King Felix Flores of Ravenwood stood at the edge of his grand castle, the weight of mortality pressing down on him like a dark cloud. Since he is a senior, he could feel the fragility of life in every creak of the ancient stones around him. The flickering shadows danced on the walls, echoing the turmoil of a man who never imagined that his entire family would perish alongside him. All it took was one fateful dinner of poisoned pork, the malicious act of a trusted butler driven by jealousy and ambition. Now that treacherous servant languished in a cold, dark cell, condemned to life imprisonment, while Felix, his family, and even his beloved cat, Duchess -who had also fallen victim to the poison, drifted through the castle’s haunting halls as restless spirits.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Felix had ruled Ravenwood with his wife until she passed away ten years ago, leaving a void that echoed through the castle. He had hoped to see her ghost, a sign that their love transcended death, but she never appeared. The absence of her spirit weighed heavily on him, intensifying his feelings of loneliness.
Five years ago, during a typical family supper, they tasted pork that had a strange flavor. Shortly after, Felix and his family found themselves in the afterlife, where they learned the truth of that fateful meal.
In their ghostly forms, Felix asked the Grim Reaper if they could still rule over Ravenwood, and to his surprise, the Grim Reaper agreed. Now, they haunted the halls of Flores Castle, with living butlers they still trusted to serve them. Yet Felix often wondered about the butler’s fate—was it fair to condemn a man for his actions driven by dark feelings? This uncertainty lingered, intertwining with his thoughts about the legacy he would leave behind.
Despite this spectral existence, Felix was uncertain about how long he would rule Ravenwood as a ghost. He often pondered, Do ghosts die? Do ghosts get reincarnated?
The philosophical questions weighed on him, reflecting his struggle to accept his new reality.
“I don’t want to burden you all,” he confessed one evening, gazing into the distance. “What if I’m holding you back from your lives?”
“Dad, you’re not a burden,” Polly reassured him, adjusting her glasses. “We’re a family. We face this together.”
Felix’s heart swelled with pride but also turmoil. “But what if I leave you with a legacy of ghosts? I want you to thrive, not just haunt these halls.”
Polly sighed, her spirit flickering. “We’ll find a way, Dad. You raised us to be strong. We’ll carry on your legacy, even if it’s in a different form.”
The burden of leadership weighed heavily on his spectral shoulders. Polly, the one with glasses, had been married twice. Her first marriage produced the future heir to the throne, Tate Greywind. Unfortunately, that marriage ended quickly due to their differences, but at least her ex-husband was still alive. Polly, a loyal and free-spirited woman, embraced a new lifestyle, dating younger men, including her second husband, Lance Beckford, a handsome software engineer. Together, they had Kili, a lively little girl. Polly’s desire to be a strong matriarch often conflicted with her goofball nature, leading her to seek joy even in their ghostly existence. Her laughter often masked the weight of her responsibilities and the fear of not living up to the legacy her father had built.
Then there was Alice, Felix’s youngest daughter, who was still unmarried. Felix doubted she would ever marry now that she was dead, but one could never tell. Alice was affectionate and wants to have kids someday (Can ghosts ever get pregnant?), yet her lazy tendencies often kept her from pursuing relationships.
“I feel like I’m fading away,” Alice admitted one evening, tending to the castle’s garden. “What’s the point of being a ghost if I can’t even connect with anyone?”
Felix approached her, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. “Your spirit is as vibrant as ever, my dear. You may not see it, but those who love you will always remember.”
Alice sighed, her thumb brushing against the wilted flowers. “But will they remember the real me? Or just the ghost I’ve become?”
Felix couldn’t shake the fact that both of his grandchildren were also ghosts. He had thought they would carry on the family legacy, but now they were both trapped in the afterlife. He wondered if Kili would ever grow up; the Grim Reaper assured him she would. Even as a ghost, Kili was a talkative little girl, always eager to explore. Her geeky interests and love for adventure made her an endless source of energy and curiosity.
Kili darted around the room, effortlessly soaring high above the ground, her laughter echoing through the castle. Felix watched her, a mix of pride and concern swelling in his chest. He couldn't help but feel protective, knowing how easily things could go wrong in their current state.
Tate, the heir to the throne, was your typical teenager—or rather, he had been one. He is preparing to attend Britechester University soon. Felix wished Tate could have experienced that while alive, but now he was navigating university life as a ghost. With his punk look, he embodied a free spirit, eager for independence.
“Do you think they’ll accept me as I am?” Tate asked one night, looking contemplatively at the stars. “Or will I just be a shadow?”
“You’ll be more than that, Tate,” Felix replied firmly. “You have the heart of a leader. Embrace who you are, even in this form.”
Tate’s genius intellect often made him curious about the world, but his squeamish nature sometimes held him back from fully engaging in ghostly antics. He grappled with the reality of attending classes as a ghost, worried about how he would fit in with living students. Would they accept him? What if he became a mere shadow of himself? These questions plagued him, adding to the complexity of his identity as both a ghost and a member of the Flores legacy.
Despite their predicament, Tate and Kili found joy in their ghostly existence, scaring friends and playing practical jokes. “Hey, Kili, let’s see how many times we can make the living scream today!” Tate suggested, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.
“Yeah! Let’s do it!” she cheered, eyes wide with excitement.
Felix often reminisced about a photo from three years ago, capturing the family at a futuristic amusement park—before Tate aged up into his ghostly form. This memory served as a bittersweet reminder of their past and the joy they once shared.
In a bid to create lasting memories, Felix decided to take the family on one last vacation together before Tate leaves to go to university. He booked a one night and one day retreat at a charming lodge nestled among the vibrant autumn foliage of Granite Falls and its rustic charm. The rich reds, oranges, and yellows of the leaves enveloped the landscape as if nature were celebrating their reunion. Felix hoped this trip would reaffirm their family bonds and legacy, providing a sense of purpose amid their ghostly plight.
