since clover is starlo's kid, how does solomon and crestina feel about being grandparents and how does orion feel about being an uncle?
Oh, Starlo's parents absolutely adore Clover, no questions asked. They don't mind at all that Clover is a human! That's their son's child, and thus, that makes Clover their grandchild. Clover is absolutely spoiled by them and they love whenever Starlo brings them over to visit. Clover has lots of sleepovers at the farm house growing up! Having grandparents is something they've never experienced before on the surface, but they adore their new grandpa and grandma.
I HC that Crestina and Solomon (based on Crestina's dialogue if you speak to her in their farm house) were kind of nudging their sons to settle down with a spouse/kids. They weren't too harsh or pushy about it, but you know Starlo gets a few comments over it from his mother. The fact that they're so relieved to finally have a grandchild is a little embarrassing for Starlo.
Orion acts disinterested at first. He doesn't really want to get involved with being an uncle when he already has farm work to deal with. But despite that, he warms up to Clover really quickly (partially because Starlo threatens to kick his ass if his brother is mean to his kid). Even if he doesn't show it that often, he really likes having a nibling. He tells Clover all of Starlo's embarrassing teen stories to get back at his brother, and Clover is one of the few people he truly enjoys the company of. I imagine they get even closer when Clover's older.
So overall, Clover's absolutely been accepted and adopted into the Sunnyside family! They love Starlo's funny little human baby.

I just adore the idea of Clover going from a single unloving parent to a huge supportive and loving adoptive family#They deserve to have grandparents who spoil and love them I think

popping in for slick sunday again with another bit on a fic im working on :) i hope you enjoy :)
(warnings ahead for mpreg, angst, and some medical stuff that probably doesn't make actual sense bc i possess no more than a basic knowledge)
this fic's big focus is secret pregnancy. steve and eddie are not dating, but they have this more "friends with benefits" type thing going on. that is, until eddie leaves. he's off with Corroded Coffin, trying to make a name for themselves in the industry. what eddie doesn't know, and what steve finds out a few weeks later, is that steve is pregnant (with twins).
steve decides to keep it a secret because he doesn't want to "ruin" eddie's life. he knows eddie would come back the second he knew, and he didn't want to be the reason eddie gave up on his dream. steve doesn't tell anyone for the first month or so, and then slowly, their friends start being pulled into the loop. robin first, of course. everyone promises not to tell eddie, even though most of them aren't happy about it. eventually, even wayne and the rest of corroded coffin find out about it.
wayne insists on being part of their lives, if steve will let him. which obviously he does, because he loves wayne and would never want to keep him out. so then it's weekly dinners at the trailer, and wayne offering to babysit when steve has to work, and wayne coming over to their apartment often. the twins spend a lot of time with wayne, and he spoils them whenever he can. he's really the only grandparent figure they have, and he's more than happy to take on the role.
when eddie does, eventually, find all of this out, it's not under the best circumstances. it's been about six years since he left hawkins without looking back. the band is at the studio, recording for the new album, when eddie gets a call. the first time he's heard from steve since he left. his entire world is flipped when steve drops the news. eddie has pups he's never known about, and one of them is sick. really sick. the doctors don't think she has much time, and she needs a bone marrow transplant, but finding a match is taking longer than they'd hoped. eddie might be the only option left to save her.
of course, eddie's on a plane back to indiana that same night, no questions asked. well, very few questions asked at least. his mind is reeling the whole time. he doesn't have the full story. all he does know is that he has to get back. he meets the twins separately. first, his daughter, before she's taken for more testing. she lights up, so excited that he's there and asking 100 different questions all at once. he loves her so much already. he meets his son a little later, and it's different. he's more closed off, wary. he's sitting on steve's lap glaring daggers at eddie across the room. it's clear that he holds some resentment, and eddie can't say he blames him. when eddie tries to explain that he's there to help, that he'll be there however long they need him, the boy blows up. he's angry, spitting back at eddie that they don't need him, they never did. steve immediately tries to step in, but eddie stops him. he's right, and eddie knows that. he deserves this.
it may have been steve who kept the twins from eddie, but eddie's the one that never bothered to come back. never called. never visited. he's just as much to blame, and he knows that. all he can do is try to make up for his own shortcomings, and hope it's enough.
happy slick sunday!
oh my god my heart is broken😭

Jack and Janet died young and it's completely plausible that Tim has living grandparents somewhere and aliens exist and therefore at least his maternal grandparents have a chance of having been abducted by their alien lover.
Grandpa Drake who drank his respect women juice at every meal and Grandma Drake ultimate mom friend and professional student were not fans of Jack Drake and would regularly have him investigated by a private detective every few months in hopes of finding some skeleton that would persuade Janet to make good use of the prenup
Grandma and Grandpa Drake, and their non binary alien lover, who adopts Tim as their own grandchild as well and will be called Grandy, when they meet their grandson Tim in the wilds of space, absolutely adore him. They adore their grandson's queer platonic/romantic life partners. They are persuaded to return to earth for a bit to meet their other grandchildren and decide to stick around and spoil them because Dick, Tim, and Cass all deserve grandparents that will spoil them. Grandy is royalty on their home planet but very much not the ruler, more of a duke/duchess level. This leaves them independently wealthy and also considering one of their consort's grandchildren as their own heir so the three of them can fully retire. Tim helps Grandy set up a way to govern their duchy while traveling. The thruple also decides to semi adopt YJ and and spoil them too since there is clearly a lack of grandparents in the lives of their grandson's life partners.
My gods. "drank his respect women juice at every meal" and Grandy are fantastic additions, and I love them. Let Tim and those he loves get adopted by grandparents.
I'd also really like to see the three of them (Grandma, Grandpa, and Grandy) meet up with Ma and Pa Kent. I think Grandma and Grandpa could relate with Ma and PA about having a loved one be an alien (it's different but similar enough) as well as being grandparents. Maybe Alfred gets invited as well.
Alfred, at least in this AU, was in a thruple relationship with Martha and Thomas Kent. It'd be chill to just watch all of their interactions and how they react to each other.
At the end of the day, all of the grandparents love their grandkids, and they can bond over what it's like to be grandparents (as well as giving Grandma, Grandpa, and Grandy advice on being grandparents [since they disappeared before Tim was born if I'm remembering correctly]). They would also be grieving Janet's death if they didn't get any info from space.

