I'm not anti-vote or anything, but I think some of the liberals on here greatly overrate how much damage a bunch of bored kids (most of whom probably can't even legally vote) talking shit on social media can actually do to the Democrats. So what if they turn out braindead "Genocide Joe" memes by the thousands per week? No meaningful voter would pay attention to those, and anyone who does never had a vote worth chasing in the first place.
The problem is that it's not just a bunch of bored kids. It feeds a larger social media ecosystem. Remember "cancel culture?" Remember how that became a right wing talking point that conservatives whined about in mainstream settings? That has its roots on tumblr. If you ever doubted that fringe social media movements affect mainstream politics, 2024 should have been the final nail in the coffin. JD Vance has very signifcant (and, frankly, underreported) ties to online far right communities (known as "groypers" to the terminally online) and it absolutely influenced his campaign and now he's bringing those interests to the vice-presidency. Elon Musk (the owner of twitter) and Vivek Ramaswamy want to run a government office named DOGE after a meme. We're sharing the internet with the people in power; we're all playing with live ammo. It's often a ripple effect or butterfly effect, so it's very difficult to predict what memes and posts from "bored kids" will make it to real life politics and how they'll be transformed along the way. Because it's so hard to predict, we need to be aware of the possibility and act with care. "Genocide Joe" memes contributed to a general feeling of dissatisfaction with Biden that, intentionally or not, played into the Trump campaign's "everyone hates Biden" narrative. A similar thing happened with Hillary in 2016.
Elections are also won and lost on the margins. Campaigns spend billons on ground games that persuade a very small percentage of voters, but it's better to persuade that percentage than not to. If you don't know if something is going to make a difference, you act as if it is when the stakes are high. Is the drag from a constant negative social media narrative going to hurt a campaign? Maybe, and either way it's definitely not going to help, so it's better not to have it. 2016 and 2024 were both very close elections.
Liberals also tend to interpret bored kids' posts as statements of action. If someone says they don't want a Democrat to win, will try to stop it, and will tell other people not to vote for that candidate, liberals are going to object to that.
It's usually not "meaningful voters" who decide elections. It's low-information swing voters who make up their minds on the way to the voting booth. These voters are, consciously or unconsciously, often influenced by perceived popular opinion. A lot of people don't have deeply held values that they've spent time examining, but have moral compasses more akin to "if everyone I know thinks this, it must be right." The danger of social media is that is also distorts the meaning of "everyone I know." Your meme about how you hate Joe Biden finds its way into an algorithmically-generated bubble and someone says "gee, it seems like everyone I know hates Joe Biden, I generally trust my social circle, he must be really bad." And it's self-reinforcing. They start sharing it or making similar posts of their own and it spreads to their contacts in their own bubbles.
I don't think the exact mechanisms or limits or this phenomenon are fully understood yet because social media is still too new, but it's very real.

Rain World climate change??/ Erhm this is mostly just spontaneous rambling and theories. Apologies if this seems inaccurate or if I'm overlooking something.
Anyways, this part is mostly considering downpour. In Saint's campaign we can see that the world is heavily frosted over, the rain has been replaced by what appears to be naturally occurring snowstorms. And if we bring up that one mention about how the iterators are the only sources of heat on the surface, this would make sense to why the region has changed so much after Five Pebbles' fall. (Which could also mean that during the time both Pebbles and Moon were standing, their overlapping regions would be much more tropical than others, and if their rains fell at the same time would cause significant flooding in certain areas).
If the world was naturally a frozen wasteland from the beginning (i doubt this), the process of building the iterators would have taken much longer considering the first generations' requirements of large water sources, assuming that water would largely be frozen or deep underground. Following this, it would make some sense for the ancients to build Five Pebbles so near Moon. Since the water there was already usable (which still holds up in general//under an added assumption that the ancients grew to care less and less about the iterators the longer they were left without answers. So instead of digging/finding a new water source they just placed Pebbles wherever was convenient enough).
I would assume (once again under an assumption, that the technology kickstarted from the void fluid revolution doesn't magically create eco-friendly tech and advancements) that the large amounts of iterators being built would contribute to a lot of greenhouse gases and carbon emission. Added on top of the desire to ascend and free themselves of the cycle, the longer they chase that answer the harder it is to actually live (both psychologically and physically in this sense). The iterators would render living on the surface (or at least their direct regions) near impossible with their rains, but the very existence of the iterators would also greatly affect global warming and floods on top of their already massive water output. Which would also explain why the farm arrays (assuming I'm reading the maps correctly) are on the very edges of the regions, as the heat from being so close to the iterator structures would likely wither most crops.
The ancients living on top of the iterator structures also poses another threat to their safety (assumptions once again lol, that the ancients would be susceptible to most illnesses and disease that humans do) once the ozone layer starts deteriorating from the iterator's continued existences. An increase in UV radiation which leads to skin cancers, eye damage as well as ecosystem disruption. Which also means that their crops, which might have been safe from the iterator heating due to their distance, may still be damaged and produce less yields over time. Now they have less food resources (which might not be the biggest issue considering the starvation tactic, but would probably suck for those who didn't want to starve or even ascend) and would likely have to turn to being nocturnal. All in all, making it an ever more miserable experience for the ancients who're tired of it all. Just another factor that maybe incentivized them not to wait in perpetuity for the solution.
