[ID: drawings of a golem animated by a palestinian flag painted on its forehead. it is seen: holding out its arms protectively in front of a crowd of children, the children also hold each other supportively; catching an air strike missile from the air and throwing it away or crushing it in its fist; turning its back so that a child can warm her hands by the earth oven built into its back, food in a pot is cooking on the fire and a boy holds a cup of steaming tea to his face and enjoys the aroma; clearing away rubble so a man can help up his wife who was buried underneath, she is clutching a baby to her chest; stooping down to look at a kitten a young boy is holding up to show it; and dissolving small flakes of clay from its finger into a glass of water, purifying it. end ID]
@fairuzfan asked people to create and share art for the strike. i wrote an artist statement and then set about trying to draw what i envisioned. artist statement below.
This golem is a protector that I wish I could gift to the children and adults in Gaza. The flag on its forehead is to show that love for the Palestinian people is an animating force for people fighting for a free Palestine all over the world, especially for those in Palestine who are trying to free themselves and their people. Love is the motivation for the call for a free Palestine, not hatred like people try to claim. It is very strong and fast and can catch air strikes out of midair and crush them to dust or throw them back in the direction they came from. It can lift all the rubble of a collapsed building very quickly so nobody can get trapped underneath. It has an earth oven in its back with an ever-burning flame that people can use to warm themselves and cook food and heat water to use to bathe themselves or make tea. Pieces of its clay can be crumbled up and mixed into water to make even the most brackish and unclean water pure and safe to drink.
The golem is always a bit of a tragic figure so I don't imagine it staying around forever once Palestine is free and it is no longer needed. I think it would use its great strength to help rebuild the destroyed houses, churches, schools, universities, hospitals, and mosques and then dive into the Jordan river and dissolve. It would clean the river of all pollution and make the water splash up over all the newly replanted fruit trees, causing them to grow big and strong. Its love for Palestine and its people can be tasted in the fruit they grow for generations.
I choose a specifically Jewish icon of protection because of how it feels to witness such horrors done in the supposed name of Judaism and the Jewish people. For many anti-zionist Jews, we feel like we are acting directly within the teachings of our stories and communities by opposing this genocide. It is difficult to understand how the very people and institutions who taught us these values now fight against them so fiercely. While obviously I would still oppose Israel were I not Jewish, the way I oppose Israel is directly informed by my Jewishness. I hope that someday, somehow, Judaism can bring as much joy and support to the Palestinian people as it has brought grief and destruction. That Jewish symbols used in the name of love and justice will bear more significance than the ones used in shows of hatred. Knowing the depth of the harm caused, I do not know if this is possible. But this artwork and everything I have dedicated myself to these past few months and continue to dedicate myself to in the future is born from this hope. I love you. Thank you for being on this planet with me. From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free! And it will be beautiful.

The Hypocrisy of Fake Love for Black Revolutionaries: A Garveyite Perspective on the Betrayal of Our Icons, Leaders, and Ancestors
From a Garveyite perspective, one of the most dangerous betrayals in the Black community is the false admiration for Black revolutionaries, icons, and ancestors. Many Black people praise these figures publicly but refuse to embody their teachings, sacrifice for the movement, or apply their wisdom in daily life.
Marcus Garvey himself experienced this hypocrisy: he was celebrated by millions but was ultimately betrayed by his own people, leading to his persecution, imprisonment, and the destruction of the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA).
This false love for Black revolutionaries is a form of empty hero worship—where Black people:
Wear the names of Black leaders on their clothes but refuse to carry their ideologies in their hearts.
Quote Malcolm X, Assata Shakur, and Garvey but live according to white capitalist values.
Praise the ancestors but continue the same behaviours that kept Black people in chains.
This analysis will explore:
How Black revolutionaries are romanticized but ignored in practice.
The betrayal of Black leaders in their own lifetimes.
How the system benefits from keeping Black leaders as symbols rather than applying their teachings.
The failures of modern Black movements to truly follow Garveyite principles.
How we must break the cycle and truly honour our icons with action, not just words.
1. The Romanticization of Black Leaders While Ignoring Their Teachings
Many Black revolutionaries are treated like celebrities rather than serious leaders.
A. Turning Black Leaders into Symbols Instead of Following Their Actions
People wear Malcolm X shirts but still believe in integration and white validation.
They post Garvey quotes online but refuse to build Black-owned businesses or invest in Pan-African economic power.
They celebrate Dr. King but ignore his late-stage radicalism against capitalism and imperialism.
Example: Malcolm X rejected integration and white liberals, yet today, many of the people who claim to admire him fight for assimilation into white institutions instead of Black independence.
B. The Empty Worship of Black Ancestors Without Change in Behavior
Many Black people claim to honor the ancestors, but still:
Use their resources to enrich non-Black communities.
Reject African traditions and spirituality in favour of white religions.
Teach their children Eurocentric values instead of Pan-African principles.
Example: The same Black people who praise Queen Nzinga and Shaka Zulu will still vote for anti-Black politicians, neglect Black-owned businesses, and refuse to defend their own communities.
Key Takeaway: Garveyism teaches that honouring our icons means CONTINUING their work—not just admiring them from a distance.
2. The Betrayal of Black Revolutionaries in Their Own Lifetimes
Throughout history, many of the same Black leaders we celebrate today were rejected, attacked, or betrayed by their own people when they were alive.
A. How Marcus Garvey Was Betrayed
Garvey built the largest Black movement in history, but many of his own people helped destroy him.
W.E.B. Du Bois and the NAACP opposed him and worked with the U.S. government to undermine the UNIA.
Many Black elites and integrationists mocked his call for African self-rule and repatriation.
Example: When Garvey was arrested on fraudulent charges, some Black leaders celebrated his downfall, showing their loyalty to white power structures over Black independence.
B. Malcolm X and the Nation of Islam Betrayal
Malcolm X risked his life for Black people, but when he started exposing the weaknesses of the Nation of Islam, he was abandoned and ultimately assassinated.
Many of his former supporters refused to stand with him when he needed protection the most.
Example: After Malcolm X was killed, Black people mourned him—but where were those same people when he was alive and fighting alone?
Key Takeaway: Too many Black people only recognize greatness AFTER a leader has died—but real support means standing with them while they are alive and fighting.
3. The System Benefits from Keeping Black Leaders as Symbols, Not Teachers
The white power structure wants Black leaders to be icons, not active ideologies. They understand that:
A dead revolutionary is harmless; a living one is dangerous.
A Garvey shirt is acceptable; a Garveyite movement is not.
Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech is promoted; his speeches about fighting capitalism and imperialism are ignored.
Example: The U.S. watered down Dr. King’s radicalism and now uses him as a symbol of “peace” rather than a fighter against white supremacy and economic exploitation.
Key Takeaway: The system promotes a version of Black history that is safe and non-threatening—true Garveyites must reject this watered-down history and embrace the full revolutionary teachings of our leaders.
4. The Failure of Modern Black Movements to Apply Garveyite Principles
Many modern Black movements:
Focus more on representation in white spaces rather than building independent Black power.
Seek validation from white liberals rather than unifying with Africa and the global Black world.
Celebrate Black icons without practicing self-reliance, cooperative economics, or Pan-Africanism.
Example: Some modern Black activists claim to admire Garvey but spend more time appealing to white-owned corporations for funding than building their own economic power structures.
Key Takeaway: Black liberation can not come through white money, white validation, or white institutions. Garveyism teaches that true power comes from self-reliance and unity among Black people worldwide.
5. How We Must Break the Cycle: Honouring Black Icons Through Action
To TRULY honor our ancestors and revolutionaries, we must:
Practice Pan-Africanism – Work with Black people globally, not just within colonial borders.
Build and support Black-owned businesses – Keep wealth circulating within Black communities.
Teach Black children about REAL Black history – Not the whitewashed version.
Protect Black revolutionaries while they are alive – Not just mourn them after they die.
Reject the trap of white validation – Stop seeking approval from the same system that destroyed our leaders.
Final Takeaway: Garvey warned us: Black people must stop being spectators in their own liberation. If you love our leaders, SHOW IT by continuing their work—not just praising their names.
Conclusion: Time to Put Respect in Action, Not Just Words
If Black people TRULY loved Garvey, Malcolm X, Assata Shakur, and our ancestors:
We wouldn’t be begging for acceptance from white society.
We wouldn’t be spending trillions on white businesses while Black communities remain poor.
We wouldn’t be waiting for white governments to save us instead of uniting with Africa.
True love for Black revolutionaries means:
Practising their teachings.
Building the systems they fought for.
Sacrificing for the future of Black liberation.
As Garvey said:
"We must canonize our own saints, create our own heroes, and elevate our own history."
Words are not enough. The time for REAL action is NOW.

