BACKGROUND

Born in Paris,France, when Isabella was just a young girl, she never had a childhood , her dad worked in a french organization as her mom was the same, she never really got to meet her parents because both her parents were being hunted down

As young Isabella got a golden pendant from her mother before her mother sends her off to Russia where she would join the Soviet Union But The other Soviet would just stare at her weird cause she’s different and would usually get made fun of

Sometime during her teen days as a Combrate, she befriended Arash Kadivar, who became her sparring partner and closest comrade. With the forces of "evil" approaching the Homeland, the military council of Of the Soviets decided to get the nukes in Solovetsky in order to expand Perseus' defenses. When Isabella and Arash were in the car they were talking about the nukes and the nukes detonating Solovetsky, but then Arash got out of the car then saying to her that Perseus thinks too highly of her before shooting both the driver and her. But then Adler, along with Mason and woods found Isabella who was still alive, and killed Kadivar.

Soon Adler took her into a place and started using MKUltra to brainwash her and transfer his memories onto hers with the help of Helen Park to help them find Perseus. that’s where she also met Aleks, Koa, And Anastasia, She became really good friends with all three of them

First, it was about the DaNang war back in the 1960s Meeting Adler and Sims. She helped the team and also gained the trust of the CIA and with missions with the help of the saying that triggered her by Adler,

“Bell, we've got a job to do."

After the nukes were over and Adler shot her in the head he knew what he did wrong and never wanted to brainwash her again so he carried her to the safe house to fix her up. When she woke up he apologized for it took bell a moment to forgive him because she was mad but he was forgiven and that’s where she met other Bells which were Vasili Sokolov and Helina Soldatova and learned about them that they were also bells.

James Earl Carter Jr. (born October 1, 1924) is an American politician and humanitarian who served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. A member of the Democratic Party, he was the 76th governor of Georgia from 1971 to 1975, and a Georgia state senator from 1963 to 1967. Carter is the longest-lived president in U.S. history and the first president to live to 100 years of age.

Carter was born and raised in Plains, Georgia. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1946 and joined the U.S. Navy's submarine service. A slow starter who unleashes his full power in the late game

A unique character who can use magic while being a knight. If you raise him, he learns basic offensive spells. The tradeoff is that his endurance and attack are not reliable. In the beginning he is half baked and might be useless, but if trained he becomes effective for both melee and ranged attacks. His stat growth later on is mindblowing.

When it comes to growth speed, her HP grows steadily as well, so she can become a reliable member to stay on the team for a long time.

Feeling indebted after the men of her country were rescued, she joined the Shining Force.

Depending on your strategy, she can be an immediate asset or a waste

An archer whose attack, defense, agility and movement are all average. Wielding only a bow, she's better at long distance attacks than close combat. She should attack from behind a character who's good at melee. Compared to the fellow archer Hans, only her defense is a little better, she doesn't surpass him in anything else.

If you protect her from the enemy's attacks, she can be a main fighting power.

Currently an inventor, but used to be an exemplar knight!

A hardworking inventor who wished with all his heart to be able to fly, and finally made that wish come true after 50 years. The people nearby regard him as a weird old man, but he's actually nice. Before building his flying machine, he worked as a knight for a kingdom. Because of that, he's skilled with a sword. That skill has been fading with age, but he can compensate on his moves by piloting well his flying machine.

[Note: I assume he was a knight somewhere other than Bustoke since Diane's entry says they don't have much of an army there, but the text is vague enough that it could be.]

Those who continue to chase their dreams don't lose their vitality

He's average all around. Defense is a low point, and might be the deciding factor in sending him to battle or not. He's weak due to being human, and pretty old, so it's hard to use him immediately.

His HP growth is a slow curve. However contrary to what you'd expect of his age, his other stats grow quite fast.

I was just thinking…

Julia is a whole twenty-six-year-old woman… and she’s in the “Junior Anti-Sex League.” A little odd, isn’t it?

Maybe her position is “junior” in the way there are junior officers in the military; meaning that an officer doesn’t necessarily have to be young, just inexperienced, to hold that rank. This theory (if true) implies that there is either an age limit to join; or that she waited to join until much later than her peers. If the latter is true, why did she choose to join? Maybe she joined out of fear of getting caught for being “disinterested” in Party activities; or maybe she was pushed by others because she was “gifted,” and played the devoted zealot a little too well.

It could also be that so many friends and lovers in her life had disappeared, and she was left so lonely and terrified after, that she needed some community — any community, no matter if it hurt her — for emotional support.

Or she could have been conscripted because sexcrime levels were on the rise, and they needed young, devoted people to “fight.”

The whole thing could be a cub scouts-type situation; in that most of the people in the group are actually of an adolescent age, but there are also a few adults who become “leaders” of the group after having been in it as a child.

So if this is true, Julia was once a “golden child” and worked her way up the ranks, and was eventually chosen because of her zeal and intensity to lead the new generation in love for BB. This makes sense, since Julia canonically is the person at the front of processions, waving banners; which is a job a person of more seniority and responsibility would be assigned. This raises has some implications for her deconversion process: Was she so disturbed by the Party’s brainwashing of children (after having seen and participated in it) that it woke her up? Did she decide to stay as a leader willingly, out of some hidden protective instinct, to make their lives in that hellscape a little more tolerable, perhaps by smuggling them food from the Inner Party?

Or, maybe did she not care at all for the children, and only decided to stay in the group so they wouldn’t rat her out (pun intended) like they do every other adult? Maybe she figured “If they look up to me, and I have control over them by enforcing the things they were taught, they won’t suspect me.”

When the Dominion War began, he was removed from his position and returned to the army ranks as a front-line soldier and small command tactician until the war ended. He was then returned to guard of the councilman who had survived through the war. When he was 29 (2379) he participated in the coup to overthrow the Romulan control over Reman and Remus and was resettled off of Reman by Starfleet and offered entrance into the academy after his involvement in the resounding battles. He remained at Starfleet to study for about 10 years and for the last 3 years of enrollment he refocused his studies to enable him to join as a crew member on a fleet vessel.

Grew up wanting to get involved with holotech and spent much of his childhood learning about coding and holography. He joined Starfleet for further knowledge and access to holotech that he could work with himself (holodecks are expensive) and initially studied holotech for his degree. When the Dominion War began he joined a fleet vessel as an ensign (ages 28-30) and fought for the full 3 years. During this time he developed his interest and love for navigation and flight, and upon returning to Earth he continued his education seeking a degree in navigation. One day he met Kristin, and after a couple of years they married in 2379 and settled in a house nearby the Academy where Kristin taught as a teacher. He was able to continue his education and also teach as a part-time professor himself at the Academy. After a over a decade of this though, he began to get a bit stir crazy and longed to fly again. He didn’t want to push Kristin, but he kept her involved in his thoughts on joining a ship and discussions with Starfleet personnel. Eventually she decided she wanted to join before he decided it would keep her happier to stay, and so they signed up to join a fleet vessel in the present year.

Met Phil when meeting with someone at Starfleet whose kid was in her class and he was enamored by how she tore the dad to bits for being a prick father. After they married (2379) they stayed in her hometown due to her job being there and his being near enough at the Academy. She was not interested in joining a ship, her fear of flying and space, her attachment to the families and life she had on Earth, and her not wanting to lose the rhythm of their marriage that they had found. However, she went with him when he was discussing placements and managed to boss her way into a teaching position on a vessel, trusting in her and Phil’s relationship and willing to push past her fear to ensure they could both be happy.

He goes by Tommy because he grew up with a puppy who his parents named Julius but Tommy insisted on calling Henry (to the point where the dog would only respond to Henry and his parents had to concede) because then “he would grow up to be a big man like me!” When the dog passed however, it was too painful for him to hear the name Henry, so he began to go by Thomas and eventually Tommy from his last name and it simply stuck as he aged into adulthood. He tells everyone that it was a nickname from a senior officer. He has never been really sure what he wanted to do, but space fascinated him and he found that the repetition of ship maintenance mechanical engineering could become maintainable for him and so he dove into it. Became friends with Tubbo through classes and they spent considerable time together. He began learning sign language so that he could better communicate with Tubbo, especially while the other’s aids were being adjusted or undergoing maintenance. Was on ground and not yet graduated during the Dominion War, but was able to sign on to this vessel as it left with his final semester.

Very much raised by the academy and it's teachers, researchers, and staff. He always wanted to go into space like his dad and his dad's friends and especially was interested in mechanics and warp technology. He attended Starfleet to get degrees that would enable him to fly, although his dream was paused due to the Dominion War. In the pause, he spent more time studying and learning all that he could while he was grounded. He became friends with Tommy while in classes together and they roomed together for their last few years at the Academy. While he was at Starfleet he was also able to work with other engineers to specialize his hearing tech to himself, and implanted the anchor for his scanner into his temple. Once the war ended and the new vessel was ready, he was able to sign on for the voyage.