Not to mention any mutations that the creatures would have because of this, if the early stages would overlap the ancients' presence. After some time the lizards would gotten bigger/more dangerous/aggressive and have adapted to the environment, and learned how to scale the super structures and find their way into the cities. Also the vultures, wherever they came from. Pole plants or similar variants might start appearing in their crops, if they still cared to harvest them. Repairing anything for the iterators, outside their superstructures, the broadcast lines, would also get more dangerous as the land is reclaimed by wildlife and the many predators that come with it. It might eventually even be too difficult to make internal repairs to the iterators with all the creatures finding their way inside.
#rain world#rain world theories#rw downpour#rambles#idk i was just thinking about this#does it make sense#its because i attended an environmental class#and i was thinking about rain world#the brainrot is too strong i fear

This came in as an ask along with some spam and my phone app did the horrid delay-lag thing where it updated the screen just as I was hitting delete on spam and nuked your non-spam ask. Apologies. I have excavated it as a screenshot from my email notifications and hope you end up being able to see it.
To answer your question:
Do I think the parent company that laid off 900 employees in March would do better than the heartless CEO and upper management that just laid off 220? I doubt it. Generally, the larger the company, the worse this sort of thing gets, and also the less likelihood you'll have diverse stories and non-mainstream content.
One of the things I love so intensely about Destiny is the queerness and cultural diversity they have within their characters, and the nuance and complexity the writers were able to bring to those narratives. It's why the story is as rich and beautiful as it is. I think it would be healthier if the people who have cost so many employees their livelihood with their poor management decisions (including selling Bungie to Sony in the first place) were replaced with people who actually loved the game. But I don't know if that is even possible at this point.
I also don't think that means that we will necessarily not see good stories in future, despite so many deeply beloved writers being cut away from the thing they poured so much love into for so long. A thing that is necessary to remember is that writing for a project as huge as Destiny is done in teams, not by individuals working on their own, and that when you are on a creative team, your influence lingers long after you leave. Your contributions inspire others on the team and they inspire yours.
Collaborative creativity is amazing because of that energy and synergy and symbiosis among the people working in these teams. The creative environment within Destiny has been drastically altered. But that doesn't mean those teams are now dead. The energy of those who are gone will linger and live on in the work of the team that remains (provided that work is allowed to be expressive at all).
"To love is to be changed." To create lovingly in a group means every individual who participates is changed by it. That's why it hurts so much and why it is going to be so hard for the individuals affected to recover from this, both the ones that were amputated from the team and the ones who remain.
I don't think Destiny will ever be 'back to normal.' You can't cut out such strong and beautiful creative voices from a team and still expect it to sing the same song. But those who remain may still sing, and that song may still be beautiful. And the influence of those who have been ripped away will continue, because collaborative creativity is like that. People within a group like this form an ecosystem and change each other. We won't get to hear what the new songs will sound like on their own until after Heresy, but those remaining have had so much taken from them. I think they deserve to be given a chance to be heard.
Stories are powerful. When you find a story that speaks to you deeply, it impacts your own thoughts about yourself. That is why so many of us are grieving what has been done to the beloved work of art, storytelling, and gameplay that is Destiny.
Do not let your grief keep you fixated on the past. This is an unwelcome change, but that does not mean there is no future for those who were ripped away from their teams, and it does not mean there is no future for what they worked on. We may still yet explore the vastness of space beyond Sol. Do not give up on any of these creative people. Support them, watch for what they do next, send them appreciation and gratitude and love.
Hope in darkness, finding ways to deal with irrevokable change, and healing from grief are all at Destiny's core. They aren't just pretty stories. They matter so much because they are essential. We need them.
Eyes up, Guardian.

Talk Shop Tuesday: as someone who is involved in a lot of fandoms (and has seen a lot of horrors), has there been a significant shift in how fandom is today compared to the “good old days” as much as people say?
there are. SO MANY.
to start and to be entirely clear, there is no good old days of fandom. there are things i miss about fandom tendencies of the past, which i'll get into, but as many many many marginalized fans have and will continue to say, Ye Ol' Fandom was as much if not more of a cesspit of racism, misogyny, and queerphobia as it is today. because fandom platforms were more diversified, they were also more gatekept--and i mean actually gatekept, not just "people are mean about this thing i like" gatekept. to an extent this was necessary--fandom itself was much more culturally stigmatized, and existed largely in a legal gray area, so fandom spaces needed to be semi-closed communities for their own protection. however, if you were a fan who tried to bring up systemic fannish issues--such as racism--you could and would be kicked out of whatever fannish space you were in, and there would very rarely be other places to turn.
also as a caveat: this is not anywhere CLOSE to a comprehensive view of the changes in fandom nor the myriad factors that contribute to those changes. fandom is a cultural ecosystem existing within a broader cultural ecosystem, and the ways those things interact with and inform one another are literally innumerable. anyone who claims they know the One Thing That Ruined Fandom is oversimplifying the issue. anyone claiming they know the Twenty Things That Ruined Fandom is oversimplifying the issue. fandom is a living system, and living systems exist in a constant state of change.
but broadly speaking, i think there are two major changes that have informed The State of Fandom.
