For Christmas, I want Robin to arrive home and the two boys have vanished. (You don't need to write a drabbles, you can just say how she would react)
Robin would think that they are just hiding. She’d worry which one would be worse, letting them hide or finding them to make sure they aren’t hurt/scared. Eventually, they would go search for the boys and if they’re fine, Robin would leave them alone.
But after looking and calling for them, Robin realizes that they’re gone and gets terrified for the boys safety. She’d spend all day calling everyone they know around the area to search while also looking around themself. She’d reluctantly call the human pet version of animal control. Everyone Robin calls for help is going to get a very stern speech about not hurting the guys and leaving punishment entirely up to them. Obviously there’s no real punishment coming but that’s not the point.
Robin wouldn’t rest until they get Spencer and Remington back. She wouldn’t even be mad or question them at first, just hug them and cry. Remington won’t put up with that for long tho, so Robin just makes sure they’re both alright and then gets them anything they need. Dirty? Have a relaxing bath. Hungry? I ordered the finest, just for you.
The boys would be antsy as hell without a punishment to Robin’s dismay, but she isn’t surprised at all. They’d come up with a fake punishment/lesson, some thing like “watch a safety video with me about not getting into bad situations and stranger danger then tell me about it in your own words.”
After this whole incident, Robin fears that she’s been keeping the guys trapped in the house. They start going out a lot and Robin encourages them pick the place they want, but it doesn’t really work. Spencer eventually picks stuff, but only things he knows make Robin happy. Remington refuses out of principal half the time. The other half he makes impossible/ weird requests to try and irritate Robin. It doesn’t work and she finds loopholes (like I’m imaging he says the inside of a human at one point and she takes him to one of the museum exhibits that have rooms that look like the human body.)
#I had fun thinking about this#my poor neglected OCs#you had so much potential#ask#kim poce#robin’s nest#Robin Simmons#remington#spencer#also I have no idea if anyone else has seen those museum exhibits that I mention at the end but I’ve since then twice and heard about-#another one so I’m just hoping most people know what they are

Can you do a one-shot, Bayverse Optimus, with an adopted human reader. Based on the song 'More than Anything' from Hazbin Hotel?
anon, I am very happy to make this request, I recently finished watching Hazbin Hotel. I have to say I fell in love with Charlie and Lucifer's father/daughter relationship. So I have approached it this way, Optimus and GN!reader!human know each other from one of the NEST raids at the beginning of the second movie. Let's say you were 8 or 9 years old, no Reader hadn't seen it from age of extinction to the last knight. Reader had 22 years (more or less)
youtube
You are part of who I am
Bayverse Optimus Prime x GN!human!reader (adopted)
Words : 2,056
Summary: You had created a proposal for an alliance of humans and cybertronians but not many agreed. You didn't have much means until you had no choice but to call your father. Based in 'More than anything' of hazbin hotel
Warning: g/t fluff and angst, confort, mentions of death, happy ending and surprise
Y/N was so close to being able to make a dream come true, peace between the two species. It could be done, it was done once it could be done again. Those days when Y/N missed meeting with the Cybertronians but despite having saved the world. Earth and Cybertron would be side by side.
There was quite a bit of disagreement about forming an alliance again, there was a lot of chaos and destruction in Optimus' absence when he went to find the creators. Trusts had fallen but at least a few could help Y/N…. Cade, Shane, Tessa… Some former allies returned Simmons and Lennox. Diplomacy was in the doldrums… Cogman gave you some advice.
-Miss Y/N you must not give up, you are close to being able to have an audience with your leaders.
-But the proposal is no good to them… They need more proof - said Y/N preparing more photos and documents.
Cade was watching more documents while he sighed - Y/N, I think it's about time you ask for help to… him
Y/N folded its arms, it sighed, it hadn't seen its father for a while, he was busy with the reconstruction of Cybertron. He hadn't had time to talk to you, nor had you had time to talk to him. You didn't want to bother him, since you wanted to accomplish this on your own.
-I will find a way…
Cogman was already on the phone - Lord Prime, we need your… - Cogman said as Y/N took the phone from him.
-Hey dad, how's it going? - Y/N said trying to be calm.
