Chapter: Together in Grief
Previous | Next
Keep on Reading.
Macie had just recently moved back into the castle two days ago, alongside Kristofer and their dog, Nixon, after receiving the devastating news of her parents' death. It was a bittersweet return, overshadowed by grief, which weighed heavily on her heart as she prepared to face the days ahead.
Then the day of the funeral arrived, and the atmosphere was thick with tension and unspoken emotions, like a storm cloud ready to burst.
The first hurdle was Nikita’s (Who is now a young adult) choice of funeral attire. Instead of the traditional black, she wore a pair of beige khakis, a green t-shirt, and a half green and red plaid overcoat—colors that seemed to defy the somber occasion.
“Because black is so boring at a funeral!” she declared defiantly, a splash of vibrancy in a sea of muted sorrow.
“Nikita, you know this is a tradition,” Macie said, her voice tinged with frustration. “We’re both giving eulogies. What will the press say?”
“I don’t care what they say! Mom and Dad wanted a private ceremony, so it’ll be okay,” Nikita shot back, her tone unwavering.
“Do you really think they’d want us to be sad and colorless?” Nikita challenged, crossing her arms. “They loved us for who we are.”
“But don’t you want to respect the dead?” Macie pressed, feeling her patience wane.
“You can respect someone in any color. It’s about what’s in here.” She gestured to her heart. “Not what you wear.”
Macie felt defeated, the weight of the day pressing down on her. “Fine. Have it your way,” she said, turning away. Deep down, she couldn’t shake the thought that these choices reflected deeper questions about their future roles—hers as a future queen and as a potential leader in her own right.
In the hallway, Kristofer waited, sensing the tension in Macie's posture. “Hey,” he said softly, offering a reassuring smile. “You look beautiful, even with everything going on.”
“Thanks,” she murmured, but it felt hollow. “Nikita’s being impossible, and I just... I don’t know how to handle everything.”
“Sometimes I think she wears her heart on her sleeve, even if it’s in plaid,” Kristofer said, trying to lighten the mood.
“More like a loud billboard,” Macie replied with a faint smile. “I just wish she understood the gravity of today.”
Kristofer took her hand, squeezing it gently. “You’re doing your best. Focus on celebrating your parents’ lives.”
His gentle squeeze was a reminder of their bond, a symbolic gesture of support amid the chaos and an echo of the responsibilities she would soon inherit.
As they made their way to the car, Don (Who is now a pre-teen) rushed past, confusion etched on his face. “Are we really doing this? A funeral? I thought it would be more... I don’t know, like a party or something.”
Macie knelt beside him, her heart aching for his innocence. “It’s a way to say goodbye. We’ll remember the good times, okay?”
“Like when Dad made those ridiculous faces?” Don asked, a hint of a smile breaking through his uncertainty.
“Yes, exactly! Those silly moments are what we’ll hold onto,” she said, ruffling his hair affectionately.
He nodded, but uncertainty clouded his brow, the gravity of loss clashing with youthful naivety. Macie couldn't help but ponder how she would guide him through these turbulent emotions as a future queen.
Nikita joined them, her outfit a bold statement against the grief surrounding them. “We’ll make it our own,” she said firmly. “Mom and Dad wouldn’t want us to be sad all the time.”
“Maybe not sad, but respectful,” Macie replied, trying to balance her sister’s spirit with the day’s weight.
“Respect can wear a little color, you know,” Nikita shot back, a playful smirk on her face.

Upon arriving at the funeral home in Ravenwood, the mood shifted. The somber atmosphere wrapped around them like a shroud. Inside, the air was heavy with the scent of lilies and roses, their vibrant colors stark against the muted tones of the grieving attendees. The flowers symbolize life and beauty amid sorrow, a reminder of the joy their parents brought to the world.
At the front of the room, two coffins stood side by side, adorned with delicate bouquets that framed their polished surfaces. Both were a deep mahogany, symbolizing the warmth and love each parent had brought into their lives.
