapped away hunched over his computer. You kind of understood why he locked himself away, covering his windows, sitting in darkness. It's like time stood still in there, especially when you were with him.
And then everything changed.
-
If someone was to ask you what was the worst feeling you ever felt, it most definitely was running for your life. You had been in your way to bring groceries to Samura and his mom when you saw fireworks and as soon as you walked in his building, the power went off.
After only a few games, and seeing more deaths in about a week than in your entire life, you got the hang of it pretty quick. Look down, hide away, play in the games and try to find a way to go home. Sometimes you remembered Samura, when you were locked away in some random dark place during daytime. You hoped he didn't think you abandoned him.
Thankfully, you met Arisu and Usagi on a game right after. And when they told you they had seen cars and people with numbered bracelets, that those people could have the answers to what was happening, you were in. You needed to go back and find him.
-
The Beach was a very weird place. It was a complete escape from reality. There, you got the same feeling you did in Samura's room: like time stood still. Everyone was partying around the clock, and nothing was off limits, all always accompanied by blaring bass boosted music. You were on the poolside with Arisu and Usagi when the militants arrived.
Suddenly you were almost at the point of passing out. The music had been stopped at the request of the guy with the rifle but there was still the sound of blood rushing to your head. As long fingers wrapped around your bicep, you could hear hollering from the other armed people.
"Finally, Last Boss is about to get some!", the guy with the rifle shouted, waving it around and cackling.
You could only look up at him. He was so so different, but the eyes were the same. It was him.
Last Boss?
-
"Samura...", you mumbled, still looking up at him in a nearly catatonic state. He had all but dragged you to his room, egged on by his militant friends, and now he stood in front of you like a totally new person.
Head and face shaved, with tribal designs on it, that dragged down his arms. But his eyes, his delicate cupid's bow, even his stance. It was unmistakably him.
"That's not my name anymore. I'm Last Boss in this world", he said.
"What do you mean, this world? You look so different, and you have a katana and I was going to see you and I saw fireworks and then everything is so insane!", you word vomited, all of the stress of constant fight or flight crashing down on you.
"This new world is for the few chosen ones, what I dreamed of. What I talked about on the blog all the time. True life comes with the constant death", he said in a monotone voice. "And you're here now. That's even more proof that this is meant to happen".
"What?", you felt dizzy. "What are you saying?". You had tears brimming your eyes and instead of tensing up like he usually did when you showed any exacerbated emotion, he just chuckled, and took slow decided steps towards you, making you back up until you hit the wall. "Samura...", you closed your eyes, letting tears fall, his big hands on both sides of your face.
"That's not my name anymore", he simply said. No emotion, just a fact. Like "the sky is blue". "Say it for me".
"Last Boss...", you said. It felt foreign on your mouth but not bad. Specially with the way he looked happy. Happier than you had ever seen him.
"You don't like the death, that's what it's about?", he asked as if tranquilizing a child. To be fair, you were acting like one, nodding your head with a wobbly bottom lip and seeking refuge on his chest where he gladly welcomed you.
"People must die. They do all the time because death is what makes life, this place is where we are meant to be", he said.
"No, it's not! We're not meant to be here, we need to go back!", you pleaded with him, grasping his shoulders with desperate hands.
"Go back?", he frowned, arms falling back on his sides.
"You... You don't want to come back with me?", you looked and sounded heartbroken. You missed him so much and now that you finally found him, he was telling you that he wanted to be forever in an insane world.
"I saw how tired you were. When you used to come to my place so stressed after work. How you complained about people pretending, being hypocrites. How sad you were when people would judge you. Here, there's none of that. People respect you for who you are, what you show. You earn each and every day of your life to never be taken for granted", he said it so earnestly it touched you deep. You remembered seeing pictures of snowy mountains and dense forests, laying your head on his shoulder and saying how much you wished to be whisked away with him somewhere else. Maybe this was meant to be after all.
"I...", you eyed his katana wearily. Would you be able to do what it took to stay there forever? So far you didn't have to kill anyone but what if one day...
"What I did to my body is my vow of commitment to this world. I'm not going back", he was looking into your eyes with such intensity it's like the two of you were the only ones in the whole world.
