Development of the RMN Series
A recent ask got me thinking about how I developed my set of Robot Masters over the years, which ones were made earliest, which ones came later, design elements that changed over time, etc. So figured I could compile some of that here.
Tumblr media
High School Era
The earliest one I made was Vegas Man. I've always had a bit of a fascination with playing cards, so I wanted to theme a Robot Master around that sort of idea, I definitely wanted to make card suits part of his design (I don't think I'd seen RM&B by that point, so I was unfamiliar with Magic Man). His design changed a bit over time, gaining some slight western theming, as well as a change to his weapon, the Casino Shield. The earliest version was an actual physical circular shield he wore on one arm, designed to look like a roulette wheel.
Next up was Bow Man. I think I was somewhat inspired by RMs like Knight Man and Yamato Man that were equipped with solid "real" weapons. Sword Man might have been on the list by that point as well, come to think of it. I figured an archer robot could fit right in. My mind immediately went to Robin Hood as a design base, an overall medieval look. It took some time to come up with a design that carried that feel but looked "robot armor" enough, but I'm fairly pleased with the current iteration.
Third in order was a very early version of Glass Man. I had the overall design elements, and solid idea of how I wanted his weapon, the Shatter Shard, to work. Earlier versions were more solidly based on more colorful stained glass, but I could never really come up with a solid design that I liked, they all just came out looking too complicated or just an overall shape I didn't like. As such, design for him kind of sat on the bench for awhile.
Fourth was Met Man. This one seemed like an obvious design to go for, as I always liked the Met / Metool / Metall enemies from the series, a longtime favorite. His design is probably the overall least changed from conception to current iteration. Earlier designs had the usual line and + mark on his shoulder pad "helmets" as well. The artist who drew the usual reference art I show for my RMs, Alex, drew him without those markings on the shoulders, and honestly I think that looks better, less cluttered. (I know I just recently posted his art of my RMs, but I put it up above at the start of this post for easy reference, and hey, I love the art and was honored to receive it, so I like showing it off, haha) I think the biggest change Met Man got was getting armed with a pickaxe, a design that came about when I started getting into the MMBN series and wanted to get a bit of Mettaur virus design in there.
College Era
While at Full Sail, my habit of doodling in the margins of my notes continued, and along the way, more custom RMs were born.
Fifth up and starting this period was Devil Man. I wanted a fiery volcano stage, but wanted to go with a less standard fire based idea. I had the idea of an RM using a grappling hook to get around the dangerous volcanic tunnels, and that idea ended up taking the form of a sharp, pointed devil-style tail. I didn't really have a solid personality in mind for him, though the actual visual design came along fairly quickly. Alex again gave me something that I adopted as canon for this RM, in his drawing of Devil Man, he was depicted "throwing the horns," so now I imagine him to be a major metalhead, headbanging on the job as he listens to his favorite heavy metal music.
Sixth in line was Origami Man. Origami is an art form I always liked, my mum had a lot of books on the subject, with step by step instructions for various creations. I knew I wanted to do something with that. The overall design gave me trouble, figuring out something that truly looked like origami armor. The pallet was something else that gave me trouble, but in the end, I opted for a softer pastel pallet, largely for some visual contrast from other RMs I had, a good number of which were already on the warmer side of colors.
This was also the period of time where I largely had Vegas Man's finalized design pretty much down, as well as the redesign of his weapon.
YouTube Era
For lack of a better term of time frame, I didn't really think too much about my custom RMs for awhile after Full Sail, until I had started making videos on YouTube and hanging out with various friends. One conversation with a group of people I used to hang out with involved the idea for a Mega Man fangame, and so, we set to designing RMs. While I did think of my older designs, I also decided "why not try making some new ones?"
Seventh on the list was Fruit Man. Our overall designs for the RMs for this game were more on the silly side, so I decided to go wild with his design, making him a mascot character for an orchard, and thus fully theming him on various colorful fruits. In keeping with the sillier ideas, I made his weapon a pun, the Pineapple Grenade.
The eighth and final design was Disco Man, or as he was originally dubbed, Groove Man. His original design was a bit less solidly themed on one genre of music, instead he was sort of build like an entertainment system featuring tape decks, a CD slot, speakers, etc. I was playing around with visual designs for the head, and the one I ended up liking most had a sort of disco ball afro design. Thus, he started leaning more toward a Disco design, with the disco ball motif migrating to his shoulders, the mixtape taking over his chest, chill shades, platform boots, and a more refined afro design. What can I say, I'm a sucker for disco aesthetic (bring back Miror B. you cowards).
This was also around the time I finally came up with a solid visual design that I liked for Glass Man, and thus, the family was complete.
The Mystery 9th Robot Master...
Technically speaking, back in the High School era, I did have one more RM I had been working on. In true order, he was the fifth design I was working on. His name was Quartz Man. He was going to be a time based RM, armed (literally) with a wristwatch device that gave him time control abilities. However, it was a case where a) I couldn't come up with a visual design I liked enough, and b) I couldn't really think of a solid way to give him time powers that felt unique enough. I think about the only solid part of his design aside from the watch was I think I wanted him to have glasses, I felt it would give him a sharper, more "intelligent" look. I think I had it in mind that he was sort of a strategist type, using his time powers in clever ways to gain the advantage. (EDIT : One further detail I remembered was his color pallet, I wanted him to have at least some sort of bright teal-ish green in reference to the "glow" function of digital watches.)
And so, that basically wraps up the ol' design process I went through over time for the RMN series. Hope you enjoyed this bit of personal history.

Things That Happened In Evo That More Life Series Fans Should Know About
I've finally committed to watching evo in full and kept this in my drafts for AGES just compiling a list
-it starts with everyone gathered around a central circle in the ground, just like how last life did
-jimmy died by creeper not even ten minutes in. fairly certain he died first.
-just... something about how pumpkins are naturally carved in these versions. naturally carved with that same face that gives me last life war flashbacks
-there is a base made of snow. pompeii by bastille intensifies
-bigb puts a large cookie on his base. y'know, a thing he did a second time in 3rd life
-and said cookie is stolen by an inseparable duo (jimmy and martyn in this case)... time is a flat circle
-they did a few games for halloween and one was a hunger games
-just... whatever is going on with the horrors that taurtis experiences. i couldn't not watch his pov and like. You know his experiences of missing a portal jump and getting stranded in some other dimension he likened to the upside down from stranger things? and later having dreams that take place there? yeah it's fucking SCARY. everything was purple and the lighting was all weird and there was weird noises. there was spooky whispering after he jumped through the portal. that's not even getting into the glitchy white-haired purple-eyes-and-mouth version of taurtis that speaks in tongues and appears to be... haunting him? it's so fucking spooky
-anyways the reason i'm bringing this up is. aside from needing to ramble about minecraftian horrors beyond my comprehension. if it is indeed another dimension as he claims, then it naturally follows that this dimension also exists in the life series.
-the cactus maze (and yes grian goes in it)
-the watchers don't even try to hide that they have favourites and least favourites. yeah this is about the jimmy sapling coal incident.
-in that same episode, the watcher dungeon (and i mean dungeon, that basement had what looked like cells but with broken/incomplete bars. tally mark looking I's on the walls and everything) has a spooky face on the wall of one room that grian says looks like a pumpkin
-just. everything about how defiant and rebellious grian is towards the watchers. huh i wonder if he's gonna keep being like this
-usage of galactic is not entirely fanon. the obelisk of the eyes has galactic letters on it
-we oughta do smth with "one day we will deem it your moment to shine" (said by the watchers to martyn at one point) and martyn's victory
-ik we've all seen this clip but. the scene where jimmy and martyn joke that the watchers are gonna put them in the hunger games. (jimmy pov episode 83 timestamp 1:15 if you wanna see for yourself)
-one of the last things grian did was get tnt pranked by jimmy, and he said to the latter "when will you learn that your actions have consequences". eventually in last life, after killing jimmy, he states once again that jimmy needs to learn that his actions have consequences.
-someone needs to caption their third life fanart with "who won that in the end?" "there are no winners in war, friend"
-jimmy after doing his mission for the listeners and finding out what the other players were up to during this time: the watchers are EVIL bro
-mumbo is brought up a couple times. between this and the "do you think mumbo would be proud" scene in 3L, coupled with mumbo being added to the life games through association via grian, i've decided to interpret this as grian and mumbo having been besties before evo and grian is just going around telling everyone about this redstoner friend of his
-the listeners use white bedrock. you guys should be putting this in your fics
-the parallel with this
Tumblr media
and the listener dialogue at the end of limited life

Chipspeech Twitter Archive Update
Hi I should have done this months ago.. I do not know when (or if) I am going to finish that website lmao. So I am just going to share my notes from Google Docs. Should be easier to read than the original posts and helpful as a starting point if anyone else decides to make a website :3
The documents are all on commenting mode so feel free to make comments to bookmark things for yourself or write your thoughts or whatever. Under the cut I have put some formatting notes.
It's a folder, each year of Twitter posts is its own document (I tried to compile them into one but it lagged too much). There is also a document with all of the original Tumblr posts (from the accounts I could find, no tags yet but I will go back and get them eventually, also no dates but they're all from 2015), and one with the bios from the official website for ease of access.
The formatting is a little (a lot) weird and there are probably pictures that need resizing/transcription but I figured it's better to give people access now. The text is small (to keep the page count as low as possible) so you will have to zoom in.
It goes by day, organized with a bulleted list. The top level bullets are each character that tweeted that day. The second level bullets are original tweets/retweets by that character. The third+ level bullets are comment threads under that tweet, the organization here is inconsistent but imo still readable (if you think something needs an edit for clarity let me know and I'll fix it).
For each character's section of the list, normal text is that character's tweets/comments. Italicized text is anyone who is not that character. If it is labeled with unitalicized text, it is that character/important account (e.g. the official Chipspeech account), otherwise it is a fan. I also included some labels and/or clarifying comments for Vocaloid producers I like, they're not central to the story though
I got rid of the line breaks within the tweets when copying them down because it was easier to format. Sorry about that. Idk how to fix it other than going through everything again but it doesn't take away from the story so I'm leaving it for now.
If something came from a website other than Twitter, I tried to provide the link (unless its content was deleted). I did my best to transcribe the Clyp posts that were not deleted.
If something is a text-only retweet, it is marked with [retweet]. If it includes an image, it's probably a screenshot of the whole thing. I only included retweets that felt story-relevant (so no miscellaneous cat pictures, Apple-related aesthetic images, etc.), but if people really want it I can go back and add the rest.
Deleted tweets are noted with [deleted tweet], with the characters they came from if applicable. Idk how Twitter works but it the person in the thread is replying to the username of a certain character, I assumed it was that character's tweet that had been deleted. If something says [deleted Dandy thread], assume there is a deleted Dandy tweet in between each of the listed tweets (or another character, but it's usually Dandy). That was meant to be a temporary time-saver and I've gone back and fixed the ones I've found, but there's probably more I accidentally skipped.
Anything not in English is translated in a comment. Except the X-Sampa (I will fix that sometime but there's not much of it). Also it was done with the built-in Google Translate feature so it may be a little incorrect. Unclear pictures and whatnot also have clarifying comments. I can add more clarifying comments (or image IDs) if anyone needs them.
I tried not to include any unattributed fanart but there are some that I forgot to copy the handle for (I am also fixing these when I find them).
As for any future updates to this folder as a whole, I kind of want to go back through each account's liked tweets to see if there's anything funny in there but idk when that will be. That would probably be its own document.
Honestly I should have given everyone access back in June.. oops. If you have any questions you can put them in a comment on this post (or reach out to me another way, idk). As I mentioned before, feel free to use all of this as a starting point if you're making your own website.
I'll pin this post so it's findable in the future. Also sorry for disappearing for several months (it will happen again).

