I adored The Turning, and I feel like we're all sleeping on the potential for it to turn into a found family tale where Kate rescues Flora, teaches Miles basic manners, asks Rose to help her raise 'em, and they renovate (and exorcise) the mansion together.

I know, not a lot of people liked the ending, but I interpreted it as more of a branching narrative than a linear one! It felt easy to choose which ending I wanted of the two, different timelines, and the first ending shown was really nice TTwTT

O filme baseia sua história na do livro "The Turn of The Screw" traduzido como "A Volta do Parafuso", entregando um enredo que estimula a curiosidade do expectador com excelência de talento. . A história do filme contudo não é fiel à do livro, pega emprestado apenas alguns elementos como as duas crianças protagonistas, embora no livro elas sejam órfãs, e o jogo entre o "real" e o "imaginário/sobrenatural" no qual Nicole Kidman dá um banho de interpretação com a sua pragmática Grace: . "I Don't like fantasies, strange ideas [...] my children sometimes have strange ideas but you mustn't pay any atention to them... Children will be children." Aqui temos esse perfeito jogo entre o real e o sobrenatural/imaginário e embora o filme entregue uma reposta pronta ao expectador, diferenciando-se um pouco da concepção aberta da obra de Henry James, já pode ser considerado um clássico contemporâneo do cinema de Horror. .
