S.VI - Ep.12: Grand Design

-------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. FALLEN COLONY – Lab Sites - NIGHT

-Fade in-

Gate stares at his monitor in fear. Zero has just defeated Blaze Phoenix and X has destroyed another Nightmare Portal.

GATE: (panicking) This is.. horrible! Not only is he back, but he’s made short work of Infinity Flea and Blaze Phoenix like they were nothing!! How…? How did he get so strong??

Isoc steps into the room.

ISOC: That would be the Nightmare’s doing.

GATE: (gasping) Isoc!

ISOC: (shrugging, acceptant) He did create it after all…

GATE: We created it!

ISOC: His Virus was the source. You know that better than anyone…

GATE: Hmph…. How are you so.. nonchalant about all this? Aren’t you afraid that he’ll come after us??

ISOC: (grinning) Oh no… I have a theory.

[INSERT TITLE CARD - Grand Design]

INT. MAGMA AREA – Blaze Phoenix’s Lair - DAY

--------------------------------------------------------------------

X nods to Zero, ready to beam out and go home.

ZERO: Wait, before we go…

He spots a green Nightmare Soul left behind from Blaze Phoenix’s core and grabs it. Zero absorbs the power into his own core as his eyes glow orange for a second.

ZERO: We can’t let these fall into the wrong hands.

X: (nodding) Right!

Zero takes another second to walk over to the fallen Phoenix and rips out the weapon chip from his decaying core.

ZERO: …There. Now we can go.

The two share a smirk before teleporting home.

INT. MHHQ BUNKER – Control Area – DAY

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The triumphant battle-weary heros appear in the middle of the room, by Signas’ console. They are both war-torn, but otherwise fine.

SIGNAS: Nice work, you two!!

ZERO: (nodding) Thanks, boss.

X: (saluting) Sir…

They both wearily nod and salute him as they walk over to Alia’s Console. On their way over to her, Zero looks at X with respect.

ZERO: Here, /catch.

He /throws the enemy’s weapon chip at X, which surprises him.

X, /catches it with a mild smile on his face.

X: Huh? /Oh… Actually, I’ve got something for you too..

ZERO: Hm?

He fumbles around in his compartment belt and returns the gesture by /throwing him the new Sub-tank he just found.

X: Here…. /catch.

Zero catches it and looks at the gift with gratitude.

Once at her console, Alia turns around with a satisfied smile.

ALIA: Very good, Gentlemen. Now that you’re back… Let’s debrief!

Zero rolls his eyes.

ZERO: Always with the debriefing…

Alia looks at Zero, annoyed.

ALIA: Uhh, Yeah we’re debriefing… It’s called - Doing My Job? Hellooo!

X: (beaming, amused) Ahahahaahah.

Zero shakes his head and cracks half of a smile.

ZERO: (smirking,) …Alriiight, alriiiight ya got me…

Mid-laughter X suddenly panics.

X: Oh no! Wait!! What about that Reploid? I completely forgot about him.

ALIA: Don’t worry. When you came back from the Pocket Dimension, another Reploid appeared at the Settlement. That must have been him.

X: (relieved) Okay, good.

ALIA: Speaking of which, who was in that Portal?

X: You’re not gonna believe this. It was Vile.

ALIA & ZERO: What!?

X: I don’t know…. He didn’t seem real. Someone must be messing with me.

ZERO: Well that’s gotta be the Nightmare at work…

X: Even less-so. Your Nightmare Counterpart had that Purple Virus Color we both love so much. This one was more of a faded blueish gray. He was also very weak.

ZERO: Well, maybe that means that the Virus is wearing off!

The two look at him, spooked.

ZERO: N-Nightmare Energy…. Whatever this is!

Alia walks over to X and.

ALIA: Hmm, well that’s another mystery we’ll have to figure out later. As for this power set…

She takes the new chip and walks it over to her computer.

ALIA: This, we can examine!

She runs an analytics test. The monitor displays a grid-like image of a generic reploid figure swiping a burning saber.

ALIA: It looks like you got Magma Blade! Good job!! It emits a wide-ranged blade of fireballs from a Saber.

X shakes his head.

X: It’s unearned… You should use it, Zero.

Zero shakes his head.

ZERO: No need. I’ve learned how to use his Shoenzan from our battle!

With a quick diagonal swipe, Zero shows them a new menacing saber, engulfed in flames. He creates a short wall of fire, similar to Blaze Phoenix’s winged fire-clap, but more contained.

DOUGLAS: (nervous, troubled) HEEY, EASY!!

Douglas runs over to them from his Console, worried and annoyed.

Zero extinguishes the flame just as soon as he creates it and sheathes the saber into his back.

DOUGLAS: Could you not do that indoors, please? I spent a long time making this place operational…

ZERO: Relax, Doug. I’ve got it under control…

DOUGLAS: (muttering) Hmph…. wreckless..

X and Alia both look each other wide-eyed for a second. Then they both choose to shake their heads and move on.

ALIA: U-uh anyway…. I should give you some more background on Blaze Phoenix before we close his file.

X: Yes, let’s proceed.

X gives Zero a disapproving glare for a second.

ALIA: Blaze Phoenix was an Ex-Investigator of the Earth’s Hot Spots. His ability was far beyond any of the other members on our Team. Even Turtloid couldn’t examine these climates, but Phoenix was our solution. He could research any area that was dangerously hot without fear, but the problem was that his teammates couldn’t keep up. During the Great Repliforce War, his Team had investigated Burn Dino-Rex at the Sunhouse Mountain long before you, Zero…

ZERO: (shocked) Really!!?

-FLASH-

—————————————————————————- INT. SUNHOUSE MOUNTAIN – Deep Pit – DAY —————————————————————————-

Blaze Phoenix leads the way with an eager grin on his face as a fantastic wave of flames surrounds his entire body.

ALIA: (v.o, narrating) Yes. His team made it as far as the Lava Tunnels. Do you remember that?

Far behind the flames, Allen, Glen and Ron struggle to keep up as their bodies are perspiring from the intense levels of heat in the pit.

ZERO: (v.o, reacting) Oh my God, I hated that…

The whole area begins to rumble. The giant tunnel shakes as rocks can be heard crashing down beneath them.

ALIA: (v.o, narrating) So did they…

RON: What the-?

A Researcher turns around and widens his gaze immediately at a huge stream of lava, as tall as the entire tunnel around them.

RON: Oh God!!

2 others turn around, frightened to see the huge wall of lava coming for them.

RESEARCHERS: AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

The wave engulfs all three of them entirely. Their bodies disintegrate instantly upon contact.

ALIA: (v.o, narrating) All the others who fell behind died needlessly...

From far ahead, Blaze Phoenix crashes through a wall with an aura of flame around him. He barely hears the faint sound of screaming, which makes him only slightly turn his head.

Then, he notices a giant wall of lava headed straight for him.

BLAZE PHOENIX: Hm!?

-Fade to Orange-

Upon an orange background, she narrates.

ALIA: (v.o, narrating) When he came home, he was punished and thrown into quarantine.

-dissolve to-

————————————————————— INT. LAYE LABS – Probation Bunker – NIGHT —————————————————————

A charred and recovering Blaze Phoenix rests in a chamber that is only slightly comfier than a jail cell.

ALIA: (v.o, narrating) Ultimately, it was decided that in order to prevent any more victims from getting hurt, he would be disposed of and buried deep underground.

His cell door opens as he continues to sleep on a bench.

ZERO: (v.o, responding) How…?

A Reploid with a large cannon in hand walks up to him and places the weapon directly into his open beak.

ALIA: (v.o, narrating) Boulder Gun to the mouth while he was sleeping…. It got ugly…

-flash-

A large boulder is generated from the weapon, instantly crushing Blaze Phoenix’s skull from the inside. Blood spurts all across the wall and onto Victor’s chest, who shakes it off and wipes his weapon clean.

-FLASH-

INT. MHHQ BUNKER – Control Area – DAY

--------------------------------------------------------------------

X and Zero look at Alia horrified.

X: Whoaaa!

ZERO: Brutal…. No wonder Gate lost it…

ALIA: Hmph. It’s really hard to tell who was right in hindsight…. But he was definitely dealt an unfair hand. Ugh, God that place was so toxic…

Alia winces and looks down with a hard feeling of guilt.

X: Heeeeey. You okay??

He immediately walks up to her and puts two comforting hands on her shoulders.

With tightly closed eyes she nods and sniffles it off, trying to maintain her composure.

ALIA: Yeah, I… I’m fine. It’s just a lot.

X: I know hun. We’ve all been through a lot…

He places a loving forehead against hers and they both take a slow deep breath together.

ZERO: Uhhhhh, is this still part of the debrief…?

Alia looks at X and grits her teeth. Then she takes a breath and looks at Zero with a sly simper.

ALIA: Hmph… ya got me.

ZERO: If I didn’t know any better… It looks like X, has got you. Hey, are you two…?

ALIA: That’s None of your Business!!!!

X blushes.

ZERO: Oh-o Maaaan! Woooooooow. I really Did miss a lot while I was out.

X: Come on, Man. That’s enough.

ALIA: Alriiiiiight, alright. Let’s keep it Professional. We’re done here.

ZERO: Hahahahaha, okaay…

X gives Zero two side-eyes with a half-grimace, feeling embarrassed.

Alia pets her hair and smirks at them with a slight blush.

ALIA: (grinning, smug) You both look like hot garbage. Get cleaned up and spend the night in the Settlement. I think it’ll be good for both of you.

ZERO: (confused) Huh?

X: (smiling, thoughtful) Hm.

-cut to-

INT. FALLEN COLONY – Lab Sites – NIGHT

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Gate and Isoc continue their troublesome discussion.

GATE: So what are we supposed to do now… just wait until he miraculously comes around? I don’t think that’s a very sound idea.

ISOC: We’ll follow through with the Contingency Plan until such events fall into our favor.

GATE: That’s crazy! It’s not working!! Dynamo is unreliable and that Resurrection was too weak!! What the Hell was that???

ISOC: …Something to keep X busy, like you asked…

GATE: Hrrrgh, it’s not good enough!

ISOC: I’ll get Dynamo to come around. Don’t worry.

GATE: (panicking) How can I not!?? Zero suddenly came back, stronger than ever and he’s tearing this whole thing apart!!!

Isoc hides a wicked smile and takes a breath.

ISOC: I know it may seem Counter-Intuitive, but the more he consumes the Nightmare, the better off we are.

GATE: (frustrated) How!? It will only make him stronger!!

ISOC: Yes. And then he’ll become an Omega-Level threat once again. X and the Public will turn on him. They will force his hand and once he Finally crosses that line… Then, my friend… he will see that our visions are aligned.

Gate looks at him wide-eyed.

GATE: You’re a Mad Man. You’re putting a lot of faith into a hypothesis that we don’t even know is feasible!

ISOC: Oh, it’s possible. I know how he thinks…. And when he’s backed into a corner, he will cut through anyone. Even his closest of friends.

GATE: That’s a very dangerous game you’re playing…

Isoc makes an evil grin. Gate shakes his head.

GATE: No, I have a much better idea. It’s time to tip the scale in my favor…. It’s time to send in High Max.

INT. HEXAGON STATION – Reploid Settlement – NIGHT

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Zero walks with X down the main steps of the reformed Train Station. It is now a Recovery Hub for Homeless and Injured Reploids.

ZERO: So this is the Reploid Settlement..?

X nods.

X: Yeah. It got really scary out there after your Shuttle Mission had… failed.

Zero frowns and looks away.

X: Local Mavericks turned up from around every corner and a lot of sacrifices were made…

X clears his throat.

X: But that was a while ago, already. Once we got a semblance of control to the city, we noticed that the survivors naturally flocked over to here. So, we decided to help them as best as we could.

ZERO: That’s really great, man.

X nods and smiles.

X: (proud) This… is who we fight for. It’s a constant reminder that we need to get back out there and do better. Every day.

Zero looks at X, stunned. Once again, he has done a lot of growing up in his absence.

Just then, a cute reploid that shares X’s likeness in blue armor walks up to them.

LEVY: Hey, X!! I was wondering when you’d grace us with your presence again.

She gives him a hug.

X: Eh heh heh.. Hey, Lev. How’ve you been holding up?

LEVY: Really good. Your friends are awesome! Especially that new Fire Guy.

She thumbs over to Fef, who is mingling with Kassy, Regina, Iso, Data and Araki.

X: (smiling) Glad to see everyone’s getting along…

LEVY: Oh yeah. I’ve been training with the others and everyone’s been /really /Welcoming.

She /punches the /air with both fists in a cute way while making eyes at him. Zero gives her and X a strange look.

LEVY: (flirty) Any chance, we’ll get to spar again soon???

X: Ahh.. n-no. We’re just here to recover and catch up for the night. But now that we’ve got Zero back, maybe the two of you could-

LEVY: Hmph! Passing me off to the Nightmare!? I know who you are…. You’re the one who caused this whole mess!! Under normal circumstances, it’d be an honor, but frankly… you can go to Hell.

She walks off in a huff.

Zero looks at X and rolls his eyes.

ZERO: So much for getting along……

They both walk on towards Lifesaver’s Med Car.

X: Ah, don’t listen to her. She’ll come around.

When they pass by Fef’s group, the reploids all look at Zero in awe and fear.

ZERO: I don’t really care, if I’m honest…. I just want to get better and get back out there.

X frowns as they make it to Lifesaver’s car.

-------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. REPLOID SETTLEMENT – Med Cars – NIGHT --------------------------------------------------------------------

X and Zero step inside the car to see Hanse and Hal sitting with the charred Tekk. Lifesaver is tending to him.

HANSE & HAL: (nervous, scared) Ah-hh… Z-z-Zero!!

X: (annoyed) Relax, guys. He’s with me. He’s on our side…

Zero folds his arms and turns his back to them in a huff. They instantly see his burn marks from the Magma Area.

Tekk tilts his head and smiles at Zero.

TEKK: H..h-hey.. Zzeerroooo…

ZERO: Save your strength, Tekk. You’re no good to us, dead.

TEKK: (nodding, weak) rr..riigghhht…

He curls up and goes back to sleep.

Lifesaver looks at them with a stern face and walks over to X.

LIFESAVER: Gentlemen… What can I do for you??

X: We need a recovery bunk for the night.

LIFESAVER: Ohhh. Finally taking my advice and giving it a rest, I see. Come on…. Right this way.

He grabs some gear and leads them to another car, internally.

-cut to-

-------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. MED CARS – Recovery Bunk – NIGHT --------------------------------------------------------------------

The wounded legends are led to two padded gurneys, which lie at both walls of the car, across from each other. Lifesaver Prime and two assisting clones set the both of them up with IV wires, energen packs and light sedatives, which will ensure a smooth night without incident.

Zero gives Lifesaver an untrusting look, once stuck with the needle.

LIFESAVER: Oh, don’t worry. It’s a light dose of Repli-tonin. This’ll just take off the edge, so your body can focus on recovering faster. That’s what you want, don’t you?

ZERO: Hmph… I guess.

X: Thank you, Lifesaver.

He smiles at X.

LIFESAVER: Very good. I’ll have a clone check up on you later.

He and the clones exit the car. The last one out, turns off the light and shuts the door, finally leaving them to their privacy.

The glow of their red and blue head gems illuminate in the darkness as X and Zero recover together.

INT. ABEL CITY – Dynamo’s Apartment – NIGHT

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Dynamo stands by a window and watches over the barren city from high up.

DYNAMO: (v.o, thinking) Man I miss this City! …What have I done? The bustling streets, the unsleeping crowds, the traffic at night…. Tearing it down was a lot of fun, but what was the point? Everything’s so Boring!

