"Ingo and Emmet talk after he explains where he was for the last few years"
Hello again! This is a small one shot that I wrote a long time ago and only now edited and cleaned it up so I could post it 😅
The bootleg merch mention comes from a convo that happened at @evtraininguniversity 's tumblr, here's a part of it but there was a lot more talked about at the time!!! Also go read Ev's stuff if you haven't already, she's great!!!
Either way, enjoy!!!
“Ok. Let me see if I got it. You still don’t know exactly how, but you were thrown in the past.”
“Correct.”
“Of another region entirely.”
“Right again.”
“Somehow you lost your memories in the way there.”
“Hm hm.”
“So you lived there, until a random kid brought Arceus to you and he gave you your memory back.”
“Yup.”
“And then, with your memory back, you asked to be sent back here after saying your goodbyes.”
“You are a very good listener, Emmet.”
“Shut the fuck up, this is the most bizarre thing you’ve ever told me and yet I have no better explanation. I could say that the old timey clothes you got in a museum or from reenactors, the destruction to your uniform from living in the wild for years, but how the fuck else would you get those extinct pokémon?”
“Guess you’ll have to believe me, then, asshole.”
“I didn’t say I didn’t want to, but you are talking about fucking Arceus, over here.”
“I guess that is fair, I had the same reaction before seeing the supposed creator with my own eyes.”
“Calling him “supposed” wouldn’t be heresy, then?”
“I fought him and won, I don’t care.”
“You fought him without me?!”
“I knew you would say that, so technically they owe me for the mess they put me through, I didn’t want to go to Hisui but apparently I had to, because technically that had already happened? Something about time paradoxes. Regardless, their influence made sure that no one connected my image in the history books with Subway Boss Ingo, so no one would alert you or try to get me back before I was supposed to return. I didn’t choose any of that, though, so after winning I got them to agree to fight you too, next time we played the Azure Flute in Spear Pillar.”
Emmet punched the air in excitement. He had the look he always did when going through strategies on his head, until a thought made him get back on track.
“Right, so, assuming you really did spend these last three years in ancient Sinnoh,” Ingo huffs in amusement at his brother persistent disbelief, “does that mean you know why they don’t have a rail system?”
That grabs his attention and suddenly he is furious.
“Professor Laventon kept making incredible remarks about trains and how helpful they are, I added my own agreement and yet! The construction corps were so prideful! They didn’t want to look into the system to see if they could adopt it as well! They kept saying that those “metal beasts” could not be safe!” His hands in constant movement, following his rage. “And now, the kid that helped me, told me that they have been starting construction in Jubilife City and that Sinnoh now regrets how long it took to adopt the rail system!”
“Oh, I did hear news of that a few years ago, I had bigger worries then.”
That gave Ingo’s rage pause.
“I’m sorry, Emmet, I wish-“
“Nope! Can’t change the past, it is what it is, do not go down those tracks.”
“Did your therapist tell you that?”
“More like he drilled it into my head.”
“I’m happy to hear it.”
“We can talk about me later. Don’t give me that look, I know I can’t avoid your older brother tendencies forever. But, that is why you want to go back there, then? You want to supervise the construction?”
“I don’t want to go back exactly, I want to give them our expertise on the subject, we might not have started the subway and train systems in Unova but we did expand on it. I also can not say I told you so to Kamado, so I want to do that to the closest descendent of his that I can find.”
“You are such a petty bitch sometimes.”
“Go fuck yourself, Emmet.”
Despite the jabs, that were all friendly at the end of the day, Ingo loved listening to his brother snickering laugh. Oh, how he missed his favorite problem while walking through the vast expanse of Hisui.
"Oh, and before I forget, I did get something in Hisui that reminded me of you." He leaned over the arm of the couch to reach the basket he had brought with him. "Emmet, I want you to meet Impostermet. I hope you two will play nicely."
Emmet left a bark of a laugh, he couldn't believe that, depite being stuck in the past, his brother was still able to find their bootleg merch.
"Impostergo is a part of a set now! I can not believe you, Ingo!"
"Since we're already on the subject, you didn't burn The Blanket, did you?"
"I think Crustle found it in a day he was very mad and it became rags, sadly, you can find my teeth around the house, I use it to clean."
"That's a terrifying sentence Emmet."
"You have no one to blame but yourself. I never told you to buy that fucking monstrosity in the first place."
"Oh, how terrible my brother is, I buy a gift of his likeness to bestow upon him and that's how he thanks me."
"If I wasn't so happy to have you back I would fucking kill you right now."
"As if you ever could, I'm the bigger twin after all."
"We're identical, you fuck!"
And that's how they ended up wrestling on the floor of their living room, Ingo having his brother in a headlock while Emmet kicked and refused to surrender. Eelektross glared at his trainer and his brother's antics, before giving a slight shock to the pile of squirming limbs, making them release each other with pained yelps.
"Eelektross is right, we have far more important things to do."
"Eelektross is always right! He is the best boy! We need to go to a police station and then do a looooot of paperwork to prove you're alive and to get you your job back."
"Maybe I should have stayed in Hisui."
"Oh no, you're not running away from the paperwork!"
"I think I can hear Sneasler calling me, Emmet, I have to go."
"Come back here, Ingo!"
"Well, who arrives first at the station is free from paperwork!"
"You're already at the door, that's not fair! Ingo! Ingo, stop!"
The twins should be thankful that their pokemon were as intelligent as they were, Chandelure stopped the siblings using psychic, while bringing them back to get their pokeballs and properly lock the door, before they actually teared down the streets, throwing quips at each other and laughing until they were red in the face. They tied at the end, as Emmet saw Ingo was about to win, and decided to tackle his brother inside the station, making them end up crossing the threshold at the same time. Ingo could only wheeze as his brother fell on top of him and crushed all of his precious organs, only moving when the depot agents came over, helping them stand up and properly welcoming back the siblings to their home, finally together once more.

Pyramid Head thoughts 2🩸🔪 △
MORE PYRAMID HEAD BRAINROT WOOHOOO— Hell yeah brother. Anyways OH MY GOD I was getting pissed off from this app bc I couldn’t edit this when I had it in my drafts for some strange reason BUT IT’S ALL WORKING FINE NOW. Yay. I’ve also been slowly chipping away at my Pyramid Head x reader recently for the past few weeks and it’s coming along smoothly (surprisingly), hopefully today or so it’ll all be finished and I can polish it for any mistakes or typos I accidentally made then it’ll be tossed onto AO3. :))))))
Tumblr media
It’s difficult having to be roaming about Silent Hill knowing that he now has a companion of his own to keep company in this shit hole, it’s a nice thought but now there’s the hassle with keeping an eye on you at all times.
Man loves you but you gotta fuckin’ STOP disappearing from his sight whenever he looks away from you.
Stop getting into trouble damnit it’s a good thing he’d been stalking you the whole time but seriously you’re gonna give him a tiny heart attack if you keep doing this. >:(
This is why he ends up having to carry you around wherever he goes because you can’t slip out from his grasp and it’s easier this way to prevent you from running off.
Honestly, whenever Pyramid Head’s injured he’s not even gonna understand why you’re looking like you’re on the verge of bawling your eyes out.
‘Tis but a flesh wound’
But he’ll play along anyways if you were really worried and wanted to help him with injuries.
And he obviously enjoys the attention from you. :))
Cuddles 24/7, if you’re tired just take a break someplace safe and he’ll let you curl up in a ball in his hold, bc he absolutely adores having you in his arms.
Despite Pyramid Head not able to talk at all he does like hearing some of your rambles from time to time considering you’re the most talkative one between the both of you.
Pyramid Head likes giving you some small shiny little trinkets every now and then as small presents, bc you’re his and why the hell not shower you with some things every now and then?? He would’ve come back from patrolling around the town with some things like quarters, some pieces of jewelry, or weird little trinkets like teeth or small animal skulls, and those kinds of things if you’re into that.
He also likes receiving a few small gifts from you every now and then as well. Small things like little paper cranes or also some weird little trinkets you’ve been finding around Silent Hill, mainly bones, and you would craft into little charms. Gifts from either him or you would’ve all went into some ragged satchel you found so you could carry them with you at all times and you wouldn’t lose them.