In attendance were Kristofer’s sister Queen Adna of Moonwood Mills, the soon-to-be king of the Merfolk, Armando Sanders, and Queen Chloe, the leader of the vampires, who was the only one dressed in black—a stark reminder of the traditional roles they all played in life and death. Macie’s first younger sister, Betsy, had taken a day off from her university studies to be there.
As the service began, Macie noticed Kristofer sitting beside her instead of Don, who ended up at the back with Nikita. The funeral had started, and she chose not to speak out. She assumed Kristofer was there to support her, but a part of her felt the sting of exclusion for Don, a reminder of her impending responsibilities and how they would affect her relationships.
Taking a deep breath, Macie stepped forward. “Thank you all for being here,” she began, her voice trembling but steadying. “Today, we honor my parents, who taught us love, kindness, and the importance of family.”
She stood at the podium, heart racing, the earlier tension now overshadowed by grief. “Mom was the heart of Bridleton Bay,” she continued, her voice wavering. “She taught me the importance of kindness and service. Losing her feels like losing a part of myself.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her words painted a picture of the legacy her parents left behind, a tapestry woven with love and lessons that she now felt the weight of inheriting.
Tears streamed down her cheeks, and the room fell into a profound silence, allowing the weight of loss to settle in. Just as the moment of silence began, Don stood up to go to the bathroom, a fleeting distraction in the air.
Tumblr media
Halfway through the moment of silence, the door creaked open, and he returned, slipping back into his seat quietly. He cast a quick glance around the room before bowing his head. Nikita's annoyance resurfaced briefly, but she swallowed it. “Really, Don?” she whispered, but he didn’t hear her.
Nikita was next, stepping up to the podium with a bright smile that pierced through the heaviness. “Now, I’d like to share a few words about my dad, Tre Pruitt,” she began, her tone light and engaging.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She recounted a humorous incident involving her father and their dog. “I remember the time Rhea got attacked by a squirrel. Dad thought a homemade vaccine would be the solution. Let’s just say we ended up with a very confused dog and a lot of laughter.”
Her laughter served as a beacon of light in the darkness, reminding everyone that joy can coexist with grief.
Tumblr media
As she concluded, the warmth of her memories lingered in the air, and a moment of silence for Tre followed, a respectful acknowledgment of the lives both Queen Elaine and Tre had touched.
As the memorial came to an end, a somber procession began. Macie stood there, tears in her eyes, as both coffins were gently lowered into the ground. The act of lowering the coffins symbolized the final goodbye, a transition from life to memory, a poignant reminder of mortality that weighed heavily on Macie’s heart.
She shared a bittersweet farewell with Don and Kristofer, the weight of their loss almost unbearable. “I’m going to miss them so much,” Don whispered, his voice cracking.
“Me too, little brother,” Macie replied, wrapping her arm around him. “But we’ll keep their memories alive together.”
Nikita had stepped out briefly to collect herself but returned just in time, her eyes glistening with tears. “We’ll find a way to make them proud,” she said, her voice steadier now. “Together.”
Together, they shared their final goodbyes, united in love and loss, the internal conflicts of the day intertwining with their shared grief.
In that moment, they realized that while their parents were gone, their love and lessons would forever remain etched in their hearts. Macie felt the burden of these lessons—how they would shape her reign, her choices, and her ability to lead with love and compassion in the face of adversity.
Nikita had stepped out briefly to collect herself but returned just in time, her eyes glistening with tears. She looked at Macie and Kristofer, her voice steadying. “We’ll find a way to make them proud,” she said, her determination shining through her grief. “Even if I’m off at university soon, I’ll always be here for you both.”
Macie nodded, feeling a swell of gratitude for her sister's support. “We’ll figure it out together,” she replied, looking at Kristofer, who gave her a reassuring smile. “No matter what happens next, we’re family.”

There's just something so fascinating about the way the Exandrian pantheon has decided to handle the Aeor Situation™ - by electing a few of their kind to be born as mortals in order to infiltrate the city.