Y/N could note her father's deep baritone with some joy.
-It's been a long time since you called me, what's wrong?
Y/N sighed again as he sat up seeing that Cogman and Cade were looking at him to move forward talking.
-You see… We have a proposal for an alliance like we did with NEST. I would need your help
-No… - Optimus said seriously.
Y/N felt his heart break a little, he thought at least his father would be there to support the idea but he didn't give up.
-But Dad you did it with NEST once. Don't you remember those times? Wouldn't it be best for both worlds if we joined together?
Y/N heard Optimus growl on the other end of the phone.
-Not a very good idea, Y/N, I know what you want to do, but… You shouldn't get involved in something you can't control…
-But Dad…
-No, it's my last word, if you'll excuse me, I have to…
-NO! If we talk about this in person, you will see what we have accomplished here. Please - Y/N said a bit desperately.
If Optimus Prime denied this alliance then there would be no hope and TRF or a group like Cementery Wind would be back again. It didn't understand why Optimus didn't agree with the idea or that it was in charge of the agreement. It also knew that her father wasn't the same since Quintessa brainwashed him. He had been self-conscious as well…
Y/N knew that Optimus always overprotected her but Y/N was no longer a child in fact she is an adult. If she was going to argue her point she was going to do it any way she could.
-All right, I'll come talk to you this afternoon," said Optimus as the call was cut off.
-That was a good development, Miss Y/N," said Cogman as Y/N leaned her head on the table.
Cade walked over to her - You just need to reason with him. Understand that as a father he also wants to protect you
-Cade, no I'm a child…. I want this world to live in harmony both species we have a lot to give. You know that as well as I do - Y/N said as Cade stroked your head.
Cade was with father to Y/N too, he had helped Y/N since Optimus left almost raising you as if it was also his child as well as Tessa and Izzy the new addition to the family.
-You still hold your optimism well, but you both have been through a lot. You will still be his child in his eyes
-Optics - said Cogman correcting him - Miss Y/N, surely if you see all the progress we've made…. Accepting some bots with humans.
-I don't know if Crosshairs along with Shane is a good idea…. I've had to keep the officers at bay - said Y/N.
-Don't think about it they are still trying to improve…. Look for example: Hot Rod and Vivian were getting along very well since the incident - said Cade trying to cheer her up.
-After kidnapping her at first, sir - said Cogman as Cade slapped his hand to his forehead.
Y/N stood up as Cogman and Cade got into a debate. Y/N went to communicate the news to the rest of the bots and humans.
Y/N was starting to have a lot of doubts about it, besides how were going to handle it, she looked at the autobot pendant he gave her. It couldn't give up now.
Hours later…
Y/N had prepared every bot and every human above all that Hound, Crosshairs would not approach the weaponry or try to disturb Cogman, last time there were several problems in this regard.
Cade saw that Y/N was pacing around as Izzy approached excitedly.
-She looks very nervous, she should be excited," said Izzy as she approached Y/N.
Cade took the papers away from Y/N to concentrate on the people around her.
-It would be all right, little bell…. You just have to be calm…
-Lord Prime is already entering the place," said Cogman.
The unmistakable entrance of Optimus with all the bots and humans watching him talking to him. It reminded Y/N of the old days in NEST talking to Ironhide, Ratchet… But now… he was more apathetic, more subdued.
-Lord Prime we are honored to have you in our little haven. It has been in collaboration of some bots….
-Mostly my workmanship - said Hound proudly.
Y/N approached as he watched Optimus kneel down -Welcome to Omega One shelter, we give shelter to both humans and any type of Bot that wants to establish communication with humans.
-Mostly Autobots… If you bring Decepti here….
-Crosshairs, kid, the official visit better be made by the daughter," said Hound, pushing him away.
Y/N nodded to Hound as Crosshairs being around could spoil the occasion so he would do whatever it took to make sure it didn't go wrong.
Y/N showed the facilities showing all the collaboration… The energon supply, food, the electrical system with energon created between Cade and Brains. The houses although of enormous size adapted to the different sizes of the autobots and humans. Which seemed curious once you got to look at it.
-We want all this to have more zones… The alliance would not only help humans, it would also help cybertronians who need to stay on Earth," Y/N said as he sat in a sitting area with Optimus and Cade.
