"Well, that was a kick..."

I can't believe it's been 10 years since the Carmilla webseries first graced the internet, it was such a funny and charming series that helped me come to terms with many things as well as keep me sane in college. I still remember running back to my apartment so I could watch the series finale with my brother and being so excited for Laura and Carm to reach their happily ever after. I was just so enchanted by their relationship and dynamic, so I was so eager to watch their relationship unfold and I even purchased the movie when it came out.

This month, I've been rewatching all three seasons (skipping season 0 because it doesn't exist) and the movie when the realization that it's been ten years finally dawned on me. I'm working on a bigger piece for Pride month so I couldn't spend time coloring this but I really wanted to post a quick sketch. There are so many cool characters in this series that I'll have to find time to draw, but Carmilla herself was always so captivating to me. I just have such a sweet spot for edgy alt girls and Carmilla is as broody and dark as they come, haha!

Just watched The Carmilla Movie for the first time. Obviously they got a much better budget than the web series but it’s still pretty low for a major feature film.

That was a very gay movie. The lead protagonists had some really great chemistry. Can’t wait to watch the web series to learn the full story for the both of them.

It was also a very creepy movie which is right up my alley. Dom acted their pants off in the role portraying a witch. Playing a badass supernatural villain suits them. Got to use their proper British accent too. Elle might have been an unhinged psycho but also very Haught.

Carmilla movie AU where everything’s the same except there’s a scene at the ball where LaFontaine and Perry are dancing and talking and super spontaneously LaF goes “marry me” and Perry is like “what” and is (justifiably) completely shocked (everything else is the same so they are not canonically dating before this) but they don’t get to resolve it before the ritual happens. Drama ensues. I will be writing this at some point.