super popular gilmore girls takes i disagree with:
”younger jess didn’t deserve younger rory, older rory didn’t deserve older jess”
they both went through rough patches that caused them to hurt people and not be the best versions of themselves but they still were the same people all their lives, there’s no ”chilton rory” and ”yale rory” here. and THE WHOLE APPEAL of rory and jess is that they don’t judge eachother and don’t see eachother the way the rest of the world does. now speaking off…
”chilton rory>yale rory”
rory gets too much shit. can we stop idealizing her child self and start realizing that being a young adult is hard. also words like ungrateful, spoiled and priviliged are thrown around and eh… rory actually seems appreciative of her very humble past and has many lovely qualities like not caring about other people’s opinions and making her own judgement. and you do know that ”she threw away everything her mom gave her” is the argument emily apologists use right? rory remains who she is even after she is thrown into a world of privilige overnight, which is admirable. ofc she has her moments but in general.
”lorelai hated jess because she saw herself in him”
my girl lorelai isn’t self relective enough for this, she hates jess bc he’s a threat to the perfect life she wants for her perfect daughter (a life she didn’t get). she thinks rory is just like her and will go wild if she doesn’t shield her from it. she doesn’t get that rory will have her own experiences that she’s not familiar with and won’t understand. but she will. not everything in rory’s life will have something to do with lorelai’s. which leads me to…
”rory’s love interest xyz represents lorelai’s love interest xyz”
rory and lorelai’s love lives don’t mirror eachother, asp, because they are very different people who want very different things in partners and in life. someone being the best guy for lorelai doesn’t equal a younger version of that guy would be the perfect guy for rory. forced parallels are forced. because of her cold and wealthy childhood, lorelai wants a simple, humble life with a stable and loving guy. rory is drawn to intellectualism and travel, the unknown. different to what both lorelai wants and what the grandparents want (marriage between two freshly ivy league graduated people). i think you know what i’m sayinggg
”rory should have said yes to logan, she loved him”
if logan didn’t understand that this wasn’t something rory wanted, they didn’t have a stable enough foundation to build a life on anyways. yes, she loved him but she didn’t want to get married at 22. i don’t know why people wanted this for rory when it’s just as bad of an idea as dean or lane getting married young.
”jess was disrespectful to lorelai so she had the right to hate him”
ok he was but lorelai feeling entitled to talk to jess about how lucky he was to have been dumped with his uncle a couple of hours ago was just bad. that was not her place, and she shouldn’t have been surprised that he didn’t respond well. and it’s the way she goes about her disliking of him. i just can’t understand people who think an adult yelling at and openly snarking at a teen is anything but immature. i just watched the episode with dean’s ugly bracelet and her calling jess a ”little jerk” to his face is just crazy
”team lorelai/team rory”
i feel like people think that i don’t like lorelai because i’m on jess’ side when they fight but he’s just the exception. i think lorelai can be emotionally intelligent and i’m on her side with her parents, luke, her other bfs, sookie & michel etc. generally i enjoy her more than rory. but unlike a lot of the people who like lorelai, i don’t think she’s always right when she’s fighting with rory. it’s pretty 50/50. i don’t really have an opinion there. i don’t see them as being against each other. and during The Big Fight, i think everyone involved acted horribly. except for jess❤️ ok that’s it.

Slightly long post about parents in octopath 1 and 2. Or, the lack of parents for certain characters. I'm sick and tired and didn't double check any wiki pages for this so idk if any of it is incorrect
For most of the travelers, we know the deal with their parents. The only ones who we don't really hear about are Cyrus, Olberic, Therion, Castti and Osvald.
With Olberic and Therion, you can make an educated guess as to what happened to their parents (Olberic's died during the fall of Hornburg and Therion's are likely also dead)
And then I'm left wondering about the other three.
With Cyrus, we know almost nothing about his life pre story. He worked with Odette 10 years ago but that raises more questions because he was 20???? But just with the main story, you're left wondering if he has family and how they reacted to the pedo rumors. Did they think they were true? Did they see him off when he left Atlasdam?
I think Cyrus should be studied more cause. Man. His story is also very impersonal. Everyone deals with old friends/enemies or has something else deeply personal at stake and then there's Cyrus who did all that basically because he was bored. His story honestly would've worked a little better if he was maybe 10-15 years older but that's another discussion entirely.
Anyway, enough pretending like this post was supposed to be centered around Cyrus, I only mentioned him cause I needed to double check in my head if any ot1 travelers didn't really mention their parents in their stories. Realistically, he just doesn't talk to them very much and the pedo rumors put a strain on their relationship so he decided to just not think about it.
CASTTI AND OSVALD TIME.
Did Castti's parents know any of what was going on? Did they know she traveled Solistia and helped people?? Did they live in Healeaks? Were they apothecaries as well??? But more importantly, did Castti ever even remember them? One interpretation of her story is that because she only went to places she visited with Eir's apothecaries, she only remembers stuff related to them and her brain just never really went "oh crap I had a life outside of my work and buddies".
I think the most realistic answer is probably that she doesn't talk to them :c
Osvald.
Ok listen I don't really have a lot of complex thoughts on this one, mostly just copy pasted from Cyrus but with bigger stuff like "did they believe he killed Rita and Elena?"
LISTEN I need Elena to have grandparents. It's unlikely Rita's parents are alive because sheesh we all saw what happened to Alpates but Osvald is literally just some guy.
How did they react when he went to prison? Would they want to talk to him again after his story? If they disliked him, would they at least still love their granddaughter?? Please just give Elena grandparents who will spoil and take care of her, she deserves to have living family other than Osvald.

Despite lacking any autonomy, is it possible for Thundercracker to be spoiled? Like, he's highly treasured and could get anything he wants except freedom. So if Megatron starts a book/poetry club with him, only joking a little bit, maybe he could calm his house? Again, this all depends on how he's treated inside the aerie. Please let me know how he's actually treated!
And yessss Skywarp just going 🤩 upon realising it's actually the Megatron. I'm just getting this mental image of him nudging Starscream and going, "If I bond with you, does he become my concubine too?"
Ok ok hear me out 👀 the grand matriarchal trine of Thundercracker's family are his grandparents, and the trine leader is his grandmother. Let's just call her Permafrost (name not final), with her two mates Whiteout and Cirrus. Permafrost is typically an ice cold, incredibly shrewd, and strategic woman, but when it comes to her favorite grandsparks she's very protective. She loves Thundercracker very, very much, and only wants what's best for him: she won't have her favorite grandson being trined to someone who won't treat him with the love and respect he deserves, title as the crown prince be damned. And if the little upstart that's to be future Winglord can't be trusted not to stick it in a ground pounder, like hell does she want his tainted hands on her precious grandspark.
So yes! I like the idea of Thundercracker being very spoiled and doted on, but being unable to be free or truly control his life has him suffocating. The only way to salvage the engagement at this point would be to have him tell grandma Permafrost that he wants to trine to the prince. If he really, truly wanted it, she would concede, but as it stands now she's planning to call the whole thing off. If Megatron started a book club with Thundercracker 🥺 I think he'd be really happy. All high caste seekers are well read, naturally, but none really share TC's passion for it. He's an S-class bookworm and devours anything he can get his servos on, from adventure novels to sci-fi to horror to romance. A lot of it is considered improper or low-brow reading, so there's hardly anyone he can talk to about it.
Then Megatron comes along and recognizes one of the titles he's engrossed in--probably slipped away from the ball to get a break and finish the most recent chapter he was in--and they immediately hit it off. Thundercracker has stars in his optics pretty much the entire time, and when the two of them are found hours later, he's practically glowing. He's never had anyone to talk about his interests with, and certainly not someone who matches his enthusiasm. They lose track of time getting lost in their conversations, and when they're found, Thundercracker is practically walking on air. He's elated, the conversation was so invigorating and he leaves with a radiant smile on his face.
Permafrost has never seen him like this, no one has, not since he was very young. Thundercracker asks her to hold off on canceling the engagement, leaving them in a state of limbo. They're not out of the woods yet, he's not sure what he wants, but agrees to let Megatron (and Starscream) continue trying to win him over. It's a really weird reversal, of the royal line having to court and petition someone of lower status for their hand, but their relationship so far is anything but the norm 🤭 it's shaping up to be a proper courtship, and Thundercracker let's them set a date to meet with him again (for a coutship date, totally, definitely not the beginnings of a book club with Megatron, oh no, never 👀)
...
Now, for Skywarp. Starscream firmly tells him that no, Megatron wouldn't be their shared concubine. He's not some piece of shareware for them to pass around! That's the carrier of his children, thank you very much, and he won't have him disrespected and pawed at! Skywarp pouts about it, but takes it in stride. Says he'll continue the engagement if he gets access to Megatron too, as company if nothing else. They’re both aliens in the world of high society, so he feels smthn of an understanding kinship between them. He wants to hang out with his favorite gladiator, and even offers to keep him entertained while Starscream is schmoozing with Thundercracker. Little does he know TC wants to see the new concubine too 🤭

