This seems like as good a place as any to announce the next "Friendly Phantoms" fic (Part 23). Even though Protective!Vlad isn't the main focus. It will show up later on, however.

The title is "No Matter the Cost." You know how Danny has healing powers and one of his ghost parents has a permanent core injury? Danny thinks he's found a way to fix that...except that he might destabilize in the process. Does he care? Of course not! Didn't you read the title?

Sometimes i like to play with this idea that if Danny went to rescue Vlad from the GIW and helped him with recovering (because he would be in really bad shape after that) Vlad not only would change his ways but he would become very loyal and protective to Danny in return.

Because for Vlad it would be like he is reliving similar experiences to the one he had post the portal accident but this time he has someone who sticks around for him and helps him. I think he would really appreciate that he feels like he has someone who he can trust now after so many years.

He would turn into one of those guardian dogs that even if you dare to leave an scratch on Danny, he would kill you without blinking.