Summary: Reader grew up with Illidan Stormrage. Everything was peachy until he betrayed everyone. Lusting for power, he turned to the dark side, while Y/N prepared for war. Pairing: Illidan Stormrage x High Elf!Reader Warnings: language, sadness and a nude reader Word Count: 1313

A/N: sooo this was supposed to be a multi-chapter fic but I didn’t wanna ruin it so there you go – one angsty piece of fiction.

Illidan felt his body give up. He pushed himself to his limits and so did his army of Illidari. Whoever was in charge of the Alliance division was a fine strategist. On the opposite side of the battlefield, Y/N felt exhaustion creep into her muscles and mind, and witnessed soldiers collapsing from fatigue. She knew the Legion would never give up but the lives of her soldiers were more important than her revenge. It's what she's been taught by Jaina. And one battle lost didn't mean they lost the entire war. She ordered the retreat and created a portal back to Dalaran while burning demons to a crisp. Y/N knew she was low on mana and made a difficult decision: she'd close the portal and stay behind. If everything went according to plan, all she had to do was stay hidden until she’d recover enough strength and mana to zap herself to the nearest Alliance city. "Eriser!" She called the dwarven warrior, "Take the men and go! We can't win!" "Not without you, lass!" Eriser replied, slashing his way through hordes of demons. "Yes without me! I can't hold it any longer, go, please!" "Men, retreat! RETREAT!" The dwarf yelled his lungs out. "Y/N, go through the fucking portal!"

"I'm sorry, Eriser..." she whispered, teleporting the warrior to Dalaran with the little mana she had left. She closed the portal, summoned her mount and ran for her dear life. As much as she wanted to stay and rip Illidan's heart out, she couldn't do that if she was dead. Calculating her next move, Y/N decided she'd hide in a cave, rest and recover, and then teleport herself to Dalaran. Even her Gryphon grew tired of flying so much, so when Y/N found a cave she retreated there. The first thing she did once she felt safe was to pull out her map and estimate where she was. Since the fight was in the North of Hellfire Peninsula and she flew straight South, Lyn guessed she was in Shadowmoon Valley, close to Terokkar Forest. "Fuck." The high elf whispered. "Fuck, fuck, FUCK!"

Demons were in swarms in Shadowmoon Valley and Illidan himself lived in the Black Temple. Y/M had to make a quick recovery and teleport herself as soon as possible. She didn't have enough mana to conjure something to eat or drink so she had to do this the hard way and just rest in enemy territory. Fortune was in her favour, though, at least for now, as the cave seemed uninhabited by any creature. Y/N ventured deeper into the cave and found a spring and a space she could bathe in. She stripped her armour and robe and soaked her feet into the cold water, eventually sinking her body into it. The water made her shiver but she got used to it after a while, embracing the cold. Y/N carefully cleaned her wounds and since no one was around to hear her, she sang a song. "Are you going to Darkmoon Faire: Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. Remember me to one who lives there. She once was a true love of mine." She sighed. She was so obsessed with avenging her family that she never thought of starting her own. To be fair, she didn't think it was possible to find love or even raise a child in such a... plagued world. And to think that she used to be in love with the very man she’s now fighting. "Tell her to make me a cambric shirt Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme Without no seams nor needle work Then she'll be a true love of mine."

"Your singing is as beautiful as your military strategies." A voice disturbed her ballad. She froze in place, not because of the cold water, but because she knew she was going to die soon. "Illidan Stormrage. Betrayer!" Y/N hurled a ball of fire to her enemy, a mistake which cost her more time to recover, as she almost lost balance and had to lean on rock for support. "Save your mana, mage. I'm not here to fight." Illidan dismissed her and her fireball. "I wouldn't attack someone who can't defend herself." He added, taking a seat on a stumpy stone and groaning from the pain of his wounds. "You took everything from me! My parents, my brother! He was only a boy!" She cried out, the pain in her own wounds incapacitating her as well. Illidan sighed. He was oh so tired of people not understanding his sacrifices. He didn't betray his kind, he saved them. He will save them. The demon unwrapped the bandages covering what was supposed to be his eyes and rubbed his forehead. The mage was confused, enraged and slightly embarrassed. His blindness didn’t stop him from seeing her figure, he just couldn’t distinguish her features. "Do something! Say something, you fucking monster-" "I didn't kill your family!" Illidan cut through her words, his voice louder than hers. "I did not kill your family, the Legion did. And you, just like everyone else, think I betrayed you when in fact, you all betrayed me." He finally shut up, his last words mere whispers that echoed in the cave. Y/N’s lower lip trembled. She was on the verge of crying, and she hadn't shed a tear in ages. Was this demon delusional? He joined the enemy, he turned his back against his race, his people. She moved to the edge of the pool and dressed herself in her robe, the material and hugging her curves. "You..." Illidan spoke again, "Should understand what it means to sacrifice yourself for the greater good." Y/N watched him carefully, a brow raised at his affirmation. "I watched you on the battlefield. You took your chances and made a choice, knowing exactly what risks that choice entailed. For your people, not for yourself. You were willing to die for them." He continued. "And I joined the Legion so I could strike it from its very core." The elf pondered Illidan's words. And in a way, what he said made sense. But he was still a demon. And demons were nothing but cruel liars. A minute ago she was ready to slit his throat for killing his family, now she's confused and clueless. "But," he added, "you and your Alliance are never going to trust a demon. It's understandable. I'm sorry for your loss but don't blame me for what the Legion did. I am not the Legion. And I will never be the Legion." Silence echoed through the cave for what seemed like an eternity, and the only sounds that could be heard were the beatings of their hearts and the ripples of the water. Y/N shed a tear, after holding back for so many years, she shed a tear. And after it, another came. And another. And another until her cheeks were wet, the salty drops dripping down her chin and neck. "I've spent lifetimes learning how to fight. Learning how to kill. Learning how to kill you! I never wanted this life and after so many decades you expect me to give it up? What, because you're innocent?" Y/N shattered the silence with her broken voice. "No, I expect you to keep fighting and never give up until either you or the Legion are out of breath." "I- wh-." She stuttered. Her glossy eyes looked into his fiery orbs. "Will you just finish the song?" Illidan asked, his voice softer than ever, if that was even possible. “Please.” She nodded. "Tell him to find me an acre of land Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme Between the salt water and the sea strand Then he'll be a true love of mine. Are you going to Darkmoon Faire? The famous samurai is a famous character in Japanese culture. Samurai have been around for centuries and they are often the center of attention in many films, novels, and video games that are set during this time period. However, not everyone knows who some of these famous samurai were or what their stories entail. The samurai were a very well respected and powerful group of people. 1) Miyamoto Musashi (1584 – 1645)

Born in 1584, Myamoto Mushashi was a famous and accomplished soldier, swordsman, and artist. When he was on the losing side of Battle Sekigahara in 1600 then he became ronin samurai which meant that his lord no longer recognized him as an official member of their army because they had lost this battle.

Miyamoto Musashi was a Japanese swordsman and philosopher who developed the two-sword technique known as nito ichi ryu. His reputation is so great that he has been referred to by other names, including kensai meaning sword saint or satsujin shoji which means killing machine in English.

He had many duels against rivals but his most famous fight occurred on an island with Saski Kojiro - ending quickly when Miyamato struck him over the head with a wooden sword after this duel, he retired from society despite teaching select students and helping suppress rebellions such as Shimabara of 1637.

Myamoto Mushashi was a great painter and author of the famous Book of Five Rings. He also wrote many other books on his martial art, philosophies, or sumi-e style paintings as well as bird paintings which are renowned in particular for Shrike Perched on Withered Branch (Kobokumeikakuzu) and Wild Geese Among Reeds (Rozanzu).

Myamoto Mushashi is most famously known for being an influential Japanese warrior who mastered multiple forms of combat from different cultures such as kenjutsu to jujitsu.

2) Toyotomi Hideyoshi (1537 – 1598)

Toyotomi Hideyoshi lived from 1536/37 to 1598 and served as chief Imperial minister. He helped finish to 16th-century unification of Japan, helping create the country we know today.

Born a peasant in Azumato Province (modern day Nagoya), Toyotomi Hideyoshi left home when he was still a boy and became page at one feudal lord's mansion where he met Oda Nobunaga who would become his mentor for life - or so it seemed until this great man rose through ranks becoming samurai under him before joining armies fighting other clans trying unify all of Japan with their own rule into what you see now on your map.

Hideyoshi, the man who would later build a castle in Osaka and become one of key figures in Japan’s unified government. He clashed with Tokugawa Ieyasu during Nobunaga's attempt to unify the country but their alliance remained strong. Hideyoshi was then appointed as an important minister by his lord Toyotomi Otomo so that he could continue pacifying regions without conflict from other lords like Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Toyotomi Hideyoshi was responsible for solidifying the caste restrictions that marked Tokugawa Japan. Farmers, merchants and monks were forbidden from taking up arms while warriors as well as artisans, farmers and tradesmen could only be found in their own areas of towns or villages due to strict segregation enforced by law.