Out of nowhere, from a distance, Dynamo can see a faint shadow amongst the night sky flying towards him.

DYNAMO: Hm? What the-??

High Max bursts through his apartment window and grabs him by the neck.

HIGH MAX: I’ve Found You!!!

DYNAMO: AAGgghhkkk…. What the Hell??

He tries to fight back, but is flown into his couch and blasted 4 times at close range.

DYNAMO: AAGHH.

He tries to get up, but is instantly kicked right back down into the couch.

HIGH MAX: Stay down…. I have a message for you from Isoc.

DYNAMO: Ughh, what does He want?? Is he sad that I didn’t return his calls???

HIGH MAX: Hmph…. He wants you to know that you have one more chance to make things right. Otherwise, you can forget about your Payment and the Luxury of Life altogether!

DYNAMO: Agghh…. Tell him, I need more time. X really got me good, last time.

HIGH MAX: Not my problem…

DYNAMO: I’m gonna get stronger… I just need to sleep this off and collect more Nightmare Souls. That’s all. I promise!

HIGH MAX: Hmph…. You have 24 hours…

DYNAMO: O-okay. Thank you!

High Max folds his arms and flies backward out from the window he came in. He threateningly locks eyes with Dynamo the entire time with a stoic grimace.

- Cut to -

INT. MED CARS – Recovery Bunk - NIGHT

--------------------------------------------------------------------

After a brief period of silence, X turns to his partner.

X: Hey, I’ve been meaning to ask you…. How did you get that new saber?

ZERO: I created a new one while I was hiding out.

X: Huh? You’ve never been tech savvy, before..

ZERO: Heh…. When it comes to my stuff, you’ll find that I’m full of surprises.

X: Hm… Where were you all this time, anyway?

ZERO: Well… I don’t remember a lot of it, to be honest. Reserve Processors must have blocked it out until I was safer…. But what I do remember is that by the time I rebuilt my arm and legs, I was hunkered down in a cave somewhere.

X: A cave…? That’s it??

ZERO: Yeah, man. I dunno. I was on the move, constantly roaming around not fully sure of where I was, exactly. I kept looking for.. better parts. I tried to rebuild from scraps… turning junk into… something that could interface with my system.

X gives Zero a look of disbelief.

X: …Uh.. I’m sorry, but… Your story doesn’t add up, Man. Why are you being so secretive…?

ZERO: What do you mean?? I’m not-

X: Come on. After all these years, I know you better than anyone. I can tell when you’re lying to me… which is upsetting. …What is it that you’re hiding??

ZERO: (sighing) Look, the truth is I don’t know…. And it scares me. Honestly, I just remember a cave and having a new saber. I was fully rebuilt with no idea how I got there and no idea where I was.

X: Oh…. Well no need to hide that from me.. Why don’t you trust me?

ZERO: In fairness, you haven’t trusted me for a while. …And I’ve given you no reason to.

X: You always have my back in the Field. That should be reason enough.

ZERO: But it’s really not… Is it?

X: (hesitating) …We don’t need to get into this now…

ZERO: No, we really do. It’s time, Man. Speak your mind…

X: (sighing) Well… you’ve always been a guarded person, which I’ve come to expect over time. But… my Damn Memory plays tricks on me, now...

ZERO: Ever since Dr. Light… found you?

X: Yup. Now I don’t remember which Zero helped me grow up and learn to fight back anymore…. The cocky, headstrong idol or the jaded, corrupt Maverick…

Zero closes his eyes and winces, ashamed.

ZERO: It’s been both, Man. The whole time, I’ve been fighting something.

X tears up.

X: And somehow, I already Know that! And yet it’s news to me, now. Can you imagine how frightening that is??

ZERO: I’ve lived it. How do you think I felt in Antarctica?

X: …You scared the Hell out of me in Antarctica. You weren’t acting like yourself at all.

ZERO: Actually, I was…. All of my inhibitions were gone.

X: Don’t start that up again!

ZERO: (sighing) I don’t Care about the Prophecy anymore, dude. Me sitting here with you should be living proof of that.

X: But now we both know we were designed to kill each other…

ZERO: Fuck that. I don’t care about their Grand Design.

X gasps, relieved as warm tears escape from his eyes. Then, he makes a wry smile.

X: Always fighting against your own Destiny, to the bitter end, huh??

ZERO: (smiling) You know it.

X: So, in that case, I do have to ask this. What’s your End Goal, now? …What are you fighting for…?

ZERO: Come on, do you really have to ask that??

X: I mean it, Zero. If I’m ever going to fully trust you again, I need to know your motives.

ZERO: Ugh. After the Shuttle Mission Failed, I just want a sense of Normalcy… Even if it’s unattainable. Maybe I just want to hurt people for making the World this way. Get some of this frustration out…

X: I’d hate to say it, but I think you made the World this way…

Zero gasps and scowls with a grimace.

ZERO: Is it ‘cause of what that… fan girl said?

X smirks for a second.

X: Who, Levy? No… …Alia told me that your signal still doesn’t read as Data. So… what are you?

Zero shakes his head and takes a breath.

ZERO: It’s just as it was before. This is my Original Data. It’s not Maverick and it’s not even Evil. It’s just… Me.

X: Hmph.

ZERO: Not good enough for you?

X: What about the Nightmare Souls? What are they supposed to be??

ZERO: Well… They’re pieces of my Soul, actually.

X becomes wide-eyed.

X: What!!?

ZERO: I don’t know how they exist… Or even how I exist! But… somehow, the Virus Energy manifested itself into the Nightmare and was contained into these little orbs.

X: Sounds kind of like the Erasure Experiment…

Zero becomes wide-eyed.

ZERO: On steroids.

X: That explains how you’re becoming so powerful, I guess… I’m worried though.

ZERO: About what..?

X: (hypothesizing) You were revived Zero… No doubt about it. But by who…? And for what reason? …If you absorb too many of those Nightmare Souls, I wonder… Will you end up like you did back at the Colony??

ZERO: (scared) I don’t know…

X: Can you contain it this time…?

ZERO: (worried) I don’t know!

X takes a deep breath and closes his eyes.

X: Then that’s a problem…

ZERO: When this is all over, I want Lifesaver to do a full work-up on my internals. One way or another, we’re gonna figure this out, Man.

X nods.

X: I like the sound of that.

Zero cringes in pain with a heavy head of guilt.

ZERO: (hurting, guilty) X…. I’m so sorry that I hurt you. Not just Antarctica or Laguz Island. I’m sorry for all of it!

X: (surprised) Zero…

ZERO: (regretful, ruminating) How I acted during the Great Repliforce War, my reckless attack on Dr. Doppler, which nearly got us all killed… All you went through with the X-Hunters for me… and my unconventional field-training methods during the Rebellion, before that! I’m always putting you in danger. All this time, I’ve been pressuring you to do things My Way and-

X: I forgive you…!

ZERO: Huh??

X: Zero, all those experiences helped shape me into who I am today. All the Good and the Bad…. And now that I know I can trust you.. None of it matters anymore. I mean that.

ZERO: But this Nightmare has been killing you…. That’s on me too…

X: (sighing) This Nightmare’s been killing all of us…. But now that you’re here to help, we’re finally starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Now let’s get some rest. We’re gonna have a lot of work to do when we get up.

Zero smiles at his best friend, who closes his eyes and rests with a peaceful face that he hasn’t seen in a while. This causes Zero to let out a deep sigh and close his eyes. Before long, he is lulled to sleep with a more complacent face as well.

ZERO: (v.o, thinking) Maybe… things are gonna turn out alright, this time…

-fade to-

INT. MHHQ BUNKER - Control Area – DAY

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Caption - December 30th, the next morning.

A well-rested X walks over to Alia’s console with a cheerful smile on his face.

X: Good Morning, Beautiful.

ALIA: Hey there, sunshine!

He gives her a kiss on the lips. She smiles at him and turns back to her monitor.

ALIA: How was your sleep last night? Just what the doctor ordered?

X: And then some! /I feel better than ever.

He /stretches his arm and twists his torso, cricking his neck and looking refreshed.

ALIA: Hehe, good. Where’s Zero??

X: Heheh.. That lug is still sleeping. But that’s fine. It’ll give me time to catch up to him later.

She nods and gives him a thoughtful look.

ALIA: I see. So, you’ve settled it? You seem.. really at Peace today.

X: (smiling) Heh... We discussed just about everything we could last night, and... I guess I’m just really relieved about how it all went. I’m definitely satisfied with the outcome.

She nods and offers a genuine smile.

ALIA: Good! You deserve some Peace of Mind more than anyone else...

X: And what about you...?

ALIA: ...I still might have some reservations, but... if you know that you can trust him, then that’s good enough for me. I trust you...

X: Inami Temple. It’s beyond time to follow up on the Reploids I left behind…

Alia offers a worried grimace.

ALIA: Okaaaaay. Just be careful.

X: I know…

She pulls up their Mission Select screen, clicks on Rainy Turtloid’s black and white mugshot and punches in the coordinates. In another moment, he teleports away.

INT. INAMI TREE – Meditation Room - DAY

--------------------------------------------------------------------

X is teleported directly inside the Inami Tree, at the ground level, where a jagged tunnel of spikes can be seen. It is still raining.

In a flash of light, he transforms into his Blade Armor and slowly walks up to the tunnel trap.

X sighs.

X: Here goes nothing…

He crouches down and carefully amplifies the gears within his boots. After a moment of prepping, he launches himself directly through the tunnel, narrowly avoiding the spikes above and below him. In an instant, he bashes into the wall, with his hands out and brakes on his heels. He has made it to the other side. Above him, the ominous portal awaits him.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Now, remember. Once you jump through that portal, we’ll lose contact. I won’t be able to see or hear anything from your end until you get back.

X: (nodding) I know…. Here I go!

ALIA: Be carefuuuul!!!!

X jumps into the portal and smiles at the sound of her voice, before suddenly disappearing.

INT. POCKET DIMENSION – Rainy Entrapment – DAY

--------------------------------------------------------------------

X appears inside the trap from out of thin-air, whereupon he immediately spots a curative platform while getting rained on.

X: Hmph…. Just as I thought. This isn’t the same area.

Just across the way from a similar gap in the room, a Monbando Unit looks at him and smirks.

MONBANDO: Weeeell… Look, who finally decided to show…

X: Hm!?

MONBANDO: I’m afraid you’re a little late, my friend.

Just then, an infected reploid peers out from behind the Mechaniloid. She looks at him, driven with hatred.

X: Oh no!!

MONBANDO: And now it’s time that you Suffer the Consequences!!!

From out of nowhere, three other infected reploids reveal themselves from the platforms below him.

X takes out his saber and breathes heavily.

At once, all 4 Infected Reploids dive after him and he is forced to defend himself.

X: GOD DAAAAAMN IIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!

Jumping after them, he performs his Double Wave Giga Attack for the first time with regret. All of the Infected Reploids shatter to pieces at once.

Axl's First Exciting Mission

((Hey guys. Today, in going to create a new fan fic today that an idea has flown towards my face. It's about a teenage prototype named Axl, who's very thrilled about the new mission that awaits him, but doesn't really know yet due to the mysterious yet similar maverick hidden within the underground basement of Maverick Hunter HQ that X has warned him about. So again, this story contains yaoi and I understand that it made you uncomfortable. However, if you're a fan, then welcome aboard. Without further ado, please enjoy this fiction. 😊))

Abel City. One of the most clearest town state of all, home of the inhabitants of Earth filled with humans and reploids altogether with meek, sided along of peace. No matter the differences, negligence or other, everyone who is new to the city are freshly more than welcome to live alongside all individuals. Before the roaring stampede of Mavericks would attempt to ruin tranquility, commanded by the gruesome but merciless overlord formerly known as the commander of the Maverick Hunters created by Dr. Cain, Sigma. During the reconnaissance given by his creator to locate the dangerous red maverick, the unstoppable Wily Virus have taken control or finds its way within his core, reestablish the morality. Forcing him to surrender to its power succumbing everything belonging to him, erased right quickly. The growling aura shouts, unleashing the new and improved villain to all who have feared more than their own weaknesses. Gathered up several more irregulars to make an army, destroying the town, killing a few humans, painting the whole planet with his dreams bursting into reality of rearranging a new world for only the strong and powerful reploids to rule. However, it was interrupted by the dynamic duo, X and Zero, shutting down the false fantasy by defeating 8 bosses including the crazed menace. Time and time again. No matter how he would return with more of his invincible forms due to his manipulation of other reploids such Dr. Doppler, Repliforce, Gate, and the rest, the irregular busting crime stoppers will always put an end to his wretched schemes for a new life. After his defeat, tranquility has regain its colors once more, the meaningless conflict between robots and humanity have been silenced. All thanks to the hopeful hunters that every civilization will always look up to.

Not only if there were two that could battle against more threats other than the malicious maverick king, but another hero that arrives to the scene. One that possesses such a great ability like no other being. A compassionate soul so young, lacking maturity yet not the interest of helping those in need when it comes to danger. His name is Axl. Armor themed of the navy blue color striped of red lines, detailed with an X shaped scar across the face by an unknown accident, spiky upward hair and helmet design with a camera lens type inside the crystal. Left the group called Red Alert by his decision on his own to become a hunter due to the view of his friends and scythe wielding leader Red changing their desires of using the briefcase full of chips stolen from Sheeda and the boss for power. Chased by a large mechaniloid, met and teamed up with the crimson sword slasher by taking it down, mistakenly arrested, refused by the indigo pacifist of being or becoming a full pledged hunter, facing off his old colleagues and Red, dueling with the previous mastermind from the beginning and saved the earth again. Still refused, an emergency has been briefed by the blonde navigator, calling to the young gun shooter to race into action.

A new generation built by a blue print, enhanced with the special kind of item known as the Copy Chip. With it, it access the DNA of all reploids even to resist various types of pestilence from every corner. Sadly, the least have chosen to become corrupted as a maverick, including the flesh hating ex commander, at will. None of them have ever experienced such a miracle bestowed upon them. But it doesn't mean that they're immortal. The generation have the same mortality as a few reploids and human alike, making them quite special within their own way possible. Posing them, including the youngster, as hopes of the future as well as protectors. For the land will relax in meekfulness while the heroes do the rest.

Somewhere at Hunter Base, a secret government domain of skilled hunters, the autumn hair youngling rests around the table with legs crossed, seating into the chair slightly bored after the war has ended. Blowing a mist of a sigh. Sure there are no crimes of fire that would be happening right now, but nothing very exciting could ever seek for his attention. For he is lingering in his own boredom by daydreaming.

"Man... This is so boring... Couldn't there be anything fun around here for me do so I wouldn't die in my own sleep?" Groaned the teenage prototype, tilting the side of his head against the hand. Slowly collapsing into a tired state until the Class A expert would arrive at his direction, folding his arms.

"Listen, Axl. I know that you're furiously bored cause of no casualties or invading threats coming to screw up everyone's day, but you have to learn to be patient and let disaster come to us first when duty calls." He explained.

"I know... But it's just no fun sitting around the base to do ABSOLUTELY nothing. Sigh... This is lame..." He griped silently.

"We get it, kiddo. There isn't a speck of villainy around these parts, but It's not the end of the world that quickly, ya know."

"Well.... I guess you're right, Zero. Don't know why I was whining about since we took care of that maverick jerkface. I mean, the three of us, taking the toll on him."

"Heh. I know, and you even single handedly knocked out Sigma with your special copy ability to save our asses. "

"Darn right! Heh. He didn't know what hit him! Thanks to you guys, the legendary Maverick Hunters!"