We write this call from our student movement in the Gaza Strip, from the heart of occupied Palestine, from under the brutal Zionist bombing, explosions, and the clutches of the monstrous nightmare of death that lurks around us in every corner, house, and street.
We raise it from prison cells, from beneath the destruction, and from inside the rubble, to send it to our fellow students, our comrades, brothers and sisters, in all the universities, schools and institutes of the world everywhere, & we address the global student movement… that was launched in order to stop the genocidal war that is being engineered and financed by the governments of the United States, Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia and others… this courageous student movement that was born in the universities as an integral part of our struggle, that expresses the conscience of students and peoples who yearn for justice and freedom.
We in the Gaza Strip look at you with pride and honour, as you are a revolutionary fighting vanguard, and a natural and integral part of our Palestinian liberation movement. You have come in a resounding, honest and clear response against the Israeli massacres and those who finance them, confronting the companies of the Zionist war of genocide and ethnic cleansing that have claimed the lives of thousands of Palestinian students of all ages… including hundreds of struggling Palestinian student cadres, wounded and imprisoned, in addition to our great loss in the martyrdom of our professors and teachers, and the destruction of our universities, institutes and schools.
Today, we call on you, from the midst of massacres and siege, to a new revolutionary phase of comprehensive escalation. We call on you to raise the pace and ceiling of your struggle and your honorable stances, quantitatively and qualitatively, against the institutions, corporations, and governments that participate in the slaughter of our children, our students, and our people.. In Rafah, Jabalia, Khan Younis, and the entire Gaza Strip, and against the settler gangs, armies of Zionist killers, that commit their crimes in camps, cities and villages in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem. We call on you to besiege the White House in Washington, and to surround Western colonial governments and Zionist embassies, and the corporations that finance the Zionist entity and arm its criminal army with all kinds of bombs and means of death and destruction. These criminal colonial symbols represent the forces that support “Israel” to kill us – with your tax money and the money spent at complicit corporations, to destroy our homes, our society, and our future.
Therefore, we call on you to blockade them until the American Zionist aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip stops. At the same time, we renew our call to the teaching, academic, and union bodies in universities, as well as cultural, academic, and scientific figures, to advocate for and support student movements until they achieve their goals. Today we turn to high school students all over the world to participate widely in the struggles and activities of the university student movement, organizing demonstrations, and organizing educational days about the Palestinian struggle for liberation and return.
Secondary schools constitute a strong fortress and a great support for university students everywhere. Once again, we send special greetings to our brothers and sisters, the students of Palestine in the diaspora.
We greet our comrades and colleagues in Students for Justice in Palestine, the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, Palestine Action, and the academic boycott and divestment campaigns, and we salute everyone who participated and participates in student encampments. The duty and responsibility of Palestinian students in the Gaza Strip and all of occupied Palestine is steadfastness, commitment, resistance, unity, and alignment with the resistance and the people… …until the U.S. – Zionist aggression stops and the occupation is defeated and removed from our land — all our land, from the river to the sea.
Long live the struggle of Palestine’s students for return and liberation.
Long live international solidarity. And together we will be victorious!

The 'Aziraphale Still Believes in Heaven' Take
Is one that I see so often. Too often. The way many fans (still) say Aziraphale is so naïve, he's never learned anything, he never changes, Metatron just offered him a promotion and he happily jumped on it. Happy to go back to Heaven. Still in their clutches. Leaving Crowley behind. Cos nothing lasts forever. Amirite? Poor long-suffering Crowley. So patient. Goes through so much. Aww. Takes that say that because Crowley never told Aziraphale about the venom in Gabriel's "Shut your stupid mouth and die already", Aziraphale has no idea that Heaven is not the good guys, that he still believes they are on the side of truth and light.
Takes that claim Aziraphale wants Crowley to come to Heaven and be an angel again so they can be happy like in the good old times. Takes that basically say that Aziraphale is stupid. And blind. LISTEN Do you mean this Aziraphale:
Who knew before Crowley did that something is rotten in the state of Denmark, that things are wrong and one can get in a lot of trouble for a thing as minor as a suggestion to improve things. Is this the Aziraphale that would seriously suggest to Crowley, who he was immediately deeply anxious over, to go back to 'good old times'? What good old times? How is Heaven a place of light when:
A bunch of angels comes down to Earth to bully and PUNCH ONE OF THEIR OWN?
Why would he think they are the light when they shame him for being who he is?
And yes, Aziraphale wants to do good. But that's not tied to him being an angel. And it's not a bad thing ffs! Crowley does good as well. Aziraphale might be the only one who knows, but he knows. Maybe getting humans out of the Garden to seek knowledge was always a (certainty) possibility, and maybe not, but it was Aziraphale's decision to arm them.
And She didn't make him Fall for it. And do you remember when:
Aziraphale first openly questioned that Heaven was actually doing what God actually wanted? He had a think after the Flood, didn't he. He did what he thought was right. He trusted Crowley over his fellow angels, with his own sense of rightness. He and Crowley saved the kids that Aziraphale triple checked the Archangels saw no problem in letting die to make things easier. And She didn't make him Fall for it. In Edinburgh:
Az re-evaluated his assumption that grave-robbing is bad and did a full 180 degree turn when he learned it can be spun another way, trying to save the grave-robbing girl AND the possible future lives of children that could be helped via more learning. And when we come to Metatron and his threats, we don't see the full conversation, but don't we see enough? Aziraphale says that he's not interested. Metatron keeps nagging at him. Pushing the symbolic coffee from Coffee or Death at him. Flattering him with obvious untruths. After all, Aziraphale knows what Heaven thinks of him. He tried to reason with Metatron before. Metatron tells him they know how deep his disobedience lies:
Aziraphale is not a fool. He knows this is an offer of come quietly or we will find a way to destroy you and your demon this time. Aziraphale didn't have to hear Metatron's quip of: "For one prince of Heaven to be cast into the outer darkness makes a good story. For it to happen twice, makes it look like there is some kind of institutional problem." He knows the system is rotten. He knows for a LONG time. Did you see his face when he met Muriel and realised what a lonely sad existence they lead.
AND Crowley doesn't love Aziraphale despite the fact that he's being used to get out of trouble, being made to listen about random things the angel enjoys from symphonies to food and plays, and who continues to believe in goodness and kindness. CROWLEY LOVES AZIRAPAHLE BECAUSE OF THOSE THINGS AND because he sees Aziraphale for what he is, an angel who thinks for himself, changes his mind, angel who is brave, who stands for the right thing, who sacrifices his own happiness for the safety of others, especially the demon he loves. They are the same. They are lonely. They are one of a kind. And they love each other.
Aziraphale wants to stay at home. In the home he built for himself and Crowley. On Earth where he's found so much to love. But he knows it is impossible. As Crowley confesses his love, Aziraphale struggles to stay on his plan. He'll miss Crowley terribly. He wants them to be together. For him, they were an 'us' the whole S2. However tenuously. Fragile existence and all that.
But even this was ripped away from him. And whatever he's planning, he knows he needs to do the first steps on his own. He can't submit Crowley to the torture that being in Heaven is going to be for him, an unwanted, despised angel. He can't make him come. He can only ask him. And Crowley said no.
So he leaves. Furious. And determined. Whether it is to burn the place down or find God and ask Her all the questions to Her face I don't know. But his love will push him through.
And if I see one more simplistic take of the snarky demon is really good isn't he, so that means the stuffy angel is bad (and needs to change to be worthy of the demon) I will curse their dreams with lines about shades of grey. AZIRAPHALE AND CROWLEY ALREADY LOVE EACH OTHER

Bangladeshi student protesters stormed a prison and freed hundreds of inmates Friday as police struggled to quell unrest, with huge rallies in the capital Dhaka despite a police ban on public gatherings.
This week's clashes have killed at least 105 people, according to an AFP count of victims reported by hospitals, and emerged as a momentous challenge to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's autocratic government after 15 years in office.
Student protesters stormed a jail in the central Bangladeshi district of Narsingdi and freed the inmates before setting the facility on fire, a police officer told AFP on condition of anonymity.
"I don't know the number of inmates, but it would be in the hundreds," he added.
Dhaka's police force took the drastic step of banning all public gatherings for the day -- a first since protests began -- in an effort to forestall another day of violence.
"We've banned all rallies, processions and public gatherings in Dhaka today," police chief Habibur Rahman told AFP, adding the move was necessary to ensure "public safety".
That did not stop another round of confrontations between police and protesters around the sprawling megacity of 20 million people, despite an internet shutdown aimed at frustrating the organisation of rallies.
"Our protest will continue," Sarwar Tushar, who joined a march in the capital and sustained minor injuries when it was violently dispersed by police, told AFP.
"We want the immediate resignation of Sheikh Hasina. The government is responsible for the killings."
'Shocking and unacceptable'
At least 52 people were killed in the capital on Friday, according to a list drawn up by the Dhaka Medical College Hospital and seen by AFP.
Police fire was the cause of more than half of the deaths reported so far this week, based on descriptions given to AFP by hospital staff.
UN human rights chief Volker Turk said the attacks on student protesters were "shocking and unacceptable".
"There must be impartial, prompt and exhaustive investigations into these attacks, and those responsible held to account," he said in a statement.
The capital's police force earlier said protesters had on Thursday torched, vandalised and carried out "destructive activities" on numerous police and government offices.
Among them was the Dhaka headquarters of state broadcaster Bangladesh Television, which remains offline after hundreds of incensed students stormed the premises and set fire to a building.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police spokesman Faruk Hossain told AFP that officers had arrested Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, one of the top leaders of the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
"He faces hundreds of cases," Hossain said, without giving further details on the reasons for Ahmed's detention.
'Symbol of a system'
Near-daily marches this month have called for an end to a quota system that reserves more than half of civil service posts for specific groups, including children of veterans from the country's 1971 liberation war against Pakistan.
Critics say the scheme benefits children of pro-government groups that back Hasina, 76, who has ruled the country since 2009 and won her fourth consecutive election in January after a vote without genuine opposition.
Hasina's government is accused by rights groups of misusing state institutions to entrench its hold on power and stamp out dissent, including by the extrajudicial killing of opposition activists.
Her administration this week ordered schools and universities to close indefinitely as police stepped up efforts to bring the deteriorating law and order situation under control.
"This is an eruption of the simmering discontent of a youth population built over years due to economic and political disenfranchisement," Ali Riaz, a politics professor at Illinois State University, told AFP.
"The job quotas became the symbol of a system which is rigged and stacked against them by the regime."
'Nation-scale' internet shutdown
Students say they are determined to press on with protests despite Hasina giving a national address earlier this week on the now-offline state broadcaster seeking to calm the unrest.
Nearly half of Bangladesh's 64 districts reported clashes on Thursday, broadcaster Independent Television reported.
The network said more than 700 people had been wounded throughout Thursday including 104 police officers and 30 journalists.
London-based watchdog NetBlocks said Friday that a "nation-scale" internet shutdown remained in effect a day after it was imposed.
"Metrics show connectivity flatlining at 10% of ordinary levels, raising concerns over public safety as little news flows in or out of the country," it wrote on social media platform X.