"I don't know if... Don't know how I...", you looked at his katana yet again. He simply smiled, stepping back and reaching behind his back to take it out. He stepped closer, letting the cool blade touch your extended palms that fell from his shoulders and you trembled.
"I'll teach you. And then you'll stay. Will you?", he said and you nodded. You wanted him. And you knew that you would do anything to keep him alive and by your side and he, you. And if you didn't have to worry with him getting stares and whispers or you having to juggle to pay bills then it's all the better for you.
He put his katana back on it's sheath, suddenly taking you by the hand and pulling you towards the door of the room.
"Last Boss", you asked and he paused to look back at you like you had sang with the voice of a thousand angels. "Where are we going?". He leaned over until his nose brushed yours.
"I'm introducing you to my tattoo artist".

having some feelings about Joe Chill in this Chili's tonight.
I often hate how Joe Chill and the Wayne murders are handled, specifically when it's part of some bigger grand scheme as opposed to just a regular everyday mugging and how that relates to Bruce as a character. I feel like something is lost when Thomas and Martha are killed because of some conspiracy or whatever. I think it takes away from one of the core reasons why Bruce became Batman in the first place.
like it's supposed to be a random act of senseless violence! not some huge conspiracy with a secret group controlling Gotham or because of some mob connection. I don't want Joe Chill to be in the Court of Owls or be a Talon or a hired hit-man or to be a mob boss or or or
I think Joe Chill works best as a character and plot device when he is simply a guy who needed some quick cash and robbed the first wealthy people he saw. (maybe killing them was an accident or maybe he did mean to kill all three but didn't realize that he didn't have enough bullets for Bruce. idk haven't figured that part out yet)
it doesn't have to be any more grand than that!
Bruce became Batman so that he could stop random acts of violence from tearing families apart. so that no one else has to watch their loved ones get murdered right in front of them.
that is the core of what he does and why he does it.
making his parents be the target of the Owls or the mob or whatever kind of takes that away imo.
AND ANOTHER THING
I don't like when stories have Bruce figure out who killed his parents. I like it to be a mystery! I like the irony of Bruce being the World's Greatest Detective but the one case he can't solve is his own.
the irony! the drama! the frustration! the feelings of inadequacy!
he keeps going back to the case. HIS case. trying to find new leads, new evidence, new anything. but there is none! because there was no rhyme or reason to the killings. it was just some guy who needed money. and that could be anyone.
I feel like Bruce never being able to find the guy who killed his parents would actually be better for his character growth than if he ever was able to confront Joe Chill. it would push him harder to want to be a better detective. it would give him more drive! like yeah I do want him to have some closure and some solace but I also have a lot of feelings about his pursuit of finding his parents killer being ultimately fruitless and bleak.
it could also add a layer to his relationship with his kids, specifically the ones who also have murdered parents. but the thing is, all them who have dead parents know who the killers were. there's no mystery to who killed Dick's parents, or Jason's parents, or Tim's parents. Bruce can relate to them all for having murdered parents but he can't relate to actually having that closer of Who Did It.
it's what drives him to help Dick take down Tony Zucco. it's about the guilt he feels knowing his own friend Harvey Dent killed Jason's father. it's about how he couldn't save Sheila Haywood from the Joker along with Jason. it's about how Jack Drake was killed by a villain that Bruce easily would have taken down had he been there. it's about how he couldn't actually save any of his kids bio parents but has solace knowing that at least they won't lie awake at night wondering who it was that killed them like he's done every single damn day since he was eight years old.
does anyone else have as many thoughts and feelings about Joe Chill as I do???
this post was brought to you by my long tags on this post.

Tumblr media
Kim Seokjin:
Spinning his signature pen effortlessly between his fingers, Jin glared at the city skyline ahead, the huge glass windows of his office showing him his angry expression. A frown marred his forehead, his eyes drowning in annoyance and irritation at another late-night meeting which could have been over by now, had his rival gang’s boss, Song Mujin, decided to come on time. But of course, it was Jin’s destiny to be dealing with a bunch of lousy beer-bellied old men for the rest of his life.
Or so he thought.
“Sir, someone’s here,” informed one of Jin’s bodyguards, making the mafia lord raise his hand as a gesture of acknowledgment after releasing a relieved sigh from his lips. If the meeting went well and Mujin decided to back off without a fight, then Jin would be able to go home soon, and honestly, going to bed was the only thing even minutely exciting in his life at the moment.