3) Tokugawa Ieyasu (1543 – 1616)

The son of a local lord, Matsudaira Takechiyo was born in 1542. He came into his own during the era when Japan's civil war and feuding lords left it mired with violence and death.

After being sent to the Imagawa clan at four-years old, Ieyasu was raised with education in their court for 15 years. In 1567 he finally took over his family’s position and changed his name to Tokugawa after returning home from a life of exile.

He had a successful military career and ran his own town in the east of Japan. He was given governance over Edo where he established Tokyo, transforming it into what we know today as an international city with millions living there.

After the unfortunate death of his ally Toyotomi Hideyoshi, civil war broke out again. Ieyasu won the war and gained the title of shogun, becoming a military governor in Japan as well as its ruler with few limits on power. So began Tokugawa's rule over all but name for what would be three centuries to come until he passed away at age 80 in 1616 after having been ill for months beforehand due to illness or old age is not precisely known.

His mausoleum at Nikko has become one of most important shrines and was commissioned by Shogun himself from an artist who had taken up residence near Nagasaki during his time there trading with foreign merchants while simultaneously keeping firm control over Christianity-dominating Europe.

4) Oda Nobunaga (1534 – 1582)

Oda Nobunaga's story is the source of many others, but it’s well worth knowing on its own. Born in 1534 and living through a deeply fractured Japan where warlords frequently clashed against one another often causing much death and destruction before he came to power, Oda nobunaga was viewed by some as both an oppressive tyrant and a national savior.

Nobunaga was an eccentric figure. When his father died and left him to take care of the family’s land, he took it with a strange sense of entitlement, associating freely with peasants below their station as well as shunning many traditions that were important under feudalism such how wearing funeral garb at one's own elaborate burial rites. Nobunaga would also break protocol in other areas like when Hirate Masahide committed suicide after being offended by Nobuna ga during said ceremony--the first time anyone had ever done so--- but this event seemed to shock into reality for the young boy who then went on to unite Japan through force instead of diplomacy or succession rights established within Yamato clan itself .

With the help of a few uncles, Nobunaga gained control over his land. He was not in power for long before he faced challenges from one brother and later another that only ended when both were killed by him. All of this happened while other feudal lords sought their own place among them.

The legacy of Nobunaga led to Tokugawa Ieyasu and his allies' unified, more stable Japan. This was because Nobunaga died before he could unite all of the country with a single government.

5) Kusunoki Masashige (1294 – 1336)

When Kusunoki Masashige was born in 1294, he had already been indoctrinated into the Akuto. This group of samurai banded together to form a new government that did not belong to the present regime and despised how under-rewarded they were for their actions fighting against Mongolia. A man with such passion would be destined for greatness - and so it is no surprise when one learns about his early life as an active member of this organization after being raised by parents who belonged themselves.

The Emperor, Go-daigo (96th emperor of Japan) was forced to flee when his plot for take down the government was revealed. He found refuge at Mt. Kasagi in south Kyoto and declared war on the Government who were against him because he wanted revenge after what they did to him years ago which is why he's been plotting this since then. Masashige pledged loyalty towards GOdaijo as one of first people who would help overthrow those cruel men from power so that no more innocent lives are lost just like how many others had died before them too due to their selfish behavior!

The soldiers of Kusunoki Masashige were not like other warriors. They didn't wear fine armor or swords, but they threw rocks and poured boiling water on those who tried to assault their castle in Kawachi! With the tide turning against them after news of the Emperor's arrest, he opted to burn down his castle and flee without ever being captured by government troops.

Masashige rallied his men and 1,000 locals in Osaka. The government responded in force by laying siege to the small army cutting off their supply lines but Masashige anticipated this and created a secret path for supplies that led to victory as starving forces instead starved with no new provisions from outside sources coming into play which also prompted Emperor Go-Daigo's return who then lead renewed efforts against the Shogun regime.

The samurai had been shortchanged and did not receive the land that they so desperately needed to get them out of poverty. Another rebellion rose in Kysusu, led by Ashikaga Takauji, whom Masashige was able to escape with after he saved his life during this time period.

Masashige encouraged the emperor to make peace, but he refused. He then tried to walk the Emperor into fleeing into exile, but that was refused as well. In the end Masashige led an army with a slim hope for victory against Ashikaga’s forces of 200,000; his own were 899 men strong and lost many on their journey in battle when they finally met near Osaka by 1336 AD where he succeeded suicide after being outnumbered so greatly..

Masahide's devotion and cunning have made him a very popular samurai hero especially within his native city-state (Osaka).

6) Hattori Hanzo (1542 – 1597)

Hattori Hanzo was a fearless warrior who performed many feats in service of the Tokugawa clan, including rescuing Tokugawa Ieyasu's daughter from a castle and laying siege to another. Born around 152 AD, he served until his death at 55- some sources state that this happened suddenly while hunting or died during battle with pirates on an island off the coast of Kyushu.

7) Sanada Yukimura (1567 – 1615)

Yukimura was born in 1567 and was known as A Hero who may appear once in a hundred years” and “Crimson Demon of War. His clan, the Sanada, caught up with wars between Oda Nobunaga forcing themselves to fight on different sides when Tokugawa took power after his death. Yukimura fought valiantly against them during Winter Siege at Osaka Castle causing many losses for enemy forces while he himself had smaller force size than that of enemies there.

I think you're tired of hearing about how Yukimura died, but in case it's not clear: he was fighting against Tokugawa forces and they managed to get him. The siege on Osaka castle went well for a while with him leading his troops during the battle until he finally conceded defeat after being completely outmatched by an enemy force that vastly outnumbered them at nearly 10-1 odds.

The defender of Osaka, exhausted and low on supplies but still as formidable as ever. Yukimura Sanada was a powerful general in the late Sengoku period who defended Osaka Castle against overwhelming odds before finally capitulating to Tokugawa Ieyasu's forces after months' worth of bitter fighting.

This heroic warrior is said to have made one last plea with his enemies: "I am Sanada Nobushige."

8) Uesugi Kenshin (1530 – 1578)

A long time ago, a young man named Nagao Torachiyo led an army in the fight against Takeda Shingen. He was born to be one of Japan's most powerful warriors and leaders when he changed his last name as refuge for Uesugi Norimasa who then adopted him as his son.

After his power had reached its peak, the mighty Uesugi sought to overthrow one of Japan's most powerful lords. He bravely faced all odds but unfortunately died before he could start a battle with Oda Nodabunaga.

9) Takeda Shingen (1521 – 1573)

Takeda Shingen, a 1521-born feudal lord of Shinano Province and one of the warlords who struggled for power over the valuable Kanto Plain in eastern central Honshu. He is best known for his series of battles with another famous warrior by Uesugi Kenshin that became legendary. The two fierce commanders clashed fairly indecisively but cemented Takeda's influence as he became one of the most powerful military leaders in region.

He was most feared by Oda Nodabunaga, and after defeating an army led by Ieyasu he began to make inroads into Tokugawa territory. A year following his victory over the armies of both men, Takeda died at age 39. To this day many people celebrate him as a genius who had skills that should be celebrated throughout all Japan due to the film Kagemusha (Shadow Warrior) directed by Kurosawa Akira being created about him.

10) Date Masamune (1567 – 1636)

Date Masamune was an incredible tactician who led the Date clan to power. He had a remarkable ability for warfare, earning him such nicknames as "One-Eyed Dragon of Ōshu". At one point he broke alliances and conquered land in his quest to hunt down a defected vassal from Ashina clan. After this campaign, many battles ensued against neighboring clans.

Tokugawa Ieyasu showed no fear when he was forced to choose a side during the Tokugawa-Toyotomi civil war, but once his overlord Hideyoshi died and left him with nothing. A man of great character, he eventually took up arms on behalf of Tokugawa's faction after finding that there was not enough food for both himself and the people in his domain. He then lead them all to an unexplored location which would grow into Sendai City thanks largely due to its proximity from fishing waters--an ideal place for those who are hungry or need work!

Masamune was known for his great sympathy for the Christian population growing in Japan, only reluctantly allowing their persecution in his domain when Ieyasu outlawed Christianity. It is because of Masamune's patronage that there are now a small community of Japanese descendants living in Spain as they fled to escape from religious prosecution on home soil.

Masamune was a powerful samurai who changed the political and cultural landscape of Japan forever. He has been represented in many media that chronicle both real and imagined versions of his life, but this is only scratching the surface to how influential he really was!

11) Honda Tadakatsu (1548- 1610)

Honda Tadakatsu was a loyal servant of Tokugawa Ieyasu, and his contributions aided the success of countless battles. Perhaps being most noted for successfully leading evacuating troops from advancing Takeda forces before their decisive clash in 1584 during the Komaki Campaign, he would also go on to have great successes like breaking through an enemy's defensive line at Nagashino Castle with only 2 outposts left standing by nightfall after engaging them all day long.