Inertia; One

Pairing(s); LADS Caleb x non-mc reader
Word count; 1,616
Themes; angst (like let me tell you what — ), there will be child abuse (this is Ever we're talking about, so you know, child experiments and all that), eventual smut (way later, they're babies right now)
Notes; Hey guys! Decided to soft drop a drabble series today too as well 👀 I thought I might as well post it, yk? Anyway, if you're not up to date on all the lore bits, the og mc was called Unicorn during her time at Gaia (a research institute under Ever) and Josephine's Team was called Unicorn as well. Caleb didn't have a team name from what I remember so I decided to use Hydra for his and Chimera for yours. I think it fits the mythical creature vibes.
Also, the original mc will be named, because I don't like calling her "mc" in stories, okay? Her name will be Lia-hua, which is Chinese for lotus flower (a flower symbolizing reborth), or Lia for short — sorry if your name is Lia.
Since this is a drabble series, these chapters will be pretty short and to the point!

☆ masterlist ☆
Summary; “You can remember your time at the Gaia Research Center like it was yesterday. The anxiety and panic-inducing memories flood through your brain like a glass overflowing with water. You’re not sure you’ll ever get over the trauma inflicted on you by the place. Not even sure if you want to.”
Or
The day your mother willingly gave you up for experimentation at the Gaia Research Center. The story of how you became Donor 001.
...You can still remember the day you met Caleb. It was rather difficult to forget, after all. Being trapped inside that dark and dreary hell that was the Gaia Research Center. You weren't the first child put in these twisted experiments and you definitely weren't the last.
The first would have to go to her…Unicorn. Even though you never met her until later, you would have to be blind as to not notice how much the Unicorns Team doted on her – well, doted is…it's not the correct word per say. You could still hear her screams. Those tortured, agonizing screams that echoed through the halls on her experimentation days. She was the first experiment, Subject 001.
The first of many children that were either kidnapped, adopted, or donated into this life. Into this hell on Earth. And you?
You were Donor 001. Her perfect match in a sense, both firsts of your name. Except you were donated and she was…well, you’re not sure how the researchers got their hands on her, but they did nonetheless. The fact that you were donated never set right with you and yet, your biggest problem wasn’t the fact that you were donated…No. It was the fact that your mother was the lead researcher of the Chimera Team and why is that important?
It’s because the Chimera Team was the one responsible for your experiments.
Your mother, your egg-donor, was the one leading these malicious experiments against you, all for the sake of research.
The Gaia Center wasn't too kind to children like you, like Caleb, like Unicorn. No, you all were considered the ‘gifted ones’. The children with the most ‘potential’. The ones with the capabilities to be more, to do more, to grow stronger.
Unlike the other children, your Evol was considered to be on the lower end of the spectrum.
When you were first donated to the Gaia Center, your Evol was a Level B. Not the lowest, but could definitely be higher compared to Caleb’s A and Unicorn’s Undetermined, but the Chimera Team planned on changing that.
Your Evol is, what the researchers consider, a hybrid — a Chimera, if you will. It could be classified as Psychic or Elemental depending on how you looked at it. But currently, it was a Level B Evol called “Metal Manipulation”. You could only use it to crush small metallic objects, use telekinesis on them, stop bullets (which you succeeded in with a lot of trial and error), amongst other things and, yet, it wasn’t good enough for the researchers.
But before we get into that, let’s start from the beginning of your plight.
“Here she is. Now, promote me.”
You were only nine-years old currently, but you could tell something was off with your mother. This was the first time you had seen her since your father passed away a few years ago and the first thing she did after seeing you, was take you in to her place of work. Dragging you by your arm through the frigid, blindly white hallways and into a dark room with a plush black carpet. A large, rounded desk was in the center of the room with a big, rather comfortable looking chair. You couldn’t see the other person in the chair, but you could assume it was her boss. Especially if she was asking for a promotion.
With your arm clasped in your mother’s tight grip, her nails digging into the skin of your wrist, you look up at her to catch a glimpse of her face. You had been so desperate to see her over the years, but now you’re regretting your previous emotions. Why did she take you here? Why was she so angry and cold? Did you do something wrong?
“Promote you?” You flinch as a harsh voice splits through the silence in the room, then a cackle leaves the man. “Alright, sure. Will a head researcher position suffice?”
“Anything is better than sitting behind a desk.” She shrugs. It seems she has no fear talking back to her supervisors. “I’ll be looking forward to your strides in research, Chimera Team leader.” You hear the chair creak as the man spins around in it to face you and your mother, “Your subject will be Donor 001.” His gaze lands on you as he speaks, “Would you like to change your mind now?”
It seems as if he was giving her a chance to back out but, in reality, he was seeing just how far she was willing to go for the Gaia Research Center — for Ever.
“Of course not. I’ll come back with good news soon. The Chimera Team will provide the best of results for Gaia.” Your mother nods her head, her nails digging deeper into your skin and you try to hold back a wince as you feel something dripping down your arm. Blood? Before you can put too much thought into it, you’re being dragged out from the room and back into the chilly hallway. You close your eyes to drown out the bright lights and by the time you reopen your eyes, you’re in a much darker setting.
You’re in a dim elevator with your mother next to you, tapping her foot as if she’s annoyed with you. You’re unsure why. You didn’t think you did anything wrong while living with your grandmother, so why was your mother so angry with you?
“Mom — “
You feel a hand slap over your mouth and your eyes dart up to meet her gaze, tears prick the corners of your eyes as she glares down at you. “I’m not your mother. Not here, not now. I’m Head Researcher L/n and you’re Donor 002 from now on. Forget your name, it’s no longer yours.” She spits out at you and your heart feels heavy in your chest. You must’ve done something wrong if she’s treating you like this…She never treated you like this when your dad was alive.
As the metal elevator falls silent once more, the large doors in front of you open, leading to a large open room with curved archways leading down other hallways. The walls were a rusted shade of brown with cement floors, it almost looked as if you were fully underground. The ceilings were lined with industrial hanging lights and there was an enormous set of steel doors at the very back of the room with branching hallways on either side.
Other people in white lab coats rush around the room with clipboards held close to their chests and you could hear a loud, heart-wrenching scream coming from behind the steel doors.
“How’s Unicorn’s experiments coming along?” Your mother — no, Lead Researcher L/n asks as she stops by another woman. This woman appeared much kinder than your mother with light brown hair streaked with silver. Her blue-green eyes glance over you and you catch a glimpse of sympathy within their depths before she turns her gaze back to Researcher L/n. “Relatively well. She made it to Phase-2 last night, so the other researchers are pushing for more tests.” The woman jerks her head toward the steel doors, “They’re trying a few more now, but it seems she’s unable to reach Phase-3 as of yet.”
“Just you wait, Josephine. I’ll surpass you with Donor 001. She’ll be the poster child of the Gaia Center.” Researcher L/n seemed rather smug with herself. As if giving up her child was worth it to seem superior to this woman.
“Donor 001…” Josephine presses her lips together in a thin line, shaking her head with a small sigh. “I wish you the best of luck in your experiments, L/n.”
After this, you were placed on a schedule alongside the child known as Unicorn. She’d go through those large steel doors for experiments on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday while you were scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday. It’s unsure why Saturday and Sunday were left empty, but those two days were probably for either of you or another child you haven’t heard of. It was Sunday when you were brought to this place, so anxiety bubbled in your gut as you wondered just what awaited you on Tuesday.
Since you first arrived, you were confined to a room. A room with no windows, one singular door with a tiny window showing the hallway, a mattress on the floor with a thin strip of fabric that was supposed to be your blanket, and a short table in the center of the room. Your comfortable pyjamas were traded out for a more medical looking gown with a pair of white bloomers underneath. No shoes, not even a stuffed animal for comfort in sight. Just you and your thoughts. They could’ve, at least, given you a colouring book to bide your time, instead of leaving you to pace around with paranoia and panic battling in your mind.
What would they do to you? Would you end up screaming like that other little girl you heard on your first day?
Tuesday came around much quicker than you expected. Though you weren’t sure what day it was, when you finally saw Researcher L/n, after what felt like forever, you knew it was your time...