strawberry | John Price
summary: price gets you to use your safe word
warnings: rough sex, choking, biting, spanking, overstimulation, public oral (male receiving), slapping(mentions of blood). just like really aggressive John until the end where we get soft core John, not edited bc of how much I wrote so, ignore and possible typos PLZ
Price was always pretty rough with you during sex. but never enough to make you cry like he did tonight. he was a whole new person, new man. and all it took was the teasing at dinner with his family to set him off.
it started off light. pulling your dress down in the car, showing off the top of your boobs. of course, you played dumb, apologizing and saying 'I didn't know'. at first he had fallen for it, saying he wouldn't mind if you kept it that way. but then, you got more bold and cocky. under the dinner table, your hand found its place on his pants, right where his dick rested so peacefully. his eyes that were once on the menu were now on your innocent ones. "is everything alright?" his mother asked. John smiled and nodded, a small chuckle leaving his lips. "yes she just looks so pretty tonight doesn't she? cant keep my eyes off her." he smiled, looking back down at you.
the rest of the dinner you got progressively more cocky. to the point his dick was now out, resting in your warm hand. his parents talked about John's passion for the military, how he'd been dedicated to it his whole life. all while your hand played with his tip, squeezing it ever so gently. his hand was quick to find your thigh, gripping it firmly. thankfully, the cloth was enough to cover his lower half and yours, but the thrill of it all was still very much there. when the waiter had came by, you smoothly let his girth go, using the table cloth to cover his hard on. you smirked at the tiny wet circle that appeared onto the cloth right where his tip was.
when his parents were deep into the menu, the waiter helping them with choosing what to eat, John leaned down to your ear and whispered, "keep this up I promise you'll regret it. don't test me lovie." he smiled down at you before turning back to his parents. you pressed your thighs together, smiling softly to yourself. this was exactly what you wanted from him.
his dick remained out for the rest of the dinner, your hand occasionally reaching down and giving it a firm grab, surprising him each time. by the time dinner was done, he had come close to finishing at least 3 times, always flicking your hand away. he was good at keeping his moans and groans suppressed (public sex was something you both had often), but when he'd cum that was a whole different situation.
"well it was lovely seeing you both tonight. we should do this more often." you smiled to his parents as John tried to put his throbbing dick back into his pants. "it was. thank you for inviting us out. hopefully next time we do meet you both will tell us your pregnant." his mom winked, standing from the table. you blushed and looked at John who's eyes were already staring at you. " who knows mom. you might get lucky real soon." he said, his eyes remaining on yours.
the car ride was silent. you were excited but also a bit nervous about what he had in store. of course, you had a feeling it would be nothing short of amazing. "I had fun with your parents." you said as he pulled to a red light. he shifted his whole body to you, tilting his head to the side. "really? seems you had too much fucking fun." he said, his deep voice suddenly turning into a threatening tone. you shifted in your seat, a proud smile still plastered across your face. "I did. you didnt?" you asked innocently, batting your eye lashes.
before he could respond the light turned green. he shifted back to his original position, driving off quickly. his driving got you both home within 10 minuets, and he was quick to get out the car, slamming the door behind him. he walked over to your side, opening the door and helping you out. it was dark outside, about 9:30 at night. the only light that lit the street was the porch lights on each house.
when he had helped you out fully, he quickly dragged you to the front of the car, shoving you down. you gasped at the pain of your knees and the cement, looking up at him. " John that fucking-" his hand came crashing across your face, gripping your chin so you'd look back up at him. "think I fucking care after that shit you pulled at dinner?" he growled, his grip on your chin growing firmer. you looked up at him, smiling innocently. " I was just having fun tho." you said softly, fingers playing with the ends of his pants.
he growled and let your face go, going to his pants buckle while keeping eye contact. "wanna play silly little games like that, okay. lets play." he gripped your hair at the top of your head, forcing your head back. you gasped at the sudden tug, biting your lip at the same time. "open." he said, gripping his dick with his other hand, jerking it off in front of you. "but captain were outside" you smirked, only teasing him more. "stop fucking playing with me. open your goddam mouth." he growled, tugging your hair. you whimpered at the pain, but ultimately opened your mouth. he wasted no time shoving his dick down your throat, your hands immediately going to his thighs to keep balance.
" s..shit. this what you wanted, hm? just needed my dick down your fucking throat." he growled, pulling his hips back before moving them back onto your face. you were unable to even say anything, but the way you nodded slowly as best you could, he smiled down at you. it was so thrilling, getting your face fucked outside in public. the way he looked down at you with such admiration, his dick repeatedly hitting the back of your throat, just to slide back out again.
he pulled your head back a bit more, your head resting on the front bumper of the car now. that same hand rested onto the car hood, his other on your shoulder. "g..gonna fuck that throat faster. bet you want that huh?" he groaned, his hips moving faster. his head fell back, grip on your shoulder tightening. to be honest, John had never gone this far with face fucking. he was pretty gentle when it came to head. sex, no, but when you gave him head it was never something that he forced upon you or was super rough with. he let you take your time, breaks whenever you needed. he was patient. but not tonight and it was definitely something you had to get used to.
your drool practically poured out your mouth, his dick slippery with your saliva. the mix of his pre cum and your saliva made it even easier for his throat to slide down your throat, and it was a feeling he wanted to keep on feeling. tears poured out your eyes the more rough he got with you, mascara running down your cheeks. and he loved it. "look do fucking gorgeous like this love. wanna fuck your face more." he moaned, watching his dick and a fuck ton of saliva come from your mouth as he pulled his dick out, sliding it back in to watch it all pool at the corners of your lips.
to be honest, it was a bit much. again, it was something neither of you had really experienced before. and as much as you tried to relax your throat, it was pretty hard because of how fast and rough he was getting. but when he whimpered out your name, head falling forward, mouth slightly agape, you couldnt give up. "gonna cum baby.. gonna cum down that tight fucking throat." he moaned, his had that was once on your shoulder cupping your cheek. you squeezed your eyes shut, whimpering around his dick. his body jerked forward, his body falling forward onto the hood of the car, his cum shooting down your throat.
he gasped, strained groans leaving him, his hips giving you small thrusts. "t-thats it baby.. fucking swallow.. all of it." he groaned, breathing heavily above you. you tried your best to swallow it all, only a bit seeping out of your lips. he slowly slid his dick out, strings of saliva, cum or even both connecting you both. shoving his soaked dick back in his pants, he looked down at you. your jaw hurt, lips too. you looked up at him, chest heaving up and down. "get the fuck up." he said, gripping your arm and pulling you up into his chest. he gdragged you to the front door, quickly opening the door and shoving you inside.
you had tripped, but ultimately kept your balance. his keys were thrown onto the mail table as he flicked the light on, making quick movements towards you. saliva was still smeared across your face, his cum too. but to say he cared would be a lie. his lips pressed firmly against yours, his tongue sliding in easily, his hand pressed to the back of your neck while his other gripped your ass. "couch. now" he said against your lips. you stumbled backwards, quickly making your way to the couch. despite your stumbling he walked towards you slowly, his head tilted to the side a small smirk plastered along his face. he loved the shy, kinda shocked version of you. he ate it up every time.
"wait." he said as you got to the couch. he walked in front of you, sitting down on the couch. he leaned back, man spreading before patting his lap. "lay." was all he said, eyes staring up at you. you hesitated but did as he asked, laying across his lap. he sighed, hand gripping your calf before moving his hand up your leg. "been so good for me so far. gonna keep being good?" he asked, gripping your thighs, your dress trailing up your body the farther his hand went. he loved your thighs. so much so he one night woke up and decided to fuck into them. pressed them together against your chest, ramming into them. it was hot how much he loved all the parts of your body you had always been insecure or less confident in. when his hands came to your ass, he smoothly slid your panties off and down your legs, tossing them beside him on the couch.
you nodded, throat still pretty sore to speak. but he wasn't going to have that. his hand came down on your ass harshly, your body jerking forward. but his actions after contradicted that, his hand rubbing on the red spot. " words princess. you know I dont like feeling ignored." he whispered, his other hand petting the top of your head soothingly. "y-yes" you croaked out, letting go of the breath you had no idea you were holding onto. " such a shame tho." he mumbled, his hand quickly coming back down harshly onto your ass. a pained whimper fell from you, your eyes squeezing shut, hands gripping the pillow right in front of your face. "you were acting like such a slut earlier. sluts get punished, dont they? especially my pretty little slut." he said, leaning down to your ear while his hand slapped another red spot onto your ass.
John had become a whole new person in the blink of an eye. first the face fucking, now the spanking. what was next? you weren't necessarily scared. but you were anxious. anxious about what he would do to you next. how far he'd take it. you were left in the dark. " teasing me in front of my parents. in public." slap. "bet you wanted me to cum under that table, didnt you?" another harsh slap. he watched how your ass jiggled after each hit, bitting his lip. he himself had no idea what came over him. at all. but he knew that he liked it. in fact, he loved it.
your ass was a bright red, stinging so badly the cold air didnt even help. in a way, it made it worse. tears once again didnt fail to brim your eyes, feeling more and more slaps hit your ass, the same spot each and every time. " P-price please" you cried out. but he was in a trance. he hated it, but deep down loved the way blood began to prickle up from the spot he was abusing. "so pretty.." he whispered, before leaning down, placing a small kiss onto the skin before gently biting the spot. you winced in pain, again digging your nails into the pillow.
he sighed, pulling you up by your waist, your knees digging into his thighs. "lay down baby.. gonna fuck that pretty little cunt." he whispered, holding your hips to help you lay down. once you were comfortable, back on the couch, he rose, pulling his pants off and down his body. his dick sprung out, pre cum leaking onto the floor in drops. you whimpered at the sight, your eyes shooting back up to his. " dont worry baby.. im gonna fuck you." he smirked, practically leaping over you. he leaned back down, lips meeting your slightly wet ones. your face, for the most part, was dry and crusty. but again, he didnt care. he'd been on the battle field with literal guts splattered everywhere. plus, it was his own cum on your face
his lips distracted you from his tip moving up your cunt, collecting all the slick you had. it was embarrassing, how much pain and embarrassment made you wet. you both had a wild side, but there were limits that you both hadn't yet reached, but tonight, he had decided it was time. and its not like you minded and your cunt was proof you didnt.
without warning, his dick pushed into you, a gasp coming from you that broke the kiss. his nose touched yours, his eyes looking down into your wide ones. " I know baby.. just relax. " he whispered, feeling you tighten around his dick. your hands found his shoulders, gripping them firmly as he bottomed out inside you. his forehead connected to yours, a deep sigh leaving him. he wasted little to no time in gripping your legs to wrap them around his waist, your bleeding ass cheek failing to not sting. he pulled out real slow before slamming back into you, going straight in for a faster pace.
your head pressed into the pillow, eyes squeezing shut. " fuck this cunt is so tight. so fucking... good." he groaned, his hands keeping his body up. he looked down, watching his dick slide in and out, the slick from your cunt forming strings. the sounds were sinful, the squelching of your wetness as his dick slammed into you. "j-john.. oh my god~" you whined, back arching up. he smirked down at you, one hand gripping your face. " keep those pretty eyes on me. wanna see your face while I fuck you senseless." he said, his voice deep and smooth like honey.
his tip was quick to hit your womb, the bulge in your stomach not going unnoticed. he moaned at the sight, biting his lip. " look at that. taking this dick so well. such a good slut for me, aren't you?" he cooed, watching it disappear and re appear over and over. you went cross eyes, mouth falling agape at how deep he was hitting into you. it was embarrassing, but you felt your first orgasm of the night hit you like a train. it was coming, and coming fast. he felt the way your cunt pulsed around him, and he chuckled, looking back up at you. "gonna cum already? better hold it. im not done with this little cunt." he said, his right hand going to your throat.
your gasped, hands gripping his wrists as his thrusts only got more and more rough. you couldnt hold back and he knew you couldnt. but he wanted that. he wanted you to cum, just so he could punish you for cumming. his eyes were saying it all, watching you with a small smirk on his lips, mocking you. the way he looked down at you, his thrusts hitting all the right spots in your cunt, you couldnt stop the knot in your stomach from coming loose. he smiled, looking down between you both to watch your cum pour out of you and coat his dick.
" tsk tsk.. being a bad girl again are we?" he chuckled, shaking his head. " I-i couldnt.. help it. im s..sorry" you whined, eyes pleading with his. but he didnt care. again, this is what he wanted. now he could punish you for it.
his hips didnt stop. in fact they sped up. he let go of your throat, that same hand finding your clit. " gonna cum again. and again. until I decide ive had enough of you. since that what you wanted to fucking bad, right?" he asked, watching his thumb play with your throbbing clit. you tried your hardest to pull away, but his other hand held your hips down. " stop fucking running. take what the fuck you deserve for being such a fucking cum slut." he growled, leaning farther over your body to hit deeper into your cunt.
your mouth fell agape once more, your hands digging into his shoulders. he moaned at the feeling, his head falling into your neck. his lips sucked onto your skin, leaving behind big, dark purple and red, bloody marks. his teeth sunk into your skin, feeling his orgasm approaching. " gonna cum in you. you want that, want me to fill you up with my cum? make you a mommy?" he moaned, his thumb still working on your clit. " y-yes.. fuck fill me with it John p..please" you moaned, hands finding the back of his head and running your fingers through his hair.
he moaned into your neck, giving you a few harsh thrust before small, cute little whimpers slipped past him. his cum shot deep into you, his teeth once again sinking into you. you cried out at the pain, the taste of blood dancing along his tongue. and when you though the was done, you felt his hips slamming back into you.
he leaned up off you, blood smeared on his bottom lip. his hair was a mess, bot from your fingers and his head moving against you as he laid into your neck. his hand gripped your calf, pulling it from his waist before holding it up in the air. " thought I was done with you? no baby.. gonna fuck this cunt till you cant even cum anymore." he said, watching you from below.
his thumb went right back to your clit, rubbing small circles that matched his pace. you were sure it was because you just had the strongest orgasm you've had in a bit, but you already felt tired and worn out. it could also be from all the blood Price had managed to draw from you. " c-cant take it." you cried, hands resting on his stomach in hopes to slow him down. but it only fueled him. seeing your poor attempts in stopping him, watching you run from him. " come on princess. take this dick like I know you can. making me so proud." he moaned, head falling back at the feeling of both your warmth and slick coating him.
the room sounded like pure filth, both you guys' moans, the sound of your slick, the skin slapping. it was hot, but also so much for you. it didnt take long for your second orgasm to follow your first one, this one more powerful than the last. " come on baby, cum for me. I know you want to." he smiled from above you, watching how his dick slid back into your cunt with ease and pull back out that much easier. your fingers gripped the ends of the couch cushions, your body jerking forward as another orgasm washed over your body. you chanted his name, legs shaking as you came down from it.
" p...please hold on." you cried out, feeling him continue to fuck into you. he shook his head, growling at you. " didnt I say im not stopping till this cunt cant cum anymore? now shut the fuck up and take it." he growled, his hand landing a slap across your face.
you had to admit, Price was beginning to scare you. it went from just being anxious to being a bit scared of him. he hadn't realized it tho, thinking the look on your expression was just from being so cock drunk. he loved it, watching your blood slide down your neck, pooling in your collar bone. his balls wet with your cum and slick. he felt too good to stop.
" gonna cum again. milking me so goddam good baby." he groaned, his head falling down. you though that this would be the end. that he'd be too tired to keep fucking you. and you were right, kinda.
he shot his last load into you, his body falling forward just a bit at the feeling. he chanted your name, telling you how good your pussy felt, how he wanted to stay in it forever. and when he slid out, you were shocked to immediately feel his fingers sliding in. your back arched, a cry slipping from you. " j-john please I cant" you cried, your legs arching. but he didnt stop. his fingers curled, hitting your g spot each time. his thumb found your clit again, rubbing it in small circles. " sounds so hot baby.. but I know you can. this is what happens to sluts. if you act like on im gonna treat you like one."
again, you began to spasm around his fingers, tears officially puling from your eyes as your stomach cramped up at yet another orgasm. to be honest, John hadn't realized how crazy he was going on you. he didnt know why you teasing him and jerking him off under the table was what set him off. maybe it was because he wanted to match your energy. but he had begun to take it to far when he again, slid his dick back inside your cunt. you were surprised he wasn't just as tired as you were or overstimulated. but he did just give himself a decent break.
" you look so fucked out baby.. are you tired?" he pouted, his hips moving slowly, giving you somewhat of a break. you nodded, wiping your watery eyes. finally, he was going to give you a break and maybe just stop all together. but no. all he did was lean back into your neck, leaving another hickey followed with a bite mark, ramming his hips back into yours. "John please" you cried, shaking your head, pressing your hands to his stomach and shoving him back.
his hand shoved yours off him, his other hand going to your neck. " I said take what I fucking give you, didnt I? stop fucking moving." at this point your pussy was sore, it hurt. you didnt even think you could cum anymore. and the grip on your throat was painful. tears fell from your eyes once you realized you had to use the now word he had promised neither of you would ever have to use. ever.
"s-strawberry.. please strawberry!" you sobbed, hands pressing onto his abdomen. at first he didnt think he heard you right. he slowed down, his face softening. "what?" he looked down at you, watching at the tears ran downpour face. he noticed, really noticed, the bite marks, the hickies covered with blood. he slid out immediately, sitting down and pulling your limp body onto his lap. " im so sorry.. im so so sorry." he whispered, pulling you into his arms.
but you couldnt stop crying. you didnt know if he was being genuine, if he found it hot. you were in the mindset that he was going to just flip you over and fuck you all over. but he didnt. he held you tight, whispering how sorry he was in your ear, how wrong he was for going so overboard. " i.. I broke a promise. and im so sorry my love. I should've listened to you." he said, pulling you off his chest. he wiped the tears from your eyes, his chest hurting as he looked at your red eyes. "please let me take care of you. for real." he said, taking your hand in his.
he stood, holding you in his arms and made his way to the bathroom. "im gonna set you on the toilet for a bit.." he said, sitting you gently. he started the bath before turning back to you, lifting your dress off you. when the bath was full, he helped you inside, watching you settle in. it was silent, kinda awkward. he didnt know what to say other than he was sorry. and he was. he'd never had to do this before, but he knew that he had to take care of you as best he could.
"look up for me princess." he said, cupping your chin softly. he grabbed the washcloth that hung on the rack, wetting it a bit before gently wiping your face. you eyes met his, giving you a small smile. " your so pretty." he mumbled, wiping your chin before dipping the washcloth back in the warm water. "thank you." you said softly, looking down. he continued to wipe your face before moving down to your neck. " this may hurt.. but I promise ill be as gentle as I can." he said before pressing the cloth to your neck.
you winced at the pain, squeezing your eyes shut. " im sorry my love.. just a bit more." he said softly, patting your skin softly. when it was done, he looked at the bloody cloth, sighing, shaking his head to himself. to say he was angry at himself or disappointed, that would be an understatement. he promised himself and you he'd never hurt you. " im so sorry my love.. I dont know what came over me." he said, head hanging low.
you reached over the tub and gripped his hand. " lets just watch movies and cuddle.. maybe even get some tea." you said, voice still hoarse from earlier. he didnt look at you at first, his eyes still stuck to the ground. but when you squeezed his hand again, he looked at you and nodded. " ill take care of you princess. dont you worry."
and he did. the rest of the night he was like your personal little maid. you needed to go pee? dont even think about using your legs, he'd carry you. you wanted the blanket? he'd tuck you in like a burrito. you got too hot? okay he'd take it off. he ordered your favorite food to the house since cooking was not his strong suit, ice cream on the side as well. he felt happy being able to take care of you like he told himself he would always do instead of hurting you.
when you were tired, you curled into his chest, snuggling into him. he looked down and smiled, his hand resting on top of your head. for the first time that night he had let himself cry. well not cry, but a few tears did drop. he was so grateful that you were as forgiving as you were. how even though he hurt you as bad as he did, you still felt safe in his arms, comfortable.
he kissed the top of your head, switched the tv off and laid back. " goodnight princess, I love you so much." he whispered before holding you in his arms, his grip on you never getting loose.
| this was pure fucking filth but like... I love this man so much I can help but right filthy filthy smut about him, also this was for @grqpegrqve |

hi, this is my first ever ask so I'm not sure I'm doing this correctly, if that's the case I'm sorry; I don't know how tumblr works just yet >:')
would it be possible for you to write something about bakugo, pining incredibly hard for fem!reader and initially hating how strongly he feels about her? because they're not even friends, they only exchange few words occasionally and she doesn't even glance at his way whereas he slowly finds himself unable to divert his eyes from her during classes? shes always with damn deku and his friends and doesn't even seem interested in him at all but his heart can't ignore the way she looks at him proudly whenever they spar together, the way she sends him small confident smiles as they fight each other with all they have; so he thinks that maybe, maybe he might have a chance. basically bakugo liking reader so much he's completely lost in self-hatred because he always thought feelings were for weak romantics and not great people like him, but everytime he sees reader doing some badass things (again, like sparring with him and basically matching his skills etc...) he's reminded of how badly he likes reader? but when he finally accepts he's fallen for reader, after ignoring and trying to forget about how she makes him feel, he masters up the courage to confess? and it's a very clumsy confession because he's awkward and has no idea how to deal with those feelings? and he tries so hard to make reader realise he's never been more serious than now? and reader is startled and speechless before rejecting him? and at that point he's just completely humiliated, so he nods and walks away.
it might be a little dramatic but I've always been into unrequited love and one-sided pining. thank you, its okay if you don't want to write about this, i'll understand <33

reblogs are greatly appreciated!
a/n: AHHHHH this is so cute <33 honestly this is super exciting for me and this ask made me so happy, lovey. i’m fairly new to tumblr, i’m usually just a reader but i wanted to migrate here from wattpad so this made me so happy. here u are my love <33 i hope this lives up to what u wanted !! :)) a bit lengthy, but i had a lot of fun writing it !!!
summary: bakugou finds he’s rejecting his feelings for you in fear of becoming weak, however he just can’t seem to ignore you.
genre: fluffy, fluffier than the clouds istg, however the clouds are sprinking a little teeny weeny droplet of angst.
warnings: cursing (bakugou, duhh), one-sided pining (on bakugou’s part) second hand embarrassment (on bakugou’s part bc we can all agree he’s a complete idiot when it comes to trying to get someone’s attention), just bakugou being a jackass, i gave the reader a quirk
word count: 3,859
(pls excuse any typos or mistakes, i edited to the best of my ability but i miss some things sometimes !)

