(On stage)

Nekome: “And so with this, we've defeated everyone……. Alright”

“My~ It's all thanks to our cooperation! Thanks to you, we're both saved”

“— ehh, huh? Where did he go? Hey”

(Saki looks around the stage)

Saki: (Come to think of it, I don't see Kasumi-san anywhere…)

Nekome: “—hehh, so there you are”

(Kasumi appears behind Nekome)

Kasumi: “An opening”

(Screen flashes red and blacks out as Kasumi strikes Nekome with his hammer prop)

Nekome: “Gaaah—!”

(Card CG)

Kasumi: “You've let your guard down, you know~ Your back is wide open”

“Didn't I tell you? To survive, it's better to be inconspicuous until the very end”

Saki: (Kasumi-san, when did he……!)

Kasumi: “Ah, you can't hear me anymore, can you?”

“Well then, it's about time to say farewell to this place”

(CG end, the audience applauds as the stage ends. Scene cut, break area)

Saki: Kasumi-san, good work today on your show.

Kasumi: Ah, Saki-san. Thank you for seeing our performance.

Did you enjoy the show?

Saki: Yes, especially when it was time for the climax, I couldn't take my eyes off the stage.

It was so amazing that even after the show, the applause continued, as expected.

Kasumi: My~ those words are way too good for this mob.

Saki: At the finale, I was so surprised when you suddenly appeared from out of nowhere.

Kasumi: I thought it would be more exciting if I appeared on that scene, so I went for it.

This mob is sorry for interrupting~

Saki: That's not true. It was a wonderful show.

Kasumi: But all in all, this show is especially Starless-like.

Saki: Starless-like?

Kasumi: In this show, the objective is “to survive”. I think that everyone is different in that regard.

Various things, even the disturbing parts, are quite similar~

Saki: An objective…

Does Kasumi-san also have one?

Kasumi: I don't think anyone is here without a purpose.

But as long as I stand on the stage, I'll do my best to entertain the audiences.

Starless is a place to fulfill your desires. It has always been, and always will be.

Nekome: “Now then, we've reached a dead end”

“You're in a dire situation. On the other hand, I'm in a position wherein I can end you with just one decision”

“Since we have this opportunity, how about a deal?”

“Team up with me. And then, I'll let you off the hook…… so what do you think?”

Kasumi: “For reals?! Of course I'll take up on your offer”

Nekome: “I knew that you'd say so”

Kasumi: “What a lifesaver~ I'm really thankful. The merciful lord savior really does exists~”

Nekome: “Savior……. is it”

“Well, let's do our best from now on, comrade”

“Whatever path you chose to take, your decision is sealed and you can't take it back”

“The only thing to do now is to move forward, without looking back…… you have to be prepared for that”

Side notes coz asdfgj KASUMI BACKSTABBER CANON. If you view their cards as one stage, freaking Nekome let Kasumi off the hook only to be whacked by a hammer later— (more of this more of this)

So, you can buy one of the books from the 1999 The Mummy at the upcoming March 2024 Propstore auction.

From the listing for Lot #250:

The heavy book is primarily made of resin finished in gold paint to resemble solid gold, and features several intentionally tarnished bronze components. The book's embellished metal spine displays 12 individual strands attached to each internal page. Designed to hold the front cover in place, four metal vulture-like clasps are inserted into the scarab emblems and are adjoined to uniquely designed hinges. Located within the book are 12 resin tablet pages covered in ornate hieroglyph detailing. To open the book, the circular mechanical emblem on the cover must be twisted in an anticlockwise direction, which causes the two clasps on the right side to pop up. To close the book, the two clasps should be pushed down into their corresponding slots and held. The emblem should then be turned clockwise, causing the locks to fix back into place. Intentionally distressed for the production, there are some small chips on the cover. Dimensions: 14.5" x 14.5" x 4.75" (37 cm x 37 cm x 12 cm) Estimate: $50,000 - 100,000

The clasps and lock mechanism are fully functional. BYO key, though.

I had a post go viral about this but yeah I’m STILL not done talking about it.

Catching Fire is such a good book because you can really see all the pieces of the plan and how they were put together. How the arena was so clearly meant to strengthen Finnick in their attempt at rebellion and Plutarch pulled that off because he knew Finnick was Snow’s pick for a victor of that games. I absolutely love how subtly genius Plutarch really is, like he pulled off the entire rebellion through his manipulation of Snow and Snow’s need for power. I love the concept of the clock, how he gave the hint to Katniss, and how things like the lightning tree were placed purposely so they could be used in their plan. I mean truly the more I think about this book the more astonished I am at how beautiful the setup is. Plutarch’s plan was so flawless. Planting the idea of hand picking the tributes from previous victors so the quell to Snow was a way to rid himself of his strongest opposition (keeping Finnick, his most valuable asset amongst these victors); but to Plutarch he was assembling his perfect rebel alliance. Catching Fire is just an amazing work that I will think about forever.