Sometimes, he did feel lonely laying on the cold sheets and coming home to an empty space but that's just how his life had been for a while. If it got too much, he hooked up with random women to fill the void in his heart, pretending that things weren't just going to end in one night. But who was he kidding?
Shaking his head, Jin heard the door of his cabin open, light footsteps padding in and making him clench his jaw, holding himself back from blowing Song Mujin's head off.
“Time is precious in our line of work, Song. I thought you-” Jin began, spinning his plush chair around only to halt abruptly, his eyes narrowing down on the attractive female that stood on the other side of his table, clearly expecting an old man who brought along with him the stench of cigarettes and alcohol. But no, you were far too different from the man he had seen before and that was enough for Jin’s lips to part in curiosity.
You smelled of all things sweet and enchanting, a graceful smile tainting your red lips as if you knew exactly what you were doing to him, his throat running dry at the very sight of your body which was outlined perfectly in a dress that was certainly ideal for him to be ripping off of you.
With all these thoughts running in his head, Jin refused to believe that you were here to meet him. Because a beauty like you didn’t belong in work as dirty as his.
“I apologize, Mr. Kim. I wasn’t informed about this meeting until I was out attending a party.” You explained, taking a seat opposite him as Jin was pulled out from his trail of thoughts by your mellow voice, your nails tapping against the table in anticipation of his response.
Party. That explains the dress.
“And who are you?” Jin asked, willing himself to sound authoritative and angry, just like the image he held in the public eye. Glancing around the room to take a look at the number of guards surrounding you, you shifted in your seat before focusing your attention back on the big bad boss.
“My father couldn’t be here due to an emergency. I hope that answers your question,” You stated, your eyes sparkling with an intensity that screamed danger and poise as if challenging Jin to counter you for not being who he was expecting you to be. And challenge you did, watching the color drain from his face even if it was just for a fraction of a second, making way for a smirk to grace your lips.
As soon as the words left your mouth, Jin just couldn't bring himself to accept them. He couldn't accept the fact that you were that lousy bastard's daughter. Now, he couldn't be nice to you. You were the rival's daughter after all. So pushing away the warmth he had embraced upon seeing your pretty face and your pretty smile, Jin morphed it all into bitterness, watching you frown at the sudden change in his demeanor.
“So daddy’s little girl is here to do what? Beg for his life?” Jin mocked, making all the guards laugh at the joke their boss had cracked. Insulted and angry, the smirk was wiped from your face as soon as it had appeared, a frown pulling at your eyebrows as your fingers pulled out the knife from the belt tightened around your thigh underneath your dress.
“The name’s Y/N, and you’re right, beg someone will. But it won’t be me,”
Within a blink, you were across the table, pressing the knife against Kim Seokjin’s throat with your other hand holding onto the back of his leather chair, your eyes burning with rage at his insult, his stupidly handsome face somehow making you feel hot all over due to the proximity.
“Out!” Jin barked, his eyes flitting between yours and your lips, feeling your breath fan over his face as your chest heaved. He was mad, beyond mad that you dared to attack him in his own office. But at the same time, the fire in your eyes was immensely hot, his heart wanting to burn in it altogether.
“We’ll see about that, sweetheart,” watching confusion wash over you, Jin took this chance to grab your wrist and twist it around behind your back, his hand holding the back of your neck and pushing your cheek to lay flat against the cool surface of the table. Refusing to give up, you prepared to kick him in his balls but he was quicker, pushing his thigh between your legs before you could even bring yourself to react. You gasped at the position you both had ended up in, your dress riding up your thighs and making your cheeks flush as you closed your eyes in shame.
Jin leaned down until his chin grazed the skin of your back, goosebumps rising on your skin as he let go of your neck and pushed your hair to one side. His eyes had grown darker upon seeing you beneath him, bent over his table with your thighs desperately trying to clench shut together. He was enjoying this, enjoying the power he held over you. Only if he could do all the things he was currently thinking about.
“You were saying something, weren’t you, Y/N?” He whispered in your ear, making you shiver in response as his free hand ran across your exposed thighs until it reached the thigh garter that had held your knife. Feeling the burn right after the garter was ripped away from your skin, you inhaled sharply, hearing the leather being tossed to the floor.