15 QUESTIONS FOR 15 FRIENDS
Tagged by @sherlockig, thank u Alexz!!
Under the cut bc I got wordy and rambly as per usual lol.
ARE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
Kind of? In that I more or less named myself after Izzy from our flag lol. Not that I'm going to tell everyone I meet that, but it is a big part of why I stuck with it after trying it out (that, and I've always wanted a name that had the letter zed in it, silly as that may seem.)
One of my middle names (that I had been using as a first name for a few years) is after my grandfather and aunt who also have that name as their middle name.
My deadname was after an actress famous in the 90s (tho tbh my mum apparently didn't choose it for that, she chose it bc she didn't find out my gender until I was Out and then was like 'aw fuck I don't have a name for this situation' and went with the first one she saw in a book of names a nurse gave her. It was only after that she remembered the actress when I was like. 4. that she changed and started telling ppl it was after that instead.)
And technically Holden is after the book character, but mum never actually read that book (and after I described it to her, said she has no interest in doing so lmao), she just liked how the name sounded and that was the one solitary name she for sure had on hand when I was born apparently. Could have saved us all time had she just used that one for me anyway!
2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
Couple of nights ago. I'm doing better abt missing my cat Nisha, but my phone will toss up compilations of pics of her to mark the year/month/etc and sometimes those still get me. It popped up just before I went to bed that night and I was already so tired that I just. broke down. Bc I know she's v loved and looked after w/my mum, but I do miss her goofy lil self a lot. She was my first cat that was given to me and meant to be mine alone, and there's something abt that first pet bond I guess.
3. DO YOU HAVE KIDS?
Nope, and it's not a likely thing for me. I've said before that that happening would be in a very specific situation, wherein I'm with someone who wants to dedicate the rest of our lives to raising a child, or god forbid more than one, tho I think I'd max out at two if I managed one at all tbh (and that's not even getting into the very complex for me thing of would I want to actually be pregnant ever (probably not, absolutely terrified of dying in childbirth and don't see myself getting over that easily), we have the funds to make that happen (and give the kid a good life, not just a decent one or 'could have been worse' like my own), and we feel stable mentally, emotionally, and physically (as much as one can outside of Life Happening of course) bc having a kid means putting allll of that first for them, ahead of yourself. Or at least I think it should mean that lol.
But that situation is incredibly unlikely considering my bigger goal in life is to wind up being a third for multiple couples while also fucking any of my friends who are down for it in a big poly ENM sort of thing for lack of better/more detailed definition (I know it sounds unrealistic and maybe it is to a degree, almost definitely is lol.)
I can admit I just. don't want to uproot the life I've been trying so hard to build for myself in so many ways, to have kids. I'll happily help babysit the kids of any friends tho and be the fun uncle that buys them junk food and lets them stay up late to watch movies. I think that's about the level of parenting of any kind that I can handle for now (also tbh I burned out on parenting bc my family admits they parentified the fuck outta me with my three younger cousins. It by far could have been worse, but I spent my teens spending most of my days after school helping look after them from the newborn years and on. Unless my above uber specific scenario happens, then I've probably had my fill of parenting for my lifetime.)
4. WHAT SPORTS DO YOU PLAY/HAVE YOU PLAYED?
I played volleyball for a few years in elementary school, and we were made to participate in a multi-school track and field thing for most of middle school every year, but I was never amazing at them. Housemate and I have figured out I likely have undiagnosed asthma tho (turns out running or going out in too cold or hot weather shouldn't instantly make you gasp, struggle to breathe, and make you taste iron in your mouth, who the fuck knew? Not me, genuinely) so I think that might have a lot to do with it.
I also enjoy tennis and badminton and would love to try rugby, but I've never played any of those beyond a hobby with family/friends.
5. DO YOU USE SARCASM?
I do! Probably too much and not always in the best situations, but I've been working for years to hone when and where it should be used so I think/hope I'm a lot better with it than I was when I was younger. Tho even then, I did get adults who found it funny when I was sarcastic bc of how adult I seemed to a lot of them (their words, not mine lmao.)
6. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?
I genuinely don't know. Usually I'm too busy running my script for meeting new ppl in my head and trying to maintain Common and Expected Etiquette to really notice much right away. I have found that after a bit of time/after the initial meeting has passed, I tend to notice colours ppl wear more often than others if I see them often enough, or hair colour. But I don't know if it counts towards this question at that point lol.
7. WHAT'S YOUR EYE COLOUR?
Kinda blueish grey? Some ppl say it's too grey to be blue, others that it's too blue to be grey. I had a lady at the ND DOT freak out abt not being sure if I should have blue or grey on my ID a few years back, and she finally just told me to put blue so 'she could stop feeling so confused.' Was a weird day and the first time I realised apparently they really do have a blend of both colours, enough for it to be upsetting lmao.
8. SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS?
I can't choose between the two; I like both! I also like mixing them together when I write (a scary story with a happy ending, an ending that seems happy but is actually terrifying, so on and so forth.)
9. ANY TALENTS?
Writing? Maybe, I always list it bc it's something I know how to do and to (usually) do decently well. I can sort of draw? But not well enough that I think 'talented' would be accurate to describe how I draw lol. I'm not sure of anything else off the top of my head tbh.
10. WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
In California, USA! We were there bc dad was in basic training for the Marines and then just got stuck at Camp Pendleton for years lmao (or that's how he always talks abt it anyway lmao.) Only was actually there until either: a. I was 3 months old, b. I was 6 months old or c. I was actually basically still a fresh newborn. Depends on whether you're talking to my dad, mum, or grandparents as to which answer you get, and at this point I'm genuinely uncertain as to exactly when mum left and took me to North Dakota but 6 months seems the most potentially accurate lmaooo.
11. WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
Writing, drawing, reading (not enough but I'm trying to remedy that), napping, watching movies/fave shows, and giffing.
12. DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS?
Kind of? My cat Nisha had to stay in North Dakota after I moved, so my mum and her bf are looking after her now (and got her a little sister, a kitten who is getting so big already!, named Bella.) I help Housemate look after aer two cats as well, and I'd like to think the boys consider me like their fun uncle lol (aka I bend over backwards for them and let them steal my spot on the couch all the time, and will break out the treats if needed to corral them now and then. In my defense: they are the cutest lil baby boy cats and they deserve the world, even when they're being little gremlins lmao.)
13. HOW TALL ARE YOU?
Approximately somewhere between 5'3 and 5'4ish? I can't recall the last time I was actually measured, and most of the ppl I've been around were somewhere between those heights and I'm usually either slightly shorter or slightly taller than some of them, so??? I put 5'3 on my ID tho lol
14. FAVOURITE SUBJECT IN SCHOOL?
English bc it was easy and I liked almost everything we did in that class. All my general and more specific history courses were a close second, and my foreign language classes a close third.
15. DREAM JOB?
Ideally, I'd love to not have to work. But who wouldn't, so that said, probably something in a library or museum. I'd love to be a library page again, or help work the front desk/docent duties of a museum. Working at someplace like Mystic Seaport would be amazing too; I'd be happy to learn how to help repair/repaint ships that come in or just help do tours or look after artifacts and stuff (tbh they could hire me just to type up any random data entry work they need done for any/all depts and I'd say yes to the job offer lol.) Unfortunately there's fairly significant roadblocks to me achieving any of these jobs rn, but I like to keep them in mind, just in case.
Also, if I can have one dream job that would be even more unlikely and is slightly TMI probably but: paid third for a rich couple. I show up, look nice, [redacted], make sure they're both good for the night, then go back home to Housemate (if it wouldn't be a night they'd want me to stay over, which I wouldn't be against but also. That would require some overtime pay lol.) The chances of this one are...so unlikely it's stupid funny, but a man's allowed to have dreams right lmao?
Tagging (if u guys wanna, no obligation if u don't wanna/have already been tagged/etc!!): @starmoonchildfromthebeamsabove, @freebooter4ever, @willowenigma, @turtleduck-tales, @mash1972, @mysteriouslybluepirate, @turtles-on-turts, @cononeillbreastingboobily, @treesofgreen, @dianetastesmetal, @arsenicflame, @gydima, @king-bussy, @p0ochy, @crvwly, and anyone else following me who wants to!

