i think one thing that just really gets me every time about their dance is their faces. like they’re both just so awestruck the entire time. both so caught up in the euphoria of the other, both left in utter disbelief that any of this is happening, that they could feel the way they do about each other. especially at the end:

they were so lost in time and space, locked in that dance, feeling like it could never end because they never wanted it to end, that when it finally did, they were still just. stunned. they’re so enamored with the other, so speechless, so enchanted. they part for the first time and for a moment they just don’t even know what to do. they realized then that they were always meant to dance together, so, suddenly, they have absolutely no idea what to do with themselves, now that they’re not dancing.

of course, they realize what they must do.

because, oh, they know now with great certainty. they can never be apart again.
