just a little lore drop for The cult of Insomnia members<3

the cult of Insomnia is led by Asteria, the older sibling of the time twins, Rogue and Acronix.

Asteria is a vampire bat, contrary to their younger brother Acronix, who is a Fruit Bat.

Asteria only really trusts Inky, their closest, and only friend, besides Silver of course.

Silver doesn't really go to meetings anymore because of how involved they are with Venus, considering that Virus (Silver's brother) is Venus's husband.

Inky is a snow leopard, and she is insanely attached to Asteria, like Inky would cling onto Asteria all day long if given the chance.

Nathan, Silver's biological father, is still involved with the cult, just like Cameron (Neuro, Sol, Ellis and Camille's dad).

Cameron and Nathan are friends, Cameron, just like Molly, makes Nathan less anxious.

What about au where smiler was partially marmalised and works for the ministry and is trying to manipulate Victor and Alice into getting marmalised and becoming advocates

*waggles hand* So, not opposed to such an AU, but it would have to end with Alice and Victor getting Smiler out of the Ministry instead of Smiler successfully getting them to become Advocates. Reason being is, well, a Smiler working for the Ministry and trying to manipulate Victor and Alice is an unethical mind controller! And we know what Alice does to unethical mind controllers:

Yeaaah, if you've ever thought my Smiler seems a little nice when compared to the coaster's actual theme, that's the reason. I had to give them ethics, otherwise they were going to get stabbed. So yeah, an AU like that would have to be along the lines of Smiler trying to get Victor and Alice to join up, only for Victor and Alice to instead show THEM how the Ministry is actually not really interested in happiness and is pretty evil honestly and get them out of there. (Which is actually not dissimilar to what happens in my Londerland Bloodlines AU (after the events of the game), where Smiler THINKS they've joined a group interested in making people happy and helping them through rough patches in their lives, but in fact the Ministry they've fallen in with is Ministry as in "Formerly The Followers of Set," and THEY'RE more interested in corrupting people with false joy...awful shame that they end up targeting Victor...)

Sleep Deprivation and Mind Control

Highlights:

Since the Old Testament (Book II), nocturnal activities were described in full detail to achieve religious ecstasy. Religious persons of all cultures are known to not sleep for weeks during prayer to achieve trances, joy and peace. The history of art and science contain many stories of creativity during sleepless nights.

Sleepless nights were also used for nefarious purposes. Sleep deprivation is an essential component of many brainwashing groups.

Only in recent years have sleep research uncovered the secrets of what actually happens during sleep loss. The temperature of the body and the heart rate increase giving feelings of something boiling inside the body. The senses become sharp and the person sees illusions and hallucinations. The mood is elevated and overly optimistic. The thinking becomes focused and grandiose. The sense of time and self-changes and this is a time of unusual ideas, revelations and profound emotional turbulence.

The positive or negative effect of those profound changes depends on the attitude toward loss of sleep.

Here are a few tips to help us buffer negative effects and increase positive results from sleep deprivation:

If you predict a sleepless night, set your mind on a positive attitude. Make plans on what to do during this time.

If you already have sleepless nights, don’t feel sorry for yourself. Temporary insomnia usually doesn’t cause serious trouble. The first half of the next day you might have more energy and slow down by evening. Plan accordingly. Don’t let yourself be too irritable.

If you have chronic medical problems, temporary loss of sleep, especially in the morning, might initiate critical changes for recovery. Set your mind on healing.

Remember that after the night a new day will come, the sun will rise as well as new opportunities in life. Sleepless nights might be a blessing.

i love all the flavors of howdydarling art you make sm!! i've really been stuck on the drawings you did of wally with insomnia, i love the idea of howdy carrying his ass to bed when he shows up at the bugdega totally exhausted. i thought it'd be cute if wally stepped in to take care of howdy too when he's feeling overworked, or the two of them just collapsing into a nap pile at the end of a long day