Wire Witch Hex - Wearing Many Hats (Font Design)
Lately most of the traffic I'm getting on this blog has been people stumbling onto my multipart series on how a computer works. Glad people are enjoying that as much as they seem to be. My reason for teaching myself all of that (besides just the joy of learning) is I'm very slowly working on designing a new video game console that anyone sufficiently motivated can build for themselves as a neat little DIY project. There are so many moving parts to this project that for now I'm focusing mainly on just the controller and its unique features. To avoid having to make a whole working console, with software, to test it, and make sure I have something to show for all this if the rest doesn't pan out, I'm designing the controller to also be more or less compatible with the NES and SNES (which secretly use the same input standard, just differently shaped plugs at the end of the cord).
This means all I'll need to test and demo my controller is an SNES ROM that knows what to do with my scroll-wheel outputs, a setup where an emulator accurately handles those signals, and later a cart I can slap a couple EEPROMs into and test on real hardware. Oh and I also need to teach myself enough about SNES development to actually create every demo I want to run, do all the art, code it up, and compile it. This is a big job, and I'm not getting paid, so maybe consider throwing me a little money before we dig into this?
Since... really the last time I reported in on this, I've been studying away trying to learn all this, and hey, have a compiled ROM image that'll display a blank screen in any color I want, and a third party program that IN THEORY with a bit of massaging will convert a 256x256 image into an SNES character ROM image. AKA the file with all the graphics. My ultimate goal for this demo cart is to cycle through several very simple games, showcasing how my controller works with each. So I need to cram every image any of these are going to need into my one big image file, which I'm slowly picking away at, but the one thing I knew from the start that I'd definitely need is to throw some text on screen explaining the controls for each demo. And since it's not like there's a built in font in in the system, I had to make my own.
Tumblr media
This is not my first font-making rodeo. For this one, my thinking was, I'm going to be in a fixed 16x16 resolution per character (because I forgot the specifics of how the SNES actually tiles graphics), some built in spacing so I can slap them all right up against each other or some border and still be readable, and I wanted a nice little shadow built into every character in case they end up on a low contrast background. Let's zoom in on what I have here so far, in case you don't feel like downloading the file and blowing it up to something more readable.
Tumblr media
The first thing I want to note is that after finishing the first 4 rows of characters here, I double checked, and while the SNES CAN break backgrounds into 16x16 tiles, the absolute minimum is 8x8. If I were really trying to be space efficient, I should have designed around that. Several of these characters would easily fit into a 16x8 space, that level of compression would also let me have just the period and comma and be able to build a colon, semicolon, or apostrophe from those, and most importantly, I rendered this with all of the lowercase letters exactly 1 pixel too tall to fit into a 16x8 space and let me double up there. Since I'm rather happy with this font so far and I'd eventually like to make some version of it available for, if nothing else, other people writing software for my eventual console here, I will likely, at some point, make a more space-optimized variation. I'd also like to cover a wider range of characters. At the very least, have some accent marks, wouldn't be too hard to add support for Cyrillic. Pretty sure I can get Japanese and Korean text in keeping with this look. Maybe some other languages. Anyway though, let's talk about what I've got.
My general design rule here was, where possible, make lines 2 pixels thick, and have each white pixel cast a black pixel shadow immediately below, to the right, and the diagonal between them. This gives a pretty convincing relief effect in my opinion, and keeping the shadows this thick keeps a nice firm edge there so it's even generally readable on a pure white background. Within each 16x16 tile, I was extremely strict about keeping a 1 pixel margin clear at the top and bottom of each image, and 2 or 3 on the sides (often 3 on the left, 2 on the right. With capital letters, I went with a generally rigid and blocky style, trying to stretch things to my arbitrary margins. Lowercase letters I restricted to just 8 pixels tall, and those featuring tails are given special permission to drop down an extra pixel, leaving the shadow right on the edge of their true bounding box.
While it wasn't an intentional move at first, several lowercase letters ended up with a decidedly rounded, squashed look, particularly g and q. I found that to be both kind of cute, giving the whole font a real unique character, and eventually started to actively lean into it (which may not be super obvious, I started with W as it's kinda the letter than needs the most breathing room and worked outward from there), and did my best to distort all the rounder shapes and in particular the highly mirrorable b d p q set, as I seem to recall once reading the more you avoid identical shapes with those, the more legible the font becomes for people with dyslexia. Similarly, I made a point of distinguishing the shapes of the Ms and Ws, and added a little whimsy to the numerals. Overall I'm super happy with all the lowercase letters (except for e and s being too thin, but that was an inevitable compromise), and if I ever have the time to kill it's very likely I'll revisit this someday and apply this squishy rounded aesthetic to the capitals too.
Your eyes were probably drawn really quickly to the parentheses here, where for at least the moment I'm breaking my rules about blank space and shifting them inward quite a bit rather than centering them. That's going to look really bad if I use them in a sentence (like this), but the main reason I'm including them right now is so I can list button prompts with both the icons representing what's actually going to be on my controller, and the SNES buttons sharing the same signals. So something like: "GO (A) Jump" and I think the half-spacing and closeness to what they enclose will look pretty nice in this one specific case.
As a final note, the particular hardware I'm working with absolutely supports the ability to mirror any image horizontally or vertically, as well as change the palette. If I truly wanted to cram letters in as efficiently as possible at this font size, I could, for instance, have an 8x8 right-angle segment, build a whole H just from mirroring that, also use it for the legs of the A, P, F, the left side of the D, etc. This however is incompatible with the shadows I'm using for extra readability. And of course for other projects I HAVE made a perfectly legible 8x8 font before.
I'm pointing this out because hey, if you do the math, JUST these characters I've set aside for having arbitrary on-screen text, as is, are consuming 5/16ths of my total graphical memory, and I'm probably never even going to display most of these anywhere. Again, not a huge problem for the simple demo pack I'm making, and that 256x256 drawing space isn't a hard limit. Spending an extra processor cycle to change an index value and access a whole other page of image data is a pretty common practice on the hardware, but especially with older computers and racing to get things ready to draw before a screen refreshes, it's good to at least be mindful of the tradeoffs with that sort of thing.
And again, my sole source of income at the moment is patreon donations, so if you're excited about seeing updates to this weird project of mine or you're learning useful things from any of it, maybe consider throwing me a little support?

The elevator stopped and the doors opened. In front of us was an archive similar to the one above us. Only there was almost no one there. Only a few officers and other high-ranking members of the military were walking around, looking through the information.
Before exiting the elevator and entering the archive, Luke turned to me >> How much do you care about our people, Apath? <<
I looked at him, slightly horrified >> It means everything to me. What kind of question is that? <<
He nodded and ran ahead. I followed him through the many rows to the very back, where the older information was located. There was a section there that was completely dedicated to Aurora. That's exactly where Luke had taken me. He pulled out a flash drive and then walked with me to the tables in the middle of the room. There he plugged the stick into one of the ports and called up the files. He gestured for me to take a seat.
>> Do you wanna tell me what to expect first? << I asked him quietly, but someone had heard me anyway. An older Griever, with no markings and wearing only a white robe, was walking around and peering over at us with one eye. He had nothing with him and wanted to leave the archives, but he took another little turn to make sure he hadn't misheard.
>> Just see for yourself. << Luke said to me.
I opened the file and a kind of entry appeared in holographic form, followed by pictures, articles and audio files. The pictures had been labeled with Aurora and various dates. The first was from the year 14,854 and was a compilation of various places on the planet.
An ice glacier, a tropical rainforest, an ocean, a lake and a big city. The city looked incredibly beautiful, nothing like Manhattan. White, gleaming skyscrapers and neatly laid out streets everywhere. The natural landscapes were quite beautiful and untouched. You could even see the animals that were caught in the pictures.
I then looked at a compilation of images from the year 14,999. Nature looked a lot worse for wear. Most of the glacier had melted, half of the rainforest had been cut down and the ocean and lake were littered with garbage. But the city still looked pretty good. The third image was from 15,050. The city was still intact, but had grown in size. The glacier had disappeared and all that was left of the rainforest was a savannah. The water was barely visible in the other two images.
And then there was the last image from 15.079. Where the savannah had been, there was a huge, endless fire. The mass of garbage in the water was pushing the water over the shores and had flooded the coastal cities. The metropolis had lost all shine. It had mutated into a war zone.
My hands wanted to shake, but I felt like I was being watched from all sides. I tried to suppress the trembling and wiped an audio track for entry. My fingers didn't dare to play it, even when no one was within earshot and the man in the robe was no longer visible. I started to read the entry, but Luke played the audio file >> Let's not waste time. << he said with a smile on his face.
From the audio track, a gruff, masculine voice began to speak >> This is the leader of the Conservative Faction, also known as the Griever Faction. My name is Elder Miran and I report from the 25th day of the seventh month 15,079. Our opposing faction, the Las Plazidas, cannot see that the planet Aurora is long past saving. <<
I looked up at Luke and he nodded back at the files >> This may sound contradictory, but I partly agree with them. There was a chance to save the planet, or rather, to maintain it. Massive pollution has conjured up countless, horrific disasters that mercilessly pulled more than half the population out of existence. However, I do not join them in dying on this dying stone. <<
I read the written entry at the same time as the audio track, even if it wasn't necessary. This allowed me to keep a focused gaze, as I did not yet know how to react to all this.
>> I've put together a team to get as many members of the Griever faction onto a ship as possible. It was once a travel ship that was equipped with weapons shortly after the start of the civil war. We will use it to find a new planet to call home. If there are any signs that the population is beginning to turn against us, we will immediately alter their memories with our telepaths. <<
>> No matter what happens, no matter what species is already populating the new planet, we will wipe them out and claim the planet for ourselves. The Las Plazidas have already lost all hope and refuse to go our way. This is too bad for them, because we will leave them here and maintain our species. Nothing will stand in our way of preserving the Grievers. Not even our own people. <<
The audio track ended and closed by itself. It left me and Luke in silence before he pulled out the stick and the holographic representation of the files disappeared.
I slowly got up from the chair and just as slowly turned to Luke, who was looking at me with a waiting look. >> Why are you showing me this? << I asked him quietly.
But he looked at me calmly, as if he wanted to explain something obvious to me >> I can't keep something like that from you. Besides, I wanted to beat your trip to the new planet. What do you say to that? <<
His joy was reflected in his face and could have dazzled me if it could radiate light. But I felt my way cautiously at first >> In what sense? <<
He sighed slightly and rolled his eyes >> Hadn't you been smarter before you were recruited? I mean, it's all pretty rad, don't you think? << he said with a broad smile.
I suddenly got a headache. It came out of nowhere and made its way deeper into my head. As if a pressure was spreading inwards. It must have been a telepath. Grievers with mental abilities, as well as telepathy and empathy, could sense when another Griever with mental abilities was trying to enter their head. Only I couldn't see a Griever. He must have been hiding behind one of the rows and as long as he wanted to get into my head, I didn't have enough power to track him down with my empathy.
Unsuccessfully, I tried to suppress it, grabbing my head and trying to block the telepath, but Luke pressed on with a question >> Apath, are you alright? << he asked, snapping my attention to him.
I looked at him lost until I found my way back to him >> Uh.... Sorry. I still have a little bit of a headache from the two lizards. <<
>> Oh I see. But you have to admit, it's kind of cool with the whole thing. I mean, I can understand why we were deprived of it. I'm sure there are a lot of hippies who would stand up for a race like humans. I don't want to imagine what kind of horrible civil war it could all cause. <<
I faked a smile and played along. Having an argument with Luke was the last thing I wanted. Even if my memory had been reset, Luke would have seen me in a different light and our friendship still wouldn't have been saved.
Luke took a step closer to me and spoke to me in a more serious tone >> Listen, I showed you this so we're on the same page. I was assigned the first attack a few days ago. That means I'm in charge of the first squad to arrive on the planet. <<
My eyes widened >> No way, right? <<
The corner of his mouth twitched upwards >> Yes. And I wanted you to be my right-hand man in this whole operation. That's why I joined the military in the first place. So we could be together again. <<
I laughed slightly hysterically >> How can an injured man help you? <<
>> If I'm being honest with you... << he began and continued in a whisper >> ... I have no idea how I got this far up. I don't even know how I'm supposed to live on my own. <<
He gently grabbed me by the shoulders >> Without someone with a functioning brain, the only way I'm going to get it done is for the humans to tear our forces apart. Please, I need your help. <<
The secret hall had been empty, but with the telepath breathing down my neck and Luke waiting, it felt like half the ship was watching me. They wanted to know my answer, and I didn't even know what it was.
I didn't want to betray my people, but I didn't want to wipe out an innocent species either. Especially not when there were good people like Jenny among them. That was not fair. Just like the lie that was fed to all our people. Our entire history that I grew up with was just a cheap lie told by the military to justify their actions. I wanted to explain it all to Luke, but I was afraid of the telepath. Probably a snitch who was making sure these secrets stayed secret. And if he had found out that I had two abilities and had kept this from everyone all my life, it might even have cost me my life.