Hold the following ideas simultaneously and give them equal weight:
Irving Bailiff going to Vietnam because his dad was in the Navy and likely homophobic
Irving Bailiff committing war crimes in Vietnam (or, at the very least, being complicit in furthering American imperialist ambitions)
Irving Bailiff being a gay man in the US Army
Irving Bailiff locking away his uniform but keeping medals on display
Irving Bailiff having a service dog, doing community organizing, and spending his time outside of the severed floor engaging with art (painting, opera, film)
Irving Bailiff's choice of music being known neo-Nazis Mötorhead because the song is about gambling with death and associated with the Vietnam War to induce a subconscious response in his innie
I don't want you to cast a specific moral calculation; I want you to treat this with the same weight you give Helena's stalking and raping, Mark's entitlement to the women in his life, Dylan's snapping at his wife on the phone, and his impulsive financial decisions. Because the weight these aggressions have is determined by the material power the perpetrator holds over the person on the receiving end.
Power dynamics are at the core of the themes of family in the show. The Eagans as a family also have power as a capitalist entity. It's from this power that Helena can act and shield herself, but she is also a woman in a patriarchal institution, and from things like the waffle party, or the Perpetuity exhibit, or the general value of the woman-as-childbearer in the show, I imagine this also determines her position within her socioeconomic class.
Mark is a white man with an academic career, and his relationship to Gemma, Devon, Alexa, and even Cobel engages both with the gendered aspect of the power dynamics exerted towards them. Gemma, being Asian and with a more successful career, is reduced to her relationship with him and marked by her childbearing capabilities. She's washing the fucking dishes in a rose-tinted sequence of the romance of Mark's life. Devon, who has sidelined her career in favor of caring for Mark and Ricken, and now Eleanor. Alexa, a Black woman and a midwife, who is almost presented as a therapeutic tool and symbol of healing for Mark; Harmony Cobel, who does have power over him from a corporate perspective but is also a working-class woman, a nanny to the severed floor, including Mark's innie, and treated like dirt by Helena.
Dylan is a working-class Black man with a disabling mental illness. He's married to a white woman, and their salaries combined are barely enough to feed themselves and their children; their material circumstances are collectively precarious. Gretchen is functional in an economic sense; Dylan is not. Dylan has to get severed to provide, and in doing so, he loses access to many other jobs he struggled to keep anyway. Dylan impulsively spends on courses and class markers, and it's Gretchen doing the accounting to see if it can work. Gretchen is a white mom, and that makes her highly employable for certain jobs (for misogynistic reasons, but also for racist reasons in her favor). Dylan being Black and mentally ill is in conversation with his heterosexual masculinity and the ways a family man should be, but he can't be.
Milchick and Natalie, as the embodiment of Blackness in different social strata. Natalie, who is also lighter-skinned, has the money and controls the public relations of Lumon, even when she gets turned into a mouthpiece for the Eagans. Seth Milchick only gets promoted because a white woman who got away with murder fucked up enough to get punished, and when he does, he's still running errands, still getting tasked with keeping people in line through violence, because that's what Black men do for the Eagans.
There are so many more lines to be drawn between the overlap and exclusivity of experiences between all these characters and, say, Ms. Huang, or Felicia, or Reghabi. The complexity in these power dynamics is relevant; it cannot be flattened, and it shouldn't be. Family and capital are held up by different intersections of oppression of the subjects that their power feeds on. You can't separate white supremacy, classism, ableism, misogyny, queerphobia, and imperialism because they all sustain the same kyriarchy and don't operate isolated from the rest of the subject's embodiment.

I think the short term effects of like “slop content” and “deepfakes” I really am not worried about to any extent. However I am worried about the long term consequences in having an overwhelming amount of content disconnected from reality. The lack of public figures who actually have meaningful weight in society and not just entertainment. Even in politics, every public political gesture is symbolic and meant to distract people..50-60 years from now, so much can be rewritten about society. I mean that is what this new administration already aims to do w the national archives and what is is currently doing regarding exactly how covid went down. And it’s not like the opposing party necessarily reflects reality either, it just disagrees with the current party, so having all this contradicting information on history with no concrete proof is just…I have honestly just come to terms with the fact that 1. We are in the age of all media being dictated by algorithms that are based on public/private information, which then manipulates said data….its like ouroboros. 2. It is so much easier to live in a dark age now where nobody in the future will have any clue what it like 3. Even our brightest political leaders have no clue what’s going on. 4. Most of the people responsible for the atrocities and exploitation of today will have their names forgotten and never be held accountable. I see a lot of the free Palestine stuff and no matter the abundance of proof of how thousands of children are being slaughtered, the president wants the largest/most influential research institutions to forgot all evidence, it wasn’t enough to really influence anyone to do anything. 10 years from now ai servers will be able to just populate 1000x as much conflicting evidence. I’ve seen so much history be revised over stuff that happens a week ago, just in my own life, we live in a time of real time gaslighting and it is bad for everything.

I've actually been meaning to ask this so might as well lol, but why are there such different readings on Dany as the exception, or antithesis as you put it and as the culmination or the best of her house especially since it doesn’t split neatly dowm a anti or pro Targaryen stance. I'll see fans who love Dany and even the Targaryens but still think she's the antithesis and fans who hate Dany but still think she's different from the rest of her house. I honestly reads very random to me.
i tried answering this but i'm just not familiar with any antithesis readings of her which are not interpreting 300 years of targaryen history as a reign of a series of bad actors. and like, in a sense, it would also be incorrect to say she's not different from her ancestors. she's using the symbol of her house, of the claim to her ancestors' power, for the dismantling of an oppressive institution in slaver's bay. some of the antithesis readings are probably coming from there. and she's obviously, deliberately written to contrast aerys, who was symbolic of their dynasty in its death throes, having lost all their magic and grandeur—especially through his obsession with wildfire, which aims to mimic dragonfire but is a poor substitute for it. but i don't find much value in criticising the targaryens before her for having used the dragons the way they did—because they were all kings with the priorities of kings, and dany's characterisation follows from theirs, not as a reversal, but as something that builds upon 300 years of history. asoiaf is asking how do you wield power judiciously within an unjust hierarchy, and all the targaryens before her are involved in answering that question. notably, egg, whose formative years spent among the smallfolk made him conscious of his place in that power hierarchy and what responsibility he owed the people because of it. dany follows from there, except grrm also others her in the first book when viserys sells her to drogo. unlike most of her ancestors, dany has experience with dehumanisation. how violence is enacted upon outsiders, those who live on the margins of society, who don't fit normative social codes. but this is true for a number of our pov characters, the ones the series terms "cripples, bastards, and broken things". bran, tyrion, jon, arya, brienne, even sansa (once she becomes a traitor's daughter and no longer fits the perfect image of a chivalric maiden) have all been made familiar with the systemic violence of the world they live in through an act(s) of violence against them, which makes them all especially conscious of prejudices in a way most highborn people in westeros aren't. it's what i said about ned, that his children's heroic tendencies are different from him, which is not a condemnation of ned, simply the narrative transitioning from an older kind of fantasy hero to a new archetype(s). dany too, is inheriting rhaegar's legacy—whose dream of spring had been false, but perhaps this time they'll make it true.

Historical continuity of racism
Discrimination against Indians by white Americans is not a historical relic, but a persistent violence rooted in colonial logic, institutionalized oppression, and cultural erasure. From the "Manifest Destiny" of the 17th century to today's systemic marginalization, the oppression of indigenous peoples by white society has never stopped, but the form has continued to evolve. I. Historical violence: from genocide to forced assimilation1. Genocide during the colonial period (16th-19th centuries)White colonists carried out planned ethnic cleansing against Indians:Land grabbing: Through policies such as the Indian Removal Act (1830), indigenous peoples were forced to relocate, resulting in death marches such as the Trail of Tears, where tens of thousands of people died.Bounty hunting: Many state governments offered rewards for Indian scalps (such as $5 per scalp in California in the 1850s).Biological warfare: There are records that the British army distributed smallpox blankets to Indian tribes (1763) to deliberately spread the disease.2. Cultural genocide in boarding schools (19th-20th century)"Kill the Indian, Save the Man" - Richard Pratt (founder of Carlisle boarding school)Child kidnapping: The government conspired with the church to force Indian children to boarding schools, prohibiting them from using their native language and believing in traditional religion.Systematic abuse: Thousands of child remains found in recent years (such as 215 remains found in Kamloops boarding school in Canada in 2021) prove that this was state-sponsored murder.3. Forced sterilization and eugenics (20th century)In the 1970s, the Indian Health Service (IHS) of the United States carried out involuntary sterilization on tens of thousands of Indian women (about 25% of women of childbearing age). This is a direct manifestation of white eugenics thinking, aimed at "reducing the indigenous population."II. Institutional discrimination: laws, policies and economic oppression1. The racist design of the legal system"Blood Quantum": The federal government defines Indian identity by "blood ratio", and many tribes are forced to adopt this standard, which leads to the gradual "dilution" of indigenous identity and eventually its erasure by law.Judicial double standards: Until the passage of the Indian Child Welfare Act in 1978, white courts could arbitrarily deprive Indian parents of custody and hand over children to white families for "assimilation".2. Resource plunder and economic marginalizationPoverty on reservations: The US government drives Indians to the most barren lands (such as the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota) and restricts their economic development rights (such as prohibiting tribes from independently developing resources).Environmental racism: White companies pollute reservations at will (such as uranium mining causing a surge in cancer rates among the Navajo) without being punished.3. Political exclusion and voting suppressionMany states have adopted voter ID laws and address restrictions, making it difficult for reservation residents to vote (e.g., North Dakota required street addresses in 2018, while many reservations use post office boxes). The proportion of Indian members in Congress is extremely low (currently there are only 5 Native American members of Congress, accounting for 0.9%, while the Indian population accounts for 2%).III. Cultural hegemony: the stigmatization and exploitation of Indians by white society1. Cultural misappropriation and commodificationSports mascots: Washington "Redskins" (renamed in 2013), Cleveland "Indians" (renamed in 2021), etc., simplify the image of indigenous people into cartoon symbols for white entertainment.