“You see, sweetheart, you can’t do that again. Because if you do,” Jin continued to stroke your thigh, pushing your dress further up and making you whimper in response, “I’ll make sure you’re really begging.”
Leaving you flustered, Jin let go of you, stepping back as he realized just how far he’d end up taking things if you didn’t leave right now. Sure, there was no harm in taking you right here on his table, but with a girl like you, he wanted to take his time. He wanted you to come to him, needing him, wanting him.
He wanted you to want him. And he was going to make sure that you gave him what he wanted.
Feeling the cold air hit your back, you stood up straight immediately, turning around to face the man who you were sure was the devil himself. Clenching your jaw, you stomped away from him and towards the double doors, your fingers wrapping around the handle as you wondered if you were mad that he had stopped or that he had insulted you. A part of you screamed that it was the former but there was no way you were going to accept that. How could you want a man who was a threat to your father?
Shaking your head, you opened the door, looking over your shoulder when you heard Jin call you right as you stepped out.
“Next time that I see you, my love, let's finish what we started."
Kim Namjoon:
“Let go of me, you entitled bastard!” You screamed, banging your fists against Namjoon’s back, watching his feet appear and disappear from your sight as he stepped out of the elevator and into his penthouse with you thrown over his shoulder, your neck craning up as you struggled to take in the sight of his home that was soon going to be yours. It was grand, looking over the city with a huge balcony, the black interiors all up to your taste.
Well, at least you’ll have a gorgeous house.
Huffing in frustration, you clenched your jaw, recalling the fact that this man who had the audacity to drag you out of that club when you were so close to getting dicked down was soon going to be your husband, the thought of marrying your father’s biggest rival not sitting well with you. You didn’t even understand why he said yes to marrying you, seeing as Kim Namjoon had absolutely no reason to strengthen his front. Because he was the only man in the entire country who was capable of single-handedly destroying the lives of as many as he wished.
And yet you went around trying to piss him off.
Preparing your fist to land another blow to his back, you felt a hand slap your ass, a squeak leaving your mouth as your lips parted in surprise, your cheeks burning in shame, and your heart rate spiking up at the sudden intrusive action.
“I am entitled to doing whatever I wish to do with you. Now, shut the fuck up before you make things worse for yourself, baby.”
His velvety voice and the endearment had you pressing your thighs together, his threatening and angry tone getting you excited even though your conscience refused to accept the fact that you had purposely ticked Namjoon off by making out with a stranger at a random club. Because you wanted this. Because you wanted to know he wanted you just like you wanted him and that your marriage was not going to be tasteless and boring with him ignoring you for his work.
“Oh? What did you wish to do to me that was so important?” You challenged, watching his living room fall below you as he ascended the steps to what you assumed was the floor where his room was situated, ”What was so important that you had to cock-block me?”
Your words seemed to have had the opposite effect, Namjoon’s laughter echoing through the silence of his home and making you wonder if you had said the right thing. His body shook under you as his laugh turned bitter and harsh, your eyes widening at the feel of his fingers digging into your thighs as he dragged them up until your dress moved up and above your hip to reveal your red lacy underwear.
“Cock-block? Did I hear you right, baby?” He taunted, taking a handful of your ass and squeezing it harshly while you struggled to keep yourself from moaning, resorting to biting the back of your hand instead. Before you could compose yourself and send another snarky remark, you were thrown onto a soft surface, your body bouncing on Namjoon’s bed as you took in the black silk bed sheets that you now lay upon.
“You’re such a handful, Y/N, running off to get fucked by some incompetent excuse of a man and then having the audacity to run that filthy mouth of yours.” He said calmly, taking off his blazer to reveal a black shirt that adorned his toned body perfectly. The sight of his biceps flexing as he rolled his sleeves up made your mouth water, his expensive watch glinting at you along with the couple rings that hugged his fingers. None of this was helping the ache that settled between your legs, your throat running dry as Namjoon’s eyes raked over your body with an icy glare.
"Now what should I do with you?" He tsked, tilting his head and placing his hands on his hips, the silver chain he always wore glinting in the dimness of the room. You reminded yourself to breathe, wanting nothing more than to just spread your legs and beg him to do whatever he pleased. But you couldn't do that. Not when you had an image to maintain.
The image of a rich mafia's spoilt daughter.
