Sometimes I feel like one of my Simpsons OCs is being fetishized (Rhonda) on DeviantArt because of her thicker body type. Ik someone’s gonna say “Tokyo, it’s DeviantArt. Ofc they are.” And yes, I agree. But it’s still disgusting to me. Especially because I’m a literal minor (yes, I make sexual jokes, but fetishes are not okay to me at all.)

Honestly, I feel like it’s being done in silence. Nobody’s said anything or put her in a special fetish favorites stash, or privately favorited any art of her. I’m just kinda paranoid tbh

If not made apparent by the title of the sketch page, I was thinking of changing her name from Louise to Lois. As much as I love the name Louise I think the name Lois fits her a bit better.

Maybe I can keep the name Louise as a middle name… Lois Louise?

As for Moe I will likely have to get to the ask later today, and I would have attached his sketch page to but it’s better to save it for the actual post about him.

Also I originally shipped these two as a joke but I’m starting to really like their dynamic now lol… ye old rivals to lovers schtick.

But back to Lois… speaking of her, I’m aware that she was originally an April Fools character but… should I make her an actual robo sleuth? She may be a little too similar to Lou on some terms (doesn’t matter, she would work with Nathan and Bebe) but I think she’d fit snugly with the rest of the cast.

Hi Slug! If you've listened to the full songs in the new EP, have your opinions of the trailers changed? Also, the new dramas are HEAVY, so if you've listened to them, I'm curious to know what you thought of them. As always, thanks for the translations!

I like listening to Hypmic music on shuffle during workouts, so I've most of the new songs in full by now. I don't think my opinions have changed majorly. I really enjoy Black and White, and Move Your Body Till You Die is a phenomenal work of art.

As for the drama tracks... truth be told, I haven't even listened to the one that came out in April, so I'll read through some TLs now and record thoughts below the cut:

"Anti-Party of Words faction" Huh, like a government faction? I'm surprised the PoW allows other political parties or at the very least open dissenters. There was talk in some chapters of the manga of them punishing protesters, not to mention the way they crushed the TDD rebellion in its primacy. Either way, interesting, and I hope we learn more about this as time goes on.

Ichijiku and Nemu baking together is really cute lol

I love the way Ichijiku's whole personality shifts around Otome. Gap moe (????)

It's a cool tidbit that Nemu tends to prefer plainer outfits, as that tracks with how she dresses in TDD. Also, Nemu and Ichijiku shopping together is kind of bittersweet, since Ichijiku is clearly using Nemu as a replacement figure for her deceased sister...

Ichijiku secretly wanting to fall on the cute side of the cute/elegant spectrum is a pretty classic trope but a fun detail that's been hinted at already, since we've seen that she keeps a bow collection.

??? Rei's lab is on Battleship Island? Ohhhhhhhhh this is why Twitter was blowing up with controversy right after this track released... The IRL Battleship Island was home to forced labor of Korean and Chinese citizens during the twentieth-century push of Japanese imperialism which was later, iirc, denied in part or totally by the Japanese government to immense international backlash. Using this as a setpiece for Hypmic is oddly provocative, and I can't think why the writers would want to do that. On a much lighter note, this is also a headscratcher to me because isn't this a UNESCO World Heritage Site? The whole point of that is conservation, and I don't think building a clone lab counts as conservation... Unless they're implying the clone lab was built prior to the 1950s? Hm. Let's not go down this rabbit hole.

"I would like all of the True Hypnosis Mics. As well as all the Amemura clones." Oh? Are there more still alive? I thought Honobono ordered the death of the last remaining three... Well, that scraps a piece of writing I was working on LOL

Hmm, the framing of Otome planning this and the way she brushed past talk of countermeasures for the anti-PoW faction implies that Rei is heading this faction.

Oh, so they couldn't get past the biometric locks after all, I see.

I strongly dislike the idea of thirty clones for thirty mics and the nonchalance in which Rei goes, "Yeah, I'll ship them off to Chuuouku" like they're a parcel and not human beings, but that's my personal bone to pick w/ this character and setting.

I was intrigued by the notion of the PoW holding caucuses, implying there's some sort of democratic process in terms of choosing their own party members or positions, but the JPN audio doesn't specify that exactly.

"We no longer require the cooperation of Jakurai Jinguji." I know that this took like four years in real time, but in terms of the Hypmic universe... I mean, Jakurai didn't even do anything for them, did he? He went through all that moral dilemma for nothing, as far as I can tell. (I get that it sets up the reconciliation with Ramuda, but that's it? Seriously?) That's disappointing to roll it back so quickly.

"During the Division Rap Battle, the people of our nation will be focused on the tournament, giving us the opportunity to use the True Hypnosis Mics to mind hack the Anti-Party of Words faction who stand in our way, ultimately pulling them over to our side." Otome always has the most batshit plans. God bless. A consequence of her needing to drive the plot forward is that she'll say some of the truly silliest things I've ever heard. What a complete misappropriation of government funds lol. Also... is this stating there are only 30 dissidents (????), or can the True Hypmics brainwash more than one person at a time?

"Once that is complete, we will move on to other countries. And when we have taken over the world, then, in the true sense of the word, peace through the power of words will be achieved." LMAO? I'm sorry, this isn't very considerate of me, but in my initial impressions of this, I am well and truly gobsmacked. What in the actual fuck. How many clones will die for this? How much money will it cost? How does she think she stands any chance at governing so many people across such an area, even with a downsized population after WWIII? Homie... Never change, Hypmic, you are the wildest.

