"Nashville" trip log day 3
I didn't mention it yesterday, but we had three people get sick and throw up at some point yesterday. Today, that progressed to about 10 out of the 36 students we had, and also our bus driver. So we delayed going to Pigeon Forge by about 4 hours, which meant we missed our only other performance. We also quarantined into two different busses which meant no chargers, which meant my phone was dead by the time we got there. The Island was cool tho, the Black Widow thing was great.

The Island, Pigeon Forge
The Island at Pigeon Forge is a vibrant entertainment complex with activities, shopping and restaurants. Located on Parkway, the main thoroughfare, our family was ready to end our day watching the sunset and exploring the Island. The girls were excited for the shopping, the guys were hungry for the restaurants and Nolan couldn’t wait to ride the Ferris wheel. To work up an appetite, we…

Howdy!
(I am Taiga Aisaka irl lol)
I finally decided to make an intro on this account because it’s inconsistent as hell even though it’s my main one.
But yeah hello!
I’m Mallory (people call me Mal a lot) I’m a goofy ahh autistic 22 year old
She/Her are my preferred pronouns, but I’m okay with They/Them as well if it’s easier for you to use.
I’m biromantic/asexual
I’m not in college but I’ve been working for a year and a half now! It takes up half of my time but I’m still free decently often.
I like to draw, write, make OCs and self inserts, play video games, sing and listen to music. I sometimes post my art and characters occasionally but not often on here. (I should tho)
This is my main tumblr where I used to post strictly Finding Nemo related posts but my fixation had faded out since 2021 (I still love the movie and it’s sequel but it hasn’t been my main interest anymore)
Here are my other tumblrs if they’re interesting enough to take a look at.
Second tumblr: @rxin3srandomthoughts
Meme tumblr: @rxin3smemes
Aesthetic tumblr (kinda defunct now): @rxin3saesthetics
Stim tumblr (the one I use most often besides my main): @rxin3stims
I have a large DNI list on my stim tumblr, but I’ll put a general one here too. It’s also in my bio:
DNI if:
A nsfw/k!nk blog
Racist
Homophobic
Transphobic
Ablelist
And a personal one, if you romanticize serial k!ll3rs or sh00t3rs. Big on the latter because of personal trauma and because that monster has been romanticized here before and on other platforms on the internet and I find it not only disturbing and horrifying but also disrespectful to the victims, their families, and the survivors.
If you fit under any of this criteria, you will immediately be blocked.
A lot of my content is OC related, so here is a list of ‘em!!

The 2016 Great Smoky Mountains wildfires claimed at least 14 lives, and injured 190 people. The fires impacted the towns of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, both near Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The fires are considered one of the largest natural disasters in Tennessee history.
The 2018 California wildfires had a total of 103 confirmed fatalities. The Camp Fire, which occurred in Paradise, California, killed 85 people and destroyed more than 18,000 buildings. The Camp Fire was the costliest disaster worldwide in 2018. It was also the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California's history.
The Australian bushfires of 2019-2020 directly killed 33 people and over one billion native animals. The fires also caused 417 human deaths due to smoke inhalation. The fires burned in six states across six months, affecting 80% of the Australian population.
In 2020, 33 people died in California wildfires that burned 4.2 million acres, a state record. This was the third deadliest year for California wildfires since 2013.
Amid the bleakness of 2020, scientists in Brazil concluded a particularly grim conservation study - attempting to count the animals killed by huge wildfires in the Pantanal wetlands. They estimate that as many as 17 million vertebrates - including reptiles, birds and primates - died. Wildfires burned between January and November, destroying 30% of the world's largest tropical wetland.
Five people have died from wildfires in Canada in 2023. The wildfires have scorched at least 11 million hectares, or over 27.1 million acres, of land across Canada this year.
Meanwhile, in Maui, wildfires started on August 8th, 2023 (Now August 15th, 2023).
The death toll from the wildfires on the Hawaiian island of Maui is at least 101 people. The wildfires destroyed the historic town of Lahaina and killed at least 99 people, making it the worst natural disaster in state history and the deadliest U.S. wildfire in over a century. Officials warn that the death toll is likely to rise. Many people remain missing.
None of this is okay, and I'm not trying to compare trauma, but the fact that this disaster is happening right now and I have seen a total of 2 posts about it on my dash is disheartening, to say the least.
P.S. Spread the word. Do not ignore Maui.