His courage is said to have so impressed Toyotomi Hideyoshi, his foe in that battle, that he ordered a general ceasefire. Ieyasu was left with only a few troops but rode out and challenged the vast enemy host himself-and won! He continued to fight for Ieyasu through many battles and campaigns including Sekigahara where future shogun Tokugawa finally defeated him. It's hard not be inspired by this brave samurai who died protecting his lord at age 106 after serving him faithfully all those years ago.

12) Minamoto no Yoshitsune (1159 – 1189)

Yoshitsune was born in 1159, and is one of the most famous samurai's to have ever lived. He fought alongside his half-brother during Genpei War that led him on a path towards fame as he helped consolidate power with both humans and gods alike. Yoshitsune faced many challenges before embarking on this journey such as death at age 10 when overthrowing an attempted coup by court nobles leaded by Minamoto no Yoritomo who were seeking revenge for their father being killed from illness. It wasn't all bad though because after escaping execution himself thanks to monks taking care of him while residing within Kurama Temple.

Yoshitsune is a skilled samurai, the most respected and talented of his time. He took up arms against those who would take what belonged to him - that which was rightfully his by law. Against all odds he won every battle, liberating Japan from tyranny in the process as well as freeing it for himself following so many years spent without power or authority over anything at all."

Yoshitsune fell out of political favor when his brother Yoritomo schemed to end his growing power and forced him to flee Kyoto. He found refuge with Fujiwara no Yasuhira, son of the childhood protector he cherished so much. However, under pressure from Yoshitsune’s own brother-Yoritomo-he had a residence surrounded where Yoshitsune was staying at the time; defeated all retainers that were fighting for their lord in order to escape alive; and finally committed suicide."

A tragic hero as depicted by Japanese culture who has been deeply revered over many centuries: it is an open question whether or not Genghis Khan could have succeeded if without them knowing about this man's life story beforehand!"

13) Shimazu Yoshihisa (1533 – 1611)

One of the greatest leaders to ever live, Shimazu Yoshihisa was lord over Satsuma Province. Born in 1533 and died on March 5th 1611. He led his brothers uniting Kyushu which they claimed until Toyotomi Hideyoshi took it from them in 1600 but were defeated by him a few years later leading to their final years as Buddhist priests composing poetry that is cherished across Japan for its humility and skillful tactics!

A false chosen one

Now we go onto Ironwood's early years of his Huntsman career. Okay not much history or details to explore about the huntsmen academies other than their secret purpose. So we can just assume Ironwood did and completed his 4 years of education and enlisted soon after. But we can guess that he at least participated in 2 Vytal festival tournaments during his curriculum.

My best guess during his first tournament he most likely met his fellow future headmasters(Theodore and Lionheart) for the first time as well as to be noticed by his other hero as well(The Warrior King of Vale).

Now you’re asking why would a past Oz incarnation be his hero? Will to start the warrior king pretty much set and laid the groundwork and structure of the current modern world of remnant that every kingdom most likely tells to their next generations. And let's be honest any child would be at awe about a story of a king let alone one with an epic tale of war and POWER(emphasis on the power for Atlasians).

Now picture this;

You're the perfect model of an Atlasian citizen. You are training in one of the world's most prominent careers where you are exposed to the outside influences of other kingdoms and societies that yours has taught you are beneath you. But you are stunned and amazed by how lower societies have accomplished so much that your left wondering is my kingdom the greatest?

And you perform so well that the current Oz incarnation notices you. And you amazed him so well that he invites you and gives you the promises of grandeur and the ability/power to help aid/change the world for the better. And soon after accepting his proposal and endorsement he lets you in on the secret; That he is the reincarnation of your hero and asks for your help with his war.

That could serve as a first meeting between a young Ironwood and the man with two souls. Now you're wondering why I say past oz incarnation instead of the king or Ozpin? With the new information confirming(sorta) Ozpin's age and dialogue of Ironwood inV2 & V7 it is in my theory that there have been 4 Oz incarnations that have affected the current rwby story and characters at present

The Warrior King of Vale/ Founder of the Huntsmen academies and ended the Great war

Ozpin's predecessor/ Recruited the current members of the secret brotherhood of Oz (STRQ) and Raised Atlas to the sky

Ozpin/ Teacher of STRQ The Headmaster of Team RWBY and guider of the events of V1-3

Oscar/ The Current incarnation and bystander of V4-present

Given this it is quite possible (since we don't know his age) the King had died sometime prior to ironwood's birth or childhood. Leaving a new incarnation to meet and recruit him. Now why would middle Oz choose Ironwood? A random nobody that hails from the world's most faccist inhuman warmongering kingdom that engages in periods of isolationism and hoarding power with the potential intent of starting a new war. Well that's probably it.

We don’t know much of the Treaty of Vytal but we can assume it's like the Treaty of Versailles of WW1; were harsh penalties had been emplaced on the losing side which led to loss of territory, economic distress and demilitarization, and a very large amount of humiliation in the years to come. Which led to the rise of Hitler and the Nazi’s as well as WW2

Now we know Mantle had nearly depleted its natural resources which led to economic instability and despite how well advanced their technology was they still lost to Nations that they considered below them. Another comparison is despite the “ quote on quote” gifting to the world their assets it could be intrepid as a subtle demilitarization act forced upon Mantle by the rest of the world as to limit their Military strength to ensure that they would not be able to start a new war.

Now what does this have to do with Ironwood? Just like how the treaty of Versailles screwed Germany and led to the rise of the Nazi’s and WW2 the treaty of Vytal screwed Mantle and led to the rise of Atlas and the conflicts of RWBY.

Mantle passed on its toxic ideology to Atlas and now it buys its time to wait so that it can make its grab for power in the future and achieve what Mantle couldn’t; the World under their rule.

The current Oz at this point in time has already seen the signs of this and is trying to avoid war in the most subtle way possible as he no longer has the status of the Vale king anymore and figures that the potential warmongering Mantle would listen and be swayed by one of their own instead of a forgein leader that has yet to earn their respect.

Insert the Vytal festival tournament with Ironwood participating for the first time. From the perspective of this Oz he sees a potential candidate to be his political figure head of an unstable kingdom with a war is the answer mentality. This Oz doesn’t want a figurehead because he wants to but because he needs to if he wants to uphold the fragile peace that his past king self had accomplished and tried to maintain.

But sadly due to reincarnating he has lost that influence and has to rebuild it which takes time, time that he does not have. So he must elevate others to be able to influence people that he can’t. This is where Ironwood comes in as a native of Mantle and born during its social transition to Atlas Oz hopes that he can make this promising huntsman into someone that can help carry and pass on his ideals of peace and stability in hopes of avoiding another war for Salem to take advantage of.

Ironwood now being informed by the introduction of secrets to get him hooked and joining Oz’s group is more than willing to help. Especially after believing Oz’s promises to him. Now you're wondering what promises. My evidence is what said Qrow in V6;

No one wanted me... I was cursed... I gave my life to you because you gave me a place in this world... I thought I was finally doing some good… Meeting you... was the worst luck of my life…

Oz appeals to and makes promises to those that he recruits whether or not he follows through on them is up to debate. From this we can assume he promised ironwood something similar.

The only difference between the 2 is that one had a very unhealthy opinion of himself and tried to search for meaning in his life while the other is a stark contrast by being sorta healthy with himself and had found meaning by serving and later leading his Kingdom. As well as the difference between their relationships to the man with two souls.

Ironwood was more or less loyal to the incarnation before Ozpin as he saw this as his hero back from the dead to ask for his help. Even elevating him to positions of power and status that he may not have been able to achieve on his own just to do that. This is probably why Ironwood didn’t just freak out and overreact immediately and lash out because this is coming from a man who he hopes was the man who had kept his promises to him and rewarded him.

While Qrow was more or less buddy, buddy with Ozpin during his time at Beacon, who had offered him a place with meaning and purpose to replace his world of loneliness and self pity as well as redemption. But when the truth is exposed he just condemns Ozpin ignoring Oscar for empty promises instead of realizing the truth that Ozpin was only meant to show him the path and that he was the one who to take it. To put it quite simply Ozpin was there to help guide Qrow to see the good that he already is as well as deal with his issues in a healthy way.

(Now that I think about it Qrow and Ironwood actually parallel one another in terms of narrative and character.)

Point is Ozpin’s past incarnation had a major influence over Ironwood to the point the he along with his Atlasian brainwashing had led Ironwood to believe that he was this chosen savior that he was the hero that was destined to win that he can do no wrong because his ideals and heritage told him so or at the very least didn’t correct his thinking.

When in reality OZ wanted a guardian that would keep the status quo not the Soldier who wanted to change the world as he saw fit. (Hence the section title a false chosen one) In Doing so he ended up instigating all of the conflicts of rwby under the intentions of good only to lead from bad to worst if not catastrophic.

Simply because Oz didn’t keep his ambitions in check and make it clear that he was meant to be a loyal lap dog that heels to his owner. Instead Ironwood became the rabid dog that's all bark and no bite. This has resulted in Ironwood developing a false sense of chosenness and that it is either his way or the highway.