Inhaling deeply, you locked your eyes with his, getting off of his bed and walking towards him with sway in your hips, the sound of your heels hitting the floor resounding through the heavy silence. Stopping before him, you let your palms rest against his shoulders, slowly dragging them across his defined chest and feeling the tough muscles underneath your fingertips. Smiling innocently, you leaned forward and kissed his jaw, the scent of his cologne intoxicating you and making your knees shiver in weakness but you carried on. Littering slow kisses across his jaw, you reached his ear, biting on his earlobe softly before whispering sensually.
"Fuck. Off."
With that, you shoved him away, watching in amusement as his eyes narrowed with rage. Turning on your heel, you briskly walked to leave his room, hearing his heavy footsteps right behind you before his hand wrapped around your wrist and he slammed you against the nearest wall so that your back was pressed against his front.
"Namjoon-"
"You think you're so fucking smart, baby." He hissed in your ear, holding your hips harshly and pushing your ass against his hard-on, which only told you how big he was. You couldn't help but mewl at the contact, biting your bottom lip harshly so as to not give him the satisfaction of watching you beg for him. With your hair being pushed to one side, you felt a cool metal dragging against your skin, your pussy only aching more at the realization that it was a small knife. Even though you should have been scared, you weren't, having been a prisoner of danger your entire life.
"What are you doing?" You whispered, feeling his hot breath against the bare skin of your shoulder, contrasting with the cold knife and making you shiver.
"Taming a brat," with that, you felt the thin strap of your halter neck fall apart, the front of your dress loosening and threatening to expose all of you before you clutched it in your hand. Suddenly, he moved away from you, the heat of his body no more embracing you and leaving you to stand there against the wall, motionless and with your hand tightly holding onto the front of your dress.
"Turn around," Came his voice, your feet having a mind of their own as you slowly turned around with your back now pressing against the wall. You couldn't even bring yourself to look at him, your eyes trained onto the floor till he moved closer to you and placed his fingers below your chin, pushing it up to have you lock eyes with him.
The very sight of you standing before him was enough to make Namjoon breathless, his cock twitching in the confines of his pants as he devoured you with hungry eyes. Right from that stupid meeting, he had noticed you. He had noticed every inch of you and had wanted nothing more to make you belong to him. You were the definition of a goddess, so pretty and so feisty, knowing exactly what you deserve because why else would you, so desperately, want him?
He knew all your little games, knew exactly why you went to the club. Maybe it was his fault for not giving you any attention even after you were set to marry him but he couldn't let you know how weak you made him feel. In a true sense, he felt so vulnerable around you, wanting to worship you day and night, for as long as you needed him.
"Let go." He demanded, leaning closer and closer till his lips brushed against yours, his eyes now hooded with lust and need, just like yours. Letting his hand wrap around your neck, he squeezed lightly, watching your glossy lips part in surprise and dying to taste them.
"I said, let go, baby." He repeated rather harshly, watching your dress fall to the floor as you finally let go of the material like he had asked you to. Taking in the sight of your body, Namjoon couldn't help but let out a low growl, a whimper leaving your lips in response as you felt yourself grow wetter and wetter with every passing second.
"You asked me what was so important, didn't you?" Namjoon questioned, breathlessly watching the way you attempted to push your body against his, his free hand caressing your curves and moving down until it reached the waistband of your panties.
"What's important is that," pushing his hand under the flimsy material, he cupped your heat, cursing upon feeling how wet you were, "this belongs to me."
You let out a cry, his fingers dipping into your folds to graze at your clit, your legs parting on their own to give your man what he owned. Maneuvering your lips onto his, Namjoon drank in all your moans, your hands gripping his collar tightly as you struggled to stand with his tongue licking into every corner of your mouth. Parting himself from you briefly, he watched your blown-out expression as he slipped a finger in you, his chest swelling with pride upon seeing you writhe against him.
"Just me."
Kim Taehyung:
With a subtle ache in your heart, you tore your gaze away from him, fear settling deep in you on what would happen if anyone saw you looking at him like he had put the stars up in the sky, your fingers tightening around the flute glass as you sipped at the expensive champagne being served around like it was no big deal. The lights shining down upon you from the huge chandeliers were quite the opposite of how you felt on the inside, the only calmness in your storm being offered by the fact that it was his, Kim Taehyung’s birthday today, and he seemed to be happy about it.
