I wanted to do something for mermay, so here are my designs for some merturtles!

Leo is a Leafy seadragon,

Donnie is a Vampire squid

Mikey is a Epaulette shark

And Raph is a Scorpionfish!

Also heres a bonus drawing of a young April holding her little aquatic friends (dont worry they can breathe air just fine)

Beauty and the Beast

An alternate universe where the ancestors of the Sky kingdom was spared from the effects of the Eden shards by the mercy of megabird, and transformed into half-creatures of the land.

When the ancestors lived on as centauroid creatures, they divided upon themselves as dark-taurs (consisting of krilltaurs, crabtaurs, merleviathans etc.) and light-taurs (mantataurs, mermanatees, merwhales, merturtles, merjellies and birdtaurs). Although the two did not see each other eye to eye, they nonetheless lived under one society.

Krilltaurs, crabtaurs, merturtles and merwhales tend to be chosen as guardians or guards. With shells as extra protection, they were excellent at warding off dark dragons and would-be trouble makers.

Deltos, a krilltaur, served as a guard of a humble little town situated in the Daylight Prairie. He met Soleil during patrol when the guard team he was in stumbled on her family's ranch near Prairie peaks. With Soleil sheltered from civilization, she was unprejudiced against dark-taurs, to which Deltos was charmed by.

This is an "Alternate universe" setting, as Deltos is one of my guard OCs who is the head guard of a travelling caravan.

But the thought of a centaur AU for SkyCOTL tickled my mind~

I wanna hear more about ur merturtle au pls. I think it's pretty neat and u have very squishy designs. Also is it okay to write fanfic of ur au? It wouldn't be much and it'll be my first time writing but I have a tentative idea.

OH!! Ofc u can use the designs // idea with credit ^^ If u ever write something, defo mention it to me on here so I can read it >:) The overall thing was originally just going to be fun ideas, and nothing major. Overall, basically everything is the same from the original, other than a few quirks and designs the turtles have. Leo would always make a snarky comment about how he'd have "The voice of a siren." Which ofc, Donnie would always correct. He's the fastest swimmer of the group, and is the one that usually dominates fighting fields. Ofc- only if he uses his brain, which he kinda needs to work on. Donnie on the other hand, had to figure out how to comfortably live his life out of the water, and be able to be happy with it. He's made a few adjustments, probably like keeping water in his battle shell and having a regular schedule to keep himself from not being too agitated. In this version ofc, he's made all of his equipment waterproof! Including Shelldon ofc!! Raph, as a thresher shark, I'd imagine his fighting style would change a bit. Ofc he'd still be the absolute tank, but I like to imagine he'd manage to kinda use his tail to his advantage. Like Splinter, he uses his tail as a weapon and can stun enemies And as the Raph fan I am, thought that maybe it'd be cool to explore a small idea: Raph's always been paranoid of his smile, of being too rough, of being too scary, etc. I want him to both understand his struggles and realize that those he really cares about just want to see the true him, and not a hand covering his sharp smile. Aka, some free angst I could mess around with ;) Mikey... i actually don't have a lot for him? He'd be a force of keeping the family together, kinda like in the cannon. He'd have the most colorful fighting style, especially when u add water to the mix! He'd be the one to make Raph realize how wrong he was about himself, he'd be the one to help Donnie with his designs, and he'd help Leo realize that a lot of the stuff that's happened to them wasn't his fault. Also, part of me would find it funny if HE was the one who had some sort of 'siren' 'mermaid' powers. Or this could just be me watching too much avatar and the last airbender- but i think it'd be funny if he could manipulate water, and have all that cool mermaid powers!! Just an idea tho ^^ NOW UH- sorry if that's a lot to read, so have this lil comic WIP. I probably won't finish it knowing me- it is my birthday after all, but I'm glad people are taking interest in my little au :]

I wasn’t gonna write anything for this but then I had time. So this happened 💃🕺

Waves lapped over her feet as she laid on her back, cool and refreshing. How different water felt when it wasn’t busy strangling her to death. She dimly remembered something grabbing her at some point. Or was that just her imagination?

Was this even real? Was she dead?!

She squinted her eyes against the bright of the moonlight and took a deep breath. Definitely real. She sat up slowly, shuddering as water drained from her ears, and stretched.

“Great.” She grumbled as she moved her head up and down to get the water from her ears. “Go on a solo fishing trip," they said. It will be fun, they said.”

The sea in front of her rippled unnaturally, small waves coming from- from a fin? She scrambled backwards away from the water. Stranded or not, there was no way she was going to be eaten by a shark.

Safely in the middle of the rock she kept a wary eye on the water. She’d heard the legends of sirens leading sailors to their doom and of monsters eating fishermen whole. Her father had told them to her growing up. She twisted her hair nervously, hoping sincerely that she wasn’t about to encounter one of her fathers tall tales.

The fin dipped underwater and she sighed a breath of relief. No monster for her to-

A green monster came out of the water.

What the actual freak.

She fell backward scrambling to get to the other side of the rock as it stood (floated?) there. Very ominously. Probably deciding what the best way was to eat her.

When it made no move toward her after a few tense moments she took a tentative step forward.

