Sun Wukong strikes me as a person who takes pride in doing a job well. Also I think he's a harder worker then people give him credit for.
Yes! When Sun Wukong puts his mind into something he gives it his all and does his very best. He diligently searched for immortality, spending 9 years on the South Jambūdvīpa Continent. During this time, he was also able to learn about human conduct all on his own. He then trained under Patriarch Puti for 7 years, becoming one of the Patriarch's best students.
And you know lemme share with you something that really blew my mind. The Jade Emperor in two of his myths had to cultivate himself for more than 3 million years to get where he is today. Sun Wukong, meanwhile, cultivated himself for 7 years under Patriarch Puti and in that short period of time he managed to rival that of Heaven itself. The power scaling is INSANE! Really goes to show how op Wukong is 😭 Just imagine how much powerful Wukong could be if Patriarch Puti didn't expell him!
#relscreeches#I also like to think that Wukong's immortality speedrun turned off a lot of the celestials in Heaven#They can't believe that a yaoguai monkey managed to reach--even surpass their own level#Of course Heaven feared Wukong as well#So when the Jade Emperor made SWK as baimawen it was Heaven's way of putting this bogus immortal monkey in his place#And another thing#They wanted to make sure they could keep Wukong under control#TDLR: Heaven is salty because Sun Wukong#A yaoguai managed to outshine them#But yeah that's my own take hhhh#I think it's a bit funny as well#HAHHAHABEHEJEIEIE

Cursed Warlords AU - Chapter #6 - The Forest
Macaque and Sun Wukong run off into the forest and run into trouble, now they have to be found and saved.
Macaque chirped at Wukong as they bound through the thick forest. With their small forms they were easily able to dodge around bushes and hop over or under branches. The dense forest stood no chance at stopping them. Now while these two didn’t know their exact location they knew what direction they needed to go to get to the ocean.
If they were able to get to the ocean then they would be able to find someone who would understand them. After all several villages around the ocean’s edge have become home to their people, monkey yougai who wished to help their Kings by holding down these villages under their control. Villages which each had a clone of Sun Wukong and Macaque taking care of them, these clones which vanished the minute the curse took effect.
The thought of the curse pissed Macaque off to no end, however he pushed the thought away in favor of following after his mate. It was just the two of them once again and no human to bother them… No human woman to bother them.
“Finally no more woman to hold us back,” Wukong chirped confidently.
Macaque chirped back in agreement as best he could. He didn’t like being held by the woman, that he was sure of… or was he? She was warm and had such a nice voice. She even let them up onto her shoulders when they didn’t want to be held. Rather quickly he those thoughts were quickly thrown out.
How could he have such thoughts!? Was it because his mate now looked like a cub? No. That couldn’t be it. While he held no attraction towards his mate’s tiny form he was still his mate and he wasn’t going to pant after some human woman! He still loved and adored his mate! He was confident in this, the only problem was the curse made him look far too young.
As soon as they fixed the curse, then both he and his mate would never have to deal with anything like this ever again. Yes that’s right, as soon as the curse was over they would be able to return to their own lives. That woman would never be in their thoughts again, they may not hunt her but if they were to see her again maybe they would kill her. A swift death as a single mercy to her… or they could make her a prisoner. Spare her life and keep her as someone to help take care of them.
No! What was he thinking!? He would never bring a HUMAN onto the island.
“Yes good riddance,” Macaque chirped back hoping that his mate didn't’ sense his hesitation.
Luckily or unluckily, Wukong didn’t notice and proceeded to lead the two deeper into the forest. How own mind was racing with many thoughts of his mate and the woman they left behind. She had been so kind and warm to them even though she had no idea who they were. If she were to know who they really were she would be cowering in fear. As she should.
He was confident she’d be horrified for her actions against the two warlords, the King and the Warrior of Flower Fruit Mountain. He was so confident in this fact that it actually kind of hurt, a pain that he threw away as soon as he recognized what it was.
“Now, let’s get home and return to our rightful thrones,” Wukong was sure that he was exaggerating every word, but he didn’t care since all he cared about was the fact that both he and Macaque were going home. And they were getting away from that dumbass human woman.
Of course as soon as these words left his lips in a series of chirps the deep rumble of a growl was heard right behind them. Slowly the two monkeys turned and looked at the large demonic wolf that stood before them. Blood was already dripping from its maw from its last kill. They didn’t even have to look at each other before they bolted.
Using their size they dove under branches and up trees to get away from the beast. Each attempt to get further away was met with the snarl of the wolf that destroyed everything in it’s path. Frantic chirps escaped them as they ran faster and faster feeling energy buzz through them as they were able to speed up just barely passed the wolf’s speed.
>>><<<
Where the hell were they!? Spirit thought as she bounded through the forest, her eyes following the minisqual path the two monkeys left behind. She had shed her glamour trying to search for these two that annoyed her so much, she was half tempted to just leave the two in the forest to die.
The sound of a growl sounded by her catching her attention. Glancing for a second a scowl covered her face at the sight of a large wolf. Chasing… those dumbass monkeys! Both monkey cubs were bounding towards the village and away from the midnight black wolf that was after their heads.
With a scowl Spirit let out a growl before running towards them, she couldn’t believe that she was actually going to help these two. The wind whipped through her fur as she ran, her feet hitting the ground without an ounce of discretion. Closer… closer… Both monkeys were frantically chirping as they ran, how are they so fast?
*Fwoosh*
Hot red flames were suddenly right in front of the wolf’s muzzle. Immediately it halted, instinctively backing away from the fire as the two monkeys were picked up into welcoming arms. Spirit felt a surge of panic as the wolf snarled at you but with each noise it made you waved the fire in front of its face.
Everything in you screamed to run the other direction but you honestly just couldn’t bring yourself to even move your legs. Everything was absolutely terrifying about this, the sharp teeth that gleamed under the light of the torch, the piercing eyes that stared into your soul, absolutely everything. As if sensing your fear the wolf snapped its fangs at you but you waved the flame once again and the wolf growled.
You held the two monkeys tightly against your chest as you glared down at the wolf which ran away from the flames.
“Reader! What on earth are you doing out here?” Spirit called.
“Fuck- that was absolutely terrifying!” You practically cried holding both of the monkeys closer to your chest.
"Reader! Are you okay?" Spirit yelled as she reached you.
You had collapsed to your knees while holding the two shivering monkeys to your chest. They were both curled into you while letting out quiet rather pathetic chirps as they clung to you like their lives depended on it. They nuzzled to you hoping that you wouldn’t let them go, the very real fear of death hanging over their heads.
“Y-Yeah… Yeah I’m fine. I can’t believe that actually worked,” You let out a nervous laugh at the admission in your own words.
It took a second for Spirit to realize what you meant. However as soon as she did her face heated up with red hot rage. “ARE YOU SERIOUS!?”
You whipped your head to look at her, eyes wide with fright. What did you say!?… Oh. Oh right. Spirit is trying to keep you safe and you just threw yourself into danger that could have easily been avoided. However turning your head back to the two cowering monkeys that curled up against your still rapidly beating heart you couldn’t regret it. They very nearly died!
“Yeah- The man in town said that the monsters stay away from the torches. There were no monsters in the village so I mostly believed him,” You nervously laugh trying to smile for good measure though it was very clearly forced.
Spirit’s eye twitched as she looked at you soothing the two monkeys in your arms. You kept humming a calming tune as they slowly began to calm down. You gently stroked your fingers through the fur of each monkey. You looked anywhere but at the demoness in front of you, who was clearly pissed off with your actions.
"Do you have any idea how stupid that was!?" She suddenly yelled, stomping her foot as she glared at you.
Staring at her for a solid minute a feeling of regret filled your chest. However turning your gaze back down that feeling vanished as the two monkeys shivered in your grasp. Both of them were covered from the dew of the morning and with their size they must have been absolutely freezing.
Without much thought you pulled off your shirt to wrap them in it. Shoving the torch in Spirit's hand, you heard Spirit gasp as you did, but you weren't bothered as you were still wearing a sports bra. Both of the monkeys slowly began to stop shaking and nuzzled into the cloth and each other for warmth.
"There, see everything is going to be okay," you muttered, your eyes calming as you carefully held them.
Spirit was still waiting for a response from you but you had fallen into your thoughts. After having hours of sleep you could finally think clearly, at least much clearer than the day before. You needed to get home and along the way basically adopted two cubs and are stuck with a monkey demoness who wants to help you the way you helped her.
You don't even know if there is a way home, there was no telling if you were stuck here or if you'd return to your world. There was no telling weather you would survive this and yet... you weren't afraid. At least not right now, in the middle of a forest as the sun slowly began rising so that light danced around you. Mist rose around the area as the dew was evaporating.
"I'm sorry for worrying you," your solemn tone caught her off guard, Spirit's eyes widening in shock.
You continued to stare at the two monkeys in your arms, they were so small and helpless. They didn't have parents and they were alone in this world, almost like you. "But I'd do it again."
Spirit didn't even respond as you looked her in the eye, determination blazing through your expression. The light of the fire illuminating your face in the barely lit morning. The sun would get higher and it would get brighter, for now though? It was Spirit's turn to rest.
"Let's get back to the inn, you need some rest," you explained calmly reaching up one hand to hold it against her forehead.
She opened her mouth presumably to protest but stopped short when you stared at her rather firmly. "Alright, let's go."
Finally made the next chapter!! I do hope everyone enjoys this!
As always comments are appreciated and I ask everyone for input on how they like the story or any ideas!
Feel free to reblog this if you want too! ❤️

Heyyyyy I saw Nezha wasn't on the list of characters, and like 100% valid if you don't want to do nezha at all cause y'know forever 12, or you just don't know how to do his character, so like feel free to ignore this if you want/it makes you uncomfortable
But consider (100% platonic): Nezha is friends with mortal reader, and one day reader just gets Sibling Urges™️ and aggressively(affectionately) becomes an pseudo-older sibling to Nezha, and after a while Nezha relaxes cause he can let himself be a kid again.
Sure! It hadn't even occurred to me to do platonic Nezha, thanks so much for the idea!
Also, I did NOT know how to start this, so I just went straight into the head canons, I hope thats alright!
🌸Siblings🌸
>🌸When you and Nezha first became friends, everyone else found it odd
>you were so laid back and carefree, and Nezha was so tense and serious
>You guys were complete opposites in almost every way, but somehow, you two had managed to be friends
>until one day, you just got-✨Sibling Urges✨
>🌸One day you went from being one of his best friends, to an older sibling figure, and he had no idea how you did it
>You started to give him advice, started to do some of his work for him, let him talk his feelings out to you, started to lightly tease him, one time you even managed to give him a noogie
>You started to make him feel relaxed, like he didn’t have to do everything all of the time
>And he hated it
>On one hand, he had so much work to do, to keep the emperors power under control, to keep the celestial realm in check, to keep Wukong in check
>And all of your actions, your ‘sibling’ actions, where making him relaxed, untense his shoulders. even though he knew he had so much work to do, it all felt so small when you were around him
>Even your small teasing for some reason made him smile and relax, he always felt safe when he was with you, like he could trust you. >And he had no idea how to feel about it
>🌸But one day, while he was ‘begrudgingly’ hanging out with you, Mk, Mei, and RedSon, he snapped
>Not in a bad way of course, he just suddenly, gave up on trying to do literally everything
>He joined in on the conversation instead of his previous silence and small nods of acknowledgment
>For the first time in- well, eternity, he felt like he was a kid again
______________________________________________________________
I am not a fan of this one at all, not because of the request of course! I think I’m just in a bit of a writers block, so sorry it so short! I think that I’m gonna shut down requests for a bit, just until my writers block goes away, so sorry!