"No, kid. Thank YOU. Without your help, we would've been dead right now. You're the real hero that the world needs."

"You think so?"

"I know so. But you still got a lot to learn when you're a hunter. Facing with tougher baddies, saving the innocents and all that."

"You got it, boss! Thanks again." Grinned Axl.

"Anytime."

Both of them stare into their peers for just a moment until the reploid teen would lean closer, accidentally deepens the long haired senior with a longing kiss. Laying his hands onto his cheek when he blush with surprised.

"Mmmph?!"

"Mmmm... Mmmmm..."

"Mmmmmph...!"

"Mmmm... Hmm?! Oh shoot! Sorry Zero!" He pulled himself away.

"Axl! What the hell are you doing?! We're not supposed to be doing something inappropriate in public!" He angrily flustered.

"Oops... He he... My bad... Didn't know what got over me."

"Ugh... Look, just try to control yourself, OK? Cause it's getting too weird. And by the way, X told me about an unknown maverick yesterday."

"Really? There's a new bad guy?"

"Mhmm. He was incredibly dangerous. Not to mention as a vampiric version."

"A vampire?"

"Yes. The creature of the night that drinks the blood of mortals to survive, like in the movies. But this baddie is different. He possess as an incubus of some sort. Flirting with woman both reploid and human at once. Or perhaps secretly someone else... Acted very sultry as his personality, but enhanced with an elemental use. Like ice for starters."

"Whoa... Is he really dangerous?"

"Precisely. He had both vampire and incubus personas. But a calming expression. Also with sneaky eyes."

"Wow.... "

Furthermore, he continuously explains more of the mysterious figure's tricks and powerful elements aiding his claws, warning the rookie about what he could do anyone with the unavoidable "secret weapon" that he tells X and crew. Unlike the young gun slinger, everyone is quite aware of this deadly strategy.

"Is that so?" He asked.

"Yes. It's something that no other reploid would escape from. Once being controlled, there's no chance of resisting against it before the..." Unable to say the rest of the sentence it out loud, he finish it by speaking into the kid's earport. Then made him jump of shock.I

"NO WAY! He seduces them?!"

"Not so loud. But yes. He performs a sexual lip locking with females of all kinds. Endlessly."

"Holy crap.... And I thought that a succubus would do the same thing to a guy."

"Yeah. Plus, he would even get a taste of their bodies if necessary..."

"Ewww..."

"But anyway, there's nothing to worry about it now. We've already sealed him underneath the containment basement built with preventable locks." He assured to the wild child, patting his shoulder. "So all is well."

"Heh. Guess so. I was getting a little frantic there. Say, what if he would do the same to me?" He said curiously. But on the inside, quite scared.

"Come on, Axl. There's no way that he would get to you. Or is there?* Smirked the golden headed saber wielder, teasing him.

"Uh oh...."

"Oh, I'm just yanking your chains. So long as you stay put, far away from that containment cell. I'm counting you to remain on your post. Understood?"

"Yes sir! I'll try my best!" He saluted.

"Good. I'll be in the meeting room. Do your best, Axl." Ordered Zero as he nodded.

"You got it!"

"One more thing... If anything happens when you're in danger, be sure to contact me or X by the earport."

"Roger that!"

"Oh. And one last thing..." He went up to the energetic teen boy, grabs him by the head to return the sinking kiss aggressively.

"Mmmph!!"

"Mmmmmmmmmwah. There. Now we're even."

"Ack! *Cough cough* Geez, Zero! Guess that'll teach me a lesson!"

"Just giving back the favor. Try to continue your duty, got that?" He chuckled teasingly, before leaving for a meeting.

"Yes sir...." Spat the young begginer.

With the examination talk aside, he walked off to attend a meeting with other hunters and navigators. But, then stopped for a pondering solution just for the lad in dark blue due to the kiss. Stood there into the middle of the hall, he felt the affected warmth melting away the coldness by touching his lips. Even though he haven't experienced nor practice empathy towards anyone but to his friends that he deeply trusts before.

"Huh... What is this weird tingling that I'm getting? Sure it was an accident, but... it feels so soft... And tense..." He imagined. "Hmm... Maybe the kiss wasn't such a bad accident after all. Actually, it's kinda hot too... Mmmm... Axl... He really is a good kid, even though his immaturity annoys the hell outta me a little." Smiling slowly from the straight stern written on his face, the idea has driven to his mind for a moment. Granting him the opportunity to pose as dangerous yet sexy winged maverick for his young friend to "fight off" with. He quickly walks into the room while no one is looking, morphing his original armor into an Absolute transformation to act as the unknown maverick.

"He he he... Perhaps I'll give the brave little hunter a special solo mission he'll never forget~ A chilling "battle", that is~" He plotted. Cycling his tongue around the pale lips, tasting the smooching marks led by the novice hunter from the former organization of assassins. For a surprise trick will never fail to get the jump on him.

Meanwhile, outside into the garden fields behind HQ during midnight, the emerald eyed gun blaster is relaxing his butt off from all the boring worriness dancing across his head all cheered up from the conversation he had with the die hard blonde, arms at the back of his head and boots crossed. Watching above the glittering stars of the night skies, so beautiful and sparkly to his pupils.

"Ahhh... What a beautiful nightfall... No wars, criminals or intruding crooks around at bay... Just some all out peace at last...." Sighed the dual wielding lad, succumbed by the wonders of the brighten dots as well as the graceful moon. The decent opposite of daytime for every or less generations to witness, secondly to lay back and watch. Everything that the red violet ex maverick have said about peace is very true, no worries, miscreants or anything too risky for that matter. It is a cesspool of non violent freedom to swim about all the time without ever getting out.

"I really miss Red... He's like the true father I never had, before going bonkers from those stupid case loaded with corny chips that changed him... Sigh.... But, his DNA will always be carried within my mimic enhancement... And in my memories too..." Tears have descended from his eyes, remembering of his foster father that caused him to grieve. However, as the new recruited hunter, he wiped them off by fist to get his spirit together.

"*Sniff...* What am I sobbing for...? Big boys don't cry. They would stay valiant and kick the crap outta fear! Heck, I'm a brave man now, in fact, I'm a Maverick Hunter! Yeah! Those creeps are gonna be very sorry if they first took a gander of me!" Cheering himself up with self encouragement, he would practice his kicks into the middle of the garden, fantasizing of him shooting multiple enemies who are robbing banks, abusing civilians and more. Hearing the applause washing all over him, women admire his fearlessness by delicate smooches. It will be his wonderful dream come true.

"Yeah.... That's right, ladies... Plenty of me to go around... He he he..." He imagines of himself surrounded by women giving him kisses by gently stroking his body all over. Until suddenly, a ringing has disturbed his daydreaming sequence. Must be an emergency or some sort. Or worse, he might have done anything disrespectful by switching the report papers. He then respond by the ear port.

"This is Axl."

"He he he he.... Hello there, Maverick Hunter Axl...." Then, a sudden deep voice has reached to him with a comely yet seductive vibe.

"Who is this?! Where's Zero?!" Replied Axl, demanding for a certain answer.

"There's no need to be angry, boy... I'm sure that he's perfectly safe with me... For now... He he he..." He replied.

"You bastard!"

"Mmm... Aren't we fueled with anger? I like that in a boy~ Truly that I would admire a woman, but never mind them... For I already found someone right in front of me~"

"Found who!?"

"You~"

What the young pistol user didn't really know, despite of a mysterious call, is that a dangerous "maverick" was quietly behind him the entire time. He have felt his chilling presence speaking to his ears until he jumped back from the "enemy".

"What the?! Who are you?!"

"He he he... Haven't your precious red friend ever warned you about me~?"

"So you're that scary looking maverick jerk that he told me about!"

"Precisely~ But enough of the meaningless introductions~ I've come here to have fun with you~" Approaching the incubus themed reploid, making his way to the youthful ward of the hunters.

"W...What are you doing?! Step off from me!" He quivered slightly, reversing himself from his opponent while trying to gulp his pride whole. "Y..You're suppose to seduce women, not men!"

"You're correct, my young plaything~ But...." He teleported for moment. Seeing as kind of a magic trick, the former member of Red Alert was infuriated by that. But, giving him a chance to draw out his trusty Axl Bullets just in case the malicious "intruder" reveals himself again.

"All right. This is it. Time to take out some maverick tr-" Then, something very impossible has happened to him. He was interrupted by the disappearing individual, now visible, by placing his clawed hand upon his innocent cheeks. Rubbing them for a quick second until the touch has intrigued his interests.

"Ohh yes~ Your flawless face is so passionate, along with your delicious figure~ So hot~" He examined, circling his palms very slowly.

"H...Huh...?!" He frozed.

"Not only do I desire for females, but in secret, I love males as well~ That's why I found you, little boy~ Now, how about a little privacy to shield ourselves from this world~?

"Are you insane?! Why would I wanna date a-" Stopped once more with a hungry kiss had made the adolescent reploid dropped his weapons. Defeated by something very consensual that he had never seen before.

"Mmmmph! Mmmph!"

"Mmmmmm~ Just try to relax~ And let go of your unwanted fury you've kept for so long~" Repelled the goth colored vampire, staring at his leaf colored eyes to hypnotize him.

"Mmmmm...." At last, he was fully compelled to the deadly spell that Zero mentioned earlier. He tried to fight it off, but it too late.

"Good boy~ Now, let's retreat into a secret place to have our little mission together~ Forever~"

"Yes, master..."

Teleporting both him, along with his mind controlled captive to a darker basement cell underneath the base to continue their "battle" in peace, they can finally have a much more privacy zone to make some love. Setting the youngling onto the bed gently while pinning him down softly, he began to sip his longing kiss once again into a seductive way.

"Mmm~ Mmmmm~ God, your lips are very tasty, but yet beautiful~ I love it when it shines brightly than a diamond~" He was fascinated by his pure and polished lips.

"Mmmm..." The future hunter would conduct the same while hugging around his master's neck, giving into the lip mashing. This was his first special mission he had with the shadowed themed hunter unlike any kind. Thrilling and exciting for a boat load of duels awaiting for his call when it comes to danger. He asked for something dangerous, now it arrives to him and was purposely delivered. Endlessly lingering by his ice user's grasp, but an a lustful way. Flushing away his tired boredom along with the annoyed whining down the toilet for good. For the new memories of his new friends have replaced the previous one from his mind, straighteningly stored to inherit it forever.

And finally, the true feud shall finally commenced.

"Now then~ Are you ready~?" Questioned the winged hunter.

"Ready when you are, master." He replied, lending his neck closely to him with his dipped head.

"Yeeeeeesssss~ I'm going to enjoy this more like I admire you~" He grinned, revealing his white diamond fangs for a scrumptious dinner. Axl was a little nervous, but not afraid to allow his mentor to seduce his sexy neck. Hissing very quietly with a purr, he gently bit it, inserting his fangs into the synthetic flesh.

"A...Ahhh...."

"Mmmmm~"

Like any other vampire whose patiently desperate for blood in order to survive, he is interest into necks. One of his favorite sexual parts of the body that will never cease to amaze him by the slightest. It really inspired his needs even more than talon his enemies with one strike. Plus, he even dreams in his slumber. And now, he finally had a chance to permanently suck on the thin yet strongly part of the new gen teenager.

"Hey, kiddo~ Liking your new mission~?" Said the pale blonde upperclassmen. The plot twist has shocked the scarred youth.

"You're the unnamed maverick?!"

"That's right~ Just giving you a new lesson when this is all over~"

"No freaking way! I...I'm really sorry for kissing like that! It's not like me at all! I..." He was silenced by his friend's deep smooch as his forgiveness for the accident that occurred from the start.

"Heh. Don't worry about it, you cute little runt~ Accidents happen sometimes when you're new~ So there's no need to get all apologetic about it~"

"Well... You're right, Zero. Thanks for understanding." He cheered up.

"So~ Ready to continue our little private mission together, partner?"

"You know it, boss~"

And so, two hunters have resume their reconnaissance by kissing into the lips once more, making out in peace with the saber wielding senior's wings folded across them for a more comfortable terms.

"Oh Zero~"

"Axl~"

"Zero~...."

"Axl~....."

"Zero~...." He whispered.

"Axl~...." Same with the black crimson blond.

Tranquillity has comfort the town of Abel City during the return, free from the dreaded master and his army of mavericks pillaging amok by trying to scare humanity from the face of existence, all dealt with by the fearless Maverick Hunters. And not to mention Axl as well, the third hero that the world will look up to and will always count on. He may have lack immaturity unlike X and Zero, but has the potential will for caring about his trustworthy friends and saving everyone from certain devastation invading the earth. But for now, all is peace once again. And their thinks belong to the true hero for his bravery to protect mankind at all cost and his pure of heart. Thank you, Maverick Hunter Axl, for your limitless generosity and protection of all humans and reploids living in equality, as well as in harmony.

Rough Character Profile

Name: Dax

Repliforce Lieutenant attached to a Maverick Hunter regional office as a liaison. Arrested at the opening of the Great Repliforce War. (Even if he’d been better equipped to resist, he was still outnumbered and in the middle of a Maverick Hunter building when it went down) Spent the remainder of the conflict under detainment, as well as a fair amount of time afterwards from being stuck in Bureaucratic limbo. Spent his imprisonment studying, eventually being able to help push his release through the red-tape as he got more familiar with the rules being used to keep him there.

Abilities:

Dax was designed originally with information gathering in mind, specifically from social areas. Quick talking, quick thinking, and a good eye for microexpressions equip him well for getting information out of people. Supped up hearing and passive antenna give him some eavesdropping skill. Sleight of hand and a certain amount of practice with non-destructive entry can help him get a little more Pro-active in information gathering, but he has to make sure not to get into situations he can’t talk his way out of.

He’s got a service weapon, an accurate and quiet pistol-type weapon, but it isn’t able to do much damage to hard armor.

Narc Beacon (name not final) is an ability that helps with his people tracking. He can make small tracking bugs, either placed by hand on targets or fired from a distance with his pistol. They don’t last forever, and they can still be found if someone decides to look, but while they are active they give him a basic location of the tracker and can be made to transmit audio or video if built for it. In combat situations, they can provide targeting information for other weapons, making it easier for allies with more firepower to land hits.

In theory, he would have been deployed in an area to passively canvas an area, noting irregularities in the movements of inhabitants to track down potential maverick activity. As maverick activity got more prevalent and faster developing, the slow and cautious approach was deemed less efficient. That, paired with Dax’s limited combat effectiveness if cornered without backup, lead to him being offered a transfer from Special Forces fieldwork to a desk job as a Repliforce Liaison to the Maverick Hunters. His talents would help him coordinate logistical support and intelligence sharing between the two groups.

Again, in theory. In practice he did what he could, but there was still some friction between the two that even his silvered tongue couldn’t grease.

The Mavericks of Ashley

When I was writing my canceled Beyond the Battle Network Line series, I did create eight Mavericks to with the series. I will draw them out in the future but for now here’s their information.