I can't believe Ichijiku is so whipped she's willing to go along with an absolutely nonsensical plan for world domination. Ma'am, Otome is not going to fuck you, and even if she is, it's not worth it! Ma'am!!! I'm sorry, I'm being petty and not giving this a lot of in-depth thought but LORD this is a trip on first read.

Or does it affect their speakers and such too? I'm curious how that works, like if you build an affinity with a certain mic or some nonsense.

Heyo! Thank you for all of the variety here! I honestly was torn on which one to do, bc I couldn’t do ALL of them (that’d be insanely long if I tried lol). You’re still working in fast food?” She asked, instantly a bit ashamed at how surprised she sounded as she spoke. But, thankfully, her old highschool crush simply shrugged, “It’s a part-time job. I have to pay for my college tuition somehow.” “Oh! That explains it, sorry if that was rude. Just, uh, thought you’d have...m-moved on.” Oh god, why am I fucking this up so bad?! Shut up, Chie! Just pay for the meal! “Eh, I have experience in it, and it’s not that hard. So, I’ve kept at it on the side.” Aika explained nonchalantly, before adding, “Also, that’ll be 24.50, please.” “R-right!”

With that, Chie began a frantic pat down of her pajama pants in an attempt to find her wallet before her face began to burn. Yet, when she didn’t find it, a cold realization trickled into her blood. Oh god, when was the last time I had my wallet?! Lunch?! Oh god, oh god, I left it at the cafe! “O-oh...um, it seems I’ve lost my wallet.” Chie muttered in a shameful squeak. Her mahogany eyes glued to the gold sill of her apartment’s front door. Her face even swifter to burn with embarrassment under the unimpressed watch Aika’s beautiful autumn eyes. “But! I can pay you differently?” She offered to try and quickly save face, though she also realized just how much of a hail-mary move it was. And a bit of a cheesy offer. Geez. She thought to herself while she and the delivery girl stood in an awkward silence for a long, long moment. A painfully long moment. Until, finally, Aika broke the awkward silence. “Alright. I can cover the cost if your payment is acceptable.” She agreed, Chie’s order set down on the porch for the moment as each word another log on the flames of embarrassment. “W-wait, really? Holy shit, I didn’t expect you to actually accept it.” “So, do you not have another way to cover the cost?” Aika asked flatly with a tilt of her head. Which, made the ex-track athlete pause to think. God, I am NOT this desperate for takeout, and I’m not that prideful, am I? She asked herself, before another voice piped up in her head, Though, I mean...if she accepts the payment, this would be a great opportunity to fulfill my fantasies… “No, I have a payment.” She decided, her softly tanned skin too warm on her body, “But, uh...it’s not a credit card, y’know. It’s more…” “I understand what you meant,” Aika assured as she moved the fast food bags into Chie’s apartment so that nobody stole them off of the landing. “Though, I have other orders to get to, so it will have to be quick.”

Chie nodded at that as she quickly led the delivery woman into her apartment. Her brain so scattered and frantic with nerves, that she skipped over the removal of her shirt, and jumped directly to her pajama pants and panties. Something that only paused when the dark-haired woman chuckled, “A bit eager, aren’t you?” Which, brought another wave of heat to her cheeks. But, before she could stammer out some apology or explanation, Aika simply shook her head and took a small mouthful from Chie’s extra gravy- when did she grab that? Kinda unprofessional to eat from my order…- before she pulled the brunette into an abrupt kiss.

And, much to the athlete’s surprise, there was something sort of hot about the way a little bit of the gravy managed to dribble out from the corner of her mouth as they made out. Ok Justice For All. This is not going to be exhaustive or comprehensive but here we go.

The first case we don't really need to cover. It's a tutorial, it achieves what it sets out to do, there's not a whole lot else. I really like the amnesia concept and while I wish more had been done with it (like being used in a regular case), I understand the mechanical service it does for a tutorial.

Our second case is solid. It was really fun to figure out exactly what happened and if you've been following my 'game posting' tag you saw exactly how much fun I had. I kind of wish we had gotten more out of Misty, but that wouldn't really work in this medium (lol get it). Obviously I love Pearly I adore her I would be her slave she deserves the world. Phoenix, stop showing her the horrors, please. I just really have to keep coming back to how fun this case was to solve. Sometimes the correct things to do mechanically make no sense to me bc I don't leap far enough with my logic, but this case I was able to do pretty easily which tells me it was very well written with the proper foreshadowing and such (and I am a sucker for properly laid ground work). I like that we get more Fey lore. I am devastated that I guesses the twist ending but I had no one to witness it. It's probably my favorite case this game.

Bigtop is a mess. We're going to ignore the Regina age problem for our sanity and pretend she's 18 bc wtf (I knew this but just now [as I was typing the end of this paragraph] connected the dots that in Japan 16 is viewed as our 18 and they just didn't localize her age). I really like Max! He's my favorite character to come out of this case and I will never let go of my wrightica/galactright ship (is there an official ship name?). He thinks Edgeworth is dead, it could happen. Also! Diversity win! The guy who murdered you is wheelchair bound! But actually I really like the concept of Acro's motivations, driven to madness and murder by grief. I like it less when we come back to Regina's canon age, like even when she's 18 Acro should still view her as a child and personally I could never hold something like that against a child. It was decidedly and accident and not even remotely her fault. It's not her fault your brother was swayed to do something idiotic by the power of boners, my guy. Also Regina is not ok. She needs help and the only one who realizes it is Moe. Everyone else is 'enabling' (that's not exactly the word I'm looking for but it's in the ballpark) her. Her own father was likely the worst offender. Moe may not be funny (I actually liked his jokes) but he is genuinely a great guy.