Cats and explanations under the cut
Mother and Kit: Speckletail and Snowkit
They didn't get enough time. They both deserved so much better. Would've loved to see Brackenfur mentor Snowkit and Speckletail being a proud mother. I also would've loved to see Speckletail showing everyone that her kit could be a warrior. It would've been such an inspiring story where she constantly loved and supported Snowkit which gave him the help and confidence he needed to become a great warrior. There was so much potential with them but Snowkit had to be killed off :/
Father and Kit: Crowfeather and Breezepelt
I know they're the worst, but I really liked them in Crowfeather's Trial. I enjoyed them slowly understanding and getting closer with each other. They'll never have an amazing relationship, but I like the one they built. Also I find it funny when Crowfeather former edgy boy cringes at Breezepelt being an edgy boy. It's interesting and amusing to see Crowfeather realize that Breezepelt is like him.
Grandparent and Grandkit: Crookedstar, Featherkit and Stormkit
I love thinking about them. Poor Crookedstar already lost so much family then he lost Silverstream. That must've been so sad, I understand here he wanted his grandkits. I love imagining him playing and spoiling them. He learned from the past not to ignore them because he's scared and grieving. So he gives them so much love, and in return the kits adore him.
Siblings: Leafpool and Squirrelflight
They're so different, but they still care so much about each other. Squirrelflight keeping Leafpool's secret and Leafpool supporting Squirrelflight when Bramblerstar is a jerk. These two have so much love and care for each other, and I really enjoy it. Not much to say because my words really can't explain it well enough.
Friendship: Needlepaw and Alderpaw
So I considered doing the og trio Firestar, Graystripe and Ravenpaw, but I've been reading AVOS, so I did these two instead. Their friendship was the best thing in The Apprentice's Quest. I loved Needlepaw being annoying yet caring to Alderpaw. She was reckless and overconfident, but she still helped him. She even helped ease his anxiety sometimes. Then Alderpaw gave her care back and the inclusivity she wanted. They had such a fun friendship really sad how it turned out.
Mentor and Apprentice: Yellowfang and Cinderpelt
Honestly don't remember these two that much, but Yellowfang has always been a favorite of mine (at least alive Yellowfang, she becomes awful in Starclan) and I really love Cinderpelt too. I love energetic excitable Cinderpelt tiring old grumpy Yellowfang out. I love Yellowfang having to keep Cinderpelt calm or having to tire her out. I love them comforting each other. I love Yellowfang supporting Cinderpelt after her accident and then sharing an understanding. Yellowfang wasn't the kindest, but she definitely cared for Cinderpelt. Cinderpelt was more fast paced, but she definitely realized that Yellowfang did care.
♂️♂️ Ship: Ravenpaw and Barley
Of fucking course these two are my favorite!!! Ravenpaw was always a favorite of mine, I related to him and felt so bad for him. He deserves love and happiness and Barley is perfect for that. Barley living alone at his barn finally gets some company. He slowly gets more used to Ravenpaw, and they get more vulnerable with each other. Together they heal from past trauma and find peace in each other. They are the other's rock and comforter. They have such a sweet relationship where they help steady and improve the other.
♂️♀️Ship: Fernsong and Ivypool
They're really sweet together. I know Fernsong was only shown having that one line, but I still imagine him being the first nursery king. I love Ivypool enjoying patrols and hunts but always checking up on her mate and kits. Honestly I think a lot of my favs are more interesting in my head than the books but that's not stopping me from putting them on here. Anyways Ivypool and Fernsong are sweethearts who knows how to always support and soothe the other.
♀️♀️Ship: Feathertail and Tawnypelt
These two compliment each other well. Feathertail being more reserved while Tawnypelt is more outgoing. Feathertail being more gentle while Tawnypelt is more rough. Despite their differences they both are loyal and caring cats. They would have a good relationship, I'm sad we didn't get to see more of them together. I like to imagine that Tawnypelt fell for Feathertail when she helped her after the rats. Then maybe after Feathertail would start to fall in love too. Also they'd be over to bond over their trauma and heal together which I love.
If you read through all of that here's some 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪

what happens to summiya's kids??
That’s… a very good question, actually. We haven’t really figured out anything too specific or extensive yet, but the basic gist is that when Liba and Abyan are close to 15 and 14 respectively, they run away, thus exacerbating their mother’s breakdown. They’re sheltered spoiled rich kids who have no idea how the world works, with all their good intentions and sympathy for the lower classes, so having to rough it out for a while is definitely extremely hard for them. They soon make it to the only place they can stay without too many questions being asked – one of the Air Temples, the same one Aiza/Emran considers their home, but they don’t meet immediately because not long before they showed up, Emran set off on a year-long self discovery journey.
The kids meanwhile try their best to help in the Temple and surrounding villages, learning everything they can. Abyan is more eager, with fire in his eyes and a deep desire to help people, though he believes that he’s automatically a better person that his parents or grandparents because he discarded the rich life and ran away and thus struggles for quite a while to understand that he actively has to put in effort to be good. But he’s still a kid, one raised to believe that he essentially owns the world, so him struggling to see the perspectives of other people and failing at household chores is understandable. He’ll get better with time, I can promise that much. Liba is a lot more quiet and demure, very self conscious of her birth mark and believes that no matter how hard she tries, she can never be good enough (thanks a lot, Summiya…). She too struggles with chores and often fails to see the value of money, but she’s more grounded than Abyan and is more meticulous and careful with her work. But most of all she absolutely thrives on praise, lighting up whenever someone thanks her or calls her pretty. She deserves to be appreciated more often :)
After a while they do meet Emran and find out that he’s their mother’s sibling (it’s not too hard, really, given that Liba looks scarily like him, but it still takes hearing his female name to realise) and it’s where opinions start splitting. To Abyan, he’s the cool uncle who said “fuck you” to the system and is now free to do whatever he wants, he becomes an almost idolised figure for the kid, though not to the level Zaheer is. Liba, though, is a bit more drawn to Aiza when she’s female presenting, not out of bigotry if any kind (though given how they were raised, it takes a while for the two of them to understand what being genderfluid means and that it’s perfectly okay) but because she sees a parallel to herself, a girl always second to Summiya who ran away from home to avoid a marriage, and Aiza is the only person she can be honest with about missing her mother despite everything she’s done. Abyan has seemingly discarded all hope that his parents could change and thinks Liba is weird for still loving Mother when that woman made her hate herself. It’s something they’ll have to get over eventually, and it sure won’t be easy, unfortunately
As for what happens on the next fifteen or so years before the events of the canon show… I don’t know, honestly. I like to think they stay at the Air Temple until they’re of age and then move on somewhere else to figure out what it is they want from life and to see more of the world. And at some point in those years they do reunite with their mother, as does Aiza, and it takes A LOT of time and effort to build a better relationship with her, but they manage eventually. Their father can go fuck himself, though (not like he can still afford to pay anyone else to do it…)
#sorry for taking so long with the asks. I have a lot going on#but I thought I’d sit and and get this one out of the way while Honey was napping#she’s awake now so I have to go deal with her :)#thanks for the ask though!!#I adore these kids <3#and I’m sure soon enough we’ll figure out something more concrete for them#the legend of korra#Kat and Nia and their multiverse of madness#original characters#liba and abyan#also. wouldn’t be a post about this family without some good old clowning on Himman :D