Honestly, LMK turns the plot on its head so often that I've never voiced this due to the Macaque hate club, but legit. What if Wukong killed Macky trying to save him because as we've seen with MK, he can use that amount of force, that same line, trying to keep someone from certain doom, so why not an out of control monkey with hijacked powers? Macky just. doesn't remember. but that might even be plot relevant since Wukong also doesn't remember things, supposedly. *stares at Nine.* He might've never done anything to Tripitaka and friends, I mean, current Macky has never even SAID anything about hating those guys, heck. He out right SAYS the Monk was good for Wukong and he was allegedly killed AFTER the journey, even if the friendship ties between them never ended afterwards, I honestly struggle to see Macky even being angry enough to want to "save" Wukong as he never did before to just.....be so crazy about it to the point Wukong needs to kill him over it. He'd stand down, he WOULD listen to reason, right? Unless if something else was going on? There'd have to be some other trigger for him to just go off like that, as for all these memories. I bet the "he" Nines was talking about could have been the Demon King of Confusion. You can really make up some fun new powers there, the guy's the first villain ever in JTTW, it's kind of poetic, and also. "Demon KING." Sure, good foe for the Monkey King. They can give him the LBD treatment in raising the prestige.
What if Wukong killed Macky trying to save him[…]?
this has, honestly, been my own theory for what went down since i started lmk. like i knew they would be vague about Wukong and Mackoach’s circumstance because, you know, Wukong did a murder in jttw and this is a kid show intended for an audience of 8-10 year olds. and that kind of topic is a doozy to do right in media (Western media especially).
anyway, by s3, i was under the impression that Macky assumed Wukong killed him final blow style, but Wukong actually left him incapacitated enough for him to admit defeat (and maybe, possibly leaving him for dead, oblivious to the fact that Mac might be too weak to use his shadow powers) because of how much lmk utilizes unreliable narratives. but then, watching Wukong’s and MK’s fight really solidified that original theory of mine. when Mackintosh frees Wukong from his memories in 5x07 (also jfc Wukong literally spent a whole season trapped in his memories and has to do it all over again, my poor babygirl ;-; he’s exhausted!!!!) Wukong looks horrified.
STOP MAKING HIM RELIVE HIS PAST HE ISNT OVER IT AT ALL AND HOLDS TO MUCH GUILT AND REGRET (pls continue!!!! 🙏🙏🙏 put him through the ringer!!!!! make him snap por favor 🥺🥺🥺🥺)
ahem. AnYwAY!
clearly, that fight is considered one of Wukong’s deepest and darkest memories (which were what the 100-eyed Demon was looking for. because he likes the good tea like me frfr) and doesn’t like looking back at. in a way, it makes sense with how much distance he placed between himself and Macody in 1x09 (almost….indifferent one might say 👀 or trying to act apathetic about it which comes off annoyed…..ain’t that interesting?)
but yeah. good food for thought :3
#i also dont think Mac would stand down and listen to Wukong during lmk’s jttw because of their fight in the cave#Wukong had ignored almost every caution and warning Macaroni gave him and now HE is trying to speak reason????#Wukong who called Mac paranoid and too much of an over thinker now wants Mac to listen to him???? <-my assumptions of Macky’s past thoughts#like maybe Wukong would think ‘Macky’s always been the reasonable one. he’ll listen if i try to talk him out of this’#but this ends up pissing Mac off more bc ‘how dare you throw my own words in my face when you never listened to a goddam thing’#you know? that’s my theory of how the fight started. or how it may have escalated further#OH AND THE DEMON KING!!! it would be so much fun to see how lmk would adapt that character into the story#bc yeah he’s the first guy Wukong defeated after his training under Master Subodhi#i also wonder about the dragon/deer antagonist in the Monkey King (2009) show#bc he was the big bad who played behind the scenes and let the Demon King of Confusion do his dirty work#i just think it would be neat to see#lmk#asks#shadowpeach#lmk sun wukong#lmk six eared macaque#lmk analysis#lmk s5#lmk spoilers#lmk s5 spoilers

Mini Mac # 35 : protective instinct
Monkey King is a protective dad
The moon was rising above the night sky, illuminating the somber surroundings. The pilgrims were sleeping peacefully, blanketed by the sea of stars. Sanzang was curled in his wool blanket like a caterpillar in its cocoon. Bajie was openly snoring, spread on the floor like a starfish. Wujing was sleeping on his back, arms resting on his chest like a dignified mummy. And Ao Lie slept in his horse form, nestled in the soft grass.
Wukong looked down at the lil guy sleeping near him. Macaque was curled around his bud, almost hiding it in his fur. Wukong found it really adorable. He was the only one not sleeping, he couldn't even if he wanted to really. Everytime he closed his eyes, he felt this inexplicable fear rise inside of him. It was like if he didn't watch over the bud, something terrible would happen to it.
It's not like he didn't trust Macaque. Even if the lil guy didn't fight that often, he wasn't weak by any means. Just the other day he kicked a demon ass to the moon and beyond only because they dared to glare the bud. Wukong didn't even have the time to fight the demon, for Macaque had already beaten it to a bloody pulp. It was admittedly the most attractive thing Wukong ever saw.
But even if he knew Macaque could kick asses, he was still worried. It wasn't something he could control. It was like a deep seated instinct which resurfaced despite him.
It's been a while since he slept because of this.
The great sage returned to his weaving. He was making a mini tiger skirt for the baby, or a tiger diaper really, so the infant could match Macaque and him. It was his pastime to make different things for the baby. He already made toys, clothes and he planned to make mini chiffon dolls of the pilgrims. Wukong had never thought he would be so good with needle work, but he found he quite liked it, it was soothing.
Wukong had to admit that since the bud was birthed, he didn't do much courting. It's not like he didn't want to. But he was so focused on making sure that the baby would be correctly welcomed and that Macaque had everything he wanted. Courting took a backseat.
“Wukong ?” The great sage flinched and turned towards Macaque. The lil guy rubbed his eyes and looked up at the golden-furred monkey with inquiry. “You're not asleep?”
“Huh, Noo? Someone needs to keep watch.” Awkwardly chuckled Wukong. Macaque raised a skeptical eyebrow and sighed fondly.
“Wanna, huh, shrink and sleep with me?” Wukong fluffed up at the proposition, he fiddled with his fingers before putting his needlework aside and shrunk down.
The lil Monkey King nervously approached Macaque. The lil guy patted the other side of the bud. Wukong laid down and curled there, circling the bud. The folded flower was warm. Wukong felt his heart thump in excitement.
“Thanks… You know for doing so much.” Mumbled Macaque, Wukong looked at him and was surprised to see a blush dust his cheeks.
“No problem.” Replied Wukong.
Both monkeys laid in silence, encircling the bud with warmth. Wukong loved the smell of the flower. The peach blossom had the sweetest scent. Then suddenly, they both heard a lil thump. They stared at the bud amazed, and felt lil kicks under the soft petals.
Wukong nuzzled against the bud, tears nipping at his eyes.
“They never did that before.” Mumbled Macaque. “Guess they like you.”
They spend the rest of the night whispering to each other, proposing names for the baby.
They fell asleep in the dead of the night, tails weaved together, both nuzzling the bud.
+ cut scenes
Sanzang *after waking up* : awww, they cuddle together 🥰
Bajie : they should get married already 🙄
Wukong *choosing name* : What about Sun Wukong Jr? ☺️
Macaque :..... No 😅

Random thought hour! (I really need to get my friend to catch up to season 4, so I don't have to keep anoying you with my random late-night thoughts/conspiracies xD)
I was making a "mood board" with Wukongs different outfits during the seasons, to get inspiration for my AU re-designs, and there was this one thing thst stood out to me!
So you know how Macaque wears a red scarf-cape-thing? Similar to the one Monkie King wears?
I've seen a view fan interpretations that go the direction of Macaque wearing that scarf to mimic Wukong, or becouse it was originaly Wukongs/a gift from Wukong.
Here is the interesting thing I noticed! (And yes, I'm overthinking this! It's late, I'm tired xD)
Red scarfs, aren't Wukongs thing!
I only really noticed it when putting all his designs next to each other, but every time Wukong wears "casual" clothes, he does not wear a red scarf. He wear a teal/greenish-blue one.
He wears a teal one in the pre-journey flashbacks, as well as during the entire trip to collect the Samadhi Fire rings in season 3. When he didn't wear the teal scarf, he wore a hoody with teal on his sleves. Even the armore he wore to fight LBD, had teal color on it's breast plate mimicing the shape of the neck scarf he wore.
The only time Wukong wears a read scarf, is when he is in his usual "king outfit" (something he started wearing after the journey), and during the end scene of season 3's last special.
But you know who wears red scarfs? And ONLY red scarf? Macaque.
Both in the past and present. Always red. Even under LBD's controle.
Red scarfs are Macaques thing, not Wukongs.
So that made me think: sure, the red of Monkey Kings scarf could just be becouse it's a "royal" color, and red capes are a hero thing, but the more interesting idea to me is:
"maybe he's wearing a red scarf becouse Macaque used to wear red."
He killed him, after all. And he is clearly feeling guilty about that. And it wouldn't be the first time I see an animated show do the symbolic thing of having a character wear a signature piece of clothing/accessory (or an imitation of one) from someone who was important to them and passed away. You know, things like necklacess, rings, jackets...scarfs.
(Do with this random thought process of mine whatever you want xD I just wanted to ramble about it to someone >:3 )
~*~
I am grabbing these thoughts and putting them into a very specific folder next to my WIPs

