Lon Suder should have lived so Tuvok & Harry could talk about their respective "I Can Fix Him" projects together. What if you were a criminal who had no regard for anyone's life least of all your own and I was the man who saved you from the pound despite your extensive bite history.

Happy(?) anniversaries to my blorbos <3 Can't believe so many anniversaries in one week!
I drew this last year and completely forgot to post it! That's why the numbers are wrong but shhh
S2E1 Amok Time: 15 Sept 1967 (birth of fuck-or-die, going into heat, slash fiction and modern fandom as we know it)
S4E1 Lazarus Rising: 18 Sept 2008 (Cas' first appearance, birth of Destiel)
S1E1 The Dragon's Call: 20 Sept 2008 (First ever episode of Merlin!)
Id under cut! Please click for quality!
[Image ID: A drawing of Spock from Star Trek, Castiel from Supernatural, and Merlin from BBC's Merlin. They are standing under a banner that reads "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!" and all look miserable.
Spock is spattered with either Vulcan sand or human blood, Cas is bleeding from a stab wound above his heart, and Merlin is surrounded by sparkling golden magic, including the Pendragon crest. Spock's shirt, Cas' tie, and Merlin's shirt are all the same shade of blue, and the blood and Merlin's neckerchief are the same shade of red.
A stock photograph of colourful confetti has been placed behind them.
Text pointing at each of them reads:
[At Spock] "Gone into heat for the 9th time in 56 years"
[At Cas] "[REDACTED] for 15 years"
[At Merlin] "Doomed by the narrative for 15 (+ 1,500) years
Cas is also saying "This sucks."
The work is signed by @aerialworms. /End ID]

Nadie tendría que tener un avión privado la verdad. Todos los vuelos deberían ser autorizados estrictamente por el estado y tenés que justificar por qué tomar un avión en vez de un tren. Los aviones son solamente herramientas para el desarrollo del estado. Aeroflot type of shit.

not going to lie as soon as Michael started talking about a first officer my mind jumped to Owosekun and Rhys and when Saru said Booker would make a good XO I was offended on their behalf because the man’s not even technically in starfleet

So, here me out. In the alternate timeline of 'Before and After' Harry gets with Linnis Paris AND he has a track record of falling in love with women whom it seems like it'd be impossible to date...so...wouldn't it be SO funny if-

Commission for @synthetic-witch of of her Star Trek Adventures character: Lt. J.G. Teya, a Bajoran Android, c.a. 2380.
Teya is a Bajoran-made android based on the work of Noonian Soong, developed in secret by Bajoran scientists during the Cardassian occupation of Bajor. She was discovered shortly after the end of the Dominion war, arriving on Bajor in a stolen shuttle, her creators nowhere to be found. She quickly became the subject of much fascination, particularly from the Vedek Assembly. They determined that this being, a marriage of both scientific and artistic creation, had a strong pagh, and her consciousness was seen as a gift from the Prophets themselves. Teya has an inquisitive and earnest personality, a strong love for the arts (particularly of the martial variety), and a desire to discover the value of being a synthetic person, distinct from biological organisms. In order to learn more about herself and the universe at large, she elected to join Starfleet. She has recently been assigned to the USS Cassandra, a Miranda-class ship whose mission is to serve as a technical testbed for cutting-edge technologies.
alt Lower Decks style version below the cut:

I actually did the Lower Decks style first. I didn't plan to make as many changes as I did to the rendered version--it was just going to be rendering on top of this solid color one, but I had some fun making all the changes, like making the uniform look more like the ones from SNW: Those Old Scientists. And more realistic eyes meant I could really get those data-style irises!

Something I find really interesting about TNG/DS9/VOY era Star Trek is how holodeck programs are implied to be one of the primary forms of entertainment for many people in the Federation, or at least in Starfleet. It’s straight up stated several times that visual media like movies don’t really exist anymore or at least aren’t common, and to me that implies that holodeck programs have in many ways replaced them. This would be sort of like if video games replaced movies and TV in our world. What does it mean for a culture’s primary form of media entertainment to be fully interactive? What does it mean that Holodeck programs almost always position the people using them as protagonists in their stories – as actively shaping events?
I think there are a lot of potential implications of this, but one I find interesting is the way in which it reflects the emphasis that Starfleet and to a certain extent the Federation as a whole place on individual freedom and the importance of individual choices. One of the primary “values” of Starfleet and the Federation often described in this era of Star Trek is the importance of self-actualization, or working actively to become a fulfilled individual. People no longer work for money, it is often said, but rather to become better people, to achieve great things and learn about the world, and to actively contribute to a positive future. In this view, the choices and actions of every individual are vitally important both to themselves and to the world as a whole. Individual responsibility is paramount. It makes sense, then, that a culture with this emphasis would embrace interactive media, where stories are actively shaped by the audience. Even in their free time, Starfleet officers are affirming their individuality, making choices as the protagonists of every story they are in.