_____
They arrived at the retreat late at night and quickly found their beds to rest in. They even brought Duchess with them. The following day, they explored Granite Falls, soaking in the sights and sounds of nature. The crisp air was filled with the scent of woodsmoke and fallen leaves, and as they walked through the trails, Felix felt a comforting sense of nostalgia wash over him, reminding him of the simpler times when life was full of promise and love.
“Mom would have loved this place,” Polly said wistfully, looking out over the autumn landscape during their retreat. “She always had a thing for nature.”
Felix nodded, feeling a pang of nostalgia. “She taught you how to find beauty in everything. You’ve inherited that from her.”

When night fell, Kili immediately jumped on a bike, while Tate prepared popcorn. Polly sat nearby, crocheting, and Alice explored one of the rooms in more detail. Felix and Lance relaxed outside, sharing stories under the stars, their conversations drifting towards their views of the universe.
Tumblr media
“Look at all those stars,” Felix said, his voice filled with wonder. “It’s like a glimpse into eternity.”
Lance nodded, his eyes reflecting the starlight. “Do you ever think about what lies beyond them? It’s both beautiful and humbling.”
“Absolutely,” Felix replied, a hint of nostalgia in his tone. “It makes me wonder about the legacy we leave behind. Do you think our family will be remembered?”
“I believe so,” Lance said thoughtfully. “Your family’s story is too rich to fade away. It’s the love and memories that matter.”
Felix smiled, feeling a sense of peace wash over him. “You’re right. It’s comforting to know that even in death, our bonds endure.”
As Polly crocheted, pesky flies buzzed around her. She swatted them away playfully. “Even ghosts can get annoyed by living bugs,” she laughed, her voice light. “At least we don’t get bitten!”
Then, feeling bored, Polly sought out her husband. In a romantic mood, she whisked Lance upstairs for some private time together, leaving the others to enjoy their evening. Polly’s loyalty to her family often led her to prioritize their needs, but she also craved moments of intimacy and connection, reflecting her struggle to balance personal desires with familial obligations.
Meanwhile, the popcorn was ready. Tate settled into one of the outdoor chairs shaped like a log and turned on the giant screen TV. He watched a college comedy movie, laughing while Felix joined him but found little humor in it.
Tumblr media
“Grandpa, you’ve got to lighten up! It’s just a movie!” Tate said, grinning. “Besides, it’s not like we have anything else to do.”
“True, but I can’t help but think about what we’re missing,” Felix replied quietly. “What kind of life are you all going to lead as ghosts?”
Flies continued to bother them, adding to the evening’s chaos. Tate’s peaceful demeanor was tested by the distraction, but he enjoyed the lightheartedness of the moment, a brief respite from the heaviness of their existence.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After her bike ride, Kili rushed to the slide for more fun. Just then, they heard a car arrive at the retreat. Out jumped the living nanny, whom Felix had forgotten he invited to watch over Kili. The little ghost ran up and began chatting excitedly with him, her enthusiasm infectious.
Tumblr media
As they gathered to play horseshoes, Kili’s playful spirit shone through. She decided to show off her ghostly abilities, causing a momentary hush among the adults. Felix’s heart raced, panic rising within him as he realized the implications of her powers. This moment crystallized his fears regarding their ghostly existence and the potential dangers they faced.
Tumblr media
“Kili, be careful!” he admonished, anxiety creeping into his voice. “You have to learn to control your powers!”
Kili's eyes widened, and she stammered, “I just wanted to show him what I can do!”
Felix felt the weight of responsibility bearing down on him. What if Kili couldn’t control her abilities? What if she harmed someone for real? However, the nanny did wake up from his unexpected slumber, which Felix exhaled in relief.
Tumblr media
As the night continued, they gathered around the fire pit, roasting marshmallows. Alice entertained Kili with folktales, reminding them all of their cherished family bonds, even in the afterlife. Alice's love for storytelling brought warmth to the chilly night, and her affectionate nature made sure that Kili felt loved and included.
Tumblr media
“Tell us another story, Aunt Alice!” Kili pleaded, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Alice smiled, her heart warming. “Alright, but only if you promise to help me remember the endings!”
Yet, as she told her stories, Alice couldn’t shake the feeling that she was merely a ghost in her own life, struggling to find her place even among her family. This sense of disconnection echoed Felix's own feelings about his legacy and the importance of being remembered.
As the fire crackled and stars twinkled above, Felix felt a sense of peace mixed with dread. Though they were ghosts, their family legacy would endure, and they would continue to make memories together—forever bound by love and laughter. Yet, as the flames flickered, he couldn’t shake the feeling that their ghostly adventure was only beginning.

Chapter: Temptation and Inspiration

⚠️ Content Warning⚠️
This chapter contains explicit sexual content, themes of desire, and elements of fantasy. Discretion is advised.
Phoenix is one of those creative types; once she gets an idea, she never stops. She had just come from her brother’s coronation, and all she could think about was Amir Blue.
Why do I keep letting my thoughts drift to him? she wondered.
He’s not just a distraction; he’s become a part of me. But what does it mean for a mermaid princess to be so entangled with a werewolf? The thought made her stomach twist. Can I really have a normal relationship when my life is dictated by royal expectations?
In her world, mermaids embody grace and duty, bound to the ocean and its traditions. As a princess, Phoenix feels the weight of expectation pressing down on her to marry within her kind, upholding the lineage and maintaining the balance of power beneath the waves. Yet all she craves is a simple, passionate love—something that feels impossibly out of reach.
At the coronation, the air had been thick with anticipation, the scent of sea salt mingling with exotic flowers. The dazzling array of shimmering gowns and regal attire was mesmerizing, but beneath the surface, Phoenix felt a storm brewing within her. As she watched her brother take the throne, pride and joy swelled in her chest, yet a pang of longing for freedom tugged at her heart.
Why can’t I be like everyone else? she thought, grappling with the sharp contrast between her lineage's expectations and her desire for a life driven by passion.