There was more I wanted to add to this but I didn't have the time today. I'll just post it another day cuz I rlly wanted to at least get this part out so enjoy! This time partly from Sun Wukong's POV!
Dove Masterlist
TW: Gore
Fire
You turn over in bed and let out a heavy sigh. It took longer than you wanted to get away from that crowd, no thanks to that damn ape. You would have thought they'd show more interest in Tripitaka, but seeing as the monks have a hall named after Guan Yin herself, you can still see why they were so persistent in their questions and requests.
Still, using your gift so frequently in such a short amount of time can take a lot out of you. It doesn’t help that having so many people surrounding you like that is something you are unaccustomed to. Or maybe it’s just been a while since you’ve seen so many people all gather like that, it wasn’t a common occurrence in the celestial realm. Sun Wukong didn’t make it any better, flaunting your gift like it was his own.
At least you can finally get some rest and time away from the demon. Having your own room, even just for a night, is just what you’ve been missing. Even if you feel drained, at least you have the time now to keep to yourself for a long while and get some proper rest. Besides, you doubt the monks will be in your face as much tomorrow as they were today. You’ll feel better tomorrow.
~~~~
This night really was proving to be more entertaining than the Monkey King had hoped.
When his Master warned him not to show the old monk his cassock, he thought the man was just being paranoid. Never did he think the old man would be jealous enough to set fire to his own monastery! It’s actually hilarious.
After leading the two men away from the Dove drowning amidst those others that stayed in the monastery, the elder requested to keep the beautiful cassock in his own room for the night so he could properly admire it. Tripitaka was hesitant to agree to such a demand, so Monkey did on his behalf. How was he supposed to know their host had the potential to be an arsonist?
Luckily, Monkey King already has everything taken care of. Not needing sleep like the rest of his party, the Sage was already awake to overhear the elder ordering the other monks to set fire to the wing where their group was shown to their rooms. Monkey was quick to make sure his Master and his steed stayed safe, borrowing a cloak from a celestial friend to protect them from the fire. And with his master sleeping safe and sound, now he can have some… fun.
If these stupid people were so intent on setting everything ablaze, who would he be to stop them? In fact, why not help them?
The Great Sage hovers over the controlled fire, the bustling sound of feet thumping to and fro to feed it making him smirk. Pressing two of his fingers together, the demon begins to recite under his breath softly, his words cutting through the air swiftly before lifting his head to the fire. Taking a great inhale, Wukong blows out a great wind from his lungs, directly towards the fire. It took little time before he heard the screams, and he tries to stifle his laughter before outright bellowing as the flames spread to the rest of the monastery, growing out of control.
He falls back on his cloud, barking with laughter as monks run out of the building with blood curdling screams. Some have to be quickly put out, running with the fire catching their clothes. It’s too good! Did not one of them think this plot could backfire? It’ll certainly be the last time any of them ever try such a stunt with–
Oh, now this is interesting.
One figure runs back in, his companions shouting in protest as he ignores their calls. Does he not see that the monastery was now a lost cause? Is there something he left behind? Why else is he running back in?
Curious as to what could spawn such bravery, Sun Wukong follows the young monk back into the monastery, careful to keep back a few paces so as to not reveal himself. It wasn’t very difficult, the man seems laser-focused on whatever his goal may be.
It’s amusing to the King, the way the monk frantically ducks over collapsing wood and bounds over burning debris all while doing his best to cover his face to stop the smoke from breaching his lungs. Wukong strolls not too far behind, casually spinning his staff here and there as the man rushes around corners and weaves through the burning building. It’s a shame fire can be so harmful to those who aren’t immortal. Then again, it’s always fun to watch things burn.
The monk begins to slow, seemingly arriving at his destination. It only then makes Wukong realise he had been led to where the fire initially started, the wing his group was staying in. He ran like a madman to get here? But why would he… shit.
Sun Wukong forgot about the woman.
Her sleeping quarters aren’t protected by the cloak. The realisation strikes him just as the monk approaches her room. Just before he can open it, Wukong jumps into action, revealing himself as he grabs the man by his shoulder so he could turn the monk to face him. Before he can even make a sound, Sun Wukong lifts him by his shirt and holds him with one hand in the air. The young man yelps in surprise before screaming once he realises who the one holding him is. Seeing his face clearly now, the Sage also recognizes him as the monk who had first approached Dove before swarming her with the others. “Sneaking into the room of a woman this late at night?” Wukong raises an unimpressed brow as the man struggles to pry the demon’s hand off his garbs. “And they call me an animal.”
The man continues to squirm, clearly distressed. “You monster! Don’t you see we are all about to burn?!”
The King laughs. “Oh, I know you will. The woman? I’ve yet to decide.” He takes a moment to look back at the door, weighing his options in his mind.
The man stops in his feeble attempts at freedom for a moment to cast a look of shock on the demon. “Isn’t that your travelling companion?”
“Not by choice.” Seemingly unperturbed by his current predicament, the monk continues to pick at the King’s fingers. Wukong almost feels impressed by his persistence. “She did a kindness today, she doesn’t deserve to burn!”
“Seriously?! Then why do I deser– you know, actually, I don’t care.” Wukong mumbles to himself, glancing back at the room again. Why did he have to follow this stupid monk back to her door? If he managed to forget her, he’d have the wonderful gift of her absence in the morning. But if Master finds out he had the opportunity to help and chose not to, he may just recite that stupid spell until his head cracks open.
With a long and exaggerating sigh, the Sage sets the monk down. “How dare you remind me she was here. Now I have to stop her from burning.” His grumbles barely even reach the man before he kicks down the door to her room.
Stepping in, he takes a moment to take the sight of her sleeping form in again. Smoke fills the air, heat roasting the room with the flames just reaching her door frame, and she’s still asleep? Wukong didn’t expect her to be such a heavy sleeper.
Crouching down, Monkey King grabs her shoulders to shake her awake. “Hey, wake up.” He shakes her a few times only for the woman to slump back, unbothered. It’s like she’s practically dead. Is she? The King slaps her before quickly jumping back in preparation for her shock into consciousness, but it never comes. Huh. He gets back up to his feet to leave, Master can’t be upset if she just died in her sleep.
A loud snore stops his plan just as he goes to exit the room. Dammit. “Uuuuuggggggghhhhhhhh.” Sun Wukong groans, spinning back on his heel to go for the woman. When Guan Yin convinced him to help on this stupid journey, he didn’t plan on babysitting two incompetent humans. With a roll of his eyes, Wukong scoops the girl into his arms before exiting through the window. That other monk can find his own way out.
Now with the woman in his arms, Wukong finds a tree just far enough from the carnage to enjoy it. Letting the Dove down onto the ground, he sits back against the tree to watch in peace as hysteria infects those that still believe they can put out the flames. Their attempts are laughable, the King had missed watching such chaos unfold. During the years before his conflict with the Heavenly Court, there had been many villages he and his army terrorised, and watching fires burn buildings to the ground was always one of the best parts. There’s always such a heavy contrast between the screams of the damned and the melodic rhythm of the flames, dancing in every shade of orange and red.
Wukong supposes that now, the serene feeling in his chest comes from more than just a simple fire. He glances down at the woman lying next to him, her presence, while not as powerful as when she uses the gift, is no less welcome. The Monkey King could feel his heart steady, his mind quiet, and a sigh escape his chest as the feeling of relaxation encompasses him. Were it not for her snide comments and deathly glares– as well as the shackle on his head– Dove might be nice to have around. If she was always this passive, he’d actually enjoy her company. It would be a lie to say Wukong isn’t curious about the bird on this journey with them. Not a question he ever asks her can be given a straight answer. If it wasn’t for her hostile nature, he’d be more inclined to feed his curiosity and speak with her more, but that stupid circlet is already enough of a headache and he’d rather not add to it. He’ll give her points for cunning, it was admirable, if not for the fact that it was at his expense. Nonetheless, it’s nice to be in such a soothing presence without all the usual threats and jabs. Something rustles in some bushes only a few paces away, Monkey King sitting up immediately at the sound. His head snaps to the direction of the sound, his eyes meeting another’s, black and round, with barely any white visible. He looks to the small round ears barely visible in the dark cover of shrubbery and snout of a bear’s before frowning. Before he can investigate, the creature is gone, heavy footsteps lumbering into the forest.
A chase? This night keeps getting better. Sun Wukong jumps up to give chase before nearly falling onto his face, tripping. With a grunt, he lifts his head to look back for the source of his descent, finding the woman’s arms wrapped around his waist. His once excited expression drops, an almost silent growl rippling from his chest. “Even while unconscious, she thwarts my every move!”
Sitting back up, Wukong takes her arms in his hands before the girl tightens her hold, a small grunt escaping her form as she does. The King blinks, frowning for a moment at her twisted expression before looking back in the direction the creature had run. There was no sign of it anymore. With a heavy sigh, Wukong shifts to lay against the tree once more and continues watching the flames. It was probably just an animal running from the fire. After one last glance at the woman now holding him in a death grip, he turns his attention back to the burning building, occasionally looking over to the wing where his Master sleeps to make sure the area covered in that old cloak remains untouched by the fire.
~~~~
Yelling echoes through your ears. Children cry loudly, using the backs of their throats to let out blood curdling screams. Fire erupts from every house and shop, surrounding the village as a mass of bloody flames jump from building to building.
You trip, looking down only for your eyes to widen, the lifeless eyes of the little girl who lived in the house next to yours staring back, red coating her neck and pooling under her head. The sight nearly causes you to freeze in fear if not for the barely audible sound of metal colliding. The sound is a warning, and it's enough to get you to your feet.
The Eyes, they followed you. Golden and dull. They followed you home and they brought the demons with them. A rhythmic clink of metal makes your heart stop, each clash feels as though it shakes the ground, turning it from solid earth to sand. Turning, you see a shadowy figure, the Golden Eyes glowing as they approach.
As fast as humanly possible, you run, stumbling as you do. The clinking of metal follows, echoing through your ear drums, growing louder and louder. You clutch your ears and fall to your knees. It only grows louder. Eyes shut tight, you curl into the ground, tears staining your face as you weep. The Glowing Eyes sear into your mind as you beg it to stop.
Hands grab at your arms, not claws or talons, but hands. You just barely get back to your feet in time to be dragged along to find a way to safety. Another child, a boy, takes your hand. "Come on, we have to go!" At his words, you cry out, failing miserably to pry yourself away from his hands in a desperate attempt to get away. You’ve seen this part before, you can never unsee this part.
The boy pulls you along, looking around for anyone that could help. Someone who could—
"Jie!" You shout, your throat shreds as though the claws of the demon impaling the boy with his weapon tore into your neck instead. You stumble onto your back as a blade pierces through the boy. His eyes are pleading, his scream deafening as the blade quickly retracts, allowing blood to flow from the wound. You call out only to find your voice now gone, barely a strangled gasp. A hand grabs your arm, pulling you to your feet.
"Stop! Let go!" "Aagh! Son of a—"
Your eyes snap open to find the bright morning sun bringing about a new day. The smell of ash and cinders hang in the air heavily, as though traces of a distant memory linger in your waking life. It takes your eyes a moment to adjust to the outdoor lighting before you frown. Outside? But you went to your room before going to bed. When did you get outside?
“I pity your pillow.” A groan from under you makes your eyes bulge wide, the figure of the all too familiar Monkey King underneath you and rubbing his jaw and– why are you holding him in your arms?!
You shout, jumping back and up onto your feet as he remains nursing his jaw on the ground. “What are you… why– when did–” Your face flushes from embarrassment before your gaze lands on where the monastery was only a night ago. “What happened?!”
“Attacks me in her sleep and doesn’t even ask if I’m okay.” The demon grumbles, rising to his feet.
You feel your gaze harden. “What were you even doing? Why was I on top of you?!”
Monkey King stretches, walking past you and towards the remains of the monastery. “I was busy saving everyone last night. But don’t worry, I can just let you burn next time.”
This despicable little– wait. “Where’s Tripitaka?!”
“AAAAAAAAAAHHH–!”
“Sounds like he’s over there.” Oh, if only you had Guan Yin’s patience.

