"I have stuff that I use. Or rather, stuff that I've brought back since I had my change of heart." The promise list, the list of good things to do and so on. It was something that her mom had done to make her do stuff and for the most part it did work, and she got rewarded with extra allowance, toys, games and when she got her first computer, component upgrades since those weren't too expensive yet.
Those were the days.
"I have a promise list, of things that I plan on doing. I also track all the good things that I do. Whether it's helping people, picking up trash and so on. Just things that I was taught as a kid that I abandoned after my mom's death. Helps me realize that everything that I do is good, even if I don't see the benefits." Plus doing good for the sake of it was also the best way to go about things.
"Though maybe I can add journal entries. I'm not much for writing stuff down though so it'd have to be an electronic journal." Typing was better for her, even if her hand writing was kind of bad as a result. Oh well, she was gonna be working in a field where she didn't have to write things down. "Overall though I'm doing fine. With that said, I still have depressive episodes. I push through them."
He finally turned his attention away from the window and ceased the fidgets in his pockets as he listened to her. Akechi had never been to her palace, he wasn't even aware she'd had one at that point during the investigation. A different thought crossed his mind then.
"I've been told to start keeping journals. Just...whether they're mundane thoughts, things that weigh on the more emotional side, troubling memories or emotions, things that might intrigue me--anything like that, I'm supposed to write down. As part of my therapy. Have you tried doing anything similar?"
"I didn't think so before I started, but now I find...it's easier to sort through my thoughts if I write them down."

@cxdemusings replied to you in a post “Why don't you believe in Astrology?”:
@oraclememehacker "Of all people, I thought you'd be the one to agree."
"That's not the funny option though. And definitely not what you say when Jupiter's red spot is intensifying."

@violetinfaith replied to your post “Futaba bites you affectionately. What do you do.”:
Sumi would become a puddle, and her face becomes as red as her hair.
"Worst things have happened." Bites again affectionately.

"Yep, that's the game. The one where, at least in the gba version anyways, they went to Dinosaur island because of a picnic." Why go to an island for a picnic via a hot air balloon she didn't understand at all but then again video games didn't make much sense to begin with story wise so she would just push that all aside. She would love to ride a hot air balloon sometime though.
"And yeah, I had some real nostalgia even if it had been only a couple of years since I played it, heh. But yeah emulation is really neat and even though there has been attempts to take it down, legally speaking I think emulation is legal. Or rather, emulators themselves can't be taken down but the distribution of roms and isos is the problem since it's piracy and all that."
Technically the most legal thing was to buy a copy and rip it yourself but even then some would consider that piracy but she didn't anyways. "I have a considerable rom collection. I don't pirate the newest generation of games though, because I want to support the creators. And indie games definitely not. If you pirate indie games you are scum, tbh."
"I'll say, I mean while it's great that some games get to stay alive with re-releases and remakes, the majority of games aren't so lucky and would end up being lost to time if not for these folks," For every game that seemingly was released for every new console generation, how many other hidden gems had slipped through the cracks to be forgotten by time, known only by the few who had played them? So in that sense, yeah, he could definitely see why a lot of people were drawn to emulation and piracy.
"Definitely sounds amazing - I was never really able to figure that stuff out but I'd hear about it sometimes from friends," He admits, tech having never been a strong suit of his - he wouldn't have even known where to begin in terms of emulation and his own lack of knowledge or skills had always warded him away from such an idea, due to not wanting to unintentionally download a nasty virus onto the sole computer in house for a long time - hell, even now that he had his own computer, he tended not to venture too far out of websites he was unfamiliar with. "Still, that must have been one hell of an amazing feeling - having all of these games at your fingertips and wondering just where to start," He adds with a chuckle.
"That's the game where you hatch the little dino guy to ride around o n, right...?" He remembered some semblance of this game, whether it was owning it as a kid or playing it at a friend's house. "Must have been one hell of a throwback when you got it running - plus, you have a good point about getting it to run even better on a computer than on an old piece of hardware,"

Online Meeting IRL (Futaba/Sylvia)
Location: Akihibara Time: Afternoon
"Damn, the Featherman search was fruitless." Futaba let off a sigh as all she was finding was the usual common stuff in all the stores that she usually perused. It was either stuff she already had or stuff that she didn't have room for in her really small room or that she just wasn't interested in to begin with. Well, she decided to check out another shop that sold figures.
It was a nice little shop, and had figures from various pieces of media, including Pokemon/Pocket Monsters. She always found it amusing that the west basically shortened the name and it became the standard for everywhere. Well, it was a more fun name to say anyways. As she was perusing the place, some Pokemon music playing through her headphones, she saw something interesting.
They were rare minifigures from Tomy from 1998. And they were just standing there out in the open. Maybe the owner didn't quite understand their value. She went to pick up the Charizard one when she felt a hand grab hers. She jolted back in surprise as she saw who it was. She didn't know who they were but she was certainly taken by surprise.
"Oh um...s-sorry about that...h-heh, you um, took me by surprise...I'm glad I didn't knock those down."

"Well then it was probably Inari's fault. Or Akiren's fault. I've done absolutely nothing today. Well, I did troll a featherman hater on a forum but I doubt that's what you're talking about anyways."
"Ryuji thinks a computer chip is something you can eat, Futaba. He didn't do it."

"English has so many rules and such that contradict itself or doesn't even follow it's own rules. It's kind of crazy. I don't know any french though aside from some meme phrases." Japanese and English were the languages she knew, and her English was definitely not all that great. Just good enough for the online forums and such that she frequented and such.
The sounds of people talking about the subway heading to Yongen filled the area as they were getting close. "And yeah, it's called Didactic memory. Whenever I close my eyes, I can visualize something perfectly. It doesn't last too long, just long enough for me to really be able to see it. And that's how I was able to remember books from memory. Along with me just loving books in general. I'll have to try out some international books then."
Soon the subway stopped at their destination and they got off, Futaba stretching and moving her arms around. And then they were heading towards her neighborhood. "It's pretty narrow around here, as expected of these sorts of areas. The cafe is just up the road from here, and then my house is in the area. Not a big house, but it works enough for me and my dad."
"That's really cool!" Kotone stood closer to the aisle, letting Futaba have the window spot more away from the people. Seemed right since Futaba was shorter and less good with people. "That's called uh... Edi...? No... Gie...? No... Didactic Memory! That's the one! Where you can recall images vividly from memory! That is super cool to have!"
Kotone smirked. "I've been reading a couple light novels, but a friend of mine has suggested more international books actually. I use a translation app to put the books in Japanese when I take a pic of the pages. It's super cool! Though I know a little English and I'm learning French." Was she learning French to impress Mitsuru? Yes. She liked showing off to her for... reasons.