-We have considered all possible measures with the Autobots….
-Have you considered the remaining Decepticons? Several of them are in Human Security cells, plus we can't ignore the fact that Megatron is still at large… There are Autobots who after the treatment of the humans over the years do not want to agree to this deal - Optimus said seriously.
-We have considered having a trial conducted by you and some Autobots… Dad, some Decepticons may change… Brains and Wheelie are the example. I know it will cost to change the minds of people and Cybertronians - said Y/N with all the feeling in his voice.
-The trial would see it as fair, but some Decepticons can try humans and vice versa. With the battle of Chicago - said Optimus seriously while clenching his fist.
The Battle of Chicago was the decline of the alliance leading to runaway situations of all… Of the loss of many autobots among them… Ratchet and human casualties with that of… Sam. Y/N hadn't commented much on the subject with him or Bumblebee who keeps remembering his friend with brother.
-But we can't fall into those mistakes, we can do better," Y/N said as Optimus frowned while Y/N folded his arms.
Cade was seeing that the situation was getting too complicated for them to talk to each other. Besides, it was something more serious that they needed to talk to each other, so he walked away, leaving them some space and taking Cogman with him who was watching in the distance.
-I'm sorry, Y/N, but this idea is not going to work," Optimus said, standing up and dropping his commanding tone.
Y/n saw what he was doing closing in again, creating a wall as he had done before.
-I can't abandon them… If we don't make that deal the chases will come up again," said Y/N as Optimus turned his back on him.
-I made a mistake in creating that alliance…. - Optimus said as he left.
-Meaning finding me was a mistake? - said Y/N making Optimus stop in his tracks - You remember that moment…. My family died because of a Decepticon… I had no one else. And you decided to take care of me, even though we are not of the same blood.
Optimus turned around and knelt down in front of Y/N looking her in the eyes.
-I couldn't just leave you there, you were such a pure and sensitive soul…. I tried, little one… I don't want them to destroy you like they did me. You're the only thing that makes me stay…. - Optimus said with a broken voice as Y/N touched his cheek.
-Dad… I always admired how you did things, being strong yet kind enough to both humans and autobots and even the Decepticons. You were my source of inspiration for this alliance. When you left to search for the creators I tried my best to find a way to help…. I thought I would never see you again, unless your legacy lived on among us," Y/N said as tears welled up in his eyes.
Optimus went to wipe her tears with his digit - Y/N… I… my little one - said Optimus as he lifted her up and brought her closer to her chassis - I have had a hard time, the brainwashing made me think several things among them what would happen if I fell again and hurt you… I could not forgive myself. You are the best thing that has ever happened in my long life, I can't lose that innocence of yours…. Though you have become a warrior.
Y/N I look at the optics - We'll make it work this time, you won't lose me so quickly…. You see I'm not alone. I just need your support is all I ask - Y/N said as Optimus squeezed him closer.
-I missed you in my arms and your little smile," said Optimus smiling.
Y/N saw a sincere smile, something it haven't seen in a long time in its presence -…. Thank you for adopting me that day…
-Thank you for changing my life that day," Optimus said as he held you in his arms for a while longer.
Y/N stayed closer to him despite all the difficulties they had, Optimus will continue to be a part of her life as she is in his.
While not too far from where they were….
Most bots and humans with tissues in hand watching and hearing what they were talking about thanks Cogman.
-Just beautiful, they have opened their hearts," said Cogman as Izzy grabbed a handkerchief.
-You know that if they both find out they're going to kill us, right? said Hound as Cade nodded.
-Yes, we'd better not say a word, otherwise we don't want anger from both of them," said Cade with a smile, looking at the picture and remembering his daughter.
It didn't matter if she was human or cybertronian, this was the proof of a coexistence of cybertronians and humans.
Caring for each other.
More than anything.

