We live in the timeline where the gods are all queer and gay and pan and I love them so much aaaaa.

Like pick the big king Iuppiter and he's not cishet; Neptunus, Apollo, Mercurius, Hercules, all had male lovers, none are cishet. Even those depicted as the pinnacle of masculinity and strength are not cishet!!!!

Venus changes sex all the time in her depictions. She's sometimes Bearded Venus, sometimes she has male genitalia; there's even Bald Venus; She does not conform to any standard of beauty or heteronormativity or gender and that's because all those different forms of being are equally divine and fully hers.

Liber and Apollo are many times depicted in gender non conforming ways. We even have gods of being genderqueer (Hermaphroditus) and also just plain gay gods (Ganymedes, Antinous)

Vesta, Diana and Minerva are outside the whole cishet dynamic too!! Some take them as lesbians. I kind of see them as aroace. I mean, we even have aroace rep in the gods!!!!

So yeah I just wanted to make a rant post over how happy I am that the divine is as queer as we, especially because I always struggle with finding shelter from homophobia in my daily life and coming from a conservative christian background... I feel so safe just looking at these great divine beings and seeing that they are just as queer as me
