I’ve seen some people add Officer Bailey into the Jon Matteson character family tree as one of Richie’s uncles and I love it so much. But why stop there? If we really wanna joke about how big this family is why not add more Curt Mega characters into it?

Curt’s shopper from Black Friday? Yeah he’s one of Richie’s uncles and he and Gary talked about who was gonna get a Wiggly doll for which kid.

Eddie Chiplucky is a very distant relative from the south and he actually looks out for Daniel in the ring (shhh I don’t care if it’s accurate to the show we’re having fun here).

Hell even President Howard Goodman is distantly related to these people! I know because I saw pictures of him as a little kid in the huge family photo album Paul keeps on a random bookshelf in his living room.

Is Duke Keane related to them? Who knows! Definitely not him!

I’m just saying that like half of the adults in hatchetfeild are Richie’s (also Trever’s and Daniel’s) uncles and I love that for him (them).

Conversations and Revelations by ummltu83 - M, 10 chapters - They would spend their days immersed in reading, tending to the garden, and engaging in meaningful conversations and lively debates. Mornings began with a quiet ritual of tea and books, each absorbed in their own literary worlds before sharing insights over breakfast. Their afternoons were dedicated to tending the garden, enjoying the simple pleasure of working side by side in the fresh air. Evenings were reserved for deeper discussions, exploring a range of topics from pureblood philosophy to magical healing with arguments often centred around discussions of their favourite opinion columnist, Ursa Major (clearly a nom-de-plume), from The Discerning Digest. Second page. 1. Gintoki keeps pressing buttons and says "Zura told me he'd buy me a parfait if I helped him with some copies, but I've never used this machine" Takasugi says "You know a weird primitive OS but no how to use a photocopier?!" 2. Gintoki keeps pressing buttons and the photocopier keeps beeping in pain while he says "That's rich from the guy still using a flip phone". Takasugi, pinching the bridge of his nose annoyed says "… give that to me." Third page. 1. They wait while the photocopier does its work. 2. A bottle of Yakult comes flying, whacks Takasugi's head and bounces. Gintoki has his hands ready to receive it. Out of panel someone says "Watch out, uncle Sugi!!" Fourth page. 1. A smiling Kagura wearing the mailgirl uniform, says "This week's Yakult shipment just arrived!!!" 2. She turns her back saying "Bye, uncle Sugi, bye, Gin chan!!!" Fifth page: 1. Takasugi touches his head where the Yakult landed saying "The fuck you're feeding her?!" He's in pain. Gintoki, with one arm around him says "Don't think you're beating the Yakult allegations soon, uncle Sugi" 2. Takasugi, annoyed, with a bump on his head, gives the copies to Gintoki saying "… enjoy your parfait", and Gintoki, happily answers "Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!!!!!!" End Id.]

👀: How does your ship with your f/o influence both of your characterisations and the world? Would there be any interesting metas written about your dynamic?

ohhhh this is Another ask that would be better in a decade when we have more of the story LMFAOOOOOO but i def think theres a big shift in characterization once shanks and i get more screentime and it's revealed we r married! it's a situation very similar to shaki and rayleigh i think, where we r ambiguous enough on-screen but oda confirms in an sbs that im shanks' wife—a reveal that shocks the world i must confess, and which spawns. so much meta about him For Sure. i mean everything shanks does spawns meta abt him. oda doesnt like writing romance in general so in this hypothetical it rlly would be super casual and fairly understated, but the fact Of shanks having a wife is such a humanizing thing that i cant see that reveal happening until much, much later on, after he's already begun to be humanized in other ways and is assured to be on luffy's side and not a big mystery pfft. ofc however for every thoroughly unpacked meta theres 5 fans who hold up the one (1) lovesick panel shanks is allotted and go "LOOK AT THIS SICK BASTARD HES LEADING HER ON!!! THERES NOTHING BEHIND THOSE EYES!!!" which is very funny 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

been very slowly going through the phryne fisher novels (on blood and circuses rn) and its reminded me of one of the episodes in season 2 of the tv adaptation (i think? maybe season 3) where the plot revolved around university students at a Melbourne college abd the murder of a professor, and one of the main characters who is briefly posited as a murder suspect is an autistic woman working as a student helper to the professor (its not like. explicitly said bcos the show is set in the 1930s) and its somehow... one of the more accurate and sensitive depictions of an autistic person ive seen in tv media? shes shown to be stand-offish and awkward and uncomfortable in social situations and the character that torments her about this is very clearly The Bad Person And Asshole. When questioning her about the murder Phryne actively finda a way to talk to her in a way shes comfortable with (both nose to nose against a wall, some distance from one another, not making eye contact, speaking quietly because this entire situation has pretty much sent her into a meltdown ). when they realize shes at risk of being harmed phryne has her stay at her home. shes shown to be incredibly passionate about her area of study in the university (a bit of it plays into the savant stereotype which is one of the few issues prevalent in media about autistic people like the good doctor, etc, but uts not presented as like "oh shes autistic BUT shes really smart about this thing and basically a superhero so its okay") shes shown to have specific dietary requirements shes adamant about (jam sandwiches only.) and the other characters are like "oh! weird. actually, thats not my business. let me grab you one." and she develops a really lovely friendship with phryne that ties into the whole plot and motive for the murder (another professor killing the murdered professor so he can prevent information which disprove his biological and sociological research which is based entirely on eugenics and psuedoscience, which the murder victim found disgusting and didnt want taught when his assistants existence literally disproved that bullshit) and i don't know how to finish this i guess i wasnt expecting a genuine attempt at properly representing autistic people in this show about murders in the 1930s