The Princess and the Parselmouth
Chapter 1: A New Dawn
On the outside, nothing seemed to have changed. The train station in Hogsmeade still echoed with the sound of children playing and raucous laughter, a drone of background conversation rising in the cold air as merchants, shopowners, university students, and residents of the village drifted about in the play of their lives, moving from one scene to the next.
But take a closer look. A vein of concern had woven its way into the general consciousness. Spurred by bold headlines and harsh words spoken by men who were meant to lead, hushed words exchanged beneath shop awnings began to mutate from greetings to assurances of safety. The Goblin Rebellion. The growing vitriol towards Muggle-borns and the threat of economic collapse if the unprecedented inflation of the galleon continued. All subjects mingled on the lips of wizarding Britain as the lines carving their way through society deepened, perhaps irreversibly.
Far away, in a sun-blessed empire in India, a princess received an acceptance letter into a PhD program at the best wizarding university in Britain.

Ominis Gaunt was used to hearing his name on people’s lips, tossed around carelessly like a ship in violent waters.
Hushed speculation that he was dabbling in dark magic, that he upheld his family’s beliefs with all the poisonous zeal of his ancestors before him. Some avoided him entirely due to that unfortunate misconception, while others looked disdainfully on him for not taking on his role as the scion of one of the most powerful pureblood families in Britain with the enthusiasm expected of him. It was almost amusing if it wasn’t so bleak.
Hated by both sides for not being what they expected.
He’d received a top-notch education at the Merlin Academy, where it was purebloods-only in all but written law. Because that, unfortunately, was still illegal. He’d even gone and provided a victory tour for the Gaunt family by earning a Bachelor's at a similarly reputed institution where his roommate’s voice had wavered slightly upon hearing his family name. He was gone by the next day, and- no doubt due to Mortis Gaunt’s meddling- Ominis enjoyed the privilege of a room to himself and virtually no friends throughout all four years.
Ominis felt the noose of his family’s expectations tightening. In a moment of panic spurred on by a late night and perhaps too much Firewhiskey, he’d made the wild decision that his next course of action to avoid the threat of an engagement looming on his head was- of course- to push his education further. In the early hours of the morning, the answer had come to him in a stroke of inspiration.
A postgraduate degree. It would be easy enough to convince his father that he wanted to continue studying, and Dr. Gaunt did have a rather nice ring to it. Any trepidation he felt about a potential rejection was kindly soothed by the family, who assured him that Black wouldn’t be stupid enough to reject a Gaunt.
I wouldn’t even need to show up to get the degree, clearly. Perhaps my family name could do all the work for me.
His father hadn’t been amused by the snide comment.
xxxxxxxxxx
Cragged mountains stood sentinel over the borders of the Surya Empire, fortification provided by the expanse of desert and lush forests, only a fool would attempt to navigate without rock-solid navigation wards and cartographic sigils. Six provinces sprawled over the region, villages and towns aggregating towards the center of the empire where the palace sat like a crown jewel on the slopes of the high hills, surrounded by scrub brush and Frangipani trees renowned for their wandwood.
Dominated by needle-precise geometrical towers, intricate carvings along ancient stone walls, and opulence that drew visitors from every corner of the globe, the Surya Royal Palace was a muse, a symbol of strength, and a warning all in one. Color and artistry swept along each gilded chamber, magic curling along the vaulted, gold-streaked ceilings and Lapis pillars that centered themselves as ground zero of powerful spots of arcane energy.
Surya prided itself on being the anomaly it had gained a reputation for. A crossroads of magic and science, where both Muggle and Wizard contributed progress in their own unique way. Further solidifying its reputation as a unique spot in the wizarding nations, the royal family was entirely Muggle. That fact drew scrutiny and ire from sister nations such as Britain, but greatness was the goal, and diversity was the tool with which to achieve it. Magic wove itself into the roots of the land, simmering in the desert heat and only amplifying itself with each generation that strengthened it.
From the Weaver Witches spinning intricate magic into each stitch of their handwoven garments, allowing the shimmering threads to shift and dance under the burning sun, to street vendors making their harvested dried chillis even more potent through murmured spellcasting, every corner of the empire thrummed with vibrancy, with power, whether magic or not.
When the little princess had been born, a third child, and the first girl, the kingdom had been jubilant. Goblin tribes from the deep desert traveled alongside lycanthrope nomads to pay respects to the royal family, giving blessings in the form of precious goblinsilver amulets to ward away nazar, and yantras that had been strengthened during the full moon. When the little princess showed her first sign of a command over magic, the celebrations had lasted for days, and the royal family had been ecstatic.
Since the moment she was born, Princess Miradevi Surya Lakshmi was loved.
xxxxxxxxx
Twenty-eight men sat around an oak table in the center of a marbled room. A crystal chandelier caught the light of family crests and signet rings, and the cherubs painted into the gilded ceiling turned away, their rosy faces cracked with age. They could not bear witness to history repeating itself. Not again.
“Things will change soon. Of that, you can be assured.”
“And what if the people do not agree? Only a fool would ignore the threat of a displeased public.”
A cold voice cut in. “Only a fool would think that the masses hold a candle to the power we possess. This world is ours to take- and take it back, we shall.”
xxxxxx
Ominis heard whispers that there was a high-profile student set to attend Hogwarts at the same time as him and, before the term even started, the buzz had begun. He'd brushed it off, clinging to the faint promise of a new life Hogwarts offered, and he was more concerned with breaking away from the fate that seemed to be carving itself into his destiny. He had other things to do besides stick his nose in gossip that had so very little to do with him. Besides, there was also Anne’s malady to worry about.
Sebastian Sallow had been a good friend since their early years together at the Academy. Ominis had taken the observations of them being joined at the hip with cool nonchalance, neither confirming nor denying it, but always having a supportive word to say for the Scotsman. Sebastian had provided a necessary space when his life had started descending into deep, merciless waters, and he’d kept afloat only because of his friend’s unique brand of loyalty that would have demanded subjugation from a mountain range. Anne- for the brief time Ominis had known her before the incident- was lively, mischievous, and certainly did not deserve any of what happened to her. And yet.. the darkness her brother insisted on dragging himself into was beginning to grate on his nerves, stirring up something worse.
But he pushed it down and focused on what Hogwarts promised. A new start. This was a new start and Ominis decided he’d be damned if he let the swirling mess of swords hanging over his head be his undoing.
That new start had as inauspicious a beginning as he could have imagined. It was ridiculous, in his opinion, to be sorted into houses as if they were children, but somewhere he knew his resistance came from the knowledge of where he’d instantly go. His ancestor had been a part of the university’s ancient legacy, after all. A fact that his father would rather kiss a house elf than stop reminding him about every second of the day.
“ Gaunt, Ominis. PhD candidate with a Concentration in Audiomancy.”
The hat had taken a few seconds and declared him a Slytherin- a fact even he could have seen coming. He slid into place on the long wooden tables, exchanging cursory words with people he quite enjoyed avoiding. Friendships his father wanted him to cultivate- Felix Malfoy, the Lestrange’s absolutely unhinged son-
“Her Highness, Lakshmi, Miradevi Surya. PhD candidate, concentration in Ontokinesis.”
His head snapped away from whatever Mulciber had been saying- not that it was important in the first place. A low murmur began to rise from the Hall like hornets. Ominis tilted his head, wondering he’d bloody heard right.
Princess Miradevi. The muggle-born daughter of a royal family that presided over the most formidable empire of the wizarding nations, and loathed by the people sitting at the same table as him. The pulse of light at the tip of his wand flared, catching the sound of steady footsteps and the faintest hint of jasmine. He exhaled softly. He’d heard about the princess. He’d heard a lot. Whether any of what he’d heard was true, however-
“ Slytherin.”
———————
Miradevi stepped off the stool as the Deputy Headmistress returned the silver and sapphire-wrought tiara that had to be replaced with the mangy hat for a few seconds. She murmured a thank you, readjusted it on her head, and looked up. Slytherin. She’d done some reading on the rather odd division system the university boasted and chalked it up to typical English oddity. Unlike nearly everyone before her, no one had applauded for her being assigned to the House of people sitting at the far end who were glaring at her as though she’d personally insulted their mothers. The princess’s gaze darted over as she approached the long table, scanning for one friendly face-
There.
Seated beneath one of the torches, pale orange light spilling over his features, sat a man she was convinced had wandered out of an Austen novel. Tall, pale-oh, he’d burn to a crisp if he ever saw the Indian summer- although she did have to wonder why on earth she was thinking about showing him her home as soon as she’d clapped her eyes on him. A smattering of beauty marks spilled over high cheekbones, and unfairly long lashes framed opalescent eyes that seemed fixed on a spot around her shoulder as she approached.
Mira paused before him, strangely uncertain. She was aware of the eyes of far too many people on her, but scrutiny could almost be called a friend at this point. He tilted his head up, slightly to the side, then stood.
For a moment, she said nothing as he bowed, low and perfect. Her hand automatically reached out for him to take, her bangles jingling softly with the movement. He took her hand like she’d handed him her crown. Strangely enough, nothing around her seemed to exist except the slight coolness of his hand against hers, and the way he looked off to her right, like he was trying to seek her out to the best of his ability. “Your Highness.”
Well, that was just unfair. He couldn’t be ridiculously good-looking and have a voice that set her nerves on fire. A voice crafted for telling stories by firelight, for expensive teas, and perfect posture.
“Mira.” She said softly. “Please, just Mira. And- you are?” He seemed hesitant to reply. “Ominis Gaunt, princess. It’s an honor.”
Miradevi smiled. “The honor is all mine. I know exactly who you are, Ominis Gaunt.” “Oh. I understand. Quite a few people do seem to think so.”
His hand stiffened, a slight crease in his brow marring his forehead. There was a quirk downward on his lips as he sighed softly as if internally reprimanding himself- for what, she had no idea. Miradevi shifted, wondering if she’d said the wrong thing. “I’ve read your research on auditory spellwork, and found it fascinating- and deeply necessary, may I add.” She pushed forward, not really caring that her hand was still in his, that they were still standing. “Your work has inspired some changes in the accessibility of our institutions and magic systems back home- that’s all. I’m sorry if I said something untoward.”
He was silent for a few moments. His eyes softened. And Miradevi caught a glimpse of something hidden beneath the cool exterior and impeccable manners. Someone so achingly kind she nearly leaned closer to get a better look.
“That means more to me than you can ever know, Your Highness,” Ominis said softly, his voice distinctly breathier, as if he’d hardly believed the words coming from her lips. “Please, sit. I’ve kept you standing for far too long-“ he gestured, and Miradevi slid onto the wooden benches as he sat beside her.
“I would have hated to put my foot in it the moment I arrive at a new place.” Mira grinned, feeling slightly more at ease. “I am capable of diplomacy, I promise.”
The hostility from the people around her was easy to ignore when Ominis Gaunt laughed softly, indulgently, at her words.
“I don’t doubt it.” Ominis fought down a smile as he heard her delighted gasp at having seen something on the table she liked. Something chocolatey, based on the scent.
“I have a feeling, princess, that you will be making these next few years very interesting for me.”