Our last case: Extremely well written. I went into this already knowing the outcome, how could I not. Despite this, I was so worried about Maya everything else went out the window. For a minute I actually convinced myself of the possibility that Adrian had done it (I am so sorry for everything we put you through, but it was for Maya). This case really put me in Phoenix's shoes. I'd imagine if you don't actually like Maya, this might not do for you what it did for me, but if you don't like Maya I don't know how you've managed to play all the way through the second game. Of course the good ending where you toss Engarde to the wolves (the assassin he hired) is iconic. That's what you get. Again if you've been following my 'game posting' tag you know I had strong feelings about Edgeworth through this. Most of them were due to the stress of Maya being kidnapped (I seriously got waaayyyyyy too in character during this case), but also he was smug as hell for no reason when he showed back up. He was like 'new me!' and refused to elaborate. Phoenix is not a mind reader, my guy. He won me over again so we're good. Also the dinner? At the end it literally says "I wonder if there's anything I can give him to express how I feel...?" I think we can all imagine my first thought... actually I don't trust people to put thoughts in my head, my first thought was a kiss. (You actually give the whip and Miles yet again thinks Phoenix is a mind reader, will it ever end?) I can't forget! Gummy's official stint at Wright Co! My one post about him being a Phoenix Wright weird girl was really popular and then my second (about this case) also got some notes, so clearly this is the Gumshoe content we're all looking for. (Can they please stop firing him though? He's going to end up dead on the street from starvation.) I thought it was really something how much Phoenix trusts Gumshoe. He said

The scene with Franziska and Miles at the end was sorely needed and it was fantastic. They're both growing and healing from shared trauma and it's beautiful.

Over all... I forget, is this the one people don't like out of the trilogy? I liked it. The first is obviously iconic and banger after banger, but I do like this one. Overall it's definitely worth playing and very enjoyable. (Idk bc I haven't tried it personally, but there's a post going around about ds estore emulation or something where you can play games from the ds estore for free now that it's closed, so as far as I know you can play it for free now.)

LET US START FROM THE BEGINING.....

They (I have 2 female OC's) were created back when season one was launched. And I had created personal head/fan canons in my story, that soon now be revered to as retcon at this point, before we go any further.

I also admit, I have yet figure out how my OCs fit into season 2 now.

So think of my timeline, was before season one and after season one, and all that dead time between, caught in fandom limbo. And let's pretend if my main OC was a cannon, simply think she was not mention cause her scenes were just cut out. (As she is a much bigger player) I love trying to make my characters work within the current episodes or films of a series, then just having them come between fandom reset fanfics, you know? If any of you get, what am trying to explain here?

SO! What that said, let's finally talk about them.

First I have Primrose. She was just made to give Angel Hastur tragic back story. I quickly kill her off in the back story.

Prim was a healer in training ( she lost parents, when she was 8ish, Well! Times were hard back then after lol XD. At 8 she had to fend for self, and she managed to protect herself) But now 17 she manages to have her own little place, and do odd and jobs, and was a waver by trade while, working on her own remedies. Yet as I said, in this time Angels did live among humans and they were aware. So am sure Prim was aware of Hastur and other angels in her town. But mostly as acquaintances. But she never got close to any, not cause she was loner or a jerk. She other crap to do.

Yet I see it were, a younger Angel Crowley and other random unnamed one were playing to rough with a young Angel Hastur, and he told them to piss off. (was even picked even then) And Prim did step in, but the damage was already done. So, of course, she steps up to help him, and that is when she started to be friend an angel after all.

She hated her parents, but they earned the hate. She was a opss baby, so they had to wed, and hated each other so they took out on her. It wasn't long time she caught wind of London was the place!for the gothic scene back in the day, so run away to London. Wasn't long till she hooked up with a follow goth, and started going by Abyssinia, (she picked as it abyss and sin it..) but he was aj erk, always trouble with the law, abused her, got her catch up in his life of crime. He always cheated on her too. But she no other place, and she put up with it. As long she did what he said, it would all be fine. She was plotting to off him soon anyways, and steal all the wealth had stolen. She played all nice and sweet. Then it was big time he was gonna hit up bank, she had her part to play.

Yet all went horribly wrong.

When she met her untimely ended, up her Boyfriend coming after her. (As he realized what she was planning on the side) to kill her. She panicked and didn't hold her ground, as she had play in her mind she would, for days. She ended up sliding and crackling her head on some marble floor, ( bleeding to death..)

It seems universe as gotten retried of reincarnating, as with each life she lives her soul just turned dark and bitter. And she ends up the burning pits. Well guess what! She was all “F-THAT!” So she fought her way out of the pit. And in one human year climbed out. All of hell was impressed as normally, must give up. Even getting as close to very last step, but then slips, and falls all the way back. NOT HER!. So, of course, it was no question she deserved a spot. For years she managed to work herself into having her own infamous rep.