Some of my favorite mama toph hcs are
Toph visiting Aang's house for whatever reason and momo being her little bodyguard and curling up around her belly. When Lin and Suyin are born and are brought to visit not even a couple of weeks after theyre born momo immediately knows who they are and curls up next to them to protect them and loves them so much
Lao and Poppy buying a ridiculous amount of clothes and blankets and baby equipment before and after lin and suyin are born
Iroh getting emotional when being handed newborn Lin and later Suyin and holding them and realizing how much time had passed and how the little 12 yo girl he met years ago had children of her own
happy new year
Hi Anon, thank you for the ask!
Pls I love these mama Toph headcanons! I also feel like these headcanons can apply to any AU, whether you prefer Toph as a single mom or in a relationship, these just fit perfectly!
I always liked Momo and Toph’s mini relationship, they seemed like good buddies in the show, so thinking that Momo and Toph still shared a bond years later is double adorable. But yes I agree that Momo loves chilling on Toph’s belly, either to monitor those who pass by her or to take a little nap with Toph. Sometimes when Momo is flying off and doing his own thing, he’ll go to Toph’s place for a bit to hang out and curl up with her.
And Momo loves snuggling with babies in general. They’re tiny and warm and cuddly and they’re adorable! But there’s something about Toph’s kiddos that makes him love them so much and is so protective. And while Lin was an easier baby and enjoyed being curled up next to Momo, Suyin was a bit fussier, so it took her some time to warm up to the lemur. But if anyone was to hold her or cuddle with her, she’d want her Mama or Momo and that was it. With Su, let’s just say Momo was a frequent flyer in the Beifong house lol! Toph loves how good he is with the girls, though.
Lao and Poppy definitely splurge on their grand babies, especially because I don’t think they ever considered being grandparents once Toph reached a certain age. So now that there are babies to spoil, they do it. Toph always complains that they are buying too many things for the girls, but Lao and Poppy always argue back that they have an incredible amount of money that is of little use to them in the afterlife, so they plan to spend it all on the babies. Toph rolls her eyes a bit, but she’s grateful that her parents are being supportive. (This is of course in an AU where Lao and Poppy are good/better parents, but it’s my go-to that the Beifong’s are happy because they deserve it LOL).
And pls Iroh most definitely would get emotional holding the Beifong babies, and I think Lin would especially hit him hard. He loves everyone in the Gaang and they all hold a place in his heart, but I think that the quality time that Iroh spent with Toph initially is a very fond memory for him. And so knowing that the same girl who said that she could handle things on her own and didn’t need help, has a little baby of her own? It just moves him deeply and he admires the woman that stands in front of him, and her newborn baby.
Such great Mama Toph headcanons, and a perfect way to begin the new year! Thank you so much for sending these in, Anon. I do love hearing about Toph headcanons :D Hope your new year is off to a good start and that you have a great day!
……
Send me asks about ATLA, LOK, or anything! :D

Hello! I wanted to make an ask about a what-if that was floating around in my head for a while (like 2 days.)
The “what-if” being a scenario in which a cub appears in the little dawn au form the future. Only that the cub is not Wukong’s and Macaques, it’s trafficlights trio’s future cub. (They can be from an alternate universe in which MK stay’s in sundown au or from somewhere else.)
What would be everyone’s reaction to the future grandchild/child? Personally I think their personality would be a lot like young MK or Mei (maybe a bit like macaque seeing as they probably spend a lot of time with their grandma?) and that they would be really spoiled by their grandparents and pearents.
I see the child as a female and closer to a bull demon in appearance (cus ya know, their from the demon bull clan? They kinda have to be a bull to fit in?) but honestly it could be what ever you want. (Imagine if they had the face markings like Mk’s side of the fam? Or maybe their hair is black like Mei’s?!)
As for how the child even came to be, I would say that it was through some weird magic (maybe they inserted all their power into a stone? Blood rituals/magic???)
OMG, what if the child traveled back in time to meet their Maba (bama? Baba? Papa?) MK because for what ever reason something happed to MK and he can no longer be around! Maybe he was killed! Idk, at this point I’m rambling.
Sorry for the long ask. I originally didn’t know where to send this because there are like, two blogs making posts about sundown AU and I didn’t know who I should be sending this to (but because Xiaodan is from you fic “little dawn” I decided to send this to you.)
chapter 11 was a bomb (I just finished it before sending this) and if you want you can ignore this entire ask, just tell me if you do so I don’t end up expecting anything or smt (or don’t, you can do whatever you want.)
Thank you for reading this silly and kinda dumb rambling, I honestly don’t even remember what the original ask was but thank you for reading through all this. Have a lovely day or night filled with unending joy and kind thoughts. You are appreciated and I am so great full you took time out of your life to write your stories and read through this whole thing.
Bye bye 👋
Hello there! Don’t apologize about the length of l the ask. I love to see people getting excited over this amazing AU (belonging to peachshadows/terrible-leviathan, please don’t hold off on giving them some love they deserve the world for their creativity). To clarify, the Sundown Era is their creation while Little Dawn, a fluffier spin off the AU, was expanded on by me with the fic.
As for the scenario, I’d theorize that there would be a lot of chaos. If this is happened during the Little Dawn setting with MK already dropping into the world, SD!Shadowpeach would be thrilled at the idea of another cub/calf to spoil and look forward to - also cementing their time travel theory. SD!Ironbull would he similarly doting while also pushing for the wedding sooner. I mean, it’s obviously going to happen so why not sooner?
Red Son would be flustered and over the moon at the same time at the confirmation of a child and would do his best to “prove” his ability to childrear in front of MK. I feel like Mei would think the kid is cute but also be a little nervous? She’s not at the point in life where she’s ready for a kid. Would still spoil and play with the baby, though.
As for MK? He’s just worried that another universe is missing their kid. He’s stressed and worried for not one, but two babies that don’t belong. He would be flustered about the implications of the baby’s existence if he wasn’t already in a difficult position.
Thanks for this fun ask! And thank you for reading Little Dawn!

While cleaning up the other day I came across an extra invitation from one of the only birthday parties I was allowed to invite my friends to as a child. The only reason I have it is, because much like that day and the memory, it was messed up and couldn't be handed out.
My birthday always fell during winter break. Because of this, after preschool ended, I was usually only allowed to invite my cousins. Little me couldn't understand why. Everyone else got to have their friends over, even if the party wasn't on their actual birthday. So one time, my mom obliged. She planned a party at a Disney store, one of the only ones in our area at the time; it also had a cafe in it and I used to love their "fancy" french fries (they were the first seasoned fries I had ever had and little seven year old me thought they were the best thing ever). She let me pick the theme and the invitations and the cake plates.
I was obsessed with 101 Dalmatians at the time, so that's what I went with. We carefully filled out the invitations, omitting the one that got messed up, and my mom drilled it into me to make sure I handed them out at school. The day before winter break was to begin, I stood in front of the class and told everyone that they were invited and gave all of my class the cards. My class at pretty small so this wasn't that big of a deal at the time. I was so proud of myself, since I was very shy and hated speaking in class. Plus I had a stutter and had practiced and managed for once to speak clearly. It felt like a big achievement to me.
Day of the party, several days after my actual birthday because at the time nothing was open on that day, we get there early and set up. I'm dressed up nice, because my mom insisted, with my hair manhandled into a hair style I hate but I was too excited to care. Slowly, people started to arrive. First my grandparents. Then my cousins and my aunt and uncle. Then two of my friends and their parents. I'm beyond thrilled and running around with everyone having fun.
An hour past the party start time and no one else has yet to show up. The people working there tell my mom that they can't wait any longer and the food needs to come out or we need to forfit the money and leave. So we sit down to eat. I think everything is great. I'm getting to share something I like with people I like and I'm getting an actual party like you see on TV. Tiny me is having the day of her life.
My mom, on the other hand, is silent and fuming. From what my grandma told me later, they did refund her the unused portion of the food even though the policy was to not. Guess they felt bad that only half the prepaid meals got eaten. I open presents and got some plushie dalmatians and just noticed none of this. I was happy.
After the party ended, my grandma wanted to walk around the mall for a bit. I was excited to show her around because she never really drove this far unless it was for family events and I hadn't seen her in a while (I would wind up living permanently with her about a year after this, but that's a different story). There was a store that sold "country inspired decor" and people's homemade craft projects. My grandma, who did spoil me quite often, bought me a fox doll (just a plush red fox that sat like a human) as an extra present. I was on cloud nine by the time my mom and I returned to our car to start the long drive home.
It's important to note that my stepfather refused to come because he didn't think kids deserved parties of any kind. Had he been there, there would have been nothing happy about this day to remember.
We start driving. I'm happily chatting away about the day and how much I loved it and thanking her and just, for the first time in a long time, happy.
My mom lit into me. She spent the next hour and a half of that drive screaming at me about how I lied about handing out the invitations. About how I embarrassed her and ruined all her hard work. About how much time and money she spent to do this and I ruined it. I cried most of the way home as she kept spitting more and more hate at me. She wouldn't listen to my explaining over and over how I did give it the invitations. The screaming felt never-ending.
She didn't speak to me for the rest of the break.
Come the end of winter break, on the first day back at school, my teacher comes running out to the car as soon as my mom pulls up to drop me off. She has a stack of papers in her hands. " I'm so sorry!" she said, holding them. "I forgot to double check if the children remembered to take everything home with them. I found these in most of the desks this morning. I hope there was a problem."
In her hands is the invitations for the kids who didn't show up. My mom refused to look at me and just quietly thanked her and took them. I told her "I told you I gave them out" and ran from the car.
I was never allowed to have another birthday party with friends after that. It was family only or nothing. And honestly, that was the last fun birthday I remember. I still have that fox doll but not the dalmatians. I only kept what had good memories attached to it. Except that invitation. I'm keeping that for now. I'll probably burn it some day and be done with it.
#memories#birdy family story time#this was in the days before cellphones and email were common#my mom should have followed up with the parents though#she worked with kids and should have known better than to trust a bunch of seven year olds lol

