First, omg YOUR ZUTARA ART! It's so so beautiful I want to weep.
Do you have any Zutara fic recs? I need some more Zutara in my life lol
Hi! That's so sweet, thank you ❤️
Most of my free time is spent reading, but I almost never save the links...and can never seem to remember the names and/or authors of the fics.
Luckily I saved the links for some of my absolute favorite fics! There are a lot of truly breathtaking works out there and, sadly, I can't mention them all. These are some names in a very long list of favorites. I hope you enjoy them ❤️
Vermillion Seas, Cardinal Skies by @geothewriter
New directions and re-imagined canon events race toward a different endgame. From lighting bending to bloodbending and deal-making in the Spirit World, this canon-divergent/adjacent AU travels a new road, where unforeseen experiences shape who our heroes are, and who they will become. A Zutara slowburn.
Forgetting is a kind of mercy by @nerdylizj
It's death by a thousand cuts, Katara thinks. Saying goodbye to their old lives, forging ahead with whatever amalgamation of reality once they both fully remember everything, whatever reality that may be. Yet, two tethers between them will remain. Or, Five years after Katara and Zuko go missing in Ba Sing Se, Kya and Lee are found living peacefully in the Earth Kingdom countryside.
Eight Years Later by @starlight-tea-writing
Eight years after Sozin’s Comet, everyone’s lives have begun to take shape, their responsibilities pulling them further and further apart. The last three years have been broken up with infrequent and hurried meetings and get togethers, but by happenstance, things play out a little differently for the eighth anniversary of the End of War. Follow what happens in the year after all of Team Avatar gets together again and the found family re-finds each other and grows even larger. Zutara centric, Sukka, Toph/OC, Aang/OC Irregular updates, Saturdays only.
The White Lotus Zuko series by @calcliffbas
Zuko becomes one of the good guys a little earlier than usual, and joins Aang, Sokka and Katara in Omashu. A canon-adjacent series featuring friendship, humor, and romance.
The Spirit Trap by @leradny
In the Southern Water Tribe, Hakoda teaches his second son Katara to channel the grief over the death of his mother in a healthy way. In the Fire Nation Capital, Ozai tries to betroth his eldest daughter Princess Zuko to Iroh's son, and Ursa has to explain why that's not a good idea. [AU: Switched Genders, but just for Zuko and Katara]
Everything I Am by we-were-angels(untilwefallinlove)
There is something inevitable about them; like the certainty of the sun in the morning and the moon and all her stars at night. After all is said in done, how will history tell their stories? (Set after the One Hundred Year War and the years following.)

Galadriel fell in love with Halbrand because he is Sauron and not despite it

Glad I picked up the lore books because Dreamers can see the future and its nowhere on the wiki lol (p.37 of vol. II)
That puts Solas's meltdown and the actions of past powerful somniari into perspective a lot more
The whole excerpt feels like DA:V foreshadowing. Here's parts of it:
Immense magical power seems to go hand in hand with ego and the idea of exploiting one's fate, or somehow avoiding it, reliably comes up sooner or later.
Even when the future can be known, it's those who are born with the gift, like Darinius himself, who are most likely to bleed for it.
This, I think, is the best possible argument to not meddle with the future: whenever someone tries, the Maker sees to it that the outcome is as ironic as possible.

Happy very early Halloween have a dp idea that won't leave me alone. I also bring along the wonderfully preserved bones of the many whales that fall into the deep dark of the ocean to never be seen again as an offering.
Idea:
Playing around with the blood blossoms cause illness and even perma death in ghosts from canon; as he's effected by LIVE blood blossoms because of his halfa status interacting with the pollen, when he goes to university Danny decides to get Sam and/or Tucker to press/dry some blossoms for him and he puts them in EVERYTHING. They act as a deterrent for ghosts who want to try and bother him at university because the ghost boy is so powerful he can resist the flowers now!?
I'm thinking he commissions one of those water bottles where the glass/plastic has stuff inside of the walls of the bottle and its just pressed blood blossoms but most of the ghosts think he's drinking blood blossom infused water.
Oh my god YES!
I also propose that Danny wears one of those necklaces that has a tiny pressed flower inside but it’s a dried bud of a blood blossom.
You could even grind the dried blossoms into a fine powder and incorporate it into various items like hair gel, nail polish, blush, eye shadow, or even hair dye.
With many heroes having died before and have since been revived by unconventional means, how do blood blossoms effect them?