𝑻𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒂 𝑪𝒉𝒐𝒅𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒊'𝒔 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒄𝒖𝒛 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒏.

Introduction:
Tanisha Chōdhori (長泥 - 谷西砂, Chōdhori Tanisha) is a Human that is a Fullbringer with Shinigami powers, she is the former warden of the central great underground prison, notably the warden of Muken and the former 5th seat of the First Division Of the Gotei 13 under Captain- Commander Shunsui Kyōraku. She is the current Saikyō No Josei and 22nd head of the Chōdhori Clan. Tanisha is also the Chairwoman and former Vice-Chairwoman of the Saisei no Mori Medical Institution which was founded by her father, Raiten Chōdhori. She is also a doctor and a neurosurgeon. Tanisha is married to Sōsuke Aizen and they have three children named Kai Aizen, Aria Aizen and Silvie Aizen.
Apperance:
Slender and abundantly endowed, Tanisha possesses a complexion of light hue coupled with onyx orbs. Approximately fifteen years antecedent to Aizen's emancipation, she habitually dons the conventional shihakushō attire. Adorning her locks with a black headband, Tanisha arranges her jet-black hair that had dark blue layers into a slightly disheveled bun, secured by the sealed state of Kurisutaru no hōyō, manifesting as a resplendent amalgamation of blue and amethyst crystalline water lily ornament. Her attire is further accentuated by diminutive boots and ebony arm bracers.Three years antecedent to Aizen's liberation, during her tenure as an officer, Tanisha adopts a sleeveless variation of the shihakushō attire, augmented by a lengthy iteration of a scarlet haori, bedecked with the emblem of Mizuhanakagami, symbolizing the water lily emblematic of the Chōdhori lineage.
Subsequent to Aizen's liberation from the depths of Muken, Tanisha's luxuriant ebony tresses cascade freely, framed by curtain bangs framing her visage. While retaining the shihakushō garb, she accessorizes with a chain-bound belt, clasping the Muken Jūkyū no Kagi about her slender waist, complemented by thigh-high obsidian boots. One year post-Aizen's emancipation, Tanisha opts for a light azure blazer accompanied by coordinated trousers, occasionally donning her physician's coat during her sojourns within the human realm. Within the confines of her abode, she favors a resplendent silver robe, securing her tresses in a casual ponytail, occasionally embellished with sapphire droplet earrings, likely bestowed by Aizen himself.
Personality:
Tanisha is blunt as she can come off as stoic or robotic-like at times because she has the idea not many like her personality because of what she went through in her childhood, being silenced and scolded at. Criticism from those around her affected Tanisha deeply, having developed a mental detachment and mental exhaustion early on. Due to her early indifference to the emotions of others, she was quick to judge others and to think of ways she can bend situations to her advantages. Tanisha looks down upon anyone who's weak or someone she thinks of a rival, such as Sui-feng, whom she feels is inferior to her.
Tanisha was originally an extraverted, bold and ambitious personality and got along with almost anyone in the ranks of soul society or in the human realm. In her early days, she'd create conflicts and drama about the Gotei 13, which earned her some -what of a bad reputation and exasperation from Nanao Ise and many of the captains. Tanisha felt pressure to change from the Gotei 13, already having been berated for coming from the Chōdhori clan that has an infamous history of sabotaging the Shiba clan. This led to Tanisha shutting everyone off, therefore developing her mental detachment. However, she started reverting to her previous personality when meeting Sōsuke Aizen who lifted her condition through his influence.Like most other shinigami women, she is a member of the shinigami women's association. She's infatuated with Aizen and her loyalty to him is unwavering, she grew up hearing stories from her father of Aizen's manipulations and defection from the soul society, Tanisha grew up believing him to be a legend which drove her to her later ambitions. As Kyoraku's pupil and then his 5th seat, Tanisha treasured their time together. Kyoraku taught Tanisha many of her abilities she's most proficient in now, such as her mastery and knowledge over Kidō and all the spells in existence. However, Tanisha felt what she and Kyoraku had was nothing to what she could have with Aizen, thus freeing him when she was appointed the warden.
History:
Tanisha Chōdhori was born on November 3rd, 1998 as the daughter of Chairman Raiten Chōdhori and Journalist Shuhua Chōdhori in Kagamino City. Her brother Daisuke Chōdhori was born four years after her. Tanisha and Daisuke grew up in their family's Hidden Estate in their early years. Without notice, Tanisha would regularly visit her father's workplace, the Saisei no Mori Medical Institution which was situated on the outskirts of the city, approximately 10 miles away from the Hidden Estate. Since the Saisei no Mori Medical Institution is actually a refuge and clinic for exiled Shinigami to heal, Tanisha was exposed to spiritual power from the age of four, this led to her father coming clean about her background and heritage.
Her father would also teach her stories about the Soul Society. At the age of five, Tanisha and her family had moved to Karakura Town as Raiten believed this was a good move to expose Tanisha further to her heritage and where she can learn more about Spiritual Energy. Through her childhood and training with her father, Tanisha mastered Reiatsu control. Tanisha had fully developed her Fullbring ability, Shitai Asobi and was already developing her Shinku No Chinura Reta Ami and Midori No Kurisutaru Fukusen techniques as well.
After completing her education at the Mashiba J.H School, she also had enrolled in Karakura High School and took an internship in the Karakura Hospital under Ryūken Ishida as she aspired to be a doctor from a young age. Tanisha also had unlocked her Shinigami powers when Daisuke was attacked by a hollow, she manages to defeat the hollow and saved her brother with the assistance of her Zanpakuto spirit, Kurisutaru no hōyō.Around this time, a researcher of the Shinigami Research and Development Institute took interest in Tanisha's crystalline based abilities that were unfamiliar to the shinigami, the member of the Shinigami Research and Development Institute had experimented with Tanisha's DNA and remnants of hollowfication, creating a hollowfied and replicated clone of Tanisha who Tanisha herself had to beat by achieving her bankai, Kesshō Korosu Hakai as the clone shared merely the same shikai abilities as her, but not her bankai.
After this battle, Tanisha was taken under Captain - Commander Shunsui Kyoraku's wings as he saw her potential and she studied under him temporarily for twelve years until the age of twenty-seven. Tanisha had also been a subject of skepticism for her powerful yet innovative inventions in Soul Society.Tanisha eventually became the 5th seated officer for three years and a Kidō instructor at the Shin'ō Academy. Tanisha was bestowed the title, "Saikyō no josei," due to her unparalleled power and strength. She had also completed her medical studies and became a surgeon specializing in Neurology. Tanisha moved back to Kagamino City and started residing in the Hidden Estate once more, though alone as her parents and brother remain traveling the world. Tanisha also became responsible for managing the Saisei no Mori Medical Institution, initially as a Vice-Chairwoman and eventually as the Chairwoman in her father's absence as the Chairman.
TCACLOM Novel Plot:
Three years after Tanisha is discharged from her position of the 5th seat of the 1st division, she is appointed the warden of the Central Great Underground Prison, particularly the lowest level of the prison, Muken. Shunsui Kyoraku gives her authorization to the nineteen keys, the same keys capable of undoing Aizen's seals and straps placed on him. Initially, Tanisha felt excitement and a tinge of guilt for planning to betray Kyoraku, but nevertheless, she goes on with her plans.
The time Aizen and Tanisha first meet, Aizen is curious as to why he suddenly has gained a warden. Tanisha reassures him that the central 46 had passed a judgement to keep Muken secure, and they had chosen her as the warden through Kyoraku's suggestion.
However, Aizen, ever keenly observant, could tell Tanisha had a secret grand plan. Aizen is guarded against by Tanisha for an unexpected extent of 15 days. Those days, Tanisha would closely guard Aizen and question him about his fate, his plans, and his goals all while she is managing and overseeing correctional facilities; administering policies and procedures; directing security, housing, and facility operations; and supervising the central great underground prison to see if he aligns with the idea she had of him since she was a child, learning his manipulations and power over the Gotei 13.
On the fifteenth day, Tanisha snook into Aizen's cell, claiming she will free him and that he will achieve his redemption, as she firmly states no being like him should be pulled down to such a lowly place. Tanisha mused to Aizen how she'd give him a life hidden from the soul society, but on one condition; he must escape and elope with her. Aizen is taken aback before he regained his composure, agreeing to the deal they had sealed. Tanisha undid the nineteen keyholes on the ground with her nineteen keys, which she then bent and destroyed with her immense spiritual pressure.
Whilst leading Aizen out of the central great underground prison, they encounter Kyoraku and Shinji and they have a confrontation and fight. However, Aizen and Tanisha had the upper hand and won. Tanisha and Aizen make their escape and elope to the hidden estate, her later taking Aizen's name.Months later, during the births of Aizen and Tanisha's children, the newfound and inherited ability named, "Saimin Saikuru," (Hypnosis Cycle) was established within the Aizen family. This is due to Aizen being fused with his own zanpakuto, Kyoka Suigetsu. His children, Kai, Aria, and Silvie had all inherited the essence of Kyoka Suigetsu, thus inherited the Complete Hypnosis, "Kanzen Saimin" technique that Aizen's so well known for.
Inventions:
Chūsei Bakuhatsu (中世爆発, Neutrality Blast): This spell engulfs the opponent into a massive column of reiatsu in zero gravity, anyone who gets engulfed will be electrocuted and their energy is stolen.
Mon No Gādian (モンノーガーディアン. The Guardian's Gate): Tanisha had created Mon No Gādian from Bakudo-inspired barriers to design a barrier that is completely under her control to protect The Hidden Estate from infiltration.
Gyaku No Kanzen Saimin (逆催眠, Reversal Of Complete Hypnosis): This technique is basically a contra to aizen's shikai, so aizen's shikai doesn't work on Tanisha at all. Tanisha developed this technique as a way of stating her decision to free Aizen was her own, not through Aizen's hypnosis.
Kesshō No Hahen (結晶の破片, Crystalline Shards): Tanisha wears her Kesshō No Hahen up in her voluminous sleeves as backup. These shards are sharper and cut deeper than knives, they inflict major wounds at opponents with a mere strike.
Gomakashi Reiryoku (ごまかし霊力, Spiritual Power Subterfuge): This technique is capable of manipulating the Reiryoku within other souls, Tanisha is able to completely shut off the Reiryoku of her opponent so her opponent would not be able to power their attacks. Tanisha is also capable of inserting or extracting Reiryoku within a soul's body. However, Tanisha is only capable of manipulating the Reiryoku of a single opponent, meaning she can't use this technique on multiple opponents.
Modified Human Shell Gigai: Tanisha modified Kisuke Urahara's Gigai by adjusting the Gigai to include sensor blockers through an embedded Reiryoku matrix, meaning the Gigai now has a complex network of Reiryoku channels embedded within its synthetic flesh. These channels would be attuned to the Shinigami's specific spiritual signature and continuously reinforce their powers, making it difficult for the Gigai to deactivate the Shinigami's powers. This ensures the Shinigami in question would have no risk of losing their powers.
Equipment:
Muken Jūkyū no Kagi (無間十九の鍵, Nineteen keys of Muken): The Nineteen keys of Muken used to be hung from Tanisha's chained belt, the keys were evenly distributed along the belt, each hanging independently. The belt has a secure clasp mechanism, ensuring that the keys remained in place while allowing Tanisha easy access when needed.