part 2 is here my loves <3
brutal. it was utterly ruthless. he couldn’t focus, couldn’t think right. his hands were already exceptionally sweaty, but gosh when he saw your damn face, he was ready to explode. literally.
what the hell was it about you? was it your stupid smile? or the way you just seemed to carry every battle on your back? was it all the undeniably sweet things you do for others ‘just because’?
it made him angry that he thought about you, but gosh he couldn’t wait to see you every day.
just like any other day, bakugou found himself staring at the large door to the classroom, awaiting the moment you would bounce into his day, skirt shifting around your legs, bag slung loosely around your shoulders.
his leg was bouncing eagerly.
bakugou didn’t know when the feelings came. his cheeks just started flaring up all of a sudden and one day you just looked...different. you hadn’t done anything different to yourself. it was just him. not that he would ever admit that, to you or anybody else.
you were insufferable. you were stupid and obnoxious and so...so damn...
“y/n! come look at this!”
you’d come walking into class just as expected, and as soon as you did, that stupid nerd had called you over.
it didn’t help that deku sat right behind him, either. the two of you had recently gotten closer. bakugou noticed it last month when he yelled at the two of you to shut up about all might and get to work. he’d turned around to find you leaning over deku, hands resting on his shoulders while you peered at his phone.
“sorry, bakugou,” you’d said, barely acknowledging him. you had waved him off like an annoying fly. is that all you were to him? some nuisance that got in the way of your oh-so-entertaining conversations with deku?
all he heard nearly every day was your chipper voice talking to deku. always, “oh my gosh, midoriya, did you see the fight edgeshot was in last night?” or “midoriya! i have something to add to our quirk analysis book!”
that was the one that took the cake. you two dorks shared a notebook, occasionally passed between one another, and filled it with junk about quirks and pro heroes. but no matter how much he tried to tune you out, no matter how he tried to zone off and think about something else, you were always there. it made him want to vomit how much he thought about you.
you were doing an adorable shuffle over to midoriya’s desk and leaned over the table as you usually did while he angled his phone your way. “did you see this hero report?”
deku let you slip the phone out of his grasp to get a better look.
“no,” you breathed. “was this just recent?”
“yeah,” deku said, taking the phone back. “last night.”
“holy—”
“can you guys shut up over there?” bakugou said, his voice quaking.
“sorry, kacchan.” deku scrolled through the article.
dammit, bakugou thought. “i wasn’t talking to you, nerd. i was talking to shitface over here.” he jerked his head towards you. his eyes flared in anger when he saw you were looking down at your phone, now focused in on the article yourself. “i was talking to you, asshat!”
your eyes flicked up to his. you looked around for a moment before slowly pointing to yourself as if to say, “me?”
his face scrunched. “yeah, you. you’re so damn loud.” gosh, he hated how his voice was cracking, how he could feel his ears and cheeks lighting up in a swollen, cherry red. his stomach flipped.
she’s looking at you, gosh i’m sweating. i’m going to throw up. she’s so gorgeous. what the hell? they’re ugly as shit, i don’t think anything of them.
his eyes bore into yours.
“did you...need something?”
your voice broke his trance.
“kacchan, are you okay? you dozed off there for a second. you look like you’re burning up.”
bakugou looked to deku who was currently stretching out of his seat, arm extended. he pressed the back of his hand to bakugou’s forehead. “you’re really warm, kacchan. should we call recovery girl?”
it took him a moment to realize what was happening. his vision got blurry every time he was with you. bakugou smacked deku’s hand away. “i’m fine!” his voice lifted at the end, cracking. “i’m not sick. don’t you think i’d take better care of myself?”
“i don’t doubt you take good care of yourself, kacchan, but everyone gets sick once in a while. there’s nothing wrong with that.”
“i never get sick!” besides, if i got sick, i wouldn’t want you to be the one taking care of me.
he was still pissed. he was always in a bad mood, however, more so right now because you’d gone straight back to your phone and that stupid hero article that was supposedly so damn interesting.
soon enough, the bell rang, and you were seated at your desk. it was jirou’s old spot, however, after much convincing, you two had switched spots so you could be closer to deku. just a few months of getting close to the idiot and you two are suddenly best friends. jirou hadn’t minded one tiny bit, claiming she needed a break from how loud that section of the room was.
late as always, aizawa came trudging into your room. thankfully, his entire body wasn’t obscured by a yellow sleeping bag that smelled of something unwashed and coffee and gasoline. (for some reason, aizawa’s clothes always smelled of it.)
“lucky for you,” he began while shuffling papers on his desk, “all of you are doing training for these first periods.”
the class cheered in perfect unison, followed by their individual chatter. you had erupted with glee along with them, and bakugou was sure he felt his heart clench and then explode. just a tiny bit. but he shoved the feeling down just as quickly as it had come up.
“go out to the field and wait for further instructions. don’t make a sound in the halls otherwise, i’ll expel all of you.”
this shut everyone up in almost a second, the sound draining out just as water does. the first years trailed out into the hall, single-file mimicking the positions baby ducklings would take when following their mother.
bakugou found himself walking faster when he saw you take up your spot in the line, hoping to land his spot right behind you.
unfortunately, this idiot who considered himself bakugou’s friend tugged him back. “bakugou!” a familiar voice rasped.
“shitty hair, let go of me.”
“hey man, chill out. wanna partner up if we’re doing training in pairs?”
bakugou glanced at the line, the spot that should have been reserved for him now taken up by sato.
bakugou tugged his sleeve from kirishima’s hand. “whatever,” he snapped.
“sounds good!” kirishima flashed him a toothy grin and a thumbs-up. the bubbly feeling in bakugou’s chest died down as he stood behind sato, the overwhelming scent of sugar filling his nose, various candies that would go straight to your arteries.
“you smell like ass, damn,” bakugou remarked, squeezing his nostrils together.
luckily, sato was tall enough to not hear the insult, as he towered over bakugou by just another head. the line began moving like a sloppy train down to the change rooms.
bakugou scoffed as he listened to your giggle. he should be making you laugh.
“you’ll be given partners randomly from this box.” aizawa held up a familiar red box. “inside are all your names. i’ll select one, then that person will come up and pick another name from the box. that will be your assigned partner for today. as soon as you have your assigned partner, i want you guys to get straight to work.”
denki raised a hand, speaking before being called on. “sensei, why are we getting random partners? we’re always allowed to choose.”
“in the real world, you’re going to come across different villains every day. you’ll never improve your skills or your quirks if you keep fighting the same person.”
denki sighed, slumping back.
dammit, bakugou thought, gritting his teeth together. there wasn’t any way he wanted to be partners with you. it’s obvious he’d win the fight in the first few seconds.
yes! exactly right! bakugou internally grinned. his fluctuating feelings had finally soothed themselves. you were just another extra, and he had no room for you in his head.
aizawa took a moment to fiddle with the slips of paper inside the box. soon enough, he pulled out a name. “todoroki.”
todoroki walked up, digging his hand into the box when aizawa held it out for him. he pulled out a name, delicately unraveling the slip. “uraraka, you’re my partner.” he deadpanned.
the brunette grinned. “great!”
the two found their own spot on the field, and the class’s attention was once again diverted to their grouchy teacher as he pulled out another name.
“bakugou.”
bakugou strutted up without a worry in his mind. he pulled a name to find...
“y/n,” he said, voice a low growl. instead of the annoying fluttering in his chest, his eyes met yours, and they were filled with a different, new ferocity. he crumpled the paper in one hand, letting it twirl to the ground.
you looked at him, unsmiling. your eyes gave away nothing, and to bakugou’s knowledge, all you saw in him was another opponent.
it took him a moment to realize you had both locked eyes for about a minute. perhaps the two of you would have stayed as you were if aizawa hadn’t snapped at the two of you to get moving as yaomomo’s name was called.
bakugou was on his way to the back of the field, you followed close behind. while there was plenty of room still, he chose a secluded area. while it was still open enough to view everything going on so nobody got hurt, it was often nobody chose to train here. for whatever reason, you weren’t sure.
“wait up, bakugou,” you said. after a bit, you caught up to him.
“if you can’t keep up, then...” then what? he looked at you from the side of his eye. “then don’t keep up...” gosh, here came the embarrassing, disgusting feeling of redness in his cheeks.
you laughed. “what?”
“shut up.”
“you’re an idiot, bakugou.”
“i said shut the hell up!”
“what, so you can call me shitface in front of the entire class but you get all pissed when i call you an idiot?”
so you had heard him!
he tongued his cheek, curling his hands around an invisible ball, explosions sparking in the centers of his palms. “don’t expect me to hold back, dumbass.”
“i wouldn’t dream of it.”
gosh he loved that about you.
bakugou caught his thought in the air.
ahem...gosh he hated that about you.
you both charged in at the same time. his cry was louder than yours, but you struck first.
he admired your quirk. while he’d overhead you explaining all the drawbacks it had, it was strong, and you were strong because you knew how to control it.
purple arrows flew from your arms, going in your desired directions. if you lost focus for one moment, they’d vanish and weaken. if you focused too hard or long, you’d be plagued by a splitting headache.
he’d spent too much time obsessing over your strengths and weaknesses.
your arrows were weightless, however they were solid objects capable of carrying any mass, any thing, and worked as extensions of your body.
the violet arrow had shot out at him, twisting around his right gauntlet and crushing inwards. it’d snaked around him without him noticing, slithering along his back.
bakugou struggled to get the air-light arrow off his wrist, but it was no use. he glared back, only to see your focused, furrowed brows. he’d expected to see your cocky ass smiling. it was nice to see you weren’t.
that was one thing that had also caught his eye. you never underestimate your opponent, but you never underestimate yourself, either.
you conjured a larger arrow. it snaked around your right arm as you hurled bakugou into the air, releasing your grasp on him. you shot your other arrow into the air, and it raced into the sky.
it swerved. bakugou’s eyes went wide as the tip of the arrow came down on his chest. if they weren’t intangible things, he would have been bleeding out.
another drawback: the arrows, while they could solidify, they couldn’t do any actual damage. you had to use your surroundings to inflict harm on your opponent.
he coughed out as the arrow shot him into the ground. he hadn’t even touched you, and here he was, vulnerable and so...so...
you stood over him, hands on your hips.
vulnerable and so lost in that adorable, winning smile.
“get away from me, idiot,” he grunted and turned onto his side, his back crying out in pain.
“i think i won this fight, bakugou,” you chirped, rocking on your heels.
“don’t get arrogant, shithead. you won’t be winning against me anymore.”
you grinned, arrows shooting out behind your back.
the dorms were exceptionally quiet. you were typing away in the common room, bakugou on the couch reading. everyone was off doing something else. it was the weekend, luckily. he’d expected you to go bounding out with everyone else, however you’d stayed back, claiming you had some homework to catch up on.
bakugou being classic bakugou had stayed back. he was excited to have the dorm to himself, but your dumbass was stuck here with him. couldn’t you have done your typing in your room?
you were so aggressive on that poor keyboard.
“oi, quiet down with your shit typing.”
you barely grunted in response.
“don’t ignore me.”
“i heard you, mom.”
“the hell did you call me?”
no response. only your aggressive typing is a bit less aggressive.
“i can still hear it,” bakugou remarked, eyes fixed on your back.
“‘kay,” you said. your typing slowed a tad, and your pressure on the keys lessened.
it was quiet now. bakugou should go back to his book. he shouldn’t still be looking for a reason to talk to you.
the pages crinkled in his fingers. he bit his tongue, keeping his snarky comments in.
“you’re a fucking idiot, you know that? doing your damn homework. it’s due tomorrow.”
you turned, pursing your lips. “and how would you know what i’m working on? are you stalking me?”
“i- what? no. you’re such an idiot, of course i’m not—”
“i’m messing with you,” you breathed, face un-moving.
“o-oh,” bakugou stuttered out. he blinked awkwardly.
“gosh, what’s gotten your panties in a twist?”
“you’re annoying.”
“you’re a jackass.” you returned to your work. bakugou settled with reading in his room. reading consisted of jumping onto his bed just as the stereotypical high school girl would in an eighties movie. he buried his face in his pillow, face burning bright red. he cursed you for making him feel this way, and hated himself even more for how much he enjoyed it.
the next day came swiftly. you’d left early to go train with midoriya. there were many improvements needed to be made, but you weren’t doing too bad.
you propelled yourself forwards with an arrow, and your green-haired friend shot back, lightning flickering around his body.
landing back on the ground, you panted and swiped the sweat from your brow. from the corner of your eye, you could make out both kirishima and bakugou coming to the training grounds.
bakugou stopped in his tracks, frowning at the sight of you.
it was evident he hated you a bit more than everyone else. he was always making his annoying comments, he was always snubbing you. you saw no reason to talk to him, so you didn’t. either way, even if you tried, he would still get angry for no reason.
it’d taken you quite some time to get used to his obnoxious attitude. tuning him out had been the best course of action, in your opinion.
the way you and midoriya had bonded was through bakugou, in a way. the first day of school, bakugou had snapped at you for tripping over your laces and nearly crashing into him. later that day, midoriya had stepped up and apologized for his old friend’s actions.
you two had never been too close until now. the recent incidents going on with the league of villains had snagged your attention, and it seemed you were the only person who didn’t mind listening to him ramble on about heroes.
you were just as passionate and just as dorky, but midoriya could talk your ear off. you never minded, and he always took the hint when you didn’t want to listen.
you brought your leg up, twirling in the air with ease and watched your heel collide with midoriya’s face. he grunted, stumbling back.
you were about to charge in again when a hand landed on your shoulder, big and rough. you turned to see bakugou standing behind you, a scowl on his face.
“fight me again,” he demanded.
“excuse me?”
“don’t act like you didn’t hear me.”
“i’m in the middle of fighting midoriya right now.”
“so?”
“so if you think that i’m just going to ditch my friend because you want to fight, i won’t.”
“you’re being stubborn.”
“i’m being reasonable. back off.”
“y/n?” midoriya rubbed his jaw—right where you had struck him. “what’s going on?” he jogged up to you and bakugou.
“he wants to fight me in the middle of our fight. it’s nothing serious. don’t worry about it, midoriya. let’s just ignore him.”
bakugou made a sound someone would only make if they were choking. “the hell did you just say?”
“we’re ignoring you!” you waved him off and placed your hand on midoriya’s shoulder, wandering away.
-
it was new to him, not getting what he wanted. and what he wanted right now was to be around you. again, it wasn’t like he would ever admit that to himself.
“dude? you good? i thought you went off to fight y/n. i was so ready to cheer you on, dude,” kirishima’s chipper voice piped in. “she’s not fighting with you? why not?”
“the dumbass was just probably scared of getting her ass beat by me.”
“dude...that sounds really weird.”
“whatever, shitty hair. let’s go.”
the clock ticked. his ears were on fire. again.
gosh, it was happening again. it was all you. his face scrunched up, his voice would surely crack if someone were to ask him what was wrong.
bakugou was once again stuffing his face in his pillow, hiding his expression from no one. why did you have to go train with that shitty nerd? why were you always around deku? deku, of all people. what did he have? why was he so great?
bakugou was a man of many insecurities, but losing to deku? that was possibly his biggest fear.
perhaps he wasn’t the nicest, or the most soft person out there. bakugou could admit that, at least. but he was smarter than deku. he was stronger and he was better and people liked him more. right?
what was so...amazing about deku?
it was often bakugou would find himself obsessing over little, insignificant things such as these.
you were what he was thinking of most of the time. just yesterday, he’d gotten a test returned. he was expecting an eighty at the lowest, but more so expecting a high ninety. it’d come back exactly sixty percent.
sixty. percent.
bakugou vividly remembered staring at your face. he also remembered not being able to focus because of it. his grades were dropping because of you.
you were the only person to be able to do this to him.
his heart grew quiet, but the pounding of his didn’t cease. he lifted his head.
“alright, fine,” he said aloud. “you win, y/n. you win.”
he settled with getting over his feelings the way he’d read them in his collection of romance manga.
bakugou left his room and knocked on your door. (he was banging on it, but it was his nice way of knocking.)
you answered, looking around awkwardly. “yes?”
his hands shook. how was this supposed to go? sure, he’d seen it in romance movies and read it in books but it was always easy to tell whether the guy would get the girl or not.
in this instance, bakugou was clueless. for once in his life, he was clueless. you stood, tapping your foot with a hand on your hip, waiting expectantly for him to tell you why he was here.
“um.” he scratched behind his neck. “you uh- i uh...i’m sorry i called you a, um...a shitface.”
“okay? is that it?”
what? come on! it was already unlike him to apologize. what else did you want from him?
“did you...i’ve been thinking, maybe? maybe we could..train together as...friends?”
“...what?”
gosh dammit, as friends?
“whatever, um...the uh...” oh gosh, what did the boys do in all the books he’d read? right! bakugou stretched out his arm, resting his forearm on the door, leaning to the side.
although he didn’t, really, because like the clumsy jackass he was, bakugou missed completely and nearly toppled to the floor.
this earned a snicker from you.
his stomach flipped and churned, and bakugou found himself unable to reach your eyes. “uh, would you maybe..? okay, um. do you want to go on a date with me? you absolute fucking dumbass.”
your eyes flew wide. “...what?”
“no, that’s not what i— i mean i didn’t mean the last part. um, i meant the first part. the first two parts. the part where i was asking you if you wanted to go on a date with me and then before that when i said maybe because it’s still a maybe until you say yes. or...or no because that’s an option too.”
he swallowed.
you resisted the urge to mock him, just a little bit. “um, bakugou, listen.”
he leaned closer. “yes?”
“it’s going to be a no. i’m sorry, but i’m just not interested in you like that.”
it took him a moment to register everything. his shoulders sagged. gosh that was brutal.
“oh, alright.”
“yeah, uh, sorry about that.” you offered him a weak smile, still a bit shocked yourself. he did his best to return it, and when you closed the door, his face was ready to explode.
it was so damn difficult to deal with these feelings, but maybe it was better this way. knowing where you stood on your end, he knew he wouldn’t miss out on anything.
perhaps it was alright to admire from afar. things could happen in the future, right?
right now, he’d just wait. for a long, long time. bakugou pressed a hand to his chest, feeling his erratic heartbeat. maybe it was alright to not have you right now. perhaps he could better himself for you. just for you.

