Trey Azagthoth (born George Michel Emmanuel III March 26, 1965 in Bellingham, Washington, United States) is an American musician best known as founder and guitarist of the Florida death metal band Morbid Angel.[1]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After his graduation in 1984 Emmanuel founded his second band under the name Heretic and began to write his first songs.[3] The band later renamed itself Morbid Angel and Emmanuel adopted the nickname Trey Azagthoth. The name Trey refers to the name component "III" (the third) and Azagthoth to the fictional deity Azathoth from the Cthulhu Mythos and Dream Cycle stories. Musically and lyrically, Azagthoth draws much of his inspiration from the literary work of H. P. Lovecraft but also from video games such as Quake III or Doom and anime like Sailor Moon.[4] Throughout the years and despite the numerous line-up changes Azagthoth has remained a constant member and the main songwriter of the band.

Denny Laine (born Brian Frederick Arthur Hines; 29 October 1944 – 5 December 2023) was an English #musician, #singer, and #songwriter, known as a founder of two major rock bands: the Moody Blues, with whom he played from 1964 to 1966, and Wings, with whom he played from 1971 to 1981. Laine worked with a variety of artists and groups over a six-decade career, and continued to record and perform as a solo artist. In 2018, Laine was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Moody Blues.[1]

In 1964, Laine left the Diplomats, and shortly afterwards, he received a call from Ray Thomas and Mike Pinder to form a new band, the M&B 5, which eventually was changed to the Moody Blues.[8] He sang lead vocal on the group's first big hit, "Go Now"

A compilation album of singles and album tracks of the early Moody Blues, led by Denny Laine, was released in 2006 under the title An Introduction to The Moody Blues.[11]

In 1971, Laine joined forces with Paul McCartney and wife Linda to form Wings,[8] and he remained with the group for 10 years until they disbanded in 1981, being the only three permanent members of the band.[2] Laine provided lead and rhythm guitars, lead and backing vocals, keyboards, bass guitar and woodwind, in addition to writing or co-writing some of the group's material.

With Wings, Laine enjoyed the biggest commercial and critical successes of his career. The non-album single "Mull of Kintyre" co-written with McCartney.

Laine died from interstitial lung disease in Naples, Florida, on 5 December 2023, at the age of 79.[26][27][28] His wife announced his death on his official Facebook and Instagram pages.[29][30]

Hiii!! Ufff I don't know how to tell you that I love your take on Floyd. like some bad bad life decisions were taken (THAT SO!!! INTERESTING FOR HIM). Do you think he ever feels ashamed of himself when he looks at Branch's eyes, like "shit, this guy really believes in me" or "he doesn't even know everything I have done"? Like he has some really BIG "Love me Less by Max" vibes
They all really believe in his goodness which is worse
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And OH he definitely feels so much shame and regret. I think a big part of why he fell as hard as he did was because he finally didn't have to be his brothers' mediator, and I guess at one point he forgot that he still needed to be the voice of reason for himself. His new band mates encouraging his reckless behavior didn't help. Honestly I personally think young Floyd was a very naive kid and very dependent on his older brothers but his strong empathy gave them all the impression that he was much more mature and independent than he really was...
So yeah... you can imagine that constantly partying, doing drugs and sleeping around wears someone down after a few years. I think Floyd also went gray like Branch (not for as long tho) and he broke up with the band wanting to go home badly, but he was also ashamed of showing his face after a number of years as a gray drug addict, so he kind of just ended up alone...
If we're sharing songs, I have to show you this one by Linkin Park because I think Floyd wrote it for Branch (and the rest of his family (and some parts also addressing himself)) while he was at that desperate and lonely period because I am also extremely emo