The first to bring herself low was Ioun, and I can only imagine how lonely that must have been for her. To feel infinite wisdom creeping into her adolescent mind? To rise through Aeor's ranks knowing what they'd do to her if the authorities discovered the truth of her existence? Waiting, hoping, perhaps even praying that the other gods would follow through with the plan.
Sarenrae has a husband and children as Trist. I can't help but consider the parallels to Liliana Temult, with a 'higher calling' pulling a mother away from her family. The conversations in the temple suggest that she would have been aware of what she was by the time she started her family. Yet she loves them, cherishes them, even knowing that she might not see them again. Will Amaris, Haylie, and Topher learn that Trist is a goddess? Or will that only be discovered when they find their way to her realm in Elysium?
The Matron was once mortal, and she willingly returned to that form in order to help her newfound siblings dismantle the Aeorian threat. Her steward since childhood was Purvan, helping raise and guide her despite his old age. Imagine being a little girl, guarded by the Champion of Ravens himself and his wolven companion, completely unaware of your own divinity until later in life. Imagine the night she woke up, remembering her ascendency, seeing Purvan and recognising him.
And what of the families that gave birth to and raised the four Betrayer Gods? What of the halfling family who watched their precocious daughter scale a fence with far too much ease than it should be? The day the tortle's parents found him crying in pain and tearing at his skin to distract himself from a memory so distant and yet so real? Or Milo, who became a priest, not to follow in the light of the Dawnfather (like his parents may have thought), but to mock his brother even as a mortal?
These gods spent entire childhoods with families and friends, taking refuge from the skirmishes caused by their other siblings. Who, despite those similarities, have very different opinions of humanity, of Aeor, and themselves.

Chinese Beauty Couches 美人榻 (Měirén tà) /Concubine Chaise Lounges 贵妃榻 (Guìfēi tà)
Tumblr media
Since their origination in Tang Dynasty, these day beds were popular among aristocratic women of China. In costume dramas you often see scenes of noble ladies taking quite aesthetic naps on them, reading books, fanning themselves etc. There are several types.
I have an ongoing collection of such scenes from dramas lol something about them is quite alluring but ALSO funny to me at the same time 🤣 This post will be continuously updating till I reach the tumblr image limit (30), let's see how long that will take!

Or one can sprawl on the Luohan Bed 罗汉床 (Luóhàn chuáng) -though less comfortably- if too lazy to move onto even the couch 😆

Hot take: Even though I love that he beat the Miquellallegations, pre-dlc Mohg was so much better and had a lot to go for in terms of power, potential and how conniving and dedicated he was to achieve his goal. I miss him.
Also the premises for a Lord of Blood ending were right there. It would've been an interesting alternative option where you as a player, not only as a Tarnished, are giving up both your role as main character and your quest to become Elden Lord, thus letting someone else seize that opportunity.
I understand Miquella's plan for godhood and the creation of a gentler world (which is still ultimately destined to fail if we intervene and avoid having our heart stolen by him), but it removed so much agency from Mohg in particular, in my opinion.

The Kingdom of Kush in the Sudan was known for its horses, which were a symbol of power, status, and Kushite culture:
Horse burialsThe ceremonial burial of a horse in Tombos around 949 BC is an example of the horse's significance in Kushite culture. The horse was buried in an older tomb with tack and ornamentation, foreshadowing later royal horse burials.
Horse iconographyHorse iconography was used in state policy, conquest, and worship to visually represent the horse as a symbol of Kushite culture.
Assyrian recordsAssyrian records frequently mention Kushite horses, suggesting that Kush was the original breeding ground for horses.
Royal attentionThe Victory Stela of King Piy mentions the royal attention to horses.
Kushite king PiankhiWhen Kushite king Piankhi put down a rebellion in northern Egypt, he was enraged that his horses had been mistreated.
The Kush civilization was also known for its extensive trade routes, conquering Egypt during the twenty-fifth dynasty, and having an active influence of Egyptian culture.

Chapter: Meeting the Roommates
Previous | Next
Keep on Reading.