Without you.
Swallowing thickly, you let your eyes wander off to the other side of the ballroom once again, your heart sinking in your chest as you saw him kissing the back of a woman’s hand, his eyes glimmering with nothing but content while you sat here suffocating in your own skin. Every passing second was growing unbearable and all you wanted to do was leave. But you couldn’t because you were here for your father who wanted you to find out how much money Taehyung was paying for the deal with a prominent smuggler who was making noise in the community. And as much as you hated the fact that your father was Taehyung’s biggest rival, you couldn’t do anything but settle for the secret meetings you had with your lover whenever you could, tangling your soul with his until you had to be back to assist your father in his violent crimes.
Turns out your gaze wasn’t as secretive as you had thought, Taehyung’s eyes meeting your own shortly after you had begun to wallow in self-pity upon seeing his interaction with all the women who were visibly drooling over him while all you did was sit there and watch. His gaze was unwavering, a frown settling on his forehead as he caught sight of your teary eyes, all his attention driving away from his guests and focusing on you. It made you feel even worse, a tear slipping down your cheek before you quickly wiped it away and swallowed the rest of your champagne in one go, your feet hurrying to pull you out of the room and away from his worried gaze that did nothing but make you feel more helpless than you already were.
Exiting the party, you found yourself walking down a long corridor aimlessly, looking for a place where you could just sit and breathe before catching sight of a small balcony that looked down upon a rather pretty little garden, your hand unlocking the huge glass doors and stepping out into the cold night. Goosebumps littered your skin as you rubbed your arms in an effort to generate heat, your lips letting out a relieved sigh as you rested your palms against the stone railing surrounding you.
The moon was in its full glory tonight, making you feel slightly more calm and composed enough to deal with the inner turmoil that had been eating away at your rationality. It wasn’t just a simple conflict that you had housed, it was the most difficult one you had ever come across and coming up with a solution for it was going to be just as difficult. Because, how were you supposed to choose between a man you loved and your own father?
According to your conscience, the answer was simple. Your father did not love you, not for a second. In fact, he thought you were a disgrace, hoping he was given a son instead. For the entirety of your life, you had worked only to please him. You had done everything you disliked, from going to exchange drugs at a dingy little bar to killing someone, you had done all of it. It made you feel like a monster, snipping away at the happiness of other people just so you could hear your father praise you, something that was impossible.
On the other hand, Taehyung loved you for you. Ever since he had saved you from the hands of some man who had decided killing you was enough to make your father hurt, Taehyung had seen the real you. He had seen the shaking hands as you pulled a gun at the crazed man, had seen the conflict in your eyes and the sheer unwillingness to kill somebody. And above all, he had seen the girl who was tired of fighting and just wanted to hide in the arms of someone who was willing to fight for her. All his love and affection wasn’t forced, it simply came to him without you having to become someone you weren’t.
Suddenly, you felt two large hands wrap around your frame, a gasp leaving your mouth before you took notice of the numerous fancy rings adorning the said hands’ fingers. A gush of warmth washed over you, your heart skipping a beat at the realization that you now stood in your lover’s arms, his lips pressing a gentle kiss to the side of your head as you closed your eyes and let yourself melt into him.
"Someone could see us," you pointed out softly, your voice a whisper against the silence of the night. There was fear at the back of your head, what would happen if someone saw the two of you like this? Word traveled fast in your world, your own father had informants everywhere and you were aware of that. Putting Taehyung's life in danger was the last thing you wanted to do, clearly underestimating just how powerful he was.
“You’re sad,” Taehyung stated, catching you off guard and dodging your words. This was an unwarranted response to your question, your chest aching upon knowing that your lover did not care about anything else if you were sad. He prioritized you always. And you knew he would also continue to do so for as long as the two of you were together.
"It's nothing," you replied vaguely, hoping that he would let it go but who were you kidding? This was your Taehyung, who had proved to you time and again that he would burn this entire world down if something was hurting you. He didn't care. He just didn't. In fact, if he could, he would also get rid of your shitty excuse of a father, the only thing stopping him being his own respect towards you. But you knew that the second you told him to do it, he would without any hesitation.
So maybe you should tell him.