----
Macaque had long since lost his patience for dealing with Peng but he'd managed to restrain himself to being polite if not curt when forced to interact with them.
Honestly, he wasn't happy that Wukong had so warmly welcomed any of this so-called Brotherhood into their home. They could describe themselves as good and righteous all they liked - Macaque could recognise them for what they were.
He'd grown up on the mainland during the Warring States Period and even after centuries had passed he knew a demon warlord when he saw one. Their aspirations might sound noble but at the end of the day what they sought was power and control and he was sure they would do whatever they saw fit to acquire it.
He'd rather have avoided all of them but someone had to at least try and keep Wukong from getting into trouble. It was taking its toll on him however especially given Wukong's increasing inclination to listen to them over him.
Too easily swayed by his ego being stroked.
Macaque could privately admit that amongst Wukong's new "brothers" only one of them truly grated on him at a personal level. The rest could be tolerated - charming and clever as they were.
Peng however had decided practically upon first sight that Macaque was theirs to pursue.
If ever the two were in the same room, you could bet that Peng would be as close to Macaque as they could reasonably get away with - whether it be sat beside him at feasts or standing ever too close for comfort as they observed the others while they were training.
They sought him out - claiming that they simply must train together or that he must come and referee his fights. Macaque was under no illusion that this wasn't just so Peng could show off.
Macaque did his best to discourage these advances while trying to abide by all of Beng's teachings on court politics and etiquette. Just because Wukong could get away with flagrant displays of disrespect didn't mean that the rest of his clan could.
As much as he wished it wasn't the case, they were now fully embroiled in the mainland's complex game of politics and social standing. And if they wanted to avoid war and secure powerful allies they needed to play by the rules.
However, it was clear that this situation with Peng was going to come to a head. Their compliments were becoming increasingly overt, as were attempts to causally touch him and, of course, then there were the gifts.
At first they could have been passed as attempts to strengthen relations, decorative pieces such as wall hangings or weapons for display. However, they'd quickly become clothing and jewelry tailored to him and insultingly they were always in Peng's colours.
Ma and Wukong had laughed themselves silly the first time he'd opened a gift to find a decorative head piece better suited to an emperor's concubines than a hardened warrior. They still occasionally teased him about it.
But today, there had been a focused air about Peng as they had all dined together, they had scarcely taken their eyes of him and Macaque didn't care what stupid thing Wukong got up to, he left the room as soon as was conceivably proper to do so.
He wasn't surprised however to hear Peng make excuses shortly after so they could follow. He paused outside an empty room and waited for Peng to catch sight of him before ducking in.
He'd always done his utmost not to be left alone with Peng but he'd had enough - this was coming to an end one way or another.
Peng wasted no time showing their smug face, "Ah, Macaque, my darling, I was hoping that I might catch you alone for a moment."
He nodded curtly, "Peng. What do you want?"
Peng smiled and made their way closer to him, "I think I've made my intentions clear and as much as I've enjoyed the chase. I don't think we need to deny ourselves any longer."
As casually as he could Macaque tried to keep a distance between them, moving to lean against the far away wall, "I've not been playing games with you, Peng. This "chase" has been entirely in your head."
Peng seemed amused, "Really? Even now you want to play hard to get?"
They moved with confidence as they spoke, "You and I are of a rare breed, powerful and beautiful, separately we stand well above the rest of our ilk but together we would be the envy of all. Gods and demons alike brought to their knees by our shining glory."
Macaque sneered internally. They truly were no better than the demon warlords that had once ravaged China. Thinking they were entitled to whatever they desired as long as they had the means to take it. He'd seen the unspeakable things that had been done by warlords to acquire rarities to add to their collections.
As a rare demon type, with rare powers, and talent and intellect to boot, the years before coming to Flower Fruit Mountain had been dedicated to avoiding capture. He unfortunately knew from experience that to be owned by a warlord was to live a life of suffering.
He would not be a prisoner to one again.
He was especially not going to willingly become some prize to be flaunted by such a shallow fool.
His mind started to put together a fitting response to such arrogance and he let himself relax against the wall, trying to keep his body language open and inviting as he smiled, "I never thought you would be one to share the spotlight."
The fool made their way over, a hand placed on the wall beside his head, the other coming to gently tilt his head up to them, "I'll admit, before laying eyes upon you, I had never even entertained the thought."
He did his level best to keep his disgust buried deep and brought a hand to rest on Peng's chest curling loosely into their shirt and looked up at them somewhat bashfully, "You don't believe this to be unwise...?"
He slipped one foot into the shadows behind him as Peng's face drew closer, "What about this could be unwise? We are already united by our cause. The only unwise thing would be to deny ourselves."
He carefully let tendrils of shadow crawl up Peng's back as he readied himself. The moment that they closed their eyes, he pulled with all his might as he sank into the shadows behind him.
The crunch of Peng's beak as it was crushed against stone and their cry of pain was music to his ears.
He couldn't stop the mocking laughter that left him as he grinned from the shadows, "Aw, that looked like it hurt."
He laughed again as Peng took a step back holding their beak as their eyes watered, "I believe I've made myself clear but as you seem to struggle to see the obvious through your staggering arrogance let me put it simply for you."
He popped his head out of the shadow, "I'm not interested. Any further attempts to court me will not be tolerated. Understand?"
He quickly ducked back into the shadows as a fist buried itself in the stone wall. He didn't hang around to hear the flurry of insults that they hurled his way.
----
Wukong was in an uproar of laughter as he finished explaining what had happened. And Macaque grinned at the joy he'd brought to him.
Wukong wiped away a tear from his eye, "The look on their face must have been priceless!"
Beng however was significantly less impressed, "Wukong this is not a laughing matter!"
Wukong waved him off, "Just because you're not a fan of PDA doesn't mean it's not hilarious."
Beng spluttered in disbelief, "That is irrelevant! Peng disrespected a member of your court! That means they disrespected you! You cannot just ignore this!"
Macaque internally was a little relieved, he'd been sure Beng was going to land him with the blame rather than Peng. But he supposed, going by what he understood of the type of demon clans they were trying to emulate, courtships of high ranking members had rules and Peng hadn't followed them as far as he knew.
He scrunched up his nose at the thought of Wukong of all people giving anyone permission to court him. He didn't care how many times immortal he was, he'd make him suffer if he ever even dared to think of marrying him off.
Wukong however was unconcerned, "Macaque already dealt with it. Me intervening would only undermine his, frankly amazing, handling of the situation."
While not necessarily true, Macaque couldn't help but preen slightly at the praise.
Beng however wasn't convinced, "This could very well damage relations. I think-"
Wukong cut him off, "The only thing damaged is Peng's ego and honestly they could do with being taken down a peg."
Macaque snorted, "You're one to talk."
Wukong, with a look of utmost offense, grabbed at Macaque and put him in a headlock, "What was that? I don't think I heard you right over my perfectly sized ego and humility!" Macaque struggled against him but a sharp jab into his ribs gave him enough leeway to escape.
He was saved from retribution by Beng coming between them, "Macaque, surely you must appreciate the severity of the situation."
He did his best to appease him, "I understand your concern but Wukong is right. Peng is likely going to be so embarrassed about the whole thing that they won't even want anyone else to know about it. Nothing will come of this."
Sighing in defeat, Beng still voiced one last concern, "Even if this does not impact the wider clan, it could still impact you. What if they do not accept this with grace? What if they seek retribution?"
Wukong threw an arm over Macaque's shoulder and scoffed, "Please, like Macaque can't handle Peng. Besides, no way Peng will do anything that will mess with the Brotherhood. They can be dramatic but they're not going to do anything that damages their standing with the boys."
Macaque rolled his eyes, "The boys? Really? Why do you have to ruin perfectly sound arguments like that?"
He ducked before Wukong could trap him in another headlock and dodged further attempts to grab him until it became an all out chase. Their laughter rang out as Beng just shook his head in dismay.
But honestly, what could Peng do?
Macaque was the right hand man to the most powerful member of the Brotherhood. All they could really do was be petty and Macaque was more than willing to be petty in return.

Do you have a favorite quote from Constellations Within Us?
I have SO MANY!!! it's so hard to choose, so I'm just gonna post them and then...yeah! I love all of these, though.
"Bend the wind, MK," Wukong tells him, smiling so wide his fangs show. "Make it stronger, make it faster!"
"Tell me, Great Sage," Macaque whispers, eyes a swirling violet, burning vitriol under a veil of control, "how does it feel to stare death in the face?"
Macaque stared at him fondly, eyes shining with the love of the moon and stars. “Even there,” he replied, kissing the tip of Wukong’s nose. “In the brightest, most resplendent light, and in the dreariest, most forsaken depths, I’ll come for you.”
“I don't want to hear your bullshit excuses,” Macaque spits out. He looks at Wukong with a renewed determination to hate him deeply and completely. “Everything out of your mouth is a lie. Every promise, every vow… You've done nothing but lie to me, Sun Wukong.”
"Is that what's happening?" MK asks carefully. "Or are you guys, like, saying things to each other you should've said ages ago?"
"Sometimes, I caught myself thinking…I could conquer death if Macaque was by my side," Wukong whispers, hating how his voice shakes. His greatest fear…able to be withstood just because of the person he entrusted his heart to. "I wouldn’t be afraid if he was with me. And when I got close to death, when I truly thought I…"
This one is in my top 5
Macaque rolls his eyes. "Yeah, sure. You nearly flattened this entire forest due to your anger and repressed trauma, but I'm sure another minute will do you wonders."
MK looks up at him and sucks in a quick breath. His smile is a trembling lie. “Am I, though?”
"MK, don’t... Don’t do this, please." Wukong can't take another blow. No more crumbled bridges, no more turned backs. No more outstretched hands that just remain suspended in air. He needs to be given a chance, an opportunity. "I need—I need you to listen. Macaque has never listened to me; I need you to."
"I called out for you…" Wukong chokes out, staring up at Macaque as gold cascades from deadly pools. "I called out for you, and you never came, Liu’er!”
“I was a fool to trust you back then,” Macaque begins, those light fingertips wrapping around Wukong’s wrist. His eyes harden as he forcibly moves Wukong’s hand away. “... And I'd be a fool to trust you now.”
MK grins at Wukong with nothing but elation. “I’m okay! But when I was up there, it felt like—” MK laughs breathlessly and looks up at Wukong with an utterly amazed expression. “It felt like the wind was saying…that it would keep me safe.”
Something snaps in the back of his mind. “I know that!” Wukong shouts, hands fisted at his sides, hot tears cascading down his cheeks. He looks up at Macaque in fury. “You don’t have to say it or remind me. I KNOW!”
But if I had to pick one, it'd be:
“Look to the stars, Sun Wukong,” the Jade Emperor tells him as falling light streaks against the great expanse. “Uncountable and brilliant, they serve to guide us, to accompany us, to remind us. In this way, they connect each being to one another regardless of realm and power.”
The Jade Emperor's speech is one of the first parts I wrote of Constellations, so it's very important to me. Thanks for the question! And these are just a small sampling. I have SO MANY MORE