Consolidation of Fandom Platforms
as mentioned, fandom used to exist as a variety of closed or semi-closed forum spaces, blogs, archives, and other websites, each dedicated to its own fandom or, more often, subsets of a particular fandom. authors/artists had their own sites, particular ships had their own sites, fic had its own sites, art had its own sites, discussion/meta had its own sites, and any or all of these could be hosted in any combination across any number of websites depending on the fandom. some of this was the result of the structure of the early internet, and some of it was, as mentioned above, a function of necessity.
as the internet evolved and fandom platforms became consolidated, this necessarily changed fandom norms and behaviours. the way we write fic is different because of the advent and dominance of ao3, the way we construct meta is different because of the nature of sites like reddit and tumblr, the way we build community is different because of sites like discord, etc. notably, most of the changes we've seen are not created by social media or mass fandom platforms, but rather enhanced by them. ship wank, whether masquerading as legitimate analysis or not, has always been a cornerstone of fandom--it like all things is simply much more accessible to people now than it used to be. the subdivision of fandoms into different subgroups, even within a ship or media, has also always been a thing--people form friend groups with like-minded people and that's normal, actually. the types of conversations and conflicts fandom has have not changed that much--just the places and manner in which we engage with them.
modern fandom platforms are both more accessible and more comprehensive than they ever have been--so fans can more easily than ever be exposed to different corners or subsets of fandom. but also. fans can more easily than ever be exposed to different corners or subsets of fandom.
The Scarcity of Long Running Media and the Dissolution of the Monoculture
the type of media that fandom now orients itself around has changed drastically as a result of changes in the broader media landscape, and this also changes fandom norms and behaviour. it is increasingly more rare for a fandom to develop over the course of years, because long-running serialized (or even episodic) narratives are becoming less common. tv shows especially are released with vanishingly short promotion cycles, and with less and less certainty of continuation. creators have to therefore hedge their bets--the binge model means there is no room to pivot mid-season if things aren't working out, and the lack of certainty around renewal means that seasons have to be relatively close-ended in order to try to deliver a satisfying experience. similar trends affect book publishing--we are seeing fewer and fewer multi-part series being released, and fewer books dominating cultural discussion in the way blockbuster series of the past have.
thinking of cornerstone megafandoms of the past (and present), we tended to see a couple essential elements that contributed to both fandom engagement and sustained fandom activity: they were released over a longer period of time, and they took up a larger portion of the dominant cultural landscape. the Harry Potter books were released over a period of ten years and were, of course, a huge cultural moment. Twilight was released over a shorter period of time, but was similarly a cornerstone of the monoculture, enhanced by the immediate and almost-eclipsing (heh) release of its movie counterparts. The X-Files was released over the course of, again, a decade, and they will be releasing new Star Treks until the mountains crumble into the sea and the stars turn to dust. these fandoms all have greater and lesser degrees of longevity and output, but they and fandoms like them all had the benefit of time and cultural dominance in order to enable the development of the fandom.
this is not universal (nothing i'm saying is universal), but fandoms nowadays tend to be a lot shorter-lived and migratory simply because they have less material to work with and less time in which to work with it. Voltron, as one example, was a megafandom that developed rapidly and burned out quickly, and while it had a decent amount of material, its eight seasons were released over the course of two and a half years. fannish momentum can only be sustained on so much material for a certain period of time, and fannish investment is necessarily going to be curtailed if fans live in uncertainty about the continuation of their favourite media.
this also is reflected in the type of fanworks that we see proliferating. while AUs were not absent from Ye Old Fandom, i do think they were a lot less common/prominent. the longer release cycles and difference in structure between releases (open-ended finales as motivation to hook viewers into the next installment that they knew/were pretty certain was going to happen vs close-ended finales that hedge bets if a series is cancelled) led to a lot more speculative fanworks set within the canon, imagining what was going to happen next. a famous example is of course the HP fandom's Three Year Summer--the period of three years between the release of the fourth and fifth Harry Potter books that was intensely productive for that fandom. fanworks in that period were famously long and plotty canon divergence/canon speculation works branching from the return of Voldemort in book four, and that tendency towards long and plotty canon-based or canon-adjacent fanworks persists within the HP fandom to this day.
fandoms nowadays do tend more towards works that are stripped from their canon contexts (the infamous coffee shop au, media fusion aus, modern setting aus, no powers aus), and while these works did exist in Ye Old Fandom, they were both more rare and their reach was more limited.
Some Kind of Conclusion Because This Is An Essay Now I Guess
to present a synthesis scenario: a particular trope is generated and popularized by one fandom. due to its presence on consolidated platform sites, it becomes ubiquitous within that fandom, spawning further derivatives, copycats, reimaginings, and variations. as people migrate from fandom to fandom, both as a result of the media landscape itself and the ease of doing so on social media/multi-fandom sites, the trope or AU spreads to other fandoms, and is again further transformed by those fandoms. this continues ad infinitum.
this pattern is not limited to tropes in fanworks--it is applicable to every element of fandom, from discourse to meta to creative works to behavioural norms. the state of modern fandom is interconnected to the platforms on which fandom is hosted and the media on which it is based. no longer is the one common unifying element of fandom the source media--the unifying element is fandom itself. this is why we see, for example, people stating they get involved in fandoms for media they have no experience with--they do not know the source text, but they know fandom.
i could literally go on and on--i didn't even touch on things like the destruction of the fandom fourth wall, or the relationship to the practice of filing off the serial numbers, or the existence of BNFs (actual BNFs not people like you seek who just Have Friends and Make Things), or the connection to nostalgia, or the relationship to commentary and analysis-based fandom outlets such as rewatch podcasts, or-
there are literally so many elements here. i could talk about this forever. i probably will be talking about this forever. please god someone let me out of here HELP-

Recently, a copy of Alpines & Bog Plants by Reginald Farrer fell into my hands (thank you, antiquarian bookseller). At first I thought it would be botany but it is actually a mix of hobbyist naturalist & horticultural anecdotes.