Another thing to look at is even though this Oz had his influence on ironwood he was however too late as the ideology and philosophy of Mantle/Atlas had already consumed his mind so much that even though he was willing to embrace the outside world his mind would be forever locked and kept to the kingdom he hailed from.

Now with the outside influences outside let's see the opinion of how he sees himself and why he would think of himself as this chosen savior and the potential events that led to that mindset.

My OCs

Okay okay so these are my OCs, I’m sorry if their names aren’t really Japanese I googled most of their names back when I started creating them. I hope you enjoy them and well let's get started. I didn’t include Sky aka Shirakumos daughter even though technically she is one of my OCs, I felt that since I have introduced her in my fics *by name* I’ll leave her a rather blank slate for yall *I can describe her as well if yall want that though*. Hope you like them and yes some of the quirks were inspired by Avatar. Love ya💖💖💖

Kenushima Akane

Akane is in her mid 20s, her birthday is on 30th of December making her a Capricorn and is part of our favorite villain group, the LoV. She was the eldest child of two pro heroes who married because it would satisfy the media and boost their careers. She had two younger siblings, the twins Annya and Arakan. She is around 5’7 (170cm) with fairly long auburn hair which are always braided so they don’t get in her way, amber eyes and a burn mark on her right shoulder from a small scuffle with our favorite fire user. Her hair and eyes become a dark red when she uses her quirk making her even more menacing. She wears a black mask over her eyes, keeping that way her identity a secret and a rather tight uniform consisting of black leather overall-shorts matched with a black-red plaid shirt and thigh highs with black military boots. Her weapon of choice is anything you can swing. Her quirk is a powerful blood bending type which she inherited from her mothers’ side. She can control the blood in someones’ system to the point of a heart attack or a stroke. Once the blood is out of the persons’ system she can still wield it, sharpening it into a blade like shape and cut through both flesh and bone, the new blood adding to the power of her makeshift blade. Her limits begin when she gets a nose bleed followed by either her eyes or ears starting to bleed as well; the final stage is giving herself a heart attack but she has never reached that point thankfully. It’s a self-destructive quirk since she pushes her body’s boundaries everytime she activates it, making her vulnerable to diseases after a particularly hard fight. She is a master of many forms of martial arts, kicking anyone's ass without even having to use her quirk. Her family is wreck *lmao*. Since her parents married out of convenience the kids were results of moments of weakness between the two adults. Her household wasn’t very affectionate, partnered with her fathers’ constant absence and negligence and her mothers overly obsessive quirk demands, her relationships soon turned abusive. Excessive training and brutal punishments were her mothers’ tactics to ensure a picture perfect quirk state which she could boast about in the media. Her father was a decent figure during the sparse moments when he was actually in the house. He treated his kids with some trace of humanity and not like objects but he too didn’t really care. Everything went downhill when rumours of affairs surfaced and her mother lost her senses, killing their father on the kitchen floor before getting to the children. Akane tried to protect her siblings but was easily tossed aside by her mother and she doesn’t remember what actually happened that night. The only thing she knows for sure is that she was now an orphan and one sibling short, losing both her home and her brother that night. She didn’t stay in foster care for long since she dipped, joining a group of castaways called the Deck. Due to her quirk she was named the Queen of Hearts and became one of the most feared and powerful villains in Japan. Soon she joined the LoV after Shiggy approached her, officially meeting Dabi *who is her s/o btw lol*. She’s still close with her little sister Annya and owns a bookstore so she won’t have to steal. She has morals *shocker*, killing only those who have comitted crimes varying from abuse to murder or fraud. She is against useless killing and would prefer to clear the streets from scum rather than litter it with herself. She’s kinda like an anti-hero. She joined the LoV so she could have easier access to the insights of the hero industry and slowly help take out those hero frauds. She likes cooking Mexican food, her favorite animal is the fox and she is deathly afraid of spiders to the point she once burned her table using a lighter and hairspray because she had seen a spider on it. All in all she is a lovely person *I think*.

Kenushima Annya

Annya is 15 and part of class 1-A, her birthday is on the 3rd of January *like me heh* making her a Capricorn. She is the youngest of a twin set and has an older sister, while her parents were pros. She is around 5’7 (170cm) with shoulder length dark brown hair, amber eyes and faint lightning like scars scaling down both of her arms. Dark lavender streaks appear in her hair when she over uses her quirk and her scars shine the same color many times pulsating along with the surges of her blasts. Her uniform consists of a tight black crop top with azure and magenta details alongside black pants, black boots which are specially designed to give her extreme jumping power helping her also levitate for a short period so she can unleash her attacks and lastly gloves that cover almost all of her scars *also black with the same patterns as the top*. Has basic combat skills but she mostly prefers to rely on her quirk. Speaking of her quirk, she has a combo of a water and a lightning quirk making her able to easily electrocute others without short circuiting like Kami. She can control any form of water, making her easily overpowered in seaside missions but she can also control any liquid which has some water in it. However she cannot create water from thin air, like Shoto can make ice, and she can’t freeze it. Much like her sister she uses water mostly as a whip or a blade. Lightning is used mainly as one of her ultimate moves since she doesn’t have full control over it and it tends to hurt her scars when she does use it. She can let the purple strings of light course through her and hit her target with incredible force making her excellent for range attacks. Just like her sister she reaches her limits when her nose starts to bleed and she can pass out from dehydration due to her quirk using up some of the water inside of her body with each attack. Now for her family life. She was a late bloomer and that was unacceptable according to her mother. She didn’t showcase signs of having a quirk until the age of 9 when her mother attacked her and her siblings. In a fit of rage and despair her mother tried killing her for ruining the familys’ image with her quirklessness. Her twin brother tried to save her from her mother *just like Akane did* only to be tossed aside as well, hitting the back of his head on a nearby table. Seeing both of her siblings on the ground *and almost being choked to death by her abuser* Annya activated her quirk, losing complete control over her powers resulting in her scars and the death of her mother. Arakan was pronounced dead on arrival leaving the two girls the only surviving members of the Kenushima family. After Akane’s disappearance, Annya was moved from home to home for about a year before being adopted by a couple and living as much of a normal life as she could. Her mental health isn’t the best as one can imagine, suffering from PTSD from the incident and having self hating tendencies. Becoming a hero is her way of proving to herself that she’s not a monster and that she can indeed help others. In class 1-A she tends to hang out with the Dekusquad and two other girls who I’ll introduce down the line. Her hero name is Electra and her s/o is Shoto *lol siblings are dating siblings tf*. She likes Autumn and Winter, loves going ice skating, has many plants in her room and loves watching horror movies with her friends.

Aizawa Kaiya

Kaiya is 15 and part of class 1-A despite her father being the homeroom teacher. Her birthday is on the 19th of June making her a Gemini. She sports the legendary jet black hair, her hair is also pretty long so she always has to braid it or put it up in a ponytail and she has egirl bangs *I don’t know how else to describe them*. Her eyes are a striking azure and she has dyed the tips of her hair the same color. Ya girl is shorter than the Kenushimas, barely reaching 5’2 (160cm). Her hero costume consists of black cargo pants with multiple pockets, a black turtleneck and chest straps(?) around her waist and collarbone finishing the look with black military boots. Sometimes she might wear a gas mask which helps her control her breathing. Now for her quirk. It’s some type of psychic power, she can hear people’s thoughts making it easy for her to know what they are about to do, giving her the upper hand almost every time, but she can aslo channel her own and others thoughts and make dark shards out of them. These shards can be thrown with amazing speed or create a protective wall in front and above her. Her quirk ,though drains her very easily, making it hard to breath and walk in a straight line. She gets light headed while the voices inside her head get overly loud. Through practice she can push her boundaries and use more of her quirks’ power. Lastly in order for her to hear your thoughts she needs to see you. Once she sees you for even a quarter of a second, she can see into your head even long after you have left her line of sight. Her family life is very calm compared to the Kenushimas. She is the daughter of Aizawa’s sister who vanished when Kaiya was five. Having no one else to care for her since her real father wasn’t in the picture, Aizawa took his niece in and raised her as his own. She was too little to remember her mother and for years she believed that Shouta was her actual dad but Dadzawa did tell her the truth. Nothing really changed, she still calls him dad and they have a lovely father-daughter relationship. She loves Eri and loves being her older sister, playing with her, doing her hair and taking her to the dorms to meet her friends. She has a pet cat named Majesty who she uses to bribe Aizawa to buy snacks. She likes rainy days, beating Shinsou’s ass during training, being pinned by Shinsou while training, Halloween, cats and fluffy blankets. She is friends with mostly Annya, Shinsou and Sky but she doesn’t mind hanging out with the Deku or the Baku squads. Her hero name is Calypso. Her s/o is Shinsou much to Aizawa’s dismay. He is salty because this happened right under his nose, Dadzawa was too busy looking out for the 1-A boys that he completely ignored his trainee pinning his daughter down during training *he is really glad that she likes Shinsou bc he knows that he is a good kid*.

