The Able Sister’s Story (part 3):

This is the last part in the Tragic Backstory of the Able Sisters. I’ve talked about Mabel and Label and how the sister’s parents died when they were quite young, leaving Sable to raise the other two as a young teenager.

Before her parents died, Sable had a good life. She had loving parents as well as two younger siblings. She also had a best friend, Tom Nook. Tom Nook and Sable spent so much time together. They even created a time capsule together with letters saying what their dreams are (Sable’s was to open a pretty shop, aww).

Unfortunately, as we know, Sable didn’t get to keep that carefree youth for long. Her parents died, leaving her to raise Mabel alone. We don’t know if he left before or after the Able parents died, but Tom Nook went to the city to pursue his dream. He and Sable tried to stay connected by sending each other letters. He even sent her a birthday present after she had forgotten her own birthday! But Sable had to work almost constantly to support her and Mabel, and Tom Nook had difficulties of his own, so they slowly stopped sending them.

Sable and Mabel kept trucking along and got to the point that you can see in the games. They still have to work hard, but they are not stuck in the hole that Sable felt trapped in anymore.