It’s a first edition, published in 1908 -- remarkably well kept, pretty obvious spotting & foxing and one plate appears to be detaching from the spine. The book is remarkably poetic, but it would be free verse with binomial nomenclature, which I haven’t seen before,
The dedication is an excerpt from Hippolytus by Eurypides, roughly (according to my friend who studies classics): “For you, lady, I bring this plaited garland I have made, gathered from an inviolate meadow, a place where the shepherd does not dare to pasture his flocks (except rabbits), where the iron scythe has never come;” In Hippolytus this is spoken to Artemis, but in this case the dedication is to Farrier’s mother which is heartwarming :) Here I will note that the idea of “nature” as something undisturbed (ungrazed, unharvested) is central to the colonial conceptualisation of ecology and has contributed to the forceful removal of indigenous peoples from their land (and the subsequent loss of biodiversity, as humans are not separate from nature and we can play an important role in ecosystems) Not calling Eurypides or this book inherently bad/colonial (more on the book & colonialism later) but this idea is def present in modern ecology and colonialism and important to highlight when present.
The book is full of black&white photographic plates which have held up really well for being over a century old. The plates themselves are beautiful:
The photographs were taken in Farrer’s own garden. Little snapshots of the past :)!!
The text content of the book is quite intriguing and not all good, definitely carries heavy cultural baggage as does modern Western biology in general. I will preface this by saying I have absolutely not battled my way through this book, but I have read sections. there is a definite 1900s-Englishman tone in all the ways that can mean. part of that is most certainly a degree of both xenophobia and orientalism. When venerating the beauty of the wilderness and of Japanese/Chinese garden design, there is obvious othering in the language used & Farrer is dismayed at the effects of cultural transmission (this is most notably in European gardens attempting to mimic the artistic style of east Asian gardens but using the “wrong” plants, usually European plants rather than importing non-native varieties that are more “authentic”). Farrer was deeply in love with Asian biota and was notable for collecting plants to bring back to Europe, and while I cannot speak on Farrer’s techniques specifically, such practices are deeply intwined in racism and colonialism. In many cases, economic systems & resulting hardships forced on other cultures by Europeans allowed them to exert control over certain groups, stripping them of agency and employing them to extirpate “uncooperative” groups. I haven’t found anything re:Farrer in this context but it is essential to place the entire book within this context!!
However the majority of the book is Farrer describing gardening as well as his travels to collect plants for propagation in the UK (notably he died while on one such plant-collection travel). Apparently (& corroborated by the preface) the plants he searched for were ones that would grow well in the UK w/o much care, to make having a cool garden more accessible regardless of income. so if a plant needed extensive care and things like hothouses, it was not his priority.
The way he describes plants is vaguely anthropomorphised in a generally appealing way, trying to make the reader appreciate the plant for things such as hardiness and robustness, which I suppose would align w/ the idea of making gardening easier. also in the sense that the robustness is tied in with beauty as well, as these features are of course not opposed to one another.
I may snoop through this book further to see anything else , we will see.

I hate hate hate when they make trolls have to leave their culture and customs aside just to go out with human people, I mean, troll culture is very harmful and should improve but, why the fuck do they have to give up everything just to go out with a human? Why the fuck do they have to leave the quadrants just for the comfort of humans? I hate it.
I don't mind humans getting into quadrants so much because there are actually real-life equivalents for some of them, for example the red quadrant is for couples and the pale quadrant is an equivalent to queerplatonic relationships that exist in real life. But anyway, we come back to the starting point, humans don't understand quadrants so this would be counterproductive due to our monogamous nature (because most humans are).
I don't think that troll-human relationships are imposible but man I hate the fact that one of them needs to forget all their culture for the other's comfort, it's worse that the people make this with all the troll-human relationships
Sometimes the troll is actually not happy with the troll culture and prefers the human culture
I understand that, but with every relationship? Man I hate it
Part of it is that some see the kismesis or black quadrant, as toxic and abusive. The only known other ones besides Eridan x Vriska would be Gamzee x Terezi and now John x Terezi. The former being a conflict in the continuing timeline for Act 6 and the latter because John going through depression as all his friends become a shell of their former self while Terezi still was still looking for Vriska. They don't apply it to fully on humans x human relationship because their tolerance towards pain, both physical and mental, is not as strong or insane like trolls have. People also see that troll cutlure was still built upon the hemospectrum aka the racist caste system. Keeping it apparently means supporting real life racism, when it doesn't. We also don't know either if humans (and Carapacians and Consorts) also participate or practice Alternia culture too. Let alone if they tolerate it. In both Meat and Candy timelines where it references Karkat eating beetles, Dave and Jade, the humans who were present seeing it, do not mind him consuming it. That begs the question of were the beetles FRESH from the outside or were they caught and packaged like it was a regular old snack? Even the chocolate dipped ones mentioned in the former could be interpreted as Karkat/Dave/Jade catching beetles outside and then dip them into chocolate sauce for their troll lover. Is there no food regulations on Earth C when it comes to bugs and insects being consumed because a troll's biology works different from others? What if a human wants to eat it or attempts to do so? Will they get sick? What measures would it take if they do fallen ill that it may lead to death? Can Consorts be affected? Are Consorts fine because they are mostly like animals? With bugs and insects being a trolls' main diet, does that mean all bugs of any kind are up for game for the trolls to eat? Maggots? Dung beetles? Worms? Does Earth C have measures for trolls not to eat certain bugs that would contribute to the ecosystem like bees and ladybugs? What about trolls using some of their own blood as condiments? Is grubsauce still a thing or not? It's technically cannibalism on the trolls. It's up on the air too on how grubsauce is made like is it from dead trolls or even dead GRUB BABY TROLLS if they fail to do the trials? Can grubsauce be made before a troll hatches? Like is it part inside the egg? Does it count as abortion? What if Kanaya wants to still celebrate 12th Perigee's Eve with Rose? Would fans imagine a human like Rose, decorating a large pile of monster poop in the first place? What if people like to imagine that instead of monster poop if behemoths don't exist on Earth C, they use other animal shit like an elephant or gardening manure instead? Is it insensitive to replace an important object or just as disgusting even with a different creature? Nobody wants to draw Rose and Kanaya decorating a pile of feces or admit that Dave is kissing a guy that would eat dung beetles for dessert.