Armageddon Anaconda A seven-foot Anaconda theme Reploid who was originally made to explore areas that have a high level of radioactive that no life form can handle without dying or getting sick from the dosage and disarm nuclear weapons and stable nuclear power plants too. But Armageddon Anaconda isn’t the kind you want to stick around with when he makes his presence near for he is also known to be a cannibal Reploid. This Anaconda Maverick is known to kill and devour his victims and often times, he’s known just eating a part of his victims and Nityan is one of them after Vile tore her wings off and fed them to his snake friend. He’s is horribly known to have a cold and merciless personality which explains his great friendship with Vile. He only joined Accord’s side just so he can eat more Reploids. Carcass Vulture A Griffin Vulture theme Reploid who was made to find and recover dead bodies of Reploids and humans in natural disasters, terrorist attacks, and crisis made by Maverick crimes. The job took a terrible toll on him, driving him to hate his own kind for murdering innocent lives and he joined Accord’s side to help end the Reploid Race for good. Carcass Vulture is designed to look like a care Taker and he’s known to be a gentleman personality and even going as far as giving his opponents condolences over the deaths of their friends and loves one which, something that makes the Maverick Hunters either flinch or go into rage. Scorch Jabberwocky Based off of the Jabberwocky from Lewis Carol’s poem, “The Jabberwocky” Scorch Jabberwocky was made to help gather data on forest fires to help humans to combat against it easily and to prevent more lives and homes from being lost in the fire. Scorch Jabberwocky starts to question if Reploids truly need free will in order to live and joined Accord’s side while believing that free will is nothing but a burden. Scorch Jabberwocky is known to speak in a poet like sentences and it’s known to drive everyone around him crazy (And his mun too) Echo Orca An Orca theme Reploid, Echo Orca was made to do underwater exploring of sunken ships and caves where humans can’t reach without dying and handle pressure from crushing him. He never got along with Chill Penguin due to Orcas and Penguins being predator and prey and has the habit of hunting and trying to devour him. But he did have high respect for Duff McWhalen but yet always fighting with Metal Shark Player before he was punished. Orca doesn’t talk like a human, he mostly speaks the same way as a normal Orca would and translation has to bed used and he’s know to hunt and kill his victim. Unlike Armageddon Anaconda, he just toys with his prey before killing them. Flash Cheetah A Cheetah theme Reploid, Flash Cheetah was created to outrun poachers and arrest them on the spot to bring them into justice and protect endanger animals from harm. Flash Cheetah developed a strong hatred toward the human race and see them as nothing more than a disgusting mistake made by nature and started killing poachers rather than arresting them on the spot. He joined Accord’s side on one condition that every Reploid is brought back as an animal theme Reploids only. For this reason is that he also developed a hatred toward humanoid Reploids and finds hybrids between humans and animal theme Reploids to be the bane of the Animal Reploid race and even going as far as being open about his hatred toward them and calling X out for having a relationship with Nityan by claiming that her parents deserved to die for tainting the animal Reploid race. Flash Cheetah is build to be incredibly fast and know to even match with Overdrive Ostrich. Quick shot Jackalope A Jackalope theme Reploid, Quick Shot Jackalope never have a scrambled twitchy mind from the start. From the start of his life, he was a kind and respected Border Patrol Officer until the Sigma virus happened and when he was fighting it off, it fried his brain so badly that it turned him into a psychopath who can’t tell the difference between right or wrong, causing him to play judge, jury, and executioner when he comes across a Reploid. He joined Accord’s side in hopes that she can reset him and cure him of his illness and willing to do anything for her without knowing that he’ll be losing his free will in the process. He’s the reason for Nyiem almost getting killed when he rat him out by claiming that he’s the one who almost killed Konnar during the Repliforce crisis when Nyiem made his dragon form notice. It was later cleared by Konnar that it was Double who almost killed him. Quake Zebra A Zebra theme Reploid who was created for handling fracking for oil companies and to move heavy equipments around and thanks to Flash Cheetah, she was convinced to hate the human race for destroying nature for their greed for oil. Quake Zebra is powerful enough to rip out telephone poles and lift the heaviest of rocks over her head and crush anything with her hooves and takes pride in her strength in battle. She uses to have a crush on War Ram from the Repliforce in the past and thought he was killed in The Repliforce Crisis. That is until words got out that he simply just himself in exile. Digital Ferret A ferret theme Reploid who use to work in Maverick Hunter Security before Sigma's uprising happened and she joined his side until she grew bored of Sigma and joined Accord’s side to work for her instead and found the thrill that she is seeking. Her job was to locate and help hunt down New Generation Reploids for Accord’s Chimeras to tear them up and collect their copy chips to bring back. She may be small but yet Digital Ferret is not afraid to go all David and Goliath on any Reploids when it comes to fighting.

Mega Man X: The Novel Prologue

Hey all! I’ve managed to get the prologue of the novel translated for your viewing pleasure! My Japanese proficiency is only intermediate so it might not be entirely accurate but I think I got it down well enough. So, here you go!

What is a Maverick?

One would be unable to obtain a clear response, even if they were to spend their whole life raising this question. That the response is ever-changing may itself be the answer. But, if this trite conjecture has any possibility of being true, then there is one thing you must remember.

Chasing an ever-changing answer is, in a sense, like being in hell.

This may be the punishment for my sins…

This, may be my atonement.

To those of a far future.

Think of disastrous, ever-continuing conflicts in this time, the "Maverick Wars" that we experienced. Think of the "Reploids" who fought and died valiantly. And of the hero "Rockman" who fought in the war until the bitter end, I leave a record behind.

To successfully document the Maverick Wars, it is imperative that I touch upon the word “Maverick”. At the same time, I must also touch upon the words “Reploid” and “Mechaniloid”.

In this era, humans are not alone. Those birthed from science, robots with a sense of self; machine lifeforms known as ��Reploids” coexist with us. They are different from normal machines. Capable of thought, judgement and action, they are beings created by and operating on advanced technology. Having these capabilities, they are androids who are replicas of humans. And for that reason, they were given this name.

Conversely, machines without a self and follow fixed programming also exist. To differentiate them from Reploids, they were designated as “Mechaniloid”. Think of automated cars, construction machines and other similar machines if helps make the meaning simpler to understand. Either way, they were created according to the main purpose of science: to make humanity more prosperous. So naturally, their roles involve working on developments humans are incapable of working on themselves. For instance, the construction and on-site direction of an ultra tall structure, or maintaining an orbiting satellite in space, et cetera. These machines only exist to help humanity develop further.

Nowadays, there are Reploids who specialize in education that teach compulsory education courses, Reploids who become caregivers to people who need assistance in their daily life, Reploids who are foster parents to orphans, et cetera. As you can see, humans and Reploids live intertwined closely with each other.

Now, what are the “Mavericks” that I mentioned in the beginning?

Plainly speaking, it is a generic term for Reploids and Mechaniloids whose thought routines and programming suffer from a fatal bug. It is a name to differentiate the innocent from criminals who engage in behaviours opposite to growth and development, such as robbery, murder and destruction. The severity of these actions vary, but under the law they are all defined as “crimes”. The standards for crimes are set by human ethics, and because they have strong bodies, Reploids who have committed crimes and become Mavericks are treated as if they have committed a greater crime than actually have.

When they first appeared in society, they could be dealt with by using emergency shutdown equipment, but with frequent Maverick outbreaks and them hacking the emergency shutdown equipment themselves, the threat of brutal Mavericks gradually began to increase. Humans with their bodies of flesh and blood would only magnify the damage done to themselves if they tried to deal with them. On top of that, outbreaks continued to occur. So for these reasons among others, people established an organization using Reploids, for the sake of countering Mavericks, known as the “Maverick Hunters”. You may think of it as a kind of police organization. Following the law, they have been given the right to use force against Mavericks and maintain public order.

They use a method called “Maverick Disposal” in response to the crimes mentioned before. Those who have mainly inflicted injury onto humans and those who intend to cause harm are, after given a warning, mechanically disposed of as the name implies. In this way, the Maverick Hunters, who rely on Reploids with great fighting ability and a sincere sense of justice, are able to completely suppress Mavericks. After the “Maverick Wars”, an armed force called “Repliforce” was formed to combat even larger crimes, but as the story focuses on the Maverick Hunters, I will stop here.

Thus, though it was temporary, we solved the issue of Mavericks, whose existence drove society into fear. But… later on, the one Reploid in the Maverick Hunters who was said to be the greatest and hold the finest sense of justice caused an uprising, and the Maverick Hunters who were supposed to uphold world peace were forced to fight against their former members who’d gone Maverick. The world was plunged into a dire era.

This was the beginning of the “Maverick Wars.”

This battle burned the world, driving people into a corner. Before long, even Reploids began to feel pessimistic to the point that the world was changing. There were battles occurring constantly everywhere, and gradually civilization and humanity’s prosperity was lost. The battle with Mavericks repeated over and over again, but first let me focus on and leave a record of the first battle that started this abhorrent war. It was this very battle that started it all; the origin of all. I will record this valuable piece of history, the evidence of my sins, and store the data using the cutting-edge of our technology. The log data of Maverick Hunters who actually fought as well as the data from surveillance cameras installed in various places will be combined to form this record. It will be a bit special, but this is also to ensure that a record of the way this war repeats itself is left behind. If this aspect can be understood, I would be happy.

I will record this first battle, and using it as the start, unfurl the story of the hero “Rockman”. There may be cruel ideas and thoughts beyond your wild imagination within, but you mustn't avert your eyes, or else nothing will change. Nothing will advance. Therefore, this is a pristine record, and its video and audio have been left completely untouched. Not wanting to see things you don’t like… I believe that is the most humanly feeling. Even among Reploids, I’m sure there are a considerable amount who hold that feeling. But, because of that, I believe this is a necessary record. Because of that, I must surely leave proof of my sins for the future.

It is my wish that this record proves useful for the scientists of the future.

Robot Masters and Mavericks: Storm Owl

Storm Owl, known in Japan as Storm Fukuroul (ストーム・フクロウル), is an Maverick Hunter designed after the Great Horned Owl. He's one of the original eight from Megaman X4, and part of the Repliforce.

Personality: A diligent and competent leader, Storm Owl has gained the confidence and trust of every single member of his aerial unit of the Repliforce. Even enemies have a hard time heckling him, as he's almost always a gentleman and cordial negotiator. He's a war veteran, cutting his beak in the Battle of Cyberpunk; a war between a group of Mavericks led by Megaman X in a confusing storyline that even the creator of Metal Gear would have a hard time following it. However, for all his power and aplomb, he's far from perfect. He's known to be rather prideful, and will often refuse to take orders unless they came from his superiors directly. Strengths: Double Cyclone- An expert tactician, Storm Owl can generate great hurricanes from his wings to blow foes away. Light Armor Weaknesses: Aiming Laser- While a powerful bird of prey, Storm Owl has a fatal flaw in the form of a strong laser pulse. It disrupts his processor and throws him off-course into nearby walls.

{Get to Know my Muse in 8 Songs or Less}

Music is a great way to get a sense of a character’s personality, history, or general vibes. You might only have a handful of songs you associate your muse, or you could have a massive playlist that’s impossible to list. Songs make it for all kinds of reasons: the lyrics, the genre, or maybe you just found the song at random and it stuck. The purpose of this meme is to introduce your muse in the span of one album or less, share some of your musical inspiration, or even stuff you’re into right now while you write! You can explain as much or as little as you like (multimuses are welcome to do one track per character too!).

((I kind of broke the rules of this meme, and made a playlist for my main 3 muses. It’s a lot to go through, so its ok if you don’t want to listen to them all... ^^;))

General

1. [Stadler - Dreams of war] This was actually one of the first theme songs I chose for General, but I feel like it still manages to capture his personality prefectly. I think it kind of speaks for itself.

2. [A Cerulean State - If Only I Had Forever] When I listen to this song, I imagine General leaning against a balcony and staring at the stars... Maybe thinking about the things that could have been.

3. [Evening Star - Octavia] Here’s one that’s more upbeat. Even though this is an MLP song, it’s always reminded me of General. I don’t really know what this one makes me think of though...

4. [Two Steps From Hell - Submariner] Here’s a look at General’s more serious side. This one makes me think of General on the move. Most likely headed to a battle.

5. [David Edwards - Insurrection] I’ve been thinking about choosing this song as his new combat theme, because it captures how scrary it would actually be to fight him. His armor is nearly impenetrable, he’s strong enough to bash through the walls of fortresses, can easily crush a reploid in his hand, and It’s almost impossible to hide from his onslaught (if you’re a reploid) because his whiskers can detect electrical activity. I tend to assocoiate heavy sounding orchestral stuff with him anyways.

6. [Audiomachine - Last Plane Out] I chose this song to be the theme of General’s sacrifice. I remember that in my story, I actually drew the scene out a bit. Instead of moving himself into the path of the final weapon’s beam, he instead dives into the structures surrounding the core, and uses the last of his strength to cause as much destruction as he can. General eventually succumbs to his wounds, and has a surprisingly peaceful death before the inferno from the core’s implosion could take him. He died a true hero, giving up everything he had already sacrificed so much for to protect the innocent humans and reploids of earth.

7. [The Volga Boatmen (Paul Robeson cover)] I remember sharing this song to show how I imagined General’s singing voice to sound.

Colonel

1. [Two steps from hell - Never back down] This is the song I chose to be Colonel’s theme song. Beleive it or not, it has actual lyrics. I think they suit him really well.

2. [Kingdom Hearts II Soundtrack - Passion - KINGDOM Orchestra Instrumental Version] If I could make this Colonel’s theme I would, but I have a personal rule against using songs from popular media for themes. I remember a time when I had almost lost muse for him, but listening to this song helped me remember his more noble and heroic side (mostly at 1:56 though).

3. [Thomas Bergersen - Immortal] This is actually one of the previous theme songs I had for him. I think it still does kind of fit

4. [Two Steps From Hell - Winterspell] Whenenver I listen to this one, it almost makes me picture a scene where Colonel goes on some kind of mission. Also so far it seems like most of these songs make me think of Colonel running. He’s pretty good at that after all, being able to reach a top speed of 30mph on foot.

5. [Charlene Soraia - Wherever You Will Go] Sometimes I imagine Colonel singing this song to Iris. It reminds me of an idea I had a while ago where Colonel and Iris would have a bit of a falling-out, and Iris would try to stay on Earth with Zero while Colonel would try to go space with General. Still, even though her descision had hurt him, he respected her choice. They had been close their whole life, and now... They would be truly separated for the first time. Even though she’s not there to listen, it’s like Colonel is silently calling for her to come back. It makes me feel a little choked up knowing that despite all the greif that Iris had caused him during the war, he never stopped loving her. (One of the lyrics doesen’t really work here, but... you know.)

6. [Manowar - Die with Honor] The lyrics of this song really makes me think of Colonel’s last stand against Zero at the spaceport. I remember imagining that He had actually decided to stay back and fight off the hunters so that General could escape. Maybe I’d change a couple words in the song though, since Colonel never had a son... ^^; It also makes me think of this card from Teppen, which says: “Pushing himself ever further for the sake of his comrades, this proud reploid's blade can cleave any enemy in to two.”

7. [Two steps from hell - Unforgiven] This is the battle theme I’d decided on for him. The ascending notes in the background are like rising winds, the snare is like rain hitting your face, and the big drum that comes every now and again is like a thunderclap. Near the end, I imagine that Colonel is wounded, but has one last surge of energy before he either wins or loses. I didn’t call him the “Silver Prince of storms” for nothing. I remember imagining that his final battle with Zero would get so stormy and rainy that they would both have reduced visibility and would be at risk of falling off of the bridge they’re fighting on.

8: [josielemmings - In a Dying Whisper] “...Never in my life did I expect you to be the one to strike me down... Our practice duels... At one time we bonded over them... But now... It seems that they were only the beginning..." -Colonel, when he realized he was dying I’d say that by the time the chorus starts, he’s completely gone.

Iris

1. [Lucas king - Smiles] This is the song I chose for Iris’s theme. I think it really fits the impression she tends to leave on people.

2. [Lucas King - Cat] In Iris’s bio, I used this song to describe the way she feels when she’s with Colonel. Warmth, happiness, security, familiarity... Those are the words that come to my mind. I like how the bass of the song almost makes me think of Colonel’s presence and/or voice.