welcome, dc fans. planning to post something in the kon-el tag? i have a challenge for you: you must state three facts about kon-el, without mentioning either tim drake or lex luthor. (for bonus points, you can't mention young justice in general, either.) if you can't, the saw trap goes off, so choose wisely. your time starts... now.

So minimal school spirits fandom that I now know exists, what do we think about the theory that this whole thing started bc of a science experiment gone wrong?
(I could be misremembering here so correct me if I am) Mr. Martin and Janet died in a fire in what is now the fallout shelter, and in one of the articles they found another student in the class was blaming Mr. Martin for starting the fire and bringing Janet in there with him.
what if
stay with me here
what if, they were doing some kind of research experiment together (hence the chemical formulas in the beginning of Janet's notebook, and the shorthand) that went wrong, and what they'd done of that experiment plus them dying in the room in the fire with it, trapped their souls there.
which raises the question, when Mr. Martin locked her in that room, was it with the watch? was she experiencing that freaking red room thing relieving that day over and over for months? is that what they were arguing about right before Maddie found them? was he making her relive that to try and figure out where the mistake was in their experiment, because he wanted to try and redo or reverse it and that's why Mr. Martin was trying to force her to tell him what she saw?
as far as we know date wise Janet and Mr. Martin are the oldest ghosts, they've been there longest, they could very well be the start of it all.

Christmas, Kansas
“Yello” said Jason, elbows deep into the Batmobile because while the Bats away the Robins will play and all of that shit. Really, it was Bruce’s fault for giving Jason a pair of keys back into the Manor. What was the man expecting? For Jason to not take advantage of Bruce’s corporate trip to LA and pass up the opportunity to give the Batmobile a few “upgrades”?
“Jason? Oh, thank god, you have to come get me.”
Jason hummed.
Somewhere in the back of his mind, Jason remembered some vague discussion about Bruce being gone and Dick starting to get concerned about it.
“And why would I do that?”
“I’m trapped,” Bruce’s voice was starting to get a bit frantic. “Look I don’t know how much time I have left on this pay phone, but you need to get your siblings and come get me. I’m in a town called Christmas, Kansas. It’s at approximately 39 degrees north by 101–”
“Wait, the town is called Christmas?”
“Yes,” Bruce growled this word out with so much disdain that Jason was reminded about how the man talked about the Joker. “The town is trapped in Christmas. It’s trying to get me to feel the Christmas Spirit.”
Jason’s eyebrows crinkled together. “But you're Jewish?”
“That’s what I said! But no, apparently, anyone can feel the Christmas spirit, and I’m trapped here until I feel it, too. But I don’t feel shit except for the cold, because did I tell you, but it snows all the time here. It’s May! Jason, it’s May! And we have had three winter storms that have trapped us inside to force us to bake cookies and decorate trees and I’m going insane, Jason. I’m going insane! This might be what breaks me! I’m not singing Fa La La La La in fucking May, Jason!”
Jason had frozen, eyes widening as Bruce’s tirade ended, and all he could hear was his dad heavily panting into the phone.
“Holy shit,” Jason whispered. He had heard Bruce at some of his worst and it was rare to hear Bruce sound so miserably exhausted. He was more used to Bruce sounding like he had a fair amount of control on things, but this man… this sounded like a man breaking.
“Please come get me,” Bruce was practically pleading now. “I called Clark, but he’s been taken by this town’s delusion and apparently enjoys being here.”
Jason huffed a ragged laugh. “Of course he would, that man bleeds small-town Americana. He’s probably trying to get you to do all the Christmas traditions with him.”
“Yes,” Bruce said so miserably that it actually made Jason feel a bit bad for the guy.
“Give me a few hours,” said Jason, sighing internally as he signed himself up for getting into more of this family’s bullshit. “I’ll have Tim trace the call, and we will come find you. In the meantime, go enjoy a cup of cheer.”
“I think if I drink another hot cocoa I’m going to have a sugar induced heart attack.”
“Cocoa? Who the fuck was talking about cocoa? I mean whiskey, Bruce. Or vodka. Or anything else strong and alcoholic that will tide you over until we get there.”
Bruce gave a grumbly, stilted laugh into the phone that definitely didn’t mess with Jason’s heart a bit and made him feel like he was twelve again.
“Alright, Jay, I’ll see you soon.”