A 2-week African safari is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many travelers, offering breathtaking landscapes, exotic wildlife, and the chance to explore the diverse ecosystems of the continent. But when considering such an adventure, one important question arises: How much does a 2 week African safari cost? The cost of a safari can vary significantly depending on various factors like destination, level of luxury, time of year, and the type of safari experience. Whether you're planning a budget-friendly journey or seeking a luxurious safari experience, understanding the cost factors is essential in making an informed decision. In this article, we’ll delve into the factors that determine the price of a 2-week African safari, highlight key safari destinations, and look at a company like Augustine Tours, a leader in multi-day safaris across East Africa. Factors Influencing the Cost of a 2 Week African Safari A 2-week African safari offers an unforgettable opportunity to experience the continent's rich wildlife and culture. However, the price tag can vary significantly. So, how much does a 2 week African safari cost? Several factors contribute to the overall price, including the destination, type of safari, accommodation choices, and inclusions such as park fees, meals, and guided tours. Let’s look at these in more detail. Destination Matters: East Africa vs. Southern Africa When considering a safari, your destination plays a crucial role in determining how much does a 2 week African safari cost. Popular safari destinations in East Africa like Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi tend to offer different pricing structures based on the variety of wildlife experiences available. For example, Tanzania safari costs may be higher in popular areas like Serengeti or Ngorongoro Crater, while Kenya offers both budget and luxury African safari experiences in places such as the Maasai Mara. On the other hand, countries in Southern Africa, such as South Africa and Botswana, may offer slightly lower costs for safari packages, particularly in self-drive options. However, East African safaris remain a top choice for travelers seeking the safari of their dreams, with abundant wildlife and breathtaking landscapes. Tour Type: Group vs. Private Safaris The type of safari you choose also impacts the overall price. Group safaris, which are more common in budget options, typically have lower costs due to shared expenses among travelers. If you’re asking, how much does a 2 week African safari cost in a group setting, you can expect to pay less than you would for a private safari. For those seeking a more tailored experience, private safaris (which can be organized through agencies like Augustine Tours) tend to be slightly expensive but worth it. Tailor-made safari tours offer personalized itineraries, exclusive access to luxury accommodations, and the flexibility to explore lesser-known destinations at your own pace. Accommodation and Luxury Levels: From Budget to Ultra-Luxury Another important question when determining how much does a 2 week African safari cost is where you’ll be staying. Safari accommodation options range from budget-friendly tented camps to luxury lodges and private villas. Budget Accommodation For those on a tight budget, tented camps or basic lodges offer a comfortable yet affordable way to experience an African safari. These accommodations typically range from $150 to $300 per night. While these camps may be basic, they still provide excellent opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, and you won’t sacrifice the wildlife experience. Mid-Range Accommodation Mid-range options, such as permanent tented camps or larger lodges, offer more comfort and typically cost between $300 and $600 per night. These options often include amenities such as pools, en-suite bathrooms, and even guided tours, all included in the package price. Add-On Costs: Park Fees, Guides, and Transportation When calculating the total cost of a 2 week African safari, don’t forget to factor in additional expenses like park entrance fees, transportation, and the services of local guides. Park Fees Most safari parks charge an entry fee, which can range from $30 to $100 per person per day, depending on the destination. These fees are essential for wildlife conservation efforts and support the local economy. When asking, how much does a 2 week African safari cost, remember that these park fees can add up, especially in well-known destinations like Maasai Mara or Serengeti. Guided Tours and Safari Vehicles Safari travel articles often emphasize the importance of having a knowledgeable guide. Guided safari tours usually come with an additional cost, but the experience is worth it. Guides can offer fascinating insights into animal behavior, plant life, and local cultures. Private safari vehicles, which are often included in luxury tours, also come at an additional cost. Transportation Between Locations Depending on your itinerary, you may need to travel between different safari locations via domestic flights or road transfers. The cost of these transportation options varies, but domestic flights within East Africa can range from $200 to $500 per person, depending on the route and season. Recommended Booking Options: Tour Operators vs. DIY Safaris When it comes to booking your safari, there are two main options: booking through a reputable tour operator or organizing your trip independently. ■thought: While the larve may cost some crop loss due to their appetites being similar to ours with their love of tublars and roots and occasionally leaves of crop plants, the adult Crane Fly does not have mouth parts to drink blood or inject venom, nor do they consume mosquitoes (like the nicknames "Mosquito Hawk"or "skeeter eater" implies).
