Happy Jeffcest Yuletide!
I am so excited, you don't even know. There's a Sir Gawain and the Green Knight fusion. There's non-traditional narrative. There are TWO games. I have armed myself Kim Theerapanyakul-style with string and post-it notes, and am settling in for a cozy day of reading.
“Unforeseen circumstances,” Moonshine quips, and he still doesn’t get the benefit of being looked at even as he crosses the room and drops heavily into the ratty faux-leather armchair that sits directly opposite Sunshine’s finely upholstered seat. “Something I think might even interest you.”
The tentative balance of a niche community is rocked by the unexpected. A natural order is disrupted, and suspicions start to rise. How quickly can you find a solution that might save a life?
You look through your reflection to the city beyond. The view is distorted, blurred by glassy ripples like the surface of a lake. There are no people on the abandoned streets, only the shapes carved out for them in the buildings and vehicles that now stand empty.
It’s already begun, then. Even at night, the city shouldn’t be this dark: An endless void beyond a fragile pane of glass.
Your skin prickles. You have the eerie sense that someone is watching you. And for some reason, you’re afraid to look.
Humanity’s fascination with mirrors is reflected in our stories and myths. While many studies focus on the psychological reasons for this preoccupation with our own image, there is a large body of folklore devoted to mirrors as portals to other places. This paper examines the liminal spaces explored through mirrors in world folklore.
J: Did you annotate the research notes for my folk studies class?
T: Maybe your reflection did it
J: Ha ha
A hand lifts his chin, and Ghost closes his eyes against the swirling wrongness of this featureless thing. “Are you a man or are you a machine?” the Knight says softly. “That's not a rhetorical question. Your actions will answer it for me. It's quite valuable to know what you have at your disposal.”
--
Ghost makes a few wagers, wins a year of freedom, and gets in too deep with a pair of strangers. The only problem is that he's promised to die at the end of that year.

Io SSSSSSSSaturnalia!
We are now accepting prompts for our Saturnalia edition of JeFFFFFFFFest!
Prompts will be accepted anonymously via our airtable form until December 17th. Prompts can be as detailed or vague as you like (for example just a specific character and a trope). Please also feel free to submit images or suggest songs and whatnot that might inspire someone creatively!
If you are submitting multiple prompts, please fill out the form separately for each prompt.
Link to the Prompt Submission Form.
As a reminder as you are thinking of prompts, we will be accepting all sorts of multimedia works as part of the fest, so individuals selecting prompts to fill may decide to write a fic, sketch an image, make gifs, create a playlist, write and record a song, create a stop-motion fanvid using lego -- anything goes!
And feel free to join our discord if you have questions or just want to discuss/brainstorm with others.
Happy Jeff-ing! 🪐

🪐👀🪐👀🪐👀🪐👀🪐 Next Station: Saturn
To celebrate Saturnalia, an ancient Roman festival held in honor of the god Saturn, we're holding a fun mini Jeffcest (aka Jeff Satur MV Universe) fanwork fest that's open to artists and writers of all types, and we'll be open to all kinds of fanworks: text-based, visual, audio, interactive -- anything goes!
Timeline:
Dec 13th we'll start accepting prompts
Dec 17th we'll compile and post a list of all prompts (anonymous)
Dec 17th to Jan 1st we'll be accepting works to our AO3 collection and share posts on tumblr.
Please also feel free to submit visual or audio prompts like images, songs, poetry, or even a meme if it is giving you serious jeffcest vibes.
There is no minimum word count or length/time required to spend on a work. Think of these as stocking-stuffers. There is also no limit to how many prompts a person can fill and prompts will not be limited to one person. The goal is for this to be a fun, low-pressure event where everyone can play and be creative. (And if you're feeling brave, why not dabble in a type of fanwork you've never tried before?)
We have a discord server over at Jeffffffffest if you would like to join and hang. New people are always welcome (unless your name is Jeff Satur. Please do not join our server if you are Jeff Satur)!
In the meantime, start thinking of some prompts!
Happy Jeff-ing 🪐💜

琅琊榜 | Nirvana in Fire (TV)
Lin Shu | Mei Changsu | Su Zhe/Xiao Jingyan
Not Rated (I would say between Teen and Mature)
Rec: A character study in grief, beautifully-written and devastating. Pining for someone you love and can't be with...because they want you to believe they've died, again, and you're respecting their wishes because you're a stubborn, noble water buffalo. Also featuring nearly all of my favorite NIF ladies being their awesome selves.