It’s around nighttime when Nikita got out of the car and approached her new home, “Little Castle.” She dragged her suitcase beside her, each step sending her heart racing with a mix of excitement and anxiety. The towering façade of the house loomed over her, a physical reminder of the expectations she felt pressing down. As she stood at the front door, about to knock, a voice interrupted her thoughts.
“Excuse me, but are you Princess Nikita of Bridleton Bay?”
Nikita turned to see a girl close to her height and age, with long brunette hair cascading over her shoulders. Instinctively, she straightened her posture, trying to project confidence despite her nerves. But inside, she felt like an impostor in a world that demanded perfection.
“Hi, I don’t mean to be rude, but do I know you?” Nikita replied, forcing a smile. Her palms felt clammy against the suitcase handle, betraying her calm façade. She longed for familiarity but was acutely aware of her outsider status.
“I’m sorry, I should have introduced myself first. My name is Skylar Reich. I’m from a family of barons and baronesses in Mt. Komorebi, and I am not an occult. I just came back from the library when I noticed you were going to the door. I’m one of your roommates.” Skylar spoke quickly, her excitement bubbling over, her eyes wide with enthusiasm.
“Nice to meet you,” answered Nikita, holding out her hand. As they shook, she felt a flicker of relief; maybe this place wouldn’t be so daunting after all. But as she looked into Skylar's eager eyes, a pang of insecurity hit her—what if she failed to fit in? The weight of expectations loomed like a shadow behind her.
“Can I take a picture of you?” Skylar asked, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
“Why not? How about I take a selfie instead?” Nikita suggested, trying to lighten the mood and ease her nerves.
“No… I want to capture the royal moment!” Skylar insisted, her tone playful, bouncing slightly on her heels.
Nikita chuckled, but a hint of confusion lingered. She wasn’t sure what "royal moment" meant in this context. “Okay,” she laughed, feeling the tension dissipate, if only slightly.
“Here, why don’t I do it,” said Nikita, taking out her phone. Both of them posed for a few seconds. Skylar then stepped in front of her, pulled out her keys, and opened the door.
Tumblr media
“Guess who's here?” she announced, her voice ringing with enthusiasm as she swung the door wide, revealing the chaos inside.
As Nikita cautiously walked in with her suitcases, she took a deep breath. The large kitchen greeted her first, its beige walls and polished hardwood floors creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. A small black table placed on the right was surrounded by four wooden chairs. The layout had a wall that separated both the kitchen and the living room, except for an open area where a desk stood, and not too far away was the spacious living area, where a giant screen TV dominated one wall, and a huge orange sectional seemed to beckon everyone to lounge together. She saw Holden sitting there shirtless and watching TV on a giant screen.
The moment she stepped further in, the women noticed her and gathered around, enveloping her in warm hugs. Despite their enthusiasm, she felt a lingering sense of isolation, as if she were stepping into a world that didn’t fully welcome her. Their warmth felt genuine, yet she couldn't shake the fear that their kindness was superficial, a mask for the underlying competition she sensed among them. She smiled back, but her eyes darted around, taking in the other familiar faces.
“Your sister's just getting ready for her graduation dinner,” Madeline, a mermaid princess,  informed her, her voice soothing yet slightly distracted as she stirred a pot, brow furrowing in concentration.
“I’m going to be waiting for her since I’ll be the only family member watching her graduate,” Nikita replied, forcing a smile as she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. The thought of being alone in this new place made her chest tighten. She had hoped for a sense of family, yet here she was, feeling more like a spectator than a participant.
"Madeline, do you mind if I take a self with you?"
"Sure, why not!"
Tumblr media
“And you are starting school yourself,” Cornelia, a werewolf princess and sister to the queen, chimed in with a bright grin. “That’s exciting!”
“Um hm, I’m going to be a computer major soon,” Nikita said, trying to sound enthusiastic but feeling the weight of expectations settle on her shoulders like a heavy cloak. It felt suffocating, the pressure to excel and prove herself, especially when all she wanted was to find her place.
Nikita turned to face Cornelia. “Where’s your soon-to-be wife, Rory?”