3. [Yann Tiersen - Summer 78] I’m not quite sure why, but this song still reminds me of Iris. I guess it’s her more ‘serious‘ theme. I feel like this track and the one after it do kind of capture her hopefulness.

4. [Yann Tiersen - Mother's Journey] This one makes me picture Iris running through the rain as fast as she can, as well as how she did her best to endure the turmoil happening around her. It makes me think of her perserverance and her quiet desperation.

5. [SAMUEL BARBER - Adagio for Strings] I imagined this to play when Iris would go to Repliforce’s spaceport, but she would find that not only have all of the ships left, there’s also fallen Repliforce soldiers littering her path. Eventually, she finds Colonel laying there... Completely motionless. She was too late to say she was sorry...

6. [Really Slow Motion & Giant Apes - Swirling Dinosaurs] This one was a last-minute descision, since I was kind of dissatisfied with the battle theme that’s actually in her bio (for X4). 7. [Lucas King - Hurt] I picked this song to play for Iris’s death scene. No joke, when I played this over the cutscene in X4 (redubbed), I felt like my eyes got slightly moist. It really reminds me of her body struggling to stay alive in that moment as she becomes weaker by the second.

S.IV - Ep. 12: Impending Doom

The cell door to Blaze Phoenix's chamber opens as he continues to sleep on a bench.

A Reploid walks from the shadows with a large cannon in his hands. He places the weapon directly into his open beak, which stirs him awake.

BLAZE PHOENIX: (stirring, confused) Hm!? Vic-

Victor generates a large boulder which instantly crushes Blaze Phoenix's skull from the inside.

Blood spurts all across the wall and on Victor's chest, as he shakes it off of his hands and wipes his weapon clean.

VICTOR: That was for killing my team, you lunatic.

He walks out of the cell as Dr. Laye applauds him from the shadowy hallway.

DR. LAYE: Well done, Vick. I didn’t think you had it in you…

VICTOR: Oh please, Lana. This wasn’t about you…

DR. LAYE: If Gate had only listened to me.. he would have lived!

VICTOR: (dark) No. He wouldn’t.

He walks out of the room as his superior is given pause.

In a hexagonal tiled chamber, X and Zero take turns knocking their fists against an indestructible punching block.

X: Hoot. Hat..

ZERO: Yah!!

As they train, the evening news reports from a TV suspended in the corner of the room.

ANCHOR: (o.s, narrating) Magma Dragoon, a former Maverick Hunter turned Repliforce Officer, has been confirmed dead at Krakatoa Volcano in Indonesia!

X narrows his brow with sharp eyes as his fist glows red.

X: Hrrrt!

He upper cuts the punching bag as his entire suit of armor shifts to red and white.

ANCHOR: (o.s, narrating) At the scene were Maverick Hunters X and Zero, who take full ownership of his demise.

Zero takes out his Z-Saber and slashes away at the punching bag as his eyes glow red.

ANCHOR: (o.s, narrating) They proved that Dragoon was responsible for plummeting the Sky Lagoon into Southern Virginia, which incited the Great Repliforce War 2 weeks ago. The following is a clip of the dragon's words.

MAGMA DRAGOON: (filtered, recording) …You’re so naive. …Listen closely. I let the Sky Lagoon fall! And I’d do it again! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

X & ZERO: (powered up, irate) YYYAAAAHHHH!!!!!

The two let out a furious roar as X fires a deadly blast of flame in the air from his hand. Zero tilts his powered up saber into an uppercut as flames emit from his blade.

ANCHOR: (o.s, narrating) For the Maverick Hunters, justice was done. The Repliforce have made no comment at this time.

The two look at each other, surprised at their new power sets.

X: (panting, sweating) Whoa. Check you out!

ZERO: (smiling) Heh. You too. You’re not the only one who can upgrade his moves…

X: (smiling) Hm.

CAPTAIN: (o.s, filtered) Boys. Come upstairs now. Someone needs to see you.

ZERO: Oh?

The two share a curious look from their com-link.

X and Zero arrive and are surprised to see Iris standing with their Commander near his central console.

X: Huh?

ZERO: (guarded) Iris?

CAPTAIN: Come quick. You two need to hear this.

IRIS: (worried, panicked) Its Frost Walrus… I'm scared.

[Insert Title Card – Impending Doom]

ZERO: Hm??

IRIS: He's made a terrible machine.

Zero scowls at her.

ZERO: What did he do!??

She starts to cry out of guilt.

IRIS: Ah.. I'm so sorry!

ZERO: Tell me!!

IRIS: It’s a Geo-thermal Reactor. He'll Freeze the Earth if we don’t act!

X gasps.

ZERO: We!? Who exactly is “We” at this point.

IRIS: (sobbing) Damn it Zero, there’s no time for that. You did what you had to do to Dragoon. And maybe we were wrong.. I dunno. But I know that Frost is a threat and we have to do sooomethiingggg-ah-hyah-hah-haa-haa-hahaaaaaa…

Her pleads turn into pitiful tears as she sobs a blue streak across all of their faces. She collapses to her knees as she cries.

X: (comforting) Hey! Its okay…

He kneels down to Iris and rubs her back.

X: You did the right thing..

Zero jealously looks down at X.

ZERO: Hmph!

He walks up to Iris and puts out his hand, ready to help her up.

She looks up at Zero once and the tears stop.

X: Hm?

She takes Zero's hand and is brought back to her feet.

ZERO: I'm sorry… This whole thing has been intense.

IRIS: I know. I'm so scared… (whispering) I don’t want to lose you.

His face immediately softens as he embraces her.

ZERO: (soft, low) Oh, God. I don’t want to lose you either…

CAPTAIN: (clearing throat) Ahem. I'll.. formulate a plan and we'll reconvene in the morning. I think it would behoove us all if we got a little sleep tonight.

X, Zero and Iris all nod to their Commander.

X, ZERO & IRIS: Yes sir.

INT. REPLIFORCE HQ – Command Center – NIGHT

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

General fumes as he watches the latest report on the news from his command chair.

ANCHOR: (filtered) …and the latest polls are indicating a rapid decline in the public's trust in Repliforce. 15% believe that they are innocent, while 75% believe that Sky Lagoon was a conspiracy designed by Repliforce. A low 10% don’t know what to think, but even they feel like the Repliforce are hiding something.

General pounds his fist against the console in front of him, creating a large dent by his keypad.

GENERAL: Damn it all! We're Failing!! (v.o, thinking) We need to get off this planet sooner than later.

He looks at the dwindling Repliforce activity. Soldiers are stationed at their Arctic Base and at their Space Fortress.

GENERAL: The Humans and Hunters have left us no choice. …If all really is lost, then we need to make our mark on this World, before we start over in space.

He thinks back to the conversation at the dinner table on Thanksgiving.

COLONEL: (o.s, v.o) If for some reason, we found ourselves in a position where the entire World has turned on us… then yes.. Your device would prove very useful. But for now, we are really confident in our plan to Colonize Space.

FROST WALRUS: (o.s, v.o) Hmph… Figures…

General pensively strokes his chin.

GENERAL: Hmmmm… (v.o, thinking) The scope of the World has changed drastically in the last 6 hours. They fear us and view us as an enemy. (sighing) I never should have signed Magma Dragoon on board. I knew his presence at the Sky Lagoon was questionable. But I believed he knew something about the Maverick Hunters that we did not. Why else would he betray them?? …Now the public World View has turned against us. They feel as if we had intended to bring down the Sky Lagoon. And that we sent Dragoon to do it! Well… At this moment, I have two choices. I can either attempt to smooth this over with the public… or I can give them something to fear.

He thinks back to his conversation with Sigma, months ago.

SIGMA: (o.s, v.o) It’s about the Maverick Hunters, General. They are far too eager to please the humans, and continue to hunt down the Reploids. Do you believe they pose a significant threat? GENERAL: (o.s, v.o) …Perhaps… SIGMA: (o.s, v.o) You already know the truth, General. Their sole mission has been to destroy any Reploids who fail to do as the humans order! GENERAL: (o.s, v.o) Hmm… SIGMA: (o.s, v.o, insistent) It’s in your best interest to stop them now, before they turn on you! You possess enough power to /destroy them!

General looks up at his screen with a dark glare in his eyes.

GENERAL: I still do. The Maverick Hunters have disgraced us. If not for them, the public would still revere us. But now everything has changed. It’s time to deliver retribution unto them. And what better way to do so, than by using all of our resources!?

He com-links to Storm Owl from his console.

GENERAL: Storm Owl, you have the green light. Fire upon any Maverick Hunter in sight!

STORM OWL: (gasping, o.s, filtered) Hh… Yes sir!

General then com-links to Frost Walrus.

GENERAL: Frost Walrus, I've been thinking about your project and I've made a decision.

FROST WALRUS: (o.s, filtered) Oh?

GENERAL: Ready the machine.

FROST WALRUS: (gasping, o.s, filtered) Really!? I thought th-

GENERAL: The plan has changed. The World is turning on is and we owe the Humans nothing. You have my permission to freeze this planet before we leave it behind.

FROST WALRUS: (shocked, excited, o.s, filtered) Whoa!! I.. Thank you sir! I won’t let you down.

GENERAL: The World already has, Walrus. The World already has…

Caption: 1 Hour later

A notification alerts Blizzard Wolfang to monitor the rapid changing weather patterns on his computer.

BLIZZARD WOLFANG: Hmm?

He turns to his lab partners, Liam and Terrance, who are filling out their nightly log.

BLIZZARD WOLFANG: Um. Do you guys see this?

TERRANCE: What’s that?

BLIZZARD WOLFANG: Arctic temperatures just abnormally spiked up in the North Pole.

LIAM: Its too late. We just finished our logs. I'm not writing a new one.

BLIZZARD WOLFANG: Forget writing a log.. Do you guys want to see this?

Terrance walks right over to his screen, interested. Liam resigns himself with a sigh and slowly gets out of his seat.

LIAM: (sighing) Fiiine, I'll take a loo- Hoooly Moly, what is going on there?

BLIZZARD WOLFANG: You think it’s worth a look?

LIAM: Ohh, I dunno man. Its getting late…

BLIZZARD WOLFANG: It'll probably be on the news. That'll make the boss happy.

TERRANCE: Oh mann! This could be our big break!!

LIAM: (indecisive, reluctant) Ahhh. Malek and Zach are asleep already. We should just go to bed.

BLIZZARD WOLFANG: We might not get a better chance than this. I think we should investigate.

TERRANCE: Lets wake them up!

LIAM: Nah, nah. Screw them. They snooze, they lose. We can do it, I guess. How long will it take to get there?

BLIZZARD WOLFANG: The next shuttle to the North Pole leaves in 20 minutes. It’s a 2 hour ride.

LIAM: Wow.

TERRANCE: We could do it! We could totally do it. We'd get back a little late, but it'd be worth it!!

LIAM: (giving in) Alriiiight.

BLIZZARD WOLFANG: Yes! I'll run it by Gate. If he gives us the go ahead, I'll be outside in five minutes.

INT. REPLIFORCE ARCTIC BASE – Control Room – NIGHT

Caption: 2 Hours Later

Frost Walrus has a giddy, satisfied grin on his face as he watches his machine at work.

FROST WALRUS: (amazed) Wooooow. What a night! Never in a million years did I think that this would actually happen.

Suddenly his computer blips with an alert.

FROST WALRUS: (curious, intrigued) Hm? Intruders..

He spots a wolf and two reploid scientists studying the area with scanners in their hands.

FROST WALRUS: Interesting.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------- EXT. NORTH POLE – White Forest – NIGHT --------------------------------------------------------------------------

In a forest caked by snow and ice, Blizzard Wolfang investigates the night’s abnormal weather patterns with Liam and Terrance when suddenly a few Fly Gunners appear and fire at them without warning.

LIAM: Ah!

TERRANCE: What the-?

Three Knot Berets slide in from their snowboards.

KNOT BERET 1: You’re trespassing!

KNOT BERET 2: Orders are to execute on sight.

KNOT BERET 3: Roger.

BLIZZARD WOLFANG: Hm!?

The Knot Berets shoot at Liam and Terrance, which easily strike them down.

KNOT BERET 3: E-AT. Take out the Wolf.

BLIZZARD WOLFANG: What!?

A Maverick shaped like a yeti growls and runs after Blizzard Wolfang.

E-AT: Brooouuurrrgghhhh

Blizzard Wolfang braces for impact and defends himself as he grabs the yeti's arms.

BLIZZARD WOLFANG: Stop this! We're just Scientists. We mean you No harm!

KNOT BERET 1: You shouldn’t have come here.

They all fire their blasters at him and the giant E-AT punches him down to the ground. That is when he finds that Liam and Terrance are dead.

BLIZZARD WOLFANG: (frightened, growing irate) What have you done? No! NNNOOOO!!!!

In a fit of anger, he forms a blade of ice around his hands. Then, he wildly attacks the E-AT. As shards of ice break everywhere, he tears open the yeti's torso.

Then, he ravages the three Knot Berets who stand frozen with fear. After they explode, he turns around to gaze at the Fly Gunners, which shot down his cohorts.

He crouches down and shoots out fragments of his Ice Burst with pinpoint accuracy. Each of the five Fly Gunners are destroyed.

BLIZZARD WOLFANG: (shivering, worried) Damn it. I'm going to get in so much trouble for this.

-fade out-

INT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE - Zero's Dorm – DAY

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Caption: November 26th, 21XX – The Next Morning.

The Sun shines through Zero's window as we pan up to see him waking up with a smile on his face. His arm is around Iris, who peaks her head out of the covers.

She peacefully yawns and looks at him with sleepy eyes.

ZERO: Good morning, beautiful.

IRIS: (smiling) Mm, I could get used to that.

She gives him a loving good morning kiss as suddenly the room is alerted with a distress signal.

ZERO: Hm!?

Their kiss interrupted, Zero gets out of bed with a worried face.

Iris does the same as they both adjust their armored plating.

Zero answers the room phone.

ZERO: (answering, reacting) Hey, it’s me. ..What!? Already!? Shit. …Yeah, I'm on it.

Zero hangs up the phone and stares at the door.

IRIS: What is it?

ZERO: Frost Walrus activated the machine last night. X and the others are waiting for me.

She gasps in horror.

ZERO: I have to go…

He walks toward the door and opens it.

IRIS: I know. I won’t stop you.

He turns his head, with his back to her.

ZERO: (smirking) This time…

He offers her a wink and runs off.

She staggers in confusion and then blushes with a smile at her Red Hot Knight who valiantly rushes out to save the day.

IRIS: (in love) Hm…

EXT. NORTH POLE – Snowy Cavern – DAY

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zero teleports to see X, Aeson, Venzo and Scorche standing next to a Frozen statue of Blizzard Buffalo’s corpse.

ZERO: Hey guys. What’d I miss?

SCORCHE: Nothin' yet.

ZERO: Whoa! Is that-

X: Blizzard Buffalo? Yeah…

VENZO: Oh man! I remember!! 3 Ice guys escaped from Laguz Island, back when we were facing those Erasures.

X: Frost Walrus must've taken care of them in self-defense.

ZERO: Hmph. Back when we were allies…

AESON: Good riddance. Blizzard Buffalo almost killed our whole Elite Unit!

X: Well, if we're not careful, this one could too. The wolf pack is also here. We'd better catch up to them.

ZERO: Ooh, nice. Lets take out this Walrus before he does any more damage!

-pan to-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. NORTH POLE – Ice Cavern – DAY --------------------------------------------------------------------------

They all swiftly run down a snowy hill as they enter a crystallized ice cavern.