I was down in pigeon forge Tennessee recently so I want to talk about my thoughts on accessibility at some of the things I went to.
Dollywood - first of all, the park is absolutely gorgeous, like so pretty and also very well shaded, I rented on of the electric carts they have there as I can’t walk much without pain, and getting the cart was extremely easy, although relatively expensive (55$ if I remember right), they had a spot where a parent/guardian could sign, so I assume those under the age of 18 can rent one, but that wasn’t an issue for me, the cart seats are wide with armrests and so most can fit comfortably. It was a slight walk from the parking lot to where they had the carts, but you do get the cart before entering the park.
After getting into the park you can go to their accessibility service and the will tell you what rides are safe if you have a prosthetic limb, heart condition, or seizures, they also give you a card if your using a wheelchair that you use to access the accessible entrances, I didn’t get to ride anything because we had some difficulty’s and had to go home early, so I don’t know how accessible the rides are.
Because it’s in the mountains, it is very hilly with many steep hills, especially compared to any of the Disney parks, the cart I rented did fine, however my mom’s cart that she owns struggled and stoped working until we hit the reset button (which is why we couldn’t stay, bc my little brother had a meltdown bc of it) anyways, i imagine it’s difficult to walk with all the hills and would be difficult to push your own wheelchair as well. There also was not a very large amount of benches which made it difficult for my little brother.
A lot of the food there wasn’t very friendly to those that have a very limited diet, and none of the restaurants I saw were very wheelchair accessible, having stairs but no ramp, or not enough space to navigate.
All in all for Dollywood, I probably would chose Disney over it, there’s less hills, it’s easier to navigate, (which was another issue we had) and more food options for people like my little brother who will only eat a few different foods.
I also went to two dinner shows while down there, (Dolly Parton’s stampede show and the hatfield and McCoy show) and both were about the same in regards to accessibility, with wheelchair accessible seats at both but we had to stand in line much longer for the Hatfield and McCoy show. They also had pretty much the same food options.
We also spent time at a tourist center/area called the island, the parking for it was not great, and even the handicap parking was at least a block away, so my mom had to drop everyone off before parking. It also lacked seating in shaded areas, but there was a lot of seating in general.
Overall, most of the stuff was pretty accessible for my family, however they might not be for others. Also, this obviously isn’t a sponsered post or something, I have like ten followers, I’m just trying to help everyone be more aware of accessibility in different places.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee
Our first trip of 24, was to Tennessee - Gatlinburg. We had heard lots about Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, but our intention wasn't really to visit the park, but rather explore the area a bit.
We had a cool airbnb, just outside of Gatlinburg in a quiet wooded neighbourhood, in Sieverville, not close enough to walk anywhere, but a short 5 min drive to the nearest restaurant.
On the evening we arrived, we were a little surprised to find the main road more commercialised than we had expected. On the way in, from Sieverville to Pigeon Forge, each side of the road was crammed with touristy entertainment venues - crazy gold, amusement centres, hollywood themed complexes and tons of eateries. Gatlinburg itself, wasn't much different, apart from the road being narrower and more of a town feel than just a highway sandwiched between crazy commercial attractions.
Our first day, found us visiting the island - a large area given over to a constructed market street, big wheel, restaurants, a few entertainment venues and of course a couple of amusement arcades. The temperature had started to drop and the forecast was of snow. We meandered around, found a coffee shop and just enjoyed the atmosphere.
The following day, we headed into Gatlinburg itself and visited the skypark/ bridge. This consisted of a short ride up a mountain in a chairlift, followed by a walk across a swing suspension bridge and some pretty views. Initially, this was closed due to strong winds, but after we'd stopped for a coffee and then returned it was running again.
As the weather was predicted to worsen, we took advantage of the blue sky and drove to Cades Cove. This was a beautiful area- a country drive which gave brilliant views of the Smoky Mountains and allowed us to soak up an old isolated valley where settlers first farmed the land before it became a national park.
The next day, unfortunately the weather had changed. We had another wander around the Island, went and did a bit of shopping at Walmart and drove to Sieverville town centre to see the homeplace of Dolly Parton and to view the statue of her as a young lady. Sieverville didn't really grab us, but it was raining and it was deserted. There is very little to see in the town centre, other than a short row of shops and of course the statue itself. We never made it to Dollywood, which I'm sure is far more fun and worthy of a visit than the town centre. However, it was interesting to imagine Dolly herself growing up here.
On waking up on our last day, we found a covered town. Everything was closed and the roads were covered in snow. The forecast warned of a winter storm and advised no travel. However, we knew we had to get home and so began a rather treacherous journey back. There was no sign of gritters or snow ploughs. In fact here was no sign of anyone or any vehicles to begin with. Slowly, we made our way on untreated roads. Whilst it wasn't deep, the fact that no one had been on the roads made it feel very precarious. It wasn't until we crossed into NC, that the roads were cleared of snow. An interesting experience...not really wanting to repeat, but just glad to get home safely

Gin- winds up as the protector of an island full of mines. The islanders mine and work on a very rare and precious metal that can be used to make powerful metals. He uses that metal to make new Tonfa’s and learns how to forge weapons over the two years.
Rosé- she finds a retired man, depressed at what the government calls Justice and puts a spark of life back into him. Together they decide that the world needs to know the truth and it needs to change. They create a massive spy network and Rosé takes the lead as Miss Muffet, casting her wide web across the world. Kuzan joins under the code name Pigeon and trains her.
Crossette- Since Rayleigh takes Luffy, she decides to train under the Pirate Empress. Boa makes her fight and defeat every member of the Kuja, until she can come close to beating Boa in a fight. She befriends Margurite, Sweetpea, and Aphlandra. Together the four of them continue to train, sacrificing food and sleep in their dedication. And then Granny Nyon rats her out to Luffy and they have to readjust their training schedule to have a better balance.
And a bonus!
Killian- he stays in Fishman Island, spending his two years trying to capture Hody and Van Decken. (Shirahoshi is like his baby sister, he fucking hates that creep with the same intensity he hates celestial dragons). But… the years aren’t kind to him. His cousin has joined Hody and wants Killian dead to take his devil fruit. Killian loses the Vanessa and his older sister Diane. He spends the last seven months before the Straw Hats return laying around in a depressed haze.

I want to start off by talking about our own personal experiences. Back in March of 2022, we stayed at the Margaritaville Island Inn. We booked the stay through Hotels.com but really didn’t know that we had just put ourselves at a location that would be within walking distance of attractions. We had never heard of the Margaritaville Resorts, so we basically stumbled onto this experience. We just knew that this location was close to a few attractions that we were interested in seeing, nothing was really planned out for the vacation. On a side note, we had such a great experience we had to return as a family for our daughter to have these experiences as well. The second trip was in August 2023 and this was just as amazing, but more to come on that in another blog.