Behind The Mask (MK Dad AU)
This post was posted after a brief but important conversation I had a while ago with @melancholialapelada7, the other co-creator of MK Dad AU, about why the seals are placed on children and the MK monkey form. I am going to explain some things as I have come to understand them.
With that understood, here goes:
Going back to some things I said in this previous post about the seals MK put on children, I forgot the small detail that not all children were planned, so there was no way MK prepared for it in advance.
So let's say he put them on after birth as a preventative measure.
Although…
After thinking about MK wanting to seal what could affect his children's lives, I remembered a very important seal placed on him.
Warning: I will make a small spoiler of season 4 if someone has not seen it yet.
Returning to a small scene in season 1 of chapter 1 where the Monkey King puts a seal on MK to limit his powers and thus be able to control them better, I thought... What if that seal were relevant again when MK discovers his monkey form?
In season 4...
During his fight against the Ink Demon, there is like a decisive blow that he makes against MK before he has his imbalance between his human form and his monkey form. Right there, I felt that it was the precise moment where the seal was broken, and although originally I thought that it could have been the seal that was given to it during its creation—that flashback will haunt me until I have an answer—I thought about the other possibility that it was the one that Wukong put on MK.
Now...
The MK Dad AU takes place after the events of Special 3, with the variable that the Monkey King disappears, and therefore the events of Season 4 would not unfold as in the series... so MK would have no way of knowing about his monkey form.
So I actually made MK achieve that transformation after years of solo training.
As I must remind you, 17 years passed after the victory against Lady Bone Demon and the mysterious disappearance of the Monkey King. So MK would have continued with his training despite the circumstances, which would have led to him breaking Sun Wukong's seal on his own by reaching a level where he already perfectly masters almost all of his powers.
Therefore, the seal that was originally placed as a limiter would be canceled naturally.
It's just… MK isn't entirely sure about using his monkey form.
Although his reasons for that insecurity are different from those raised by season 4, there is something that I did leave and that is that MK feels that this form is not just one more transformation.
He can only feel it.
The power. The force. The horrible need to cause… chaos.
So MK decides to meditate, on Nezha's advice, in the brief hope of keeping the seal under control. Taking care that it doesn't break.
But this one will eventually, and MK knows it.
And he's not ready.
He doesn't want to be ready.
This aspect of his life no longer affects only MK, who decided almost indiscriminately to have children of his flesh and blood. So now he's scared that whatever he has, he's passed it on to the children.
Let this form that he doesn't fully understand change him, take everything he is, and become something he can no longer control.
Something unstoppable.
So he tries to lock it all away until he can't handle it alone anymore.
And it would be from there that Wukong would resume relevance in the AU.
Yay!
Although the details about how I would get to that situation are not clear to me yet, I will only say that from this small conflict, the relationship between MK and Wukong, whose teacher-student relationship was ruined, begins to be solved, or at least advances to its possible solution.
I actually have some little plots that I want to tell with that monkey form, the seals, and how this affects children.
But I still don't feel like writing a full-fledged fanfic at the moment, and I draw slower than I write. Haha…
So that...
That's all for now, bye! (ouo)/

LMK AU ~ TJTTW Part 2
Wow okay, so some of you actually like my au idea so here I think I'll go over how exactly Macaque becomes the Monkey Queen, immortal, and a different punishment instead of everyone getting a mountain thrown on them. Comment, leave some questions or suggestions <3
First things first Macaque is just as immortal as Wukong, it's why during his fight with Wukong he doesn't die. Macaque ate the peach, drunk the wine, and took the pill. He fought heaven and they tired the same punishments to kill him, no luck but someone did get their hand bit and spent the rest of the day wondering if they got magical money rabies. The smirk Mac had didn't help. Wukong didn't get trapped under a mountain for 500 years, no Buddha decided to use a different punishment for the to monkeys that seem to be attached at the hip. "The hero and warrior were like the Sun and Moon." Buddha trapped Wukong in the Sun and Macaque in the Moon. Wukong could only walk the Earth in the day while Macaque could only walk in the night this kept the two separated for 500 years untill Wukong would leave for the Journey of the West. Side note getting trapped in the Sun and Moon had a few unforseen consequences, such as our monkeys gaining powers usually connect to the Sun and Moon. Powers such as the ability to control fire and water along with healing abilities, they can now control Sun and Moon when either one loses control of his emotions. Yes this is why Buddha will not fight them again. He didn't realize the punishment would somehow make two already overpowered monkeys even more OP and is afraid that fighting them again would tear the universe to shreds. No he will never let the monkeys know this mainly because his think Wukong would tear the universe apart for fun and Mac keeps no secrets from his mate. Buddha doesn't know how to tell the Jade Emperor that if the monkeys go crazy again then there is nothing anyone can do to stop them. He is 68% sure the Jade Emperor already know tho.
So that how we get two OP immortal monkeys but how does Macaque become Monkey Queen because currently his is still know as the King's Warrior. Well when Wukong leaves for the TJTTW Macaque for the first time ever doesn't go with him and stays to guard Flower Fruit Mountain and to care for the monkeys. Well a troublesome Baboon King hears about a beautiful mountain with rich fruit and water and many other resources. He hears how the king of this mountain had left for long journey leaving his beautiful mate and their hoard of monkeys without a leader. The Baboon King gathers his army and heads straight for Flower Fruit Mountain when they arrive he sent and small group of baboons to attack any near by monkeys. This quickly gains Macaque's attention and he confronts the Baboon King who tells Macaque to surrender and be his mate or the baboons will enslave the monkey army and kill the cubs. Macaque is given one day to make his choice and being the warrior his is chooses to fight for the only home and family he's ever known. This leads to years and years of a bloody and vicious war but also this is when Macaque makes an alliance with the Spider Queen and the Scorpion Queen trading food and gems for venom, weds, and a few illusion spells. Meanwhile the Baboon King was growing crazier by the day, especially when his general and number one supporter died is battle. A battle that took a heavy hit on the baboons, many missed home and were growing desperate and defeated. The new general just want this war to end and was ready to surrender. This general and many of the other baboons were losing respect in their tyrannical King. Finally the war came to an end when Macaque lead a small group immoral monkeys to ambush the baboons camp leaving them open to a large attack from the rest of the monkey army and hopefully driving the baboons off Flower Fruit Mountain for good. The attack went as planned until the final battle between Macaque and the Baboon King, the Baboon King was losing and noticed his general had managed to sneak up behind Macaque and yelled for the general to strike Macaque but as Macaque turn to defend against an attack the Baboon General dropped his weapons and raised his hands is surrender begging Macaque to let the remaining baboons leave the mountain. This gained the attention of every monkey and baboon as they paused to see what was happening between the leaders. The Baboon General's surrender angered the King and in a manic cry threatened to kill the general and any baboons that didn't fight. With that the baboons turned on their King dropping their weapons and bowing before Macaque, the general knelt down and loudly proclaimed Macaque as the Monkey Queen followed by the monkeys bowing with the baboons and everyone chanting for their new Monkey Queen as he read out the former Baboon King's crimes and landed the killing blow. From here the baboons and monkeys joined forces and lead by their new Queen built a strong kingdom on top of Flower Fruit Mountain.
One last bit before I end of this post with some songs. After the war and rebuilding a kingdom Macaque misses Wukong and is worried about his mate. He had been gone for so long and they hadn't heard anything. The monkeys were both hurt and angry, they loved their Monkey King but felt betrayed that he was always leaving the mountain and causing trouble. It didn't help that during the long war Wukong had not been seen or heard from at all. When Macaque announces that is leaving to find Wukong his monkey generals try to convince him to stay and opened up about how they should forget about the Monkey King for betraying them. Macaque sees through the anger and finds their pain in being left behind and their fear that if Macaque leaves then he will never return. Macaque reminds everyone that Flower Fruit Mountain is his home and as long as he is Queen Wukong is King and that he will bring Wukong back for good. Everyone respects their Queen and knows to trust his words. Macaque leaves unaware of the mess Wukong has gotten himself into and the Journey East he will soon face.
WOW MY GOD THIS WAS A LOT! And I have so much more! How Wukong and Macaque met, the actual journey to the east, does MK or Bai He play any roll, Mayor is still a fucking gremlin, Macaque and Tripitaka become friends and respect eachother!?!?!??!??! But as promised some songs that go along with the AU one in way or another.
youtube
This just matches with the punishment between Wukong and Macaque and how the only time then could see eachother was when the Sun and Moon shared the same sky.
youtube
Remember the small ambush on the baboon camp well Macaque gives a similar speech to his troop like Odysseus. But I guess the last bit of the song could be considered foreshadowing. For what? That is for another post, but incase anyone wants to know what Macaque fights for its for his King and their home.
youtube
For this one its mainly at the end of the song, 3:06 onward, were Odysseus confronts the cyclops. Yes Macaque gives Baboon King the same speech before kill the lunatic.