“She is upstairs studying. She’ll be down in just a moment. Do you have any more luggage?” Cornelia asked, her tone practical and warm, hands busy with preparations.
“Yeah, there’s still some more back in the car.”
“Why don’t we all go and help her move in?” Panagiota, who is also Cornelia’s sister, suggested, her voice encouraging, and Nikita felt a flicker of gratitude at their willingness to help. It was a small comfort, a reminder that perhaps she wasn't entirely alone in this new chapter.
“Let’s do that,” Skylar agreed.
“Here’s my car keys,” Nikita said, handing them over with a smile, her enthusiasm infectious.
All the women left to go outside to help her out.
Nikita then walked into the living area, and that’s when Holden looked up from the TV, with a casual posture that made her feel both amused and slightly uncomfortable. Holden is Madeliine’s twin brother and the future king of the Merfolks in Sulani. The sight of him made her acutely aware of her own insecurities—was she expected to be as carefree?
“Hey,” he said, waving his hand. “Welcome to the chaos,” he added with a shrug, clearly unfazed by the commotion.
Nikita felt a mix of amusement and discomfort at his nonchalance. “Thanks,” she said, her voice slightly shaky. It was as if he was a part of this chaotic world she was trying to navigate, yet he seemed so at ease.
“So, what is it like being the only boy living with a bunch of rich sorority girls?” she asked sarcastically, trying to mask her anxiety with humor, her lips curling into a smile.
“It’s good, with the exception of listening to you women talk about your periods. That’s when I will be out of the room,” he replied, a smirk on his face, his casual demeanor putting her slightly at ease.
“Don’t worry about it; you won’t be the only guy in ‘Little Castle’ for long. I know that Cornelia’s and Pangoita’s brother Jakov, Tate Graywind, Kenny Masters, and Barrette Herring are in their final year of high school. Well, of course, Barrette’s twin, Layla, is going to join. So you and your twin won’t be the only ones anyway. And I almost forgot that Summer Ember is also in her final year of high school too,” she reassured him, her tone light and playful. The thought of more people around her was both comforting and daunting—would they accept her?
“So you’re more into royal gossip,” he teased, raising an eyebrow, a playful challenge in his voice.
“Not really; I hate the press myself. I just know from being in the inner circle, sort of thing,” she replied nonchalantly, her confidence growing in their banter. But beneath her bravado, she felt the weight of expectations and the pressure to maintain her image.
“Want to take a selfie?” she asked suddenly, feeling a surge of spontaneity.
“Sure,” he replied, a grin breaking across his face. He got up from the sectional, and she snapped the picture, capturing not just their faces but the moment—a shirtless Holden, carefree and relaxed, adding a playful edge to the image. Yet, as she looked at the photo later, she wondered if it was a façade, just like her own smile.
Tumblr media
Just then, a familiar voice called out.
“Nikita, you’re here!” Betsy exclaimed, descending the stairs with her hair in a high bun, looking ready for a formal event. She wrapped her arms around Nikita tightly, almost knocking the breath out of her.
“How’s everyone doing since Mom and Dad died?” Nikita asked softly, her voice barely above a whisper, her heart aching at the mention of their absence. The weight of loss loomed heavily, a reminder of the fragility of happiness in this new place.
“Everyone’s doing fine.” But then she felt the air shift uncomfortably as Betsy’s emotions turned negative while glancing at Holden. A knot formed in Nikita's stomach; she didn’t want to be pulled into any roommate or family drama, especially not now. The tension hung in the air like a storm cloud, threatening to overshadow her tentative optimism.
“How about Macie now that she has all the responsibilities of a queen and is soon to be married?” Betsy asked, trying to change the subject, her smile wavering slightly.
“Well, she’s still getting the hang of the whole queen thing,” Nikita answered, attempting to keep the mood light, her voice steady despite the turmoil inside. Yet, she couldn’t shake the feeling that everyone was watching her, waiting for her to perform, to be the perfect princess.
Nikita took a quick selfie with Betsy.
Tumblr media
All the women returned, carrying the luggage that Nikita had brought.