It seems she and Hastur have A FTF thing going on. Or so they claim. (though behind doors their more going on XD) Though he's unaware of the truth of Abyss and who her corrupt soul really belongs to. And of course, she has no idea, like she can remember her past lives. Yet fully remembers her human one, so in away she thinks differently then them, cause she was HUMAN! Once.

Then finally, she earned her own seat with main, as a “duchess of hell” kind of given she and Hastur are a couple now. And since she was once human, she don't understand the how she could chosen duke, but she like how she was the first duchess! So they were “ whatever..than..”

Yet was long road for her to get where she was. (And now given events of good omens season one, I say Abyss was off acting other orders being once human...it help demons with other earthly matters. Why we didn't see, in theory, if she was cannon)

I really don't know how the demon royal class work, yet when climbed out of the pit..

She was placed as a lower class demon, but she still sat higher then the others. Worked closer with them like an earn boy, or something...And unlike other lower demons...They made a new rank for her right on the spot, as Satan demanded it. (I know that has some plot hole there I cant argue that) But naturally Crowley (when he still in hell's good graces and with this rank) was interested by this little human...

(even as the author I have no idea what was...but I know it last over course of time as made them get closer, till she turned into his FTF...and fall into his arms)

Fire Emblem Engage 15 - 17

Spoilers for FE Engage 15+. Though, this game is way better at gameplay than it is with story, but the characters are all likable so I'm good.

I really appreciate how different all the nations and their castles and interiors look in this game. I adore Three Houses, but one thing I really wish they did was have more variety in the weather, landscapes, etc . . . This game nailed it.

Solm, a desert country, having waterfalls in their palace is such a good touch. Not only does it show that water would be valued in a place like this, but it's also flaunting the royal family's wealth and power, like a palace should.

I'm not sure I'll ever warm up to Veyle. She's a walking moe cliche. Mind control. Innocent cute loli type otherwise. But, hey, I didn't like Hortensia at one point but her VA sold me in the last chapter.

Does anyone else find it a bit funny that we're a dragon worshipped as a god with influence over the land and this is a good thing. It's like a giant middle finger to those people who tried to rewrite the entire history of the franchise around a certain character's not-so-great view of dragons.

Also worth noting that Brodia invading Elusia is seen as a universal bad and something Diamant's supports resolve around stopping. Just putting that out there.

Ivy/Diamant feels cannon to me. It makes too much sense.

Kagetsu is so awkward. I love him.

I feel like I just took half of my units and got them with level 5 with Byleth. Mentorship is too good not to stick on a few people, and it's cheap too.

I love how literally no one takes Hortensia seriously. It makes an otherwise grating character kind of cute.

Holy shit, Merrin laid it on thick for Chloe. Honestly, don't blame her. But she is not subtle, gave Chloe flowers, called her beautiful, then asked her to dinner. Homegirl's even willing to try and stomach Chloe's . . . uh "food" choices. And Chloe thinks Merrin is like a cool knight out of a fairy tale. 100% new ship happening.

So far I like AlearxAlfred, IvyxDiamant, CelinexAlcryst, and now ChloexMerrin.

Alfred and Boucheron's support went exactly like I imagined it would. Poor dude. Alfred would lose his mind meeting Dimitri, someone who's abnormally strong despite not looking like a hulk, but is still shredded.

Alfred is probably the only person in the world who would've be offended or weirded out when someone asked to lick the flowers he's wearing and also offer to get licked later. Otherwise, Bunet is weird.

Seadall is VERY hot. He's like Sothe and Navarre had a baby. Or like Navarre put Sothe's clothes on.

F!Alear confronting Veyle again had really good voice acting. As long as we ignore that everyone just stood around instead of attacking her. Gratned, it was un-brainwashed Veyle who wasn't attacking so I'll let it go. Maybe.

Doing Ike's prologue is making me feel things. The nostalgia is real.

I love so, so much that one of Byleth's canned dialogue in Somniel is "Nothing to report!" and his paralogue is the Holy Tomb. And most of his dialogue was about Rhea, lol.

Anyone else think it's dumb that in Classic your units can die in the ring paralogues? It's like, oh bummer, Lyn/Corrin/etc just killed my healer who's the little sister of my mage, but our bonds are now stronger!

It feels extra sad seeing Firene get attacked. It's such a peaceful kingdom. It's nice to see Alfred back in the spotlight though. His lines about how these are just farmers and not soldiers reminds me a lot of Dimitri after Lonato.

I love how often the villains chit-chat with the heroes before and after battles, but like they never attack or threaten each other.

I can totally see your reasoning behind the true love kiss not being strong enough to break the dark one curse and I can also see the reasoning of the whole disco lizard being Rumple self image although I always considered Gold lack of scales at the start of S2/Lacey arc more a reflection of the same thing that keep Archie from going green and cricket because by then while he may love Belle he very much still sees himself as Rumplestilstkin the Dark One.

As for the second possibilities I'm much less convinced, I know that Rumple argues with himself/his human side after Belle kisses him and that the Dark Swan/Camelot arc reveal that with the powers you also get a cadre of evil wizards whispering in your head but I have always interpreted that scene as an easy way to visualize Rumple self hatred for his "coward past self" expecially since he believes that the Dark One powers are his only chance at finding Baelfire.