Self-Reflection: The Feeling of Falling in Love
I just finished The Feeling of Falling in Love by Mason Deaver. I have thoughts...
Here there be spoilers!
If someone were to ask me to elevator pitch The Feeling of Falling in Love, I would say it feels like a queer Clueless.
When it comes to comparisons with Deaver’s novel, some of the overlaps are obvious. The main characters are both spoiled, rich California teens who are forced to come to grips with their class privilege. Both are insufferable until the events of their story force them to be vulnerable with the audience.
But I think there’s a nuance here that is different, and that’s how suffering can shape character.
As is well known, Clueless is a modern day re-telling of Jane Austen’s Emma. But it should be noted that one of the key aspects of Emma’s character is that she lives “nearly twenty-one years in the world with little to distress or vex her.” In other words: she’s insufferable because she has never suffered.
Here is where Neil Kearney differs as a protagonist. Because—despite his class privilege—he has genuinely suffered from transphobia on a general scale (as is shown by a scene where he is humiliated in a TSA line at the airport) as well as a personal one (grandparents who repeatedly deadname him and call his transition a phase).
Like Emma, Neil is a self-centered character. But it’s because he’s isolated. He’s taken self-care to the extreme by shutting out everyone else and refusing to see things from any other perspective but his own.
Neil’s journey is one of learning how to get over himself. Not because he deserves how he’s been treated or because others are somehow justified, but because he needs to learn that locking ourselves up with our own hurt isn’t the answer. When we do, all that happens is that we trap ourselves within a hall of mirrors. All our pain is reflected back onto ourselves, fully distorted for maximum injurious effect.
I did wonder in reading the outcome of the storylines with Neil’s mother and brother if there was a danger of interpreting the message as “forgive transphobes.” But I really don’t think that’s Deaver’s point. The lesson that Neil needs to learn time and again is that his own perspective is limiting, that he may have mistaken the intentions of others. Which doesn’t negate the pain that they inflicted upon him. Rather, it changes the approach going forward. A well-intentioned person can be taught, communicated with, and moved along in a way that a genuine bigot can’t. Furthermore, making assumptions about the identities of others can silence closeted people, as Neil found with his lovely partner-elect, Wyatt (a nonbinary person who felt comfortable embracing their identity after Neil’s example).
So the novel turns out to be a journey that reminds us which kind of self-reflection we need to be engaging in. Too much seeking reinforcement of our own prejudices can create an echo chamber that warps and limits our world. But critically testing our own limitations can allow us to grow beyond our confines. As uncomfortable as it is, all of us--no matter how we identify--can benefit from questioning how we approach the wider world.
So while like Jane Austen’s Emma Woodhouse, Neil is a hero “no one but myself may much like,” I’m over here giving him credit for doing the hard work. Homophobia and transphobia leave deep wounds. But if we allow the infection to spread, we’ll find ourselves just as sick as the people who do us harm.

It's like Rory anti's literally spin anything to try to prove she's the "worst" or to convince themselves why they hate her and they are nothing but stupid reasons. If I have to hear "Rory had everything handed to her" or "Rory is a spoiled brat" or "Rory is the worst because she dropped out of Yale and can't handle criticism" I'm gonna lose it!
She did not have everything handed to her. She worked her ass off to get into Yale and worked super hard towards her goals. Anyone who thinks "Rory has everything handed to her" did you not watch seasons 1-3 where she worked herself so hard where all she wanted to do was study and read or do extra curriculars to get into Yale? She worked herself so hard to the point her first boyfriend started getting jealous because she would work towards her education instead of spending time with him. She got accepted because she deserved to be there. She didn't get there from her grandparents money they helped pay where she was PAYING BACK! It was a LOAN! Her grandparents didn't just hand out money to her to buy her way into Yale like Logan's parents did she worked hard for it!
She was not a "spoiled brat" either she grew up in a garden shed and the small town of Stars Hollow and even when people tried to put her on a pedestal she fought back she hated how the town and everybody was towards her. Even when she dropped out and was staying in the pool house SHE WAS WORKING! She was not a spoiled brat she was always super grateful for the things people do for her, and even did so much for everyone around her. If anyone needed anything Rory was constantly there for them. Even when Paris was mean to her she was nothing but nice and patient with her and if she ever needed anything Rory was always there for her. I love Paris I'm not attacking her but Rory was always there for Paris even when she wasn't so nice to Rory. She did everything her mother or grandparents asked of her because she didn't want to disappoint them but if Rory has a knee jerk emotional response the fandom is like "oh she's a spoiled brat" instead of understanding that she is just human and messes up sometimes, or in a bad emotional state, but eventually she does come to her senses about most things after she's had space to think things over.
If you hate her for taking a break from Yale that's just so stupid. Lots of people take breaks from school because they aren't sure what they want to do. In Rory's case all she has ever wanted was to be a journalist and having someone so high up in the industry tells you that you don't have what it takes or you aren't good enough is soo crushing! Most people would be so hurt by it, and that was all Rory has ever known and when Mitchum told her that she was so discouraged and needed a break to figure things out and that's perfectly okay. Think if you were in Rory's shoes and someone tell you that you don't have what it takes to achieve your dream how would you react? I'm so amazed how people can't have a lick of compassion over that situation, to add icing on the cake her mom...I love Lorelai but she literally cut her off when she was in a bad emotional crisis and she needed her mom during that time, and that really crushed her more. I'm currently going through a situation like Rory at the moment and I can attest that it's so fucking relatable what Rory was going through. When I first started going to school for the program I was on my counselor also didn't think I had what it took and it hurt and when I started taking the courses it did end up being really hard, and I have been in a burn out and have been struggling with depression and I just needed a break. I got to a point of thinking is this something that I still want to do because everything just feels so uncertain right now. She is literally the most relatable character ever. I love her so much and I can't take these stupid takes that people have to hate her. It's like people will find any reason to hate her and I'm over it!