Thinking about how he makes her feel has become the inspiration for her current erotica novel. But still in the dress from the coronation, her hair up in a bun, she felt trapped.
I should change into something more comfortable, she thought, but the urge to write overpowered her. I can’t waste this moment; the words are flowing like water.

As the evening wore on, Amir came home late, not in the best mood. Just another night of dealing with pack issues, he thought, frustration simmering beneath the surface. Like most werewolves, he struggled to control his anger, a beast inside him always threatening to surface. The societal pressures were suffocating; he was expected to be a protector and a leader, yet the fear of losing control haunted him.
I don’t want Phoenix to see me like this, he mused. She knows I’m a werewolf, but that doesn’t mean she understands the beast within me. How can I keep her safe when I can’t even control myself?
Ever since moving in with her, everything about their relationship had revolved around physical desire. It was intoxicating but also terrifying. He could smell her from a distance.
She is in heat. Fuck, he cursed internally, feeling his body respond to her scent. Taking a deep breath, he shifted back into his human form. I have to get a hold of myself. If I don’t, I’ll make the same mistakes again like I did in the past.
He hesitated before entering the house, taking a moment to steady himself after the transformation.
She’s waiting for me, he reminded himself. I can’t let her down. But what if I lose control? What if I hurt her?

Phoenix was so wrapped up in her writing that she didn't immediately notice Amir entering the room, watching her type away. He was taken aback by her focus and beauty, her fingers dancing over the keyboard.
“Well hello there, handsome,” Phoenix said, looking up and flashing him a flirty smile.
“You know, if I were a vampire, I’d say you’re a tasty treat,” he replied, leaning against the doorframe with a playful smirk.
“You mean, I am a tasty treat? What would you do if I were a vampire?” she asked, stepping closer, her gaze locked onto his.
“I’d have you naked on the bed with my face between your legs, ready to eat your pussy,” he said, his voice dropping to a husky whisper.
“You don't have to wait until I’m a vampire. We can do that right now,” she said, her voice dripping with seduction as she walked up to him, feeling the heat build within her.
With that, he grabbed her and kissed her on the lips, their bodies pressing together, igniting a spark that sent shivers down her spine. They kissed deeply, lost in the moment, and she broke the kiss breathlessly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I was thinking about you the entire time at the coronation,” she confessed, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
“Oh really? What was I doing?” he asked, feigning innocence.
“You were sitting around, naked with your big cock on display, just waiting for me to come and pleasure you,” she teased, a wicked grin on her face.
“Really?” he raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
“Yup,” she replied, biting her lip.
Amir glanced around the dimly lit room. I should have set the mood.
“Do you want to shower with me?” he asked, his voice low and inviting.
She took his hand, leading him to the bathroom, her heart racing with excitement.
He always knows how to make me feel wanted, she thought.
He turned the shower on, the sound of water cascading filling the air, a gentle rhythm pulsing with their growing desire. As steam began to rise, he began to remove his clothes. Phoenix stood behind him, unzipping her dress and letting it fall, the fabric whispering against her skin.
I can't believe we’re about to do this, she thought, anticipation thrumming through her.
Amir stepped into the shower, watching as she slipped out of her underwear, revealing her naked body.
God, she’s perfect, he thought, desire overwhelming him. She’s everything I never knew I wanted, yet I fear I might ruin it all.
The hot water enveloped them like a lover’s embrace, steam curling around their bodies, thick and intoxicating. He could see her curves, her nipples hardening from the steam, and her pussy glistening with moisture.
Then she stepped into the shower and kissed him, taking his hand and guiding it to her pussy.
I’ve never craved anyone like this before, he realized, feeling her heat and wetness against his palm.
He kissed her deeply as he explored her, the sound of water splashing around them mixing with her soft gasps. His fingers slid in and out, her pussy swelling with the attention. She moaned in his ear, her breathing becoming more rapid, each sound echoing in the confined space, creating a symphony of pleasure.
I love making her feel this way, he thought, pride swelling within him, but what if she sees me as just a beast?
Then Amir stopped and turned her around. He got down on his knees, the warm water cascading over him as he inhaled the intoxicating scent of her arousal.
This is what I want; this is where I belong. He licked her pussy for what seemed like an eternity, tasting her juices as they mingled with the water. Her moans grew louder, and he felt powerful knowing he was the one making her feel this good. But am I just a fleeting pleasure in her life?
After a while, he stood up. She looked at him, her eyes filled with lust. He turned her around and pressed her against the wall, the cool tiles contrasting against their heated bodies as he inserted his cock inside her and began to thrust deep and hard.
She was getting close too. His moans echoed through the steam, and she matched his rhythm, breaths mingling in the humid air. Then he exploded inside her, and they both came together, the shower steaming hot from their passionate encounter.
Amir stepped out first and turned the water off. He reached for the towel and dried her off, feeling a sense of intimacy that transcended physicality. He took her hand and led her to the bedroom.
I want this to last forever, he thought, but I can’t help but wonder if I’m just a momentary escape for her.
Phoenix laid down on the bed, her head on the pillow and eyes closed.
That was incredible, she thought, relishing the afterglow. Amir got on top of her and started to kiss her. She opened her eyes and looked up at him, smiling.
This is what I want—this connection, she thought, feeling a sense of belonging.
“That was amazing. I have never cum so hard before,” she whispered.
“Me neither,” he said, smiling at her as she kissed him again, reaching over to pull him down onto the bed.
This is what I want—this connection, she thought, feeling a sense of belonging.
“So, tell me. What did you think of your brother's coronation?” he asked, brushing a strand of hair from her face.
“It was beautiful. And a lot of fun. The ceremony itself was very touching. My brother is going to make a wonderful king.”
“I’m glad you enjoyed it,” he said, relaxing back against the pillows.
“Thank you,” she replied, her heart full.
___________________________________
The next morning, Phoenix was the first to get up and headed straight to the pool. She couldn’t stop thinking about the night before. Every moment with Amir felt electric;
I can’t get enough, she thought, remembering that day at the celebrity event. But what mattered was what happened afterward, when they first had sex.