The first time you saw her was in halls of the Jedi temple. She had been walking with her master, Anakin Skywalker, when she had passed you. You didn’t know anything about her, just that you were both about fourteen, recently assigned to your masters and ready to take on the world with them. You weren't sure why your stomach and done a flip or why your face had gone a deep shade of red when you’d made eye contact with her. You weren't sure why your heart started beating faster when she’d tipped her head and gave you a small friendly smile before looking away. You weren't sure what that feeling that had flooded your chest had been but you tried not to dwell on the encounter too much.
The second time you saw her was during training. That was the day you’d become friends. Both your masters decided that it’d do you some good to spare with each other while they were preoccupied for the day. You’d pushed yourselves relentlessly that time. You found her a worthy opponent, and she had found you one to. By the end of the day, you were both collapsed on the training mats, rolling around on the floor in laughter and throwing comments out that only made the lame joke funnier.
The third time you saw her was during the second battle of Geonosis. You’d saved her life that time, pushing her out of the way of blaster fire that would have hit her square in the chest. The laser had grazed your side, and it burned like hell, but your mind had been occupied on other things as you pushed yourself up and checked her for wounds. It had been impossible not to notice the proximity and tension that arose around the two of you as you did. Touching her face and running your hands down her body, making sure that she wasn’t at all injured. In time you were forced to turn your attention to the searing pain in your side and trying to quell her worry for you when she noticed the wound. Reassuring her by saying that if she was okay, then you were okay.

re-made my cover of presque vu from like 2 months ago bc i received the copy and realized i’d made a whole bunch of amateur mistakes re: typesetting and cover design, and was so bothered that i designed myself another copy (that is winging its way to me RIGHT now). notes under the cut if anyone’s interested! i needed a place to put all my thoughts about the process
so this was the old design:
Tumblr media
i designed this first one in a day, and didn’t have any idea what i was gonna do beforehand - the concept ended up being like, arthur + arthur’s vision of paris being inverted + the surrealism of the pink ink. so like the corruption of dreaming seeping into arthur’s reality. saying i discovered the thematic elements along the way would be an understatement though lmfao
the only new fonts i used were for subtitles/the author name, as well as the publisher stuff on the back cover - otherwise i used preinstalled fonts. i didn’t prioritize the title either. i kinda worked it in around the design i had and hoped it wasn’t too hard to read against the pink
as for the typesetting/interior: i threw the manuscript in indesign, put in chapter #s, figured out page numbering/master pages, and set it in book antiqua. i also put in these handdrawn-ish dice end-stoppers and spaced them really weirdly, because i was scared the spaces between sections would be too big. actually for a lot of the interior stuff i was worried abt how spacing would look, so i left the text like. single spaced
and then i was really excited and i wanted to print it before i lost interest in the project entirely, so i did, and unfortunately all those issues that i overlooked in the design phase came back to bite me in the ass. like, i didn’t figure out the trim properly, so the barcode was way too close to the bottom of the book. the font was HUGE on the back, and made it look like a kid’s book. title/author on the spine were too small and spaced weird. the margins in the interior were too small on the bottom, spacing was way too small in general, book antiqua ended up looking weird in print (though at least half of that was also probably the spacing), and there were widows and orphans everywhere (single words/lines at the tops and bottoms of pages). there were also typos and little mistakes in the text itself. i couldn’t have figured all of that out w/o seeing it for myself in print, but i did immediately start taking notes on what i wanted to change w the next edition LMAO
so here are a few prototype designs i had before settling on my new design:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
basically i tried to go into this cover design w a much stronger concept than i did for the first one. i worked through a few ideas before settling on my final design, and i let them sit for a while instead of impulse ordering! final concept ended up being how arthur’s life was effectively destroyed by dreaming - first his career, then mal, then his relationships w eames and dom in a terrible domino effect - while maintaining an iron grip control over himself through all of it. (that’s fallingwater, a parisian hausmann apartment building, and the tuileries exploding on the cover!)
made the font smaller on the back cover, made the text on the spine bigger, made sure the title stood out and was a focal point by using a display font, and tried to make a coherent color scheme via an exclusion filter
biggest changes were in the interior, though. i modelled it off the raven cycle books! i found a nicer serif font, double spaced, and made sure the margins were bigger. i also put all the text on a baseline grid and replaced the dice stoppers w a really nice symbol that i can’t copy paste here lol, which did wonders to line up my text on the grid. i also figured out justification/keep options to solve my widows/orphans problem, and did some light editing to ensure the last lines were even on the page. i just barely scraped the surface of typesetting too! even w all the research i did this time, i’m sure there’s more to typesetting that i haven’t discovered yet :’)
so fun so so exhilarating to see the entire thing come together. i can’t wait for the book to come in!!!!!!

Jelly Slugs
Pairing: Harry Potter x reader
Word Count: 2,278
Warnings: Swearing, a little angsty, still plenty of fluff
Song to Set the Vibe: broken ~ lovelytheband
Request: @mcluuvin666 hi could i request a harry potterxreader in which the reader & harry always seem to find each other in the hospital wing at the end of each year because of harry’s adventures & somehow she always ends up hurt in a funny/ironic way even though it wasn’t her intention to get caught in their messes if that makes sense? either way harry & the reader get really close throughout years of ending up in the hospital wing w the reader being frustrated w the trio bc they’re the “reason” why she’s hurt and she’s just kinda like “you lot are going to be the death of me” but harry and reader end up going out anyway. lots of fluff and maybe angst if you can? thank you so much!!
A/n: Once agian so sorry this took so long! It may not be completely edited, excuse typos, I wrote litteratly all of it tonight. I'm trying to burn through my requets, if u sent one I got it I'm just waiting to get to it
Tumblr media
At eleven years old you had already had far too many near-death experiences, for you that meant one. You hadn’t meant to do anything at all, well except grab some snacks from the kitchen after hours, but it wasn’t anything you hadn’t done before. On your way back your ears had picked up a sweet symphony and you had grown curious.
Turning a few unfamiliar corners you found the room, its heavy door ajar. You pushed it all the way open, a pastry still stuffed in your mouth preventing you from screaming. A large three-headed beast lay in front of you snoring loudly. Before you could turn and run your eyes found a small wooden trap door at its feet. The phrase your mother often scolded you with echoed in your head, Curiosity killed the cat. You about turned on your heel but then the ending of the saying learned from an equally mischievous classmate came to you, But satisfaction brought it back.
You dropped the food in your hands and walked hesitantly towards the large dog. You then quietly opened the door, cringing as its hinges squeaked and peered inside being met with complete darkness. You were going to close the door retrieve your treats then head back to your dorm but as you turned you met a pair of brilliantly green eyes and you let out a yelp before stumbling backward and plunging into the hole with a scream. You were soon followed by three of your classmates almost as confused as you were.
You ended up getting your arm broken by a giant chess piece on your way to retrieve something you didn’t fully understand and what you believed to be a curse began.
You sat up in a cold sweat the image of a white stone queen drawing her sword waking you with a start. You rubbed your eyes only to find your left arm in a sling and aching a bit.
“Oh, good you’re awake.”
You turned to your right to see a little boy in round glasses smiling at you. “What happened last night?” you asked eyes wide.
“It’s a long story, but I suppose we have time.” He shrugged, “Jelly slug?” he offered holding out a colorfully wrapped package.
“Yes please.”
Second year began as normal as it should have but it was soon strange and dangerous, pearlized classmates and strict rules making the school feel less and less like a home. Of course, your luck being about as bad as it got, you where the last victim of the basilisk.
You had been polishing trophies to serve detention which you got for supposedly bad-mouthing Snape although it wasn’t your fault Draco was a filthy snitch. You then saw a large pair of yellow eyes in the shining metal and everything went dark.
You woke up four days later body aching eyes feeling extremely dry as you blinked vigorously. You had a strange sense of deja vu as the hospital wing soon came into view. Head once again thumping as you tried to recall your memories.
“Oh right, you're here.”
You turned your head to the right to see a wide smile, green eyes hidden behind round glasses as cuts riddled the boy’s face.
“Merlin Harry, what happened to you?” You gasped taking in his battered form.
He shrugged, “I fought Voldemort.”
You cringed at the name but said nothing of it to him, “Again?”
He laughed, “Yeah, this time it hurt more though.”
“I’m glad you’re okay.” You grinned at him.
His cheeks reddened a bit, “Yeah, I’m glad you’re okay too.”
You fell into an uncomfortable silence before Harry reached to his bedside table and offered you a tissue-wrapped box, “Jelly Slug?”
You nodded taking it from him
Third-year had been downright dreadful for you. You were finally a teenager which basically meant everything that had been easy and quick now seemed to take hours and far too much thought. Every little thing you did you were sure would be scrutinized, it didn’t help when a close friend of yours spread a nasty rumor about you and you found yourself skipping classes and opting to stay in bed. A serial killer being on the loose certainly didn’t help.
The only sort of decent thing that happened was your friendship with Harry, after two times of healing in the hospital wing together you decided to be at least acquaintances. You held study sessions with the boy and occasionally his two best friends although all they did was bicker.
You also happened to be outside reading when a rat lept on you and dove down your shirt leading to you being dragged into a tree by a dog who turned out to be a serial killer who turned out to be Harry’s godfather. But to be honest you didn’t really care.
You were absolutely livid, your leg was torn apart and for the third time in a row you had somehow been shoved into an adventure you most certainly didn’t want to take part in and you were bleeding heavily because of it.
Oh yes, how could you forget? You were also almost killed by your professor, who had turned into a werewolf just in time to almost kill you again.
When you woke up in the hospital wing with the golden trio surrounding you, you weren’t so pleasant.
A string of foul curse words, pointing fingers and yelling was shot at the three teens who apologized profusely insisting they did not mean to get you caught up in their business.
You eventually calmed down and found out it wasn’t all that bad considering you got to see the suddenly very attractive dark-haired boy who made a point to spend all of his free time in the hospital wing with you as your leg healed. You shared a large amount of jelly slugs as you read muggle books and did your best to stay on top of studies.
Fourth year was much better than the last. You and Harry spent more and more time together and you felt a large crush on the boy who lived growing. Hermione knew about it instantly and Ron seemed adamant to tease both of you just for the joy of watching your faces flush. But good things never lasted.
You had a heart attack when Harry’s name came out of the goblet and found yourself taking his side in a sudden war between him and Ron. The bitch of a journalist Rita Skita also plastered you and Harry’s face all over the daily prophet when she caught you hugging him before his first task. You went with Harry to the ball although to both of your disappointment only as friends. And you ended up comforting Hermione in the hallway anyway.
You also were almost drowned by your sorry excuse for teachers in the second task. Never one to back down from a fight you yelled directly at Dumbledor and Karkaroff saying how if your name wasn’t pulled out of that idiotic goblet than you shouldn’t have to almost die for the even more idiotic tournament. Of course, you did this with a very colorful vocabulary that landed you three weeks of detention.
When Harry pulled Cedric from the maze you had cheered clapping along with the band until suddenly you heard the boy wail like a wounded animal. You raced down to meet him and helped pull him off of the elder boy’s body.
He was shaking the entire time and when you finally managed to drag him away he buried his head into your neck and sobbed.
Harry was then dragged away by Mad-Eye and you were quick to follow, bursting in on the two just as Moody no longer became Moody.
“Harry!” You yelled diving at the quickly transforming man who was holding him at wand point.
Your body suddenly erupted in such harsh pain you thought you might throw up.
“Y/n!” Harry’s yells fell on deaf ears as the unforgivable curse took all of your attention.
By the time Harry was able to disarm the man, you had passed out from the pain.
You woke up in the hospital wing three days later a disheveled Harry seated in a chair next to you his arms folded on your bed his head resting on them.
When you tapped his shoulder lightly he jolted awake immediately engulfing you in his embrace sobbing out apologies as you pushed yourself closer into his chest.
“I’m so so sorry y/n, I never meant for you to be caught up in any of this.” He choked out pulling away from you and cupping your face in his hands.
“It’s okay Harry, I’m okay.” You spoke smiling weakly feeling extremely exhausted.
“But he used an unforgivable cu-”
“I don’t care, I’m just happy you’re okay.” You interrupted leaning into the soft circles his thumb was drawing on your cheek.
Harry’s eyes filled with an unidentifiable emotion and suddenly his lips were on your own.
The second they connected he backed away blushing so heavily you were sure he was hot to the touch.
“I’m so sorry y/n, I don’t know what I was thinking and I-”
You only shook your head and wrapped your hands around his neck bringing his lips back to yours. His hands ended up on either side of you as you leaned back down on the bed bringing him with you. He hovered over you, your tongue slipping into his mouth as you played with the ends of his hair. He tasted overly sugary with a hint of fruit, just like a jelly slug.
You were interrupted by a cough followed by a low chuckle and Harry immediately pulled away from you and you turned to see not only your headmaster but Professor McGonagal and Madame Pomfrey all staring at you.
Your eyes went wide and you felt so hot you thought you might catch the sheets on fire. You stole a glance at Harry who had paled dramatically, looking sick.
“I’m glad you’re feeling better y/n.” Dumbledore chortled.
You hissed in at the pain that shot through your ankle. Your head had also begun to pound causing you to squeeze your eyes shut and attempt to relieve the pressure by pressing onto your temples. Fuck Umbridge. You hopped that bitch was dead, as your eyes began to adjust to the sudden brightness of your surroundings you saw an all to a familiar sight. The hospital wing had become your home away from home and now in fifth year you, it made sense you ended up there once again.
When your psychotic headmaster dragged you, your boyfriend and your two best friends out to the forbidden forest as she was attacked by a giant she managed to hit you with some sort of spell which effectively left you in your current state. Harry who was seated beside you wrapped his arms around your waist and placed a kiss on your neck.
“You okay?” He asked he seemed stressed, then again when wasn’t he?
“I’m fine.” You lied with a smile pushing his glasses back up his nose.
“I think you should stay here y/n/n, I can’t have you getting hurt.”  He frowned. You then took notice of the group of teenagers was behind him. They were clearly about to leave.
“I think history has proven that kind of unavoidable at this point.” You sighed standing up and drinking whatever was on your nightstand, it turned out to be a pain medicine that tasted the equivalent of dragon piss.
“Y/n...” Harry spoke hesitantly.
You turned to look at your boyfriend, your face set in stone. “If you don’t take me with you I will find another way to that building.”
Harry sighed biting down on his lip, “Fine. Alright, guys, let’s go.”
Your lips twitched into a smile just as you were about to leave the room you noticed a small half-empty bag on the table next to your bed, you stuffed it into your pocket and ran after the group you had fallen behind.
You sat silently eyelids feeling so heavy you thought they might close at any moment. Your entire body ached, your headache coming back stronger than ever, but you didn't let onto your pain.
Harry had his head buried into your stomach as you combed through his messy hair, his sobs were the only sound in the massive black room. Sand was scattered around you as you clung to your boyfriend your back up against a black glass wall as you stared blankly ahead of you. Dumbledore stood a few feet away, seeming almost as lost as you were. Part of you hated him for putting Harry through everything he had just been through, but you knew it wasn’t his fault.
Harry adjusted himself so his head was buried into the crook of your neck, his arms wrapped around your waist. The movement caused something in your pocket to crinkle, catching your attention.
You reached into your robe and removed a half-empty bag of candy. You smiled in spite of yourself.
You tapped Harry on the shoulder whispering his name. He looked up at you his eyes rimmed in red, his face blotchy, the sight made your heart throb.
“Jelly Slug?” You asked your voice cracking.
The boy let out a mix between a laugh and a sob before lightly placing his lips onto your own. He tastes salty and bitter, like tears and blood. You found yourself wishing you were elven again when everything was simple, wishing that Harry still tasted like jelly slugs.