But I must also confess that upon multiple rewatches I've found the whole Dark Ones plot to be extremely contrived and confusing (also thanks to at a times less than faithfull dub work) so I may have never properly picked up on all the mechanics as my eyes glaze over 😅.

As for the Rumbelle being rushed is more that I feel that they never got to resolve the whole "you pushed me away" thing in the name of C and D plot happening. I like the reunion both the first one when Belle stumbles in Gold shop and when she get her memories back but I wish we saw more of their interaction before Moe kidnapping, maybe see them at Gold pawnshop or a bit of the old dinamic because imo even if Rumple had not freaked out at the kiss I don't feel they were quite there to act as a fully fledged couple. I think that maybe I would have felt more appropriate for the library and cute little "let's try an hamburger" or "let's have a picnic at your shop" to have happened before Moe. I absolutely realize that these are mostly my personal preferences and are in no way a fair or comprehensive analysis of the two but Gold always gave me big awkward vibes. Hope it makes sense lol

All that waffling aside I'm glad there seems to be a universal agreement that the croc got done dirty by the writers in later seasons

Love me some Rumbelle, and I still believe that pre!curse it was, if hastily introduced, really good. And I kind of like it in the earlier seasons too before they killed Rumple character development and consistency for the sake of plot. But I really feel like the two of them hit off too...romantically? Too soon? I mean last time they were together Belle had just tried the true love kiss for the first time causing Rumple to freak out and then they have not seen each other for who knows how long with all the Regina being a little bastard part. But then they meet and just?? Hit it off like if nothing had happened? As if they were Snow and Charming??? Hello???? They even sleep in the same bed???? So soon????

Also do true love kisses not work on the Dark One anymore? I mean we know that Rumple and Gold are quite the same person but not really but why is it not working anymore? What's this? Leaving even for a moment how horribly horribly mishandled Rumple redemption roller coaster was compared to say Regina or hell even Zelena i would have preferred if they did the trial and tribulation and all the allegory of addiction and keep the power of the true love kiss, as in "the power of the true love kiss exist and it works, it can chase down the darkness, but for it to work, for it to truly work, *you* must also be a changed man"

From SV we know that he felt admiration for his Shizun so do you think that if SJ wasn't cruel to him LBG's admiration would've grown into love and attraction like it did in LBH's case for SY? Hi there, Anon! I’m glad you’re liking the Untold Tale! Thanks for reading! I think it lowkey helps when the story I’m writing (in general) is from a culture I’m familiar with and that I know some of its language nuances (just general Mainland dialect; I’m unfamiliar with Shanghainese, the Beijing dialect, etc etc). So fortunately for me, as someone who is Chinese but was born in the Western side of the world speaking Mandarin to family and friends, emulating the Chinese aesthetic and atmosphere in TUT comes a little bit easier to me than someone who did not grow up with this culture. I bet if I had been raised in China, I would be able to write something even more multilayered and deep but, alas, the youthful rebellious me of the past hadn’t taken my pinyin and Chinese character writing lessons seriously so I can only communicate verbally and understand audibly 😫. It’s very special for us writers in fandoms to be able to write a story of a culture that we actually know and can identify with. But high key it’s been immensely fun injecting some references of things I’ve come to notice from watching period C-dramas and the C-novels I’ve read, and I’ve come to learn interesting things about Chinese history and mythology even I didn’t know! So the story really writes itself.

Shen Jiu (OG!Shen Qingqiu)

To answer your question 🤔, to be honest this is why the SVSSS fandom is great—because there’s so many interpretations of the original source material. That’s why we have our headcanons and fanfictions to explore these many different possibilities. So for me personally, I can see it happening both ways: *1) LBG does develop a crush/falls in love with SJ, or 2) no matter how SJ treats him LBG regards him respectfully or coldly. I think Possibility 1 is more likely, since SY transmigrated into SQQ and we saw what happened with “Bunhe.”

Now, mind, for Possibility 1 to be more likely to happen, the SJ in PIDW will have to undergo a massive personality change/ a change of heart/ develop a good conscience and will need to clean up his image aka clear up the massive misunderstandings from PIDW canon (like him being mistaken as a pervert for Ning Yingying, visiting whorehouses, killing LQG, etc). It’ll be difficult though considering who Airplane has changed SJ into for his stallion harem novel (reading through SVSSS, my impression of PIDW besides it being the harem stallion novel is that it sounds similar to a “dog blood plot,” where audiences tune in to see how the villains are brought to justice). I literally have a line from TUT in a future chapter where SY says this about SJ since I will resurrect SJ and bring him into the story for closure:

People like Shen Qingqiu naturally had a set of deeply-rooted values. If one wanted to change them, it’d be easier to just have them reincarnate. (—TUT, ch???)

At his core, he’s a flawed man (which makes sense with the underlying cycle of abuse theory, considering his upbringing and backstory). He’s jealous and petty and prickly. His image is that of a proud and cold immortal. In Chinese terms, he’s the type of character archtype who I can see being àojiāo (definitely not canon characterization; this is just a stray thought that amuses me) in a romantic relationship.

LBH will have to recognize that^, or be in a position where he finds SJ’s caustic side endearing instead. He will also have to be extremely patient with him (although, since the joke in SVSSS is that LBH is an incurable M, it shouldn’t be that hard).