■contribution: From the Article "What Eats Crane Flies: The Intriguing Predator Unveiled" by Daniel Marlos Piyushi Dhir-
"Crane flies may look intimidating, but they’re often a misunderstood outdoor critter. You may have encountered these large, mosquito-like insects in your yard and wondered about their role in the ecosystem. Knowing what eats crane flies can help us appreciate their place in the natural world and can give us a better understanding of how these fragile creatures fit into the food web.
In the wild, crane flies play an essential role in the food chain, serving as a valuable food source for various creatures ranging from birds to amphibians. By understanding the dietary preferences of these predators, you can gain a better appreciation for the intricate relationships between different species and the balance that exists in nature.
For instance, common predators of crane flies include birds like robins and swallows, which feast on both adult crane flies and their larvae. Frogs, toads, and even some spiders may also snack on these insects, helping control their population and ensuring that the delicate ecological system maintains equilibrium. Overall, understanding what eats crane flies leads to a better appreciation for the interconnectedness of our natural world."
■thought: Mosquitoes have a bad wrap. Of the 3000 some odd species of Mosquitoes, less than 2% of them drink blood, and less than half of those drink human blood, and are considered disease vectors. Those Mosquitoes, like Aedes aegypti, or the Yellow Fever Mosquito for example, have done so much damage to the public relations of anything Mosquito-like, that even the harmless and important Crane Fly suffers, despite the resemblance being almost non-existent (its not even a mosquito!). Below is a picture of Aedes aegypti:
When being outside, you may encounter an animal that scares you or creeps you out. It's okay to be afraid of things that you do not know about, and easier still to not have compassion with something that can look so alien. Crane flies and their family were born on earth over 245 million years ago- they're the oldest family of flies ever to exist! That makes them a bonafide Earthling 😊
They, and all other animals on earth, deserve to be here just as much as we do. Their time on earth is finite and precious, just like ours. They are just animals who look scary to us because they are so fragile and easy to harm. I personally consider them to be similar to faeries. 💜

💌💥
OHHHH these two made me think about some Stuff!!!!
thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!
💌share something with us about an up-and-coming work (WIP) that has you excited!
So I'm writing a due south thing in which both meg and ray are in love with fraser and fraser's very kinky, but doesn't seem to be able to set boundaries -- anyway, meg goes to ray for help because she's a mean dom, but she's worried she'll be too mean and he won't say no when he wants her to actually stop.
So this is near the beginning of meg and fraser's first little attempt...
“You don’t have to be so polite,” she says against his lips, smiling, before she chases a want and bites down. Oh, this feels so different to anything she’s wanted before. No, that’s not right. Not technically – it feels like something she’s always wanted, but not wanted to admit to any man, because men – even men who like being pushed around in the bedroom – would never let her have any real power. But Fraser... Ben… he exhales softly on the bite, no flinch, no complaint, and she tastes blood. She withdraws to survey her handiwork. Fraser runs his tongue over the spot. He doesn’t seem upset or uncomfortable, just dazed. Perhaps a little curious even. It makes her bold enough to go with her next instinct, to place a hand on his cheek and press down with her thumb over the slightly swollen place, just to let the hurt linger a little longer. To her surprise, he parts his lips wider to take it in, eyes fluttering shut when she allows it to slide past his teeth and into the wet hollow of his mouth, in and out, at first shallow, and then deeper and deeper, pressing down on his tongue. Something inside him seems to have coalesced entirely around this single movement, his arms hanging loosely at his sides, his body limp and barely supporting his weight. Well, if he wants down…
💥find your least kudos'd fic - say something wonderful about it.
My least kudos'd fics are also funnily enough the last two I wrote -- I think they might also be the fics with the least hits, so they are just sweet rare babies.
Snapshots (getting married in buffalo jump): I'm so into this fic. It's my first Paul Gross contribution (but there will be more) and it's in a fandom that has four fics. so for one, I'm adding to the ecosystem. For two, I think it's got great balance in terms of writing three characters orbiting around one another and keeping them/their emotions all in frame without cluttering the story -- I really enjoyed working within the cracks of the material to create this dynamic, one that very much could be inferred from both the film and the book, but obviously they weren't going to be brave and out-and-out make those leads polyamorous
Thirdly this is probably the most graphic sex I've ever written and I think I did a pretty good job! I write a lot of kinky scenarios, which often include sex, but as a background/embedded part of the kink -- this one is also kinky, but it's very based around a sexual scenario
Last, I really enjoyed writing two femmy doms. Two for the price of one fic!!!
I also think (last last) it's a pretty easy fic to read without knowing the source material, it's got a certain book je ne sais quoi to it once the main stuff has been explained (granted, a very short book of which roughly half is sex)
nowhere fast (streets of fire): another movie barely anyone watched in which I believe I'm the only person who wrote this ship (last I checked) -- it's an f/f that I think does a good job of centering lesbian cultural references and is also great at that fun melancholia-tinged-eroticism that I'm personally super fond of. the ideas in it around loneliness and running away and living moment to moment and prediction that there will be trouble in the future but right now is the only thing that counts anyway and how that applies to queer women in the world they're in...
the characterisation of the two once more builds on a text that offers sparse - but specific - bits of narrative to play with and I really liked taking them in a direction that was about centering them when they were more emotionally on the outside in the source material (and making that - for one of them - part of the meta narrative). The original narrative gave us an obviously butch woman and then just... let her sort of rest like that and do badass things, which was fun (hey you take what you can get) but you wanna scratch that itch and actually explore that butchness some more. I think I did a great job of that
just a beautiful melancholic lesbian homage to a fun movie (which I would also recommend for sheer Coolness factor! young willem dafoe biker gang! music written by the writers for meatloaf and stevie nicks! butch sidekick with a gun who's awesome!)