don’t hate me. (akaashi keiji x m!reader)
summary: you push your feelings down for akaashi for so long that you’ve forgotten every loving memory of him. until, he reminds you.
a/n: this is so bad bc i didn’t edit this at all and theres probably a lot of typo’s but (*´꒳`*) i felt like writing a self indulgent soft fic before sleeping
warnings: nothings really, fluff and anxiety(?)
status : unedited / 1.9k
You honestly didn’t know when your love for Akaashi bloomed in a romantic way. After all these years of being his close friend, you both shared moments that an average person would label as romantic, but to you both it was just friendship. From sleeping together cuddled in the same bed to gifting each other on special days to sunset picnics after practice. Either you two were oblivious or the world was too strict on defining what romance is.
But now you know, you love Akaashi. Seeing him be confronted by a girl with a love letter in her hand made your heart prick with jealousy. Your eyes couldn’t stop glaring at the girl, the thought of her having a chance with him bubbled anxiety that you pushed down and denied. You didn’t even notice that your face was strewn with furrows when Konoha slaps your back.
“Oi, y/n-chan what’s that look on you face?” He looks at your ridiculous expression before following your eyes, when he sees who they’re set on he puts two and two together.
Konoha whistles before snickering at you. Despite Akaashi’s faint body language of disinterest, you still believed in the possibility of him reciprocating the girl’s feelings.
“This is some entertaining shit, don’t tell me you like her–“ You roll your eyes at him, ignoring his teasing, he clearly lacked awareness of how much his words could have affected you.
When you turn around, trying to get away from the scene before you, Konoha follows suit and babbles on about other things. You didn’t blame her, Akaashi was growing into his features and that brought a lot of attention from shallow girls. You just didn’t like the idea of him sharing his love. In your little fumbled head, that meant you weren’t important enough for him to give all his love to.
You spend the day almost ignoring him, which was stupid of you considering if you were losing him you should be trying to win his attention again. But you needed some time to let your brain think.
The rest of your classmates file out as the day ends and you’re left with Akaashi, who’s on cleaning duty with you. Had you not been jealous of the girl due to the entire situation that morning, the atmosphere wouldn’t have been uncomfortable and awkward, at least for you.
“Hey, y/n I haven’t seen you all day, are you okay?” He speaks up when the last student leaves.
He approaches you, placing a hand on your shoulder. You had your head resting on your arms as your face was nuzzled into the inside of your elbow. When you don’t respond, he moves to the other side to place himself in your line of view. You had your eyes closed, but Akaashi had a suspicion that you were well awake.
“Alright then, I guess you’re going to leave me to do all the cleaning.” He laughs, gently patting your shoulder.
You felt guilty, letting him do all the work, but that kinda meant he’s stuck with you a little longer and you were fine with that. The sounds of his soft humming almost made you fall asleep. His voice was soothing, it almost made you cry. Your sudden yearning for his touch confused you, why were you suddenly crushing on Akaashi?
The constant thinking had actually made you fall asleep. The last thought made you fall asleep to a comforting feeling. You had thought of Akaashi and that was bound to make you get a good nap. Just as you were beginning to float to dream land, you were woken up by a hand stroking your hair.
“Y/n, we gotta go now, it’s getting late.” He smiled at you, you looked so peaceful sleeping.
It took you a second to realize you had fallen asleep, but the drowsiness soon left when you see Akaashi looking at you, his proximity a little closer than you thought.
“You owe me one for making me clean everything, luckily the room wasn’t as messy as it usually is.”
You both silently walk home together. Luckily, volleyball practice wasn’t on, so you were able to go home and drown in your sorrows. Your overthinking was broken by Akaashi’s voice slicing through the quiet.
“Hey, are you still sleeping over tonight? we’re still going to the city tomorrow right?” He asks, eyeing your fatigued expression.
“Oh shit– I completely forgot.” You say with wide eyes, realizing you should’ve packed for a sleepover.
“You dumbass, you can borrow my clothes remember? I got extra towels and a toothbrush too. Where has your head been? you seem off today.” He says in worry.
You brush it off, saying you didn’t have the best sleep because you were up too late. He was right, usually you weren’t this… awkward. All your manoeuvres were hesitant and your demeanour was not the usual chill guy he knew. You curse at yourself for not being able to mask your emotions.
But man it felt nice to be sleeping in Akaashi’s bed again. Everytime you inhaled, all you could smell was him. You could almost doze off from it alone, but you wanted to stay awake a little longer to bask in his company. He was curled facing you, one of his legs was resting above yours. You weren’t sure if he was asleep or not. You were face to face with him, noses a few inches away, you didn’t want to stare too long just in case he opened his eyes but you couldn’t.
Your eyes travel from his long lashes, to the tip of his cute little nose, before settling onto his smooth lips that were slightly pouting. You were so close you could kiss him, but that would be weird. Your thoughts fought with each other as it raced with scenarios that could happen.
What were you saying? You can’t keep thinking about this, Akaashi’s your friend and has been since you were in kindergarten. You didn’t even know if he liked guys. Right… if you were to tell him, he would probably call you a freak and a stalker.
The thoughts keep flooding and some hurt more than others. You turn to face the wall, letting a few drops of tears fall. You tried your best to not let out a sound but you couldn’t stop yourself from sniffling. Just as you were about to fall asleep, a voice erupts from behind you.
“Y/n are you jealous of Keiko?”
You freeze. Why would he be saying that? Did he see you stare? Or were you really that obvious? You didn’t know how to respond, you didn’t even want to move. The sound of your heart was beating so loud in your ears that it made you panic even more.
“If you’re wondering why I’m asking you, I’ve known you since we were 4.” His voice was quiet, only loud enough for you to hear, and it sent chills up your spine.
By now your eyes were wide, tears streaming down even more. You bite your lip to prevent your breathing shake. You really couldn’t come up with a response. He continues when you don’t reply.
“It’s been a year, you seriously think I wouldn’t notice?”
Akaashi knows when you gaze at him, but he never meets your eyes. He notices the hugs that were a little longer than usual. He notices your touches grow more and more frequent each time you meet whether it be a faint brush of your fingers when you pass him something or you placing a firm hand in his shoulder as you great him when you arrive to class in the morning.
A year? Had it really been a year. Were you really in love with him this entire time, did you forget or were you oblivious by your own feelings that you couldn’t see how you were acting around him? You wanted to turn and see the look on his face, it was probably disgust. You can’t tell if he’s upset or not, his speech was affected by his tiredness.
“You don’t remember do you?”
Remember?
Akaashi did feel a tinge of disappointment when he saw your lack of response. Maybe you were mad at him because he let that girl Keiko talk to him longer than needed. Maybe you were mad at him because maybe you do remember and he wasn’t showing signs of what he swore he felt. He just wanted you to talk to him.
“I know I should stop letting these girls give me love letters, but I hoped you would’ve stepped in for me and say that I'm not interested. Is that strange?”
He sighs, you haven’t moved an inch. He was hesitant, but he moved closer to you, close enough to feel the heat radiate off your body. Maybe he shouldn’t have confronted you about this, it felt like wrong timing.
“Remember that night you stole alcohol from your parents? You were pissed drunk, maybe they weren’t true words but you said…”
You felt shame creep up to you, a frown settled on your face at your failure to remember. You knew you shouldn’t have drunk most of the bottle.
“You told me that you were in love with me.”
Oh.
Maybe you did remember. You probably shoved that memory down subconsciously to prevent yourself from being embarrassed, you remember, it was a clear small chunk of memory. You also remember the amount of girls you hooked up with to prevent yourself from falling for Akaashi even more, but it obviously didn’t work, you only wanted him even more because those girls weren’t him.
“Do you… you know what nevermind. I’m sorry if you found this weird, forget I said anything–“
“Akaashi.”
You finally turn, eyes slightly red from crying. He was so pretty under the moonlight, his upturned brows and wide worried eyes made your heart skip a beat. You would be lying if you didn’t want to suffocate him in a hug right then and there.
“Tell me what you said that night.” Your voice was stern, but you could tell that you were trying to hide a cry.
“I’m sure you remember–“
“I want to hear you say it again.”
You pull yourself closer to him, eyes never leaving his as you search for something within. You cup his cheek, inching your face closer and closer. Akaashi feels his cheek heat up. Luckily, you couldn’t see his blush under the blue tones from the night.
He hesitates, but says it clearly. The words replayed in your head over and over, you have to make sure you heard it correctly and you weren’t hallucinating. Instead of heartbreak, you felt relief. It wasn’t what you expected for him to feel.
“I love you.”
You wasted no time in pressing your lips against his. And oh how it felt so good to finally be able to do so. Every single memory of your display of affection towards him flashed in your mind. You had been practically hinting at it, but you denied your feelings and called it friendliness.
If you could have a moment you could replay on a loop when you died, it would be this one. You lay almost on top of him with your face in the crook of his neck, inhaling his scent. Your leg was placed across his thighs as your arm was resting on his chest, your hand tangled in his hair.
This was the intimacy you craved, and so did he.

Would you be willing to talk about your writing process? How many drafts you go through, how early on you run something by a beta, do you outline or not, etc.? I'm really curious to get a feel for how folks write!
Sure!! Not sure how coherent this will be but let's see lol. Also you'll notice that certain pieces vary a lot. Writing process under the cut!
Getting an idea: Most of the time, I get my fic ideas from either songs or random conversations with friends, and they're typically a sort of precipitating event or premise that leads to a character exploration. (Examples: What if Geralt was a ghost haunting Jaskier's house? What if Dan actually stayed for that drink Lucifer offered him?) But sometimes I look for a plot on purpose (e.g., I had been DYING to write a time loop for literal years before I finally worked out how I wanted it to look by brainstorming ways to subvert the conventions w/in the trope).
It's hard to like, delineate this tho because in reality it's sort of messy and mushed bc of how my brain works. Like, the truer to life approximation of deciding to write and yet so far from death was more like: receiving comfort as the reminder you are lacking it -> ooh ghost love story as ultimate yearning -> who would be more fun to write as a ghost? -> Jaskier as ghost = inversion of dynamic / Geralt as ghost = extension of dynamic -> Geralt as ghost sounds fun -> why would Jaskier be stuck in a house with a ghost? -> he's retiring from a life on the road -> what Jaskier is lacking is permanence/stability -> ghost story as paradox of permanence and impermanence -> okay but on the plot level what would happen if Geralt was haunting Jaskier's house?
Outlining: I usually start writing without formalizing an outline, just to get a feel for the story itself, but I tend to have an idea for the major beats/the thesis statement living amorphously in my brain. Then partway thru the fic I type out an actual outline tracking major occurrences and functions of scenes; occasionally I'll write a whole fic without an outline tho, especially if it's shorter (<16k).
Drafting/Editing: I do somewhere between 1.5 and 2 drafts, depending on how you define a distinct draft ig? I've never completely rewritten a whole story like some schools of writing suggest, but I will definitely go back and make edits. I usually self-edit as I go and then do a full re-read/edit at the end of draft completion. For the as-you-go stuff, I typically re-read everything I wrote the day before which helps both 1) get me into the mood for writing again and 2) make any small tweaks etc + catch typos. When I do the big edit at the end, I try to change something about how I physically read the draft (e.g. read on computer instead of phone, change the font) which helps shake up my brain I guess?
Betaing: I am deeply spoiled by my friends and endlessly grateful for them, lol. At minimum, I like having someone I can excitedly flail about my ideas with while I'm writing (usually multiple someones) and talk through stuff that might be stumping me (e.g. idk if it would be funnier if X or Y happened, hey do you think vampires can feel the cold), and then someone--often the same person but not always--do a full read-through after the fic is done. A lot of times, especially for longer stuff or when I'm feeling down on myself, I'll ask someone to beta and/or cheerread along with me while I write. And I bug them with lots of questions like "Is this landing for you? Do I need to slow down the dialogue here? Am I funny even a little bit?" and they offer feedback and/or encouragement. But also sometimes I get impatient and/or cannot tolerate concrit so I just fling it into the void without beta lol
Other stuff: it's also worth noting that I daydream about my projects constantly? Showering/laying in bed before or after sleep/driving places is all prime fic plotting time. If I'm listening to music, whatever song I'm listening to will probably become related to a fic. This isn't like, a conscious ~dedication~ thing: it's pure, unadulterated neurodivergent hyperfixation. Also, I rarely read other people's fic if I'm writing any of my own, bc for me the writing and reading circuits are quite different, but I re-read/re-watch the source material a lot.
I do also re-read my own fic a decent amount, partly because I genuinely enjoy my own writing and partly because I like noticing my own trends/recurring themes/etc which is easier to do if you take in your work later, at more of a distance. Reading people’s comments about what they enjoyed is also helpful, because it gives me a sense of what things land and what things don’t (or don’t get commented on as being a stand-out, at least). I don’t enjoy getting concrit outside of beta I’ve specifically asked for, but I very much enjoy hearing what people did like so I can do more of it.
Titling/Summaries: Usually I come up with a title partway through writing based on a song I've found to take inspiration from. I get really excited when I find a title, lol. I hate summaries very much except for when I love them? I semi-recently converted to the school of using a snappy quote from the fic to make the summary, which makes my job easier lol. I usually like picking quotes that are 1) relatively brief, 2) encapsulate the tone of the fic, and 3) not huge spoilers. Sometimes I'll write a line and go, "yup, that's gonna be the summary," which is fun.