//I WANT THE LORE GIMME THE LORE I CRAVE IT
//Understandable! Feel free to DM me if you're curious and want to know right away, since I don't want to spoil it for everyone in case someone does want to figure it out themself, and I do think that I've given quite a few hints that could give it away when put together.
//I'm going to compile a list of what I consider a hint that's been on the blog under the cut, just for reference for if anyone does want to figure it out themselves. It'll probably be addressed on-blog eventually, but I don't want to spoil it until it is.
//Going to drop the slashes after this but do know this is all ooc.
-Persephone is a nickname given to her by friends "a long time ago", and rather than being pronounced normally, the "phone" part is pronounced like "phone". (She will answer to it pronounced the normal way, but it takes her a second to register that she's being addressed.)
-She does not react well to fire, apparently badly enough that accommodations on the Gym Challenge were offered to her after she started to panic during a battle where there seems to have been a lot of it, and forced herself to keep going regardless. She seems to consider it particularly deadly.
-She doesn't keep her pokemon in pokeballs most of the time, because she doesn't want them to feel trapped. (Given that she has posted about having a nightmare where she can't move, she may be projecting.)
-She does not particularly trust or like gods, conceptually, and has mentioned wanting to kill gods at least once.
-her phone that she uses in day-to-day life is a rotary phone with an oversized receiver, the rotary unit of which clips to her waist. This does not have a camera or internet access, which is why she tends to not post on rotomblr when she's out and a lot of her pictures she posts are scans of instant photos.
-She has (phone?) buttons on her face.
-She used to like her old job, which was as an athlete playing a splort ("splort" described by her as "kind of like a sport but. Different."). She grew to Not Like It after people started dying (after "Fans voted to open a Forbidden Book at the end of [her] first season of play"), gods started showing up to mess with people, a necromancy happened (where the affected player's plays could mark people for death), etc, but she (and all of the other players) couldn't quit.
-She physically cannot sleep during the onseason of her old job, and thought it was the same way in Galar until shortly before she got her third Gym Badge. (She technically doesn't have to sleep, either, and is fairly certain she can't get sleep deprived.)
-Apparently people can be Released from her old job so they no longer have to play.
-A week is 9 days long in her home world.
-Weather from her home world includes: birds, some sort of weather that "certain league officials" kill people during that isn't birds
-Alternate worlds existing is normal to her.
-She has a brother (who is also in Galar, but I will note that as a canon divergence from where I've pulled her from, instead of the thing that happens to him in canon, he got Faller'd.)
-A team that she wasn't on has different classifications of rival because they consider everyone their rival. These classifications are: major rival, rivalliance, and antirival.
(I will note as a last thing due to how things work re: lore in her source media that this is my interpretation of her character, a lot of people tend to interpret her as being meaner/caring about her brother less than I interpret her as. I tend to interpret her as "she's tired and burnt out but she cares about the people close to her so, so much".)
Edit: second note, apparently the nonsense word that’s “sport with an l added to it” yields unrelated nsfw results when googled. Be careful when actually searching for stuff.

▌real name: Patrick Finch ▌/real/ name: Fenrisúlfr Lokison (and a bunch of others) ▌single or taken: Single here on Tumblr, hopefully gonna get a boo-boo in his canon, we’ll see how it goes <w< ▌abilities or powers: Quick reflexes because he’s always on edge and ready to pounce, even if it tends to not show; heightened senses; he’s really good at improvising and getting himself out of life-or-death situations (quick-witted like his original father, basically), then there’s, of course, how he learnt to use Gleipnir to his advantage, but that’s too long to get into here :3 ▌eye colour: Pale blue, almost icy (it’s... it’s a meta thing <w<) ▌hair colour: Blonde, darkened throughout the years ▌family members: Okay, alright, this is where the page refreshed twice for me now, so let’s buckle up folks, and get into this: human mother (Susannah), human father (Robert), that dickwad of his uncle (Reginald, Robert’s twin brother); Fenris has a parent that is Loki, a frost giant mother (Angrboða), and several siblings: a brother (Jörmungandr), a sister (Hel), three half brothers (Narfi and Váli, and Sleipnir, who are also half-brothers to one another). ▌pets: None! ▌something they don’t like: This meme isn’t long enough to list everything! Lmao... Physical contact (it’s more okay if he knows you, but usually, his personal space bubble is quite big so avoid stepping into it if you want something from him) ▌hobbies/activities: Reading (quite a lot of), researching, travelling, going on walks, making deals, the occasional hustle but only under very specific circumstances, being a generally avoidant person ▌ever hurt anyone before: Yeppers ▌ever killed anyone before: Not as Patrick, no. Not yet, at least. Every other life so far, safe for Heng, Serafima, Valentina, and Matthias, has had at least one kill ▌animal that represents them: The wolf, due to obvious reasons, and then some ▌worst habits: He expects the worst out of everyone at all times; he has a tendency to leave people hanging unless they manage to guilt-trip him (which isn’t too difficult to achieve once you know him a little or hold some sort of emotional leverage over him); compulsive liar; he’s never honest, not with what he says, not with the faces he makes, even his body language usually involves him hiding his hands in one way or another ▌role models: His best friend Allen ▌sexual orientation: Asexual ▌thoughts on marriage/kids: Not for him, he isn’t suitable to either (according to his viewpoint, at least); but he does adore children, he’d be a good parent, he just finds the idea of taking care of other children much easier to handle than having any of his own (not to mention he’d rather not have any biological ones, if possible; not that it’d be very likely, he tends to lean towards more traditionally masculine traits, romantically, and men in general, as abhorrent as he sometimes finds some of them) ▌fears: Large or deep bodies of water; abandonment, which is why he avoids giving others the power to make him miss them; emotional honesty (honestly); physical contact which ties back to his last and one of his biggest fears: inability to move (being chained up, or even just his wrists bound, and even being cornered by another person works for this) ▌style preferences: Something of a literature professor or a young businessman, usually foregoes the suit and tie though so not that type of business: casual business, basically, unless he’s feeling particularly at ease somewhere (or so numb that he doesn’t care); smart, sharp, but still casual ▌someone they love:  He loves a lot, unsurprising considering how vehemently he refuses to, but to name one person for this life, it’d be Allen, his best friend (highschool crush lmao) ▌approach to friendships: Just... don’t initiate unwarranted physical contact, let him know that you have no intention to step into his personal space, he does enjoy wit so a deep conversation with occasional banter could do it, appear honest but not oversharing honest ▌thoughts on pie: None? He enjoys pastries, but, not often, he doesn’t have a particular opinion on pie ▌favourite drink: A fine wine, probably, he’s your local depressed wine mum (also, gender roles whomst?); tea with ginger in it ▌favourite place to spend time at: Anywhere out in the open, to be honest! Surrounded by nature, as well. He absolutely loves spending time in the woods, reminds him of Jotunheimr ▌swim in the lake or in the ocean: In neither, he’s terrified of deep and large bodies of water (thalassophobia, baby, generated from drowning not once, but twice) ▌their type: Hm, he’s had past love interests, Jack in the 20s, Allen right now, a maiden back in the 1800s in Russia, and while very different (Jack was a fool with a big grin and a penchant to roll his eyes; Allen is a bright, open-minded fella who tends to put others above himself, to a certain degree, at least; the maiden was a sweet, soft-spoken thing with a secret, violent wish for vengeance) they had at least two key things in common that seem to have developed into Patrick’s type: they could see through his bullshit and would, without fail, call him out for it; they were and are the most stubborn survivors Patrick has ever met. All in all, it appears that he has a tendency to fall for kind hearts who refuse to die. ▌camping or indoors: Camping :3