At the pool, she jumped in, her legs transforming into a fish’s tail. The water enveloped her, cool and refreshing, as she floated on her back, staring up at the sky. All she could do was think about Amir.
It’s just Amir and no one else, she mused. I’m glad I will never end up like my father or either of my two brothers, cheating and always with a different woman.
But how long can I keep this up? The thought gnawed at her.
Yet, Phoenix was here in the now, lying back in the water daydreaming. Amir came out, dressed in jeans and the jacket he got when he was playing professional football for Del Sol Valley.
Why is he wearing that in this heat? she wondered, but he was handsome no matter what he wore. Amir went to a lounge chair, sat, relaxed, and watched Phoenix float above the water as a mermaid.
She swam towards him. “How did you sleep last night?”
“Good. How did you sleep?” he asked, a teasing glint in his eyes.
“I slept well too,” she replied, splashing him playfully.
Amir took his jacket off and sat down at the edge of the pool. “So, what are we going to do today?”
“I’m not sure,” she said, biting her lip. What if I’m not enough for him?
“Why don’t we go shopping?” he suggested, his tone light.
“That sounds like a great idea,” she replied, her heart fluttering at the thought of spending more time with him. I hope he feels as deeply as I do.

Chapter:The New King Has Been Crowned
Previous | Next
All went according to plan with the coronation. Well, except that both Madeline and Kendra couldn’t make it due to school. Holden dressed up like a man should, but Armando felt the weight of the crown on his head—heavier than the gold itself.
As he stepped outside after the event, he was struck by the contrast between the festive atmosphere and the lingering grief from his father’s funeral just days before. The solemnity of that day still echoed in his mind—the soft murmurs of mourners, the scent of fresh flowers, and the heavy silence that enveloped them like a shroud. Now, the cheers and applause of the coronation rang in his ears like a distant memory, yet beneath the celebration lay the stark reality of loss. Armando felt like a jester in a royal court—celebrated yet haunted by the absence of the king who had passed.
He noticed a member of the paparazzi waiting for him. With a resigned sigh, Armando approached the photographer and kindly asked her to leave, feeling the familiar tug of responsibility pulling him in all directions. “Can you give me a moment?” he said, forcing a smile. “I just need a breather.”
She raised an eyebrow but, with a nod, stepped back. “Your Highness, just one photo?”
“Not today,” he replied, turning away, feeling the weight of the world pressing down on him.
The new king, Armando, wore a red suit that symbolized power, but all he could feel was the shadow of his father’s legacy looming over him. The coronation had taken place in the new banquet room, alive with laughter, clinking glasses, and vibrant decorations. Yet, he sensed that almost everyone wanted to be outside, perhaps to escape the bittersweet atmosphere that clung to the air.
Tumblr media
Standing around on the sand with Kristofer, Holden, and his trusted servant, who had the day off, Armando forced a smile. The servant was a very talkative fellow.
“Isn’t this just splendid?” the servant said, beaming. “A new king! You must be proud, Your Majesty!”
“Proud? Maybe,” Armando murmured, glancing at Holden. “It’s complicated.”
Kristofer chimed in, “Complicated? You just became king! Embrace it!”
Holden, arms crossed, shot Kristofer a look. “Easy for you to say. You’re not the one carrying the family’s legacy on your shoulders.”
“Come on, Holden,” Kristofer replied, his tone light. “It’s a celebration! Your dad’s the king now! Shouldn't we be enjoying this?”
“I guess,” Holden said, his voice barely above a whisper. “But I can’t shake the feeling that something’s off.”
Armando felt the weight of those words. “I know what you mean, son,” he admitted, looking out at the horizon. “But we have to keep moving forward. That’s what he would have wanted.”

Tumblr media
Inside, Katarina was engaged in conversation with Queen Cadence of the Aliens from Oasis Springs. They walked through the polished hallways, the atmosphere buzzing with excitement and anticipation. The lively chatter and bright decorations stood in stark contrast to the muted tones of the funeral.
“I hear both of your children are doing well in university,” Cadence said, her alien features glowing with enthusiasm. “My twins will be joining them soon. It feels like such a milestone.”
Katarina smiled, though a hint of sadness lingered in her eyes. “Yes, they’re finding their way. It’s a bittersweet time for us. I just wish it were a happier occasion.”
Cadence nodded, sensing the weight behind Katarina’s words. “With everything that’s happened, I can only imagine. But they’ll find their paths, just as yours have.”
Katarina’s smile faltered. “Sometimes I wonder if we’re all just pretending to be okay. Armando… he seems distant.”
“Distant how?” Cadence asked, tilting her head, genuinely curious.
“Like he’s putting on a show. I worry he’s burying his feelings,” Katarina confessed, her voice low.
Cadence furrowed her brow. “That’s understandable, but he needs support. Have you tried talking to him?”
“I’ve tried,” Katarina replied, frustration creeping in. “But he often brushes me aside. It’s like he’s afraid to face what’s really happening.”
---
Tumblr media
Later, as the festivities ended, Katarina sat on the couch at home, her phone in hand, feeling the weight of her conflicting emotions. She received a call from Madeline, who sounded regretful.
“Mom, I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there. How did the coronation go?” Madeline asked, her voice tinged with regret.
Katarina forced a smile, wanting to reassure her daughter. “It went well, sweetie. Your father looked... regal,” she replied, though the words felt hollow. “But it’s bittersweet without you and Kendra here.”
Madeline sighed. “I wish I could have seen it. How’s he holding up?”
Katarina hesitated. “He’s adjusting, but I worry he’s trying too hard to bury his feelings. You know how he can be.”
“Yeah, Dad always puts on a brave face,” Madeline said. “But it’s okay to feel sad.”
“Exactly,” Katarina replied, her heart heavy. “He needs to let himself grieve. I just hope he doesn’t lose himself in the process.”