They spot an E-AT yeti standing by a small snowman shaped mechaniloid known as a Yukidarubon. The small bot jumps after X and self-destructs at his feet.

X: (reacting) Ah, what?

E-AT: Grrraaah!

The yeti smashes his foot against the snow, forming a short set of ice spikes from the ground, which also catch X by surprise.

X: Whoa!

He takes a step back.

ZERO: Hey!

Zero dashes into the yeti and destroys him with two slashes of his saber. Then, he leads the team down a small crevice, where they land before another E-AT. X hovers from his boots and takes out a small Yukidarubon with a level-2 shot.

Venzo throws a couple of boomerangs, which destroy the E-AT before them. Then, he and Zero climb up a short ice ladder to catch up to X’s position.

When Scorche climbs the ladder, it suddenly crumbles into dust.

SCORCHE: What the-?

AESON: Did you just.. destroy the ladder?

Aeson leads the way with a kick-jump up the rocky wall. Scorche follows suit.

After climbing up, they spot X scanning the area with his radar. The rest of the team has moved on.

X: (distracted) You two go ahead. I found something.

His armor turns red and white, as he effortlessly shoots a fireball out of his right hand, towards a block of ice at the ceiling.

SCORCHE: (surprised) Whoa!

Aeson and Scorche watch X catch a heart fragment that falls down from the melted block of ice.

X: Ooh. Wow!

AESON: What’s that?

X: It’s a heart fragment. They help me upgrade my inner-core system.

AESON: Wow! That’s so cool!!

Aeson looks at his Commander in awe and runs off with a smile on his face.

X: Heh.

X takes out his incomplete heart tank from his compartment belt and adds this to his collection.

SCORCHE: Oh hey, that reminds me. I found this in the jungle when we recovered that giant beam cannon.

X: Hm?

Scorche pulls out another heart fragment and hands it to X.

X: Whoa! Really?? Thanks Scorche!! Now the Heart Tank is almost complete.

SCORCHE: (smiling) You’re welcome. Glad to help.

He jumps down a short crevice and X follows him.

-cut to-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------- EXT. NORTH POLE – Snowy Cavern - DAY --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zero and Venzo run and dash down a slick, icy slope as they chase down a few Knot Berets who are snowboarding away from them.

ZERO: Hey! Get back here!!

He catches up to a Knot Beret and slashes him with the pink Shippuuga.

KNOT BERET 1: (dying) Awgh!

They drop down to another icy slope, where Venzo stylishly throws boomerangs at two Knot Berets, which explode upon contact.

VENZO: Haha! Yes!!

-pan further behind-

Aeson is carefully traveling down a snowy, rocky slope where many spiked icicles await between a set of small pillars.

X and Scorche are not far behind Aeson.

When they catch up with each other, they climb a small mountain and kick-jump up a wall only to see the icy frame of a deceased Crystal Snail.

AESON: Whoa! Is that.. Crystal Snail..!!?

X takes a deep breath and acknowledges this with a nod.

X: We have to be careful.

-pan farther ahead-

Zero and Venzo narrowly dash-jump past a large spike trap as the ice slop crumbles at their feet.

VENZO: Whooa! That was close.

The two continue to slide down a new slope of ice, just by a large wall, which leads back into the cavern.

ZERO: Shya. We gotta be careful.

-pan up-

X, Aeson and Scorche pass the large spike trap from a freshly formed slope of ice. Then, X’s radar blips again as they make it to an ice wall.

[RADAR]: Unknown Power Source, located above.

X: (curious) Hm??

Scorche and Aeson drop down below on the ice slope and are taken by force down the slippery ramps while X continues to kick-jump up toward his mysterious prize. With a short ceiling of rock above him, he decides to switch to Lightning Web.

X: (v.o, thinking) Hm.. Gotta try this again.

He fires a yellow web, which he uses as a backboard to bounce off and give him the ability to reach the top of the mountain.

Once up there, he analyzes the object further.

X: Hmmm. I’ve never seen this before. Any ideas Radar?

[RADAR]: My best guess would be that it’s a Power-Cell used to operate something, sir.

X: Hmmm…

X holds onto the item and decides to com-link over to Research and Development.

X: Hey, Lucas. This is X. I found something interesting at the Repliforce Arctic Base; Gonna send it to you for further analysis.

LUCAS: (o.s, filtered) That’s what we do best.

X: Thanks Luke. Sending it over now.

He wraps a teleporter ring around the Power-Cell and sends it away.

-pan farther down-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. NORTH POLE – Open Ice Cavern – DAY --------------------------------------------------------------------------

The rest of the group drops down from the last crumbling slope and into a part of the cavern with large holes in the walls. Through a giant crack in the wall, a beautiful forest caked with snow can be seen in the background as Zero and the others run ahead and take out another Yukidarubon and E-AT that are in their way.

They stop at the edge of a cliff when a strange phenomenon occurs.

Snow has managed to get inside the open cavern to the point where large gusts of wind have been frozen into ice platforms, which actually make their way up to the team.

ZERO: What the Hell?

AESON: (shocked) The ice is moving.. upward!

VENZO: Uhh. How do we get through this one?

X: (o.s) Carefully.

GROUP: Hm?

They all turn around to see that X has joined them.

ZERO: Finally… I was starting to think that you got lost.

X: (smiling) No.. I’m still here.

He passes them by and assesses the situation. He fires level one shots at the ice platforms, but they merely ricochet off like useless pellets.

X: Hmph. We don’t know how long this wind gust will last, so we have to be really careful. Just follow my lead.

X, Aeson, Scorche, Venzo and Zero slowly and carefully hop onto the ice platforms and attempt to make their way down, against the flow of the air, which blows the ice platforms upward.

The ice platforms shatter upon hitting the walls and ceiling of the cavernous area, which serve as an obstacle for the group to surpass as they cautiously descend.

By following X’s careful lead, they all manage to make it safely to a ledge at the bottom of the cavern.

Then, they spot a gateway before them.

VENZO: Whoa.

ZERO: This is it, guys.

X and Zero take the lead as the rest follow behind them.

-pan to-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. REPLIFORCE ARCTIC BASE – Security Entrance – DAY --------------------------------------------------------------------------

The moment they enter the room, X gasps at the frozen corpse of Chill Penguin, standing there with a hurt wince forever etched on his face. When the gate closes behind them, an ice de voux appears, which drops everyone’s guard.

ZERO: (disappointed) Guess not.

Aeson laughs at it’s presence.

AESON: AHahahahaaa! I remember these things from Blizzard Buffalo. They’re so weak that even I could take this one!

Suddenly the Ice de voux spins it’s ear panels and wraps itself up in a huge threatening coating of ice, which is shaped like that of a three-fingered claw. It has transformed into an Eyezard.

AESON: Whoooa! Nevermind. Maybe I really can’t take this one!

Aeson runs into the corner of the room, while Venzo throws a few boomerangs at it. The boomerangs ricochet off, ineffective.

Scorche steps up, in between X and Zero who glare at the beast.

SCORCHE: I’ll take you on, you bastard!

He fearlessly pulls out his flame whip and gives it a quick lash in the eye.

EYEZARD: (affected) Gyaaaaahh.

X: Good idea!

The claw immediately clamps up and retreats towards Aeson’s side of the room, which freaks him out.

AESON: Aaah, aah aaaah! Get it away from me.

ZERO: Shut uuuup, you wimp!

Zero dashes over to Aeson’s position and pulls out his saber, glaring at the beast.

When the Eyezard opens his claws again, it lowers itself to Aeson, who cowers in fear.

AESON: NOOOO!!!!

ZERO: I GOT THIS ONE!!

He jumps with his saber tilted up as a large orange flame /emits from his beam.

ZERO: /Ryuenjin!

Zero announces his new flame attack as he destroys the overpowered Eyezard directly above Aeson. As the Eyezard explodes, so does a portion of the wall ahead of them.

AESON: Whoa.. Oh my God. You saved my life.

Zero narrows his eyes at Aeson as he helps him up.

ZERO: Man up! Are you an Elite or not…?

Aeson gives Zero a surprised look, but deep down he knows he’s right.

X: Hey. A wall opened up. Looks like we finally made it.

ZERO: Good!

Zero runs inside the Base’s entrance without hesitation. Venzo quickly joins him along with Scorche.

X stays behind with Aeson.

X: That thing really gave you a scare, huh?

AESON: Yeah! I don’t know what came over me. I’m sorry I-

In a back room Dr. Laye is meeting with Malek, Zach.

Alia enters the room with an exhausted look on her face as she closes the door behind her.

ALIA: Well, that’s that. Blizzard Wolfang is in the probation chamber and I calmed him down.

DR. LAYE: So what do you make of all this, Alia?

ALIA: (uncomfortable) I don’t know… I mean, I'll admit that Gate's inventions have all had a tendency to be extreme.. But… I wouldn’t say that any of them were Maverick. Especially Wolfang!

MALEK: Well, I'm pissed. He snuck off with my team and killed our friends. I don’t believe it was the Repliforce for a second.

ALIA: Awe come on! You can’t think that!!

ZACH: No, Alia. So far, none of Gate's creations could be trusted. What should make us think that Wolfang is any different?

ALIA: The fact that he’s always been upfront and honest with you.

MALEK: He snuck off with half my team without my permission and he went over my head. Now they’re dead. That’s too convenient for me.

Alia frowns with nothing to say.

DR. LAYE: Hmmm.

ZACH: He’s a Wolf, Alia… And wolves can’t be trusted!

Four key members of the 13th Unit Wolfpack stand before Frost Walrus as the gate closes behind them.

Frost Walrus turns around, dumbfounded at the sight of them.

FROST WALRUS: More Wolves..? Really!!?

GREY WOLF: Hey, shut up!

NIGHT WOLF: We’re gonna get you.

WHITE WOLF: Let’s go, boys.

They all collectively howl as they jump after him.

ZACH: (ranting, continuing) …AND he was built by the same guy who created Bit and Byte.. That was a Nightmare!

DR. LAYE: Hmph. Agreed. We're going to have to do something about him.

ALIA: (reluctant, agreeing, pondering) Hmm. Maybe you’re right… I do see your points. But maybe if he can do something.. to prove himself!

DR. LAYE: No. I've had it with Gate and his creations. He's out of chances. We will have to eliminate the Wolf and you’re going to be the one to do it.

ALIA: (horrified, scared) What!? M-me!? Why??

DR. LAYE: Because Gate won’t do it and Wolfang trusts you the most. He would suspect something from us.

ALIA: I can’t. I could never… He didn’t do anything wrong.

DR. LAYE: You can’t prove that. And we can’t run the risk, any longer.

ALIA: (hurt) But..-

DR. LAYE: Now Alia. We brought you into the inner circle. This is your career.. You wouldn’t want to disappoint me now, would you…?

ALIA: (uncomfortable) Hrrmm.. No?

DR. LAYE: The wrong choice could be very.. Damaging to your tenure as a Reploid Researcher.

ALIA: (sad, reluctant) I… I.. uhm… Okay… I'll do it.

She winces in pain and fear for what she must do.

FROST WALRUS: Is this it?? Is this the best they could do!?? GAHahahahh!

Just then, his computer blips to a new alert and grabs his attention.

FROST WALRUS: Ahhh. There we go.. Maybe these kids will actually be worth it.

X, Zero and their team run through the main corridor as they come upon a crossroads. There is a hallway leading up and down to two separate pathways.

X: (eager) Let’s do it!

The Maverick Hunters jump in their corresponding directions.

An Armada of Repliforce aircrafts files out in droves from the Space Fortress as they all ready their weapons.

STORM OWL: (o.s, filtered) This is it troops. Fire at will!

Timeframes!

Laying out the basic sections of the timeline that Dax would be active and roughly what he’s up to.

Sometime in the early X numbers, he would have been activated. Between X3 and X4, he would have been doing his best in the field as a proud member of Repliforce, being transferred to the liaison position with the Maverick Hunters in the leadup to X4.

During the events of X4, he’d be getting carted off to jail or stuck in a cell,

If someone approaches me with a thread idea that would make sense while he’s doing the field work, I’d love to run with it.

If anyone wants to do a thread with shit going down when the opening act of the Great Repliforce War is starting? PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF HECK REACH OUT. Be the one to arrest him. Taunt him in prison, or try to be friendly and try to help him out from outside. Argue with him about if he should be in there. He certainly wouldn’t be doing much else in that time period aside from taking levels in Legalease.

Once he gets out of prison, (sometime after X4) he’s going to be a bit of a mess. On one hand, keeping Mavericks from hurting people is still super important. On the other hand, he’s got a pretty substantial chip on his shoulder about the Hunters as an Institution. Repliforce isn’t quite what it used to be, and he’d be conflicted about trying to rejoin up or try applying with the Maverick Hunters. If he did either, he’d still try to work from within to try to keep the organization from steamrolling others the way that was done to him. Even in other work, he’d be still focusing on making sure people get treated right. He is as likely to be working as a lawyer as he is tracking mavericks.

S.V - Ep. 1: The Way Things Are

In Outer Space, we see a beautiful image of the Earth as Eurasia, the giant Reploid Space Colony orbits it.

EXT. LOCATION 8197-2201 – New Maverick Hunter HQ – DAY

From a deserted park area, located in between a bay and a city in Oregon, we zoom to a small modest base of operations. Attached to it’s right side is a large beam cannon pointed at the sky, and directly behind the base is the rigging for a recently acquired Space Shuttle, which is being loaded in by a series of Maverick Hunters.

Caption: December 5th, 1:00 PM

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) It has been 3 years, and things are finally starting to feel normal, again. As normal as can be anyway…

Signas sits at his center console, surrounded by his four main dispatchers who are working quietly at their desks.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) Ever since the Repliforce War ended, the Government has cut our funding. We were forced to downsize and move out of Abel City, California. I have successfully relocated the remaining Hunters here, in Hexagon Bay. /

At the dash, he /pulls up a list of the Elite Shinobi Unit, which displays their names and a small mugshot of their faces: X, ZERO, TAU, VENZO & TAKUMA.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) We now consist of two Combat Teams… /

He /pulls up a second list - the Special Ops Unit: RECON RACCOON, SCORCHE, BARYON, FRENZY FOX, FREEZE ALOPEX, TURIAN, TETHLON, BLIZZARD & BLAZE.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) …a /Recovery Team and a small /Supportive Staff.

He /pulls up a third list for the Recovery Team: GREEN NOIR, RHO, SIERRA, OLIVER, SNOWBALL, SNOWFLAKE & FROSTBITE.

Then, he /pulls up a final list for his Medical and Supportive Staff: PSI, CASSANDRA, LIFESAVER, LUCAS, DAVE, HECTOR, KIRK & DOUGLAS.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) /Lucas and /David, from Dr. Cain’s Research Division are now with me. They have moved up to Central Command along with my new hires, /Hector and /Kirk.

At each dash, we zoom in to the familiar faces of /Lucas and /David, followed by the new faces of /Hector and /Kirk.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) I have also just hired a new navigator, who will aid X and the Maverick Hunters on their missions. But first, she needs to train…

ALIA, a reploid in pink and black armor with short blonde hair and a headset built into her headband, is seen at her computer desk. She takes a deep breath and watches X enter their new training room. After shaking the nerves of her first day, she com-links to him from her switchboard.

ALIA: Hello, my name is Alia, your new Navigator! Let’s begin your training. Are you ready, X?

X nods with a smile as he admires their new training course.

X: It’s been years since I’ve been in a training simulator. It’s time to get back on track. I’m looking forward to this.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Me too. I’ll navigate you as you are a novice Maverick Hunter.