Something about looking at Grimmons art/writing over the years... people really kept trying to give these two a short-cut, y'know? Like, everybody who wanted them to get together would go; they could have happened here, or there, in the shade, at Rat's Nest, after the cliff, at the crash site on Chorus, while they trying to be captains, before or after the temple incident, on Iris, in the cave, before or after the OTHER Temple incident, when they get done with time-travel, or when Grif said "Come with me", or a thousand other times. Everybody tried to give them a short-cut, but Grif and Simmons just said "No, what if we drive ourselves and everybody else bonkers for two decades" instead

Cut to Church's ghost standing over Caboose's body, surrounded by everyone else
Washington: What is going on?
Church: Wash, stay calm. We can explain.
Washington: I don't want explanations, I want the truth. Now. When were you gonna tell me about this?
Church: Okay, maybe I should start from the beginning. You see, Caboose here, killed me by accident once. Well actually, more than once.
Caboose: Not my fault. Tucker did it.
Church: Shut up.
Washington: He killed you. As in... dead.
Sarge: Then we reached an agreement. I built Blue over here a new body-
Church: Agreement? More like we kicked your ass, and you didn't have much of a choice of what you wanted to do.
Sarge: Who kicked what now?
Simmons: What're you, an idiot?
Sarge: You wanna take that back.
Church: You guys totally gave up!
Grif: Bullshit.
Church: That was the time that Tex kicked your asses all over-
Washington: Stop. Focus. How did you build him a body?
Sarge: With a robot kit of course. I'd already used ours to build our helper. Lopez.
Simmons: And a mighty fine job you did too, sir..
Grif: Yeheah, it's always great to have a helper no one can understand.
Sarge: Blue Team hadn't used theirs for some reason, and they even had an extra. We used that for your buddy, uh, whatsername.
Washington: And that didn't strike anyone as odd? That you would have a kit to build a robot that looks like a soldier?
Simmons: That's just standard issue equipment. Right?
Washington: What? No. Have you ever run in to anyone else who has one?
Simmons: We don't really get out that often.
Sarge: Okay, smart guy. If they're so rare, then why did Command send us upgraded ones when we were told to ship out to Rat's Nest?
Church: You guys went to Rat's Nest too?
Sarge: I used some of the spare parts to spruce up Lopez.
Simmons: Spare parts? Did you fix his voice thing?
Sarge: You know, I didn't even think about that until just this second. Kind of obvious in hindsight. Probably best not to mention it to him if you see him.
Simmons: Meh, he wouldn't understand anyway.

I think something super important that happens between Grif and Simmons over time is that they start not being each others only option. In blood gulch, they’re all each other have got. In Rats Nest they’re still the only people they know, and Valhalla is similar to blood gulch— but on chorus? On Iris? After Grif quits and they rejoin each other? Simmons realizing that he WANTS Grif to be there and Grif realizing that, even if there are other options of who to be around? He misses Simmons. They aren’t the only ones they have— they choose actively to be around each other, and that’s what love is, I think

Personal highlights from...
Red vs Blue The Ultimate Fan Guide
In honor of s19 and the continuation of where s13 left off, here are some highlights from the ultimate fan guide published back in 2015. I've been re-watching the show and it made me want to flip back through the guide. (Everything is sort of in the order it appears in the book, with a few exceptions)
Delta appears as a guide of sorts with fun facts
Caboose's position is listed as "Team Rookie/Occasional Captain/ Church's Best Friend" (it is actually struck out in the book)
He is also the only one listed with the title Captain, appearing as "Private/Captain Michael J. Caboose" (due to Wash "promoting" him, in the canyon on chorus)
Tucker is "Private First Class", Church, Donut, and Simmons are "Private"s, Sarge is listed as a "Colonel" under rank (the other Red's and Blue's ranks appears with their name while his is under "position"), and Grif is "Minor Junior Private, Negative First Class"
Wash used to be a chronic bed wetter (thanks D)
There's also a six page transcript of his psych eval prior to PF where we find out he injured a commanding officer because he wanted to "send everyone to their deaths", he also put a former bully through a mirror in fifth-grade
Grif is stated to have been assigned to Blood Gulch because he was the only survivor of an alien attack on a colony during the great war, he fell asleep at his post and everyone assumed he was KIA
Donut's position is listed as "On all fours... cleaning Red bade"
Doc's profile is "Doc/ O'Malley" and the whole thing lists both their interests, i.e "Position: Canyon Medic, Galactic Overlord"
Andy's (the bomb) name is "Andrew D. Kaboom"
Sheila and Filss share a page
Tex's notable attributes are "Kicking ass (and nuts), being a mean lady, and resurrection"
The password to unlock the file on Beta that CT left behind was "Allison" (Thanks again D)
York's page comments "Several reports were filed against Agent York claiming he and Agent Carolina had something of a "personal" relationship [...] Freelancer Command was unable to find any proof to support these accusations."