As Katarina ended the call, she couldn’t shake the feeling that the celebrations masked deeper issues within their family. Would Armando ever truly change? She longed for a sign that things could be different, but doubt lingered like a shadow.
---
The sun began to set, symbolizing the end of a day filled with contrasts. The celebration continued—vibrant and filled with life—while the memories of the funeral lingered like a haunting melody in Armando's mind. Everyone had to leave—except for Holden, Armando’s brother Lloyd, and his roommate. As they boarded the boat to Sulani, Armando felt a mix of anticipation and dread.
“Ready for a night out?” Lloyd asked, clapping Armando on the back.
“Not sure if ‘ready’ is the right word,” Armando replied, forcing a chuckle.
The gentle sway of the boat mirrored his inner turmoil—would this night bring him solace or further complicate his feelings of guilt? As they cruised across the water, the salty breeze brushed against Armando's skin, mingling with the sounds of laughter from his companions. Each wave that lapped against the hull seemed to echo his conflicting emotions.
“Look at that sunset!” Lloyd exclaimed, pointing. “Perfect for a celebration!”
“Yeah, beautiful,” Armando said, but his mind was elsewhere. He caught snippets of conversation, light-hearted banter that felt foreign to him now, as if it belonged to another world.
Armando's thoughts drifted back to his father. Just days ago, they had laid him to rest, and now here he was, on the cusp of revelry. How could he reconcile this joy with the grief still fresh in his heart? Each smile he forced felt like a betrayal.
As they approached the Sand Bar, he felt the weight of expectation—his father's legacy pressing down on him. Was he truly ready to embrace the life of a king, or was he merely running from the pain?
When they arrived at the Sand Bar, the air was thick with the scent of tropical drinks and the sound of laughter, contrasting sharply with the somber atmosphere of the past week. The bar was packed with people, and Armando saw numerous beautiful women, their laughter ringing out like a siren’s call. He noticed one leaving, but as all four men approached the bar and ordered drinks, he felt the tug of temptation mixed with uncertainty.
“Let loose, Armando!” Lloyd encouraged. “You need this.”
“Yeah, just don’t go overboard,” Holden added, glancing at his father. “Remember why we’re here.”
“Thanks for the reminder,” Armando said, rolling his eyes but feeling the pressure rise.
As he stood there, he felt a familiar pull—a desire to escape the confines of his responsibilities. Armando was doing what he did best: flirting with other women. But when he saw a young brunette coming close to him, swaying her hips, he tried to get her attention, only to watch her flirt her way to his own son, who was still standing next to the bar with a drink in his hand.
Holden's heart raced, not from excitement but from a deep-rooted fear. But he was also excited that the beautiful brunette came to see him and smiled as she accomplished her goal by meeting a real prince. And he was looking straight into her eyes with excitement.
“To be young again,” Armando muttered, feeling a strange mix of envy and protectiveness.
Soon another woman caught Armando's eye. She was a blonde dressed in denim and a cowboy hat, standing alone. He approached her, introducing himself as the new king, yet even in that moment, he felt the weight of his title pressing down on him.
“What kind of king are you?” she teased, tilting her head, her smile inviting.
“The kind that’s still figuring it out,” he admitted, trying to sound light-hearted, but the seriousness hung in the air.
As Celene Huang introduced herself, Armando felt an unexpected thrill. Their conversation flowed effortlessly, charged with an energy that felt both exhilarating and dangerous. With each exchanged glance, the tension between them crackled like electricity. When she laughed at his jokes, he felt a flicker of something he hadn’t experienced in a long time—connection.
“Do you come here often?” he asked, trying to maintain a casual tone, but the question hung heavy with unspoken implications.
“Only when I need a break from reality,” she replied, her gaze steady.
“Same here,” Armando admitted, his heart racing as he opened up. “Tonight feels surreal, like I’m caught between two worlds.”
She leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a whisper seductively. “Maybe we can help each other escape.”
In that moment, he felt a rush of desire mixed with desperation. The allure of Celene became a balm for his grief, a chance to reclaim a part of himself he thought he had lost. The flirtation escalated, and soon they were standing close, their bodies nearly touching, the noise of the bar fading into the background.
As they moved away from the crowd, the warm night air enveloped them. Armando felt the weight of his father's legacy pressing down on him, but in Celene's presence, it seemed to lift, if only momentarily. The pull between them was undeniable; he could feel the gravity of her allure as they stood under the stars.
They found a small building, its door ajar, and stepped inside. The dim light cast shadows on the walls, making the space feel intimate yet charged with tension. One thing led to another, and soon they were lost in a moment of passion. The kiss was electric, igniting a fire within him that he had long buried.
---
Back at home, Katarina could feel the weight of her marriage pressing on her heart. She couldn’t shake the feeling of betrayal even as she watched the sunset, a reminder of the life they had built together.
“Why can’t he see how this hurts us?” she whispered to herself, tears brimming in her eyes.
In that tangled web of emotion—grief, desire, and responsibility—Armando struggled to reconcile the man he was becoming with the legacy he had inherited. The allure of infidelity felt like both a rebellion against the expectations of his title and a surrender to the pain he couldn’t face.
---
As he surrendered to the moment with Celene, he knew he was crossing a line, but the intoxicating allure of freedom was hard to resist. Each kiss and whispered promise felt like a step further away from the life he was meant to uphold, a dance on the edge of a precipice he could no longer ignore.
When they finally parted, Armando was breathless. His heart raced, the heat in his blood pulsing through him. Celene looked radiant, her eyes sparkling in the dim light. In that moment, the world seemed to shift and change, the lines between reality and fantasy blurred.
Would he face the consequences of his actions when the sun rose? How would this moment affect his relationship with Katarina and their children? And most importantly, could he truly carry the weight of his father’s legacy while entangled in the chaos of his own choices?
The questions loomed, casting long shadows over the night, leaving him to wonder if he was forging a new path or simply repeating the mistakes of the past.