The Growing Trend of Corporate Beach Cleanups: How Businesses Are Helping to Tidy Our Shores
In recent years, corporate social responsibility (CSR) has evolved from a buzzword into a tangible, actionable commitment for many companies. One of the most impactful ways businesses are giving back to their communities and the environment is through corporate beach cleanups. These initiatives not only contribute to the health of our oceans and shorelines but also offer businesses a chance to engage their employees, foster team-building, and enhance their brand image. Here’s a closer look at why corporate beach cleanups are gaining traction and how they benefit both companies and the environment.
Why Corporate Beach Cleanups Matter
The state of our beaches and oceans has become a pressing global issue. According to the United Nations, over 8 million tons of plastic waste enter the oceans each year, and much of it ends up on the world’s beaches. This pollution harms marine life, disrupts ecosystems, and poses a significant threat to biodiversity. In response, local and global environmental organizations have called for increased action to reduce waste and protect coastal ecosystems.
Corporate beach cleanups serve as a powerful, hands-on way for companies to contribute to these efforts. By organizing teams of employees to clean up beaches, businesses can make a real, measurable difference in tackling this issue. These efforts also help raise awareness about pollution, plastic waste, and the importance of preserving our oceans for future generations.
The Benefits for Businesses
Enhanced Employee Engagement and Team Building Participating in a corporate beach cleanup provides employees with an opportunity to bond outside the office. Whether it's working together to remove plastic waste or organizing logistics for a cleanup event, employees often feel a sense of accomplishment and unity. This team-building experience can improve morale, foster stronger relationships, and boost employee retention.
Positive Public Relations Corporate beach cleanups provide a company with excellent PR opportunities. By taking visible action to protect the environment, companies can strengthen their brand image and show customers that they are committed to sustainability. In an era where consumers are increasingly concerned about environmental impact, this kind of community-focused initiative can lead to increased customer loyalty and even attract new clients who value corporate responsibility.
Contributing to Sustainable Development Goals Many businesses are aligning their operations with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 14: Life Below Water. By participating in beach cleanups, companies actively contribute to the health of marine life and the preservation of marine
resources, while demonstrating their commitment to global sustainability.
Creating a Ripple Effect Corporate beach cleanups can create a ripple effect within communities. Employees who participate in these events are often inspired to take action in their personal lives, leading to broader community engagement. Additionally, businesses that lead such initiatives often encourage other companies to follow suit, amplifying the positive impact on both the local environment and the global effort to reduce ocean pollution.
How to Organize a Corporate Beach Cleanup
Partner with Local Environmental Groups Many environmental organizations already have beach cleanup programs in place, so partnering with them can help businesses organize effective and impactful events. These groups provide the expertise, materials, and logistical support needed to ensure a successful cleanup.
Choose the Right Location Consider organizing a beach cleanup at a location where pollution is particularly severe, or where the company has a vested interest, such as near its headquarters or an area frequented by employees. Choosing a high-traffic area will also increase the visibility of the event.
Provide Necessary Tools and Safety Equipment Provide participants with gloves, trash bags, and any other necessary tools. Ensure that participants are aware of safety guidelines and that the event is accessible to all employees, regardless of fitness level.
Create a Fun, Collaborative Atmosphere Make the event enjoyable by offering refreshments, creating a friendly competition (such as who collects the most trash), or combining the cleanup with a social event afterward. This encourages greater participation and ensures that employees feel valued.
Track and Publicize the Results After the cleanup, be sure to track how much waste was collected, and publicize the results on the company’s website, social media platforms, or press releases. This transparency will showcase the company’s dedication to the cause and highlight the tangible outcomes of their efforts.
Conclusion
Corporate beach cleanups are a win-win initiative, allowing businesses to contribute to the fight against ocean pollution while strengthening their relationship with employees and customers. These events not only serve as a hands-on way to address one of the planet’s most pressing environmental challenges but also provide companies with an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and Corporate shoreline cleanups responsibility. As more companies adopt beach cleanups as part of their CSR strategy, the potential to create lasting, positive change for our oceans and beaches continues to grow.

5G Technology and Its Impact on Digital Marketing
The world of digital life is in continuous evolution; among the most innovative revolutions shaping the face of marketing today is the emergence of 5G technology. Next-generation wireless will ensure not only faster internet but also lower latency, better connectivity, and increased data processing power. 5G will realign how businesses, marketers, and consumers interact with digital content-to both a wake-up call and an opportunity for companies to revisit their strategies in light of new digital economic realities.
In this blog, we will show how 5G technology is going to bring huge differences in the field of digital marketing and provide a view on how businesses can use this innovation to level up their marketing and engage more customers. Marketers and business owners stand to gain from these changes, especially at the rapidly growing Digital marketing academy in Tirupur.
What is 5G Technology? First, it is important to look at what 5G technology is and why it's a game changer before looking at its impact on digital marketing. 5G is actually short for the fifth generation of mobile networks and is the giant leap from 4G LTE. It has the following:
More velocity in downloads and uploads: 5G is said to be 100 times speedier than 4G. That is to say, for instance, that data-intensive tasks such as video streaming, downloading of large files, and virtual reality would take place almost instantly.
Low latency: This refers to the word applied to the time taken by data to move from one point to another. 5G reduces latency to just a few milliseconds, so real-time interactions and seamless communication between devices are enabled.