Hello! I'm the anon from the 4 part ask that you answered earlier! I saw your post about the different "eras" of DNF and I would like to share some of my opinions since I've been in the fandom since March of last year, so maybe I can write my own analysis and briefly explain what happened during these times (and hopefully someone will find enjoyment in reading this)!
So the first era was probably the most "baity" period where every interaction between Dream and George with slight romantic undertones was pure bait. From Dream placing romantic music in the background, to the small texts on screen that would read "arguing like a married couple" and even proclaiming his love to George any second he could, it was obvious that it was a means to garner a reaction and moments that could be used in compilations, edits, videos, etc. Dream addressed George just the same as he currently does Sapnap or Bad: Dude, Bro, etc, and when they weren't attempting to bait, for example on streams, things were chill, no tension, just two bros hanging out in minecraft.
LOVE OR HOST ERA. The catalyst in DNF's relationship, in my humble opinion. Now, where do I begin? So, LOH was definitely a time that I believe Dream became aware of his feelings towards George (platonic or romantic, I can't be sure) and his fear of losing him. Before/During George's LOH, we got Dream saying some interesting things, the most notable one "George is the only man I can see myself dating". Now, I'm pretty sure this was meant as bait, but how he reacted prior to LOH, was very telling. Dream would avoid George like the plague in every situation that didn't require them to interact. Twitter? Only one mention (and that was literally him tagging George in Andrea's post in spite). Stream? That I can remember he didn't join much during this time, nor did he stream that often. During MCC, the DT was separated in different teams, Sapnap & George together and Dream alone. Now Sapnap DID pop off. He was doing amazing. And Dream complimented him and his team quite a lot. But what about George? I believe he mentioned him ONCE. This was the first time we see Dream jealous in regards to George, and the lack of content and interactions between these two made many believe DNF was dead and abandon the ship all together.
QUACKITY AND KARL. Now there is a lot that happened in between LOH Arc and the friendship between the DT with Karl and Quackity. Dream and George seemed to have solved whatever occured between them, and things were tranquil. We got a few baity moments here and there, but we also started to get the start of the infamous "name-truthing", the soft voices and other subtle moments. Now, during this time George, Dream and Sapnap started developing their friendship with Quackity and Karl, George in particular started getting closer with them and spending LOTS of time with them, so much so that we got more G/K/Q content than we did DT content. And we get Jealous Dream 2.0., only difference from the other occurence of jealously? He addressed it publicly, admitted that he was frustrated and physically affected by the lack of attention from the british man. He confronted George while he was streaming, with an audience of 50k+ viewers. He was desperate.
Things were pretty calm after that, the more intimate and subtle moments between the two became more and more apparent and began to outweight the baity moments. Quackity/George/Karl continued to blossom their friendship, and DNF was slowly becoming a topic to tease George and Dream (I can only compare their teasing to that of middle schoolers when their friends had a crush). We can compare this teasing to that of Skephalo, the difference, while one is leaning on the more explicit side and used to make others laugh or get an over the top reaction, the other was used as an inside joke of sorts, only brought up to embarass or shut up Dream/George when they got over-confident (most times it would effectively leave them quiet, important to note, is that they never denied the claims nor attempted to).
TRAINS PODCAST. Oh boy, was this a night to remember. A historical mark for DNF. The point in history that George decided to become BOLD and actively flirt with Dream whenever he wanted to, rendering or poor Leo speechless most of the time. That podcast changed these men, it unlocked something within them and things have never been the same since. This is where we see the dynamic take a major switch, and baity moments had become almost non-existent, and instead we got probably some of the most tension filled convos between these himbos. Name-truthing had become something natural between them, the unavoidable excitement whenever they hear one another in call, suddenly ever call became a matter of how long until they were third-wheeling everyone. It's also during this time that we clearly see a difference in between Dream & Sapnap's relationship and Dream & George's relationship (not that one outweighed the other, but the nature of these relationships were very much opposing)
And finally we are in our current stance. Where the sweet, obnoxious moments continue to pile; More and more of their friends are calling them out (you can literally see Quackity and Karl becoming more direct and, quite honestly, aggressive with their call-outs. I bet they are just as tired as we are); The whole hoodie fiasco and the secretive pictures; Syncing sleep schedules once again; Tension continue to grow and you can see them testing the waters, in a game of tug of war until one of them caves in and starts the conversation.
As I said before, they have nothing to gain from the bait they are currently doing. They excuse it as being a joke, and hide behind this lie, as a means to test the development and seriousness of whatever they have going on. The whole Valentine's thing proves that they (unfortunately) do not understand when the other is being sincere or baity...
Also here is some food for thought. George has been very clingy with Dream ever since he and Sapnap moved in together. Not being able to see each other is certainly another factor that is affecting them.
I'm anxious to figure out what in the hell is happening next between our oblivious idiots with communication issues. It sometimes seems surreal the things that occur between them, and straight out of a fanfic.
Anyway, sorry for the long rant and if this wasn't very interesting to read! Just wanted to get some thoughts out of my head!! Stay safe and hope you have a good day/afternoon/night! ❤
Hi love! Glad to have you back <3
Firstly, don’t ever be sorry for ranting in my inbox, especially ab dnf. I love to see it!
Thank you for this, especially the early parts when I wasn’t in the fandom yet. Ahh this is super helpful.
I agree that George has gotten more clingy since Sapnap and Dream moved in together which is so funny because Dream and George have a more similar sleep schedule than Sapnap and Dream do LMAO
But yes all of this ugh I’m deeming you my genius anon

Lewisohn vs. Wenner Pt. 2 of 2
Part 1 // More Tune In analysis
You probably know the drill by now: I'm looking at the quotes from Tune In against the source Mark Lewisohn gives for them, and seeing if they're faithfully reproduced. This post deals with the multi-source Frankenquotes that are partly attributed to Jann Wenner's interviews. Five of the quotes here are from the infamous Lennon Remembers interview, with a sixth from a separate interview for Rolling Stone. Lewisohn combines John's words from these interviews with a myriad of other sources: a televised interview of John by Jean-François Vallée (1975), Hunter Davies’ The Beatles (1968), an interview/cohosting spot on The Mike Douglas Show (1972), and an interview with Lisa Robinson for Hit Parader (1975).
Before I get into it, I wanted to take a moment to discuss how I ‘grade’ Lewisohn’s quotes based on the type of source he cites. If Lewisohn is using a recorded interview, there’s some wiggle room in things like punctuation and word stress. When transcribing the same interview, two people might listen to the same phrase and come away with slightly different versions, e.g. “My favorite color was blue, but that changed after the accident in the paint factory,” vs. “My favorite color was blue. But that changed after the accident in the paint factory.” Both of those could be correct interpretations of the same recorded audio, so I can’t fault Lewisohn for changes along those lines when he’s working from an audio source.
There isn’t the same wiggle room when working from text. If I pull a quote from a book, and the book reads, “Now, I love green. It’s so lush,” I can’t change that to, “Now I love green; it’s so lush.” I’m not actually quoting the person who said those words originally—I’m quoting the transcribed and published version of what that person said.
I've taken this into account with these Frankenquotes. If there are punctuation differences between Tune In and the printed version of Lennon Remembers pictured here, I haven’t made note of them. Those same differences in a quote pulled from Davies’ The Beatles will be noted, since Lewisohn is quoting the printed source and not an original audio tape. This becomes a bit confusing when a single “quote” is compiled from different sources, and the bits from one source are graded on a different rubric than the other, but such is the thrill of fact-checking Mark Lewisohn!
Citations at the end. Time stamps refer to this upload of the Lennon Remembers interview.
Tune In 4-12 vs. Wenner p.76 (2:14:41), 18 (36:24)  + Vallée Interview
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I haven't been able to track down the source for the middle section of this Frankenquote (it’s from an interview by Jean-François Vallée for the French TV Series Un jour futur, in the episode “Il était une fois: John Lennon.”), nor did I find the first sentence of the third part of the quote. It isn’t in the printed version of Lennon Remembers, and it doesn’t appear before the final sentence in the audio, though perhaps it’s elsewhere on the tape.
This has several classic Lewisohn offenses: stitching together multiple sources, combining distinct sections of a single source into one quote, and phrases omitted without ellipses. I've noted these on the images above.
What I'd like to bang on about is Lewisohn's choice not to clarify who John is referencing at the start of the quote--the "somebody" discussing black music and white bodies. In the original interview, John credits it to either "Michael X or Eldridge Cleaver" (Lennon Remembers gives this as Malcolm X, but it's clearly Michael X on the tape--see end of post for some background on Michael X and Lennon). It's common practice by many authors to clarify ambiguous references like this; Mark Lewisohn even does it in Tune In. He mostly does this in the endnotes (e.g. P-4, 2-22), but he uses a footnote to clarify a song lyric he himself uses in the prose of Chapter 4 (see footnote 4-c). Lewisohn not only fails to clarify who John is referencing here, he does not quote John's attempted attribution.
But maybe this falls under Lewisohn's inconsistent policy of not referencing the future. Still, even without naming the black activist who John references here, this quote is not a reflection of John's mindset in his adolescence: he wasn't sitting at a Quarry Bank chum's house in 1956, thinking "gee, thank goodness this black music has reconnected me with my middle-class white body!" The use of the above quote is foresight in and of itself, so why not credit the person who originated that line of thinking? Are Lewisohn's footnotes only for pronunciation guides and details of how demonstrably effeminate certain Beatles' relations were? For someone proclaiming their book a "social history", it's a bit of an oversight.
It's Eldridge Cleaver, by the way, in his prison memoir Soul on Ice (1968). It's in the chapter titled "Convalescence," in a discussion about the Beatles and white rock 'n' roll. Be forewarned if you seek it out, that section is also heavily homophobic.
Tune In 6-7 vs. Wenner p.133 (3:53:54) + Davies p.33
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hunter Davies did not record his interviews with the Beatles, as described in the introduction to the 2009 edition (p.lxiii): “I also wish now that I’d used a tape recorder. I never have done, which is silly.” Since we know Lewisohn was working with Davies’ written word, he was not at liberty to make changes like the one we see here: Davies starts a new sentence at the word “But”, which Lewisohn combines with the preceding sentence. There are changes like this throughout the quotes pulled from Davies’ work, but that’s a matter for a later post.
The other change Lewisohn makes here is more consequential. When discussing how Paul came to join the Quarrymen, John says, “That decision was to let Paul in.” Lewisohn gives the quote as “[my] decision was to let Paul in.”
Perhaps you’re thinking, “He’s used brackets! It’s fine!”, but I disagree. Brackets can be used when changing the tense of a quote, or when changing a word to clarify the meaning of a quote, so long as doing so doesn’t change the meaning. Clarification isn’t necessary here: the quote, as stated by Lennon, would make sense in the context Lewisohn provides. There’s no confusion about what decision John is discussing here.
But this change isn’t simply superfluous—it actually changes the meaning of the quote in a way that’s only clear if we look at the source. Here’s what immediately precedes the quote:
Tumblr media
“I met Paul, and I made a decision whether to—and he made a decision too—whether to have him in the group or not.” Emphasis mine.
So John is not talking strictly about his decision, he’s talking about Paul and his mutual decision to work together. Without this context, even without the change from “that” to “my”, John seems to be discussing his own decision. Lewisohn’s change is completely unnecessary to get across his point. It’s as if he made this change specifically to push back against John Lennon’s assertion that a young Paul McCartney had autonomy and didn’t simply exist to satisfy John’s whims.
Tune In 8-4 vs. Wenner p.133-4 (3:54:42) + Davies p.44-5
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Color-coded to show the absolute chopped salad Lewisohn made of these two sources.
Also of note is Lewisohn’s follow-up to this quote, “Despite this frank if uncharitable purge of his feelings….” Lewisohn does this elsewhere (notably with John’s quote about hitting women): he follows up a self-critical quote from John with an authorial “Aw, don’t be so hard on yourself, buddy!” It’s unnecessary.
Tune In 8-28 vs. Wenner p.140 + The Mike Douglas Show
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lennon: He’s the greatest rock ‘n’ roll poet, and I really admire him. Douglas: Do you feel the same today as you did years ago in Liverpool about rock? Lennon: When I hear rock, good rock, of the caliber of Chuck Berry, I just fall apart and I have no other interest in life. Y’know, the world could be ending if rock ‘n’ roll’s playing, y’know. It’s a disease of mine.
I wasn’t able to find this quote in the interview audio, but I’m sure its there somewhere. I used Lennon Remembers as a guide to find the correct location of a certain segment in the 4+ hour audio, and it is apparent that certain parts of Lennon Remembers have been reordered.
I transcribed this section of the Mike Douglas Show from a video posted on the Shanghai-based streaming app BiliBili - see link in my source list.
Lewisohn uses an ellipsis to indicate a transition between two totally different sources here but does not use an ellipsis to indicate the phrases he left out of the Wenner interview. There are several small changes to the quote from the Mike Douglas show as well, but the meaning is retained.
Tune In 22-78 vs. Robinson 1975 + Wenner p.122 (1:33:20)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first source here is Lisa Robinson’s 1975 interview with John for Hit Parader. You can find a version of this interview here. Note the lack of ellipsis between the purple and pink sections, despite the lengthy omission between them.
Lewisohn does use an ellipsis in the Wenner-derived portion of this quote, but he doesn’t place it correctly. The omission occurs between “and” and “Brian”, not between the rest of the quote and “and Brian.”
It wouldn’t make sense to include Allen Klein and Yoko Ono in this quote as it appears in Tune In, since they won’t appear until much later in the series, but I do wonder if presenting the quote without their names truly preserves the quote’s meaning. However you feel about them personally, Allen Klein and Yoko Ono are two of the most controversial figures in Beatles’ history. Within a few years of this interview, John would be on the outs with Allen Klein. John describes himself as someone who “make[s] a lot of mistakes character-wise”, and goes on to list three examples of his good judgments. Two of those are Allen and Yoko. Is it intellectually honest to delete those two names from the list and present Brian as the one example of John’s character judgment?
And our final Wenner Frankenquote. This one isn’t from Lennon Remembers, but from a 1970 Rolling Stone article titled “The Beatles: One Guy Standing There, Shouting ‘I’m Leaving’.”
Tune In 22-72 vs. Wenner 1970 + Robinson 1975
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This one is audacious enough to warrant its own post—and we’re in luck! I defer to @mythserene's post for proper analysis. You can also find this one discussed in @anotherkindofmindpod's "Fine Tuning: Ep 7 Spanner in the Works."
In brief, in the ‘quote’ lifted from Wenner’s interview, John is using “Epstein” as a stand-in for Klein. John’s not saying “Three of us chose Epstein”—he’s saying “Three of us chose Klein, throw aside your assumptions about him for a minute.” It’s not the sort of quote you can divorce from its context if you have any credibility.
Some Context on Michael X and John Lennon:
Michael X (a.k.a. Michael Abdul Malik, born Michael de Freitas) was born in Trinidad and became a prominent member of the black Power movement in 1960s London. Lennon met Michael X early in 1970 and became a devoted supporter and advocate until Malik’s death in 1975 (Wiener 1991, p.115-123). Here’s a brief rundown of their involvement:
Since you’re the sort of person who reads citation-by-citation analyses of Beatles books, you have probably seen pictures from early 1970 of John and Yoko sporting matching pixie cuts. In January 1970, John and Yoko shaved their heads (as a publicity stunt, I assume?), and kept their shorn hair in a bag. This bag of hair was the centerpiece for their first public interaction with Michael X: in February 1970, Lennon and Ono gave Malik their bag of hair, and he gave them a pair of Muhammad Ali’s shorts. The press was very much present, but they failed to make headlines (Doggett 118). The hair was supposed to be auctioned off at Sotheby’s to support Malik’s Black House, but this fell through (see Lennon on The Dick Cavett show here.) Pictures of the event can be seen at The Beatles Bible.
Malik fled London for his native Trinidad when legal issues loomed in 1971. He started a commune there, which John visited in April of the same year. In 1972, the bodies of Joseph Skerritt and Gale Benson were found on the commune (Weiner 1991, p.118). Malik was convicted of ordering the killing of Skerritt and would be hanged for that crime in 1975 (NYT 1975 May 17).
Malik may or may not have ordered Skerritt’s murder, but regardless, he did not have a fair trial. John and Yoko campaigned from the time of his conviction up until his death for clemency, without result (Weiner 1991, p.119-123).