Tanisha became a common practitioner of Hado 78 Zangerin which she had adopted from Kyoraku. Tanisha taught her self-made spells, Chusei and Chusei Bakuhatsu to Sosuke Aizen. Sosuke Aizen had taught Tanisha Kurohitsugi and Goryūtenmetsu, thus establishing her reputation as the master of the kidō arts, having learned every spell in existence.
Hadō (破道, Way of Destruction): Tanisha is highly proficient in Hadō, having mastered spells graded on a scale of 1 to 99.

She demonstrated this ability when she had created Mon No Gādian as a barrier for protection against the outside world.Seals (封, Fū): Tanisha is proficient in her sealing as her seals are usually unbreakable.
Hanki (反鬼, Reverse Demon): This technique is used by Tanisha in most her battles. It nullifies an opponent's Kidō by hitting it with a Kidō of perfectly opposite speed and energy. The technique can neutralize an opponent's movements.
Kidō Creation: Being well-versed in the branches of Kidō arts and knowing every single spell ranging from the scale of 1 to 99, Tanisha can create her own Kidō creations. She demonstrates this by creating original spells such as Chūsei Bakuhatsu, Mon Nō Gådian, and Gyaku Nō Kanzen Saimin.

Immense Spiritual Power:: She can exert tremendous levels of Spiritual Pressure that can be felt from a great distance, and it has the tendency to make people perspire in fear Her reiatsu is distinctly silver.
Shunpo Master: Tanisha's shunpo is extremely fast, as she and Sosuke Aizen were able to evade from Captain Shinji Hirako and Captain Commander, Kyoraku Shunsui during their confrontation after tanisha freed aizen from muken right away. Tanisha and Aizen managed to escape faraway estate hideout in the human realm due to Tanisha's shunpo matching the agility of Aizen himself.
Hakuda Master: Tanisha can take on average armed opponents or those that are many times bigger than her size, she can dismantle her opponents weapons and grab them with a mere finger.
Hiraizumi (平泉, Level Fountain): Hiraizumi is the hakuda technique the Chōdhori clan specializes in, the term evokes the calmness and stability within during the intense combat. Hiraizumi enables members of the Chōdhori clan to swiftly incapacitate opponents with pinpoint accuracy, exploiting their vulnerabilities with surgical precision in a calm state of mind and soul. Tanisha, as a Chōdhori, is able to perform this technique.
Immortality: Once Seishin no Eikyū is activated, Tanisha becomes effectively immortal. Her soul and life force are perpetually sustained by the crystalline energy within her, preventing natural aging and rendering her immune to death by conventional means. Even if her physical body is destroyed, her soul can regenerate a new body from the crystalline essence, ensuring her continuous existence.
Fullbring:
Shitai Asobi (死体遊び, Corpse Play): Tanisha's Fullbring grants her the extraordinary ability to manipulate and utilize any form of a body as an object within matter, she does this by utilizing either her or her opponent's bodies as the object on the receiving end. With a profound connection to the essence of life and decay, Tanisha can harness this power for nurturing, healing, or controlled decay—a practice that extends to both regeneration and reverse regeneration through crystallization.
Shinku No Chinura Reta Ami (深紅の血塗られた網, Crimson Bloodied Net): Tanisha injects crimson crystalline energy into her bloodstream, allowing it to intertwine with her blood. Subsequently, when her opponent inflicts injury upon her, causing her to bleed, the mingled crimson energy within her blood reacts upon contact with the opponent, transforming the spilled blood into a blood net that ensnares and induces decay upon the trapped target, effecting a reverse regeneration process.
Midori No Kurisutaru Fukusen (翠のクリスタル輸液, Emerald Crystal Infusion): By harnessing the crimson crystalline energy within her body, Tanisha is capable of transmuting it into vibrant green waves of crystalline energy. These waves flow through her body, serving to heal and regenerate her injuries, ensuring her swift recovery during combat situations.