One of his notable attributes is "watching his right side" and his position is "team scoundrel"
Eta and iota (Carolina's AIs) were "fear and happiness"
According to the official time line, Carolina was around 6 when Allison died (Allison died 23 years before Blood Gulch and Carolina was born 29 years before)
Wyoming's real name is Reginald
South Dakota's Status is listed as "Extra Crispy"
Smith once spent two days contemplating in silence what Caboose meant when he said his favorite color was "Happy"
Dr. Grey's position is "(Mad) Doctor", she was considered a prodigy at age 11 when she diagnosed every patient in House M.D. within five minutes of their introduction, and she thinks Grey's Anatomy is "far too trite"
Felix and Locus' names are listed as Unknown in the book, but I do believe their names were revealed in a s14 episode
The counselor advised the director to tell Tex that Alpha was in Blood Gulch to protect him and stop her from investigating the project
Notable Features of Blood Gulch include "Avoid Tucker's Rock at all costs, as it has not been properly sterilized"
BTS from D: The opening shot of Season 6 was created by shooting players moving in different quadrants and combining the shots"
Important events at High Ground, "Washington killed Agent south in cold blood- with a much less cold flamethrower."
Fact from D: "Once a year, Reds and Blues stationed at Rat's Nest still pay tribute to Agent Alabama by sending a flaming mongoose soaring through the night sky."
Donut likes to spend his leisure time in Federal Army Outpost 37, in the jail cells in handcuffs
The statistics pages, 9 pages of stats from number of robots murdered (112) to Church's sniper rifle accuracy (9.3%)
Bow Chicka Bow Wow was first said in season 4, and Simmons never sucked up in season 12, season one had the most "son of a bitch"s at 14 Donut made 32 accidental innuendos, and the odd number of pedals in vehicles was called out on five occasions Tucker has the highest kill count of all reds and blues (counting wash and Tex), at 24 followed by donut at 22 and Tex at 21, Caboose is the lowest at 2 raised by Lopez and 3 and Church at 8 Sarge has threatened/wished death on Grif 56 times, and Donut has nearly died five times Seasons 2 and 9 had the lowest kill counts Carolina had the highest flash back kills at 68 in season ten, and the twins are tied at 23 kills in season nine
Tex's attack to free Alpha was 2 years before Blood Gulch, the great war ended 1 year after Alpha arrived in Blood Gulch and after the Wyoming incident in Blood Gulch (where they tried to kidnap junior), Chorus takes place 5 years after Alpha initially arrived in Blood Gulch
The mission books has adorable illustrations (they look like Caboose's guides from s14)
There's a mindmap for all the Leonard and Allison iterations and they they connect
Sarge has a guide on how to build a robot, scented lube is preferred, along with mad scientist goggles, a cup of baking soda, and seventeen tablespoons of sugar
More silly plans with fun diagrams
Donut's diary, D tells us that Donut washes his underwear on tuesday's
Caboose's Wisdom section on: feelings, relationships, army etiquette (including gems like crayons don't work as bullets. Use markers.), life, and the reds and blues
Simmons made a text based adventure games
BTS from D, the story of Simmons refusing to go to the Vegas Quadrant is a reference to Gus Sorola (Simmons' VA) refusing to go to Las Vegas with the rest of the rvb creators
You can find the case against Sergeant Grif from the reds at rat's Nest (he was selling red team's ammo to Caboose before he was locked up in the brig, Private Jones wore a wire tap to help the red's catch Grif's under the table dealings)
Leonard met Allison in the mess hall during basic training where he pissed off another recruit and Allison had to save his ass (Church was right, Carolina get's her temper from her mom)
I'm Church. private Church. Leonard. Leonard Church." the only thing I cared about in that moment was that she knew my name. She smiled. Her smile could light up solar systems. "Kind of a funny name. Church." "It's Jewish."