“Why don’t you just leave them all here, and my sister and I will come back from dinner, and that’s when I’ll unpack?” she suggested, hoping to find a moment of peace. A moment where she could breathe without the weight of expectation pressing down on her.
“Aren’t you going to dress up like your sister?” Madeline asked, her tone slightly teasing, a playful glint in her eye.
Nikita rolled her eyes at the thought of how sick she was of conforming to royal expectations. “No, I will be fine the way I am,” she replied defiantly, crossing her arms as if to shield herself from judgment. Deep down, she feared that her refusal to conform would only draw more attention to her differences.
“You'll always be the rebel, Nikita,” Betsy said, a playful grin on her face. “Now let’s go.”
As they prepared to leave, Nikita spotted Rory Oakov coming down the stairs, looking up from her phone.
“Hey, Rory! Can we take a quick selfie?” Nikita asked, a newfound excitement bubbling up. It was a small act of defiance, a chance to assert her identity in this whirlwind of expectations.
“Of course!” Rory replied, smiling brightly as they posed together, capturing another memory in this whirlwind of a day. But as she looked at the picture, Nikita wondered if this would be a moment she could cherish or yet another reminder of the pressure she felt.
Tumblr media
And they went out the door, leaving Nikita standing in the entrance of “Little Castle,” her heart racing as she wondered what her new life would hold. Would she find her place, or would she remain an outsider in a world that felt both thrilling and terrifying?
As the door clicked shut behind them, a chilling draft swept through the front yard, sending a shiver down her spine. She glanced back at the chaos they had left behind, her heart pounding harder.
What secrets lay hidden within these walls, waiting to unravel its carefully constructed façade?

Voilà. The vision I was bestowed upon and am obligated to transmit to the people.
Legit. If he smiled like that. My heart would have melted. Legit. I would have fuckin died.
His smile would either be terrifying or incredibly radiant and heartwarming.
I don’t usually do expressions so I am very proud of this one.

Oh, brother...aka keeping it in the (royal) family
I recently realized that for some reason “multiple brothers one girl” seems to be a popular category in costume dramas. I am not sure why such sharing is necessary in a polygamous society for fancy royals each of whom can get himself a whole harem, but I am not complaining that it appears any remake of the Hollywood classic “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” would clearly be changed into “One Bride for Seven Brothers, and Some of the Brothers Spit Blood and Die” if it were a cdrama. Here are some of the dramas at issue.
Liu Shi Shi appears to be the queen of this subgenre to such an extent that I am vaguely wondering if it’s in her contract. We are gonna start with THREE of her dramas:
Bu Bu Jing Xin - Liu Shi Shi has not one, not two, but THREE hot royal brothers, played by Nicky Wu, Kevin Cheng and Lin Gengxin, pine for her time-traveling self. Since this is an exquisite (no, seriously, it’s amazing) period piece about loss and longing, she ends up with none of them, instead of a hot vagely-’cesty gangbang as one might expect from that set-up.
Tumblr media
Lost Love in Times - poor Liu Shi Shi, she’s a sexy witch having to pick between William Chan and his shady brother Joe Xu. To make it even trippier, the two actors look like each other, to really hammer the whole “siblings want her” theme.
Tumblr media
The Imperial Doctress - why bust what’s not broken? It’s the true and tried Liu Shi Shi and hot royal brothers formula. She’s a doctor who spends most of her time practicing medicine, escaping barbarians and creating feminism, not noticing that as she pines for one royal brother played by Huang Xuan, another royal brother, played by infinitely hotter Wallace Huo, is pining for her.
Tumblr media
Gong/Jade Palace Lock Heart - if Liu Shi Shi is the queen of that set up, Feng Shao Feng is the king, what with this and Military Seal, both of which star Yang Mi. Clearly, there are worse ways to make a career than stealing Yang Mi from a royal brother. Here, Yang Mi is a spunky time traveler in the middle of Kang Xi’s sons’ fight for the throne. She first falls for Four but ends up with Eight. In between, she offers to bang Four to save Eight as one does. Gives a whole new meaning to sharing is caring and “have you brought enough for the entire class?”