A fun thing about OG!SQQ is that he’s the cannon fodder scumbag villain of PIDW. He’s the reason LBG blackened from a white lotus. And, as you know, villains aka antagonists aka bad boys resonate strongly with people for a reason. That’s why we see a lot of Enemies to Lovers tropes, etc. It squicks me to use this phrase but “the allure of dating a ‘bad boy’ is strong.” SJ is that type of bad boy we could identify as a “fixer-upper project” (ugh, that phrase)—even with the red flags and warning signs—especially for those said to have a troubled past with rejecting neglectful parental figures/ family members/ friends and have have not outgrown their wish to convert that sort of person into a loving, accepting person. When we want something we can’t or shouldn’t have, our desire for it grows exponentially. In fanfiction this is a concept writers and readers can explore safely in a world of the imaginary.

From a Meta Perspective

Although, if we look at it meta-ly, the cold and proud and/or knowledgeable Shizun (teacher/ master) character who comes to know love and “is redeemed” by whomever is the love interest (typically a cute and quirky girl who may or may not have started off as naive to the innerworkings of the Cultivation World and therefore needs an established and mature mentor to guide them) is a very well-known archetype for a reason in Chinese fan culture.

Seeing a terrible person change their ways and try to become a better person because of the influence of the one they love is also a popular depiction for a reason.

It’s almost like gap moe. The crueler and aloof one starts out as (arrogance is a staple), the more impactful the shift is when we see such characters soften their edges.

The draw of the sacred master/disciple relationship is that it’s taboo, so I think it’s fair to say that such a relationship in fiction is a popular trope precisely because of this aspect. From a writer’s perspective, the main appeal is to show that there is someone out there who can cause this respectful figure to lose control (undergo emotional change) and go to great lengths to protect his/her precious person. That precious person also has to fall into the “not like other girls” trope (so they can show the ML a different world he would not have seen the beauty of before). On the other side, we look forward to the point of the story where the love interest has their “Oh” moment and realizes their admiration has somehow shifted into love and attraction over the course of events.

Other Romantic Possibilities

It’s very likely. I personally like the fanon headcanon where anyone with Heavenly Demon blood running through their veins feels a compulsion to “obsessively fixate on one person” (TLJ —> SXY, LBH —> SQQ). Personally I don’t recall if this was canon or fanon, but someone had written something about LBH imprinting on one person in his lifetime on the account of his demon nature. And I like that theory (I think it’s likely more fanon than anything but it’s an intriguing idea full of possibilities!).

For him to fixate romantically on one person, I personally don’t think the prerequisite is just by being kind to LBH (but it probably adds to the person’s appeal). There’s probably other factors that go into this to capture the male protagonist’s eye, such as him finding someone attractive (or passes his own personal standards) and/or having good chemistry with that person. So I could see him being into other Shizuns and whomever else. Personally I also think there is appeal in the unobtainable. It’s one thing to have someone’s affection (see LBG and his harem of 600 wives who definitely aren’t shy about giving him affection), but it’s another to know you’ve earned the affections of someone you really like and respect (especially if it’s someone thought to be unobtainable).

As long as the writer can provide a plausible justification for me to suspend disbelief and they set up events to justify it, I can swallow just about any ship possibility. It doesn’t necessarily have to be SJ’s type of personality. (For example, I read a very good fanfiction before where the writer paired Luo Binghe with Ming Fan. Ming Fan, people!!! And they actually pulled it off! What a madlad! Mind, it’s Shen Yuan who had transmigrated into MF in that premise, but the writer set up events that showed how these two characters came to bond and develop a deep friendship which inevitably had LBH developing a crush on his shixiong. I use this as an example because this is the type of unexpected (crack)ship, but because the writer did their work trying to make it seem plausible, we can only admire their hard work and effort at pulling it off.)

As the saying goes, there are plenty of fishes in the sea! As the protagonist, LBH/LBG can have many OTP possibilities with just about anyone as long as the writer can make it plausible. It’s all about the character development and the story/ central themes they wish to tell with the ship!

(Note, these really aren’t hot takes, lol. I’m just having fun answering to this casually from the perspective of a writer. Thank you for your Ask, anon!)

Good game! But I hope the next games improve on a few things.

The controls are really good. Zero feels even lighter than in the X series, and walljumping is so fun. I also like that you can have up to two weapons, you can customize your Zero depending on your fighting style, and you level up weapons by using them. The weapons themselves are overall well balanced, maybe the Shield Boomerang is the one I found the least use for. I ended up using the Triple Rod a lot :P this is by far the best part of the game lol.

The plot is... kinda like X1 on steroids? I mean. The story ingame is rather barebones - Ciel finds Zero, asks him to do a bunch of things for the Resistance, sudden plot twist - but the lore is already deep and very, very edgy. X lost a bit of his sanity fighting Mavericks without Zero. Copy X is a well-intentioned extremist/dictator, which has some interesting implications regarding the personality of the real X, and it was made by a young girl who feels terribly guilty. A “retirement” camp for Reploids. I like it, but I expect the sequels to have more meat on their bones :P

(also it’s so obvious that inafune wanted copy x to be the real x but he couldn’t have it because capcom didn’t want to tarnish the image of the actual protagonist, so we got mystic x at the end. poor inafune, he can't give his golden child the preferential treatment he desperately wants to give him)

I appreciate that the Zero series started with a different formula, with a hub world and missions to choose. I like that you can even walk to the different areas to grind and find missing Cyber Elves! I don’t know if there’s an ideal order, I kinda did them in order of appearance lol. I appreciate the variety... in theory. In practice some of them were gimmicky in the wrong way, the best example being that stupid escort mission that is so boring and goes against the whole fluidity the game offers and permanently lowered my rank :( Also a handful of timed missions, which are stressful but I suppose it’s the natural evolution of the nature of the series.

