I cannot believe I'm doing this but Y'all need to check out The Holiday Sitter. Yes it's a Hallmark movie. An absolutely adorable gay Hallmark movie. Is the acting hmm not great? Yes. Are the tropes *chef's kiss? Also yes.

The plot is workaholic uncle (not good with kids) gets asked to babysit his niece and nephew while their parents go out of town to pick up adopted baby 4 days before Christmas. Meets cute neighbor who has 18 nieces and nephews (is good with kids). Cute neighbor helps uncle with kids and teaches him how to cook. Lots of heart eyes ensue.

PS there is zero homophobia in this movie

you know what? I love cheesy Hallmark movies. I truly do. I have a great time watching them, and frequently react emotionally right on queue.

A Hallmark cheesy romance that reflects even a tiny bit of my (white, cis) queer experience? Hits even harder. WE GOT A GAY HALLMARK MOVIE!! THEY KISSED!! THERE WAS A MEDDLING FAMILY!! THERE WERE KIDS!! THERE WAS PHYSICAL HUMOR!! JASON GOT SAM A SWEATER BECAUSE HE REMEMBERED SAM MENTIONING THAT HE WASN’T REALLY EQUIPPED FOR A NORTHEAST WINTER!! SAM CALLED THE HOUSE “HOME” WHEN TELLING JASON TO HURRY!! THEY HUMMED SILENT NIGHT AND JASON STARTED SINGING AND WHEN SAM SLIPPED HIS HAND INTO HIS JASON’S VOICE HITCHED!!! THEY BAKED TOGETHER!!! I DON’T KNOW WHY I’M SO EMOTIONAL EXCEPT I DO AND I LOVED IT

I enjoyed the lgbtq+ Hallmark movies playing in the middle of the night while everyone else was asleep.

I really appreciate the conversation that Sam and Kathleen had towards the end, about how marriage and kids were always an option for her but not for him because he's gay. and then to have their entire families celebrating them! I loved it so much!