Hamilton!firstprince au

(cross posted from twitter with a couple of edits b/c i couldn’t make them there)

in which i loosely follow the plot of hamilton except its firstprince and alex and henry get a happy ending. inspired by the striking similarities i noted between our favorite first son and his namesake hamilton in the broadway musical

the similarities:

both have/will have a political career

both often talk too much/don't mind their words

both began as lawyers

both extremely motivated but overwork themselves (“nonstop” + “you have a fire under ur ass for no good goddamn reason)

both had some sort of sex scandal that impacted their career plans

hamilton speculated to be bi

the story

the setup of the colonized country alex lives in is similar to the usa vs england but fictional bc alexs race would have limited his opportunities in america's early years

idk names for either of these countries so its now the colony and the motherland

alex + his mom live alone in the poorer southern part of the colony

but his dad + june live elsewhere + they dont rly contact e/o (tho they do know of e/o’s existence)

june becomes a journalist who writes important pieces abt independence

when alex comes of age his mom reveals she used to be part of the rebellion

thats actually why his dad left to raise june bc it was too dangerous

his parents met in the rebellion but oscar left first for june while ellen stayed until she realized she was pregnant w alex

ellen still has some rebel contacts but she mostly sheltered alex to keep him safe

now tho alex decides to join too + the rebellion sends him up north to the capital for an education bc he's smart + they need people like that

he attends uni + meets like-minded people there

tension grows btwn the colony in the motherland, and alex + his friends write/speak out often and this goes on throughout their schooling

they’re also troublemakers in general too, much to the annoyance of the motherland soldiers stationed in the capital to prevent rebellion

henry is one of those soldiers

he's from a noble family in the motherland but was sent overseas as the sort of black sheep of the family due to his sexuality

the idea was to let him be in charge in the colony + reestablish a reputation there w/o embarrassing the main family back home

henry hates his job + feels bad for the colonists but still does what he's told anyway

alex + fhis riends like to bug motherland soldiers for fun

nothing enough to put their lives in danger too much (although yes that too esp when drunk)

henry becomes a favorite target of alex's bc he's awfully stoic + statue like + on the way to uni - overall fun to antagonize

there's also the fact that alex is angry at all the soldiers for oppressing the colony + holding up the motherland monarchs tyranny (but also alex just is the type to fight literally everything and anything)

it becomes almost a daily ritual for them to argue

henry wonders why this colonist keeps on picking a fight w him but soon almost looks forward to it

many of the other soldiers know or speculate why henry is in the colony but none make the effort to get to know him; some even call him arrogant or undeserving of his position

alex doesn't

of course alex also doesn't know him

and alex hates him

but he doesn't whisper behind henry's back

henry comes to read some of the essays alex publishes speaking out against the monarchy + also hears alex speak to crowd in the square

alex is a talented + charismatic public speaker

henry finds himself growing increasingly sympathetic to the colonists cause

at the same time he and the other soldiers are order to be stricter and dole out more punishments

the others gleefully do so which makes henry concerned about alex's safety bc alex often seems to have no self-preservation skills

henry asks alex for a word when he's alone

“am I in trouble?” “no but you bloody will be if u keep going on like this”

“this is serious” “so am I” “you can't go around saying things so openly you'll get yourself killed”

alex tries to leave at this point “I think I'll be ok” but henry shoves him against the nearest wall

cue enraged henry noises

alexs gaze turns hard “listen i appreciate/the advice” he says sarcastically “but I dont need an enemy telling me what to do. I can take care of myself”

there's a stirring in alexs chest after he removes henry's hand and stalks off that he's pretty sure is anger

like it can't be anything else

while alex is trying to convince himself of that, the tensions boil over + soon the two sides are on the brink of war then the fighting starts

henry + alex don't talk much for a while bc they're both busy on their sides preparing

school is on hold during the war so alex + his friends are looking to serve + bring glory to their names

alex esp is recognized for his intelligence + becomes the recognized general rafael lunas secretary

luna is the george washington figure in this case who is impressed by alex wants him as his right-hand man

alex is disappointed his role is not on the battlefield bc he knows he has a good tactical mind + he could change the tide of a losing war + gain honor and status thru it, which would put him in a good position to be elected in the future

as secretary, alex is in charge of a lot of important correspondence eg for more supplies + men, so the motherland soldiers figure ambushing him off the battlefield would make things hard for the colonists

henry overhears this plan + immediately worries for alex's safety but he's cornered by another soldier to talk strategy + misses the chance to take out the men then

henry manages to catch that they're going to attack alex at night when he leaves + henry arrives just in time to kill them in a panic

alex hears the gunshot + yells “drop ur weapon”, drawing his own gun

henry obviously does + alex inspects the scene he keeps a gun fixed on henry

“what's going on?” he asks, eyeing henry w/ suspicion

henry explains everything + looks positively terrified bc he just betrayed his side even tho the motherland and his family has treated him like shit since he came out but still.

becoming an outright traitor is not something henry ever planned + leaving behind everything he's ever known w no hope of ever going back is terrifying

but he also doesn't regret protecting alex

alex questions henry but can quickly tell henry is sincere + is telling the truth

henry explains his change of heart + they have a heartfelt moment in/just outside luna's office.

alex almost died + henry just switched sides, emotions are running high and they escalate into a kiss. the moon is out + it's all very romantic but they don't admit their feelings yet

soon after they go to luna, explain the situation + talk w the other generals/people in charge

henry is sent away on an assignment + is watched closely at first but he proves his loyalty quickly

henry and alex write letters back + forth that turn into love letters

besides managing correspondence for luna, some of alexs ideas of sneak attacks/stealing supplies help turn the tide of the war andhe also writes to other countries for foreign aid

eventually the colonists win in this huge up start that no one anticipated bc the motherland is known as the most powerful country in the world

he + henry reunite in the capital of once the war is over

alex finishes up his studies + practices law + soon is chosen to be part of the new lawmaking body

things are going pretty well for alex w his legal + political success and his relationship with henry

they dont live together but theyre dating tho no one else knows

alex pretends to be single instead + says he doesn't want to be tied down

it works while he's still in his early 20s but as he gets closer to 30, people start to find it strange + tell him he needs to settle

being married to his work is also not a valid excuse anymore

it turns out alex made quite a few political enemies due to his strong opinions that he always vocalises + can be unwilling to compromise on

they don't like his ideas or more often hate him and hence his ideas too

they look for some dirt on him bc atm he has lunas support which has a lot of sway + decide they need to find out why he hasn't married

they manage to find out about henry + threaten to tell the public

alex is obviously distraught re the consequences personally + politically

so alex and henry discuss what to do

henry is willing to put alexs political career 1st but firmly explains their relationship can't continue if that's the case

henry gave up his whole life + any possibility of going back to his family so he's not willing to be someone's dirty little secret

alex doesn't know what to do so he goes to consult luna who he's become very close with over the years

luna is not quite old enough to be his father but he's like an uncle + he always calls alex “kid”, much to alex's annoyance

but alex knows he'll have some good advice

alex + luna end up having a long conversation

like washington luna has always been very vocal abt his regrets re his naivety + desire for glory back in his youth

hes always said that this was his greatest regret in life. but then he tells alex like he had another great regret in life- letting go of the love of his life

alex is surprised bc luna's never mentioned anyone special

“who is she?”

“he” luna corrects “he was my best friend. we had something a relationship but it was short-lived bc I decided I wanted to join the military + attain glory. i thought thats what i wanted in life. turns out that stuff is meaningless w/o anyone to share it w. nor did I even achieve it. perhaps i did accomplish some things but now in my retirement I have no one by my side. i have found that life is meaningless without love and family.

“i tried to find my friend to reconnect after all these years even as simply friends but he died in the war. alex, I see many similarities between us. don't make the same mistake that I did, alexander. glory + lasting legacy mean nothing if you're alone in the end

“if you make choices that are motivated by love and family you will be a lot happier”

alex takes his advice even though he kind of hates sort of giving up to his enemies

he decides to choose henry and his own happiness over politics bc in the end he's done a lot of good work and that much is enough

also his enemies probably would try to blackmail him throughout his career if he was doing something against their interests

so he + henry leave the capital and move uptown and the two of them have a quiet retirement + engage in philanthropy for the rest of their lives

separately they've amassed a decent amount of money - henry kept a portion of his inheritance despite being unofficially disowned and alex made a lot of money as a lawyer and then politician

as it turns out alex still has a tangential role in politics when some of his former allies go to him for advice

all in all, alex happy with his final decision to be with henry and step away from politics

the two of them live happy and full lives together

Oz Sanchez: American Paralympic Hand-cyclist, Triathlete & former Marine discuss ways in which overcame a spinal cord injury.

