i need to rant about this because it’s so fucking sad, i literally cried over this last night lmao

in x-men 97’ Rogue is asked to join Magneto’s side, to run Genova with him. She hesitates, but agrees. When she goes to break the news to Gambit, he’s shocked. He loves Rogue more than anything, his heart beats for her alone, which is why he doesn’t beg or cry, but instead calmly agrees to be her friend if he can’t be her lover. Even though it kills a part of him.

So Rogue leaves, to chase after the past, to chase after her dream of a lover she can touch. Gambit had tried to tell her love runs deeper than skin, but Rogue was convinced it wasn’t enough.

She floats down the steps, in a stunning red dress, and without gloves. WITHOUT GLOVES!!! Magneto meets her eyes and floats up to join her and the two dance in the air, their hands locked the entire time. Their dance is so tender, their touches slow and lingering and full of passion.

Below them, from the ground, Gambit watches. He watches the woman he loves share an act so intimate and full of love, an act he would’ve risked his life for if only Rogue had listened to him when he’d pleaded to hold her hand for even just a moment. He could’ve shouted at her, he could’ve let his pain bleed through into anger and no one around him would’ve blamed him. But he doesn’t. Because he loves her. And if Magneto is what she needs to be happy, than he will walk away.

He doesn’t see the doubt in Rogue’s eyes. He doesn’t see her kiss him, he doesn’t hear her telling Magneto that, even with their touch, their love can’t compare to what she has with Gambit. And when he dies only minutes later, sacrificing himself to assure the safety of not only Genova but the safety of Rogue, he dies with the memory of Rogue dancing with another man.

this is gut wrenching.

So exactly what the fuck did either of these things have to do with this episode?

You Only Live Twice - no idea. Certainly nothing to do with what he must have known we'd think it meant.

"I can feel you" - NOT an actual line of dialogue despite what the tweet implied.

He absolutely knew how people would interpret these things and nothing came of it at all. It was just a bunch of bullshit. So I guess he was just trolling us for kicks because fuck the fans, amirite?

& Juliet 11/3/24 Notes

- first time seeing the new cast! also khailah!juliet, daniel!shakespeare, nicky!richard, ava!rosaline, romy!lady cap, and alejandro!henry. plus first time seeing michael!may and makai!francois on their principal contracts

- angelique hides behind the bed before teenage dream like she does on the tour

- michael said “no!” in response to “they were all romeo’s exes!” the same way nick does

- the map was not unfolded when charli did her dance with it

- costume stuff! so we sort of still have SMTM costumes? ava and joomin still had their full costumes for it. ava also had all her costumes in general but joomin had all except a different version of the SUBG costume which was his normal SUBG floral shirt with the yellow vest over top of it. romy and reese seemed to be the only people of the new cast to get full costume changes for everything. and there are full blow costumes for everyone.

- jhailyn gets lifted during blow instead of elsa or cassie

- alison messed up the lyric “let the crazy out” but I don’t remember what she said instead

- unfortunately the benvolio and romeo chest bump has been reduced to a fat joke with elsa and liam

- liam!romeo is a mix of tom francis, jordan luke gage, and michael canu. so straight + more of a classic rock voice + incredibly stupid and incredibly in love with juliet

- liam also allowed himself to stim onstage multiple times as romeo

- liam’s romeo vocals are insane

- makai did a riff on the “oh yeah!” in confident and then khailah did one right after him

- the synth patch was NOT put on correctly at the beginning of IWITW so it was just regular piano and everyone was very confused

- there was a moment near the beginning of IML when liam put his arms out like he was jesus which honestly was hilarious considering he also rose from the dead

- after “the carriage driver told us everything” “you’re welcome” there’s an added anne line of “william!”

- the height difference between khailah and liam is incredible. he was like 2 steps down from her on the stairs and still a head taller.

- reese as lord capulet is so extra and I cannot wait to see him and najah together because I just know they’re gonna match each other’s energy so well

- charmion and benvolio are back in the SUBG couples dance :(

RE: Gambit's body type. I thought he was meant to be sort of a middle size, Kurt at the lean end and Piotr at the muscular end.

Among super heros maybe but have you seen the average man?

Most men do not have a 6 pack...

And here he is with an 8 pack....which for most men isn't even physically possible due to genetics.

Gambit is not a middle ground. He's not even farmboy buff. He, like lot of super heros, is very ripped. He's no where near Piotr but Piotr is literally a bronze statue when powered up. He just seems lean based on who he's standing next to, as we've got mini bara bait wolverine on one side of him and the boyscout to rival cap scott summers on the other, and the fact he doesn't literally have super strength but he's still unrealistically buff most depictions. Not even considering his sense of style he would not look out of place in a JoJo's bizarre adventure line up, and that should say something about how buff he is.

Srsly does he look out of place here?

If I were to be generous, and ignore the superhero excess of muscles drawn onto him, he's built like a hockey player just based on how his bone structure is compared to his height. (Even has the flow tbh...)

He's physically not built to be scrawny like a twink unless he's starving to death, and thats ok.

Buff guys should be allowed to be effeminate at times and dress as cat maids too. That's kind of why I like him. By all means he's not the kind of guy you expect to be in touch with his femininity based on stereotypes but he very much is. He's the guy you expect to see at a frat party based on how he looks but instead hed rather be curled up with rogue and his cats and is thinking about being a stay at home dad.

this is so niche but i have a thing for couples who care deeply for eachother, know the other in ways noone else does, will always come when they're needed, but can never be able to touch eachother
