I can't decide who's going to be more desperate, next year—Nico, who’ll show up at every race, reminding everyone he was the first Monégasque to know and beat Lewis, all while pretending to give Charles advice on handling Lewis and being a good teammate, secretly seething at how well they get along. Or Max just an inchedent Verstappen, who will never let anyone forget that Charles is the love of his life and that they were meant to race each other forever. Max will want to fight Charles for the championship, and seeing Charles battle Lewis—or worse, celebrating with him—will drive him wild. Max can't handle seeing his emotional support rival, in a corner giggling with Lewis Hamilton over some inside joke Max doesn’t get. "That should be me" will probably be playing on repeat in both the Verstappen and Rosberg households.