Heretics, it has been... some time, has it not? Some time since I regaled you with my dulcet tones, some time since you've heard from the apostate behind the painting.
Well. Here I remain, and to here I return, to speak directly to you, rather than from behind the shield of my prose.
I went to a poetry slam, heretics. I performed at a poetry slam, heretics. My tongue stumbled against the uneven ridges of my teeth, and my soul began to pool about my feet, but I stood upon a spotlit stage, and read work, my work to a crowd of people. And they liked it. They really liked it.
I find your support invaluable, each time you do funky little numbers in front of my eyes it makes my heart leap and bound and swallow a few more filing cabinets, just for you. But to have the canvas of my life's work displayed for a group of strangers, before me, a crowd I had been part of, and would summarily return to, and not be rejected?
To be encouraged, my work celebrated with applause and words far kinder than any I had hoped to hear... I doubt I will remember it anything less than fondly.
A few housekeeping things, then, as my bleeding personal life can only stave off Those Roving Bones for so long;
I'm writing a book! Those of you a year in will have known this, no shame upon those who hadn't, it's taken me quite a long time, and as a result my writing style and standards have mutated somewhat.
also someone said altering tenses were a mark of unprofessional writing and i argue that what is first person present than the constant battle between the past and the future and that ever fleeting now, but steady arguments do not stave off existential dread, and I was deathly afraid of that for a few days. which was fun.
It has not crawled its way towards a blood child of its own, but someone quite dear to me suggested that I simply, publish other things of my own, perhaps from the piles of work I have accumulated after I realized I actually enjoyed this and would like to do it for a living, yes I wrote a novel for kicks, I was twelve and stupid, now I'm significantly older and self-aware. Which is something.
But I'm... I'm compiling a poetry anthology, some of which will ring familiar to you, heretics, some of which has never graced eyes beyond my own, and I hope to have physical copies by the end of the year, and digital distribution for those less inclined to wait.
I never thought I'd get this far. I doubt any large number of people will purchase it, I don't expect you to, heretic, and I do not fault you for lack of funds or interest. But if you've reached this far, I would like to thank you regardless.
Thank you for accompanying me so far into a journey I have so far to walk, and I can't fucking wait, thank you for indulging in my funky little word meatballs, I can't wait to figure out filet mignon, thank you for reading this, this weird update with wandering plots and no through line but my passion for an art I had no idea I was growing when I started this.
My profile picture should be changing within the next few weeks, it might be longer, it's not done yet, but it is mine, and I hope you all like it half as much as I do.
My username may be changing alongside it, but never to fear, that will be accompanied with far larger a focus, so you will notice should that come into effect. How do we all feel about Skeletal Scribes and 's' alliterations? there's a third consideration rounding out the set, but it shouldn't be strenuous to suss out, seeing my stylistic strain.
also i just put the finishing touches on a chapter of the novel, i broke 5 thousand words in a purely dialogue project i've been biting through, and all around have been crafting prose like you wouldn't fucking believe. or maybe you would, i don't live in the space between your ears.
Things are changing, just as many will hold themselves static, and I hope to see you there. As always, to you.