Forever Yours Chapter 12
LMK Wukong x Bao Li
First Previous
Many months passed and the couple couldn’t have been happier.
They spent their days training, ruling, and relaxing.
Bao Li’s powers grew stronger with each passing day.
However, thanks to Wukong’s guidance, Bao Li was able to control her powers and use them as a gift rather than a curse.
Her pink crystals brought joy to the citizens of Flower Fruit Mountain!
From flashy jewelry to exciting magic tricks, Bao Li’s crystals were the talk of the mountain!
Unfortunately word spread far too quickly.
It wasn’t long before tales of Bao Li and her crystals reached the ears of The Jade Emperor.
“Another powerful primate?! This cannot stand! Execute her at once!” Demanded the Jade Emperor.
“But your majesty, Bao Li is the bride of Sun Wukong. Executing her would no doubt invoke his wrath!” Explained The Spirit of Venus.
“You make a good point. But we cannot let another powerful primate cause anymore chaos! Sun Wukong’s antics were more than enough! Something must be done about his bride before things get out of hand!” The Jade Emperor grumbled
The Spirit of Venus let out a hum for a moment.
Suddenly his face lit up.
“Your majesty, I believe I have a solution! Perhaps if we offered both Sun Wukong and his bride a place in Heaven, we can keep an eye on them and prevent any further chaos.”
“Fool! We’ve already tried that and Sun Wukong spat in our faces!” The Jade Emperor snarled .
“That was because he felt insulted by the title of bimawen. But perhaps if we give both he and his bride a higher rank, then he would be more likely to cooperate.” The Spirit of Venus explained.
“A higher title?! You wish to reward him for his crimes?! Have you gone mad?!” The Jade Emperor roared as he slammed his fist into the arm of his throne.
“I wish not to reward him but to merely placate him. If Sun Wukong is under the impression that he is respected, then perhaps it would quell his anger long enough for us to get his bride under control.” The Spirit of Venus mused casually as he held up a finger, “then we may properly punish him.”
The Jade Emperor let out a low growl and stroked his beard.
While he didn’t want to entertain anymore of Wukong’s antics, he didn’t even want to think about the kind of destruction Bao Li could cause if left unchecked.
“Very well. Inform Sun Wukong and his bride of their new ranks and bring them here!”
“Right away, your majesty.”
And with that, The Spirit of Venus zipped down to Earth to tell Wukong the good news.
Meanwhile, Wukong and Bao Li were reading together in their hammock.
Wukong laid his head in Bao Li’s lap as she read her favorite book to him.
“But why? Asked The princess. Why did you have to do all of this?!-” -Bao Li cleared her throat spoke in a deeper voice- “-I did all of this for us! They never respected us. So now that they’re finally gone, we are going to rule the kingdom together, my love!”
“Geez, that prince sure is a drama Queen.” Wukong chuckled, “I mean who would be crazy enough to take over an entire kingdom out of spite?”
“Well he felt that he and his princess had been wronged. He simply did what he thought was best. Not that it makes it right of course.” Bao Li explained as she stroked Wukong’s head.
“I guess so but like, overthrowing the king and taking over the kingdom? That’s just nuts!” Wukong mused as he nuzzled into her touch.
“True. The prince isn’t exactly the most rational person is he?” Bao Li giggled.
“You can say that again! Honestly, if I were the prince I would’ve just gone home with the princess. Forget all that crazy stuff!” Wukong chuckled as he flicked his wrist.
“And that’s why he’s a prince and you’re a king.” Bao Li purred as she kissed the top of his head.
Wukong’s face glowed pink as he let out a dopey giggle.
“You’re so cute, you know that?” Bao Li giggled as she patted his head.
“And handsome! Don’t forget handsome!” Wukong added as he lifted a finger.
“Of course, how could I forget handsome?” Bao Li teased as she gave him another kiss.
In that moment, Wukong sprung up and crashed his lips onto Bao Li’s.
Bao Li let out a startled squeak and dropped her book before kissing back.
The lovely scene was interrupted by the sound of a throat being cleared.
Bao Li jumped a bit and quickly ended the kiss.
Wukong let out an annoyed grunt and whipped around to find The Spirit of Venus staring expectantly at he and Bao Li.
“Do you mind? We were kinda in the middle of something!”
“Wukong! Don’t be rude! That’s The Spirit of Venus! My sincerest apologies, oh great spirit we-”
“Hey! Hey! No need to get all formal. I’ve met this guy! Trust me, he’s not all that.” Wukong scoffed smugly.
“Well that was uncalled for-”
“Wait, you know The Spirit of Venus?!”
“Yup! I’ve also been to heaven too! It wasn’t that great to be honest. They made me clean out pony stalls!” Wukong chuckled casually.
Bao Li stared in shock as he jaw nearly hit the ground.
“You’ve been to heaven too?! Why am I just now learning about this?!”
“Well you never asked.”
“I know but how was I supposed to know to ask about such a thing?!” Bao Li yelped as she put her hands on her hips.
“Hey well-”
“I apologize for interrupting but I have an important message for the both of you.” The Spirit of Venus interjected flatly.
“O-oh yes! Of course! My apologies!” Bao Li spluttered as she bowed her head.
“The Jade Emperor had realized the error of his ways. He sees now that you are worth far more than a mere bimawen. Thus The Jade Emperor is offering both you and your bride a much more suited rank!” The Spirit of Venus explained dramatically.
Bao Li’s eyes lit up.
“The Jade Emperor wants us to stay in heaven with him?! Oh my goodness! I must be dreaming-”
“Pfft! Hard pass! I’m not gonna make my bride clean up after you guys too!” Wukong grumbled as he stuck out his tongue.
“Worry not, Great Sage for both you and your bride will be treated with the respect you both deserve this time.” The Spirit of Venus continued.
“Like I said-”
“Oh Wukong, can we please go?! Pretty please?! I’ve always wanted to see heaven!” Bao Li pleaded with a twinkle in her eye.
Wukong was about to protest when he noticed Bao Li’s face.
From the twinkle in her eyes to her starstruck expression, it was evident she couldn’t be more excited.
Despite his opinion on heaven, Wukong couldn’t bring himself to disappoint his beloved bride.
“Fine. But we better get the VIP treatment this time! No chores!” Wukong huffed as he folded his arms.
“But of course, only the best for The Great Sage and his bride.” The Spirit of Venus chuckled.
Bao Li let out an excited squeal and threw her arms around Wukong.
“Oh thank you! Thank you!”
Wukong’s face glowed pink as he returned the hug.

My Roommate is The Monkey King! Chapter One
(This is the first chapter of my latest story. I hope you all enjoy it! Also, I hope that I portrayed Sun Wukong as accurately as possible. Feel free to leave feedback and comments!)
I really hate my job. I’m sure everyone has said or thought that same sentence before. However, I really mean it. Retail work is never easy, especially with a customer that is upset about his new credit card not giving him his promised 20% off. I sighed softly as I look at the man. “Sir, normally you would’ve only saved about $200 with your bulk savings. But since you used the card, you saved an additional $121.96.”
“No, no. You said I would save big. I should be saving over $400! Are you calling me stupid?!” Clearly, he wasn’t being very cooperative. Sure, I probably could’ve explained the card better to him, but he’s now being unfair. I could feel my blood beginning to boil.
‘I need to calm down… If I blow up on this guy, I’m gonna lose my job.’ I took a breath to calm down and tried again. “I understand, sir, However our cards have a certain limit to–”
He shoved his finger at my face. “Ah, so you messed up! You didn’t tell me that! If you had told me that, I wouldn’t have gotten that bullshit card!” My blood was really boiling now. I could feel my hands clenching tightly as I try to keep my temper under control. He kept rambling on but I tuned him out. I understood that this was a frustrating task for all of us, but he didn’t have to be a total jerk about it. I’m just trying to do my job and he’s throwing a temper tantrum about not saving $100 more. I just wanted to kick his carts of doors and painted planks over and make him pick it all up by himself. I wanted to beat him into the ground… But I’m a pushover and just let him rant. After all, “the customer is always right”... Bullshit.
After that fiasco, I began to get ready to clock out for the night. I was absolutely done with dealing with that guy and wanted to just go home and probably scream into my empty apartment. As I was grabbing my car keys, I heard the break room TV playing the news channel and I looked over at the screen. The newscaster talked about a strange weather pattern that was heading towards the city of Fairbanks and I tilted my head. Strange weather isn’t exactly new to us Alaskans. We get scorching heat in the summer months, 24/7 sunlight as well. In the winter, the weather makes it feel like we are living in Siberia, Russia and 2:00pm would look like 10 at night. Like I said, we’re used to it. However, the weather pattern on the screen told a different story. “Weird… I had no idea that Alaska would get a hurricane.” I whispered to myself.
“That’s not a hurricane, James.” A coworker told me, boredly scrolling through his phone. “If you ask me, that’s more like a storm cloud…”
I raised an eyebrow as I looked at him. ‘How did he hear me?’ “How is that a storm cloud?” I then shake my head, already feeling exhaustion taking hold of me. “Forget it… I am too tired to argue.”
“Was it that bad?”
“Worse… Some Russian guy was arguing with me about his new credit card…”
He chuckled at that. “Yeah… We humans are a greedy bunch.” He then got up and stretched. “Man, I’m beat… I’m gonna head to McDonald’s before I head home. Good thing they don’t close until midnight… You wanna come with?”
The offer was very tempting and my stomach agreed. “As much as I wanna say ‘yes’, I can’t. I gotta get home and do some stuff. Maybe next time, Mac.”
Mac nodded with a shrug. “Your loss, but I get it. Take care, James…” He then walked away, his long black hair trailing behind him. I chuckled softly before following suit, clocking out and heading to my car. As I walked to my car, I put on my noise-cancelling headphones, turned them on, connected them to my phone, and began to listen to AI covers of popular songs. I had to admit that some of them were really good. Who knew that Sonic could sing “Billie Jean” so well? I got into my car, started it, buckled up, then began the drive home. My stomach growled at me and I sighed softly. ‘Damn it, Mac. You made me hungry…’ I pull into the nearest fast food restaurant, which happened to be McDonald’s, and ordered some food. The smell of the golden arches’ famous fries filled the car and I could feel my stomach growling more. I reached over to grab some fries from the bag, but stopped. “...I can wait until I get home.” I hated waiting to eat, but I also didn’t want to get into a car accident for a handful of fries.
Suddenly, I hear thunder and I look at the road ahead of me. “Looks like Mac was right, as always… I swear, he just knows everything.” I continue to drive, noting the color of the occasional lightning. I was confused as to why they were yellow-orange instead of the usual color. I am snapped out of my thoughts by my phone ringing and I knew it was my twin sister. I answer her call. “Hey, sis. I clocked out already and I’m heading home.”
“Okay, but just be safe. The storm looks like it’s getting worse and I worry about you.” She told me. I loved how caring she was and it made me feel a tad better. “Also, I have some leftover baked goods from the cafe. We had to get rid of them before they got stale, so I took a few.”
I smiled at that and chuckled. “Thanks, Melody… You’re the best.” I look out my window and saw a lightning bolt hit near the car. The sudden lightning startled me and caused me to swerve off the road, crashing through a metal fence and into a clearing. The car made sputtering sounds before it turned itself off. I tried to restart it, but the car was officially dead. My heart was beating rapidly from the lightning jumpscare and I took deep breaths to try and relax. “H-holy crap… I almost got struck by lightning!”
Melody was still on the call. “Oh my God, are you okay?!”
I nodded as I relaxed finally. “Yeah… Yeah, I’m good. The car is dead, though…”
“Where are you at? I’ll head over as soon as I can.”
I looked around to see anything noticeable. “I’m near Celebration Ranch, about five or ten minutes away from the house.”
Melody sighed through the phone. “I know where that is. Stay there and I’ll come get you.” She then hung up and I pocketed my phone. I sat on the hood of the car and huffed softly, a bit miffed that I got into an accident. The only plus side to my situation currently was that I was still alive. As I waited for Melody, the thunder grew louder and closer. I looked at the sky and saw that the storm was right above me. My eyes widened and I went to get into the car, but a massive lightning bolt struck the car and I was blown back, electricity coursing through my body. I hit the grass-covered ground and my vision went black for a second. It’s one thing to hear about people getting struck by lightning… but it’s another thing to actually get struck by lightning. My vision was blurry, I couldn’t hear anything but the sound of my ears ringing, it was hard to breathe all of a sudden, and my body felt like I got hit with a flamethrower. I soon regained my sight and hearing and slowly stood up, coughing and wheezing as my breathing was still jacked up. I look over at the car and all that was left of it was a massive crater.
‘So much for calling a tow truck…’ I went to check to see if my phone was alright, when I noticed… light. It was coming from the crater. I walked towards the edge of the crater, holding my burnt side with whatever was left of my tattered shirt. When I looked over the edge, I saw… some kind of monkey man. He wore some weird armor and had a quarterstaff in his hand. I slid down towards the man and went to nudge him with my foot. “Hello? Can you hear me?” No response… I went to pick up his staff only to realize that it somehow weighed a lot more than I thought. I couldn’t even lift it! “Jesus!! What kind of staff is this?!” I looked back at the man and frowned. ‘...What do I do now? I can’t just leave him here… Wait, yes I can! I don’t know him, so why should I even bother?’ I went to leave… but I stopped and looked back at him. I groaned in annoyance. “Curse my altruism…” I walked back to him, knelt at his side and pressed my hands over his chest before starting to perform CPR. “C’mon… C’mon, wake up!” I went to breathe air into his mouth but saw his eyes pop open and we both scrambled back with a yell.
He stood up and pointed the staff at me. “Hey!! What were you trying to do to me?!”
I was surprised at how easily he wielded the staff, but I ignored it for now. “Me?! What were you doing a crater?! I had to resusitate you because I thought you were dead!!”
To my surprise, he only laughed at that. “Me? Dead? You are too funny, human! I can’t die because I am immortal!” He then planted the staff into the ground, jumped onto the top of it, then began to examine his surroundings. “Hmm… This isn’t Fruit Flower Mountain, nor is it Heaven…” He scratched his head in true monkey fashion before pointing at me. “You! What realm is this?!”
I blinked in surprise. “Realm? Wait, wait, wait… Did you say ‘Heaven’?! You’re not an angel nor are you Jesus!”
The man raised an eyebrow at me. “What? Do you have any idea who I am? I mean, really think about it…” He then jumped down and gave me a smirk. “I’m sure it’ll click…”
I began to think, forgetting about my pain from the lightning. “...A cosplayer?”
The man’s face practically dropped before he huffed. “You really don’t know?! I am The Great Sage Equal To Heaven! Vanquisher of Demons! I am… The Monkey King! Sun Wukong!!” He pointed at himself, staring at me as if expecting something.
A few seconds have passed before I spoke again. “...Cool.”
His eyes widened. “What?! That’s all you have to say about that?! ‘Cool’?! I am more than just ‘cool’!! I am–”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah… Anyway, if you’re some celestial being or whatever, why are you here?” I asked him.
Wukong chuckled as he leaned against his planted staff. “Well, if you must know, I was just doing my usual duties of being Monkey King. Defending Fruit Flower Mountain, killing demons, having fun…” He then frowned as he used a finger to dig into his ear. “But then, I get summoned to Heaven and Ne Zha was there, as usual. We got into an argument, not my fault by the way, and one thing led to another. Next thing I know, I am being banished to this realm by the Jade Emperor! Everything I have done for the Gods and the Buddha, yet all I get is banished…”
I gave him an unimpressed look. “Based on your behavior, I can see why they banished you.” Apparently, that was not the right choice of words as that only seemed to piss him off. He let out a screech and jumped at me, causing me to yelp in surprise. We then began to wrestle in the crater. Now, I would lie and say that I was totally winning the impromptu fight… but let’s be real, I am not some pro fighter nor have I ever been in an actual fight before. Wukong absolutely destroyed me, ending with him standing on top of me while I laid on the dirt. I groaned in pain and coughed. “...Okay, lesson learned: Do not piss off the monkey…”
Wukong nodded with a puff of his chest. “That’s right! I am The Monkey King! I have never been bested by any demon nor mortal! You can’t even possibly–” I then hear the sound of some kind of aerosol and Wukong screaming and yelling in pain. His weight disappeared from my back and I look to see him clutching his face and writhing on the ground. Melody stood over him in her cafe uniform, holding a can of pepper spray.
She helped me to my feet. “Are you okay? Who is that?”
I cough a bit and dust myself off. “Apparently, that is Sun Wukong… He got banished here, and he totally mopped the floor with me.”
Melody nodded and helped me to her car, then went back and was dragging Sun Wukong into the car. He was still writhing in pain, cussing us out, and practically promised to kill us when he could see again. I kinda felt bad but shrugged it off as Melody drove us back home. I'm sure he'll be fine... Probably.