Prompt 242
He looks the same as he had that fateful day, a storm raging around him and risking sending the ship down into the abyss. Hair whipping in the wind as the sky roars its deadly challenge echoed by the beasts they all sought to bring down those centuries ago.
It looks just as human as they- that is to say not at all, not anymore. A body twisted, sand and lightning melding into a molten sea ever-expanding. Its eyes as gold as the treasure it guards, brilliant blues and greens dancing across bodies in sigils unknown.
It looks exactly as it did that time ago, smile dancing on its lips as the sky opened up in torrents, like blood gushing from a wound. “You’re free to go,” it says, in words they understand and words they don’t. “You don’t have to stay here any longer.”
“Where will we go?” They ask, so very tired of this eternal battle, of being trapped in crashing waves and storms of water and sand. Being tossed one way and the other, never able to go home, for home was gone long ago.
It looks up, their own gaze following, the ship crashing through the dredges of a storm they had thought eternal. And for the first time in eternities, they see them. The stars. Dancing and dripping from a serpentine form that cradles the Sun and Moon, smiling down to the beast and them alike.
And so, they take from the seas, and take to the stars instead.

Arcane warrior being a specialization in dao is so funny considering the mage origin. Guy who has never stepped foot outside a tower left to join the wardens and is now regularly decapitating men. 10/10 no notes

like i think the most interesting part of hollyleaf to me is not her stupid 'redemption' in oots or anything to do with the prophecy or tunnels at all really i just love the drama of her fretting about how she could be rogueborn and how her birth was a mistake and all her weird self-flagellation eventually just culminating in extremely shaky and frantic murder, both with ashfur and leafpool as an attempted one. and then she practically kills herself by running away and refusing to deal with the consequences of anything. its literally perfect i wish she never returned i think tragic stagnation is the only thing she should leave behind

Inquisition kinda left me high and dry in terms of the world building for Well of Sorrows so my personal thoughts
> Inquisitor essentially becomes a vessel for Mythal, kind of like Flemmeth but not an active one. Post Tresspasser inquisitor can hear her voice vaguely from time to time, but more of a passive observer rather than an active force. Think a much more controlled version of what Anders had going on.
> Inquisitor can read ancient Elven without realizing
>The voices can occasionally get so loud that they can't hear what's going on or get jolted awake
> Mage Inquisitor has a much larger mana reserve and replenishes it much faster. They can almost entirely stop using Lyrium potions outside of isolated cases.
> Due to the presence of a spirit, Inquisitor becomes susceptible to magic that targets spirits despite being alive. Inquisitor can face issues with spiritual traps, areas with disrupted lyrium flow, and feels the effects of the veil much stronger. This does make communication with spirits much easier.
> As the Anchor is magical, post losing the arm, mage Inquisitor would have a much larger scar spreading up towards their shoulder and chest due to it using the natural magic flowing through their veins. The scar will follow along major blood vessels. It will be a much more prominent one as the disrupted flow of magic would make it resistant to magical healing.
> Inquisitor has an extended lifespan due to Mythals presence. Were Mythal to be exorcised from their body, their aging would resume as normal.