And finally, the big criticism: this game is not just hard, it’s mean. If the X series encourages you to find powerups, the Zero series shames you for wanting to make things slightly easier for yourself - oh, and certain powerups require an annoying amount of grinding to get enough Crystals to “feed” (tbf, though, apparently ranking in Z1 isn’t as important as in the sequels aside from 100% completion). The bosses hit like a truck and are twice as fast, as early as the second boss in the game - some have actually understandable patterns, but good luck getting to that point before Game Overing (Angel X is probably the best example of this). Sometimes I even got the feeling that the devs took advantage of the GBA’s limited visibility, am I right bomb mission, disappearing block sequence and climbing tower with spikes that pop up out of nowhere? :^) Neo Arcadia in particular is borderline Castlevania 1 in its cheapness. Calm down :V

Graphically the game is pretty good for a 2002 GBA game, I especially like the heat effect in the desert. I’ll be honest, though, I’m having a hard time getting used to this moe style. Zero’s design as in his armor? I could accept that, although crimson looks better on him than black with red parts. Him looking like a round-eyed child? I’m sorry, I can’t connect him to the Zero I know lol. At least Ciel is an absolute cutie and i already lowkey ship her with zero <3

Musically... ngl the boss theme is the only one I remember on the top of my head, both for the right and the wrong reasons :V but there are other bangers, not as many as it’s custom for the series but still. The remix of Zero’s iconic theme is such a “HELL YEAH” moment - you’re replaying the famous scene where Zero saves the day, but this time you’re the badass <3 Infiltration is memorable simply for how much it doesn’t fit a typical “detonate all bombs” scenario, it’s much tenser and wants you to fill dread. Neo Arcadia’s theme is a much more typical “this is it, don’t hold anything back!” theme and it’s badass, and it’s a great example of how good the soundfont is.

(my biggest complaint is that the Base theme plays so much and it’s so repetitive that I can’t get it out of my head)

(but seriously that boss theme slaps)

So overall... it was a nice introduction to the series, but not much more. I don't know what else to say lol. It does feel a little like the Sonic 1 of the Zero series :P still, the good elements are really good and I can’t write off the entire experience.

How To Train Your Dragon Saga

In the beginning, I was never really interested in watching the movie and never even bothered to watch the trailer, since we thought it was one of those cliche failure movies (and Dreamworks hasn't really had a very good track record of good animated movies at the time), but after being bombarded with tons of Toothcup fanfics and fanarts and after very high recommendations by my friend Jello13 from dA, I finally got down to watching the movie. Boy, was I glad I took my friend's recommendation to watch this movie, and the subsequent sequels after that, because after 3, 4 friggin' times, I still fucking LOVE this movie!!!

Here's my findings of the saga:

Apparently this movie was based on a children's novel written by Cressida Cowell which focuses on the 2nd book in a 10-volume book franchise. There are certain deviations between the real Hiccup and Toothless and the storyline as a whole, but after reading the summary of the original story, I think I like the movie version better. In fact even the writer said so in her blog that she likes the deviation as the movie captured the core essence of her story and it was amazing to see her story to be interpreted this way.

The storyline and the pacing is very good, and the sarcastic humour and slight optimism of Hiccup despite people thinking he's anything BUT a Viking is very intriguing. I love his catchphrases like "I'm way too muscular for their tastes. They wouldn't know what to do with all...this" and "Thank you for summing that up" and his famous line "You just gestured to ALL of me!" is just some of the LOL-worthy lines the talented Jay Baruchel who voices Hiccup does.

I was totally shocked to find out that Gerard Butler plays the role of Stoick, Hiccup's old man! I have never expect him, who is known for his brawniness and action-packed persona, made famous in the movie 300, would actually play a voice-over for a cartoon character. After finding out, spotting his voice and hearing the familiarity was much, much easier.

And of course, the creme de la creme of the entire movie: TOOTHLESS!! He is just so, so, so, soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo uber cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute~~~~!!!!! When I read about him in fanfics and caught glimpses of him through fanarts, I was thinking, "Hey, this dragon is quite cute." Now amplify that feeling by a gajillion times more. That's how I feel about Toothless. He started off a little vicious with his snake-like slit for eyes, trying to act strong and tough like the dragon he was, but the moment he let his guard down a little, he got these pair of big doe eyes that is just so MOE and SQUEE-worthy. And of course I finally learn how he got his namesake: with retractable teeth that he can materialize at will

My most favourite scene of the entire movie would be this scene where Toothless finally was at peace with Hiccup and allowed him to touch him. The way Toothless tried to copy his drawing, and then growled whenever Hiccup stepped on his drawing, then Hiccup moved to avoid the lines in tune with the music until finally they were so close they were allowed to touch was just so AWW-worthy. And the music score was perfect too, especially the title of that score: Forbidden Friendship. Isn't that just sweet?

The part where Hiccup and Toothless slowly develop that bond while trying to get Toothless back on his flight feet again was also very interesting as they slowly worked together and forget each other's differences to reach a common goal, while at the same time trying to learn about each other, and Hiccup using that knowledge to good use (the eel and the scratching of the neck part was really epic), making him the life of the team, much to his crush, Astrid's chagrin.