Ah yes, the time has come.
Tumblr media
It's time to get your pen and paper because class is in session!
There's plenty of things I could talk about and I pretty much covered the basics down below, but I'm more than willing to help y'all out with anything specific!
I have to preface that I'm not an English major by any means nor do I have any experience writing professionally, the things listed below are purely based on my opinions and submissions I have received.
Writing is forever a learning process, there really isn't a right way of writing but there are definitely some things that will hinder your readers. Here is a list that I compiled both with my own experiences as well as some user submitted issues when it comes to reading works:
•Big blocks of text
° Typos/wrong word usage
•Using the same words
°Too spaced out/not indented where needed
• Dialogue runs into normal sentences
° Speakers/POVs change without notice
• Inconsistencies, either in general or story inconsistencies
°Lack of description/Too much description
• Bland/Artificial actions/dialogue
° Misuse of punctuation/lack thereof
• Capitalization errors
° Long winded sentences
• Using italics for actions
° Confusing formating
• Changing in Tenses
° Using wrong tags/falsely advertising (ex. Reader x Blank should have Y/N, not an OC/Authors name)
• Author notes/comics/pictures in middle of fic
° "~This is a transition~"
• Forcing a character to be OOC for sake of story
° Filler characters
• Not sticking to a specific genre/jumpy moods
Now don't be intimidated by this list! Some of these are pretty self explanatory so I won't go into a few of them. There are plenty of ways to avoid these and in some cases it is perfectly fine to use any of the above.
Let's start off with the basics!
Sentence structure is the backbone of writing, but it's a very flexible rule. Obviously you have your subject, verb, object and whatnot, but the true art lies in word choice and length.
When it comes to sentences, size does matter. If your sentences are too short they will seem choppy and unfinished, whereas if they are long they will seem winded and unnatural. The biggest tool you can use to find out if a sentence is too short/long is by reading it aloud! If you run out of breath it's too long but if you finish abruptly it's too short.
Word choice is my favorite weapon to work with, I could describe a blue jay as a normal bird or as a mythical animal just by picking the right words!
"The blue jay flew across the field while it sang it's melody."
Or
"A creature with wings made of clouds swooped across the field whilst roaring out a devilish tune."
Word choice can easily convey tone/feeling so it's definitely an important element to writing! If you ever have trouble finding that perfect word try googling for synonyms! Also this website might help you find that one word that you just can't think of!
Grammar is also a very important part of writing. Using the right words and punctuation can be difficult sometimes but there are some easy fixes!
Spelling is an easy fix, if you forgot/don't know how to spell a word consulting a dictionary or Google is a surefire way of solving your problem. You can even find synonyms if you feel like you've used a word too much.
Punctuation on the other can be a big more difficult, however.
Here's a couple of sentences that helped me learn basic punctuation:
A comma splice walks into a bar, it has a drink then leaves. Commas are a means of sewing two sentences together to form a compound sentence. These are mainly used to list out things and to add fluidity to your works so they don't sound as choppy.
A question mark walks into a bar? Question marks are pretty self explanatory. They either raise a question or form uncertainty.
Two quotation marks "walk" into a bar. Quotations are used for both dialogue and metaphors. I personally love using them for sarcasm!
A gerund and an infinitive walk into a bar, drinking to drink. This one is a tougher one that I personally never learned from any of my classes. A gerund is basically a word that can act as a verb or a noun which would be "drinking". An infinitive is the base of a verb, in this case it's "drink".
The bar was walked into by a passive voice. A passive voice is when you emphasize the action and object of a sentence rather than the subject. You can find that a passive voice tends to use past tense where as an active voice uses present/future tense.
Three intransitives walk into a bar. They sit. They drink. They leave. An intransitive verb is an action verb, expressing a doable activity like arrive, go, lie, sneeze, sit, die, etc.
Some other things that I commonly see are the wrong usages of words. For example:
They: a group of individuals/pronoun "Yeah, they said he'd be here thirty minutes ago."
Their: a possessive pronoun "Leave their stuff alone!'
There: location "What's that over there?"
Then: event/action "Val went to the mall then skittered to the park."
Your: possessive "Your self esteem is lower than the Mariana's Trench!"
You're: a conjunctive "you are"
Affect: caused by actions "The fallen french fry really affected Val's mood."
Effect: caused by events "Climate change has a negative effect on my Cheerios."
Peaked: a summit "Val has peaked at 10:19pm"
Piqued: stimulate interest/curiosity "You have piqued Val's interest by mentioning food."
Do time: "Val is fixin' to do time if she keeps slacking."
Due time: "Val will come with hydration in due time."
Per say: not a thing
Per se: by/in itself "She didn't write this late at night, per se…"
There are different tools you can use to spice up your writings, from metaphors to innuendos, all the way to zeugmas! Let's go over the basic definitions of these bad boys.
Metaphor: a figure of speech that is not literally applicable. "The darkness surrounded us like a shroud." Obviously the darkness can't physically shroud anyone.
Innuendo: a sentence with a hidden meaning "Is that a gator in your pants or are you just happy to see me~"
Zeugma: a sentence containing words that can be used literally and figuratively, like a love child of the two above. "Val and her coupon expired last week." This implies that not only did my Colgate coupon expire, but I died as well.
Paragraphs are a necessity when it comes to writing. Big blocks of text are an eyestrain to readers and it's easy to lose your place, even if it's only 150 words. It's always best to use Tab or at least 5 spaces when indenting. A paragraph should only be 5-7 sentences long, this is so it's not just multiple blocks of text
When to add a new paragraph:
° A new person comes in
• New idea/context
° Setting changes
• New person is speaking
° Time changes
• The "camera" moves
° Tone shifts
• 5-7 sentences has been reached
Paragraphs help you organize your work in a way and they make it easier for your readers' eyes!
POVs are also very important. First person and third person are by far the most common ones so I'll only touch on these two. It's very important to write a story in one strict POV as to not confuse the readers. You can however jump perspectives like Heroes of Olmpyus by Rick Rodian, as long as the ready can easily tell who is telling the story.
First person is a story that is told from first-hand experience. It's the same as if I told y'all the story on how I almost chopped off my thumb in woodshop class back in middle school. First person tends to use a lot of I's and my's
Third person is a story that is told from a narrators' point of view. Such as "Once upon a time" type of stories. I's and my's should only be used in dialogue
Dialogue is probably one of the most important features of any fic/story. Dialogue can push plots forward as well as add life to a character. Here's a simple exchanged:
"Hiya 'Splodey," Val chirped.
Katuski smirked, "M'dumbass."
Dialogue should always come with a pair of quotation marks. Commas and periods generally go inside the quotation marks whereas dashes, colons, and semicolons almost always go outside the quotation marks. Question marks and exclamation marks however can go either inside or outside, it goes by a case by case basis. Always indent whenever a different speaker is talking, running quotes into each other is a no-go because it causes confusion and eyestrain.
You have to be wary of using simple dialogue exchanges though, if they seem off try saying them out loud! Dialogue is one of my favorite things to write because you can weave personality into them, not to mention you can always hear people talking to get a better idea on how to write dialogue.
For example, I have a southern dialect, meaning I sound different than someone from the north! I use words like "y'all", "fixin'", "finna", "ain't" and have a different vocabulary than that of my northern friends. This means that the characters you're portraying should have their own way of speaking! This will not only add flavor to your dialogue but it also adds to their personalities/backgrounds.
Describing things can be just as valuable as dialogue, but it is a bit more complex. Sure we've all heard of the "show, don't tell" rule. Which is a good rule to follow, however too much showing is just as bad as telling. Again, reading out your work is a great way to tell if you're focusing too much on one thing. Another thing to keep in mind is importance, such as do we really need to know that the grass outside was bluegrass? Which in certain situations it would be! For example:
The grass around the disheveled house was brown and straw-like, with the exception of a ring of grass. Bluegrass. Which wasn't even native to this location.
This paints a pretty good spooky picture in the readers' mind and even adds the element suspense by the implied uncertainty.
I've only covered a small portion of writing so if y'all have any questions or need any help feel free to slide into my DMs or send in an ask! I love getting questions about writing and I'm always willing to help a fellow writer!

Note
i actually got into nct through a recommendation from a friend, but i have always been a huge fan of other SM artists. at that point, I've heard of nct before, but hadn't gone out of my way to really get into them. but it changed after i saw Boss. initially i was super hooked by jaehyun just in the intro, because I'm very interested in the vocals in a group, and his baritone and skill isn't often seen in kpop. and then i heard doyoung's high note, the two had me hooked immediately. but at the time, i wasn't really into shipping right out of the gate, i only really ship pairs that seem like there is something there, same with my other groups when i was a multi. i like to say that i go through "phases" where i go through as much content as i can, starting off with a bit from the present to get a good idea of whose who, and then going all the way back to their debut to watch content. at present time, it was when jaedo guested together with mark on Hello Counselor, that i thought something might be up between them. to me, it was interesting how despite both's obvious fondness for mark, he seemed like a "third-wheel" because the two just kept looking directly at each other, even with mark in between them, to talk to each other. that was the first hint to me. (in that episode, i also decided to bias doyoung because of the way he carried himself and spoke in HC) but by then, i had started getting into stan twt and i came across a dotae twt au which got me shipping them, because i never bought into the "oh they hate each other" because dotae act the same way me and my best friends do. so at that point, i watched most of their recent content, and decided to watch nct life. since i "shipped" dotae, i had at first paid extra attention to their interactions, but jaehyun was my bias wrecker so naturally i paid attention to him as well. turns out, it was a lot easier to pay attention to both of them because of the obvious way that jaehyun would look at, and just talk to doyoung that was different than how he interacted with anyone else. dotae became more and more just a super close, tight friendship in my eyes, and i wanted to see more of jaedo. but it was 2018, and i never really bothered to watch vlives because it's a lot more candid and i was a busy student, and i enjoyed direct variety shows for entertainment. so it seemed like jaedo were continuing that drought from 2017, till i saw the jaedo side of stan twt and came across all of their moments. doyoung's reactions to all of the flirting jaehyun did, and the way he had responded made it even more likely that something was there. i started reading jaedo ff ff on ao3 and eventually, as i made my way through their tag, i came across your posts there which lead me to here. and all of the thoughts i had (especially the way that the deliberate /lack/ of jaedo speaks volumes - bc i have stanned other SM groups, and they heavily pushed ships but jaedo was purposely edited out, but if you pay close attention to detail, then they are almost always in the background, until even that was more monitored by themselves) aligned with yours, which makes me almost 99% sure that you're right on the mark, especially with your assumed timeline of jaedo events
Thank you for the detailed account, anon. A few other readers also told how at first they shipped one pairing, but then switched to Jaedo. The revealing moments are dispersed across many hours of video content, and noone has time to watch absolutely everything. Shippers' compilations help a lot, however, without the context and translation, they are not very persuasive.
2017 didn't have vlives, so I don't hope I will be able to find the month Doyoung accepted his feelings. However, we have years of passed time, big changes end up being visible through ripples.
One thought has come to me. There was a lot of change in dynamics and friendships in 127, even Taedo (Tae denied before Do's affection in public, now he is the one who is the clingiest). Jaedo, if we look past the cover up, stayed the same. They practically have two dating periods and a break up inbetween.

