fun detail I only put into context after seeing the post-fade jail romance scenes with all the companions: lucanis is the only one where rook is surprised when they realize he's there as he starts talking, because they didn't hear him come in haha. (Bellara and Neve knock before entering, like relatively normal people fhsda. Harding's scene starts in medias res but from the staging my vibe is that she and Rook entered the room together. Taash walks into the room ahead of Rook. Davrin comes in through a door left open for him -- Rook is standing with their back turned but they clearly expected him, they just smile a bit and don't seem surprised. Emmrich of course takes you to the Grand Necropolis for the top goth hookup since Mary Shelly fucked on her parents' graves, the man quite simply never misses.)

lucanis has also closed the door behind him without rook noticing. old assassin habits die hard I suppose lol. he totally still accidentally jumpscares the others without meaning to all the time because he moves around quietly when he doesn't think about it, I know this in my heart. Okay so now that we have more satyr lore in the show, I’m gonna need an in-universe documentary about all of the magical creatures and monsters narrated by minor god of nature himself David Attenborough and filmed by a crew of brave satyrs but it always goes horribly wrong. every time they try to document a monster in its natural habitat, the monster’s just reading a book or like eating a churro or something until either it tries to eat the crew or a demigod child appears and then they turn into a living nightmare and David is like “oh dear” in his posh British accent and they cut to some b-roll footage of centaurs galloping or something. And then when they try to get some cute footage of magical creatures, either the satyrs almost die or there’s a tragic death of the creatures like hippocampus babies traveling in a pod with their family, but then one of them gets eaten by a sea serpent and you see a satyr wailing in the corner as we hear David say something like “oh what a shame but that’s the circle of life” and they just keep on going. the satyrs keep trying to give the animals satyr’s blessings but that’s not allowed cuz they can’t interfere like normal documentarians can’t so it’s just them trying and failing to protect the animals while the omniscient god David Attenborough keeps narrating without pause. But it’s also their duty as satyrs to preserve nature so they still need to make the best show possible

He's the type of guy who believes they are the only person who can keep you from harm's way and from being tainted by the world. What's that? You are tainted? That's preposterous and untrue. He proceeds to act like he has never heard such a thing. Oh, how the world has already put such labels on you. It must be a burden. Luckily, he does not see you in such a way. You have been hurt, your heart has been broken, and your faith has been tested, but that does not mean you're far from saving. There is still a light within you and he will draw it out. He'll be your salvation. He forgives you for everything held against you; a true believer in your will and light.

Any sort of mental scars and/or trauma you may have are treated like wounds and need to recover under his care. You've been wounded too much to press on, let him take you in. The strong must protect the weak, after all. That was not meant to be an insult. He was once weak as well. He was someone weak before he grew stronger. Now he is strong enough to help others who are weak. You have to ask yourself at some point; how long until you can't keep going? Who will hold your hand then? It doesn't have to get to that point, you know. Just take his hand and everything will be alright. You won't have to worry about anything. You are better off without those burdens weighing you down. You are better off being free of the pain and anguish the world has to offer. He will make sure none of it reaches your senses.