Tumblr media
Legend of the Military Seal - Yang Mi and FSF strike again. FSF is madly in love with his brother’s wife, and since she’s not afflicted by blindness, she shares his feelings. Surprisingly, but delightfully, happy ending ensues.
Tumblr media
Who Rules the World - more like which brother rules awesome Zhao Lusi’s heart. Going by the rule of “hottest brother wins,” Yang Yang gets the girl in a drama that is pretty yum yum.
Tumblr media
Colourful Bone - one hot seriously whumped out royal brother and one whiny immature one, oh who should the heroine pick? This drama stands for the proposition that you should protect and save abused people, especially if they are hot men, since they will always turn out to be an emperor in disguise. This drama btw is one giant kinkfest for yours truly.
Tumblr media
The Eternal Love - you could make THREE whole seasons out of timetravel and brothers into the same girl, who knew.
Tumblr media
Dreaming Back to the Qing Dynasty - if you’ve seen Gong or BBJX, you know the drill. Horde of queued brothers queueing for the heroine.
Tumblr media
(Mine and all my brothers’, that is -Ed.)
Princess Jieyou - Yuan Hong narrowly escaped the curse of fancying his brother’s woman in BBJX, being about the only sibling not in love with LSS in that one. But clearly, you can’t fight fate and shortly thereafter he’s got to be a sister-in-law luster in a drama of his very own. He is a barbarian general who falls in love with a woman only to discover she’s to marry his brother. Angst and deliciousness and eventual happy ending (the husband fulfilled the uglier brother’s duty by eventually kicking the bucket.)
Tumblr media
The Promise of Chang’an - if you want to watch brothers with the same woman but no happy ending, and have already watched BBJX, I present this recent drama where Cheng Yi gets to, as always, suffer beautifully watching the woman he loves marry his annoying brother. Pretty much everyone dies at the end of this one, going off to a great big threesome in the sky.
Tumblr media
Twisted Fate of Love - will Sun Yi pick the delicate Tan Jianci or the sexy as fuck bastard that is Jin Han? Being a smart woman, she picks the latter and my hormones rejoice.
Tumblr media
Go Princess Go - this is a drama that parodied every cliche there is, so why not brothers into one woman? Who is actually a man in a woman’s body making it even more delightful!
Tumblr media
Ashes of Love - even being divine, with women from three separate realms available will seemingly not prevent love interests being a scarce resource leading to sibling love rivalry. Deng Lun and Luo Yunxi duke it out ostensibly for Yang Zi but in reality for who can suffer more prettily. Deng Lun might get the girl, but LYX wins the suffering crown, so it all more or less evens out.
Tumblr media
Princess Silver - are siblings in love with the same woman not spicy enough for you? How about TWINS in love with the same woman? One awesome (Aarif Rahman) and one psychotic (Jing Chao) want our heroine and both marry her at one point. Only the awesome one gets to bang her though. (But the psychotic one gets to stick meathooks through his brother in compensation for not being able to stick...ummm...meathook through the heroine, so it’s all OK.)
Tumblr media
Secret of the Three Kingdoms - and now we are gonna go REAL PERV! If twins are not enough for you, seekers of strong sensations, how about IDENTICAL twins? Ma Tianyu replaces his dead identical twin brother as the last Han emperor and gets to woo Wan Qian (whose plan it was in the first place.) At least she doesn’t need to get used to a new face?
Tumblr media
We are gonna end here and not get into father and son sharing the same woman a la Empress of China.
Tumblr media
(Congrats to Aarif Rahman for getting to bang both his brother’s and his father’s wives on screen. That is an interesting niche.)

I hate all these changes so much and not in a "it's change and I don't like change!" way. She's legitimately cut most of my favorite songs/bits, keeps paying dust to my favorite albums, and all for what's probably just gonna be songs from the first half (aka the inferior half) of TTPD. I've really waffle between fan and hater of this woman for so many years and I'm leaning towards the latter rn because wtf is she DOING