Chapter: The Funeral
Previous | Next
Dying in your sleep is what most people fear, and that unfortunately happened to Lorenzo Sanderson, the king of the Merfolk of Sulani.
Being the heir to the throne, Armando was now in charge of organizing the funeral. He had help from his wife, Katarina, though their marriage felt more like a duty to preserve the bloodline than a union built on affection. As they walked through the preparations, Katarina glanced at him, her voice barely a whisper. “Are you sure you can handle this alone?”
Armando sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “I have to. It’s my responsibility now. Besides, you’re here with me.” But even as he said it, he felt the distance between them—a chasm widened by his infidelities.
Katarina tried to keep her head high in the face of Armando's actions, holding onto the hope that he might change, but deep down, she knew that hope was fading. “We can’t let this divide us today,” she said, forcing a smile. “Your father deserves our respect.”
-‐--‐-----------------------------
Their youngest daughter, Kendra, was still at school, unaware of the full weight of the day. “Try and get out of class as soon as you can before the funeral starts. I let your teacher and principal know that this is important to you,” Katarina had texted earlier, wishing she could shield her daughter from the grief that loomed. Kendra had always looked up to her grandfather, and the thought of her missing this moment made Katarina's heart ache.
As Kendra sat in the library, the chatter of her friends felt distant and hollow. “What’s wrong, Kendra?” one friend asked, noticing her distracted demeanor.
“I don’t know… I just feel weird today,” Kendra replied, her mind preoccupied with thoughts of her grandfather. She recalled the stories he used to tell her about the sea, about merfolk legends and adventures. She looked at the time on her smartphone.
“Look I have to go,” said Kendra as she gathered up her school supplies and put them in her backpack. “I’ve got a limo waiting for me right now.”
“See you tomorrow,” answered her friend.
___________________________
The merfolk funeral traditions were steeped in culture and carried profound significance. Always held outdoors, the ceremony took place near the water, where the spirits of the departed were believed to be released back into the depths of the ocean. The absence of a casket was striking; instead, the body was honored with a beautifully crafted tombstone or, in some cases, an urn. For Lorenzo, a majestic tomb adorned with an exquisite mermaid carving symbolized his connection to the sea.
As he organized the details, Armando felt the immense pressure of representing all the merfolk of Sulani. Would he measure up to his father? Time would tell.
As he arranged the seating, Armando’s gaze fell upon his son, Holden, who had just arrived with his twin sister, Madeline. “You made it,” Armando said, relief washing over him.
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world,” Holden replied, trying to mask his own tension. “We’re here for you, Dad.”
Madeline chimed in, “And for Grandpa. He always believed in us."
The immediate family occupied the front rows, with his twin brother and sister, Lloyd and Phoenix, seated nearby. His heart felt heavy as he took in the sprawling family dynamics; his father’s numerous relationships had created a web of connections that were often hard to untangle. On the other side of the aisle, beside him, sat Holden, the future doctor and heir to the throne, with Madeline and Katarina behind them.
Tumblr media
As the service began, the atmosphere was thick with emotion, and the family gathered in silence, preparing to honor Lorenzo. The weight of the moment hung in the air, leaving Katarina to wrestle with her conflicting feelings. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for the task ahead, knowing that the siren song, later on, would soon call forth the spirits of those who had passed before.
Tumblr media
When it was Armando’s turn to deliver the eulogy, he stood before his family and friends, the waves crashing softly against the shore behind them. “My father taught me that leadership is not just about power but about love and sacrifice,” he began, his voice strong but cracking with emotion. He stole glances at Katarina, whose expression was a mix of sorrow and unresolved tension. “He showed us how to value our connections, even when they’re complicated.”
Katarina’s heart ached as she listened. She wanted to support him but couldn’t shake the feeling that their unresolved issues loomed large between them. When he paused, she murmured, “You’re doing great, Armando,” but her tone was laced with unspoken frustration.
As the moment of silence drew near its end, Holden grew visibly agitated, nervously tapping his hand on the seat handle. “I can’t do this,” he muttered, his voice barely audible.
But something within him snapped, and he bolted from the ceremony. Katarina, noticing his distress, instinctively followed him. “Holden, wait!” she called, but he was already gone.
She caught up with him in what used to be the pool area, now transformed into a banquet room for Armando’s upcoming coronation. He buried his face in his hands, tears streaming down his cheeks. “I can’t—he's gone, and I didn’t even get to say goodbye,” he sobbed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Katarina approached him, her heart aching for her son. “I know, honey. It hurts. But you have to let it out.” She wrapped her arms around him, offering the comfort he desperately needed. For a brief moment, they were simply mother and son, united in their grief.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the end, it was Kendra who would let her grandfather's spirit return to the ocean. As the ceremony concluded, the three of them—Armando, Katarina, and Kendra—ventured into the water for the final farewell. The ocean shimmered under the sun, waves lapping gently at their sides. The two sets of Sanderson twins couldn't join in, as was the mermaid custom, because they had to go back to their busy lives.
As Kendra swam in the water, her heart pounding. She felt a mix of sadness and confusion. “I wish I could have said goodbye,” she whispered, her voice barely audible over the sound of the waves. The ocean felt vast and empty without her grandfather's stories echoing in her ears.
Katarina felt the weight of the moment and all the unspoken words between her and Armando. She began to sing the siren song, her voice a haunting melody that echoed their shared grief. “Lorenzo, guide us,” she sang, longing for healing—for her children and for the fragile bond she shared with Armando.
As they swam together, Armando felt a sense of unity wash over them, a moment of connection that transcended their individual grief.
In the embrace of the ocean, Kendra felt a sense of belonging as well, a connection to her family and the legacy of her grandfather. They stood together—bound by love, loss, and the hope for healing, even as the shadows of their unresolved conflicts lingered beneath the surface.
Tumblr media
As the sun began to dip below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, Armando stared out at the vast, open sea. A tumult of emotions swirled within him, and he pondered the fragility of their family ties. How easily they could fracture, like waves crashing against the shore. In that moment, he understood the weight of his choices and the impending decisions that lay ahead. With a heavy heart, he realized that while he yearned for connection, he was still drawn to the allure of escape.
