Eddie Munson wasn’t used to people getting under his skin, seeing him vulnerable. He’d spent years trying to prove to himself that he didn’t care what people thought, especially those he didn’t care about. And yet somehow he found himself dithering on the porch outside the trailer, waiting for one Claribel Barrow to turn up. She’d somehow got him to open up about the blues music he had stashed amongst the metal. His mother’s records. The music that soothed him more than he cared to admit. The music that he thought people would judge him for liking given all they thought they knew about him.

The roar of her bike’s engine snapped his attention up. She carved a path between potholes and eased the bike to a stop beside his van. She idled for a moment, and Eddie wondered if perhaps she wasn’t having second thoughts. After all, they weren’t exactly friends. The conversation had come up out of the blue, the truth tumbling from his lips all because of the earnestness in her eyes. The small smile that encouraged him to talk. The look he knew she shared with everybody because she was a good person, and yet it had worked its magic on him as well.  

Belle removed her helmet, let her hair tumble out before she got off and grinned at him. Eddie watched as she meticulously put her gear on the back before she all but skipped over to him.

‘Thanks for waiting,’ she said brightly, grinning up at him with such kindness in her eyes it melted his heart. ‘I was gonna just knock on doors.’

‘Not the best idea,’ he noted, opening the door and motioning her in. ‘At least one person has a shotgun, I’m sure.’

‘Good to know,’ she noted, tilting her head to duck beneath his arm.

Something stalled in Eddie’s brain. The gesture was an oddly familiar one that it took him a moment to fully accept the implication of everything. Belle Barrow was fine in his company, and had none of the qualms he’d seen with others about where she was. He wasn’t sure if that thrilled or terrified him.

hey!

Hi everyone, today I'm coming up with some of my usual bullshit that came to mind. yesterday while I was studying psychology I thought.. what cars would drive the engines of Sodor (obviously humanized)? so today I decided to create (if it hasn't already been created) this series.

⛔️I remember this isn't connected to my AU, I just based the characters on it. so if I ever show off some cars, unfortunately you won't find cars like that in this blog⛔️

🚗What cars would the Sodor engines drive?🚗 pt.1

let's start with the fundamental column of Thomas the Tank Engine... Thomas. Thomas shows off his Nissan, I tried to imagine him on several cars, but the only one on which he was decently adequate, imagining Thomas of my Au, is the Nissan.

then Thomas will be a family man, and a wide car is perfect. then if my AU was set in 2020 this thing would be a lot. but unfortunately this is not the case so I dream.💀

let's proceed with Rosie, in my AU girlfriend then wife of Thomas. Rosie, smart girl, deserves her white Polo. in my head I only saw her with this car. This Polo inside is certainly full of games to entertain little girls during trips, and the trunk will always be full of things. Rosie, the mother we all want. anyway, let's continue.🥲

Let's move on to our love Eddy💓.

Edward, with two and a half children, deserves a respectable little car. the Opel is more than fine for him as the only trips he makes are from home, station, supermarket, nursery, home. (Eddy doesn't like driving on the road.😭)

let's proceed with Henry, who has an Opel Astra. at the beginning he had a smaller car, then I thought that with three children he would have gotten a new one anyway. Henry, unlike Edward, is always in the car. he also follows the usual routes that every parent would do, then he often goes to visit Duchess and Spencer, or Frieda and Scott, in Barrow. he likes being with relatives and this is the right. car.

Gordon has a spacious car for trips to Doncaster (and beyond) with Henry and the kids (yes, they all fit in there). His Peugeot is nothing compared to the cars of his brother and cousin (which you'll see shortly), but Gordon is fine with it.

James likes to spend money, he likes to appear... so the Audi is perfect for him. (I love this car, I would like it too☠️). when he is alone he likes to speed around at full throttle, while when he is with the children he goes slowly. It may be expensive, but James isn't James without an Audi.🤭

(Italians make yourself heard🗣🗣🗣). the fiat multipla is the perfect car for Daisy and Diesel, with four children and not so rich financially, this wreck is fine. especially for Daisy who goes back and forth all day between nursery, schools and the Diesel depot. the Fiat Multipla is the only car I've seen Daisy well with, I'll tell you the truth💀

here he is, our man😩. I think Scott is the only one who deserves a Mercedes in this series. yes, the Gresleys have big cars🤷‍♀️.

Scott is a little richer than Gordon (and also has more kids than Gordon) so the big cars are fine for him and Frieda.

last but not least.. Spencer. it was implied that he also had an SUV, although perhaps it was the most obvious. he too, full of children, has to carry them around somehow. Spencer loves his car, is obsessed with it and brags about it more than his motor body.

But now I'm bored, I have to do hygiene plans, so I publish this joke and then I disappear for a while longer. Byee🥲

Today DC revealed that Maines has been tapped to pen a new ongoing series called Suicide Squad: Dream Team. The book's creative team also includes Freedom Fighters artist Eddy Barrows and inker Eber Ferreira. DC's latest Suicide Squad comic picks up in the aftermath of the current Beast World crossover. As part of her ongoing bid to consolidate power and combat what she sees as the dire threat posed by the superhero community, Waller spearheads a new incarnation of Task Force X that hinges on Dreamer's precognitive abilities. The new team also includes Harley Quinn, Black Alice, Bizarro, Clock King and Deadeye. "I'm really excited to be working with Eddy and Eber to bring Dreamer into this pivotal time in the DC Universe,” said Maines in DC's press release. “This is a very different space from what she’s used to, and where we’re used to seeing her; dealing with Amanda Waller and this new Suicide Squad is going to force her to decide what kind of hero she wants to be, and what she is willing to sacrifice to save the future.” Suicide Squad: Dream Team #1 will be released in print and digitally on March 12, 2024.

‘Please,’ Eddie whispered, making Belle freeze. Her heart was thundering, blood roaring in her ears, and yet the single word cut through it all easily. Still, she couldn’t turn to look at him, couldn’t bring herself to reveal the tears rolling down her cheeks or the puffiness of her face.

She heard him walking slowly towards her, cautiously almost. As if it had been his fault Steve had made the comment. As if he were the one to start calling her a curse.

‘He’s wrong,’ Eddie told her softly, stopping a short distance behind her. ‘About all of it.’

‘You can’t know that,’ she dared to whisper. ‘You weren’t there.’

‘I do know it,’ he assured her, slowly moving to step around her, to place himself firmly in her line of sight. ‘You are not a curse, Claribel Barrow. You’re a good person.’

Belle wetted her lips, felt the fresh wave of tears rolling down her cheeks.

‘Please don’t let Harrington make you doubt that.’

She roughly wiped the fresh tears from her face and nodded once.

The ghost of a smile across his lips was almost enough to lift her mood.

‘I need to hear the words, Cinderella.’

A soft scoff escaped Belle before she swallowed and tried for a small smile. ‘I won’t let Harrington make me doubt myself.’

Eddie grinned, placed his hands firmly in his pockets. ‘Want me to tell your next teacher you got attacked by an elf or something?’

Belle properly laughed. ‘No thanks,’ she said, offering him a genuine smile this time. ‘But thank you, Eddie.’

He offered a smile and a salute. ‘Anytime, Belle.’