Female characters in retro shojo [70s edition, part 1]
Ah, the 1970s (and early 80s), where a majority of the shojo manga stories took place in a distant European country or in America, surrounding either orphan girls from the 19th or early 20th century, who remain cheerful and have adventures, trying to find out who they are, making friends and falling in love, or epic historical stories filled with war, scandals and larger than life characters. If the manga was taking place in Japan, the plot was somehow more down to earth -though most of the time it restrained the same amount of unrealism- and it was either about following the journey of a girl who pursues the career of her dreams and evolves into a notable person, or a high school story filled either with melodrama and angst or a more heartwarming romantic comedy. But in this two-part article I won’t talk about plot tropes of the shojo manga of that era -as this topic deserves an exclusive article-, but about the female characters (I will dedicate an article on male characters some other time). Those characters are very important, as they set the standards of today’s manga and anime. But it should be noted that back then the formula of their design and characteristics are different from today’s. Those are the categories that I’ve noticed, regarding the appearance and personality.
The “average” protagonists
They are the most common category. Usually, they come from middle class and they are presented either as cheerful and a little dense schoolgirls, or plain looking and unrefined, as oppose to their antagonists or rivals who are well educated, beautiful and more talented, but this may serve as a determination for them to improve. Other times they are presented as headstrong heroines, ahead of their time, who refuse to compromise and for this they are a pain to their old-fashion society. Either way, they are kind, good, well-intentioned and want to help the others, that’s why they make friends easily. The thing that really works with these characters and makes them much more interesting than they may seem, is that they are independent and built their future on their own and they never give up, no matter what happens and what someone might say about them. Even when they are not sure of themselves, they always keep trying, until they reach to their dream. They use their obstacles as strength and determination to go on, proving that they are not average at all.
Maya, the protagonist of “Glass Mask” is a great example of this. She starts as a good-for-nothing daughter of a poor family, who isn’t particularly accomplished, but has a hidden passion for acting which she hadn’t realise it herself at that point. But when she is discovered by Tsukigake, a former legendary actress, she realises how much she wants to be an actress to a point that she lied saying that her mother allowed her to study to sensei’s acting school and ran away from home. Not even when her mother told her that she doesn’t consider her as her daughter anymore, she didn’t gave up, in spite of being very hurt by this. Her path towards acting wasn’t easy. Many times she has to face many who say that she doesn’t belong to that industry, or who are jealous of her talent and means her harm, but with her faith in herself, she always overcomes those obstacles. An admirable thing about her is that she dislikes fame, being shy, as she just wants to act and that she does not gives up, no matter what and even when she does, she quickly stands up. The most interesting dynamic of the story is her worthy rivalry with Ayumi, that is clearly a case of the trope “technician vs performer”, with Maya as the performer, as her standard method to learn how to play a character is to become that character. As the story progresses, Maya evolves from a girl with a hidden talent, to a young actress who portraits an original take to classic characters, but who still had much to learn, to one of the greatest actresses of her generation.
In “Yokohama Monogatari”, Uno starts as a plain, poor, orphan girl, who is ignorant about the world, as she hasn’t even seen the sea before and she believed that westerners were vampires who could drink people’s blood, that’s why they had blonde hair and blue eyes. She starts to work as a companion in a rich family to their daughter Mariko, who is the same age as her. Besides their differences, they become quickly best friends. While Mariko is a little spoiled, Uno, despite of her ignorance of world, can be more considerate and responsible in some matters. She also has a lust for learning and soon her and Mariko pursuade her family to go to school. There, she meets many people, among them there are a few foreigners too, she makes a lot of friends, and she excels at all of her studies, being hardworking. As the years passed by, Japan changes and allows exchange of ideas from many cultures -it’s Meiji era we are taking about, that means the last quarter of the 19th century- and Uno evolves from a poor, -many would say- hopeless for her situation, clueless of the world girl, to an open minded, educated and refined woman, surrounded by many people she loves.
In “Tokimeki Tonight”, Ranze -well except of being the daughter of Dracula and warewolf and having her own vampire powers as well- is an average girl who is friendly, sweet and little quirky girl who goes to school and falls in love with Shuun. Some may say that she is pretty basic, but in fact, she knows her self worth well, so even when her parents were disappointed with her not having any power yet, at the beginning of the story, she wasn’t particularly bothered by it. Also she is very headstrong that she falls in love with a human boy, while she knows well that a creature from the demon world and a human cannot be together. But in spite of all of that, she decides to stay true to her own feelings and even though she’s not so sure about Shuun’s feelings for her either, she doesn’t give up and waits for him, because she hopes and deep down knows that he likes her too and she is right. And even when her parents want her to marry prince Aaron of the demon world and even the king- learn that she likes a human, in spite of that being against the rules, she isn’t afraid to stand up for her beliefs. Later though, we learn that Shuun is the lost prince of the demon world, so he is not a human after all, but that’s another story.
In “Aim For The Ace”, Hiromi is a typical schoolgirl who struggles to get better in tennis, when she gets selected as one of the club’s main players in school by the new coach, as he saw potential in her. Some of her seniors are jealous of her because of that and at first she thinks that she is not worth such a discrimination, but soon she improves and realises how much she loves tennis. There’s also a very similar rivalry dynamic with “glass mask” between Hiromi and Reika who grow to be worthy opponents.
In “Haikara San Ga Toru”, Benio is a headstrong young woman who studies Kendo, drinks sake and prefers reading literature and feminist ideas, rather than being interested in housework. She also likes to dress in western clothes, rather than the traditional kimono and strongly believes that women should have the right to decide for their future on their own and they should marry for love. But her world turns upside down when her father announces that he has arranged a marriage for her. The one that he indends for her is someone she knew before, very briefly and accidentally, a lieutenant named Shinobu. Of course, she refuses, being loyal to her ideals and she goes out of her way to avoid him, just to satisfy her pride, in spite of actually starting developing feelings for him. When she moves to his grandparents’ house to get prepared as his wife, she purposely fails in all of her duties as a housewife and constantly argues with his grandparents, but all of that only makes Shinobu fall for her even more. It’s only when he leaves to go to the war, when she realises her feelings for him and during at that time when everyone thought that he was dead, she matured and became even stronger, remaining loyal to him and determined to work as a journalist to support his family, but also tracking him down, hoping that he’s still alive. Of course, at the very end, they live happily ever after together. Benio’s character development is admirable; starting as a clever, but headstrong girl, to an independent and wise woman, proving that you don’t have to disagree with everyone in order to prove that you are the one who chooses how to live your own life.
The villains
Their extreme pride and vain is their common nature. Most of the times they come from a wealthy family, so they are either oujo-sans who are always dressed elegantly, are seemingly refined and they tend to have curly, blonde hair -as blonde hair seem to be associated with wealth and sophistication in Japan-, or they are just spoiled brats that demand that everyone will do as they say. They are the main antagonist of the story for different reasons. The most common one is that they are jealous of the heroine, either because they are their love rivals and they are jealous of the heroine’s relationship with the love interest of the story, or because they are just pathologically jealous of the heroine because of her looks, her happiness, her luck and her loving nature. Another reason they act the way they do is because they want power and success, or they just want to secure all of that. The worse and least complex reason of all is that they are just mean for no particular reason.
Eliza, from “Candy Candy” is the typical alpha b*tch who is pathologically jealous of Candy. At first, she along with her brother, makes her life miserable, by blaming her for the bad things they do, such as hurting the horses in the stables, provoking her and then telling to their mother that she’s wild and leaving her alone in a town she doesn’t know and locking her in dark rooms. After that, during their time in London, Eliza says to everyone that Candy is an orphan who made her life miserable, even blaming her for Antony’s death. Later, having the habit of falling in love with the one that Candy likes too, school, she falls for Terry and constantly tries to turn him against her, failing miserably. She also writes a fake letter to her that it was supposedly from Terry and to Terry too, to meet each other in the stables at night and with this, she blabs them to the teachers and Candy, having no choice, leaves school. Later, when Candy was pursuing a career as a nurse, she continues her cruel ways and her mother also threats the director of the hospital where she was working, that if they won’t fire her, the Leagan family will withdraw their funds for the hospital and she also made sure that no hospital from Chicago will hire her, leaving Candy in a difficult situation. Those are only of few of the things that Leagan family did to Candy. The worst part is that they don’t pay for what they did at the end.
Fukiko from “Oniisama e” fits well this image; She is a refined lady from a rich family, the president of the sorority and very educated, that’s why she is admired by everyone. However, in reality she is manipulative, proud and very possessive. She wants to control everyone and she’s even willing to go out of her way to achieve what she wants. For instanse, she’s jealous of Nanako because she is close to Henmi Takehito, the one that she (Fukiko) is in love with, so to control her, she chooses her to be a member of the sorority and demands that she will stay away from him, even by pulling her into the lake and attempt to drown her . She also makes Rei’s life miserable, by stepping into her weakness, refuse to accept her as a member of their family and constantly manipulating her with the cruelest of ways. Also, it’s revealed that her friends from the sorority are feeling pressured because of her. Later, with the death of Rei, along with her realisation that Henmi and Kaoru No Kimi are truly in love, surprisingly, she regrets, gives up on her cruel ways and matures, growing even more beautiful for all of that.
Yoko from “Tokimeki Tonight” is a different case. She is the love rival of the story and the have loved Shuun ever since they were little. Being the only daughter of a rich businessman, she is spoiled and when something doesn’t go as she wants, she is is angry and demands that everything will go the way she wants. She envies Ranze for her close relationship with Makabe and ever since she accidentally saw her transforming, she tried desperately to prove others that she (Ranze) is a vampire. Her character is less dramatic and more comedic, as she is often grumpy and clumsy. But she isn’t really a bad person and she doesn’t really cause an awful lot of trouble.
In “The Rose of Versailles”, Madam Du Barry, the king’s mistress, wants to sustain her place in the court and demands that Marie Antoinette, who was at that time the dauphine, will speak to her. She also have tried to poison one of the court ladies. Countess De polignag becomes the queen’s best friend, for her own benefits and manipulates her without her (Marie Antoinette) knowing, like telling her to lie about being pregnant and also persuade her to start gambling in the court, which was illegal. She’s also Rosalie’s biological mother and accidentally kills the woman which raised her daughter and she’s the reason that her other daughter suicides, because she cannot handle the marriage the she arranged for her. Besides of her daughter’s death, she doesn’t seem to regret for any of her actions as she tries to make Rosalie merry the same man. Luckily Rosalie escapes. Also, she tried to sabotage Oscar many times and all this was just for the sake of power and money.
In “Glass Mask”, Norie Otobe, befriends Maya and she is supposedly her assistant, but in reality she just waits for the right moment to strike and steal Maya’s role and career. Unfortunately, she succeeds and it costs a lot for Maya, for a while. Luckily Ayumi discovers this and punishes her with the best way ever.
The tomboys
They are either mysterious, or lively, but one thing is for sure; they are dressed in clothes that are considered to be “manly”, they are handsome and they are constantly mistaken for a boy. They are also very elegant and educated and their image is that of a prince. That’s why they are admired by both women and men. Some may say that even though they are trying to be like a man, they are still weak, but they point out that just because they dress more “tomboyish”, doesn’t mean that it makes them less of a woman. After all, when they want to, they can transform into the most feminine girl of all. They also prove that their sexuality is not associated with their looks, as a “masculine” girl has the same possibilities of being heterosexual or homosexual, with a more “feminine” one. So, they break all the stereotypes regarding women. Many times, they are portrayed as headstrong heroines who stand up for their beliefs and their friends.
The most famous character that supports this image is Oscar from “the Rose of Versailles”. Oscar is one of the daughters of the Jerjeyes household. Not having any son, her father decided to raise her as a boy so that one day she will succeed him. Oscar dresses in boys’ clothes and learns activities like fencing and archery. When she was fourteen, she was tasked to serve as Marie Antoinette’s bodyguard. The manga often pointed out how different those two were regarding appearance and character, even if they were in the same age. Oscar has a strong sense of justice and she always protects the weak and is not afraid to challenge someone that she believes that isn’t right. Of course, she is admired by men and women alike and she is also a great and loyal friend. At one point she falls in love with Fersen, who loves Marie Antoinette. But because of her respect for the queen and her love of Fersen, she helps them, despite being heartbroken. At the end, she realises that she loves her childhood friend, Andre. She loves medieval combat, drinking heavy drinks, talking about politics and playing violin. Many pointed out that being a woman she was weaker but she always proved them wrong, pointing out that women can do anything and that it doesn’t matter if you are a man or a woman, only how skilful you are. She was hiding her femininity not because she wanted to be a man, but because that if she acted like a woman, the society might think that she was weak and she wouldn’t be able to have the access and the freedom to do what women normally wouldn’t do back then, because women were alowed to limited things. In the early 1970s, by the time this manga was ongoing, the second wave of feminism had already started and women started fighting for equal legal and social rights, so Oscar’s character was influenced by all this.
Rei from “Oniisama e”, is admired by her fellow classmates and is also called “saint Juste”, named after one of the leaders from French Revolution, due to her physical resemblance to him. She is very charismatic, excelling to sports, piano, guitar and theatre, she is very elegant and dresses often in a black suit. Unfortunately she is drug-addict, she smokes and can be suicidal, carrying always pills and a sharp object with her. She is also obsessed with Fukiko, the sorority’s president, for many reasons, causing her to be controlled and abused by her. She also lives alone in a depressing house filled with mirrors and this also causes to be depressed. Her best friend is Kaoru no Kimi, who’s also a tomboy, but they are entirely different and she befriends Nanako and her friends. In the end she suicides, taking too many sleeping pills, having everyone, especially Nanako, left devastated.
Also from “Oniisama e”, Kaoru, is a tomboy who is strong and energetic. She is athletic and excels at basketball, but she is also very cool and doesn’t seem to care that she is the best at something that she’s doing, that’s why she is admired by her fellow classmates who gave her the nickname “Kaoru no Kimi”, from a Japanese classical novel; “the tale of Genji”. She also has a great sense of justice, as when she sees classmates being bullied, she defends them and put the bullies on their place. She is also very loyal and supportive and cares deeply about her friends, helping them when they are in need, especially her best friend, Rei, for whom she is very concerned. But in spite of her energetic appearance, she suffers from breast cancer and tries to keep it a secret, pretending that she is healthy and that everything is under control. But in fact, she pushes away her beloved, Henmi Takehito, concealing her true feelings, in order for him to be happy without her and not suffer anymore, showing how selfless she is and how much she loves him to a point of sacrificing her own feelings. At the end, it pays off and they end up together, living happily.
Another honourable mention is Rei, from “Glass Mask”. Rei is the older student of Tsukikage sensei’s company and one of Maya’s best friends. She is a tomboy who wears those characteristic 70s jeans and for some reason is mistaken by a boy -much to her dislike-, despite of being obvious that she is a girl. Being an actress, she can transform into a beautiful princess in no time, but she also portraits very well a prince. In the first volumes, she portrayed Jo, from “little women” which was a role very suited for her. As a sister figure for Maya, she is loyal, friendly and the responsible one who helps the theatre company stay organised and is a very strict teacher to Maya, helping her because she knows her potential. Also from “Glass Mask”, Keiko from the “Ikkakuju group” is also mistaken as boy, but she can transform into a pretty princess in no time.
Note: At the first half of the 20th century “Little Women” were very popular in Japan, particularly Jo, who was tomboyish and outspoken and her character had inspired the first female mangakas of the 60s for their stories and characters.