“Okay,” she said, mostly to herself, but also to see if the thing would react. It did not. “You’re creepy.” She murmured, slow and even so she wouldn’t spook the thing. “And also you smell like fish. Rank dude. Not cool.”

It continued to stare at her unmoving. Its hair was covering half its face, keeping her from getting a good look at what it was. She moved a little closer, hand outstretched as she hesitantly pushed hair out of its face.

“Here, lemme just-“ she babbled, worried the thing would drag her under. “Yeah that looks a little better without that mess in your face. Oh. Huh. Ok yeah.”

The hair pushed back revealed a creature that looked almost her age. She stepped backward to the middle of the rock again. “This is weird and I hate it.” She announced.

The creature simply flopped down on the rock, lazily soaking up the moonlight. Taken aback, she stepped closer once again to poke at him with her foot. “Can you actually breathe up here long enough for that?”

No answer.

“Aight well ima just let you suffocate since you won’t answer me.”

It just stared again, eyes entirely devoid of any semblance of emotion as it lay on the slimy algae covered rock. Yeah he was a nasty one for sure. She nudged him again with her hand. The slimy rough texture of his scales caused her to flinch backward, rubbing her hand over her bibs to rid herself of the texture.

“Nope nope nope nope nope. I wasn’t expecting that and I’m not gonna touch you again.” She plunged her hand into the water and scrubbed the slime away. “Gross. You’re gross, you know that?”

It didn’t say anything again, which, rude, but like maybe he only spoke in bubbles? She dipped her face under the waves and spoke under the water. He,again, made no acknowledgement and continued to lay on the nasty rocks.

“Well this has been nice but I’m gonna go now.” She pointed to the vague dot in the horizon to clarify for the stupid sea monster and jumped in the water.

The thing he pulled from the water was actually so ugly he wanted to barf. But he was nice and didn’t. Because he’s a gentle merturtle thing. So he was surprised when she started talking at him. And even more surprised when she jumped back into the water he had just saved her from drowning in.

Stupid earth walkers.

He dove in after her and grabbed her torso, lifting it up high enough for her to comfortably breathe. She kicked in his grip screeching something about how slippery and slimy he was before stopping entirely and just sorta slumped against him, letting herself be dragged.

She was silent for a moment before she started talking again. But he didn’t pay attention. He knew where she wanted to go, so he would take her there. No reason for her to die in his waters. And also because he really didn’t care. He just wanted to go back home. But him and his big heart just needed to save damsels in distress. Stupid.

She dipped her head in the water a few times, blowing bubbles and making various noises. What on earth was she trying to do? Whatever, he just need to get her back to her home so he can go to his.

As the shore drew closer he set her down gently on another set of rocks and swam away.

“Well bye to you too ya twat!” She screamed from her rock. “What am I supposed to do now?”

Maybe the earth walkers really were too dumb to swim on their own? Oh well. Not his problem.

Yeah I have nothing to say for myself after writing this. So here’s a fun fact: platypuses sweat milk.

“I knew you shared a strong bond with Raphael, Mikey.” Leo looked at his little brother sitting beside him, talking things over with Mikey seemed harder than ever. “I’m sorry… I’m not asking you to forgive me, but.” Leo was suddenly taken by Mikey throwing himself at Leo, hugging him. *Sob* “R, Raph, he’s.” Mikey’s words were broken, sobbing in-between made Leo upset, pulling Mikey into a warm embrace. "It’s okay… I’m here.” Leo managed to calm his brother down, kissing him lightly on the head… *Sniff* Pulling apart slowly, looking into each other’s eyes. Big light blue eyes filled with tears, Leo slowly reached and wiped the tears from Mikey’s eyes… “Where’s you’re mask?” Leo asked…

*Churr… Churr* Swiftly gliding through the waters of the ocean, Raph made soft squeals like whale noises that echoed. Swimming passed a coral reef and all kinds of aquatic fish. Big and small, brightly colored and dark colored. Raph felt free and at peace in his new underwater home. Singing his soft siren song that echoed through the waters, suddenly Raph was stopped by another echos of sound… *Churr* Looking around, seeing nothing but a school of fish swimming by… *SQUEAL* Tilting his head up and made a loud pitched squeal hearing echo far out. Waiting for a reply, suddenly. *Chatter* Swimming towards him, 5 grey bottle nose dolphins playfully swam around the half turtle half fish. Raph felt happy, reaching out at touched one on it’s head, his webbed hands glided over the smooth skin of the animal. *Churr* Finding comfort in these creatures, accepting him into their pack, Raph played with his new family of dolphins…

*THIS JUST IN BREAKING NEWS* A male reporter stood on the docks, with police and an ambulance. “Four local fisherman were brutally attacked.” Looking at each other, the three turtles and Karai were confused by what attacked them. “Turn it up please.” Donnie said, Mikey turned up the volume.