As the last rays of sunlight faded, Armando felt a chill in the air, a reminder that the ocean held secrets just beneath its surface—much like his own life. The funeral had marked an end, but it had also opened the door to new beginnings, both promising and perilous. He turned back to his family, the weight of the moment pressing down on him, and he knew that the path forward would not be without its trials.
With lingering uncertainty, he took a deep breath, steeling himself for what was to come.

The Becketts
The youngest daughter of the Simblrs was the first one to branch out on her own and start her life. Always loving attention and admiring the rest of her famous family, she loved socializing and making friends. Which is why in high school, she became the most popular girl and built a following while being a cheerleader and dating the quaterback too, Liam.
As the star of his school, dating the most popular girl, everyone enviened him and imagined the perfect life he would live. And he technically did. Although scouted for a team right after graduation, he had a hard time climbing the ranks into a position that would support his growing family and their expensive life.
They married after high school, to no one's surprise. However, Liliana's following wasn't bringing as much money as she expected and Liam was struggling with his role as the water boy. And it didn't help that Liliana was a big believer of fake it 'till you make it, and no one could suspect the thruth based on her social media persona.
Initially wanting to be a lifestyle simfluencer like her aunt, Lina, she quickly realized her kids might be a better idea. But of course that wasn't the reason of why she had so many.
She was partially right.
The oldest Olivia, moved out before graduating to persue her dreams. She just lived nex door with her grandma, no worries.
Her twin Jaxon, recently moved in to the family residence in Windenburg with his girlfriend while they both pursue their degrees. Jaxon in acting and Tara in computer science.
The middle one Jaxon, is finally the oldest kid in the house and ready for some teen experiences. While the little Caiden and Lorenzo are still enjoying their childhood. And Lina, well as the youngest, she's the apple of everyone's eye.
Tumblr media
This household frame is something I've always wanted. Love to finally have another version because the previous bonus content I was not able to. This is where I'm getting my family portraits from now on.

Chapter: Meeting the Roommates
Previous | Next
It’s around nighttime when Nikita got out of the car and approached her new home, “Little Castle.” She dragged her suitcase beside her, each step sending her heart racing with a mix of excitement and anxiety. The towering façade of the house loomed over her, a physical reminder of the expectations she felt pressing down. As she stood at the front door, about to knock, a voice interrupted her thoughts.
“Excuse me, but are you Princess Nikita of Bridleton Bay?”
Nikita turned to see a girl close to her height and age, with long brunette hair cascading over her shoulders. Instinctively, she straightened her posture, trying to project confidence despite her nerves. But inside, she felt like an impostor in a world that demanded perfection.
“Hi, I don’t mean to be rude, but do I know you?” Nikita replied, forcing a smile. Her palms felt clammy against the suitcase handle, betraying her calm façade. She longed for familiarity but was acutely aware of her outsider status.
“I’m sorry, I should have introduced myself first. My name is Skylar Reich. I’m from a family of barons and baronesses in Mt. Komorebi, and I am not an occult. I just came back from the library when I noticed you were going to the door. I’m one of your roommates.” Skylar spoke quickly, her excitement bubbling over, her eyes wide with enthusiasm.
“Nice to meet you,” answered Nikita, holding out her hand. As they shook, she felt a flicker of relief; maybe this place wouldn’t be so daunting after all. But as she looked into Skylar's eager eyes, a pang of insecurity hit her—what if she failed to fit in? The weight of expectations loomed like a shadow behind her.
“Can I take a picture of you?” Skylar asked, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
“Why not? How about I take a selfie instead?” Nikita suggested, trying to lighten the mood and ease her nerves.
“No… I want to capture the royal moment!” Skylar insisted, her tone playful, bouncing slightly on her heels.
Nikita chuckled, but a hint of confusion lingered. She wasn’t sure what "royal moment" meant in this context. “Okay,” she laughed, feeling the tension dissipate, if only slightly.
“Here, why don’t I do it,” said Nikita, taking out her phone. Both of them posed for a few seconds. Skylar then stepped in front of her, pulled out her keys, and opened the door.
Tumblr media
“Guess who's here?” she announced, her voice ringing with enthusiasm as she swung the door wide, revealing the chaos inside.
As Nikita cautiously walked in with her suitcases, she took a deep breath. The large kitchen greeted her first, its beige walls and polished hardwood floors creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. A small black table placed on the right was surrounded by four wooden chairs. The layout had a wall that separated both the kitchen and the living room, except for an open area where a desk stood, and not too far away was the spacious living area, where a giant screen TV dominated one wall, and a huge orange sectional seemed to beckon everyone to lounge together. She saw Holden sitting there shirtless and watching TV on a giant screen.
The moment she stepped further in, the women noticed her and gathered around, enveloping her in warm hugs. Despite their enthusiasm, she felt a lingering sense of isolation, as if she were stepping into a world that didn’t fully welcome her. Their warmth felt genuine, yet she couldn't shake the fear that their kindness was superficial, a mask for the underlying competition she sensed among them. She smiled back, but her eyes darted around, taking in the other familiar faces.
“Your sister's just getting ready for her graduation dinner,” Madeline, a mermaid princess,  informed her, her voice soothing yet slightly distracted as she stirred a pot, brow furrowing in concentration.
“I’m going to be waiting for her since I’ll be the only family member watching her graduate,” Nikita replied, forcing a smile as she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. The thought of being alone in this new place made her chest tighten. She had hoped for a sense of family, yet here she was, feeling more like a spectator than a participant.
"Madeline, do you mind if I take a self with you?"
"Sure, why not!"
Tumblr media
“And you are starting school yourself,” Cornelia, a werewolf princess and sister to the queen, chimed in with a bright grin. “That’s exciting!”