tossing + turning + lumpy pillow???
Tossing and Turning: What parts of the writing process are you most comfortable with? Least?
Ok as far as I’m concerned there are at most 5 parts of the writing process, and even that’s pushing it. to wit: i. staring into space thinking ii. maybe writing notes but really that’s for nerds iii. writing it all down in preferably one go but maybe a few more if one must concede that ‘time’ exists iv. editing v. letting go/posting.
so i-iv, with the exception of ii depending on what kind of story it is, are the ones i’m most comfortable with. i do spend a lot of time editing and i generally really enjoy it, but it wouldn’t be much of a process without the preceding parts. i really enjoy the writing process, and it feels very free because it’s by hand/on paper, and one flow. but also the staring into space working it out part is great.
thus, the letting go/posting part is definitely the least comfortable! i mean i think letting go is hard partly bc the editing process is so lengthy so i’m stuck in the groove, but also posting is nerve wracking!
Lumpy pillow: What is the editing process like for you?
um completely normal, it’s everyone else who’s weird hahahah
ummm i don’t tend to do huge amounts of editing on the paper version, but how much’ll depend on the (length of the) story. if i’ve written it down in one single go, i might read through it once or twice before typing it up, and make some small edits. if i’ve had to split up writing it down, when i pick it back up i might read through what’s there already and make small edits, and i’m more likely to read over the whole before typing it up cos i’m worried it’s not cohesive.
i might edit a little as a type it up, but often i’ll undo that cos it’ll turn out that i wrote it like that for a reason, duh.
then once i’ve typed it all up, the first couple edit passes will mostly be for fixing typos. and then i guess it’s just....rereading through it a lottttt and identifying problems and fixing them?! i don’t really identify what the different rereads are addressing, but i think they naturally do focus on different things.
whenever i read through the first typed draft i fucking hate it. i think i’m subconsciously taking stock of all the things i want to fix but don’t yet know how to fix? i don’t make any notes in the doc, which i’m realising you people are probably going to think is odd ha ha.
i guess i often start with low hanging fruit? like fixing word choices, and punctuation. i’m quite free with how i write the paper draft, so i’ll do a lot of pruning down mad run-on sentences, as well as cutting repetition (if it’s basically the same sentiment just differently worded it’ll probably go, if there’s a pair of adjectives that mean the same thing one of those is probably getting trimmed etc).
often i’ll realise things are missing - scenes or sentiments or sentences. sometimes i find that quite hard to insert into a typed document though, so i might make paper notes and add them in from there. i normally find it easier to work out what’s missing and where it needs to go when i’m not looking at the doc?
i found my extra notes for (a) time to kill, which are in 2 different notebooks cos apparently i’m too lazy to carry one from the computer to the bedroom and back again (?). a few of which are small statements like: ‘feet?’ or ‘she didn’t drive there’, but there’s also several whole paragraphs which were subsequently added in to different sections.
also! i got really annoyed with my tendency to start stories in the present tense, then flip to the past to explain how we got there, then flipping back to the present to carry on the narrative, and that’s how time to kill was written too. i ended up ripping that second scene apart entirely, so instead it was like blah blah action and then rio being like blah blah blah and remembering what had happened, while blah blah blahing around in the present. which was, like, a challenge to edit! cos it was already written as a scene in the past followed by a scene in the present!
so there’s a few noted down transition sentences too. i think i was finding it hard to edit when LOOKING at it - cos I was like, well this doesn’t work...but i can’t work out how to fix it? and then when I was THINKING it through away from it, i was like ah oh ah ok - put this in there, and that here, yeah yeah yeah (this was in the bedroom notebook, maybe there’s a point to having two??)
anyway, sorry that got long! the point is: editing is fun but computers are bad

I am ready to share my WIP with people (yay) but I have so many questions. I remember when writing my Bachelor's thesis I could send it off to different people and they would each proofread different aspects (spelling, formal stuff, comprehension etc.) would that be a good tactic for fiction too? At what point should I consider hiring an editor when traditional publishing is my goal? Is it necessary to put something like a none disclosure agreement in front of everything I share? (1/2)
or does that make me look paranoid? And what is a good tool for sharing your work? I figured something like google docs would work well bc it makes sharing things via link easy but then again is it good when everybody can read all the critiques other people have? I also figured I would share one maybe two chapters at a time and add some questions at the end of each section for people to answer. I really don’t know what the protocol is here, would be grateful for some of your awesome advice
Guide: The Feedback Process
First, congratulations on getting to this point!
1) “When writing my Bachelor’s thesis I could send it off to different people and they would each proofread different aspects (spelling, formal stuff, comprehension etc.) would that be a good tactic for fiction too?”
Sort of… Everyone has a slightly different process, but here are the typical steps:
Alpha Readers
Many writers share their manuscript with a friend, family member, or writer friend after the first or second draft is complete. This person is known as an “alpha reader” because they’re the first eyes (besides your own) on your completed story. The alpha reader’s role is to give you first impressions of the story from the reader perspective. Since this is an early and often unedited draft, they don’t need to worry about issues like typos, grammar, punctuation, etc. If the story or something about it doesn’t quite work, it’s their job to let you know.
Critique Partner
Lots of writers choose to work with a critique partner, and sometimes more than one. Critique partners can be project specific, but usually they become part of a lasting partnership and your writing BFF. Your critique partner may even fulfill the role of alpha reader if you don’t have anyone else to do it. Their job is to give you thorough feedback on everything from conceptual and structural problems to plot holes and grammatical errors. Then you do the same for their manuscript when they’re ready, which is what makes it a partnership. Critique partners can be notoriously hard to find so don’t sweat it if you can’t find one.If you want to try, here are some places to look: online forums, critique partner match-ups (Maggie Stiefvater has one, and I tried to get one off the ground), writing groups, writing workshops, writing conferences, and social media. Again, don’t worry if you can’t find one. Lots of writers work without one.
Beta Readers
Beta readers are probably the most common method used for feedback prior to querying or self-publishing, and many writers do two or even three phases of beta reading. If you don’t have an alpha reader and/or critique partner, you can use beta readers to fulfill the same function. Otherwise, you may choose to only do a single beta read. Whatever works is fine. Beta readers are typically found among your bookish and writer friends. It’s pretty essential that they’re either avid readers, writers, or both. The depth of feedback you ask them to provide is up to you, but once again this is more of an overall feedback and not really the place for editing-related feedback. Some writers will provide their beta readers with short questionnaires to fill out afterward targeting some of the writer’s specific concerns, like “Did you connect with the main character?”
Side note: Wherever you go to find readers, it’s a good idea to try to establish a bit of a friendship with them before sending them your whole manuscript. If you meet them in person at a writing workshop or conference, talk to them in e-mail or on social media for a little bit before making the exchange. If you meet them in a forum or on social media, spend a little while interacting with them and getting to know them. Do the best you can to vet them based on the relationships they seem to have with other writers, how together they seem to be, who they know and what they do, etc. If you can find someone that other people seem to trust, you can feel confident that you can trust them, too.
2) “At what point should I consider hiring an editor when traditional publishing is my goal?”
Here’s the thing about professional editors: they cost a small fortune. Depending on the length of your story, you will need to be prepared to pay anywhere from $1,000 to $3,000, give or take.
If you are pursuing traditional publishing, don’t even worry about it. Just polish your manuscript to the best of your ability and you’re fine. Agents and publishers don’t expect your manuscript to be professionally edited. If you go through an agent (as most writers do since few publishers accept unsolicited manuscripts), they will help make sure your manuscript is extra polished, and if they sell it to a publisher, the publisher’s in-house editor will edit your manuscript anyway. Publishers pay such small advances these days, especially to debut authors, it would be silly for you to be out of pocket for a professional editor. If your story is amazing and your writing is strong, an agent will be interested even if there are a few typos or other issues. As long as it’s clear you made the effort to polish it as much as possible, that’s what matters.
If you are self-publishing, it gets a little bit trickier. I used to advocate always using a professional editor when self-publishing, but the reality is many indie authors can simply not afford to spend that kind of money on their book without going into debt. The reality is that you’re extremely unlikely to make that money back anytime soon, so if you can afford to make that kind of investment without any hope of a near-future return, then go for it. But if that kind of investment would be a hardship, don’t even bother with it. There are plenty of alternatives, including just making sure you have a crackerjack team of smart people who are willing to help get your manuscript as polished as possible.
3) “Is it necessary to put something like a non-disclosure agreement in front of everything I share? Or does that make me look paranoid?”
Non-Disclosure agreements are not the norm. If you’re working with alpha readers, beta readers, and critique partners, you simply ask them not to share your manuscript or any story details. And, again, if you’re dealing with a stranger, it’s a good idea to get to know them a little bit and do a little surreptitious vetting before you enter into any sort of exchange. If you’re working with a professional editor, it’s their job to read unpublished manuscripts, so they know better than to share your work or details about it.
Theft is extremely rare, but when it does happen it’s usually in situations where there was little to no vetting or establishment of a writerly friendship first. If you take the time to get to know someone a little bit first, you should have a pretty good idea of whether or not they’re someone you can trust.
4) “I figured something like google docs would work well bc it makes sharing things via link easy but then again is it good when everybody can read all the critiques other people have?”
Different people use different methods, but the most common seems to be Microsoft Word with its review feature. This allows the reader to make comments within the document without being able to change it and without others being able to see it. That’s the method I have used both as an author and a beta reader, as well as with my critique partners. Although, sometimes my CPs and I are lazy and we just use e-mail. I’ve never used Google Docs but I would definitely caution against allowing everyone to see each other’s feedback. When alpha readers, beta readers, and critique partners give you feedback, it’s for your eyes only unless you ask their permission to share it. So at the very least, you would need to warn everyone that their feedback will be viewable by everyone else, and that may not fly with some readers. Also, I would be worried about one person’s feedback influencing another person’s feedback. It just doesn’t seem like a good idea to me. If there’s a way you could do a separate Google Doc for each reader that only they have access to, that might be an alternative. Other programs I’ve heard of people using: Adobe Reader, iAnnotate, and WPS Writer. (Side Note: if you create a document that you e-mail to each reader, create a separate doc for each reader with their name in it. This way you don’t accidentally merge documents when you get them back.)
5) “I also figured I would share one maybe two chapters at a time and add some questions at the end of each section for people to answer.”
This is not the way it is typically done and I would caution against this method for a variety of reasons. Usually you would send the completed manuscript to your readers along with a target date for feedback to be returned. This allows readers to go at their own pace, which is preferable since some may choose to read the whole thing in one weekend while others may choose to do a chapter every couple days or so. Ultimately, it’s your job to make this process as easy on your readers as possible, which means giving them the ability to set their own pace. If you send it in chunks, you take away that ability and put added pressure on them. Plus, it creates a lot of extra communication and back and forth, which is not desirable.
6) Standard Protocol for Beta Readers
With alpha readers and established critique partners, the process tends to be a bit more personal since you probably know the person already. With new critique partners, you can establish whatever method works best for the two of you. But with beta readers, there’s a pretty standard process…
After you’ve gathered your beta reader team and have been given their e-mail addresses, you’ll compose an e-mail that can be sent separately to each one. This e-mail will thank them for volunteering as a beta, will outline what you are and aren’t looking for in beta feedback, and establish a deadline (preferably four to six weeks out.) Although Word Documents seem to be the most common, most writers offer alternatives for how feedback might be given. For example, you might say something like, “You’re welcome to leave feedback within each chapter, as you go, at the end of each chapter, or at the end of the manuscript.” You may also consider including a short questionnaire (ideally no more than 5-10 questions) that the beta reader can fill out at the end, in addition to whatever other feedback they provide. Give them any necessary instructions for that and let them know they can contact you at any point if they have any questions. Also, it’s a good idea to clarify your expectations should the person decide not to complete the beta read for whatever reason. Most writers will say something like, “If something comes up and you’re unable to complete this beta read, please be sure to let me know as soon as possible so I can find someone to take your place.” This way it’s clear it’s not a big deal if they can’t finish, and they know you won’t hold it against them. Finally, be sure to thank them again for participating.
The feedback will usually trickle in throughout the specified period. When someone sends you their feedback, simply reply with a big thanks and leave it at that. If you have a comprehension issue on some of their feedback and it seems like something critical, it’s generally okay to e-mail them and ask them for clarification, but this is something you should only do when absolutely necessary. Normally, you will not discuss a beta reader’s feedback with them. That feedback isn’t there for you to quibble with or otherwise defend against, and doing so will only ensure that this particular beta reader won’t want to work with you again in the future. You may get feedback that you disagree with, that’s difficult to hear, or is downright hurtful, but it’s up to you to figure out how to apply the feedback if at all. Remember: readers have all kinds of different opinions, and where one reader might say, “I didn’t find this character very believable,” other characters (LOL! *readers*) may not feel the same way. If two or more people express the same opinion, it’s worth considering more deeply. If more than two do, it’s definitely something you’ll need to take a look at.
I hope that demystifies the whole process for you a bit!