Oz Sanchez

What was it like growing up in Oz Sanchez’s version of Los Angeles as a kid? “My parents were first generation immigrants into the States. Despite having no education, no prior experience wanted to raise their family in a typical American Dream. So, never-the-less, they did the best that they could. But there were a lot of stumbles and falls and what not. My dad worked pretty much seven days a week, 12 hours a day, for a large part of his career while we were growing up.”

On this episode of Finding Your Summit Podcast, we talk with Oz Sanchez who opens up about internal struggles that his mother dealt with. “My mother was a stay-at-home mother. Mother had a lot of childhood trauma. She was severely depressed. I recall she attempted suicide once and I walked in on her while she was bleeding out in the bathtub. I’m somewhere between 8-11 years of age. Much of my childhood, because of this trauma and my mechanisms to survive in this environment, was my blocking out memories all together. So, much of my childhood experience is almost a blank slate unfortunately. But we did the best that we could.”

What You Will Learn:

What was Oz’s relationship with his siblings like? “I have a twin sister and an older brother. My older brother always seemed to have a plan. He executed on that plan. He was gonna get his good grades, go on to college with an alternative path of joining the military, and he did that to the tee. I remember him sharing this with me somewhere when he was 15. He is two years my senior. So I was 12-13. Then myself and my twin sister just kind of go with the flow, product of our environment. Very much one direction to the next was more so to do with who we were hanging out with.”

Oz describes what his early teen years were like when he was trying to find himself. “We (Oz and his sister) go into using meth when we were 13-14 years of age. We didn’t have a sense of belonging at home, or a community, or a family if you will. So, the brain says, ‘I have to find that somewhere.’ So some of us joined bands. Some of us joined sports. At that age, we sort of joined the gang mentality, and we gravitate towards that. I would say what probably kept me from going off too far on the deep end was that my sort of self-therapeutic mechanism. It was sports, and I leaned into sports. I got into mountain biking really early, I think at 13 years of age.”

What was Oz’s initial introduction to the military? “We grew up in an area where we had an alleyway, me and my brother would skateboard or me and my amigos that we would skateboard with. Around the corner was both the county courthouse and all four branches of military recruiting. So, we were very much imprinted and attracted to the posters and the billboards that were around this recruiting station all of the time. I can remember as far back as being 6-years-old, just always being impressed and being impressed upon by these billboards.”

How did Oz Sanchez ultimately sign up to become a Marine? “I ended up getting in a situation where we got picked up for looting and I lied to the judge saying I had plans to join the service and if I did any kind of time for looting than I would be ineligible and he doesn’t want to be responsible for ruining my life. Yadda, yadda, yadda. I wasn’t in any way this articulate about it. But he bit off on it. He obviously probably had a better idea what was going on that I did. He said come back here with some documentation and a recruiter possibly, and we will take it from there. So, I went across the street to the recruiter, told him my situation. It is a big sham. I want you to help me out. I don’t want to actually join, and the whole thing backfired in my face, and that is how I ended up in the Marine Corp.”

Were the rigors of Marine life a difficult transition for Oz Sanchez? “In boot camp, I didn’t really suffer a whole lot because, one I was pretty fit. I had sort of gravitated towards physical fitness. At about 6-7 years of age I remember I would do 100 ab crunches, and sit-ups, and push-ups, before going to sleep damn near every single night. Why was I doing this? I don’t know because nobody in my family prior to my brother and I, or in my generation I should say as well, really worked out. So, where that influence came from I have no idea. But I did have this thing to self-sooth because I was a really angry kid because of what we had going on at home.”

Motorcycle Accident

How did Oz Sanchez’s past motorcycle accident occur? “Now that I have worked through a lot of emotional stuff, I can say it was much in a large part to my own carelessness, excessive speeding, a lot of it. Sure, there was another car that ran through a stop sign. But if I wasn’t doing 65-70 in a 35-mile-an-hour zone, I probably would have had no problem evading the vehicle. But, since I was speeding, I ended up laying my bike down and having my accident, and breaking my back.”

Fate vs. Destiny

During this episode of Finding Your Summit Podcast, Oz Sanchez compares fate and destiny and their roles in our lives. “Fate is not something we can influence. But destiny is something we can actually manipulate. The difference is that fate is like if a hurricane comes in or a thunderstorm, or a tidal wave and takes your home or whatever. There is nothing you can do around that. But destiny is a different thing entirely that we have the ability to create and manifest for ourselves.”

It has begun.

Not an inch of the castle is left unattended. A cluster of workers hurry past you but without forgetting to bow as they carry buckets, mops and other cleaning equipment with them. Somewhere in the barracks, you can hear the echo of the cavalry practicing for the march.

“Your highness! Have you seen her highness?” A nasally plea rises above the hustle. It’s the tailor that Taehyung personally picked to design your dress right before he left for the borders. News has it that a rising group of bandits are wrecking havoc at the village on the outskirts of town. Though he wasn’t a people kind of king, Taehyung still rode there with his handpicked force. The crazed look in his eyes like the one he looked at you during wartime, tells you it wasn’t so much for the people as it was to sate his need and hunger for blood and violence. He really hasn’t changed.

You slip under the alcove at the sight of rich colored ruffles and feathers. The man whizzes past you without looking back. A small chuckle tumbles from you lips as you peek at the bounce of his brais with every haphazard step he takes in search for the soon-to-be Queen. It has been a long time since you’re able to feel so free, if at all.

When you first came, the walls seem to tower over you as though scrutinizing your worth. The portraits hung along the corridor used to gaze at you with judgement. As you take a stroll in a part of the castle you’re not so familiar with, the hollow armors do not seem like they’re about to jump in front of you, bearing spears and swords.

“You again!” A harsh voice bellows, “Every time I see someone messing up, it’s always you!”

Not too far away, the guards are practicing their own formation. Since not all of them could join and protect the castle at the same time, only a fraction of them are chosen for the performance. The commander, dressed in distinct red clothes under the armory, takes his sweet time ambling towards one of the guards whilst the rest moves away from him, leaving him trembling in the middle on his own.

Meandering closer, you subconsciously lull your head to the side to see past the commander’s shoulder. He looks familiar...

“Your highness!” One of them bows, recognizing their Princess before the rest echoes and bents forward in formality.

The commander scurries to meet you halfway, bowing stiffly from the unexpected visit. The guard who was about to get a beating already has his upper body lowered, disallowing you from seeing his face.

“To what do we owe this pleasure to?” The commander peers up at you with a sickening smile. You force yourself to keep a smile on your own face. It’s been six months since you arrived here, you’re surprised this is the time you’ve met a man like him.

“I was taking a stroll and watched from afar how marvelous your formations are before I decided to approach and give you credit where it’s due.”

The man’s chuckle is too similar to that of a pig. He refutes the compliment humbly yet boisterously.

“How long have you been practicing?” You scan the men’s faces before looking back at him. Their still heaving shoulders tell you they’re overworked.

“Oh no, not that long. We’ve only started at dawn.” He chuckles that piggy chuckle.

The sky is now tinted orange and fuchsia. They’ve been at it for at least twelve hours and knowing this man, he probably told them to continue while he lounges on the chair you spot in front while he snacks on the palace’s treats.

“Oh my, then surely you all deserve a break,” you step past the commander and speak directly to the guards, “go on, get some treats from the workers’ kitchen and freshen up.”

There is hesitancy at first as their eyes goes from you to the commander who’s possibly irritated by your brazenness of speaking to the men directly and not asking his permission. An eerie aura seeps into your pores from where you know the vile creature would be milking out every last drop of the tension of whether to obey the future Queen or obey their commander like they always had. Either way, this is just the beginning of a longstanding power play that you’ll have to participate in if you’re to be Queen, especially one from a kingdom that they used to go to war against.

“Thank you, your highness!” The guard that stands dislocated in the middle - the one that almost got who-knows-what if you didn’t swoop in - shouts in enthusiasm. When he looks up, a wave of familiarity hits you. No wonder you’ve been so curious, he’s that young guard that was posted at Jungkook’s cell.

Didn’t he say he was going to retire and return to his family?

The rest of the guards repeats the same words and bows before dispersing. The commander, as you suspected, is leering at you with vexation. Having no energy to handle a man like that, you approach the few guards who are resting nearby. They scramble onto their feet at first but relaxes when you assure them there is no need for that. They’ve already greeted you when you came. And that was enough.

With small talks here and there, you finally approach him. He’s the only one who insists on getting up and going through the formality still. “I thought there were mentions of retirement.” Your voice is lowered but it looks nothing out of the ordinary. Just a Princess getting to know her people.

“Y-yes.” He glances to his dirt-covered shoes, the beads on your skirt and then the flowers in your hair but not your eyes. He dares not.

“Was the money not enough? I shall have -”

His eyes widen and he instantly corrects you, “it’s more than enough, your highness!”

Upon realizing that his voice might have gone an octave higher than what’s supposed to, he glances around in alarm but sighs in relief not a heart beat later. There’s nothing new to the workers getting overwhelmed by a monarch’s generosity - however small it may be. And you’ve established yours when you allowed these pushed-beyond-the-limit men to rest. So you’re not too worried.

