TK makes a soft, pleased noise that has Carlos’ heart doing funny things in his chest. He decides that, contrary to his initial opinion, he loves the obscenely bright lights on the food truck. TK shines under them like a beacon of happiness.

“You wanna do a roleplay later?” TK asks, now smirking as if he’s won his own version of the battle of Texline. “It will be fun.”

“Really?” Carlos counters, arching an eyebrow. “Please don’t say it’s the gas station attendant and customer one you suggested in the car. There are only so many euphemisms you can make about gas pumps.”

i'm a writer irl (can't say who because my agent would rightfully put me into a blender and press the button if i go and out myself as "balrogballs") and honestly the funniest and most humiliating incident of my life was the time my finished manuscript triggered a plagiarism flag with the publisher for two lines of prose in my literary fiction novel...

.... which was word for word similar to a paragraph in a certain explicit work on FFN starring elrond and his batsman from the hobbit films, aka that one elf that looked like he ate panic attacks for breakfast (i forget his name but it's Figwit II) where the lord of imladris bends said twink over his writing desk and gives him the battering ram treatment.

and if you think i had to sit in front of one if the biggest publishing companies in the world and admit that it was, in fact, me who wrote the fic where the lord of imladris bends said twink over his writing desk and gives him the battering ram treatment in order to avoid being wrongly flagged for plagiarism, you would be absolutely correct.

I know I've said it before but every rewatch I do cements this thought further - elijah wood's performance in LOTR is absolutely insane, they really had a character whose name means "wise by experience", hired an 18-year-old to do it, and he delivered so much that not only is it a beautiful and moving role on its own, it's a performance equal to those of the absolute powerhouses he played side by side with like ian holm and ian mckellen. to name just a few

hello, anon :) it is true. thank you for asking about it!

i'm concurrently writing eurotrip and the ring-in sequel. my goal is to finish both by mid-late September!

i am SUPER happy with ch 1 of the ring-in sequel. it has exactly the same vibes as the first one (imo), but chapter 2 is a little slow going because i have this particular, kinda silly sex scene i want to write and i think i've built it up in my head too much and now it's haunting me. ANWYAY. we persist. i just finished a circuit breaker prompt fill, so my attention is turning back to the ring-in!

you didn't ask for this, but have a snippet from ch 2:

“I didn’t want to mention it before, but my dad just messaged out group chat—” Carlos grits his teeth. “Where’s he taking the Camaro, TK?” “Nowhere bad!” TK protests. “He’s just excited about driving it to some date he’s got tonight. I guess he thinks it’s a…chick magnet.” Carlos snorts. The very concept of his car being used to seduce women is so foreign from its intended purpose, which is to accelerate fast, look pretty and be a convenient place to make out with TK. In Carlos’ admittedly biased view, the only person who is truly flattered by the passenger seat of his car is his husband. “Anyway,” TK adds, now scrolling their shared roadtrip playlist. “We know that it’s basically impossible to get up to anything freaky in that car because of how small it is—” “TK,” Carlos says sharply. “That’s— He’s your father.” “I’m just saying!” TK protests, dropping his phone into his lap as his left hand flails about demonstratively, “We’ve tried to do road head like, seven times, and—” “You’ve thrown your neck out?” TK throws him a dark look. “No need to rub it in. Last time it needed a lot of ibuprofen.” “Yes, as the almost-beneficiary of road head, I would know.”
