So I’ve been reading a bunch of the original Astro Boy comics for context on how Pluto adapts them… and while all the Blue Knight stuff (and how it interacts with Brau1589 as an adaptation of it) is fascinating, I’m really truly obsessed with the Blue Knight’s follower Cuzco no. 1 “THE HERO ROBOT OF PERU, WITH 300,000 HORSEPOWER!”

Like all of this feels really related to the field of flowers as a piece of imagery in Pluto and yet also so different. What is up with you little guy.

do you ever think about how aoyama met ichigo and instantly became obsessed with her light, radiance, kindness and her want to protect the earth which we now have proof transformed him as an individual, creating an alter ego which would protect her and the earth? meanwhile he was unknowingly harbouring yet another side of human him which wanted to do the complete opposite, only for him to force said persona to confront their shared connection to ichigo, his one true love and join her plight to save the earth!???? what other love interest is doing it like him

(Last post, for context) Oh @dweamofsweep is right! I wouldn’t have noticed but yeah Cuzco did manage to make it into the 2003 adaptation, though with a name change and a slight redesign.

And they’re not alone! It seems that Dartan became Jackal and Super Paris became Thrasher (a major downgrade in names tbh)

The 2003 series also caught something I’d missed in the flurry of action lines: Cuzco No. 1’s wing-like epaulette’s apparently expand out into actual wings? Neat I guess!