MY BOI GOLDIE, Y E S
Sorry, moving on. I'm very sorry it has taken so long, I was just kind of unmotivated about it? But I got around to it, and without further ado. Thats a lie
Hope ya like it.
Also, since Goldie is an anamatronic and doesn't have siblings, I'll just make it with the nightguards younger siblings.
Yandere with a younger sister. [BNHA/CREEPYPASTA/FNAF]
[HEADCANONS][FEMALE][PLANTONIC]
When he finds out the scum he calls father had another child, behind his mothers back?
He is furious. He hates his father even more now. And more than anything, he hates you.
His mother never deserved anything that happened to her, and she definitely didn't deserve the fucker cheating on her.
Then he tracks you down. He wants to kill you. He won't let his mother find out about it, ever.
And then he meets you.
So innocent, unknowing of his fathers cruelty.
Safe, safe from the horrors of the world.
And he wants to protect that. Protect you. With every fiber oof his body.
So he'll intredouce himself you your mother first. Get her to adore him like her own son. And then she'll intreduce the two of you.
And he'll make sure you adore him.
You got his father's quirk? He'll teach you how to use fire.
Your mothers? He'll show of his quirk, watch as your eyes light up because of him.
He'll make sure he becomes your favorite person in the whole world.
He's very protective, but he won't kill the people who harm you, no.
He'll go to their houses, speak with their parents.
He's famous, for both the sports festival, and being the number ones son.
And he hates his father, but won't be afraid to use that mans status for his own benefit.
He'll also spoil you like crazy with his dads credit card.
You get anything you want, anything at all.
New clothing? Food? Snacks? Wanna go shopping? Want to see a movie? Vacation?
Of course, he'll make sure to stay on your moms good side, so she won't stop letting him see you.
Even if she did, he would kill her.
And then custody would go to his dad, and he would keep you with him and as far away from his dad or any of his siblings as he could.
He'll make sure nobody ever wants to date you. Ever.
He isn't quite ready to share you with any other person yet.
Mabye one day he will, but you better not forget him.
Then he'll/she'll/they'll get in an... accident.
Also, he wants matching outfits with you.
Won't be afraid to show how cute you are and how much you like him and how absolute perfect you are.
His freinss get sick of it.
He won't care.
He was always closer to Lyra than he was with you.
You were young, about eleven when he was seventeen.
And besides, he never went to you about anything, he was always going to Lyra.
Then his sister died, and he snapped.
He ended up killing his dad, and probably killed you and his mother in the fire he started. He would be more surprised if he didn't.
And then he sees you. By some stranger, looking so sad.
And now you're thirteen.
And he doesn't understand, because he killed you.
Except he hadn't, because you had been sent to your grandparents for a while, during the time he recovered and his parents tried to cope with th loss of a child.
They hadn't wanted to tell you about Lyra.
And that wasn't his grandparents. The two had probably died because they were so old.
Foster parents.
He'll watch some older kids pick on you, and then he'll stand behind you, scaring them shitless.
He won't intredouce himself as himself? No.
Simply as your imaginary friend.
Always dissapearing before anyone but you can see him.
He's trained for that after all.
But you love him, even if he's "just a fragment of your mind, creating an illusion of your brother because he was the only one they didn't find the body of and you miss him."
He'll cuddle you, watch movies with you.
He knows his way around the internet, and how to illegally get money.
And Ben showed him the best free websites.
So movies and cuddles are the most common for the two of you.
He can't be seen after all.
And late night trips? He'll take you for a walk, or star gazing.
And he'll bring you gifts and when your foster parents try to return them only to find them payed for?
They'll be concerned, but you never tell them about him anymore.
And he'll be so happy.
Because you love him as much as he loves you.
And now he knows why Lyra cared so much about you.
And he wouldn't end up like Lyra, he would be there for you.
Whether you liked it or not.