The smile on his face quickly wears off.

X: Excuse me??

SIGNAS: (o.s, filtered) Er- Not quite, Alia.

Just then, Alia’s heart skips a beat. She lets out a short gasp.

SIGNAS: (o.s, filtered) X is a Legendary Maverick Hunter, who has saved our planet, many times.

ALIA: Oh my God! Wait…! You’re.. the one who saved us on Laguz Island! And.. stopped Doppler!!! Ohh, my goodness, how could I botch that up? We’ve met before!!!

X: (filtered, staggered) Uhh, yeah..!

On the screen, he slumps his shoulders and raises his hands, looking confused and slightly annoyed.

ALIA: I’m so sorry. I was reading from a script..

She shuffles her prompt papers and lets out a nervous sigh.

X: (filtered, confused) Huh?

Signas smirks at the screen as he chimes in to his somewhat flustered comrade.

SIGNAS: Just go with it, X. Remember, this Training Simulation is more for her as a Navigator, than you as a Hunter.

X: (filtered) Uh huh…

On screen, he folds his arms and straightens his posture again.

SIGNAS: Just pretend that you’ve never been in the field before, and take her advice accordingly.

X: (filtered) ..Alriight. Shall we??

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Yes.

X shakes the miffed look off of his face and puts his hands at his side. He clenches his fists, ready to begin their session.

Signas looks at the other screens from his console displaying Hunter activity and focuses his attention elsewhere.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) While X begins his training, the rest of our units pursue their struggle to win back the public’s trust.

EXT. NEWPORT – Suburbs - DAY

Caption: 1:15 PM

Along the streets of a neighboring town, a young girl cries about her kitty who is stuck in a high tree.

Green Noir and Sierra from the Recovery Unit appear with friendly faces and open arms. The girl gasps in fear at the sight of them.

GREEN NOIR: Don’t worry. We’re here to help.

SIERRA: We got this, honey.

GIRL: (scared) /Oh!

Sierra /high-jumps and climbs the tree swiftly. The kitten arches it’s back and hisses at Sierra, but she is able to snatch it before it can jump away.

GIRL: Oh my Gahaaaaad…

Sierra lands and hands the kitten over to the girl, who desperately holds her cat and tries to calm down.

Suddenly sirens blare and two cop cars arrive.

GREEN NOIR: Oh man…

SIERRA: Here we go…

SQUAD CAR: (filtered) Stop right where you are! You are under arrest. This is the Newport Police Department, and you are not welcome here.

A heavily armored officer exits his vehicle and calls out.

OFFICER 1: GET THOSE REPLOIDS OUTTA HERE!!!!!

The two of them sigh and teleport away.

INT. NEW MHHQ – R & D Lab – DAY

Alia buries her face in her hands, embarrassed at her first day flop.

ALIA: (v.o, thinking) Jeez, Alia. That was stupid-stupid-stupid!!! What were you thinking!?

She lets out a short sigh and shakes her head.

ALIA: (v.o, thinking) What a way to break the ice…

She regains her composure as she watches X maneuver through their obstacle course, until reaching his first enemy mechaniloid – a spike marl.

The spike marl rolls after him, and opens up it’s little sphere-shell to reveal it’s tiny legs and eye-cannon. She decides to chime in.

ALIA: Enemy ahead of you! Use your X-Buster. Then, you can attack it from a distance.

X: (filtered) Uhhh, I know…

He raises his buster on screen.

ALIA: (put off) Hm..

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. NEW MHHQ – Training Room –DAY -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Also, keep holding on to your trigger, then/-

He /blasts it down easily with a Charge Shot.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Oh..

X: (smirking) Heh.

He jumps over to see a few holes in the terrain of the obstacle course ahead of him.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Enemy in the hole, underground. Remember: Your shots don’t penetrate through the land. So, if you want to attack enemies, take advantage of the lay of the land.

X: (smiling) That is actually great advice!

X concentrates his aim on the small spike marl.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) In this situation, take advantage of the terrain, ignore the enemy and jump over it. You can adjust how far you jump by how long you pressurize your gauges.

X: That part, not so much.

He ignores her and destroys the enemy with a couple of level 1 shots.

X: Always destroy the enemy if you can help it.

He far jumps over to the next ramp ahead on the obstacle course. This time, a pink walk shooter is waiting for him, just slightly out of his normal reach.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Hm.. Your enemy is in a difficult place to attack, but that is common in real life situations. Consider how to attack where you cannot attack by normal methods…

X: (nodding, patiently) Mmhhmmm.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Your charge shot has a wide attacking range, and if you shoot while crouching…/-

He /blasts it down with another charge shot before Alia can finish her sentence.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Right.. Sorry.

X: (smiling) It’s okay. I could’ve used advice like that when I first started.

-pan to-

Alia watches her screen with a slightly glum look on her face.

ALIA: (v.o, thinking) Hmm… I can’t tell if this is going well or not…

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) While our new Navigator seems to be having a rough start, our Special Forces Unit have arrived in Salem just in time to investigate a larger threat. This could be good exposure for us.

EXT. SALEM – Pioneer Bank – DAY

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Caption: 1:30 PM

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) The local authorities have not been making it easy…

On a hot Sunday afternoon in the middle of a somewhat busy town, everything seems to be just fine outside of the Pioneer Bank when out of nowhere, it explodes from the inside!

*BWWWOOOOOOOSSSSHHHHH*

The flames and ashes scare the surrounding civilians into a panic. Cars drive away as fast as possible, while others run for their lives.

On the other side of the street, Turian, Tethlon, Blizzard and Blaze make their appearance, ready to save the day.

TURIAN: Looks like we got here just in time, gang.

BLAZE: (annoyed) I’d say it was too late, if you ask me!

The Maverick responsible for the attack makes his escape through a side of the building out of what remains of the surrounding walls. He is large and top heavy, with overly sized muscles from the torso up. This allows him to carry a huge vault of cash over his shoulder.

MAVERICK: Huhuhuh. HAHAHAHA! This is too easy.

BLIZZARD: That, bastard!!

TETHLON: Let’s go.

The gang swiftly walks over to the gloating Maverick who is cackling with glee.

MAVERICK: Eeehehehehehee!!!!!

TURIAN: Put that down, big guy.

TETHLON: We don’t wanna hurt ya.

MAVERICK: HAH! What are you wimps gonna do?

Blaze ignites her fists, annoyed.

BLAZE: We’re gonna take care of you!! Come on Sis!!

BLIZZARD: (nodding) Right.

BLIZZ & BLAZE: TWIN FISTS!! /YAH!!

The two of them /shoot powerful fire and ice from their respective hands, which spiral around each other into a large combined Charge Shot.

MAVERICK: Huaah??

He tries to guard his face from the oncoming blast, but it is too powerful. The Twin Fists knock him down, causing an explosion from his chest. This forces the vault onto the ground, which puts a huge dent on its side. Large quantities of money seep out into the street while Turian sets his ice cannon.

TURIAN: We gotta finish this quick, before the cops come.

TETHLON: Yep.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) Despite our best efforts, the police have declared all Reploids an enemy of the state. Ever since the fallout of the Great Repliforce War, Mavericks and Hunters have been treated alike by the human race. We are not welcome here… but we still fight the good fight.

Turian blasts the Maverick down with a powerful wave that freezes him while Tethlon creates a large boulder from his buster. When Tethlon releases the boulder, it crushes the foul reploid.

TURIAN: (smiling) That’s it.

The sirens blare.

BLAZE: Shit! It’s the cops.

TETHLON: Oh, great…!

SQUAD CAR: (filtered) FREEZE, Reploids. This is the Salem City Police!

TURIAN: Come on guys, this is enough.

TETHLON: You sure about this?

TURIAN: (nodding) Yeah. Let’s go. Just as we rehearsed…

TETHLON: (worried) Alriiight.

The gang hops on their nearby Ridechasers and quickly leave the scene as the cops chase them down in their squad cars. Turian leads the group as they weave in and out through the city streets.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) Wait, what’s this??

-cut to-

Hector and Kirk look horrified at their monitors as they attempt communication with the team on their boards.

HECTOR: Turian, what are you doing!?

KIRK: Get out of there!! Do you read???

Only static can be heard from the other end.

KIRK: Shoot! His com-link is off.

HECTOR: Commander, should I force teleport?

SIGNAS: (curious, slightly amused) No… Lets see where this goes first.

They look at him surprised, but follow through with his orders. David and Lucas smile at each other. David points at Signas with his thumb while looking at his buddy, Lucas.

DAVID: I love this guy.

LUCAS: (smiling) Yeah, man.

He focuses back on his monitor.

Along his obstacle course, X dashes further ahead until he bumps into a familiar mechaniloid with two arm cannons and a fearsome, beastly nose cannon.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Giant enemy ahead of you.

X: Yep, the Dejira… I remember those.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) This type of enemy doesn’t move, but specializes in durability. Pay attention to their attack pattern and attack them with your charge shot or a special weapon that works on them.

X: Well, since I don’t have any special weapons, my Charge Shot is gonna have to do.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Actually, you’d be surprised about that.

X: Hm?

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Try calling upon your Force Armor. I took the liberty of downloading it into the simulator, so you can practice your better moves.

X: Really!?? My Force Armor?? But, I haven’t used that in years!

ALIA: (o.s, filtered, encouraging) Go for it.

X: Uh, okay... Here goes nothing. ..Hrrrrrrr/AH!

He focuses his energy, and almost effortlessly transforms with a white flash of light. Suddenly, an enhanced version of his armor emits from his body and shines. Donning a pristine, white and blue armor, accented in gold with touches of red, this version of his Fourth Armor looks like it has never seen a day in combat.

X: Wow!! Alia, how did you do this!?

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) I reconstructed your armor using the Archive Data we have of the Great Repliforce War. Consider it an apology for calling you a novice, before.

X looks at his white and blue gauntlets, amazed. Then, he charges up and points his buster at the idle Dejira.

X: /Wow!

He/shoots a brilliant large plasma shot, which puts a big smile on X’s face. The huge blast leaves a residual ball of plasma energy, which erodes it’s armor and fleetingly destroys the enemy.

X: (shocked, amazed) Apology accepted!! So this armor is a… Replication?

He studies his gauntlets once again before he proceeds with the rest of the obstacle course.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Yes, but it only works in the Training Room. For field use, I can download it into your mainframe if you want.

X: Oh, really?

He destroys a wall trap blast and nears a ladder where he climbs down and carefully avoids getting shot from two walk shooters.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Sure! After a quick glance at your file, I noticed that your armor fades after periods of non-use. So, I figured it couldn’t hurt to have it, just in case.

X’s eyes widen. After taking care of the walk shooters, he drops down and looks ahead with a smile.

X: Whoa… Well, thanks a lot! This is great!!

EXT. SALEM – Streets – DAY

TURIAN: (v.o, thinking) Hehehe, this is gonna be great.

Turian’s gang pushes forward through the frantic traffic. He cannot contain the grin on his face as he com-links to the extension of his team.

TURIAN: Alright, Recon. It’s on.

RECON RACCOON: (o.s, filtered) It’s on?? Alriiiight!!!

TURIAN: Come on, gang! We’re outta here; Full Throttle!!

Turian leads the way as the group takes off at full speed.

Caption: 1:45 PM

The cops cannot keep up, but they do not quit either.

-pan to their side of the chase-

The cops completely lose sight of the reploids when suddenly, a new group of reploids appear before them.

Recon Raccoon, Scorche, Baryon and Frenzy Fox all stand before the 4 squad cars, fearlessly.

-pan inside the first squad car-

OFFICER 1: Uh, sir?? What do we do?

OFFICER 2: They’re testing us. Go ahead. Run them over.

-pan over to Recon Raccoon-

RECON RACCOON: Baryon? Would you like to do the honors?

BARYON: Hmph. With pleasure.

Baryon makes static electricity from his hands, clenches his fists and pounds the concrete heavily. With his fists in the pavement, he moves his electrical pulses through the ground as they reach the squad cars and shock the cars from their undercarriages, effectively shutting them down and stalling them out in the middle of the road.

OFFICER 1: HUH??

OFFICER 2: What the Hell is that???

Recon Raccoon smirks as their cars slow down before them and almost come to a full stop.

He kicks out his foot, which dents the hood of the first car and stops it. Then he holds out his gun with a wink.

OFFICER 1: Armed Reploid! Get out and engage!!!

The armored officer gets out of his car, as the rest follow suit.

RECON RACCOON: Sorry… But we’re savin’ the day, this time.

INT. NEW MHHQ – Training Course - DAY

X dashes over to a wall.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) High wall without any ladder. Jump to the wall, and if you touch-

X: (smiling) I know.

X proceeds to do the triangular kick-jump off the walls that he learned years ago.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Oh! Uh..Sorry.

X: Don’t be so nervous. You’re a great Navigator!

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Hehe, aw thanks.

After kick-jumping up the wall, he spots something new.

Recon Raccoon shoots an officer with a containment blast from his heavy gun. The electric band wraps around the officer’s chest plate and stuns him down to the ground. With his armor affected, he cannot move.

His partner angrily pulls out his gun and takes charge.

OFFICER 2: You call this saving the day!!? /You’re under arrest!!

The rest of the officers /pull up their guns.

FRENZY FOX: All weapons on stun, boys. You know the deal.

SCORCHE: Yeah, yeah…

Frenzy takes out his electric whip and lets out a containment band, similar to Raccoon’s blast. Scorche pulls out a pistol rather than his flame whip and fires a containment shot as well.

OFFICER 2: Evasive Maneuvers!!

The armored officers quickly scatter with their dash boots and high jump away with the aid of thrusters from the back of their armor.

BARYON: Nope. Not today.

He holds out his hands and carefully emits three electrical pulses; two from his hands and one from his visor. The pulses effectively stun and contain the remaining officers.

They all fall to the ground and struggle.

OFFICER 1: (struggling) Gah!! You’ll never get away with this. What is the meaning of this???

INT. NEW MHHQ – Training Course - DAY

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

X takes out his new wire hook, and uses it on a short yellow wire for the first time. The wire hook effortlessly clasps on to the wire without any trouble and allows X to freely hang on the rope, while moving over to the next platform. Multiple spike marls are underneath him, which he is freely able to shoot down with his other X-buster.

He jumps from rope to rope, encountering a hover gunner in the process. With an instinctive level 1 pellet, he destroys it and moves on to a vertical rope that leads down into the next section of his Training Course. As he descends down the hallway, he shoots a spike marl below him and lands.

He looks ahead and destroys a hover gunner instantly. Then, he dash-jumps over to another rope and descends further towards the floor below

X dashes with a smile as he spots some more walk shooters and hover gunners ahead.

X: Let’s go!

As he takes them out, Alia breaks her silence.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Watch the floor in front of you… Can you see the-

X: Deadly spike trap ahead. Yeah, yeah I know…

ALIA: Uh..In cases like this, do a dash-jump..

X: I know, Alia! You don’t have to tell me everything..

He impressively destroys the mechaniloids in the room with swift shots from his X-Buster. Then, with a hurdle over a medium sized wall, he spots a gate in front if him.

Momentarily triumphant, Recon Raccoon walks over to the disgruntled police officers.

RECON RACCOON: You may not remember us, but we’re the Maverick Hunters. And /THAT… over there… was a Maverick!

At the dash, he points to the scene of the crime, where Turian’s gang had quelled the threat.

RECON RACCOON: We eliminated the threat for you, and yet somehow we’re the ones that are apprehended. Now tell me, why is that?

OFFICER 1: All Reploids… are scum.. and need to be eradicated.

RECON RACCOON: (unfazed) Uh huh… I’ve heard that before, pal.