“Then?” You ask, “what is it?”

“M-mister Jeon said now that he’s free of any allegations, the Prince might find out that you’ve been giving me coins a- and I might be punished for accepting bribery s-so I gave them back to him because he said he’d g-give them to you.” He’s just a scared boy no older than the age of sixteen, possibly sold off by his own family to serve at the castle as a non-significant guard. As he speaks, it becomes apparent how terrified he is of the threats made by Jungkook, “a-and I must help him send her highness letters of great importance if I want my family safe.”

Something tugs on the strings that holds your heart afloat in your chest. To say you’re surprised... would be a lie. You know your knight. You know what he won’t do in order to ensure your safety and well-being. And there aren’t many things in that category. Naturally, for Jungkook, morals come second to you.

He looks like he’s about to breakdown right there if you hadn’t stopped him. “Don’t cry, don’t say a word.”

He sniffles instead.

“Tell me where he’s staying. Don’t worry, you may retire peacefully. No harm will come to you. I swear.”

The core of fear planted by Jungkook is deepset as you watch those trembling eyes contemplate as though it’s a matter between life and death. You school your expression to a stoic one. It was the face you see your father make on nights you couldn’t sleep and sneaked into the meeting rooms where he bargains with Kings of neighboring lands about a trade or military supply.

“H-he’s working at Theos Inn in return for free food and shelter... it’s close to the castle-”

“Alright.” You speak over him once his words begin to muffle from talking too fast; a sign that your time as run out, “I’ll personally handle the matter of your retirement. Speak of our exchange to no one. Now, thank me.”

It takes a few seconds for him to digest what you said but when he does, he dips to a deep bow, shouting the words of gratitude as though he understands what you’re about to do for him will raise suspicions and put your position under the council’s scrutiny and he is truly and forever grateful for that. Even though it’s all a farce set up, especially when the commander may be wondering why your conversation with the boy he was about to punish is taking longer than the others you’ve talked to, “thank you, your highness!”

With that practiced smile, you nod at him before treading away. A plentiful has seen your placid smile and that’s enough to give them an idea that it was an even-tempered conversation even though it was far from it.

Theos Inn is strategically located in the middle of town. Sandwiched between a bakery and a restaurant, it has no competition and is easily the most frequented pub. Thanks to that, it’s also awfully rowdy and rambunctious. A fight almost broke out within the first five minutes you’ve been here, hidden in the corner with a cloak and a maid’s clothes underneath.

Jungkook shows up five minutes after that with a tray of gargantuan glasses filled rich honey hued beer. The men that are huddled with some game of cards pay him no mind as he goes around setting their drinks. The ladies, you can’t say the same.

One smacks his backside as he serves them, winking coquettishly whilst when he looks her way. You subconsciously grip the handle of your own glass tighter as you catch the boyish smile he throws at her. Your knight hardly ever smiles... even with you. He disappears behind the counter before reappearing with another tray effortlessly balanced in one hand whilst dodging drunken, stumbling men.

When he passes your table, he stops mid-stride, that natural smile hitting the floor as he gawks at you. Even with the cloak half shielding your face, your knight would recognize you anywhere.

“Hello, Jungkook.”

• British Home guard/LDV

The Home Guard (initially Local Defence Volunteers or LDV) was an armed citizen militia supporting the British Army during the Second World War.

The origins of the Second World War Home Guard can be traced to Captain Tom Wintringham who returned from the Spanish Civil War and wrote a book entitled How to Reform the Army. In the book, as well as a large number of regular army reforms, Wintringham called for the creation of 12 divisions similar in composition to that of the International Brigades, which had been formed in Spain during the conflict. The divisions would be raised through a process of voluntary enlistment targeting ex-servicemen and youths.

When Britain declared war on Germany on September 3rd, 1939, debates began in official circles about the possible ways in which the German military might launch an invasion of Britain. In the first week of the conflict, numerous diplomatic and intelligence reports seemed to indicate that there was the possibility of an imminent German amphibious assault. Many government ministers and senior army officials, including the Commander in Chief Home Forces, General Walter Kirke, believed that the threat of invasion was greatly exaggerated and were sceptical, but others were not, including Winston Churchill. Churchill argued that some form of home defence force should be raised from members of the population who were ineligible to serve in the regular forces but wished to serve their country. on October 8th, 1939, Churchill called for a Home Guard force of 500,000 men over the age of 40 to be formed.

While government officials were debating the need for a home defence force, such a force was actually being formed without any official encouragement. In Essex, men not eligible for call-up into the armed forces were coming forward to join the self-styled 'Legion of Frontiersmen'. Officials were soon informed of the development of the legion, with the Adjutant-General, Sir Robert Gordon-Finlayson, arguing that the government should encourage the development of more unofficial organisations. The fear of invasion in 1939 quickly dissipated as it became evident that the German military was not in a position to launch an invasion of Britain, official enthusiasm for home defence forces waned and the legion appears to have dissolved itself at the same time. The government soon found itself under increasing pressure to extend the internment of suspect aliens to prevent the formation of a fifth column and to allow the population to take up arms to defend themselves against an invasion. Calls for some form of home defence force soon began to be heard from the press and from private individuals.

The government and senior military officials rapidly compared plans and, by May 13th, 1940, worked out an improvised plan for a home defence force, to be called the Local Defence Volunteers (LDV). The rush to complete a plan and announce it to the public had led to a number of administrative and logistical problems, such as how the volunteers in the new force would be armed, which caused problems as the force evolved. On the evening of 14 May 1940, Secretary of State for War Anthony Eden, gave a radio broadcast announcing the formation of the Local Defence Volunteers (LDV) and calling for volunteers to join the force. The Home Guard did not, initially, admit women to its ranks. Some women formed their own groups like the Amazon Defence Corps. In December 1941, a more organised but still unofficial Women's Home Defence (WHD) was formed under the direction of Dr Edith Summerskill. The War Office continued to lay down the administrative and logistical foundations for the LDV organisation. Eden's public words were generally interpreted as an explicit promise to provide everyone who volunteered with a personal firearm. In retrospect, it was recognised that recruitment would have been better limited to the numbers required (and capable of being armed), with later volunteers given places on a waiting list. However, once volunteers had been enlisted, it was considered impossible from a public relations perspective to then dismiss them. Nevertheless, the regular forces saw no priority in providing more arms and equipment to the new force.

Another problem that was encountered as the LDV was organised was the definition of the role the organisation was to play. Initially, in the eyes of the War Office and the army, the LDV was to act as 'an armed police constabulary', which, in the event of an invasion, was to man roadblocks, observe German troop movements, convey information to the regular forces and guard places of strategic or tactical importance. The War Office believed that the LDV would act best in such a passive role because of its lack of training, weapons and proper equipment. At the same time, Churchill, who had assumed the position of Prime Minister in May 1940, became involved in the matter after being alerted to the problems, obtaining a summary of the current LDV position from the War Office on June 22nd, 1940. After reviewing the summary, Churchill wrote to Eden stating that in his opinion, one of the main causes of disciplinary and morale problems stemmed from the uninspiring title of the LDV and suggesting that it be renamed as the 'Home Guard'.

The Home Guard in 1940 were an armed uniformed civilian militia, entirely distinct from the regular armed forces. Volunteers originally had no recognised military rank, were not subject to military discipline and could withdraw (or be withdrawn by their employers) at any time. In 1941, nominal ranks were introduced for Home Guard 'officers', and in 1942, limited conscription was implemented intended for circumstances where Home Guard forces were taking over functions from regular forces (chiefly coastal artillery and anti-aircraft batteries), and non-officer volunteers became 'privates'. Volunteers remained legally civilians and failure to attend when ordered to do so was punishable by civilian authorities. Nevertheless, the British Government consistently maintained that as Home Guard service was strictly to be undertaken only in approved uniform. uniformed Volunteers would be lawful combatants within the Geneva Conventions and so would be 'prisoners of war' if captured.

The Home Guard remained in existence manning guard posts and performing other duties to free up regular troops for duties overseas, especially taking over the operation of coastal artillery batteries and anti-aircraft batteries (especially rocket batteries for the protection of key industrial sites). In 1942, the National Service Act allowed for compulsory enrolment in the Home Guard of men aged 42 to 51 years where units were below strength. Meanwhile, the lowest rank within the Home Guard, 'volunteer', was renamed to 'private' to match the regular army usage. It was only when the tide on the Eastern Front had definitively turned against Germany in 1943 that the military necessity for the Home Guard began to recede. Even so, both military planners and the public maintained an apprehension that the Germans might launch seaborne or airborne commando raids against targets in Southern England to disrupt the preparations for the Second Front or to assassinate Allied leaders. Following the successful landings in France and the drive towards Germany by the Allies, the Home Guard were formally stood down on December 3rd, 1944 and finally disbanded on December 31st, 1945.