A young boy(girl?) Who died, at the young age of eight.
And now, eight years later, has the body of a golden broken down bear and the mind of a 16 year old loser-
It's rare for him to actually engage with the nightguard, but he's always watching them.
So he'll be very surprised when he sees one of them bring a child in.
Are they stupid?
Well, he survived, walking out in a hurry with a small, crying child in his arms.
Goldie was ready for him to have learned the lesson and not bring you in, but he does.
And then he plugs music into your ears, blindfolds you and makes it so you aren't aware of anything going on.
Goldie will show up, not harming the nightguard, simply taking you while he was distracted.
And he'll intredouce himself, ready for you to yell and scream in fear.
But you don't, you just give him your name in return.
Y/N.
It fits amazingly.
And then he has you promise to never tell your brother that you are meeting him.
Until the last day, and he kills your brother.
And he keeps you in the vent room with him.
He basically kidnappers you.
But it's okay, it's fine.
It's normal.
Even if its, he doesn't care.
He can create illusions, hw makes sure you don't think anything is out of place.
And when you start thinking something is wrong, he'll kill you.
Simple as that.
When he no longer gets to have you?
Nobody gets to fucking have you.

sadiesawyer asked : 3, 7 birthday questions for Lydia
Birthday Headcanons. / @sadiesawyer -- accepting
3. If they do celebrate their birthday, how do they do it?
It depends on the timeline because if it’s in her main verse in camp, really entrenched in the war, she won’t have as much time, energy, and resources to celebrate her birthday. I have a feeling in this verse, Caleb might’ve caught onto that it was a special day and given her a little present (whatever that is, it’s Caleb so it’s bound to be unpredictable but thoughtful as well but maybe thoughtful in the humorous kind lmao). If she has time, she may recklessly wander outside the camp boundaries to get a moment to sit alone and think. To really sit with herself without a bunch of other distractions around her with the noises in the Patriot camp. She believes she deserves time to fully rest, even for a moment.
Before her main verse when she was with Laurence, it was usually Laurence, her husband, who had a whole day planned out. They would visit the park, go out to eat, and just try to do all they could to make Lydia’s day more eventful and to shake up her routine. As a child, her birthday usually consisted of a small family dinner with some out-of-town family members, but a lot of her fonder moments for her birthday were what she got up to with her friend group and all of the special attention she got from them on this day. As Lydia got older, her mother gave Lydia more freedom to choose what she wanted to do on her birthday. Not that her birthday in her youth was overly scheduled, but to give her another avenue to grow into her independence.
7. How important is their birthday to them? To their family?
I sort of touched upon this in my previous answer, but her husband took it very seriously. I cannot explain the amount of love and adoration Laurence had for Lydia that he really wanted her to feel special that day, more than he tried to make her feel like the center of his world every day he was alive. For Lydia’s own family, being an only child, it was an event treated the same as Christmas. It was a big deal, but they didn’t necessarily have the money to spoil her on that day. The family had more money than most, they would be considered middle class, but a lot of their extra funding went to Lydia’s education since they wanted to give her extra practice with her ADHD. But on this day, they gave her a few gifts, her mother made sure to bake all the food Lydia really liked, and they were less strict about her schoolwork. Lydia got to see her cousins, her grandparents, and aunts and uncles that came in, so usually, before her birthday, it was a major deal to clean up the home. So in a way, they did really prepare for it and the family that came to Philadelphia usually stayed at the house for a few days.
As an adult and when she was married to Laurence, usually for her family, they both visited them and went out to breakfast. But usually, they left Lydia in the company of Laurence for her birthday.
