Spotlight: we love an anthem! rina hits the nail on the head with this ode to community and finding solidarity in your found family. musically, this is a strong and fun song that is channeling lady gaga. to top it all off, rina throws in some fun pop culture references to shania twain, paris hilton, and miranda priestly.

Crash is no How I'm Feeling Now, but it's pretty good. "Yuck" hits the "it's extremely offensive of you to suggest that I experience emotions" trope, which is one of my faves. The bonus tracks feature "How Can I not Know what I Need Right Now", which is the closest the album gets to the vibe How I'm Feeling Now. "Beg For You" is the best track Rina Sawayama's been on this year, which is partly a reflection of Hold that Girl being IMO a big disappointment compared to Sawayama: more ballads, which I don't think are Sawayama's strength (though it does take a very particular vibe for me to like a ballad). "This Hell" is great, though.