Random Writing Tidbit… Maybe?…
… Okay, so I know I was musing about a vampire/Castlevania AU before, but that was just me puttering around in my brain, but then @thornstone8773 made this post and my brain was like ‘ah, yes, thoughts…’
Anyway, that weird intro aside, I wrote a thing.
I don’t know if this is a preview or what, bc I’m mostly in a writing rut atm so… I dunno. Hopefully I’ll find some more inspiration somewhere. ^^;
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Jin.”
The voice sounded familiar, but also very far away. His throat felt like it was filled with sand, and there was a buzzing in all of his senses, prickly like needles and thick like wool, crawling into his ears, eyes, even up his nose and seeping into his skin. He felt so… Dried up, like he was shrivelling away into dust, swallowed up by the buzz.
He’d tried, he’d really tried. But there was just something about humans that made him so… Uncomfortable. He knew it was possible to feed without killing the person, but he couldn’t even get to the biting. Every time he got close… He’d start thinking of his mother.
But not feeding… Like a full vampire, he couldn’t die from thirst, and his human half did mean it took much longer before he descended into a frenzy… But it had been so long he was right on the brink.
“Jin.”
A hand came grabbed his arm, dragging him up and propping him against someone’s side. He tried to struggle, but was still in the stages of withdrawal where he was too weak to move properly. The arm wrapped around his shoulders, the hand moving to the back of his head, holding it gently and lightly bending it forward.
Then there was something in front of his face, something that smelled good, so good. His eyes cracked open to find a wrist there, already with blood on it, and the faint, crescent-shape of another bite. The blood smelled amazing, but at the same time… Slightly different. Off. Almost like it was… Old. Not quite as good as a human’s. But if it wasn’t a human’s…
He didn’t remember biting down, but he distantly heard a soft sound beside him. Once he started drinking, he couldn’t stop, hands flying up to grip the arm and hold it still, hunching over, biting harder. It felt so much better already that he didn’t care how desperate he was acting—but still just inhuman enough that his heart could still bear it.
It seemed like only moments when he felt someone shaking his shoulder. “Kid. That’s enough. Stop.” A bit of a harder shake when he didn’t let up. “Jin. That’s enough.” He tried to ignore it again, but then they were pulling at his collar, and, “Jin, that’s enough, he can’t take any more!” With the buzzing gone from his ears, he couldn’t pretend to not know the voice.
He let them pull him away. His fangs came out messily, tearing the bite—but not as much as it would have with a human. His senses began to return to normal, the intense focus of feeding fading away, and the enveloping cloud of thirst dissipated. Sighing deeply, he found himself enjoying clarity for the first time in… He had no idea how long.
Then the person beside him slumped sharply against his side, stirring him out of the moment and making him look—and what he saw made him freeze.
His father was collapsed against his shoulder, eyes half closed, trembling slightly—and it was Horobi’s arm he was still clutching with both hands. With a yelp, he dropped his father’s wrist, and almost jerked away—until he realised that if he did, Horobi would hit the ground. In a panicked rush, he twisted back around, wrapping his arms around his father’s shoulders to hold him up.
The hand on his collar released, its owner hurrying around to Horobi’s other side—and, like the voice had indicated, it was Ikazuchi, one of his father’s two right hands. The other vampire took a moment to pick up and wrap a scarf around Horobi’s bloodied wrist tightly, making certain it was secure. Once that was done, he paused to check the older vampire’s face—finding Horobi practically unconscious, he carefully pulled the other arm over his shoulders, glancing over at Jin. “We need to move him.”
Still slightly dazed, head still spinning for a new reason, Jin rushed to do his best to get his father’s other arm over his shoulders, taking care to avoid pressing on the bite, hunching to get on the same height as the much shorter Ikazuchi. Working together, they pulled Horobi up off the floor and slowly stumbled their way over to the large sofa. After some fumbling, they got him comfortably laid out on the cushions, folding his arms over his torso.
Jin hovered by his father’s side, gripping Horobi’s fingers tightly, eyes flicking between the bandage on his father’s wrist and his face, somehow even paler than usual. His shoulders shook slightly, buckling forward, his teeth sinking into his own lip this time. “Horobi… I…”
“It’s not your fault.” He looked up sharply at Ikazuchi, who was standing by the end of the sofa, one hand sitting on the armrest near Horobi’s head, watching the older vampire’s face rather than looking at Jin. “He should have stopped you before this happened.” With a sigh, the hand moved to smooth lightly over Horobi’s hair. “He’s never been very good at taking care of himself.” A pause, and Ikazuchi shot Jin and awkward glance. “Though… I guess you already know that.”
Jin’s eyes drifted back to his father’s face. He did. Painfully so. Day after day. Somehow, though, this… Hurt more.
While it was true that there was no way he could have permanently damaged Horobi, not exactly—vampires couldn’t die of blood loss, or anything like that… He had weakened him severely—his father would be incapacitated for a while, he guessed, vulnerable until he could hunt himself. And… He had hurt Horobi. It didn’t matter that it wasn’t physically lasting. He was never going to be able to forget it.
“You should get some fresh air.” Ikazuchi’s voice snapped him back to reality. “I’ll stay with him.”
“I…” Jin straightened quickly, rubbing the back of his hand across his eyes, worried they might’ve been starting to water, “I’m-”
“Jin.” A hand came down on his shoulder, turning him to look into Ikazuchi’s firm stare, “Listen to me. If you stay, you’re just going to keep blaming yourself. There’s nothing you can do right now, and you’ve been holed up in here for a while. You need to get out and move around.” The hand on Jin’s shoulder squeezed gently. “I’ll stay with Horobi until he’s recovered enough we can get him back to his room. If necessary, I’ll call Naki.” Half of a half hearted grin. “This isn’t our first time dealing with him overdoing it.” When Jin still hesitated, he sighed. “You’re not like us, kid. Vampires are fine being shut up in dark, dusty places, but you’re half human. You need air. Sunlight—well. Clouds.” Ikazuchi’s hand moved to ruffle his hair gently. “Don’t worry about your father. He’s tougher than most other vampires his age.”
Jin still hesitated, shifting on his feet, glancing anxiously at Horobi. It was true there was nothing he could do, especially not while his father was unconscious, but still… The idea of leaving Horobi felt like it was digging the stake even deeper into his chest.
“The instant he’s feeling better, I’ll send someone to fetch you.” Ikazuchi promised. “Go. I’ll look after him. We can cross the other bridges when everyone’s in good health. Everything is fine.”
Jin waffled for a little longer, but Ikazuchi remained resolute. Finally, he reluctantly conceded to go, though not before he grabbed a blanket off the bed and draped it over his father, tucking it around him. Horobi mumbled his name faintly in his unconscious state as he did, and he nearly broke down crying right there, only just barely remembering to keep it together because Ikazuchi was watching.
In the end, he fled the room as quickly as he could, keeping his head low—partially to hide the tears welling in his eyes and also to avoid Ikazuchi’s grin. It was a little too constant, and gave him the gnawing suspicion that it was fake. Ikazuchi just watched him go, even giving a small wave, but even that didn’t feel particularly reassuring.
Closing the door behind him, Jin couldn’t shake the cloud of dread that only seemed to be getting thicker and thicker—he’d hurt Horobi, and he had a creeping feeling that everything was very far from fine.

steve rogers x reader
word count: 1k
summary: reader has a snow day, steve is there to keep her warm
a/n: bc i have another snow day today and craving a fluffy snuggly steve! i wrote and edited this today, so excuse typos/grammar and why it’s shorter than i usually like to write. also i write so much fluff jeez, i used to be queen of angst what happened?! i hope you enjoy and know that feedback is greatly appreciated!
Tumblr media
Frosted window panes peeked through drawn curtains, silent streets, and warm breath on your neck.
That’s what you woke too.
Steve’s fluttering eyelashes, his blush pink lips parted in relaxation, his hair mussed with sleep and thick arms cocooning you to his chest.
That’s what you first see when you turn over.
You’re surrounded by him. The scent of his body wash (pine) and something that's just so uniquely him. His skin, that’s so soft you think the serum must have played a part in encasing him in silk (though you do routinely see him applying lotion after showers). The comfort of having him so close, so warm and keeping you safe. Even in his sleep he keeps a protective and firm grip on your body.
A small smile plays on your lips as you delicately trace Steve’s unconscious features. When your fingers begin to dance through his hair, you catch red numbers cutting through the grey wash of the room.
9:23 AM.
Your serene moment was instantly ruined.
You began to scramble up, pushing yourself onto your elbows so you could jump out of bed, but Steve’s arms held you in place.
“Steve, Stevie, come on,” Your voice was stricken with panic as your shook his bare shoulder.
“Sleep, baby.” Steve muttered into his pillow, doing his best to pull you back down to the bed, his strength helping him succeed in his goal.
“Steve, I’m so fucking late, I have to get up.” You continued to try and squirm out of his hold with no luck.
“You got a call,” He yawned, pulling you snuggly into his chest, resting his chin on the crown of your head giving you no way of escape, “you were still asleep, I answered. The university canceled class because of the snow.”
You felt immediate relief wash over you, “You couldn’t have told me that first?” You slapped his arm lightly.
Steve chuckled and kissed your hair, “You’re cute.”
“Flattery will get you nowhere.” You huffed, nuzzling deeper into his embrace, your actions doing anything but matching your words.
“Sure it doesn't.” He yawned.
“Now sleep, please. I’m enjoying my extra time with you this morning and I’d appreciate if you did the same.”
“So bossy.” You giggle lightly, shutting your eyes and letting the excess sleep still looming in your body take over.
Later, you woke to soft lips pressing themselves to your cheeks, neck, forehead, anywhere but your own lips. Fluttering your eyes open you found Steve, bathed in crisp white light from the windows, hair still ruffled, skin still soft, lips still pink, but now his eyes were shining down at you with love and adoration.
“There she is.” He said, giving you a soft grin.
“I thought you wanted me to sleep.” You sighed, giving a fake pout and covering your face with your eyes in an effort to block out the bright light.
“I did, but I missed you so here we are.” Steve smirked above you, removing your hands so you could see his sly expression.
You did your best to hold off the smile that was trying to force its way onto your lips, to no avail. Watching this facial journey you were on only made Steve’s adoring expression deepen as he finally came down to press his lips to yours. You hummed contently against his mouth as you ran your fingers over his neck and back to his shoulders.
“Don’t you have work today?” You pulled away just enough to speak your realization.
“Shh, don’t ruin the moment.” Steve replied, continuing to give you sweet kisses.
Once he found out you had a snow day, he had made the decision to work from home. Steve knew he’d get far less done, but a cozy day spent inside with his love was far too good to pass up. He’d deal with Hill’s teasing later.
Steve’s lips soon descended onto your neck, the scrape of his bread and the warmth of his tongue creating the most delicious sensation. Releasing something between a whimper and a sigh, you lulled your head to the side to give him better access. It was then that you saw that Steve had opened the curtains, putting on full display that blanket of snow that had accumulated around the Tower in the night.
“Wow,” You hummed, “It really did come down last night.”
“Told ya,” Steve spoke wetly into your neck, causing you to giggle.
You continued to watch the sparklingly snow outside your window as Steve nuzzled and kissed your body.
“Don’t think I woulda let you leave if they hadn’t cancelled your classes,” Steve revealed, “Too cold for ya to be out there.”
While the thought of you bundled up in countless layers of clothes was adorable, his heart constricted at you being so cold. Why would he subject you to the harsh winters when he could keep you safe and snuggly with him? It was a no brainer.
You giggled again, “So I would have just emailed my professors that I would be missing class because my boyfriend thought it was too cold outside?”
Steve grinned wide against your clavicle, “No, you would tell them that Captain America prohibited you from leaving this bed.”
“Oh, so you’re ok with pulling the Captain America card in this scenario?” You beamed, pulling him up so his face was hovering over yours.
Steve was infamous for only name dropping when absolutely necessary. One time you got a parking ticket for being five minutes over the amount of time you paid for, and he refused to help you out with it. Talking about no matter how silly it was, you broke a rule and now you’d have to pay for it. He just rolled his eyes when you coughed under your breath about The Accords.
“It’s a very important scenario, darling. My job is too keep you warm.” Steve replied, his Captain voice coming through.
“Good thing you’re amazing at that job, just like every other one you do.” You say lovingly up at him.
Steve blushes deep your sweet comment and gently leans to press his forehead to your, “Anything for the woman I love.”
Your stomach fills with butterflies and your skin erupts in goosebumps, “I love you too.”
The rest of the day is spent under the covers, the television playing idly into the background as you and Steve are wrapped up in each. Snow gently falls outside your window, and Steve gets absolutely no work done.