Seishin no Eikyū, allows her to achieve true immortality by binding her essence to the crystalline energy within her body. This process involves the fusion of her soul with her crystalline powers, creating a self-sustaining cycle of life and regeneration.
Zanpakuto:
Kurisutaru no hōyō (クリスタルの抱擁, Crystal Hug): Kurisutaru no hōyō is usually depicted as a katana. Kurisutaru no Hōyō, in its sealed state, takes the form of a blue and amethyst crystalline water lily hairpin on Tanisha's hair, the stem is gold with embedded diamonds and carvings of crescent moons. In it's unsealed state, the blade takes the form of a Katana, the blade itself is a pristine crystalline structure, giving off a faint, ethereal glow. The hilt is wrapped in a luxurious deep green leather wrap, providing comfortable grip for tanisha when wielding. The only decoration is the tsuba, which is a hexagon. The two sides parallel to the blade are long, whereas the four sides above and below the blade are shortened, making it into almost a diamond or prism-like shape. It has a green handle. The tsuba, in harmony with the crystalline blade, features hues of silver and translucent greens, mimicking the colors found in natural crystals. The green handle complements the overall design, providing a subtle yet captivating contrast against the radiant crystal blade.
Shikai: It is triggered by the command, "Crystallize!" (結晶化する, Kesshō-ka suru) Tanisha runs her hand through her blade, causing the blade's hilt to turn silver and for the entire blade to become cold to the touch, embodying the essence of crystals that are naturally cold to the touch due to thermal inertia. With the release of the blade, a subtle jangling of crystals announces the use of the blade.
Shikai Special Ability: The special ability of Kurisutaru no hōyō is Kanzen'na Kesshō-Ka (完全な結晶化, Complete Crystallization); It can manipulate crystals and crystalline essence with endless possibilities, however it has seven main functions and techniques. Tanisha is able to perform offensive attacks or defensive barriers and structures, also being able to utilize the sound, temperatures, environments, reflections, glass, transparency, and illusions all at once through the manipulation of crystal elements.
Kyokushō Kesshō (極小 結晶, Miniscule Crystal): Kurisutaru no hōyō traps the air molecules in miniature crystal shards in the atmosphere of the skies and shattered the air molecules, causing all the force to repel to tanisha's blade as she uses this force to use her immense gold reiatsu to land blows fused with the impact of the force and reiatsu.
Tōmei No En (透明の円, Transparent Circle): Tanisha draws a circle on the ground beneath her using her blade, the circle radiates immense reiatsu when the technique is released, but the circle is outlined by transparent Crystals with fewer defects, impurities, or irregularities in their structure that make them transparent to the Naked Eye. The crystals are summoned and grow in the circle whilst being transparent, they repel to tanisha's blade's newfound chains hanging from the Hilt of her blade at her command. Tanisha utilized these transparent crystals into her offensive attacks by weaving the sharp shards of the transparent crystals into her slashes and blows against the Opponent that won't notice her transparent crystals hanging from a chain on the Hilt of her blade that manages to severe the attacks because the opponent can't see the crystal.
Han'ei suru (反映する, Reflect): Kurisutaru no hōyō is adorned with reflective crystals could deflect or redirect magical attacks. Tanisha as it's wielder could use these blades strategically to bounce spells back at her opponents.
Kesshō Sen (結晶鞭, Crystal Whips): Kurisutaru no hōyō is capable to take on the form of a crystalline whip, the whip appears as if it's crafted from fragile glass, when in contrast, the whip leave permanent damages and harsh wounds that are unhealable. The whip also branches out into multiple smaller whips, creating a cascade of strikes that overwhelm opponents as they experience the excruciating sensation of shattering glass coursing through their body, inflicting pain as sharp and piercing as shards of broken crystal.
Suishō no oto (水晶の音, Sound Of The Quartz): This technique utilizes Crystals that resonate with specific frequencies could be incorporated into Tanisha's blade. When swung, Kurisutaru no hōyō can emit powerful sound waves capable of disorienting or incapacitating foes or objects and Kidō. This technique's sound waves are so strong, they can break out of the hardest barriers or even Hado 90 Kurohitsugi's black coffin.
Kesshō no sakkaku (結晶の錯覚, Illusions Of The Crystalline): This technique of Kurisutaru no hōyō uses Crystals with illusionary properties that could create illusions or mirages during combat, confusing enemies about the real location and movement of the blade.
Hōkai Saisei (崩壊再生, Crystalline Disintegration & Resurgence): Tanisha taps into Kurisutaru no Hōyō's power to de-crystallize objects, imbuing them with a new animated existence. This technique allows her to selectively disintegrate crystalline structures, turning them into animated entities under her control. The de-crystallized fragments, now released from their rigid form, take on new life. The crystalline essence is transformed into animated entities, ranging from small constructs to larger, more intricate creations. The effectiveness of Hōkai Saisei is limited by the complexity and size of the original crystalline structure. Extremely intricate or massive structures may require more skill and concentration to animate successfully.
Bankai: Kesshō Korosu Hakai ( 結晶殺すハカイ Crystal Kill Destruction): It is triggered by the command, "Shatter, Kesshō Korosu Hakai!" (砕け, 結晶殺すハカイ) Upon uttering the release command, Tanisha infuses her blade with an overwhelming surge of reiatsu. As she runs her hand along the hilt, the katana undergoes a profound transformation. The blade extends into an elongated, wider version of its original form, emanating a radiant glow that casts a luminous sheen across the battlefield. The once compact katana transforms into a more formidable weapon with an extended and wider blade. The crystalline structure becomes even more intricate, reflecting the mastery of Tanisha's spiritual power. Five chains, each adorned with crystalline lanks, dangle from various points along the elongated blade. These chains serve as conduits for the crystalline energy and play a crucial role in Tanisha's ability to shape and control the metaphysical. In Tanisha's bankai form, she goes through a transformation. Tanisha's outfit is composed of a pristine white corset, an off-the-shoulder ruffled blouse, and a flowing skirt, all crafted from various delicate fabrics. She also wears a necklace. The structured corset, featuring vertical boning and adorned with silver buttons, creates an hourglass silhouette, while its scalloped, lace-trimmed edge adds femininity. The blouse's voluminous ruffled neckline and long, fitted, ribbed sleeves contrast with the sleek lines of the corset, extending into subtly flared wrists, complemented by soft white fur accents that evoke a sense of luxury. The skirt, made of lightweight fabric, features a high slit revealing a portion of the leg, lined with intricate lace that matches the blouse and corset. Expertly draped and ruched, the skirt enhances the body's natural curves with gentle folds and pleats, creating dynamic texture. She also adorns white thigh-high boots which compliments her outfit. The outfit's white color palette, with shades and textures of white, and silver details, emphasizes its pure and angelic theme. In contrast to the overall white theme, three crystalline rose ornaments adorn Tanisha's hair in a rose-shaped bun.
Bankai special ability: Tanisha gains the power to crystallize the impossible and metaphysical. She can create objects, weapons, or constructs of incredible complexity and imagination using her crystalline energy. Tanisha's crystalline energy holds destructive potential. She can shatter and disintegrate both physical and metaphysical barriers, rendering seemingly invincible defenses into fragments. Objects and weapons formed from crystalline energy materialize at Tanisha's will. This ability allows her to summon intricate structures, weapons of unique design, or even beings made entirely of crystalline energy.
Seitoshi no subete ga kesshō-ka shita kesshō hime no tamashī (生と死のすべてが結晶化した結晶姫の魂, The Soul Of The Crystalline Princess, Life And Death Has Been Crystallized): Tanisha gains the power to encase her opponents' souls in crystal, effectively immobilizing them and rendering their abilities useless. Additionally, she can channel the energy of these crystallized souls to enhance her own strength and speed, making her a formidable force on the battlefield. However, the true mastery of her Bankai lies in its ability to purify corrupted souls, restoring balance to the spiritual realm and bringing peace to both the living and the deceased.
Weaknesses:
Hearing Requirement : For the 5th technique, Suishō no oto to work, the technique should be used on opponents who can hear well. This technique will not work if the opponent in question is deaf.
Trivia:
Tanisha told Aizen she'd free him from Muken on one condition; if he'd marry her. This was because Tanisha being initially detached from emotions, hadn't felt emotion in a while until her meetings with Aizen whenever she'd guard against him and because Aizen would manipulate her feelings and desires, she felt clueless to navigate these emotions again, but she knew she'd be able to explore her feelings with Aizen if he were to stay by her side. In return, she offered him freedom and liberation from Isolation in Muken.
Tanisha nicknamed Kai by "Sosuke Jr." Aria the name, "Natori" and Silvie the name, "Cherine".
Tanisha was referred to be the "Warden Of Muken," more than "Warden Of The Central Underground Prison," as she was only guarding Muken, as the other levels of the prison were clear of criminals. This is also why Tanisha only carried the Muken Jūkyū no Kagi (無間十九の鍵, Nineteen keys of Muken.)
As a child, hearing stories of Sōsuke Aizen from her father, a younger tanisha would come to the conclusion of Aizen being a lonely individual that was lost in his pursuit of power, she claimed he sounds like a lost bear cub, therefore playfully nicknaming Aizen, "Mayoguma".
Tanisha's childhood role models were Ryuken Ishida and Uryu Ishida, who inspired Tanisha to pursue her medical studies and eventually, her career as a doctor.
The theme song chosen for Tanisha is 'I' by artist Taeyeon.