I spent the rest of basic chasing after her. In some ways, I never stopped.
Here's hoping non of our beloved idiots die in season 19! I mean, I know Church will be gone, but the others... they deserve a happy ending.
Also I miss the freelancers and AI...

what just happened!!!!!!!! s19 rambles (negative) ↓
going to be messy cos im just planning on writing whatever outrageous moments stand out as i go along
first of all????? DOC FUCKING DIED?????????? i literally had to rewatch a few times to realise that’s what they were saying 😟 when the fuck did he die bc doc eas Inside the staff of charon and wash was fuckijg idk?? on the surface of chorus right?? how did doc die saving him what (genuinely someone smarter than me if you’ve figured it out please tell me) bc like the point of the charon fight is that they were stuck in the mementos room right? idk
anyway he was done so dirty i literally do not think there was a reason to reveal doc was dead in the last five minutes
on that note, where was donut?? did he die too ? how long after chorus is s19 set like was that undisclosed location iris or what. did he do his whole ‘tour of the universe’ thing early? like i would’ve been fine with even just a passing comment but they were so vague with it
WHY DID SARGE DIE AND THEN PROMPTLY BECOME IRRELEVANT????? aside from simmons grif & caboose not a Soul mentioned the fact that a whole man was dead. i was so convinced that there would be some big funeral with everyone attending at the end
i did sort of like the plot though, simmons getting a leadership role was kinda fun
tbh i did like simmons this season it was so great seeing him finally get recognition but good grief i cannot talk about simmons without bringing up the ending/lack of grimmons
it makes sense that they wouldn’t get together if grif went home and simmons stayed in the army BUT WHY DID SIMMONS STAY IN THE ARMY?? RICHARD YOU DO NOT HAVE A FUCKING TEAM ANYMORE (on that note. where did lopez go. i’m only just realising that he literally vanished) i’m so insane why did they do that. they could’ve gone home together. and kissed about it idk
i mean i didn’t actually expect grimmons to happen but i thought they’d stay together?? it’s always been them. like that’s the whole point of their characters. every other person who’s been on their team before has died and left them (grif sleeping through being glassed, hammer dying during basic, the red team at rat’s nest and now sarge and donut i guess?????) why did they not stay together
also on the grif family note, the kai cameo was nice (though i will say i do Not understand the point of the whole retro con thing, i feel like it went on for ages, did nothing to set up the plot. the meta could’ve been introduced some other way surely)
also while i’m thinking about it, why did it take tucker/the meta months to get from chorus to a point where he was actively searching for epsilon ?
anyway sorry kai cameo fun but she should’ve had a bigger role idc
it kind of feels like they suddenly realised almost all their female characters were overlooked and they tried to shove them in to be like ‘ohhh look we care about our female characters’ and then screwed them over by making them either insignificant or nothing more than a cameo
with the exception of tex maybe. i fully did not expect her to come back prior to watching but when caboose was like oh help me remember i started to get a feeling it wouldn’t be church. i’m also so glad they addressed the whole ‘created from failure/destined to fail’ thing, tex fuckijg deserved that win. sad that she died though (i wasn’t expecting that either and was like fully geared up to start making post restoration fanart of carolina and tex hanging out and learning how to be friends/family again)
idk i just feel like we missed out on so much stuff due to time constraints, there were so many scenes that should’ve been put in imo like carolina and tex having some sort of moment together, grif and kai having a moment, carolina & wash seeing 479er again
ok wait different chain of thought. everyone was like really eager to kill tucker. there was no moral dilemma of everyone being like ohh beneath the meta hes our friend we can’t hurt him but we still need to take him down what’re we gonna doo. although on second thought it was red team so . yeah the mindless attacking does make sense a bit
new thought again overall it just felt weird like everyone had their assigned pairings and couldn’t acknowledge anyone outside of them?? like during the fights there wasn’t much of a reunion when tex/carolina joined and then wash (and apparently not fucking doc) like idk. i was under the assumption thatvthere would be a sweet little scene where they got the gang back together
whatever man that’s everything off the top of my head. i had no expectations going in and still somehow left disappointed. i Will be making an au version that fits all the things i wanted to see

🍍 - What is an event that seemed of minor consequence to them when it occurred, but ended up impacting their life/development in a bigger way?