I also love the part where Hiccup tries to convince everyone during the final exam of killing a dragon that dragons are not what they think they are, and tried to pacify the Monstrous Nightmare only to be interrupted by Stoick and having Toothless coming to the rescue (damsel in distress much, Hiccup? XD) and revealed their relationship. It felt really sad and my heart just broke when Hiccup shouted Toothless for him not to kill Stoick and Toothless looked at him with his doe eyes, then Hiccup tries in vain to stop everyone from hurting Toothless, and that argument which led to his disowning, and earning back his role as a son by proving his worth and Toothless' reputation, though a cost of his leg. I was wondering where would be the scene where he looses his leg, since I read that he had a prosthetic in fanfics, but turns out it happened in the near end of the movie, and literally mirrored Toothless' missing left tail fin.

Ending is a bit cliche where he gets the girl, he is lauded as a war hero and gained the respect of everyone including his father, the dragons made peace with humans and all that, but still it was a very heartwarming cliche scene. One that leaves a smile on your face and a sigh of contentment in your heart.

Speaking of Astrid, not really sure it's because of that yaoi in me, but I never really saw Astrid as a suitable pairing for Hiccup. I know, I'm not usually one for bestiality, but seriously, can't you just FEEL the love between Hiccup and Toothless to the point where you can consider them as lovers? Toothcup (Toothless/Hiccup) pairings are in the rage right now since the movie has been uber popularize, and you cannot deny that sort of relationship exist, right?

This one, personally I feel, is almost as par as the first one. Not better, not worse, but more or less par. Hiccup and Astrid are still together, but the Toothcup shipper in me just don't feel like they match somehow. Moreso, suddenly out of the blue, Snotlout and Fishlegs were heads over heels with Ruffnut, which I ABSOLUTELY have NO CHEMISTRY feel whatsoever! Even after I've watched their TV series that led to the second movie, I STILL don't get the vibe or the chemistry between those three people. It's like "Wait, what?" moment.

Although that moment when Ruffnut was just totally thirsty for Eret was absolutely hilarious though. I couldn't help laughing and cringing at the same time.

When the moment Hiccup's mom Valka showed up, I was not expecting her to be so... skinny. Stoick said that he made helmets out of Hiccup's mom's breast plate, and it seemed pretty big, but looking at her, she didn't look like someone who was close to being a big bosom woman, but what is continuity anyways? LOL Though Hiccup definitely has inherited her knack for dragons. Guess it's in the blood after all.

I teared up a little when Stoick died, and I felt so bad that their bromance was threatened by this, but thankfully Hiccup still loves Toothless and is willing to forgive him and try to bring him back to his side. Goes to show how deep their bond is, and Toothless ended up becoming the Alpha Dragon was one of the most epic moments in the whole movie.

It also kinda interesting that Hiccup has somehow became pretty hot in this movie. Was pretty surprised at how he transformed from the awkward tiny little runt of a boy to a strapping man LOL

Plot feels similar to the 2nd one, but the ending was so so SO bittersweet. A fitting ending, but sweet yet painful for me to watch.

My heart broke at the scene wen Hiccup was complaining about Toothless being in love n said "Am I not enough?" and I was like internally screaming "YES! U ARE ENOUGH!! U TWO ARE ENOUGH!! FUCK THAT LIGHT FURY!!"

Throughout the courtship scene btwn Toothless and the Light Fury i was like internally screaming "NO, SHE'S A TRAP! SHE'S A FUCKING TRAP! HICCUP, WHY ARE YOU OKAY WITH THIS?! I'M NOT HAPPY WITH THIS! I AM NOT OKAY WITH THIS!!"

I cried like a fucking baby, especially at the end of the movie. It was like I knew it was happening, that they were gonna break up, but I was in denial, then when Toothless hugged Hiccup goodbye, I lost it, waterworks all over. In fact, waterworks all the way to the end at their final reunion ugly-cried like a fucking baby.

It did ended perfectly; perfectly bittersweet and perfectly heartbreaking and I was like "This is it. It's official. It's over. My Toothcup ship has fucking sank!!"

Fuck you, DreamWorks, you have killed my bromance!! Gahh!! I hate and love this movie at the same time!

I actually haven't seen that show. Love, Simon was good but really not my type of media. I keep meaning to watch it, just to have watched it, but it's not high on my priority list.

That being said, I did some googling and here's my thoughts based on that

favorite male character: Rahim. Fandom Wikia says he likes photography, ergo he is my favorite.

favorite female character: Lake Meriwether because while trying to google her to learn more, I found out that there is a lake in Virginia named Lake Merriweather and I vibe with that

least favorite character: Benji because I saw that name on this list and remembered how my best friend lost the class chess tournament in 8th grade cause her opponent was using psychological torture by chanting 'Benji' the entire game. Idk why Benji specifically but I remember that.

prettiest character: Bram. Keiynan Lonsdale is a fucking icon.

funniest character: Felix looks like a bit of a jokester. And Felix is bit of a funny name, I think he's just living up to it. (I literally didn't even read his wiki, watch when it turns out he's the most serious one lol)

favorite season: uhhhhhhhhhhhh 2 is always a good number. Things have been introduced, they're not relying on drama to carry it on yet. 2 is good.