“Um hm, I’m going to be a computer major soon,” Nikita said, trying to sound enthusiastic but feeling the weight of expectations settle on her shoulders like a heavy cloak. It felt suffocating, the pressure to excel and prove herself, especially when all she wanted was to find her place.
Nikita turned to face Cornelia. “Where’s your soon-to-be wife, Rory?”
“She is upstairs studying. She’ll be down in just a moment. Do you have any more luggage?” Cornelia asked, her tone practical and warm, hands busy with preparations.
“Yeah, there’s still some more back in the car.”
“Why don’t we all go and help her move in?” Panagiota, who is also Cornelia’s sister, suggested, her voice encouraging, and Nikita felt a flicker of gratitude at their willingness to help. It was a small comfort, a reminder that perhaps she wasn't entirely alone in this new chapter.
“Let’s do that,” Skylar agreed.
“Here’s my car keys,” Nikita said, handing them over with a smile, her enthusiasm infectious.
All the women left to go outside to help her out.
Nikita then walked into the living area, and that’s when Holden looked up from the TV, with a casual posture that made her feel both amused and slightly uncomfortable. Holden is Madeliine’s twin brother and the future king of the Merfolks in Sulani. The sight of him made her acutely aware of her own insecurities—was she expected to be as carefree?
“Hey,” he said, waving his hand. “Welcome to the chaos,” he added with a shrug, clearly unfazed by the commotion.
Nikita felt a mix of amusement and discomfort at his nonchalance. “Thanks,” she said, her voice slightly shaky. It was as if he was a part of this chaotic world she was trying to navigate, yet he seemed so at ease.
“So, what is it like being the only boy living with a bunch of rich sorority girls?” she asked sarcastically, trying to mask her anxiety with humor, her lips curling into a smile.
“It’s good, with the exception of listening to you women talk about your periods. That’s when I will be out of the room,” he replied, a smirk on his face, his casual demeanor putting her slightly at ease.
“Don’t worry about it; you won’t be the only guy in ‘Little Castle’ for long. I know that Cornelia’s and Pangoita’s brother Jakov, Tate Graywind, Kenny Masters, and Barrette Herring are in their final year of high school. Well, of course, Barrette’s twin, Layla, is going to join. So you and your twin won’t be the only ones anyway. And I almost forgot that Summer Ember is also in her final year of high school too,” she reassured him, her tone light and playful. The thought of more people around her was both comforting and daunting—would they accept her?
“So you’re more into royal gossip,” he teased, raising an eyebrow, a playful challenge in his voice.
“Not really; I hate the press myself. I just know from being in the inner circle, sort of thing,” she replied nonchalantly, her confidence growing in their banter. But beneath her bravado, she felt the weight of expectations and the pressure to maintain her image.
“Want to take a selfie?” she asked suddenly, feeling a surge of spontaneity.
“Sure,” he replied, a grin breaking across his face. He got up from the sectional, and she snapped the picture, capturing not just their faces but the moment—a shirtless Holden, carefree and relaxed, adding a playful edge to the image. Yet, as she looked at the photo later, she wondered if it was a façade, just like her own smile.
Tumblr media
Just then, a familiar voice called out.
“Nikita, you’re here!” Betsy exclaimed, descending the stairs with her hair in a high bun, looking ready for a formal event. She wrapped her arms around Nikita tightly, almost knocking the breath out of her.
“How’s everyone doing since Mom and Dad died?” Nikita asked softly, her voice barely above a whisper, her heart aching at the mention of their absence. The weight of loss loomed heavily, a reminder of the fragility of happiness in this new place.
“Everyone’s doing fine.” But then she felt the air shift uncomfortably as Betsy’s emotions turned negative while glancing at Holden. A knot formed in Nikita's stomach; she didn’t want to be pulled into any roommate or family drama, especially not now. The tension hung in the air like a storm cloud, threatening to overshadow her tentative optimism.
“How about Macie now that she has all the responsibilities of a queen and is soon to be married?” Betsy asked, trying to change the subject, her smile wavering slightly.
“Well, she’s still getting the hang of the whole queen thing,” Nikita answered, attempting to keep the mood light, her voice steady despite the turmoil inside. Yet, she couldn’t shake the feeling that everyone was watching her, waiting for her to perform, to be the perfect princess.
Nikita took a quick selfie with Betsy.
Tumblr media
All the women returned, carrying the luggage that Nikita had brought.
“Why don’t you just leave them all here, and my sister and I will come back from dinner, and that’s when I’ll unpack?” she suggested, hoping to find a moment of peace. A moment where she could breathe without the weight of expectation pressing down on her.
“Aren’t you going to dress up like your sister?” Madeline asked, her tone slightly teasing, a playful glint in her eye.
Nikita rolled her eyes at the thought of how sick she was of conforming to royal expectations. “No, I will be fine the way I am,” she replied defiantly, crossing her arms as if to shield herself from judgment. Deep down, she feared that her refusal to conform would only draw more attention to her differences.
“You'll always be the rebel, Nikita,” Betsy said, a playful grin on her face. “Now let’s go.”
As they prepared to leave, Nikita spotted Rory Oakov coming down the stairs, looking up from her phone.
“Hey, Rory! Can we take a quick selfie?” Nikita asked, a newfound excitement bubbling up. It was a small act of defiance, a chance to assert her identity in this whirlwind of expectations.
“Of course!” Rory replied, smiling brightly as they posed together, capturing another memory in this whirlwind of a day. But as she looked at the picture, Nikita wondered if this would be a moment she could cherish or yet another reminder of the pressure she felt.
Tumblr media
And they went out the door, leaving Nikita standing in the entrance of “Little Castle,” her heart racing as she wondered what her new life would hold. Would she find her place, or would she remain an outsider in a world that felt both thrilling and terrifying?
As the door clicked shut behind them, a chilling draft swept through the front yard, sending a shiver down her spine. She glanced back at the chaos they had left behind, her heart pounding harder.
What secrets lay hidden within these walls, waiting to unravel its carefully constructed façade?