On this note, I do think it makes for a good addition to a fanfiction. When done properly. I was going to make a post about it, but I guess this is a good time now. Jump to bottom for some fanfiction ideas/tips if you don't want to read through this
A lot of people like the angst, yes, but I noticed many fanfiction writers completely forget that the circlet has a purpose. That purpose being to discipline Sun Wukong and make sure he doesn't go off to kill someone or do something reckless.
This is something a lot of people tend to forget. Sun Wukong was not completely innocent and a lot of people like to write the circlet as if it were an item used to torture him and torture him only. That is not the intended use of it.
Guanyin gave Tang the circlet and tricked Sun Wukong into wearing it which was horrible, but what people often don't understand is that it needed to be done because he was difficult to control (we're talking about someone who went up against Heaven itself, there's is hardly anyone there to keep him in check) and he likely would have never helped the monk or anyone without it placed on him. He probably would have left the monk at some point or gone off to continue being like his usual self before being trapped under a mountain. Sun Wukong does not have clean hands and his bad behavior needed to be corrected when it was needed.
Aside from that though, I do hope that the next season does not use the new circlet as an angst troupe and there is a very good reason it was placed on him. I don't have my hopes up for good writing though based on the trailer. It does feel like they're only doing this for the angst. Let's hope I'm wrong.
Here are some ideas on why/how the circlet could be used.
Sun Wukong's character is more close to the Journey to The West version. He is more blunt, impulsive, and difficult to get under control, especially when it comes to demons that he often kills before explaining it was a demon.
You could make him a bit more violent or have a tendency for violence. I noticed other medias often portray him as such or they at least have him make open threats often.
Wukong is rather angry or heated before the circlet is used and he still displays that anger afterwards. (I really don't think any version of him would be the type to calm down easily once mad)
If you do want angst, maybe do it in the beginning when he's tricked into wearing it. I'm sure something like that would be heartbreaking to him if a person close to him did it or knew about it and did nothing. (Only do this for x readers/OCs or if Wukong already had a closeness with a character, otherwise the feeling associated with being betrayed makes no sense. If not that, then at least make sure his character has some trust for this to work and make sense. You can't feel betrayed or hurt if you never trusted someone to begin with.)
Some ideas from 4 applies here. Whenever the circlet is used in the presence of the character involved, that could be angst as well (guilt, but a sense of duty that it needed to be done)
Remember that there is a reason that circlet is there in the first place, have some snippets that reminds the reader of that. Examples: Wukong almost lashing out at a character, openly threatening them, showing hints of restrained violence when encountering a demon or known enemy, anger issues, impulsive behavior, bad manners accompanied with him refusing to help someone when he easily could have. Generally just being very misbehaved.

heya! is it okay to ask for Wukong and Macaque x a chubby, trans male reader? like the reader is insecure about his body, but Wukong and Macaque helps him feel better?
Hello!! I hope you like this; I'm not really an expert in writing trans readers and dysphoria, but I do want to learn more on how to!!
Wukong and Macaque x chubby! trans! male! reader that's insecure about how he looks
Wukong
Wukong understands why you're insecure. He doesn't agree with it, of course not! You're the most handsome person ever! But he gets why you can feel that way
He tries to make you feel better by cracking some jokes. Anything to see you smile and forget about those bad thoughts
Things like "C'mon, you're amazing! I mean, look at me. I'm a literal stone monkey, and there are people out there that think I'm a smokeshow! I mean, they aren't wrong but..."
Loves your chub. He makes sure you know how much he loves your chub. Always sleeps on top of you and kisses your belly
He offers up to take a ride on his cloud to take your mind off it, or maybe just take a stroll around the mountain
If not, he'll probably get some snacks and cuddle up with you on his couch watching TV shows. Keeps telling you how GREAT you are for cuddling and how amazing you are
You're his boyfriend after all! If you managed to keep this cocky monkey under control, then you're just as amazing as he is!! (Maybe even more amazing)
Macaque
Oh, Mac totally gets where you're coming from. He uses a glamour to hide what he really looks like, so he gets what you're feeling
Tries his best at comforting you. He's not the best with... words. He can tell you what you want to hear, but he doesn't want it to be so empty
So he takes down his glamour in front of you, for the first time ever. This is a really vulnerable moment for him, so bear with him as he tries to muster up the courage to speak
Tells you that he understands your feelings, but for him, you're the most perfect guy he's seen. He's quite the looker and got some attention from some people before, sure, but that was because he got his glamour on. You're the first person to ever see what he really looks like
Him taking his glamour off was his way of comforting you. Saying things like "I don't think I'm all that good looking either. But if you still love me, even if I look like this, then why shouldn't I love you back? You're the most perfect person in the world to me."
Mac doesn't really care about looks all that much. He seriously thinks you're the greatest, regardless of what you look like. He makes sure to tell you that every single day!!
And you know he means it, because his glamour is always off whenever you're around :]]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope this was good! Wukong's was more optimistic while Mac was more emotional. That's mostly because I think Wukong would try cheering you up using jokes and reassurances while Mac reveals to you what he looks like in a show of trust and comfort.
Wukong has no problem with being genuine, but Mac does, so the only way I could see him trying to comfort you was basically showing you his own version of "woah you're just like me fr" /j