OFFICER 1: We will eliminate you all one day. Only then, will we be free.

RECON RACCOON: Oh, really?? Well don’t forget that your real enemy is sitting right there, fried in the middle of the street.

FRENZY FOX: You’re welcome by the way!

OFFICER 1: For what? City Clean up?? Do you have any idea how long it is going to take to fix that bank and repair any of the surrounding damage?

SCORCHE: Not our problem…

OFFICER 1: Yes it is. This is why we don’t trust any of you. No concern for our Environment!

BARYON: Well, to be fair, we did lose the Environmental Recovery Unit in the budget cuts.

OFFICER 1: AGH! That’s not the point!! Your whole Operation was blown. You’re all acting as Vigilantes and it isn’t your place!!!

OFFICER 2: We could’ve handled this on our own. We don’t Need you any more!!! Now you just made more trouble for all of us…

OFFICER 1: When we get out of this, you are all under arrest.

FRENZY FOX: We’re only here to help!!

OFFICER 1: We don’t want your help!

FRENZY FOX: Why you!!!?

He raises a whip to the officer, but Recon Raccoon grabs him by the arm.

RECON RACCON: Frenzy! That’s enough. Come on guys, this is a lost cause.

FRENZY FOX: Hmph…

They all walk away. Without looking Recon Raccoon waves a hand at to them.

RECON RACCOON: (calm, controlled) The bands will only last for another 2 minutes. We’ll be long gone by then…

The police officers continue to struggle.

RECON RACCOON: You should consider yourselves lucky. After all the times Sigma tried to take over the World, you’d think the locals would appreciate all the Peacetime.

OFFICER 1: Who!!?

RECON RACCOON: OH GOD! This guy’s an idiot. Lucas, take us outta here.

LUCAS: (o.s, filtered) On it.

BARYON: I guess, we’ve simply been doing our job too well…

SCORCHE: Hmph!

All of the reploids teleport away, leaving the cops upset and dumbfounded.

Signas studies his monitor carefully, taking in what just happened.

SIGNAS: Hmmm, that could’ve gone better…

The Special Ops Unit teleport into the room with a mixture of smug and glum faces.

Lucas turns to his Commander with a guilty look on his face.

LUCAS: I’m sorry, Commander. I should have run their idea by you.

SIGNAS: (calm, poised) Yes, you should have. But, don’t be sorry… It’s important to raise awareness. I’m just glad that no one got hurt.

Everyone in the room is relieved and surprised at their commander’s reaction.

Signas gets up from his control chair and walks away.

SIGNAS: Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to take a break. I’d like to see how our new Navigator is doing, in person.

Alia watches X near the gateway on her computer.

ALIA: Go through the shutter. There you will encounter the boss of our Training Area.

Signas walks in to the room, which surprises Alia.

SIGNAS: (smiling) Hey, Alia. How are you holding up?

ALIA: Okay! X is about to face the Training Boss.

SIGNAS: Nice. I could use something uplifting to watch.

ALIA: (nervous) Heh.

She nervously smiles at her boss then turns to the monitor to prepare X for what lies ahead.

ALIA: I have emulated the Dragoon for your training.

X: (gasping, filtered) Magmard… If it wasn’t for him…

-A still,grainy image of Magma Dragoon suspiciously standing next to the Sky Lagoon’s broken Power Generator appears.-

-Followed by an image of the destroyed city below in Virginia.-

CASSANDRA: Oh my God.

Cassandra leaves the portly rookie, DOUBLE and immediately checks on the incoming Hunters with Psi.

Double stares at them, awestruck.

DOUBLE: Wh-what happened??

X grits his teeth.

X: Dragoon did this… That BASTARD!

Double grins.

DOUBLE: Are you gonna go after him, sire?

X gives him a strange look and shakes his head.

X: He’ll get what’s coming to him… Right now I have to keep my head in the game and go after this lead.

DOUBLE: (surprised) Really?

X: If I can prove to the Repliforce that Split Mushroom was responsible for the Sky Lagoon attack, then I can end this War!

X: (v.o, narrating) But Split Mushroom wasn’t a help at all...

X: (annoyed, ready) Cyber Peacock happened. And now I’ve gotta get rid of him.

Double gasps.

From further towards the Mother Computer, Lucas /claps his hands once.

LUCAS: /Okay! That, I know how to do. David, help me set up X’s Pod.

DAVID: Oh wow. This is just like Anomaly Day.

LUCAS: Exactly like Anomaly Day.

X: (v.o, narrating) The only good thing about this was the possibility of getting more information from this Maverick. Instead, I was only left with more questions.

In the midst of a vicious battle, X finds out pertinent information from Cyber Peacock.

X: Tell me Peacock!! Did you tamper with our system just to distract me!?? While Countless Innocents in the Repliforce die by our hand???

CYBER PEACOCK: Hahahah… You think you have it all figured out, but that isn’t even half of it.

He teleports away and reappears behind X, giving him a hard punch in the back of the neck.

X: Agh!!

CYBER PEACOCK: Get it through your head. The Maverick Hunters and the Repliforce will all be Dead soon. No matter what happens with your Precious Repliforce War…

X: What!?

CYBER PEACOCK: Muahahahahahhh!!!!! /GAH!!

X narrows his eyes and /fires another Soul Body at him.

X: Something bigger is going on. And I’m gonna find out what!! YOU HEAR ME!!!?

When Cyber Peacock reappears, X grabs him by the neck and punches him in the face.

CYBER PEACOCK: Kaughh..

X: Where did you come from!!? WHO BUILT YOU!?

CYBER PEACOCK: ughh… The Doctor…

X: Hm?

CYBER PEACOCK: D-Doppler.

X’s eyes widen.

X: (thinking outloud) Doppler! No way… Is it possible..? No! I saw him die!

CYBER PEACOCK: The Doctor is dead, but his last act lives on. Just in case he failed, he created me to attack your base from the inside.

X’s eyes widen in anger.

X: Then… you have nothing to do with the Mechaniloid attack at Sky Lagoon??

Cyber Peacock smiles, mischievously.

X grimaces and shoves him to the ground, hard.

X: (v.o, narrating) This was it. Magma Dragoon was responsible for everything after all. And there was only one thing left to do.

He rushes over to the gate, in a furious rage.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered, surprised) Oh! Make good use of your crouching and Charge Shot!

X: Yeah… You bet.

He narrows his eyes with a clenched fist.

X: ..I still need to work out this aggression.

He runs through the gate and drops to a lower ground floor as the gate closes behind him.

The simulation of Magma Dragoon appears with the same wicked grin on his face from before. X narrows his eyes with hatred.

X and Zero brace themselves for battle on a small landmass, over a smooth river of magma. Zero is protected by a Ride Armor while X bears most of his Force Armor, save for the gauntlets. On the other side of the landmass, Magma Dragoon rises out from the magma, which startles them both.

MAGMA DRAGOON: X and Zero… You’ve arrived. I can’t believe It’s really you!

They both narrow their eyes.

X: Dragoon! Why did you betray the H.Q.!?

He hesitates to answer. He can only offer them a wicked smile.

MAGMA DRAGOON: ………

ZERO: (annoyed, firm) Why did you betray us?! …Answer me, Dragoon!

-Flash-

MAGMA DRAGOON: …You’re so naive. …Listen closely. I let the Sky Lagoon fall! And I’d do it again! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

ZERO: (shocked) Dragoon!

X: But… Why!? We’re allies! How could you DO THIS TO US!!!???

MAGMA DRAGOON: (impish, baiting) Heh… You’ll have to defeat me first.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Wait…

X snaps out of it again to realize that Magma Dragoon is right here, in the training room. And this is not real.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) If you set your X-Buster to Auto Charge, you can shoot your Charge Shot easily.

X: (smirking) Auto Charge is for wimps…

ALIA: Oh.. Good luck, X!

X: DRAGOOOON!!!!

He angrily charges after the artificial program, which hops and does a narrow flame kick, right before him.

X back-dashes and blasts him with a fully charged plasma shot.

Taking the hit, the A.I fires a Hadouken at him.

X easily crouches and blasts him from below.

Taking the hit, the A.I fires a crouching Hadouken at him.

X simply jumps and hovers with his thrusters above the hadouken, while charging another shot.

He blasts him, which affects him deeply. Then, he lands.

X: (disappointed) Hm… This A.I isn’t as strong as the original.

X dashes after him and throws some swift punches at his open points. Magma Dragoon just misses catching his punches each time, until he throws a Dragon Punch in retaliation, which X easily reads. He dodges the uppercut at close range and hard kicks Magma Dragoon down to the ground. Then, he charges up once again, unleashing another heavy Charge Shot upon him, which completely leaves him open.

X: Take this, Dragoon…

He powers up as his entire body ignites with bright energy. In one fell swoop, he thrusts his entire body into an air-dash toward the A.I of Magma Dragoon. He destroys the A.I in record time with a Nova Strike.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Whoa!

SIGNAS: (o.s, filtered) Nice one, X.

X: (disappointed) Hmph… This one was significantly powered down, from the original. I can tell…

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) …Believe it or not… He had the same specs. You just got that much better.

X’s eyes widen.

X: (surprised) Really?? ..but… I haven’t been training.

SIGNAS: (o.s, filtered) Imagine, if you had!

X thinks back to the first time he destroyed him.

ZERO: NO! We took this guy to Laguz Island. We trusted you!! Almost every co-op mission we’ve done was with the 14th Unit. Then you betrayed us. For no reason!

MAGMA DRAGOON: …It all comes down to one simple thing in the end. Power… And sometimes, in order to achieve what you truly want, you have to make sacrifices.

X gasps and sharpens his brow in anger as he gets up.

X: You sacrificed an entire civilization… and joined Repliforce, just so we’d fight you…

ZERO: So that was your big plan!? Take out the Sky Lagoon and make it look like Repliforce did it!!!?

MAGMA DRAGOON: It was so brilliant. The look on your bewildered faces when Colonel declared War on you.

Tears well up on X’s face as he clenches a fist.

X: (whispering, shaking) So many lives.. Lost for nothing…!

-Flash-

X: We had Peace! We worked so hard to re-attain the state of the World after Doppler’s reign, Sigma’s return and Berkana’s erasures. Then /YOU ruined it. Over the most.. Infantile reason! …I’ll Never forgive you for this!!!

His fist glows blue and then flames up into a fiery, red state. The flames grow across his arm and cover his body as a glowing aura of gold surrounds him. Then, the aura covers his body with pure power.

X: NOVA STRIIIIKE!!!!!!

MAGMA DRAGOON: What!?

He stares in awe of X’s new attack, as X launches himself with a swift air-dash, directly into him.

MAGMA DRAGOON: GYYAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!

X rams into his chest as his Nova aura breaks off his torso and completely disintegrates his legs.

The broken, defeated Maverick looks up at X with tired, hurt eyes.

MAGMA DRAGOON: gg.. Uuurgh. You… are… strong… X…

Zero slowly gets up with wide eyes as he looks at the damage, X has done. He walks over and stands by his exhausted partner as they look down at their former friend.

X pants as he sweats through his helmet. X: Such a waste… Why Dragoon?

MAGMA DRAGOON: … Always… wanted… to fight… you. …Then …he … appeared … and

X: He appeared? Who?!

MAGMA DRAGOON: …told me to work for Repliforce. To goad you into fighting… …He …told me… he’d give me power.. only if I worked… for Repliforce…

ZERO: …What!? He? Who!? MAGMA DRAGOON: I couldn’t… refuse the offer… Sorry Zero… ZERO: …Dragoon!!! MAGMA DRAGOON: … was worth it… for a final duel…

He turns his head as the rest of his body explodes.

X: (v.o, narrating) Sigma… He was really the one behind the Repliforce War. Not, Dragoon… But even now, we’re still getting traces of him again! I have to be ready, for anything!!

In the R & D Lab, DOUGLAS, the engineer is hanging out with Alia and Signas as X walks in. X looks at his Commander surprised, and salutes him. Signas offers a salute in return.

DOUGLAS: Wow, X! That was awesome.

ALIA: You handled that way better than I could’ve imagined.

X: (smirking) Clearly… For a novice.

ALIA: Ugh, God. I’m never going to live that down, am I?

X: (smiling) Well, you did make up for it with the Armor. Thank you again for that.

ALIA: My pleasure! Like I said, if you want to use it in the field, Douglas and I can install the program into your mainframe.

Douglas smiles at X and gives him a thumbs up.

X: Sounds good.

SIGNAS: Go ahead and debrief him, Alia.

ALIA: Oh! Right. Well, tactically your field experience is spot on, and you far surpassed anything I could expect. Your emotional responses to field combat however, I feel are a bit…

She hesitates to say the words. X looks at her, concerned.

X: It’s okay, you can say it.

ALIAS: …Post-Traumatic.

X: (admitting) I’ve been through a lot.

ALIA: (smiling) I can tell… You’re holding together though.

Signas smiles and looks at X.

SIGNAS: And how’d she do, X?

ALIA: Hm?

X: Well, with all due respect, although she is really nice, she kind of talks too much and has a tendency to point out the obvious.

ALIA: (defensive) Hmph! Well she is standing, right in front of you! The least you could do is address me while I’m in the room.

X: Sorry to offend you.. I think with some more experience, you’ll become great at this.

ALIA: (put off) Right! Well, we’d better download that program if you want to use the Force Armor in the field.

X: Let’s do it. With Maverick Activity on the rise again, I think it’s only a matter of time before Sigma pops up again…

They both share a concerned nod.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) Yes, things certainly have been interesting for us, as we’ve re-established ourselves in Hexagon. However, we fear that this minor time of peace may be coming to an end. Maverick Activity has been picking up lately and the Local Authorities are not having us. The Repliforce has been silent as well, which is a slight concern. Their Colony still orbits directly above our planet, although it is not currently considered a threat. I just hope that Eurasia truly is a new breeding ground for Reploids to thrive off planet, and not just a place for them to reload their weapons.

We zoom out from the new Maverick Hunter Headquarters to see their boastful beam cannon and the large Space Shuttle resting at the sides of their base.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) For this reason, we have taken their unfinished Enigma cannon and acquired an old Space Shuttle from NASA. It seems that we’ll finally be able to adhere to Dr. Cain’s last wishes after all. He had always hoped we would create a Space Unit one day to explore the unknown… Once its ready, we plan to visit Eurasia to see what is really going on up there.

We zoom in to the Space Colony Eurasia. What was once a thriving Reploid Community has now been mysteriously destroyed by a tall assassin. His long white hair wafts in the artificial wind of the Colony as his crimson visor partially glimmers from the artificial sunset behind him. The shady figure stands amidst the desolation, tall and proud as he reports to his latest contractor.

Caption: 4:25 PM – Eurasia Time

DYNAMO: Yes, it’s ready… Piece of cake. The Colony is still alive.. I can let it fall at any time… Please let me do it now. I’m getting bored. All I have to do is… go back to the Earth and scatter the Virus.

Over coms, the mysterious voice of his contractor speaks.

SIGMA: (o.s, filtered) You’re exactly what I expected… You’re doing a good job… hee hee hee.

DYNAMO: Nobody dares to fight against you, except those stupid Maverick Hunters. I’ll do anything for you, anything…

SIGMA: (o.s, filtered) Good… I’m going to Earth to execute our plan. Stay where you are and await further instruction.

DYNAMO: But I don’t think you need to do it personally. Are they really a threat? Are X and Zero really so strong that you can’t let someone else do it?

SIGMA: Hee hee hee. Yes, in a manner of speaking.. Zero… I’ll show you what you really are and who your true enemy is… Hee hee hee hee. Bwah ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