Betraying John Clemens and leaving the Arklay Lab.
Ada before that point had just started being an independent and freelance espionage agent since forcibly removing herself from USA clandestine programs, and had cemented her survival in infiltrating gangs, climbing ranks, stealing assets, selling out, and moving on to the next. She started to accumulate a reputation in black markets as someone who was willing to do anything to complete a mission, and that even if she did not turn over her product, the competition would still be destroyed.
She attracted Derek Simmons in that manner, who had taken an interest in her detached manner, ruthlessness, and personal intelligence after she had completed many missions on his behalf to destroy rivals and competition for his ambitions within the US Government.
Eventually, Simmons became an influential politician, privy to the meetings between Umbrella and the US Military, and became aware of the G-Virus project. Ada was then contracted and given credentials to pass as a researcher to be transferred into the Arklay Lab facility, since the Chief Researcher there, William Birkin, had been relocated to Raccoon City, and replaced by John Clemens.
While Ada was at the lab, she was tasked with finding any relevant information about the T-virus, with the ultimate goal of securing a sample of the G-virus for Simmons. To this end, Ada seduced and entered into a relationship with John. John confided in Ada a lot of different pieces of information regarding the inner politics of the researchers, the company, and his own personal feelings regarding the bioweapons research.
To her surprise, he hated the way Umbrella was illegally testing the viruses, and didn't like the thought of these things being used on people. Ada hadn't met anyone that had ever given thought about common people before, and it was an odd trait that she readily exploited, feeding most of the information to Simmons, but keeping some for herself.
Spending the time with John and his earnest affections started to make her reevaluate the way that Simmons treated her, and the comparisons made her feel more uneasy and distant with Simmons with his calls, but she didn't know how to feel about John either. When she finally found out that the G-virus was being held at NEST in Raccoon City, she was unceremoniously reassigned to head to the city and meet with a contact that was also investigating Umbrella's activities in NEST.
So, Ada was already in the process of leaving Arklay Lab when it became infected, and escaped. She avoided zombies and USS dispatched to kill the infected, and understood that no matter the outcome, John was dead. She was never aware that he had already turned, and that he had left her a letter asking her to destroy the facility and expose Umbrella to the world.
Simmons congratulated her, and credited her with the defunction of the Arklay Lab, something that wasn't true, but that she also didn't deny. She went into Raccoon City with already conflicted thoughts, and feelings she didn't understand until much later, but that ended up being the most significant thing that happened to her in hindsight. It left her more ready to question how her actions effected common people when she saw it firsthand, having to escape.

After Raccoon
A Canon divergent/sequel/au? Where the missile that destroyed the city was aimed just a little bit to the left. On purpose.
Maybe the Simmons family illuminati stuff comes into play where the direct coordinates are fudged a bit in the final order. So that Umbrella can continue its expirements in secret. Or maybe the government did it in order to use the now quarantined city as a testing ground. Developing their own bows or cures for them? Maybe later on the various organizations like the bsaa and blue umbrella send training squads there. A slightly better version of operation raccoon city, narratively speaking.
Following the Outbreak characters through the initial events? Seeing some of them we left behind? Solving a couple mysteries like what happened to x character after.
It feels very Dying Light where the city is in shambles and cut off from the rest of the world. And maybe later on or in between we can explore the rest of Arklay county, mountains, and raccoon forest. Maybe a Max Brooks style series of chain events/encounters that lead up to and after the end. Short stories about the first hikers to dissappear, the expirements done on them. Anthology about the mysterious cannibal murders and rabid animal attacks.
And then the aftermath. A scavenger city built on the ruins surrounding the smoldering crater. The teams sent in and the survivors trying to get out. Maybe air drops of potential 'cures' or new viruses. Tyrants forming, some of them half sentient or out of control.
A survivor trying to escape the city, then the county, then the mountains and forest. Grabbing weapons and building cars, exploring abandoned or still running umbrella facilities. Only to get nabbed in the end by umbrella/the government they've been dodging for so long.