Too Crazy In Love : Part 1, The Soulmate of the Monkey King.
Fandom: LEGO Monkie Kid
Characters: Sun Wukong(Monkey King), Reader
Themes: Soulmate, Yandere
Summary: Sun Wukong has his whole life been dedicated to finding his soulmate. He has had moments of doubt that you even exist but during the time he decided to take a break to look for you, and he finds you. You are his perfect soulmate. Unknown to him, he is not yours.
Word Count: 2669
A03 | Masterlist
Part 1(You are here) | Part 2 | Part 3
When he was first hatched from his rock, Sun Wukong - aka The Monkey King - hoped he had a soulmate. Yes, even after he accidentally lazer eyed the Jade Emperor, the God of Gods in the eastern world.
He imagined every day what his soulmate would be like. Would they too be like him? Would they be monkey-like, like his born form? Human? God? Worse case they could be a demon but he accepted within himself he would still love them no matter what.
It was only when he was working and studying under the sage who lived on top of the mountain of Heart and Mind did he reconsider everything he was hoping for.
The sage once told him that gods were originally only ever granted soulmates which changed after one too many gods’ soulmates were humans who could not return their love. This ended up allowing demons to have soulmates as well but for the time being there was no way to tell if Monkley had a soulmate. Only time could tell.
He had never considered NOT having a soulmate? What did soulmates even FEEL like anyway? How would he know? Maybe because he came from a rock he wouldn’t have a soulmate. And even if you were real, could he ever find you? Would you even love him as a monkey?
He started to train to change his form. Not just because it would be easier to not be killed by the 3 ways the Gods could kill him in his new immortal state, but now also to change his form if you never liked it.
He may never know if you were actually out there, but he was going to put in all his effort to make sure you did love him!
So when he was told by the gods he was going to become one, he was over the moon! It would make sure he did get a soulmate and most importantly would not just be able to find you, but to keep you safe with his God status.
So you can imagine his rage when he found out his rank in heaven actually the bare fucking bottom.
He didn’t think he ever… FELT angry before… He didn’t know if it was because the Jade Emperor technically lied to him about it, did it to control him, or was because he only accept it to make sure you were real and were safe. Either way, he was angry.
He made a short-sighted choice to go back down to heaven and call himself the Sage Equal to Heaven, but those fools needed to learn their place! The Jade Emperor sent down two fools to beat him and he overpowered them like it was a simple action like breathing. So when he was accepted back in with his requested title he was very happy. They also gave him a side job to look after the immortal peaches! And sure he MAY have eaten them, also stole the immortal wine and in his drunken state took immortal pills. Like, all of them.
What level of immortality did it make him? Technically it would mean he forever times immortal but he is counting am I right?
Sun Wukong is counting that’s for sure.
But could someone explain to him why they sent Erlang of all people to fight him? That just seems like a dick move.
So he is tied up about to be killed at the monster block and all he could think of was “I am not dying without seeing my soulmate’s face”!
But what could he do? They were going to kill him!--
Oh.
Right.
He is Immortal because of the peaches, wine, and pills.
He can’t die.
Damn he so smart. Your gonna love him I promise.
But again, Jade Emperor is mean and he calls his best pal, the Buddha.
Rude.
So when he met face to face, he was surprised by what the guy said.
“What do you want most, Monkey?” The Budda asked.
No one ever asked what he wanted.
“You know what?!” Monkey raised his voice at the man.
The Jade Emperor hid behind the Buddha and all the other gods watched in fear. What would this insane monkey do?
“All I want is a guarantee I will have a soulmate and no one will get in my way!”
Everyone became silent. This was not what they thought the insane immortal monkey would ask for and yet, here he was.
Everyone waited for what the Buddha would say. Surely after hearing it, he would not grant such a disgusting request. Hell, make sure Monkey never had one!
But everyone stood still and waited for what the Buddha would say.
“I’ll make a bet with you, Sun Wukong,” The Budda said calmly, breaking the tension in the air like a burning knife. “I will grant every request you make if you can successfully jump out of the palm of my hand.”
Upon hearing this without thinking, Monkey stepped onto the Budda’s hand and jumped as far and as high as he could. He will have you! No matter what!
He may have been too brash though as he jumped to the edge of the universe itself. He saw five pillars holding the sky and could only think that one day he would take you here.
To show his love for you before you even arrived into his life he wrote on one of the pillars saying “I will one day meet the love of my universe, and when that day comes I will love them forever”.
Of course, he takes a piss before he jumps back and lands perfectly back on the Budda palm feeling smug.
He felt cheated upon seeing the Budda’s face being disappointed only to be explained those pillars he saw earlier? Yeah, those were the Budda’s fingers.
As punishment Monkey was trapped under the mountain which was locked with a seal so he could never leave his prison.
The biggest shame to him however was that he would probably never see you, and so he cried himself to the point he became part of the earth.
But Monkey’s biggest shame would not be realised, that shame being that Monkey gained all this power for someone he could not know for sure would be real, and even left his partner in his shadow. That was his true shame and the true reason why he was punished.
Sun Wukong would have to wait for thousands of years to even meet your eyes for the shame he brought upon himself.
---
Wukong’s final act of being “a hero” was trapping away the Demon Bull King. After fighting demons, gods, and travelling to the West, he thought he had enough. He got all the powers to protect you, all the glory, now all that was left was to find you.
He left his staff to keep the Demon Bull King under wraps but also to show to everyone and everything he wasn’t doing it anymore. He was going out into the world to find you and that was all he wanted to do.
He went to every place on the planet multiple times over and still had yet to find you. He collected weird things over the years hoping to one day to show you everything single thing. However, as the years went on, the pile grew, and you had yet to still be found he left as if this had all been in vain.
Once again his hope for you to be real was vanishing and he didn’t believe it would be coming back anytime soon. Maybe this is what he gets from doing the Buddha of all immortal beings dirty like that all those years ago.
He remembered when he first saw MK. Some cheeky kid on his human life journey being a total fanboy of The Monkey King. But like, who wouldn’t haha.
It’s a tough call(it was in fact a spur of the moment move. Monkey King 101) to make MK his successor, but could happen right? The only reason he noticed him anyway was that he was watching Tripitaka’s reincarnation, Tang, who was very close with MK and was weirdly close to Zhu Bajie’s reincarnation Pigsy.
He teaches MK whenever he wants to but most of the time stays at his temple close to the city. His whole life he had been looking for his soulmate, but a break to train someone new to be his replacement couldn’t be harmful, right?
It was New Year’s Eve and he was training MK when the Spider Queen attacked. He was more annoyed with the whole thing but liked making jabs at The Demon Bull King and his son. It was very entertaining.
Well, besides the Lady Bone Demon thing but he was going to sort that out as fast as he could.
As he was walking around the ruined city to find some clues. He heard someone call out for help. There was something that pulled him towards the voice. His legs started moving towards where the voice came from before his brain could even work as normal.
“Help!?” you yelped out, hoping someone would hear you.
You had only wakened up from being turned into one of the Spider Queens followers, becoming part of the hive mind. But now you were hanging by a piece of clothing.
You had to admit you weren’t the biggest fan of heights and being held up by something that felt like it was ripping was scary.
You were suddenly tackled to the ground by a hairy thing? You hit the ground pretty hard and fast so it took you a moment the thing was talking to you.
“-can you hear me?” The voice asked you.
The voice was uplifting to your ears. You nodded your head as you blinked your eyelids over and over again to try to refrain your sight after hitting the ground pretty hard. Your head was in pain before after leaving the spider hivemind but now it hurt because of hitting the ground.
“I- I’m sorry I didn’t mean to hurt you, are you okay?” It sounded like whoever was talking to you was going to say something else before they realised the pain you were in. They were expressing real concern but it seemed like something was more important on their mind.
“Just hit my head, nothing too bad.” You were able to mutter out as your eyesight was coming back to you.
It seemed like the person who saved you was a human-sized monkey? You could pick out golds, oranges and reds at first. It was as if he was the burning sun, deciding to shine only on you. It was a little overwhelming.
He sat you up, letting your head rest on the hard stone wall in the alleyway you had found yourself in. It wasn’t what Wukong wanted for you but you needed to gather your surroundings before he could move you. He didn’t want to scare you.
He wondered why his body reacted in the way it did until he saw your face. Once he saw you everything hit him like a truck. The overwhelming warmth within his chest and on his cheeks and the feeling of butterflies within his stomach. It was the best feeling he had ever felt and he knew why.
It had been the moment he had longed for since he rose from his rock egg. You. You were his soulmate.
Seeing you in distress in the situation you were in made him jump towards you without thinking. He tried after you were in his arms to soften the blow you would feel but upon hitting the ground he realised he failed in that.
He was being stupid and rash, like he was back all those years ago. He should’ve thought about how he would save you before just jumping.
But, feeling you in his arms was so, amazing. He felt short of breath from your scent, his hands felt like they were on fire, and your dizzy little face was just so adorable.
And it was all his.
You were all for him.
You were his and his alone and that gave him such a rush.
You were perfect in every single way.
Your skin, your eyes, your hair, your voice, your body.
Everything was perfect.
Your sight had mostly returned to you, just being a bit blurry around the edges, you looked at the man who saved you.
He looked familiar to you but you couldn’t place where you had seen him before. Though, you did notice the man’s tail that had made a heart shape.
You didn’t try to stare at him, but you did notice he was staring at you like a lovesick puppy, and it had weirded you out a little.
“Um,” you tried to break the unnerving silence. “Thank you for saving me.”
“Adorable.” He said as if he wasn’t paying attention to what you had said.
“I- Excuse me?” You felt your cheeks flush and were confused by his words.
“I said your welcome.” He answered you with a big smile on his face.
Something about him and how he was looking and smiling at you made you, uncomfortable.
You wanted- No, you needed to leave, and now.
“Thank you for your help,” you said as you stood up, using the wall behind you as support. “But I should start getting myself home now.”
You felt uncomfortable that he was trying to help you stand up when his hands were too close to your waist. He stiffen when you mentioned going home and his forced smile was shown to you.
Sun Wukong was considering just taking you to his temple right now and keeping you in one of the secret rooms it had. If he did that, you would just be labelled as a missing person after the attack of Spider Queen.
He did notice you trying to back away from him, shrinking in on yourself agonist a wall.
You weren’t going anywhere, peaches. You weren’t going to leave his sight anytime soon. He had been searching for you for years, and he wasn’t going to let you slip away that easily.
His very tiny logical self tried to tell him not to act on impulse, with just the mention of that word made his younger self string up.
Should he just wisp you up into a cloud and take you straight to his temple? What if you started to fight back? A plan was already starting to form in his mind and unknowing his disgusting thoughts were showing on his face.
You could tell by how his eyes were looking at nothing, deep in thought and how he had a gross smile starting to grow across his face.
You needed to leave.
You sucked in your stomach and quickly brushed out of his lock. “Thank you bye!” You simply stated as you walked quickly.
You could feel the stare he was giving you as if he was burning you with lava straight onto your skin.
You tried to walk as fast as you could but you could hear his steps close behind.
Closer and closer.
Faster and faster.
Fear started to burn at your skin. What did this thing want with you?
He suddenly appeared in front of you, which made you gasp and almost trip over yourself.
He put on hand on your wrist, pulling you close with one tug then placing his other hand on your back.
“Sorry peaches,” He said with a twisted smile and lustful eyes. “I’ve been looking for you too long to let you just slip away just like that.”
You felt fear and dread mix together within you.
You never made it home that night.
Your family filled you as a missing person the next day and you were filled as missing to a suspected dead person of the Attack of the Spider Queen.