Frowning at the voice of your conscience, you didn't notice Taehyung turning you around to face him, your dull eyes locking onto his own worried ones. You hated that he had to think about you even when it was his birthday, all because you and your stupid feelings just couldn't be at peace. It made you feel greedy and selfish at how you always wanted more when it came to him, especially when you should consider your current situation a blessing given your circumstances. He was here before you, alive and breathing. And that should be enough.
"I saw you crying," he confessed, placing his hands on your cheeks, "if it made you cry then it's everything."
Feeling your chest tighten, your lips began to quiver, your eyes finding it too embarrassing to keep looking at him when you were about to burst out crying. So, your arms found their way around his waist, your head falling against his chest as you closed your eyes and felt his arms wrap around you like a shield.
Taehyung frowned at your actions, sadness filling every part of him as he rested his chin on top of your head, his arms holding you tighter when he heard your soft sniffles, your attempt at hiding your tears failing inevitably. There was a subtle pain in his chest, making him wonder how it was possible for a man like him to feel so passionately for someone who was the complete opposite of him. With you, Taehyung’s heart ached, telling him that he was a warm shell of a human even if it was just for you. With you, Taehyung’s hands hesitated before pulling the trigger on someone he didn’t even know. With you, Taehyung’s mind, body, and soul kept him awake at night, reminding him that now he had someone to lose sleep over.
In all honesty, before you, Taehyung didn’t even think he was missing something. He simply went on with his life, ignoring any and every emotion that he felt because he just didn’t know how to deal with it. Accepting life as it is was the only thing he thought he could do. But when he met you, everything hit him all at once. All at once, he realized he was lonely and he needed someone to love. And he needed someone to love him for the monster he was.
“I want to be with you,” came your voice, warming Taehyung’s heart as you lifted your head up and rested your chin against his chest, your teary eyes reflecting the brightest of the stars, making your lover think he just fell in love all over again.
“You are with me, baby,” Taehyung replied, brushing your hair away from your face and leaning down to rest his forehead against yours. Drowning in affection, you found yourself feeling breathless, your arms snaking around Taehyung’s neck, feeling the velvet of his suit against your skin. Standing on your tip-toes, you slowly pressed your lips against his, your eyes closing upon feeling his fingers entangled in your hair.
Suddenly, everything felt perfect, only the sound of the soft breeze dancing around the two of you with your mind letting go of all the worries you had even if it was just for a moment. You felt happy in your safe place, feeling like you belonged because you really did. There was nowhere else you’d rather be, smiling into the kiss when Taehyung pulled you flush against him, feeling the need to become one with you.
And you were going to make sure that happened.
Pulling away, you opened your eyes to glance at his, shivers running down your spine at the desperation swimming in Taehyung’s eyes. His hands ran down your sides, his head burying itself in the crook of your neck while his lips littered your skin with kisses. You gasped softly, feeling him bite down on your skin, definitely trying to stop himself from marking you but he couldn’t. He wanted the world to know how much he loved you. And most importantly, he wanted your father to know that Kim Taehyung wanted his daughter. And you wanted him too.
“I’m gonna take you home with me. Wanna spend tonight with you,” Taehyung murmured against your skin, pushing you against the railing and making you tilt your head only to leave open-mouthed kisses against the newfound skin. Moaning softly, you pulled at his soft strands, your whole body hot under his touch and just begging to be devoured by him.
“Taehyung-”
“Just tonight, Y/N,” he cut you off, his eyes now pleading with you to let him spend his birthday with the woman he was so in love with.
Caressing his cheek, you smiled your warmest smile, making Taehyung frown at the way your eyes seemed relieved like you had nothing else to worry about anymore.
Like you had made up your mind about something.
Before Taehyung could question you, the words had fallen from your lips, rendering Taehyung speechless beyond comprehension.
“Not just tonight, Tae. I’ve decided to not go back to him.”
Pulling further away to get a better look at your expression, Taehyung concluded that you were most definitely not joking, his heart fluttering at the fact that he could call you his without giving a damn about anyone else in the world.
“Are you sur-”
“I love you so much that it hurts me to hide it all the time,” You stated, a sad frown taking over your features as you took Taehyung’s hands in yours, placing his palm against your cheek and gazing at him with the most loving eyes he had ever seen.
“I’ll be with you for as long as you’ll be with me.”