“I am here at the docks with one of those four fisherman.“ Watching the reporter walking over to the man standing by the ambulance, a blanket around his shoulders. “Holy!” Donnie spoke, shocked by the man’s wounds and claw marks on his face. Splinter came out of the dojo… “Explain what happened.” Holding a mic up to him, seeing the fear in his eyes. “We were catching fish.” He answered. “The police suspected You had murdered you’re friends. Is that true?” Asking another question took him by shock. “That’s A Lie!” The man snapped at the reporter. “We Were Attacked!” He snapped again, making Leo look to Splinter. “Sensei, look at this!” Leo spoke watching him sitting down beside Donnie… “Four guys were attack out at sea.” Karai told her father, filling him on the parts he had missed. 

“Can you explain what attacked you?” The reporter asked only to see him more scared. “I… I don’t know… It wasn’t like any sea creature I’ve seen.” He spoke, a moment of silence filled the air, unable to think of how to explain it. “Can you give a description on what the creature looked like?” It was the moment of truth as he was about to give details on it’s appearance. The turtles and Karai moved closer to hear clearly…

“It had green skin. Big glowing green eyes.” The man told the reporter what it looked like. “It was covered with scales, and It’s bottom half was a fishtail.” The reporter blinked. “Are you saying sir, this… Creature, was a mermaid?” Asking a silly question. “IT WASN'T A MERMAID!” The man yelled. “It Had A Shell On It’s Back!” *Gasp* Leo and the rest gasped, “THAT’S RAPH!” Mikey cried. “Easy, Mikey.”… “It looked like a turtle… But it wasn’t.” The man finished his description making the brothers, Karai and Splinter more worried that this thing, Could be Raph… “The moment you saw it, what did it do?” The reporter asked him. “We actually saw it sitting on a rock. And then it started singing.” “Singing?” The reporter replied curiously making no sense to the turtles or Karai. “I, I can’t explain what it was, or what it meant. It drew us in… Like.” Giving a soft sigh, the man replayed the tune in his head, sounds of whales mixed in with it’s soothing song… Donnie’s tongue stuck out as he was writing down what the man was saying…

Switching the t.v off, Mikey slowly turned to look at his two brother and Karai. Shocked, the air became silent. “I, I can’t, believe…” Looking up at the glowing light shining down, Leo wiped his eyes. “Raphael.” Going to comfort him, Karai looked up. “What now?” She asked, neither of the brother replied but Splinter softly sighed. “It is unclear, that this is Raphael.” He spoke, stroking his beard in thought… “Sensei, didn’t you hear him?” Donnie asked, picking up his notepad. “Those descriptions… Green skin, a shell, glowing green eyes.” Donnie explained, his eyes closed. “It sounded like Raph to me, too.” Mikey finished Donnie’s sentence in a sad tone… Seeing the turtles like this, she sighed and stood up. “So! Let’s Go Catch Him.” She ordered, making the four look at her. “Karai, it’s too dangerous to go out there.” Leo shook his head. “Yeah! But to bring, Raphael back! It’s worth a try.” Karai pulled him to stand, her eyes met his. “The description was clear.” Donnie added, seeing hope. “We need to find him.” He ordered. “It seems, that Donatello is right.” Splinter said “I shall accompany you.” Giving a nod. “A, are you sure, father?” Karai asked. “Yes. But we must hurry, there may be others looking for Raphael.” Mikey nodded. “Now he’s killing people. We Have To Find Him!” He said. “Mikey’s right… Raph could be dangerous, and try to attack us too.” Leo started to think of a plan… “We’ll leave, tomorrow!” Leo took charge as he should. “We can take the sub, It’s ready to go.” Donnie gave his input. “Perfect.” Karai smiled, now they all knew the plan to bring their brother back.

But, at what cost?…

This is a WIP its a special surprise when its done and I have to say it is worth the wait to see it finished, I’m doing a collab with someone VERY talented. I can hardly wait to XD

Raph looks so at peace doesn't he? Leo makes sure he’s taken care of he’s such a pretty merturtle isnt he. This Raph doesn’t belong to Bound Secrets he’s the one forever locked into my imagination story that I’ve only drawn little tidbits of.

Oh my god, I wanna know how mer-leo would react to anastasia!reader being a menace to him

Couldn't get this out of my head either, so...

Merturtle! Donnie ended up with a very sweet partner, and though Leo may have helped him more than he would admit with that, it doesn't mean he won't stop teasing Donnie relentlessly for the whole thing.

Anastasia! MC however, is a bigger bully than Leo is, and while MC may have been born in a palace, they grew up in an orphanage with no memory of that and constant fights for who would sleep on the bed that night with another eight kids they shared room with.

I think that attitude would immediately grab his attention.

Anastasia! Leo is a street rat, a con artist who is trying to make some bucks out of MC, he has become a bit more cynical than Merturtle! Leo is, so fighting with MC is just part of the course in his situation.

But for M! Leo? Who grew up as a prince in a much easier environment? Your attitude is a breath of fresh air.

He, as you may have noticed in that fic, is a bit more vain and proud of his looks, trying out jewelry and accessories in the mirror frequently, even when he was transformed into a small, normal, red eared slider turtle, so once he is the target of your insults and being called out on the "crevasse" on his forehead, he will act as always, but secretly ask M! Donnie in a panic to find something on land that can get rid of wrinkles, ASAP.