Tumblr media
Prompt: “Do you even know what you've done to me?”
Fandom: Star Trek (AOS)
Pairing: Jim Kirk x Reader
Words: 2,319
Warnings: Language, mentions of sex
A/N: It’s an angsty one because I love drama. Sorry for any typos, it’s almost midnight while I’m rereading this and probably missed a few errors. Also, I will have a fluffy Jim Kirk story (bc I’m still not over him) up by next friday if I’m able to finish editing this weekend. For the meantime, enjoy!!
“You alright there, kid?” McCoy asked, tearing you away from the thoughts inside your head and bringing you back to reality. “What’s troubling you?”
Shrugging a shoulder, you picked up your PADD and resumed the work you were doing on there. This wasn’t the first time your boss had caught you staring off into the distance and you definitely knew this wasn’t going to be the last.
“It’s nothing,” you said, the lie easily rolling off your tongue. “You put me through back-to-back shifts and it’s wearing me out.”
“You sure? I mean, you’re the one who requested for longer hours but if it’s too much–”
You shook your head and gave him a tight-lipped smile. Ever since you joined the Enterprise, you found yourself being close to Leonard. He was good friend to you and you enjoyed working with the doctor when he’s not being his cantankerous self.
“No, I’m fine. I’ll get use to it,” you simply replied as your attention falls back to your device in hand.
“You’re not picking up more hours because you’re trying to avoid someone on the ship are you?”
You shot your eyes toward Leonard and chuckled nervously. “What do you mean?”
“You know what I mean.”
“I don’t know what you’re trying to say.”
Shifting uncomfortably in your seat, you were ready to bolt out of the office at any given moment. You had a feeling this conversation was going to happen sooner than later. Leonard McCoy was not clueless and you would be foolish to think so.
“Jim’s been asking about you.”
The sound of his name brought a sudden dryness to your throat. You haven’t seen the man since you walked out of his quarters in the middle of the night a few weeks ago. “Oh, what about?”
“You know he’s worried about you,” Leonard revealed and you couldn’t bring yourself to believe that statement. “What ever feelings you have for him, he needs to know.”
“I-I don’t understand,” you stammered out. “What feelings? Jim and I are just friends.”
Leonard pursed his lips. “Look, I know about what’s going on between the two of you. Jim might seem fine in the hallways but in actuality, he’s a mess. You have to talk to him.”
“There’s nothing going on between us,” you tried to convince him but it was a lost cause.
“Not anymore as far as I know. (Y/N), please know that I care about you and as much as I hate to admit, I care about Jim too. You two have been off lately and from what I’ve observed, it's affecting the way you work.”
“What do you mean? I've been doing great here. I’m looking after patients left and right, and despite how busy I am, I was able to finish up last week’s paper works early.”
You heard him sigh deeply through his nose. “That's not the point I wanted to make. All I am saying is that you and Jim need to talk this one out. I'm not taking anyone's side but I would very much like my two friends to make up and stop avoiding each other.”
You were speechless, the tears prickling your eyes as you thought of the next words to say.
“I-I have to go. I’ll see tomorrow,” you managed to say before quickly exiting Leonard’s office and walking out of the Medbay.
Your heart pounded hard against your chest and you willed yourself not to cry. All you wanted in the beginning was no-strings-attached sex and it was working out well with Jim. That was until you started developing feelings for the Captain and it seemed to be just one sided.
No one was supposed to know about the relationship. It had been a well-kept secret for nearly six months but it was slowly eating you up. Your feelings went beyond what you had originally anticipated when you began staying the night at Jim’s. You admired his strength and how passionate he was at his job. Despite his flaws, Jim was a good man. He’s smart, funny, sweet, handsome, understanding, charismatic– the list of words to describe him would be endless but to sum it all up, you were in love with him.
And then Jim died. You had never felt so empty when his body was brought into the Medbay and you had never felt so broken during the two long, agonizing weeks after McCoy injected him with Khan’s blood. No one knew for sure if he would wake up and each passing day tore you apart.
Losing him, even for the short time that felt like an eternity, made you realize how strong your feelings were and it scared you. You had never been in love like this before and the fact that Jim sacrificed himself without a second thought made you believe that something like that could happen again.
So you did the best thing you were good at, you ran away.
You ran away from the fact that you had fallen in love with Jim. You ran away from your chance to tell him the truth. You ran away to avoid facing your fears and you didn’t want to stop running. It was all too much for you.
You wanted to forget about him. You wanted to convince yourself that those kisses behind closed doors meant nothing and it was all an illusion. It was a secret affair that you two had and it ran its course. You didn’t really love him and you were just lonely.
What you felt for him was lust. Just pure, all-consuming lust and nothing more.
You repeated those words in your head when you stepped out of the turbolift and they kept replaying on your way back to your cabin. You could hear them clearly as you shut your eyes in bed and they even followed you into your dreams. Those words brought you a restless night because deep down, you knew that they weren’t true.
The Medbay was slow today. You were albeit glad that Leonard hasn’t cornered you into the exam room you were practically hiding in yet so that you two can continue the conversation you stormed out of.
As you sterilized that last of the hypodermic needles, you hear the sound of someone entering the room and then locking the door behind them. “Len, I swear to god if you bring it up one more time–”
You froze when your eyes met the unmistakable blue ones of James Kirk. Suddenly, the air had become thick as Jim slowly approached you with hands behind his back and a slight frown on his face.
“You’ve made yourself hard to find throughout the day, (Y/N),” he began once he got to you.
“I’ve been busy,” you said with such a small voice that you weren’t sure if he had heard you or not. “What are you doing here?”
“I need to talk to you.”
You glanced down to the floor, avoiding Jim’s strong gaze. “I think I made it clear that night that things were done.”
“No, you didn’t,” he responded sternly and it threw you off. “We slept together that night and by morning, you were gone. I deserve a bit of an explanation there because I thought everything was going well between us. Did I do something wrong?”
You held back a response. None of this was his fault. It was merely your actions and your feelings that fucked up the relationship you had with Jim and you were almost sure that things would never be the same.
“It just didn't work out, Jim. I can't do the sleeping around anymore,” you answered as you fumbled with the edge of your blue uniform. “Besides, we are both busy now and it's best if we focus on our jobs.”
Before you could dash out of the room, Jim reached forward and grasped your hand into his. The touch alone was enough to make you stop in the middle of your tracks and tilt your head up to meet Jim in the eye. “I don't believe that's the entire reason why.”
“Jim–” you tried pulling yourself away from him but to no avail. He wasn't letting you off that easy. “Please, I don't want to talk about this right now.”
“Do you even know what you've done to me?” He questioned you and the slight crack in his voice brought tears to your eyes. “The past year has been hell for me with Khan and almost losing everyone on this ship. You're the only one who kept me going and all of a sudden, you just ran away.”
“Don't,” you whispered as Jim inched closer to you. He let go of your hands to hold you by the sides of your face, making it impossible to leave his unwavering stare.
“Whatever it is, I want to fix it. I don’t know exactly how you feel about me, but I’m comfortable enough to say that I love you. I’ve been in love with you for a long time now and I want to have something more than just fooling around.”
He wiped the stray tear that escaped as you spoke. “Jim, I lost you. You were gone and it tore me apart. I love you too, but I can't go through all of that again. I know you would give your life to protect the crew but I don't want to lose you that way.”
“I know and I’m sorry. But you were on the ship and we were going to crash– I had to save you. I had to make sure you were going to make it out alive,” he admitted, and you saw nothing but all honesty in his eyes. “Please, let’s give this a try. We’ll take it as slow as you want. I just want to be able to hold you again.”
It was difficult for you to find your voice as Jim slowly leaned in. You fought the strong urge to close what little distance was left between the two of you. Breathing in his intoxicating scent, you could feel him holding you steady by your waist, the silence in the room becoming too deafening.
“Please,” he repeated, his lips brushing softly against yours and you gently pushed him away.
Jim stumbled as you backed away from him, your chest heaving as your tears blurred your vision. You were crying in front of him and in that moment, all you wanted to do was disappear.
“I’m scared, Jim,” you spluttered through your sobs. “I’ve never felt this way before and I don’t know what to do.”
“It’s okay,” he assured you as he neared you once again. “This is all new to me, too. We can figure this out.”
“What if we can’t? What if something bad happens again?”
“Then we fight through it together.”
Jim silently pleaded and you had to make a decision. You knew that in relationships, you had to take risks and there were certainly a lot more risks to take because of your job in Starfleet. However, you wanted to be brave– you wanted to be brave for Jim. You’ve spent so much of your life running away from your problems that you’ve never had the chance to stand up and fight for what you believed in.
And what you believed in right now was you and Jim.
“Let’s not focus on the ‘what ifs.’ Let’s not think about the bad stuff that may or may not happen and only look forward to the good. We can’t live our lives worrying about things all the time.”
Jim’s hand lifted your chin up, his gaze locked onto you as he tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. “I love you, (Y/N). I know that this started off as a way to blow off some steam but trust me when I say that this has become so much more. I want to hold your hand out in the hallways. I want to be able to walk into the Medbay and see how your day is going. I want to kiss you without having the fear of someone catching us. I don’t want this to be a secret anymore. ”
“I want that, too.” you said truthfully. “I want it more than anything.”
Jim’s lips were dangerously close to yours and you let them be. “Good, because I need this.”
He pressed his lips against yours and you almost immediately kissed him back. Cradling your face with his hands, you wound your arms around his neck as he held you close. He nipped on your bottom lip while you ran the palm of your hand up and down his chest.
Before things got heated, a knock on the door sounded and the two of you pulled away flushed and panting. Once you straightened out your uniforms that were loosen up by wandering hands, you called out for whoever it was to come in.
“Bones,” Jim greeted as the CMO entered the exam room. “How are ya, buddy?”
“I’m just dandy,” Leonard replied. “You two made up?”
You looked over to Jim who simply smiled at you. “Yeah, we’re good now.”
“Great,” your boss said in relief. “I’m happy for you both but I would suggest doing whatever it was you were trying to do some place else. This is my Medbay and I do not condone this type of inappropriate behavior over here.”
“No worries, Bones. We’ll get out of your hair,” Jim chuckled, grasping your hand into his before leading you out of the room.
“Wait, my shift is not over yet,” you pointed out and Jim halted in his walking. “Len’s gonna chew me out if I leave now.”
“So, you would rather spend time with Bones than me?”
Playfully rolling your eyes, you take his hand and pulled him towards the turbolift. “You win this time, Kirk.”

Wonwoo!Soulmate AU
requested: Could I please request a Wonwoo Soulmate! AU? Thanks for writing and sharing your hard work with all of us ~~~
thank u for the request and aa sorry, this was probably requested 250 yrs ago but hey! better late than never!! also, i havent proof read this yet so sorry for any mistakes and typos!! i will edit it later!!
u were super excited bc its ur 18th birthday tomorrow !! and that means u will finally get to kno who ur soulmate is !!!!!
basically when u turn 18 the first thing that was said to u by ur soulmate is written on ur wrist
and honestly u didn’t even care that it was ur birthday all u cared abt was knowing who ur soulmate is
it was killing u not knowing who ur soulmate is while ur older friends, such as wonwoo, already know who their soulmate is
although for some reason wonwoo will not let u meet his soulmate or show u the words written on his wrist ?? he always says that it’s a secret and that his soulmate is too busy for u to meet them which was strange
but u didn’t think abt it too much its wonwoo’s life and his soulmate,,, even though u lowkey have had a huge crush on him since yall were like 15 yrs old,, but whatever
anyways u went to sleep that night feelin very anxious but excited bc of this whole soulmate thing
fast forward to the morning,,,
u were woken up by loud cheering and people singing “happy birthday” while holding a small cupcake and throwing around balloons
the culprits of the singing and the balloons were ur family and a few best friends including wonwoo!
u were so surprised bc u weren’t expecting to be woken up to this and u almost started tearing up bc u were touched that they even did this until one of ur close friends yelled out “sO WHAT IS WRITTEN ON UR WRIST???”
u couldn’t believe that u almost forgot since u were thinking about this moment since u found out about soulmates
u slowly looked down towards ur wrist to see a huge ass sentence written on ur wrist “i accidentally stepped on ur dogs foot does he understand it was an accident??”
and u literally gASPED OUT LOUD bc u remember who said this to u
a little flashback,,,
ur 14 yrs old and were walking your dog at the dog park while ur parents watched nearby
and a boy ran past u and must have accidentally stepped on ur dogs tail bc ur dog yelped
the boy literally ran back to u so fast,, he apologised to the dog and said to u “i accidentally stepped on ur dogs foot does he understand it was an accident??”
and u laughed a little and said “im sure he understands that it was an accident!!” and then bent down to pat ur dogs head
u stood back up and looked at the boy properly,,, u thought that he was actually kinda cute
“thank god i didn’t want ur dog thinking that im a monster!! anyways uhh,, im wonwoo! whats urname? lets be friends!” he held his hand out for u to shake
u smiled at him and shook his hand “my name is y/n! its nice to meet u too”
flashback over,,
ur soulmate… is wonwoo
ucouldn’t believe that the guy that u liked for 4 years is ur soulmate and u wondered why he didn’t tell u this when he found out on his 18th birthday
it did make sense as to why he never told u anything about his soulmate though and the fact that u could never meet up with them
“so?? who was it??” ur parent asked obviously getting impatient with u
u looked up at them and ur eyes found their way to wonwoo
u both locked eyes and u held ur breath for a second bc ur soulmate is literally so breathtaking it would have to take u 100 yrs for u to come to terms that hes actually ur soulmate
“my soulmate…” u started,,, “is wonwoo.”
uR FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE LITERALLY SHOOKETH and so are u !!!! u were lowkey wishin for this to happen but didnt think it actually would
wonwoo smiled at u and shows his wrist which says “im sure he understands that it was an accident!!” the first words that u had ever said to him...
u were curious as to why he kept it a secret from u and he replied with “i wanted it to be a surprise for u,, this day is a rlly big day and i didnt want to ruin it for u”
u rolled ur eyes and got out of ur bed,, not caring that u probably have bad morning breath and look like a mess bc hes seen u like this so many times
ur friends and fam were lowkey watchin ur every move at this point
u cupped wonwoo’s face and said “knowing that ur my soulmate in advance wouldnt have ruined my 18th birthday it would have made it even better. but thank u for thinking of me im so glad ur my soulmate”
wonwoo’s smile widens as he looks into ur eyes “im glad ur my soulmate too”
he slowly leans down and kisses u softly while ur family and friends were giggling n cheering u both on
u pulled away from the kiss and smiled at them bc they were so adorable supporting ur relationship like that
in this moment,,, u were really happy and hoped that there were many more happy moments to come in the future

As Beautiful As You
Can I make a request? Ethan getting v self conscious and hating himself bc he thinks he's ugly and Mark sees a shit ton on harmful acne treatment stuff in the bathroom at Eth’s and tells Eth not to use them. eth tells Mark he has no choice bc he's ugly and Mark talkd to him about self esteem and how he's not ugly at all. I'm sorry if this isn't something u like you don't have to do it and I'm sorry for typos and if this is annoying
[Don’t worry, B, I fixed your typos uvu]
It wasn’t anything bad, necessarily. Ethan knew some of these products were extremely conspicuous, but it still didn’t erase the fact that he knew the truth. He felt like it was the truth. It had to be. It only made sense to him.
“I’m ugly,” Ethan whispered quietly. Mark paused in the middle of his sentence to look at Ethan with a surprise expression.
  “W-what?”
“I’m ugly, Mark,” Ethan said, louder this time, “you want to know why I bought all this?” Ethan continued, grabbing a few of the bottles that Mark had emptied without his consent, “I use these because i’m ugly! I’m hideous, Mark!”
Ethan threw the bottles, clattering across the bathroom floor. He began to leave, angry at Mark before he felt his wrist yanked forcefully back by Mark. The older man began to say something before Ethan slapped him across the face. Mark blinked for a second before Ethan punched him in the chest and then proceeded to jab at Mark’s throat. Mark, stunned by this, held his throat, the sting suddenly coming to him as he saw Ethan’s furious eyes.
“Don’t tell me what is and isn’t good for me.” Ethan walked away with that, leaving Mark to massage his throat by how much it suddenly hurt. Mark looked around at the few bottles that were on the ground and back at the ones that still lay in the sink.
It had been a few days since Mark found all the dangerous acne treatment products in Ethan’s bathroom and the two haven’t spoken a word since. The tensions grew between them in the office, leaving an uneasy feeling in the room.
Mark had told Amy and Ethan supposedly told Tyler. Tyler cornered Mark at some point that day to have a word with him.
“Listen, I know what happened between you and Ethan--”
“I just care about him, Ty. You can’t blame me for caring about him. He’s doing more harm than good all because of the stupid shit we say,” Mark whispered, feeling agitated that Tyler would probably be Ethan’s messenger.\
“I know, I know. I completely agree with you. But I can’t- I can’t just change that. Sure we live together but I don’t know how to convince him otherwise. I suggest that you do that. Tell him that it’s wrong.”
“I already tried, and now he’s giving me the silent treatment,” Mark replied, looking past Tyler to see Ethan working on editing a video.
“Try again. Don’t be as parenting as before. Be more of a friend than a boss,” Tyler explained, looking down at Tyler with a sympathetic look. He patted his shoulder and they went back to their work. Ethan had unplugged his headphones momentarily to hear bits and pieces of the conversation.
“Hey, Ethan?” Mark asked, as they began to leave for the day, “can I talk to you for a second?”
“No,” Ethan replied, bitterness coming from his mouth sharply. Everyone else in the room glanced at Ethan before looking away when he noticed their eyes. “Fine.”
Everyone in the room began to pack up and left, leaving the two alone. Ethan leaned against the desk, looking down at his shoes to avoid Mark’s eyes.
“What do you want,” he asked, voice sharp and clipped.
“I’m not apologizing for throwing away that... that toxic shit in those bottles. But I am apologizing for not being a better friend.”
Ethan raised his head at this, looking at Mark with a questionable face.
“I’ve always been a dick to you about... y’know your acne and I just... I never realized. Sometimes I have no filter and i’m stupid. I’m so stupid for being mean. I never meant to hurt you like that, or drive you to the point where you’re just hurting yourself because of some dumb shit I said,” Mark confessed, staring at the floor.
  “Mark--”
“No, Ethan, let me finish. I just... I think you’re an amazing person. Really, I do. You’re so great and you’re so goddamn attractive, holy shit are you beautiful,” Mark said, now pacing around the room to not look jittery, “and I just... it’s all about self-esteem. Y’know, It’s all about how you feel about yourself and I want you to feel like you matter. All of you. Every single bit of you matters. You’re a beautiful human being and everything about you is so spectacular and I’m an idiot for--”
  “MARK.”
Mark looked at Ethan this time, seeing his face had softened. The younger man slowly walked up to Mark, they stood facing each other for a second. Mark let out a breath that Ethan could feel.
“You didn’t let me finish. I was going to add on how--”
Ethan silenced Mark by leaning in and kissing him. Head on. It was a risk on Ethan’s part and a surprise on Mark’s. After a while, they stopped. Ethan pulled back barely an inch away, they analyzed each other’s faces before they went back in, with more passion.
Ethan wrapped his hands around Mark’s head, while the other hugged Ethan closer to him. They kissed slowly, passionately, endearingly. The sound that came from the room was of their light kisses and occasional shift in movements.
After breaking apart fully, Ethan taking a small step back, Mark gave him a smile.
“I... I know,” Ethan whispered, “I get t-that I should love myself and... yeah... I guess I just wanted to change because... I thought you didn’t -or at least you wouldn’t- really notice me. And I mean, really notice me.”
“No, no no no, of course I noticed you, Eth. Of course I do. How could I not pay attention to someone as beautiful as you?” Mark asked, moving closer to Ethan to brush a hair out of his face, “you don’t ever have to change for me. I don’t want you to change for me. You’re beautiful to me because that’s who you are. I love Ethan, not some fucked up version of him.”
Ethan nodded his head and felt himself almost tear up at the words. Mark shushed him as he pulled him into his chest, rubbing his back as reassurance. Ethan willed himself not to cry, and he eventually looked up at Mark, pulling apart for a second. Ethan moved in for another kiss that Mark met him with. Mark intertwined their fingers.
“Let’s get out of here, huh? We can get some grub,” Mark said, leading Ethan down the stairs and flicking all the lights off before they left the office. Was it happily ever after? Probably not. But now they had each other, and that’s what matters.