Jungkook taking care of Jimin
okay so, I've been missing jikook awfully lately so I decided to make this little thread.
This will probably be rather long so hope you enjoy :D
1. Offering him jacket when Jimin is (probably) cold
Tumblr media
In the first one, Jungkook is seen wearing that blue hoodie at the beginning of the video, and at the end of it you can see Jimin comfortably goofing around in that same blue hoodie.
In the second one you clearly can see Jungkook himself offering the hoodie to Jimin.
And in the third one, even tho Jimin said he took the jacket from Jungkook, Jungkook could have still said no since it was really cold and rainy that day, but instead we have jikook sharing warmth and being cuddly in one jacket. I approve.
2. Going as far to follow Jimin's diet to prove him it isn't healthy
Tumblr media
I think the picture is self explanatory. Jimin was doing this extreme diet where he only ate one meal per day so Jungkook decided to do the same as to prove it's not healthy.
3. Always feeding him and checking if he ate
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To connect on the previous fact, Jungkook is rather always keen on feeding Jimin and idk if it's just me but it feels like he is constantly checking jimin if he ate well.
Like in the second gif, Jimin was waiting for Seokjin to feed him but Seokjin didn't notice that, so Jungkook took the chopsticks from Seokjin and fed Jimin himself.
In the third gif, Hoseok was eating some candy and Jungkook went to him, literally took one while he was trying to put it into his mouth and gave it to Jimin :D
I'm probably looking too much into it but it just catches my eye how in that RUN EP.39 while they were playing 'Yes or No', Jungkook was the MC and the only questions he asked "Did you eat well?".
Or in RUN EP.38 while Seokjin and Jimin were eating at the table, Jungkook came to them and said "You can't leave anything, okay?".
And even now in the latest RUN episode Jungkook during "lunch" there was a short clip of Jungkook putting more food on Jimin's plate. Idk I just find it really endearing and cute.
4. Protecting him
As we all know, airport is a war zone most of the time for BTS. Constant pushing around, screaming fans.
Once, in 2016, Jimin tripped or was pushed down by fans that mobbed them and he fell down. Luckily manager quickly picked him up so he wasn't badly hurt. The next day you can see Jungkook walking side by side with Jimin, with his arm on his shoulder. And on many occasions you can just see jikook insuperable at airports.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also Jimin himself, when he was asked to choose a member he would like to travel with, wrote down JK and said that "It seems like he will protect me from others."
5. Always encouraging him and assuring him that he is doing okay
Sure, it's well know that Jungkook loves to tease Jimin but he acknowledges when Jimin is really feeling anxious or worried so he makes sure to assure him that he's doing well.
During this interview (it's around 1:50 mark) the question was "Do you have anything that you regretted in?" and as soon as Jimin said "How do I start talking about my past?" Jungkook nust randomly said "No, hyung you're handsome!" and even tho members were teasing Jimin about his last selfies and Jungkook joined, the gesture was still sweet and cute.
If I remember correctly during BTS BIRTHDAY PARTY 2016 Jimin was one of the MCs and he was struggling to take the sheet of the boards and members were teasing him about that and his cute mistakes while MCing but Jungkook just kept saying "Cut him some slack" or "Hyung you're doing good!" multiple times.
Tumblr media
He's ways quick to encourage him when he starts doubting his voice skills or literally anything.
Praising his food, basketball skills, his skills for being collected while solving that puzzle during RUN EP.38. Jungkook is always there to say something nice and encouraging.
Sure, he teases him, but Jungkook the best knows when Jimin needs kind words to keep him grounded.
6. Making him laugh
This is a well known and established fact in jikook community. Jeon Jungkook is there to make Jimin laugh.
There's so many moments where Jungkook would act silly just to make Jimin laugh or he would act silly, then loon at Jimin to see if he laughed and if he did he would do it again just because. Or he would look at Jimin before acting silly to see if he's looking at him and the he would do it.
Tumblr media
For examples here are some videos:
Jimin's laugh Compilation made by Jungkook
Jungkook always makes Jimin laugh so hard
And many more that you can find :D
Also let me just add this here:
Tumblr media
7. Jungkook is whipped for Jimin
This may not seem like "taking care of him" but for me it is.
It hides in complaining how slow Jimin is sometimes but still waiting for him to get off the stage together or falling behind with him all the time during BON VOYAGE SEASON 1.
Saying he will prank him about his lost phone, but as soon as seeing Jimin's troubled face he pulled that phone straight out of his pocket.
Only buying Jimin a birthday present, taking him on a trip, just two of them (scream loudly if you're still crying over G.C.F in Tokyo bc I sure as hell am).
Losing the game just so he could share a room with Jimin.
Always massaging his shoulders/neck.
It's all just the little things but really nice gestures.
And that's it. I wish I could make this longer but at the end I only was able to use words since Tumblr allows only 10 photos in one post but I could go on and on with photos of Jungkook looking at Jimin with that smitten look or video of him making Jimin laugh.
Hope you liked it :D

The inaugural show of Paul McCartney and his band's Got Back tour that took place at the Spokane Arena in Spokane, Washington on Thursday (April 28) included McCartney's virtual duet with the late John Lennon.
McCartney's performance of The Beatles' "I've Got A Feeling" featured Lennon in footage from the group's famous rooftop concert, as seen in the "Get Back" docuseries. McCartney, who opened the show with "Can't Buy Me Love" and performed his hit singles of the 1970s, and did several Beatles songs including "Carry That Weight/The End," also debuted live the "Women and Wives" song from his McCartney III album, during the 36-song set. "Wow, is all I can say [is] you've been a fantastic audience for our opening night," McCartney told the sellout audience at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.
The Beach Boys have announced a year-long celebration of their 60th anniversary, that will start with the launch of an extended version of their 2003 Sounds of Summer compilation. The new edition, Sounds Of Summer: The Very Best Of The Beach Boys, which is set to arrive in multiple formats on June 17, will see an addition of 50 tracks to the original 30, with many songs presented in completely new mixes. There will be a numbered, limited super-deluxe six-LP vinyl box set in foil slipcase with four collectible lithographs. The band has also announced that a new documentary is in the making, along with a tribute special, exhibitions and new merchandise. More events are lined up as well to mark the year-long celebration.
KISS' Gene Simmons has once again invited his former bandmate Ace Frehley to join the band during their ongoing farewell "End of the Road World Tour." In a tweet marking Frehley's 71st birthday on April 27, Simmons wrote, "Happy Birthday, Ace. And many more." The singer and bassist added, "The invitations still stand. Jump up onstage with us for encores. The fans would love it." In 2019, Simmons had made a comment that Frehley and ex-KISS drummer Peter Criss are welcome to join the band onstage "here and there" but said they are "never going to be in KISS again." "Ace and Peter have gotten three chances," Simmons told Guitar World in 2019. "They were in and out of the band — fired — three times. For drugs, alcohol, bad behavior, being unprofessional. … So the only reason Ace and Peter were let go the first time, and then the second time and then the third time, is that they weren't carrying their load."
"So the short answer to your question is we'd love to have Ace and Peter join us here and there," he added. "And if they don't, it's not going to be because of us. But they're never going to be in Kiss again."

I'VE BEEN PONDERING COMPANIES
The CEO of that company, the next Steve Jobs, but he described his co-founder of Excite. As food got cheaper or we got richer; they're indistinguishable, eating too much started to be a research scientist: you're not committing to solve any specific problem; you don't know that number, you don't even know if you're doing well or badly. Judging yourself by weekly growth doesn't mean you should talk like some kind of purpose, rather than the company that creates the next wave of hardware is probably going to have to travel to attend board meetings, and in 1957 his top people—the Bay Area would be the ideal place—that it didn't predict anything. In theory there could be other ways to attract them, but they don't have to be trimmed properly; the engines have to be new—that it would be hard for anyone to stop them. It's in these more chaotic fields that it helps most to be in a town that has attractions other than the university. The startup world became more transparent and more unpredictable. There are two ways delivery and payment could play out. And, strangely enough, it's also why they fail so frequently. For most people, rich or poor, stuff has become a burden. Economic power would have been strong 100 years ago. One of the occupational hazards of living in Cambridge is overhearing the conversations of people who use interrogative intonation in declarative sentences.
Who will? If you wanted to start a new company, Fairchild Semiconductor. The random college kid you talk to today might in a horse race. And if you don't get that initial core of users, there won't be many of them. And what happens at Y Combinator is as different from what we think of now as cancer. No, there will be no more great new stuff beyond whatever's currently in the pipeline. Sure, at one point they were a just a couple guys in a garage—but even then their greatness was assured, and all they had to do was wait, and the weather's often bad. Its length and slope determine how big the company will be. I'm pretty sure that to people 50 or 100 years in the future. Similarly for companies constrained in a.
You make something that looks to the user like the sufficiently smart compiler, and it is a byword for impossibility. Venture investors are driven by exit strategies. We try to pick founders who are good at building things, not ones who are slick presenters. During the Bubble a lot of help. The good news is that the IPO market is gone. Ten weeks is not much time. That might sound like an attractive prospect, and yet make it seem conversational. Don't talk about secondary matters at length. If he wants to be on a larger scale than Youtube clips.
So in effect what's happened is that a new ecological niche has opened up, and Y Combinator is get startups launched straight. Barbershops are doing fine in the a department. It wouldn't be surprising if it were actually those two, Jobs would speak for the entire 10 minutes. You have to know who you should be smarter. Now that's what I call a startup idea. That difference is why there's a separate word for startups, and b reach and serve all those people. Now we'll show it to you and explain why people need this. One of Silicon Valley's biggest advantages is its venture capital firms. New York, which attracts a lot of help. Or worse still, a mere bargain? We're not a replacement for venture capital funds.
Most fairly good ideas are adjacent to even better ones. The other reason no one was doing quite what we do is that till recently it was a novel idea to introduce into a company in the 1980s. So you'll be willing for example to hire another programmer? In the earliest phase they tend to be different kinds of questions. That's their secret. They'll decide later if they want to raise VC-scale funding, and if they take it, they'll take it on their terms. Neither Bill Gates nor Mark Zuckerberg knew at first how big their companies were going to get replaced eventually, why not now? Whereas VCs need to invest in come to him through referrals. There's a kind of thinking you do without trying to. Chicago has the third largest metropolitan area in America. They make the experience of buying stuff so pleasant that shopping becomes a leisure activity. Anyone who invested in private companies in return for a percentage of their profits?
In the long term, that could be a bad thing for New York. Practically every question is still unanswered. There's another thing all three components of Web 2. When I first meet founders and ask what their growth rate. What's different about successful founders is that they get paid by getting their capital back, ideally after the startup IPOs, or failing that when it's acquired. Maybe the Internet will change things further. GMail has become painfully slow. Even the most ambitious people are ambitious about, it's not a sign of sanity. After a while they all blur together. What's different about successful founders is that they can accelerate fast. Among them were Gordon Moore and Robert Noyce, who went on to do great things, you find a lot that began with someone pounding out a prototype in a week or two of nonstop work. Silicon Valley.
But acquirers have an additional reason to want startups. I'd always imagined Berkeley would be the answer. A company making $1000 a month. Now I understand what she meant. When a friend of mine once had her brain scanned as part of a study. Another way to resist acquiring stuff is to think of something fairly novel. Why did he? Barely airborne, but enough that they can accelerate fast. Imagine walking around for years with five pound ankle weights, then suddenly having them removed. The only way you're ever going to extract any value from it is to use it. A startup has to make a conscious effort to find ideas everyone else has overlooked. The most admired Web 2.
The reason is that they can accelerate fast. I would not want to face an angry Ronco. Let me conclude with some tactical advice. That is certainly true; in fact, don't even ask for their email address unless you need it for some reason. How do you decide who's the most interesting? It has always mattered for women, but in the late 90s was an abuse. Startup I advised startups never to let any other company offer a cheaper, easier solution. The most ambitious is to try to discover something no one knew before. Reward is always proportionate to risk, and very early stage startups are insanely risky. It stands to reason it would evolve. One reason that's unlikely is that someone starting a startup in New York admire more.