More devices, more connectivity-smart devices, vehicles, among others-stand to be connected within a smart ecosystem through 5G at more per square kilometer.
These features will go a long way and leave an indelible effect on industries across the board, more so on digital marketing.
5G and Content Delivery: Faster, More Engaging Experiences One of the most significant ways in which 5G is going to impact digital marketing is through better content delivery. As internet speeds get quicker, people's way of consuming content online will change. Here's how:
Smarter Video Marketing Video leads the content marketing contribution, and with 5G, it is about to get even bigger. Indeed, with 5G, consumers will be able to view HD and 4K videos without buffering or any delays; hence, it will be more engaging. Because of this fact, marketers will have all the more reasons to create high-value and appealing videos that will help them capture and retain target audience attention.
VR and AR: Both these technologies will be more accessible to virtual reality marketing and augmented reality as latency reduces with 5G. Brands can provide interactive experiences, such as virtual trials of a product or immersive ads where the user can interact directly with the product. For example, suppose there is a Digital marketing academy in Tirupur; it creates a VR tour of its facilities. Probable students can get a feel of it before committing to joining it.
Interactive Content, Real-Time Engagement With 5G offering increased speeds and bandwidth, new, more interactive content formats can be tried out. Imagine everything from polls and quizzes to live video streams down to real-time product demos-all that enable the delivery of more engaging content which invites instant consumer participation.
This would enable real-time communication and, thus, more responsive customer service chatbots, live video calls, and interactive help desks. With 5G, brands can offer customers instant solutions to their issues, which means a much higher user satisfaction ratio.
Better Mobile Experience With the advent of 5G, mobile experiences will change dramatically. In fact, mobile traffic presently constitutes more than half of global web traffic. And as 5G becomes more prevalent, even more people will connect to the internet via their mobile devices. This means that as a digital marketer, one needs to make sure to innovate or optimize a mobile-first approach which should leverage this enhancement in speed and connectivity courtesy of 5G.
Mobile Advertising: With 5G, mobile ads can be more dynamic and engaging. For example, marketers can add interactivity within their mobile ads, such as instantly-on clickable AR features or product videos. This will get users' attention and improve the chances of conversion. The Role of Data in 5G-Driven Digital Marketing Data plays an important and crucial role in digital marketing, and with 5G, the amount and quality of data available to marketers will increase massively. Here is how that could take place:
More Precise Consumer Insights With faster and more reliable internet connectivity, 5G will give speed to marketers in collecting data. Such data will provide richer consumer insights, thus enabling businesses to create more personalized marketing campaigns using live data.
For example, businesses can see in real time the ways in which users are interacting with their content or website and adjust their strategies on the fly. For example, a Digital marketing academy in Tirupur might analyze how prospective students interact with its digital resources and manipulate its marketing messages to provide closer matches for what they are looking for.
More Targeted and Personalized Communications 5G is going to enable marketers to get even more precise in targeting due to increased data processing. With real-time data and behavioral analytics, businesses will be able to create hyper-personalized content for individual users.
For example, real-time location data can be leveraged to deliver personalized messages or offers when the customer reaches any particular location. The more personalization will ensure better user experiences, finally leading to better conversion rates.
5G and Digital Advertising: A New Era of Innovation The arrival of 5G will mark a sea change in digital advertising. Speeds will rise, observed data will improve, and advertisers will be able to make much more engaging and impactful ads. How? Well, here's how:
Immersive Ad Formats With 5G, marketers will have room to experiment with immersive ad formats that bandwidth constrained in the past. For instance, AR ads, interactive videos, and live-streamed ads will be more commonplace because 5G creates a seamless experience and opens these touchpoints up to a wider reach.
What this means is that brands will be able to use immersive advertising to create memorable experiences for their audience that motivate higher levels of engagement rates and brand loyalty.
Programmatic Advertising and AI 5G will be a driver for growth in programmatic advertising, too, which leverages AI to automate buying and placement of ads in real-time. With 5G, because of increased speed and lower latency, data collection and placing ads will fall well below that, making the process even more efficient and effective.
With AI-powered tools, data analysis will also go real-time, thereby further enabling marketers to make quicker decisions and tweak their campaigns where necessary.
The Future of SEO in a 5G World SEO will not be left behind in the impact brought about by 5G technology. As more and more users turn to mobile devices with 5G in tow, search engines will give precedence to websites that offer fast, mobile-friendly experiences.
Faster Load Times Currently, website speed is one of the most important ranking factors in SEO. With 5G, users' appetites for speed would become even more voracious. The optimized websites for speed will rank higher in search engines, while slow-loading ones may suffer ranking-wise.
Voice Search Optimization With 5G, voice search will be more common because of lower latency. As more users will begin to use voice-enabled devices to search for information more quickly, marketers will have to prepare themselves to optimize their content more for voice queries.
Conclusion: Prepare for a 5G-Driven Future with Digital Marketing 5G technology is going to revolutionize digital marketing in ways that were not earlier thought of. With higher speeds, lower latency, and improved connectivity, businesses need to rethink their approach to digital marketing in order to remain relevant. From better video marketing and interactive content to enhanced data collection and real-time engagement, 5G has an endless number of opportunities for marketers in creating more dynamic and immersive experiences.
We are one of the growing digital marketing academies in Tirupur, and staying ahead of these trends surely makes a difference to assure your success in this ever-changing digital world. Adopt 5G and implement it in your digital marketing strategies to add much value to your audience, engagement, and conversion rate.