I feel like there's a lot of potential in exploring what happens after the bomb. How the country outside is handling this open sore in the Midwest. Are there protests and riots and people breaking in without knowing about the undead hordes on the other side?
Do lickers climb the battlements of the walls at night, only to get beaten back by flamethrowers and turrets? How are the people who control the border trained, and what are they not allowed to know? Is there some elite special forces black ops type squad making sure nothing escapes?
Little survivor communities huddled around trash fires, trading company scripts for rations and bullets. Posting little messages to their internal network that's cutoff from the outside internet. Videos of adrenaline junkies smashing zombie heads for twitch streams. That feels sort of Dead Island 2, or a little Dead Rising. How would Frank West handle a t virus outbreak?
And of course, Hunk. The grim reaper. Maybe his new squad is going around doing clean up, trying to get cities back online, eradicating nests. Killing whatever mad scientists or their expirements are left in underground labs. How do they handle survivor groups begging for help? How calloused do you have to be about human lives and casualties? How do you handle a Tyrant that's sometimes just a young woman who can still cry and talk, but sometimes loses her mind and eats people?
I feel like there's a lot of potential for stories to tell in the aftermath. Yeah

I don't know why I'm thinking about it, but here are some rambling thoughts I have for Grif and Simmons' surgery-
While Sarge was indeed reluctant to give cool cyborg parts to the lazy soldier, the real issue was; Grif's body had been so crushed and damaged, it needed new organic tissue, there just wasn't time for his body to accept the various cyborg implants, it all would have been rejected. Simmons was a match for him, so he agreed for a "swap", and because Simmons' body wasn't in shock, it was easier for him to become a cyborg. This was especially important in terms of the organs; Grif's body was in too much turmoil for synthetic ones.
Because of different body-types and mass, Simmons had to give up a little extra skin here and there (so although the locations are the same, he has a little more "metal" than it looks like Grif has skin-grafts. Grif's limbs are thicker, so Simmons gave donated more from the shoulder and chest area, and from the waist down for one leg. Simmons also has metallic bits around his eye, down one side of his face, and on that part of the jaw, while Grif mostly has the skin-grafts around his eye and cheek).
A lot of the cyborg parts are experimental junk Sarge had been tinkering with, and spare robot parts for Lopez (which were actually meant as optional bodies for the Alpha AI, so some of them are highly advanced), but Sarge actually had some legit prosthetic organs "just in case" (he was definitely preparing to use these for himself if he ever had to perform surgery on himself). When he talks about using car parts and stuff to fix Simmons up, he's exaggerating to mess with everybody. Even Simmons isn't sure how much of this is true... what if his new heart really DOES have stuff from their coffee maker in it!?
It took a long time for Grif's body to bounce-back, at least in terms of how it all looked. His surgery areas were pale and withered for a while... but by the time they got to Rat's Nest, he had gained back enough weight for his limbs to even-out, and his own melanin was more "absorbed" (still a shade lighter than his natural skin). His own hair grows back in, even in the skin-graft spots. He technically only has the "inner" part of Simmons' eye (Grif is too afraid to ask Sarge what the heck this means), and so the colors of his eyes still match (dark brown/almost black). Simmons naturally got a glowing red cyborg eye, because how could Sarge NOT do that. Way down the road, Grif realizes he's had these mis-matched skin-grafts for half his life, and not only is he used to it, he kind of just... feels like this is "him". Like, if he imagines himself, this is what he sees, and it is sort of... OK.
Bonus Simmons thoughts; he is indeed trans, but he had his own bottom surgery done before he ever joined the military, and never had any top surgery (he had always been flat-chested. he used to still stress about it, over-binding to an unhealthy degree... but after the whole cyborg surgery thing, it weirdly helped him relax about his own body a bit more. he's still anxious about other people SEEING his body, but that's gonna take more time to work through). Sarge is aware he's trans, and just accepts it without any fuss/never brings it up (which Simmons found to be a HUGE relief. it is actually a big sore spot for him to even let people know, to the point he denies being trans in his own head. family problems, dad force-feeding him internalized misogyny, and all kids of other gender/sexuality/body issues have become so ingrained, Simmons just can't imagine TALKING about any of this)
